Reviews
The hotel is praised for its excellent location, particularly for those attending events at Oracle Park. The staff is generally described as friendly and helpful. However, there are some inconsistencies in service quality and a few guests had negative experiences. The rooftop bar is a highlight, but some guests had issues with the food and drink prices and quality.

I liked the location since we went to a SF Giants game. Our room was very spacious and the shower was great. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I think it is really expensive but gotta treat yourself once in a while to convenience!

My room was upgraded at no charge to face the street, so I had a great view of Oracle Park. The room was spacious, clean, and had a nice coffee service. For the location and convenience to that part of San Francisco, I think the price was reasonable. No complaints.

Location wise, Via is about 20 minutes from the airport which was a breeze arriving and leaving. It’s a very quiet area when there’s no ball game and everything closes before 11. If you’re in town to sight see and do a game, it’s about an hour walk to Fisherman’s wharf. We wanted to order a pizza but delivery options were limited, we ended up having to use a 3rd party service (DD/UE) which was $$. Overall, happy with our stay and I would consider staying here again if we were just in town for just a night and just a game.
- 5/5
Very clean room, excellent bedding/linens, decor, amenities. Please remain in excellent service as usual!
- 4/5
Carpenter stay there was food on my chair when I entered the room I feel like they need to update the carpet, but I was mostly upset at the fact that they charged on Parking there. It went from $75 to 90 just because of the game across the street. I go there to enjoy myself so I don’t mind paying it but I think it’s ridiculous. They capitalize on the Giants games.
- 3/5
That said, I do think it’s unfair to charge hotel guests increased parking rates on game nights when they’re already paying hundreds of dollars to stay at the property. That didn’t feel very guest-friendly. The other disappointment was the cleanliness of the room itself. The carpets had several visible stains and the room didn’t feel as clean or well-kept as expected for the price point. It wasn’t terrible, but for the cost of the stay, I expected better attention to detail.

We didn’t spend much time at the hotel, but it worked well for our needs. Went to a giants game in the afternoon, and went to drop the car and bags off early and our room was ready, which was a huge bonus. We were traveling with our one year, so having the room before the game to do diapers changes was nice!
- 5/5
Wish they had a real restaurant
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay, right next to Oracle Park. Love the convenience of the valet parking, so you don't have to drive around and find your own! The only negative feedback I have about the room, was the carpets were pretty old looking and stained. But the room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

I am frequently in SF, but have never stayed at Hotel Via. Just the location down a quiet little alley felt like a get away from the hustle of the city. We were immediately greated by the enthusiastic valets at the entrance. The lobby is spacious, impeccably clean and modern. The front desk staff was pleasant and attentive. They explained all of the amenities and brought our complimentary bottle of wine. I appreciated that it was a very nice Coppola red from Sonoma. The room was a touch warm, but a quick AC adjustment took care of that. There was also a bit of a funk on our level that some air freshener I know would have taken care of. If I had to guess, I would say it was caused by some plumbing inadequacy, but it wasnt bad enough to be a problem. It could have also been HVAC related, the air circulation up there didn't seem to be the best. The room was comfortable. There is a dedicated Android tablet that controls the room lights and AC Temp. The tech was a fun amenity, but it was a bit glitchy. The tablet was out of charge when we got there and the TV required a restart. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was spacious, well appointed and comfortable. We did make a visit to the rooftop lounge. The view is beautiful, the cocktails were tasty, as was the charcuterie we ordered with the. There was a white party themed event going when we arrived. Part of the patio was closed for that and the guests made for some fun people watching. Overall, it was a good stay and I would boo

Worst hotel experience of my life. I get off a 6 hour flight and go to take a hot shower - no hot water. i go to grab a towel and it has black stains. i go to use the phone to call the front desk and it doesn’t work. had to get dressed soaking wet and go downstairs to demand a new room. whole experience and stay was awful. stay somewhere else.

I stayed here on May 10. The only thing good about this hotel is this location. And that's being kind. The front desk staff is full of young people that don't know the art of hospital. The African-American staff person is just rude and I can't believe they would let somebody get a front desk have stars all over their face and tats just really unprofessional. Please hire older more experienced hotel staff. They know how to treat a guest when they arrive. If you're trying to project yourself as a high-end hotel, try acting like one. Other bad experiences: The rooftop bar sent me away with cold takeout. The Wi-Fi is terrible and spotty. And quite honestly, the self signal is terrible in the rooms. I would never stay again for that reason alone. This hotel blocked the Fox channel on the TV. See photo. I told the staff member and they never got back to me. There is not a stitch of art on the walls of this room. It felt like a sterile hospital room. Try going to the trouble of having some creativity and decorating the room. See photo. This is nothing more than a glorified Motel 6.

Solo female traveler in town for one night. Never heard of the brand but was very impressed with the property and amenities. Valet was worth the cost, very quick and very easy to get into and out of property. Neighborhood was safe enough to walk late at night. Only gripes were bathroom counter was barely big enough for my makeup bag (ladies, you know) and the AC didn't quite feel the temp I was setting it to (read: a bit warm). Would stay again.

The Rooftop bar on the other hand was lacking variety, I tried to order a midori sour which they didn’t have, then tried a Malibu and pineapple juice, no Malibu. Ordered a Tom Collin’s and it was horrible. Other than that food was good and service was great. Definitely stay again.

The room was small and felt a little cramped. The bathroom was nice but wish the sliding door closed completely so there would be a little more privacy since the room was small. Having the tablet in the room was nice but had to lay it down flat so the brightness wouldn’t light up the whole room. It was a nice hotel overall.

We stay at Hotel Via every time we come to a San Francisco Giants game, and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. The location is unbeatable, literally steps from Oracle Park. You can walk across the street and be at the stadium in minutes. The hotel itself is spotless, with super comfortable beds, fluffy pillows, and consistently clean rooms. Huge shoutout to housekeeping as they truly go above and beyond. One of the highlights is the rooftop bar. The views are incredible, drinks are great, and the whole vibe is just fun and relaxing. Sip something smooth, watch the sun melt into the bay, and let the noise of life fade out. Funny thing… you might just run into a player or two while you’re at it Are you kidding me? Despite being so close to the action, it’s surprisingly quiet at night, making it easy to unwind and get a great night’s sleep. The valet service is absolutely worth it, friendly, efficient, and just makes everything easier. There are also tons of great spots nearby. We love MoMo’s for a lively pre-game drink and dinner, and The Stick is such a fun baseball-themed hangout around the corner from Tom Brady’s card shop. Between the location, service, and overall experience, this place is a home run every time. We never stay anywhere else but The Via! ? No rush. No stress. Just be. That’s living! Are you kidding me? Location is amazing. Right across from Oracle Park, and close to the wharf. All of the front desk staff are amazing. They are always helpful no matter what my questions. The A/C in the room didn't seem to work as well as I would have liked. Took awhile to cool down. The lights are all on one master switch, so you can't seem to turn on the lights by the desk area without turning on the master which lights up the whole room.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Receptionist was very nice during our check-in and gave us an upgrade. Location was perfect for our stay in the city as we were attending a concert at the Chase Center. We went upstairs to the bar area. It was fairly busy and only one person working in the front getting people's drinks. Once we were at a table it took quite awhile to order some food.

Stayed for the Mets Giants game. Had a great time! Clean rooms. The only negative was the bathroom door, we had our 12 year old son and the door is a barn slider door. Room was quiet and clean. Location was great for our needs. Staff was friendly and helpful. Viewed parking lot - no privacy with the blinds opened during the day. Had to keep them closed during the day if we were in the room - made it claustrophobic. Parking was very expensive so we parked elsewhere that was quite close.
- 5/5
Gym was decent. Staff were nice. Location is great. Close to oracle park and the water!
- 1/5
That positive impression was undone on the final evening when I went to reconfirm my conversation with the female staff who was not on duty at that time. I spoke to another staff member (likely a supervisor), who was rude and dismissive, and flatly refused the previously agreed late checkout, insisting the room was needed by 11:00 a.m. This was both inconsistent and poorly handled. To make matters worse, my room was not cleaned at all during my three-night stay, despite my request. The hotel is modern and well located, but the service particularly the attitude of that staff member was unacceptable and significantly detracted from my stay.

- 5/5
The location was ideal for going to the concert at the Chase center it was an easy walk there, about 15-20 min. The rooms were pretty small, but clean and modern. The "view" was of a brick building, but at least there was a window and it let sunlight in. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I liked the rooftop bar, however, having one bartender was less than ideal, it was slow service, but the drinks were good. I enjoyed the location of the hotel a lot, it was so convenient.

The hotel is conveniently located near the SF Giants park. It is surrounded by restaurants and entertainment. It is within walking distance of Muni stops, making it easy to access rail cars or buses. The room itself was small, clean, and comfortable. I felt that I got my money’s worth. Although there wasn’t anything extra, the room and amenities were good. The room was good, though operating the lights were a bit weird. It's operated by tablet and you can choose what you want to keep on or turn off. It was either on or off. What may be a downside is the bathroom counter was also small. But I assume it's based on the size room I booked.

Had to call front desk multiple times over the span of 3 hours just to receive replacements for broken amenities on both days that we were there. The room was pretty mediocre — views of a brick wall, flickering lights, no smart TV, weird bathroom setup without privacy, mismatched wine glasses, and missing/broken amenities. Some of which wouldn’t be a big deal typically, but when you’re spending almost $400 a night… it doesn’t seem worth it.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Hotel location was ideal, but if there was a game going on, the traffic would be terrible.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect, the only downside was there was a private party at the rooftop bar so we weren't able to enjoy it before our planned excursion
- 5/5
Room was very clean, everyone was very friendly, kind and courteous.
- 5/5
Room was quiet and clean
- 3/5
The hotel was nice. The location was great. It would have been nice if they let you know that the thermostat on the wall didn’t work and it was controlled through the iPad.
- 5/5
Amazing, will come again!!!!
- 5/5
Clean room pleasant and professional staff
- 5/5
the staff was very nice, the bed was comfy, I wasn't there for a ball game but it's literally right across the street from the ball park and there is a nice rooftop bar with lovely views of the ball park the city and a friendly bartender.
- 3/5
No . We couldn’t even access the bar it was not open
- 5/5
Quick and great service. Always hit the rooftop bar every visit!
- 5/5
Easy check-in, friendly staff, my girlfriend and I stayed one night. Our room was very clean and our view of Oracle and the ocean was amazing. Definitely would stay there again. Also the roof top bar is awesome as well.
- 5/5
Room was very clean
- 5/5
We got to the hotel earlier than expected, but they still allowed us to check in. Valet parking was convenient. There are several dining options within walking distance. Public transportation was nearby, which we took to an event. Our room was clean and spacious. The hotel also offered multiple snack and beverage items for sale in the lobby.
- 5/5
Perfect location near ballpark, clean, quiet and friendly
- 5/5
Excellent location. Friendly staff and clean room. Location was top notch and we walked everywhere, including to the Chase center
- 5/5
Great vie from the roof top!
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Hotel VIA is our favorite when we go to the city for a ball game or other events. When we book through Expedia we get a bottle of wine when we check in. Bonus!
- 4/5
I was impresse with the Hotel
- 5/5
Had an awesome time
- 1/5
I checked in at 4. Valeted vehicle for $70. I was told check out is 11 and there would be no late check out AND that I could not leave my vehicle after 11. I said I wanted to walk around the area for 2 hours max but the supervise absolutely refused to allow this. I told him I was very disappointed and would not be staying again or recommending this hotel to friends.
- 5/5
Near Oracle park. Walking distance to restaurants.
- 5/5
Great option right next to Oracle Park!
- 5/5
Love this property!!
- 5/5
Staff was extremely friendly and received us at the lobby and being bags to the room. Room was clean, seems renovated. Options for room service available. Walking distance to oracle.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Great beds and pillows. Clean, quiet, great rooftop bar.
- 5/5
Clean and spacious room. Easy check in. Very convenient location.
- 5/5
The hotel staff were all amazing. Loved the roof top bar and how exceptionally clean the room was. Hands down the best place to stay if you are going to an event at oracle park.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful, and it's always fun to see current and former Giants players in the lobby!
- 5/5
Great location, beautiful views and the rooftop bar is amazing.
- 5/5
Everyone is friendly, rooms are clean and we love the rooftop bar. Best place to stay if you are heading to a Giants game!
- 5/5
Love this hotel!!
- 4/5
Other than that, it was great.
- 5/5
Right across from ballpark but I prefer bigger rooms for price
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay and easy access to transportation. Struggled a bit to figure out BART but everyone was helpful to point you in the right direction. The hotel had a beautiful Rooftop/Bar and it overlooks Oracle Park and SF Bay, and even spotted a few Giants players there.
- 5/5
The food was ok
- 5/5
It was a good place for a good price.
- 5/5
Great hotel for game day!
- 5/5
The staff were amazing. The front desk and the valet attendants were friendly and extremely helpful.
- 4/5
Hotel was amazing ! Staff was friendly and welcoming . The location was great since we were attending a Giants game . The rooftop bar was also amazing . My only issue is $90 for valet parking
- 4/5
Great location, kinda loud and hot but otherwise great.
- 5/5
proximity to oracle park, roof top bar was good, room was adequate, met our needs
- 5/5
No experience only stayed one night for MLB game
- 3/5
Very loud, difficult to sleep.
- 3/5
No place in bathroom to hang towels by shower, no where to put soap or shampoo items in shower besides floor, noisy refrigerator all night cycling on and off flashing lights on wall all night for smoke alarm or whatever they were for, no switch by bed for light on wall besides reading pinpoint laser light. For the high cost I expected more from the resort.
- 4/5
The rooms are very comfortable. The rooftop bar is really nice.
- 4/5
Hotel right across the street from Oracle Park. Nice rooftop bar. Very clean
- 4/5
Loved the hotel . Only drawback was we were quoted $75 for parking but charged $90
- 4/5
Location was PERFECT to attend the game! Room was comfortable! Check in and check out were very hectic! Long lines both times. You are allowed to use the valet parking before check-in time to attend the game. They really do not have much of a lobby and forget about the possibility of using the restroom in there. They keep them locked and do not have enough staff to unlock them when needed.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel and covenant to the ballpark across the street.
- 4/5
The carpets were stained...furniture had rips in it...the lobby snack area was small and dd not have a trash can or bags to carry items
- 4/5
Room was clean and perfect location for our stay!
- 4/5
was not working very well in our sun facing room
- 5/5
Love this property!
- 5/5
Everything about this place made it so much easier for me and my significant other to enjoy our time out there to the fullest. Definitely will be making our way back.
- 4/5
Great property but be careful about valet parking there, they must have put my car in an overflow lot not inside parking structure as they gave me the car back with a nail in the tire and couldn’t make it home 45 mins away without stops to refill!
- 5/5
Roof top bar is really nice and spacious.
- 5/5
The manager Brandy is very sweet and she definitely goes above and beyond.
- 5/5
Fantastic stay!
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Via! We were in town for a Saturday late afternoon Giant's game and we were able to drop our luggage off at the hotel early then explore the area - including a walk to the Salesforce Rooftop Garden (5-ish acres) where we heard live music and enjoyed walked the perimeter of the park. Then a short walk back to grab our game stuff and head literally across the street to the ballpark! Our room had a fantastic city view (12th floor) and the Rooftop Bar/Restaurant was a great place to hang after the game! We will definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
The proximity to Oracle Park is what brought us here. The rooftop Lounge is wonderful. Hope to come back again soon
- 5/5
We always enjoy our stay at the Via. This time we had brunch on the top.
- 5/5
Hotel Via is bargain as far as nicer hotels go in the City. Sitting at the rooftop bar overlooking the bay and the ballpark is a pretty cool spot.
- 5/5
Rooftop bar was fantastic!
- 5/5
Restaurants near by, the grocery store, bars , The customer service is also so good !! Thank You for another awesome stay !!!
- 5/5
Check in was smooth and all the workers were very nice and accommodating!
- 5/5
The staff was great and very knowledgeable. The roof top bar is a great place to unwind.
- 5/5
The staff, location and property was amazing. The room was great size and very comfortable. The valet staff went above and beyond.
- 5/5
Lovely rooms and a great rooftop lounge!
- 4/5
We loved the convivence of the location. It was extremely quiet. We did get some misinformation when we checked in about the Roof Top Bar. The front desk told us it was open at 4pm. When we tried to go up there, there was a private party until 7pm. This information was posted in the elevator but the staff did not tell us. Otherwise, a great stay. Thank you
- 5/5
The best hotel in San Francisco!! Including the staff! We always feel like we are at home when we are here! Thank you Hotel Via! See you soon!
- 5/5
It’s right across the street from Oracle Stadium! All of the employees were great!
- 5/5
Easy parking but pricy
- 5/5
Rooftop bar/restaurant fantastic and spectacular views. Clean room, great size, very comfortable
- 5/5
Convenient for Giants event. Parking pricey at hotel
- 5/5
Great experience! Fun couple wknd getaway. Perfect location as we walked across the street to catch the Giants play.
- 5/5
We came down for fun baseball games with my best friend Jillian Heuer, a frequent guest. We had a great time and although our view was of the brick building next door, the bed was comfy and the room was perfect for us. Thank you Hotel Via!
- 5/5
Great location if you are attending something at Oracle Park. Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean and modern. Great views from the rooftop bar/restaurant.
- 5/5
Easy check in, clean quit rooms, roof top lounge great
- 2/5
So, I reviewed the commentary from other patrons. Most, if not all of them, were about experiences at the standard rooms. I booked a corner suite overlooking King street. It is the picture you see on the web site, hence, my comments are about that. The room includes a small desk, fortunately with a chair, and no other table where any food can be consumed. There is no restaurant so you have to order room svc for breakfast. One of you has to stand to eat until the other person is done with their sitting breakfast. They forgot one of the items ordered, then had to go back to retrieve a spoon which was also forgotten on the tray. The electronic pad included in the room, which is supposed to act as the digital assistant that turns on and off the room lights and from which you can order room service - did not work. Valet parking, the only parking available, is $90/night on Giants home games, otherwise $75. There are no drawers for clothing, just shelves. The front desk staff do not really know the city and have to refer to Google to answer any questions, something I could do by myself. It would have been useful if they were a little more knowledgeable. The room is nice, bathroom is elegant, the view is great, the rooftop bar is fun, but the remainder experience is forgettable. I won't stay there again.
- 5/5
the hotel is right across the street from oracle park
- 1/5
overpriced minimalist rooms, but not in the chic European way. Just cheap and uncomfortable. No amenities. would never say again
- 5/5
Beautiful property
- 5/5
The staff is always so friendly. From Jose that parks my car to Barb that walks around always with a smile on her face. And the cute little pregnant gal that checked us in. Love this hotel!
- 3/5
the location is convenient, but overall there is nothing special about this hotel. Front desk service was not very friendly or helpful or professional. Room was basic and not well kept. Carpet was disgusting.
- 5/5
I asked for my VIP Perk (which eas a bottle of wine), but the person checking me in knew nothing about it.
- 1/5
They have a policy that they stop delivery drivers and you have to meet in lobby. That’s so out of touch and nonsensical. They don’t stop anyone else though and let anyone pass through unless they look like a delivery driver. Just an absolute inconvenience for guests. You can’t trust a hotel that puts nonsensical inconveniences on their guests
- 5/5
Hotel was clean and close to transportation and food
- 5/5
Across the street from the SF Giants baseball stadium and a moderate walk from Pier 39 Fisherman’s Wharf. Hotel is very clean, staff is great, and I would stay there again for sure.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, close to stadium!
- 3/5
great location near the ballpark. Limited dining nearby. Breakfast not available. Staff could not suggest anything within 1 mile. There is a Starbucks 1.5 blocks away but they had no idea. I had to change my checkout I called, was put on hold the hung up on 3 times.
- 5/5
Great staff. Great location!
- 2/5
This was not what I expected. The "South Beach" rooms are tiny and claustrophobic...even the king room. Windows face parking garage and alley. Dump trucks pick heavy bins early in the morning, cars are going in and out of the garage, and the loud fan in the bathroom stays on all night because the windows don't open. DO NOT PAY $350 LIKE DID TO STAY IN THIS ROOM. Also, the lobby is super lame and the hotel doesn't have any personality whatsoever. No art, no music. The main draw of the property is the rooftop bar...which was closed for a wedding and no one told me prior to my arrival. Without the rooftop, you are stuck using Bar Via which may or may not be open. I will never stay here again. Location is great so find another place near there but not Hotel Via.
- 5/5
Good convenient clean hotel. Just unfortunate, Not a lot of nice restaurants around and not really where you’d want to walk around at night. This area used to be amazing and just needs to be resurrected somehow
- 4/5
Hotel is very convenient to the Oracle stadium. Unfortunately paid $90 for parking one night !! Too expensive and also encountered at checkout a not so friendly customer service young lady. The valet parking gentleman had an excellent customer service and was very helpful.
- 4/5
Love the rooftop bar and being right across from the park. Our AC didn’t work and there was nothing to do to fix it. We weren’t offered a discount or credit or anything.
- 5/5
Always an amazing stay at Via.
- 5/5
Right across the street from Oracle Park, walking distance to ferry, rooftop lounge great views with food and full bar
- 5/5
This hotel was a gem. Will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Its so close to the oracle park and convenient
- 5/5
Hotel Via is always a great place to stay. It’s very convenient to stay there if you are going to Oracle Park or the Chase Center for an event.
- 4/5
The Via is very modern and clean, but it really likes places to put clothing and other items. There was one very small closet and one nightstand with one drawer, and that was it. Other than that, it is certainly convenient if you’re planning to go to Oracle Park or Chase Center,.
- 5/5
Phenomenal! I will return.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and professional also offered an early check-in.
- 5/5
It was a great location if you’re attending the Oracle Park. The room had a barn door for the bathroom, very awkward to share with a friend, when closed the door had a large gap.
- 2/5
Bad room
- 5/5
Check-in and parking were both quick and easy. Our room was very clean and bed was comfortable.
- 5/5
Great staff gave me a room upgrade.
- 5/5
Came for the MCR concert, booked based on proximity to the stadium. We were not disappointed! The gentleman at valet were the most friendly when arriving and leaving.
- 5/5
Beautiful Boutique Hotel across from Oracle Park where we saw My Chemical Romance. Best hotel in the city in the area.
- 5/5
Super quiet room even tho it was on the first floor right by the lobby. Plenty of staff and they were nice
- 5/5
Got a great view to Oracle Park
- 5/5
The front desk staff and the men at the valet booth were very friendly. Checking in and out was fast and easy
- 2/5
There was an issues with the air conditioner which left us
- 1/5
Dirty room upon check-in and also the safety of the 2nd room was compromised
- 5/5
Great staff and comfy rooms
- 3/5
Unfortunately, the room faces a parking garage and you can here the noise from the outside.
- 4/5
Bed mattress getting worn #606. Sags in the middle
- 5/5
Everything
- 4/5
Our room was very clean and spacious, however, there are very few places to put your clothing, toiletries, etc. Also, I don’t fault the employees, but they seem to be understaffed; either the valet station or the registration desk was often unattended because employees had to run back and forth between the two at times. It is very convenient, however, if going to Oracle Park.
