This is my favorite San Francisco hotel/condo. I’ve stayed here five times and highly recommend it.

Location is absolutely fantastic! Steps from restaurants and walking along the Fishermans Wharf and Fort Mason. View to Alcatraz! Staff were friendly and the apartment was wonderful, large and well appointed. The bed was super comfortable. Will definitely stay there again!.

Great hotel. Lovely staff...particularly the concierges. Great location. No breakfast...but really this was the only downside...everything else was exceptional.

The fixtures and furnishings are not only dated but scuffed up, chipped and just old - not in a good way. Staff will no longer help you get reservations, arrange for really anything. It's more like an air BNB. This sounds like 1%er problems but at 1300.00 a night, I expected the Fairmont to be as I remembered. there's little value here. With the exception of 1 or 2 staff, I find very little to say about the Fairmont Heritage other than look elsewhere, you'll feel taken advantage of.

The rooms were well appointed and the views can’t be beat. We loved being so close to Fisherman’s Wharf and walking distance to Pier 39.

We booked a 2-bedroom suite at the Fairmont and later extended our stay by booking directly with the hotel for 2 additional nights. Well in advance—months before arrival—we confirmed several times that the reservations would be linked so our family wouldn’t have to move rooms. This was especially important with 2 young kids and a refrigerator full of groceries. A week before our trip, Fairmont emailed and offered an upgrade to an ocean view which we took and paid for (as it is Fleet Week). When we arrived, the hotel checked us into a fantastic room (one of their residences) and all seemed set. But 2 days later, we received a confusing voicemail saying that we needed to move. When we called that night and spoke to the staff, they stated a “priority guest” needed the room and we would have to move. The staff members we spoke with didn’t acknowledge the mistake or the notes already attached to our reservation. Only after pushing for escalation did we get on the phone with the acting GM (since the GM was away at a conference). That manager admitted the hotel had “messed up” because the unit’s owners were arriving—meaning we had to pack up and move despite all prior confirmations. While the team attempted some service recovery, the disruption was already done. This experience forced us to interrupt multiple plans to deal with logistics—exactly what you don’t expect on an expensive, luxury trip. Unfortunately, Fairmont has lost our business forever.

We stayed for several nights and it was amazing! Super walkable and perfect location to watch the 4th of July fireworks! The service was wonderful and free valet parking, easy class in and check out were all a bonus. They even had a special event on 4th of July where they set up on the terrace and poured wine for the guests, such a pleasant experience! We will be back!

This is an excellent property with an excellent location. Only downside is bedding is not guaranteed and the televisions only receive a few channels.

The views here are incredible and the access to Ghirardelli Square is wonderfully convenient

The Fairmount was the best hotel we have ever stayed. The staff were beyond attentive. The place is beautiful and extremely clean. The area is perfect for walking and exploring. We loved every second of this trip!

I stayed 3 nights at the Fairmont Heritage Place. My family and I loved it. The location is amazing. Ghirardelli Square has a lot to offer on its own, but it's also just down the street from Fisherman's Wharf, which has a lot of neat restaurants and shops. Highly recommend!

Family was well taken care of. Walking distance to everything. The staff went above and beyond to make this stay memorable

There was no room service available so we had to get door dash deliveries (which sometimes just sat at the front desk), and staff were very inattentive at times—failing to be at the door or even get the door for us when they were present and otherwise unoccupied. Had one staff member literally running up and down the halls repeatedly, and at one point could have injured us as we left the room. The managers apologized repeatedly, and stopped the runner that had been disturbing us for 2 out of 3 days there, but did little else to compensate. For $600/night, before tax, that was unacceptable.

2nd issue: I book 2 night first and add 1 more night 2 day before arriving, So I made 2 calls to Fairmont ask them to prepare 3 nights room when we check in, we do not want switch room for the 3rd night or get lock out because the key is not open on the 3rd day. they said they will one the phone. I also repeat this request. when we check in.They said it will not happen. But the keys were nit work all our 3 rooms when we came back from lunch on 3rd day. For the hotel room over one thousand per night should never happen,especially when we inform them 2 days before and remind them on checking in.

First off, this Hotel is fantastic. This review is regarding this specific listing. The photos in the listing clearly show a condo with amazing bay views. However what we ended up with was a ground level, street view room, nothing like the photos that are shown on this listing. Next time we will be sure to book our room directly through the hotel website so we can be sure we are getting what you are paying for.

Staying in Ghirardelli square was ideal to access all nearby attractions such as Aquatic Park, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. The staff were friendly. Highly recommend.

Large rooms to accommodate 4-5 adults. Spacious with great bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry. As most places are now it's slightly understaffed, however, that is our of their control.

No food or beverage service on property. Only water tanks to refill bottles. Plenty of room, a bit outdated.

Location was great - right next to the bay with lots of shopping and restaurants. Staff were super helpful and very friendly.

Great location, right at Ghiradelli where they have an indoor putt-putt golf, VR experience, arcade, and 5-10min walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. This Fairmont is a residence stay, no room service, no amenities like a pool/spa or others you’d have at a regular hotel. But full kitchen and enclosed bedrooms. The corridor to go in and out from Ghiradelli does smell like urine however. Courteous staff and clean and spacious rooms. I give this place 5 stars, except for the odor right outside.

I was in San Francisco with my family for my youngest son college tour, and we decided to stay at fairmont heritage hotel.

The staff and facilities are fantastic! The location can’t be beat either, loved being able to walk outside into the square with many good restaurants and shops to choose from.

The customer service was great. They accommodate it to every one of my needs. I definitely recommend this place And I will be returning.

Located right on Ghirardelli Square. Very central location. Our room has a view of fisherman’s wharf, Alcatraz etc. The room is a suite with two room. The outside room also has a kitchen with basic appliances, fridge, dishwasher etc. The couch is a pull out bed. Excellent cushions with memory foam.

If you get a bay view room, you have a simply spectacular view over fisherman's wharf and out toward Alcatraz and beyond. Very convenient for touring around. Beware: you are in a former chocolate factory and right over Ghiridelli Marketplace which means the temptation to eat chocolate and indulge in their spectacular ice cream sundaes is fierce! The rooms are all suite residences, meaning we stayed in a beautiful, roomy 2 bedroom apartment with our son. Wonderful to have separate rooms for a long stay and a place to have breakfast. A very nice continental breakfast is included (you can bring it to your room if you don't want to eat in the dining lounge), they do complimentary wine and cheese every afternoon, and they shower you with Ghiridelli chocolates at turndown or anytime! Seriously nice staff. Lovely workout room, bikes available to borrow, portable chargers for your phone to borrow for no extra charge, A house car that will take you anywhere in a 2 mile range (most of where you want to go) and a beautiful vibe all around!

3 of us stayed on a business trip. Each bedroom had full en-suite, which was nice and the shared living space was large. Excellent stay with complimentary continental breakfast.

The location is convenient located when you want to hang out around pier 39 and more. From here you can take the cable car into the city. It’s pretty quiet and easy to access. The suite we had was amazing, big, had all what you can think about. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Nice quiet area with good facilities close by and great walk along waterfront. Two bedroom apartment was lovely, well laid out for a family of six , beds were fabulous. Highly recommended.

Residence was lovely and spacious. The facilities are sparse. No restaurant or bar (a few nearby places deliver to the hotel) - if you want food after 10:00pm, you can go out or go hungry. The facilities and staff are not what you would expect at this price level.

It's a wonderful place to stay in San Francisco. It's perfect for families, reunions, etc. It was a two story, two bedroom room with a kitchenette. Very comfortable and homey. Amazing views of the bay and Alcatraz.

We had an amazing experience! The staff was helpful and quick to respond with any requests we had. The rooms were absolutely beautiful, modern and clean. The views were some of the best you will get in SF. Everyone in our party of 8 agreed that we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A great stay! We were at the end of a family round the world trip and this was a great way to finish. Excellent hotel facilities, staff and location.

Super stay, could not ask for anything more

On the Sunday night a bachelor party took place in the suite two doors away - there were approx. 15 people in attendance and they used their own music box and utilized the residents terrace for their party. This denied access to other residents and created noise (including loud use of profanities) On the Monday we returned to the room to find that my son's teddy bear was missing? He had shared his life with this teddy bear for over 10 years and was clearly distraught. This teddy bear had travelled all over the world without incident and had been carefully placed on top of his pyjamas in their bedroom that morning by my wife. This teddy bear has still not been returned and this incident caused enormous distress to the entire family for the remainder of our 3 week holiday and still to this day no adequate explanation has been given by the hotel? – only explanation was that the linen had been changed and the teddy bear must had gone with it despite us NOT requesting this service and there being no evidence that the linen had indeed been changed. The hotel broke our TRUST – the rooms even when left locked are not safe! The ultimate failure at any hotel.

Had to call two out of the three nights asking for loud music to be turned down. My husband and I had to sleep on the sofa bed one of the nights because my kids needed to get to sleep and the loud music wasn’t rectified yet. We paid wayyyy to much money to sleep on a sofa bed!!!

I looked in to a brick wall of Ghiardelli square. NOT EVEN A HINT OF A CITY VIEW. Shame on you Expedia. Shame on you Fairmont. Disgraceful behaviour.

I won't stay anywhere else in SF, especially when we travel with kids. This hotel is so comfortable, accommodating, and perfectly located. The staff is helpful and friendly and always recognizes our family.
