The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests appreciating the friendly staff, clean rooms, and convenient location, but expressing dissatisfaction with the ongoing construction, parking difficulties, and lack of certain amenities. Some guests also mention issues with the pool and breakfast area.
- Friendly and helpful staff

- Ongoing construction causing inconvenience
- Parking difficulties and additional fees

The hotel was in a great location for our trip; however, it had only one non-functioning ice machine, no mini fridge or microwave and the shower dispensers were empty. Hotel is in major need of a renovation.

The staff and the baked goods in the morning. The beds are full size, and too firm. The bathroom too small as well.

Location right in the Marina District! We are repeat guests. Love the hospitality.

It feels like Spain It is hard to find parking at the property at times. It gets noisy in the morning when cleaning staff arrives

The room smelled musty, almost like mildewly & I had to turn the AC all the way to 63F just to get some air circulating around the room to take the smell away but when we would come back in the day it would still have that smell.

Hotel del sol is a sweet little oasis- a respite from the chaos of the city! The staff were super friendly and helpful and set the tone for a relaxing atmosphere. I loved spending my mornings poolside, slowly savoring the delicious coffee and pastries they provided. The area is really walkable, but I enjoyed taking advantage of their free bike rentals to cruise around the local green spaces.

Unfortunately, the room did not actually have three beds. It contained one queen bed and a convertible foam-mat setup that could either function as a single twin sleeping surface or be expanded into a queen-style setup. Either configuration still resulted in only two sleeping areas total, which was not what was advertised. The setup was extremely uncomfortable, there was inadequate bedding provided for the alternate configuration, and the additional sleeping surface was awkwardly positioned with the head of the bed not even against a wall. Additionally, several furnishings shown in the listing photos (including couches and a desk) were not present in the actual room. To be fair, the staff was kind and tried to help explain the setup. However, had the room been accurately represented online, I would not have booked this property. I’d strongly encourage the hotel and Hotels.com to update the listing and photos so future guests know what to expect.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was from a local bakery and was excellent! Property was clean but the area around it was in poor condition. Parking was a problem. TV did not work.
- 5/5
Parking had a fee, there was not a fridge in the room and no blackout curtains. Other than that it was so cute and the staff were awesome.
- 1/5
I am shocked by the positive reviews of this place. For the price this is absolutely absurd. This is NOT in a good area and the hotel is quite frankly a dump. The photos are very misleading. Additionally, you can hear everything and people were running around and screaming until 2 a.m. Would definitely NOT recommend. Oh and parking cost $50. The only positive was the gentelman at the front desk was very nice and pleasant.
- 5/5
Staff was so incredibly friendly!
- 3.5/5
I hadn't realised this was a motel, being called 'hotel', but it was quite fun to experience. The bed was very comfortable and everything had been cleaned. The central area with seating is nice The rooms are in big need of a refresh, patched ceilings and torn carpets, dated electronics, and the wetroom shower soaked the entire bathroom despite best efforts. And don't expect to sleep past 6am with the noise in the courtyard!
- 5/5
Hotel is great! Staffs are friendly and helpful, location is good! I would def stay again☺️
- 5/5
Simplest version of this review is that I would absolutely choose to stay at Hotel Del Sol again if I ever holiday in SF again. I enjoyed the building, the rooms & the location, and found the staff very easy to work with & talk to. --- Staff were very friendly and easy to communicate with, the beds were comfortable, TVs generously sized, bathrooms clean. It was a very comfortable place to return to at the end of the day. The central courtyard is a nice place to catch some sun while enjoying the complimentary breakfast, and the pool is clean and easy to access. The included breakfast is mostly ready to eat baked goods, without many savoury options, but its free and good enough to take the edge off before you find somewhere in the city to grab something more filling. Location gives you ample access to some key bus routes in and out of the city. I spent a lot of time catching the 28 to Golden Gate park & that ride was easy and quick. However, the restaurants in the Marina District can be a bit more expensive, so if you're more price sensitive, there may be better options, or just be prepared to do more research/travel to find something affordable. Shower pressure is a little low but not enough to cause issues. If you're coming from overseas, the included shampoo/conditioner/bathwash is serviceable but you may enjoy getting your own. There's generous storage for clothes given the size of the rooms, so you can unpack your suitcase and settle in. Rooms come with lots of accessible power outlets, and the alarm clock has a USB-C & USB-A port, so its easy to keep your devices charged. TVs have a free HDMI port and aren't locked down, so you can choose to plug in your own devices. At bigger chain hotels, this isn't always possible, so I appreciated this possibility. The free wifi is quite stable and didn't give me any issues.

The toilet in our room was dirty and had pee in it when we arrived. We found someone’s socks and garbage on the side of the bed. Dead but in the little fireplace. We paid over 300$ for one night which included a crazy fee just to park which is crazy. This room was not worth that price. The staff was very nice but the hotel room and rate in general was not worth it in my opinion.

Excellent location. Bed was extremely comfortable. They do not have free parking for the number of rooms but close parking is available nearby.

$50 dollar for parking

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast on offer was sufficient. Elevator was very slow and sometimes unresponsive. Cookies were only out 1 night :( They were great cookies! No microwave in the room so dining options were very limited. No bar fridge for keeping drinks cold over a long stay.

Good location. Nice that y they have parking, but it's extra and it didn't specify that in the Expedia Ad. IT just said parking available-but not how much to expect to pay. IT was $50
- 4/5
Noise / structural vibrations from exterior walkways & room above were noticeable. Blackout shades would be a great addition to blinds for courtyard lights on all night. The steps from the elevator were unusual. Need new Art in bathrooms!

Fabulous location and very family friendly, so therefore quiet after hours. The beds were super comfy, just what we needed after a long day of walking. The staff here was also very outgoing and friendly. The bathrooms are quite small and the rooms and common areas need some TLC. Overall a good value.
- 5/5
Safe area, nice breakfast, excellent staff.

Great retro ambiance and non-sterile vibe. Nice breakfast offerings. Carpet on stairs is worn and could be dangerous in spots, sticking up.

Hotel Del Sol is a friendly place, feels safe, and has a great location. I don't understand the Resort fee. On the down side - the heating/cooling unit was loud, the window coverings let in a lot of the outdoor lighting and the beds were really uncomfortable.
- 5/5
This is a great spot! It’s a really cute hotel with clean rooms, comfy beds and amazing staff! We stayed for a couple nights and all the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating with a couple special request we had. Will be staying here again!

First time staying at this establishment. Check in with my doggie Stella went well. Was greeted by a friendly front dest person. I was surprised by the added $70 cost of having Stella with me at check in. I either missed it or was not pointed out in their website when I booked room. The room was immaculate with good room decor. The open patio area with a fire pit and lamp heaters all around it as well as the pool was an added bonus for anyone staying. There is a $50 fee to park your car. Street parking can be a hit or miss, can always drop your luggage and find parking.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The lobby area is cute with snacks to purchase, and a great free breakfast. They also do cookie hour in the afternoon :) They have bicycles you can take out (free) which were a major plus as I was able to stroll around the bay and pier with them. Overall great stay for the price and location

Hotel Del Sol is such a gem and so close to many different interesting sites. It was a convenient and comfortable home base for our visit with friendly and welcoming staff. The room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed sitting in the courtyard for breakfast and in the afternoon. The style is such a fun, kitschy throwback but feels vibrant and up-to-date.
- 5/5
The staff were all amazing. Parking is first come first serve but we had no problem getting a space on site. The breakfast included various croissants, bagels, toast,

Wonderful staff and so friendly. Worked to figure out problems with the rooms TV and offered a discount
- 5/5
The staff was extremely friendly and was in a good location.
- 5/5
Room was very clean, bathroom had plenty of towels to use. Staff was extremely friendly and patient! Great location to walk around and find coffee shops, stores, and restaurants- but quiet enough from all the bustling street noises to get plenty of rest and relaxation!
- 5/5
This place was perfect! The staff was so friendly and accommodating! Walking distance to some many great shops and restaurants!
- 5/5
Great location, safe at all hours and clean! Close to busy eateries and convenient stores. The hotel is very pet friendly and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The baked goods at breakfast were wonderful. Love the location and the retro vibe.
- 4/5
Great location and friendly staff Small bathroom
- 1/5
The hotel is in a good location. The staff are very kind. However, it’s overpriced for what you get. I’ve stay in this area a lot, and I’ve not been charged for parking before at a motor inn. $50 a night. The reason why I usually stay at a travel in is because there’s free parking Also, the fold out couch is the worst of the worst.
- 4/5
The property was clean, quiet, and easy to park at. The room was comfortable, the water was hot, and I slept very well. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it’s well run and I had a pleasant, restful stay overall.
- 5/5

Wonderful stay! Friendly staff, great breakfast, location and clean!
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and staff was very accommodating.
- 3/5
Noise was an issue, especially the cleaning crew. We were rushed out 10 minutes before check out. There’s a lot better options for the price.
- 4/5
Even though the hotel has been around for many years it has been kept up well. The rooms are clean with nice bedding and comfy bed. It does smell like an older hotel would but it doesn’t take away the charm of it. Reasonably priced room for a holiday weekend Sunday.

Staff - especially at check-in - was courteous and professional. Information was useful, necessary and delivered succinctly. Yet she was also friendly, conversational and engaging. Amenities were as described and check-in/check-out was all the easier with inside gate access regardless of where you parked.
- 4/5
Very good location. Highly secure. It’s an upgraded motel. Good beds. Nice courtyard and a simple breakfast is included. People are friendly. It’s a good price point.
- 3/5
Staff were all very pleasant. We had TV issues and the hotel is very noisy in general.

Very secure area. Great location! Great little breakfast in the morning. Slways coffee and tea available in lobby. They even hsd a pool!
- 5/5
Love every minute of it. Service was perfection. We’ll be back!
- 4/5
It's a little shabby around the edges (some chipping concrete around the pool area), but overall clean and updated. The continental breakfast had a surprising amount of options. We will definitely be staying again!

Groovy and quaint. Perfect location for my trip. Went to see a show at the Palace of Fine Art. Easy walk.
- 3/5
The room was great for the price and the location was great. Close to pier 39, Crissy Fields and the Palace of Fine Arts. The parking is the biggest issue and I was not fully aware till I got there. They have about 10-12 spots that are very narrow. Even if you pay the fee, the parking is first come first serve which means you may not have a spot if you leave for the day and the street parking in the neighborhood is extremely limited.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 5/5
The staff was friendly, helpful, and very attentive. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. I loved the outdoors firepit, heaters and chairs with blankets. They had corn hole to play, plus bikes to rent if you wanted. It was extremely clean and comfortable in the room. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Definitely booking here again.
- 5/5
Really great hotel -- it was clean, well kept, and walkable. Best of all, in a noisy city like SF where it's hard to sleep, the room was quiet and the common areas had minimal disturbances. Loved the continental breakfast, too. The elevator was working...sometimes, which would have been helpful with luggage as we were on the top floor. I did see one mouse run through the court yard, but hey, it's the city so there's bound to be some vermin lurking around. The front desk staff was the best and would absolutely stay here again.

Older, small, but cute and clean hotel. All of the desk staff have been uniformly amazing- friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating. Pet friendly. Continental breakfast. Walkable location. I will return
- 5/5
Staff are super nice and accommodating. The room was clean and comfortable and WiFi worked great. I would highly recommend this neighborhood gem.
- 4/5
Comfortable room with local flair and a 1950s vibe. It met all our needs, was pet friendly and the staff were great! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 4/5
Staff were excellent, the room was comfortable, breakfast was plentiful.
- 3/5
The price was good but the hotel room is very average. Feels dated, small and many worn out parts. Good breakfast with a lot of options (bagels, muffins, etc). The staff is extremely nice and helpful.
- 4/5
The stuff are very nice and fast response. However they are a motel not hotel, do no have daily cleaning service you have to request one day ahead which is annoying. Also double bed are full size not queen, so very tied for 2 people in one bed. Also $50 a night for deposit is quite high imagine you book for 7 day will be 350 deposit for a $100 room! Otherwise the room is very clean and breakfast is nice value for the price.
- 4/5
Amazing staff. Fairly clean rooms. Parking $45 which was a little misleading because I thought it was included. Pool was heated and property well kept.

- 5/5
Friendly staff. Great location and clean rooms.
- 3/5
Check in was smooth. Our room was dated but clean. The only issue was our upstairs neighbors who were noisy all night. While that isn't the hotel's fault, it is an older building and noise does go through those walls.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing. Courteous and very helpful.

Fun, friendly staff. Room was nice. Property is very cool.
- 4.5/5
The staff was great! The two young lads especially were friendly, informative and helpful. Super comfy beds and free overnight parking on the road. I had no issues. No microwave or fridge in the room but those weren't mentioned or expected.
- 4/5
Convenience of the location. Close to restaurant, eatery and attractions
- 4/5
Good location and very friendly staff, honestly the best part was the staff
- 5/5
All front desk attendants were very helpful in one way or another. We arrived around 1am and we were greeted nicely and taken care of. Throughout our stay, other attendants were very helpful with food suggestions and best way to get around the city. Continental breakfast was very good and seemed fresh, not packaged. Great variety and coffee/tea was excellent. Location was perfect. So much to walk around to see and do near Cow Hollow. We always felt safe in the area when walking around late. Room was pretty clean, maybe a 4. it could’ve used a little dusting. Bed was comfortable, however, small for 2 people. We were a family of 4, two teenagers/two adults. And the two double beds was tight. I knew it would be when booking, but I wanted to book this hotel and nothing else was available as far as bigger beds. Window covering is just blinds, so a black out curtain would be nice. Overall, we loved our stay. Super cute place and great location!
- 5/5
The property is beautiful but the rooms smell moldy due to SF weather. I love all the bright colors. It’s my first choice when coming to the City. I wish they still had the extra parking across the street.
- 5/5
Jenifer at the front desk was delightful! She was extremely helpful when it was discovered I had inadvertently booked two rooms for the same night instead of one room for two nights. The room was neat, tidy and looked professionally cleaned. I only wish that there would have been a microwave in the room … other than that it is a lovely place to spend a few nights.
- 5/5
Check in went smooth with very supportive clerk Jennifer who made my stay special despite the very short time I would be there.
- 5/5
Clean bedding
- 4/5
Easy to come and go. The location and cleanliness were most important. Also lovely to have front desk personnel to greet us and help with information! Nice touches like the mural and blankets by the fire pit. Great coffee shops and shopping two blocks away. Walked down to the ocean front. Even though pastries were from a local bakery, not that great! And nice to have and eat on the patio. Fire pit wasn't on but it being Halloween, understand. Interesting that the closet was huge and the shower pretty small!
- 5/5
Staff was very welcoming, I enjoyed the vibrant colors, and the breakfast was splendid. Good location

The hotel had a bright, fun atmosphere. The staff was friendly.
- 5/5
Any hotel that charges a hidden "Amenities Fee" should be avoided. Beware Hotels.com telling you that all fees and taxes are included. That is FRAUDULENT.
- 5/5
I was realy satisfied and would stay again
- 5/5
Good staff, safe hotel, great neighborhood.
- 5/5
Loved our stay. Breakfast had many options, the pool was great, location of the hotel could not be beat, central to everything, bus stops nearby. The only improvement I could even suggest is having a mini fridge in the room. Beds were comfy, staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.
- 3/5
Awful musty smell in the room.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Pool and firepit area was clean and perfect for both families and couples . Fresh pastries at breakfast were amazing
- 5/5
It’s a renovated motel type facility, albeit It’s updated nicely. Staff is attentive.

Excellent location and they are Corgi approved!
- 5/5
Great location, super friendly staff, and comfortable rooms. I will definitely return!
- 5/5
Very helpful staff great area
- 5/5
Cute hotel, friendly staff. Very walkable and convenient to lots of upscale shopping on Union. Fisherman’s wharf is a short drive, the Golden Gate Bridge same. Parking at the hotel is not free, but is gated and protected.
- 5/5
We could hear our neighbor who woke up early and cleared the TV. There aren’t refrigerators in the rooms, The staff is all very friendly and helpful I would definitely stay here again
- 5/5
Staff are all fantastic!!!
- 5/5
Hotel Del Sol was such a great find! Perfect home base for our San Francisco adventures. Love the courtyard, clean rooms, friendly staff and thoughtful market in the lobby. The neighborhood was lovely - walkable with bars and restaurants close by.
- 3/5
Just okay experience. Random impressions in no order. The motels in this area of the city are mostly old and somewhat rundown. The surrounding restaurants and shops are quite nice. Fairly clean and comfortable. Morning continental breakfast was adequate, certainly nothing special. Pool literally backs up to the street.
- 2/5
I would not recommend staying here. It is very run down and breakfast is subpar. Rusty nails in bedroom. Sink that doesn't drain well. Old old old. Only new thing is the paint and a firepit that didn't work. Pool isn't heated enough to actually enjoy. Parking is expensive --$50 a day and you aren't guaranteed a spot. The infinity hotel by hilton looks better and worth the added cost.
- 5/5
The staff were personable, helpful and friendly. The pool was warm and deep for my kids to dive into. The breakfast was ON POINT and it was fun to eat out in the courtyard. You're well located for some great restaurants, the marina area for views of the bridge, and a short walk (uphill!) to Lombard Street and a cable car ride downtown.
- 2/5
Had to wait an hour after check in so they could clean and prepare the room. Then after finally entering the room, the bathroom had urine on the floor around the toilet and unknown hair on the shower wall. Had good complimentary breakfast but was

The hotel (motel) didn’t have any microwave or small fridge to store or heat our food. On Friday, 06/27/25, there were no hot water. They didn’t notify us. I went down to talk to the front desk and they said that they would talk to Expedia to confirm that I did cancel the 2nd night with a refund for the night on top of other fees. No answering phone calls or returning emails.

Awesome
- 5/5
It was so cute. The staff was welcoming. Beautiful and quiet and very close to all things San Fran. We loved it.
- 5/5
This hotel is amazing. Marina district. Close walk to Golden Gate Bridge. Driving distance to all you want to see in San Francisco.
- 4/5
The hotel is located just one street away from the restaurant area and the bus routes, so it's convenient yet quiet. The swimming pool is small, so there aren't many children playing at once, so it's not noisy. You can also sunbathe and eat on the spacious patio. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The breakfast provided was a nice change. Lovely croissants, bagels, yogurt.
- 4/5
Great staff and clean. Excellent spot for a few days. Easy walk to Marina and surrounding areas
- 4/5
No elevators and it’s a hassle to take your luggage to the second floor
- 4/5
We loved this property- the parking and courtyard were great. The only downfall was the room lacked a fridge. Nice breakfast with delightful baked goods!!
- 5/5
Great breakfast. The use of the bikes was awesome. Can cover a lot of ground at no charge.
- 1/5
The general manager was unreachable after multiple attempts to contact him from our end and Expedia's. This property shouldn't be listed on Expedia - they have a shady general manager and the bugs are a health code violation. Huge was of money and a big inconvenience to have to rebook a hotel last minute.
- 3/5
Paper cups-no glasses Property pretty shabby. $45 parking and you’re not guaranteed to space if you leave and come back !
- 2/5
The only positive thing about this hotel is its location in the Marina district, which is a great area. But unfortunately, that alone isn’t enough to make up for the condition of the rooms and the service. I wouldn’t stay here again.
- 3/5
One downer is the $50 charge for parking so be aware. That is expensive for the area, there is free street parking overnight but spots can be difficult to find. I was also unable to get the television to work and i thought I was tech savvy!
- 5/5
I rarely write reviews, but I wanted to express my appreciation for how helpful and accommodating the staff was. I had to bring my new puppy with me (which isnt the most ideal way to travel haha), but I was greeted with a nice, down-to-earth staff. Thank you guys, so much! My only small complaint was that the TV didnt work. even after several configurations/tries by us and management, it didnt work the whole weekend. Other than that, I recommend staying here and would come again.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel, room good size for a family of 3, decent breakfast provided. Lovely warm pool which we enjoyed daily
- 5/5
Top service, clean room
- 4/5
Room spacious, but had slight stale smell. Pull out children’s beds were a little awkward to set up. Bedding was sheets over a duvet for main double (no duvet cover, just sheets) and sheet with blanket for kids (no duvet). Weather was warm so no issue. Didn’t use aircon. Fridge in room was handy. Would recommend and stay again as hotel is in an excellent location and very good value.

The property is dated but in a great location. Breakfast was very good.

Very safe hotel with enclosed parking. The staff are friendly and accommodating
- 4/5
Standard hotel, clean and pet friendly
- 4/5
The place would be five stars if they just put curtains that blocked the lights.
- 4/5
We really enjoyed our stay. Location was perfect!
- 4/5
The Hotel was excellent as far as service and staff. I would have given five star except we had a difficult time streaming shows on the television.
- 2/5
The bathroom was tiny, we could barely have one person move in there. The room was the same story.
- 5/5
Quiet part of town, affordable, clean, friendly and professional staff

Great and cozy

This is a very sweet and thoughtfully appointed hotel. It is very safe and secure and though not truly updated it’s very clean and comfortable. Included breakfast was generous! Definitely recommend!!

Was very good 👌

We love staying here. The one issue was that the pool heater broke so I couldn’t go swimming.
- 5/5
My stay was great I love coming back here every year for my event.
- 3/5
Great location but do note that because of its proximity to bars that people are coming and going late into the night
- 4/5
Great redone property. Heating was a bit of an issue as the bathroom was freezing and room was hot. But that was minimal issue as rest of stay was great. Parking was fair for a safe spot in the area. Bagels and muffins in the morning. Staff can’t be beat. I’ll be back with friends for a visit to hit up the pool when it is warm
- 5/5
The rooms are a bit dated but the service and intentions of the staff are on point.
- 5/5
Very lovely property with excellent vibe. I would stay there again!
- 5/5
Quiet oasis in a busy area.
- 5/5
Good take-away breakfast. Kind staff. The sofa was a bit squeaky. The shower has a good stream of hot water. Nice experience overall.
- 5/5
Great location with lots of dining and shopping options within walking distance. Parking is secure, so no need to worry about car break ins. Good for families too!
- 5/5
Lovely little hotel in great walking distance to Marina and Cow Hollow. Great amenities and comfy beds; very affordable!
- 5/5
This hotel is adorable, with amazing staff in a great location!
- 2/5
I dont know who, but someone decided to not put blackout curtains into the rooms which is ridiculous. There is bright lights infront of the window and it looks like the sun is rising when the blinds are closed, through out the entire night. Nothing for light sleepers.
- 3/5
The rooms are old and not maintained and only after 3 requests did they agree to clean the room once during a 4 night stay
- 5/5
The Hotel del Sol exceeded my expectations. I was looking for an affordable but clean and comfortable room and these guys nailed it. Oscar at the front desk was awesome. The property has its limitations, but they make the most of it and it has a lot of charm.
- 4/5
The breakfast pastries were very nice served with good coffee. It was really nice to see so many European families. The outdoor courtyard area was very nice and clean

All plus

I found this gem on Hotels.com. I am so glad I did. This is a 1950’s motor lodge motel that has been completely restored and modernized. This property has so much retro charm it’s off the charts ! All of the staff I spoke with was extremely kind, and friendly. It is also very quiet and secure. The entrance and parking is heavily gated. I did not drive , but would have had no second thoughts about parking my Corvette here. Could not have enjoyed my stay more. Loved it so much I bought a hat . Well done people!
- 5/5
Oscar and other staff were very helpful and made parking and favorite restaurant suggestions! Nice quality choices of tea, coffee and pastries for small breakfast on the way out each day. Clean Cali style Motor Inn!

It was good and a decent hotel to stay .

This is my favorite place to stay in San Francisco. I stay here every time I’m in town!
- 4/5
great location near my son's apartment on Union Street, farmers market, clean, and nice staff. person on 3rd floor above me was heavy footed and making noise at 5;00AM daily so a bit annoying. also on corner room by street and it was a bit noisy at times but realize it was the weekend.

Cute little hotel. Loved my stay there.

This a nice and consistently clean location. The employees are extremely friendly.

Hotel Del Sol was a nice surprise. It's rooms are well decorated, current, very clean, with a nice vibe. Lots of international travelers here. Breakfast was a total surprise with local good coffee and fresh pastries that were delicious. Exceeded my expectaitons. The pool was under some construction so didn't get to use it. Rooms were not super quiet which I didn't expect with the layout, and the bed linens were very nice. Mattress very soft and not the best. Overall good value and great location. Very close to Union Street area and also the Marina. I will stay here again.

Cute little spot. Staff is great and helpful. Beds are comfy but walls are too thin. Could hear our neighbours. But we enjoyed the hotel.

Please be aware, that there is added a 25USD Amenity Fee per night. This needs to be considered when evaluating the overall cost of the stay, as this is not listed and charged on your deposity covered card.
- 5/5
The breakfast was a bunch of pastries and yogurt, if you have picky eaters there’s not much (bagels, toast, croissants, bran muffins, etc). We wound up eating in one day and out 2 other days. You take the breakfast back to your room or to the common space outdoors. I actually feel like when I booked this hotel there was little to no parking fee which is why I chose it. I was surprised to get a $40 per night parking bill with a bunch of taxes and fees. This was not discussed at check in. Between the parking and tourism fees we wound up with a $205 bill I wasn’t expecting. Pay close attention to that at booking, maybe even screenshot it. I wish I had. All in all a great family hotel, we would stay again!

Love the location and convenient parking.
- 5/5
Safe, friendly staff, simple grab and go breakfast, an easy walk to great sites.
- 5/5
The staff were helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast had pastries and Im a tea drinker so I appreciated the premium brand tea bags! Parking was only 40 when most in SF are 50-60. Only a single night stay but met our needs.

Very good hotel

This place was charming and sunny with a great breakfast. The staff was extremely kind and helpful in every interaction. Easy walk from the hotel to Ghirardelli square and Fisherman’s Wharf too.

Great time staying there enjoy it 😀 no crazy deposit amount

Very well cared for older property with wonderful pool breakfast and parking

Clean, quiet, comfortable. Excellent location, very friendly staff. Parking onsite inside gated lot on first come first served basis for a daily fee. Over flow lot is not gated.

This hotel is such a great place to stay. We found it to be quiet, fun, family-friendly and with a much-appreciated attention to detail. The breakfast featured delicious freshly made muffins, amongst other yummy things, and freshly brewed decaf coffee as well as regular. Cookies in the afternoon, and a fire pit in the courtyard both contribute to the atmosphere. The hotel is just over 30mins easy walk to Fisherman's Wharf and very close to numerous cafes and other eating options. We would definitely stay here again. I got the impression there are quite a few regulars.

Friendly staff during checkin and comfortable room

Clean with convenient location.

Very friendly staff

Microwave or fridge. Very tiny room. Pastries for breakfast, yogurt etc. 24h coffee, tea, drinks which is nice. The lady who checked us in was nice to let us check in early. Not Much parking space inside the hotel but there is an overflow parking outside. Overall, an ok accommodation but will not book again.

This is a cute little hotel. We had to do some testing at UCSF and only needed to stay 1 night. The staff are friendly. It is a little confusing getting into the lobby. The door has a sign with an arrow to use other door but there isn’t another door. There’s a gate that you need to push a “doorbell” and they’ll let you in. A sign would really help cut down on the confusion. The rooms could use a bit more of an upgrade. The shower head is only about 5 feet high and the water pressure is quite low. It took awhile to wash my shampoo and soap off. The main issue with the room is that it only has blinds on the window, no curtains. So the light outside just beams into the room all night making you think it’s morning all night. Some thick hotel curtains would perfectly remedy the problem. The beds aren’t that comfortable and the blowdryer didn’t work. The gfi switch had a light that said “when red, replacement needed”. If we had to stay longer, these issues would have been annoying. The breakfast was ok, a standard continental with pastries, yogurt, bagels etc. It really could be a true gem with a few tweaks.
