This hotel was clean but old fashioned. The room we had was large. It included parking which was very useful. This was our second visit to San Francisco and was ideal based for us.

The location is pretty amazing and the room was very comfy. Free parking was also a great perk!

Great value! Tony at the front desk helped me the most when I needed it the most. I was touring relatives , and had become overly , tired, grumpy. They have onsite parking. Located in border of Chinatown, North Beach, and just a couple blocks away from the Stockton Street trolley line. No street noise in our rooms ( second floor, not saying there would be on the first floor). Immaculately clean. Overall, no fuss; great experience at a great location, great find! Nothing

Situate at the bottom of Columbus avenue, it had easy walking access to waterfront and North Beach restaurants/bars. The building itself and the rooms were a bit run down. No fridge and no bowl/cutlery in the room, making milk for breakfast in the room a bit tricky.

We chose this hotel as it had great reviews and offered free parking. Although a little dated the hotel was great. A 10 minute walk to Pier 39 and close to the Cable Car stops etc. Our room was a little noisy as it overlooked the rear of "Bimbos" so we had to keep the window shut but we had aircon which we needed.

Tony was really help ful! They have ample parking and their location was really good!

Tony the night manager was great... A true professional in hospitality. Bed was comfortable. There is no city view, even on top floor, as advertised on Booking.com The room was practical, but furniture looked like original 50 year old dark furniture... not uplifting. I'd suggest to owners make some low cost, lighter brighter upgrades. There was construction noise on the roof, right above my top floor ceiling. These things happen, BUT when i told the the morning lady at reception at 9am the noise is really bad, she replied.... "it is scheduled maintenance, and we have to run a business". so basically tough luck, no true care... So bad she didn't realise what she was saying... Apologised later, after i said i'd leave a 2 star review, but she didn't mean it. The owners may want to move her to a non customer facing role.

I have stayed at the Columbus motor in several times. It’s all about the location and the location is excellent. This time the room, however, had mould in the bathroom on the ceiling and the shade of the lamp was stained. It’s a basic motel with a wonderful location.

This hotel has complimentary parking, which was a big advantage. Parking is not readily available in San Francisco. The location is excellent. It is within walking distance of Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf. The property is older, but well kept. Our room was very nice. As far as staffing, Leida is awesome! Check in and out we're both easy. Leida took time to speak with us and answer all our questions. She also offered suggestions and gave us walking directions. Watching her deal with other guests, she was always calm, polite and just very nice. She is an asset to this hotel.

Columbus Inn was perfect. Situated between Fisherman’s Wharf and North Beach. Easy, early check-in. Woman ( Layda?) at front desk was so nice and accommodating. Rooms are really clean. It’s an older hotel, but it’s been updated. Felt very safe and we loved the free parking. Walked everywhere from the hotel and cable car end line is one block over. No refrigerator, but there is a coffeemaker.

Stay was good. Would stay again and definitely recommend to family and friends.

This place was so nice to stay in. Even though it's a little bit older it is clearly well cared for and comfortable to stay in. The beds were so comfortable and we really enjoyed staying there.

Old, battered rooms with gross carpet. loud AC, right by the ice / vending machines and a few yards above Columbus Ave. Impossible to sleep between the street noise and the noise in the hall. The place hasn't been ipdated in decades. Preling wallpaper, mismatched bulbs -- a total dive.

We made a last minute family trip to the ward for New Year’s and couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The front desk staff were wonderful—friendly, welcoming, and helpful from the moment we arrived. Parking was easy, our room was clean and comfortable, and the location felt safe and very convenient. Once the neighborhood fireworks ended, it was surprisingly quiet. We really enjoyed our stay as a family and would happily stay here again

Staff was so nice! The greeting alone every time we walked-in was hospitable. The location walking distance to North Beach, Chinatown, Fisherman’s Wharf, all within walking distance. No homeless n the streets and has a nearby Wallgreens and local bars and restaurants.

The building is vintage decor with old world elegance and our room had a view of Columbus Street which was pretty to see the city at dawn.

I always like to stay here when I'm visiting San Francisco, for two important reasons: (1) free self-parking, and (2) proximity to North Beach and the Wharf. The rooms are also comfortable and spacious. This time there was an added bonus: a nice view of the SF skyline out my window, with the TransAmerica Building, the Salesforce Tower and the Saints Peter and Paul Church in the distance. Downsides: (1) you can't plug a streaming device into the TV -- no HDMI port, and (2) the heater intermittently stopped blowing warm air into the room. Regardless, I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Plenty of shops nearby and indoor parking. You can see Alcatraz from the 3rd floor. The bathroom in the room we rented was not disability friendly.

We love staying at the Columbus Inn, a hidden gem in SF! Location couldn't be better, making restaurants walkable. Staff is wonderful and the rooms are big, comfy and very clean. We stay here every time in SF!

Might be dated looking but very clean and not foul smelling. Staff is super helpful and accommodating. One thing that could be possibly improved is the shower water pressure.

My family and I was there for a day to experience the 4th of July fireworks celebration held on the bay. Stay there allowed to walk to the event. Great customer service. Easy checking in close to places to eat and have a quick late night drink. Secured parking..

Great staff. Fantastic free parking. Clean room. Just a few short blocks to Fishermans Wharf and Ghirardelli square. Right by all of the public transporation like the bus and the cable car. If we were going somewhere else besides on those routes, everything was just a ahort Waymo or Uber away. Only one very small thing was our room didn't have a mini fridge.

We went to Bimbos for a concert so chose this for the location. Its basic. Decent for the price. Probably could use a renovation. The plus is the parking and the minus is the overall condition. The price was right for this minus so it equals out.

Our go to accommodations year after year. Spacious clean rooms, awesome service at the front desk, free parking, and a terrific location. Close to Fisherman's Wharf and the piers with all the wonderful restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel for a San Francisco visit.

We were skeptical, but this is such a great hotel! The friendliest staff, room was great, free parking, near so many activities. The checkin clerk ran out to us at our car to change our room to a better one, because he had had a cancellation.

This a 2 star motel absolutely under starred. Minimum 3 star this is an excellent motel. Drove from Las Vegas San Francisco to receive totally free parking included in the price. Plenty of eaterys and bars, especially the international bar across the road. Spacious room all fairly modern great access to the piers only 15 minutes walk for Alcatraz tours. Cannot say enough good about the Columbus motel. Just book and relax 😁😁😁

I liked that the property was easy to find. The free parking is wonderful! We are walking distance to the concert venue, restaurants, and a Walgreens if needed. The staff was very friendly upon our arrival and our room was very clean and comfortable. We’ll be back some day!

We had a great stay. FREE parking, spacious room, and comfy king size bed. Walkable to everything on the pier 39 and pier 33 Alcatraz, to the trolly"s and Lombard Street and seals. Bus # 30 stockton in front if you want to go to a Giants game and take the Hyde trolly back.Starbucks around the corner next to Mason trolly..Breakfast spots & Walgreens nearby. Not a 5-star hotel but a 5-star DEAL.Hidden Gem. Neighborhood is Quiet, we stayed 4 nights and walked alot and had No problems.

The staff was friendly at check in and check out. The room was clean as well as the restrooms. The only downside was the ice machine on our floor was broken but they told us in advance

Found a gem with this one when we came across Columbus. Fast friendly check in, nice spacious & clean room, good location not far to walk to Pier 39 and other attractions, also close to Cable car stop and has free parking too which made this great value accommodation. About the only slightly negative comment would be if you want a fridge in your room as I don’t believe they have them, wasn’t one in ours but even so this will still be our go to when we next visit San Francisco again, it was fantastic.

Location, parking

This is our first time to stay in this Inn and probably will not be the last time. Would like to keep this place secret to everyone else but for an honest review. The location of this place the free parking is just no brainer. We travelled in EU most times and we never look at how new or fancy the hotel is but the location and where it sits at. This one is in pretty good spot. Clost to Chinatown where my wife would like to eat. City center is walkable for my son to enjoy his love for modern architecture and Lombard street/ Coit tower/ Fishermans wharf are within 5-10 min walk. Hopefully this place stay the same way as is. And for nexr year I’ll book earlier.

The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfy, the water tasted fine, the staff were friendly, and my car was safe in the garage for a week. The location is also pretty great since it's near stuff and accessible to transit, including the cable cars.

It was totally fine. Better than expected actually. You look at the pictures and think it’s going to be all rundown, but aside from some old style (not old) furniture and ghastly (but excellent condition) bedding, it was a fine place to stay and super convenient.

Stayed here and went to a show nearby. Location was super convenient, staff was friendly, and room was clean and well-maintained. Walkable to Fisherman's Wharf and other SF spots. We had a great time and good night's rest.

My husband and I stay here every time we come to the city for an overnighter in North Beach. We have never been disappointed. The free parking is a Hugh plus and the location is perfect.

Hitel was clean and comfortable, only issue was the traffic noise, could do with better patio doors that keep the noise down. Orher tban that all was good especially having free parking tbat close to fisherman's whatf.

We loved the location of this property, it was easy to get to Fisherman's Wharf. Tony at reception was very friendly and went out of his way each day to check-in with us and see how our day was. The rooms are a little dated but dont let this put you off.

Cleanliness rating is most important to me. This hotel has a high cleanliness rating, but my room was filthy. Ridiculous stains on the curtains, and walls around the bed. They honestly looked like blood stains. Didn’t look like they really made an effort to clean them up either. Overall there was a bad stench to the whole room, and nothing in the room really seemed that clean. Should’ve asked for a different room, but I’m pretty sure there were no other rooms available. The pictures I’m don’t even do them justice.

We stayed for 2 nights in July. Whilst the hotel is a little worn in places it really is an excellent place to stay. The staff are fantastic, the location is excellent and they have amazingly comfortable beds. Also prices are good, especially given the local hotel pricing.

Location was great. A few blocks from Fishermans wharf and pier 39. Free parking was great but our car and around 8 others got broken into in the early morning. Windows were broken àlong with the office windows. It was random and i heard it happens often in San Francisco. Consider a place that is gated or has a security.

I loved my stay, the staff is excellent but the towels and linens seemed stale and not fresh especially the quilt, scratchy towels. . The coffee maker could use an upgrade,perhaps a mini kuerig. But overall a great place to stay! Will stay again! Thank you

Great location with excellent service, near North Beach and Fisherman’s Wharf has a parking garage and access to all San Francisco offers. The room furnishings are dated but, IMHO adds to the charm.

I arrived at the hotel early and the front lady made some room arrangement to let me check in earlier so I could put my luggage in the room. The on-site free parking is a huge plus. Strongly recommended and would like to stay here again.
