Reviews
The hotel received mixed reviews, with guests praising the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, but expressing dissatisfaction with the cleanliness of the rooms and the condition of the carpets. The location of the hotel was also a point of contention, with some guests feeling unsafe due to the presence of homeless people and drug users in the area.
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Convenient location for some events and attractions
- Dirty rooms and stained carpets
- Unsafe neighborhood with a high number of homeless people and drug users
- 2/5
The hotel had issues with the AC had to change rooms when i arrived because the neighbors were playing music and smoking at 2 am which made my room smell as if they were smoking in mine. The carpets are stained with every color stain you can think of and the location is not the safest that the staff recommended we uber to our location out of safety.

I liked how easy it was to park

Everything was wonderful!

We did not like anything about this property and definitely will not ever go back. The pictures are deceiving! The hotel had no amenities! Parking sucked! We were charged $55 a night for parking as guests and then on Saturday night we couldn’t find a spot to park because they let people who attended events near by park there. When speaking to the hotel staff at the front desk he was rude and was like you can come back after 1030pm to find a spot even though we were guests! They had no WiFi available! So disappointing. We definitely will not be recommending this place to any of our family or friends.
- 4.5/5
The staff was wonderful! There was an Asian gentleman who had worked there for over 20 years who was just lovely and funny and helpful in all the ways. The staff really made it a great experience. The hotel was centrally located to a show we were going to that allowed us to walk there. My friend and I really enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

Very good
- 3.5/5
Great location for our purposes. The staff were friendly and one of the security people took time to help us with specific walking directions to different places. Very underwhelming, stark, bare. I was glad we were there for just the one night as there was no warm, welcoming atmosphere/aesthetics in the lobby nor in the room itself.
- 3/5
Lot was full so parked down the street which cost $80 for 24 hours. Staff were great, very friendly, polite and helpful. Offered information on things close by and local. The room was plain but clean. No refrigerator, no mirrors or tables. It was fine. Hotel lobby was nice. I would stay there again to see the Phantom of the Opera at the Orpheum right across the street. All in all it was a good experience.
- 3/5
The room is just okay, very outdated.
- 4.5/5
Reception staff and security agents were friendly, cordial and very helpful! I'm a short person, so the high sink in bathroom was a bit of a challenge for me
- 5/5
Such an well kept, modern room! Loved my stay!
- 5/5
Modern esthetic paired with a very clean room. Parking included in stay was key especially in that area. Room was spotless clean and smelled fresh.
- 2/5
It was close by to City Hall, where my friends were getting married But I didn’t like about the property is all the stains in the carpet. There was no bar a restaurant. It was very basic. The lobby room was very nice looking but the rooms are always stains in the carpets dirty curtains
- 5/5
The location is perfect, especially if you're going to an event at the Bill Graham. The staff was amazing and I appreciate there is always security on-site.
- 0.5/5
Location to the Orpheum The bathroom tub had No plunger, the A/C knocked all night and we couldn’t use it, the room had all cheaply painted white walls like a Sanitarium, all the carpets (room & hallways) were stained, they had a motion activated light that blinded people in the middle of the night
- 3/5
The carpets were stained, the sheets & towels stunk, the tub backed up while you were showering, and the walls were paper thin so we could hear everything that the neighbors said which unfortunately did not stop until 2:30 am! I would not stay here again.
- 2.5/5
No coffee shop. No help with luggage
- 2/5
Will never be staying here again — got no sleep, the walls were paper thin. The rooms were super worn out that the walls were peeling and there was a lot of strange stains on the carpet. Someone even left a piece of gum in the floor that no one cleaned up. The staff was great, really friendly.
- 4/5
The staff was amazing. So friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but some stains on the carpet. Parking garage was good, but issues with the parking tickets working to leave hotel. Would stay again because of the location downtown
- 4/5
No bar or cafe as advertised.
- 1/5
The hotel room is not sound proof! We could hear all the noises from next rooms! At one point in the middle of the night, we thought someone was knocking at our door and we woke up so many times from noises during the night. While there is “incidental charge” from the hotel which is understandable, a $35 charge is not refundable and the staff told us that “THE $35 CHARGE IS BECAUSE WE CHOSE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL “

The centric location in downtown let going to several places in different parts of the city easily. However, the area vibes were quite rough. Extremely dirty windows both in bedroom and common areas (hallways, etc.). Not expecting this in 4 star hotel.

Worst hotel ive ever stayed at. There were ants in the bathtub. I called downstairs to ask if someone could bring me a bottle of water and I was on hold for 15 minutes just to be told no when she returned. The staff is useless.
- 3/5
Room overall was clean and better than expected. Crowd was very questionable. Deep odor of drugs and tobacco in common areas. No food options. Seems to be on life support as a business.

The hotel had a modern feel and a pretty spacious lobby and seating area. The staff was very friendly and helpful and made sure to keep any neighborhood riff raff off the property. The room was spacious and decently appointed. The bed and bedding were comfortable and had a modern headboard/nightstand combo with built in lights and outlets. The table and chairs were modern and worked for eating and general work. I enjoyed the view and the option to use the blackout shade to ensure a good night's rest. Pretty close to Moscone. Walkable and every easily taxi-able. If you're not looking for frills, it's a very good affordable option for the business traveler. And, there were a few working elevators (unlike what other reviews mentioned) that made sure that there was never more than a one minute wait. The water pressure was very light, which made for longer and less refreshing showers. The rooms have been refreshed, but there is a little lack of finishing work. Not a big deal and offset by the relative savings. The neighborhood was not great, but it is SF. I don't know if you can hold it against any hotel that's trying to have a property in the city. The air conditioning unit was an older style and a bit loud during operation. Not a deal breaker, but not something you see in a modern hotel that often nowadays. It still kept the room comfortable, and the room was insulated enought that once you got the temp the way you wanted, you could turn it off and still maintain the temp.

I feel like I paid more then what this hotel was worth. I got the cheap room and I literally got the cheap room. The lighting is very dim in the room. No refrigerator and the coffee maker did not make hot coffee. It made coffee but it was the same temp as the water I put in it. The carpet had some stains like it was in need of a good cleaning or just needs new carpet. The staff is good though, no problems there. I just don't like overpaying for a room. The previous week I got a suite in San Jose at a Marriott hotel for $137 with free parking. This place I paid over $200 and got a basic room that was probably comparable to Motel 6 or Super 8. Pretty disappointed as I've stayed here numerous times and always had a decent room. I know it's SF and everything is expensive.

- 2/5
Weird hotel for sure — the walls were so thin we heard *everything* our neighbors were doing. Interesting night
- 2/5
The room itself was clean, yet very outdated. There was a lot of strange behavior in the building that honestly reflected sex work. The hotel is situated in the middle of Skid Row. Homelessness, drug use openly, and people even using the bathroom on the sidewalks.
- 2/5
The Property was showing 9.2 on expedia but the it was crap.
- 1/5
Not a good hotel, stained carpets, dried blood on the wall, a smelly room and what I think were uncleaned sheets (that made me have an acne breakout). The team refused to refund me for my second night!
- 3/5
The staff at the front desk was always friendly and helpful, but you needed to go down to the front desk to get help because the phones didn't connect properly. More than half the TV channels didn't work and casting to the TV did not work either (they even let us try in another room... Same, half channels were broken and so was casting). Rooms were Spartan. Not much other than the beds and one wooden chair, so you have to put a lot of your stuff on the floor. Our room did not have a fridge. (The room whose TV they let us check did so maybe we got a bad room, I don't know.) The carpet had a large stain and the duvet had holes in it, so it felt shabby but not unclean. Loved that they had filtered water and ice available on each floor so we could keep our reusable bottles filled. All in all felt pretty overpriced but was exactly where we needed to be location wise and nothing was a deal breaker. Very middle of the road stay.

I stayed at BEI San Francisco, Trademark Collection by Wyndham about 10 days ago and had a great experience. I was given an excellent room, which made my stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Because of that positive experience, I decided to book the same hotel again for another 3-night stay. I am currently still staying at the hotel and I expect this situation to be addressed immediately. I would like to be moved to a proper room that matches the standard of my previous stay or have this issue resolved without delay. Unfortunately, this time the experience has been completely different and very disappointing. I was assigned a room that feels unfinished and poorly equipped. The room has no mirror, no armchair, no decoration at all, no desk lamp, and not even a digital control for the air conditioning. It is clearly a downgrade in every possible way compared to my previous stay at the same hotel. It is unacceptable to have such inconsistent standards within the same property. The contrast between the two experiences is shocking, and it completely undermines the trust I had in this hotel. I am genuinely frustrated and disappointed with this experience.
- 5/5
One working elavator ??? To only 5 people allows in there too ?? That’s ridiculous!! The wait for an 14 foot story building for one elavator was ridiculous
- 3/5
Parking was easy to access and simple to pay for. My main issues were with the cleanliness of the rooms, like the floor being dirty, shower not clean and the dining table in the room had crumbs on it. Another issue was the elevator, several times it took me 10 minutes to get down to the lobby because the elevators were so slow. Also in the bathroom the faucet had too high of pressure and it wend
- 2/5
This is a 1 star hotel that advertises as a 4 star. They only had 1 working elevator and only allowed 5 people at a time on it. Evidently, the other 3 elevators have been down for several weeks. The rooms are bare bones. No lamps, stains on carpet, lights are all on timers, and barely any furniture in them. They have a bar space in the lobby area, but the hours of operation are sporadic and the role the booze out on a cart when they do decide to open it. I would not recommend this hotel at all.
- 4/5
Nice staff. :)
- 5/5
The facility was great! The location was ideal despite a few areas where less than desirable populations exist. By no means is BEI at fault , the city and local PD need to do a better job and keep desirable areas of the city free of homeless individuals. The room was spacious, cozy and up to date. The hotel offers amazing views of city hall and the city.
- 2/5
Do not stay here - stains on wall to wall carpet, and on walls. Room not properly cleaned - hair (and stains) in bathroom. Location not good - must be methadone clinics nearby. The front staff were excellent, having to work hard to accommodate the terrible state of the room. Be advised no hotel amenities, nor much in the neighborhood.
- 5/5
Parking was easy
- 3/5
However only one elevator out of 4 worked and it’s a 15 story building so wait times were common. Sometimes they let us use the service elevator. The lobby area looks like and has potential to be awesome but right now nothing more than a small front desk. Bar and coffee shop are there but only in concept I guess. Maybe it will continue to get better
- 3/5
Clean room, easy parking, at the time of this stay only 2 of the 6 elevators were working and only allowed 5 people per elevator. One elevator in the front, and if you know the secret, one service elevator in the back. After a nice concert at the Bill Graham it took forever to get to our room because of the wait for the elevator. And definitely put the do not disturb sign up if you want to sleep past 8:30 am as housekeeping is knocking on your door, opening it, and the whole hallways doors too, at 8:30am asking if your need service or are checking out. Ruined my morning for sure.
- 4.5/5
Neighborhood is a little sketchy, but fine if you park inside hotel.
- 1/5
The hotel is just pictures , lobby is beutiful and working places but when you in the room are totally different, old bathrooms with basic soap and small rooms , the gym is not the same as pictures is just a room with basic dumbbells and waiter , no room service , I felt like this place is overpriced for what you get I don’t recommend it at all 👎
- 1/5
This was one of the most barebones rooms I've ever stayed in.
- 2/5
Essentially paid $500 for two nights but the room had no fridge or microwave. TV also wasn’t functioning properly and when front desk was contacted, no issues were solved. Texting staff also wasn’t helpful as they did not respond back.
- 2/5
This was by far the worst room I've booked. Everything was filthy, water wouldn't drain in the bathroom sink due to some kind of blockage. The coffe machine, fridge, ice machine were disgusting. The A/C and heater was full of dust, mold, etc. Beds were on the ground for some reason. No artwork, no amenities. Only perk was the nice staff. Will never be staying at this hotel.
- 3/5
Parking was $63 on top of room fees. Only one elevator was working for a 16-floor busy hotel. Beds weren't great, but not the worst. The carpet and shower were dirty. The downstairs bar was closed.
- 1/5
Only 1 elevator was working so most people were using the service elevator. Front desk lady was rude.
- 0.5/5
Absolutely nothing I stayed at BEI Hotel San Francisco on March 14, 2026 and it was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. When I arrived, the lobby was extremely chaotic. There was about an hour wait just to speak to the receptionist, which is completely unacceptable after traveling. It appeared the hotel was hosting some kind of party or event, and the music was blasting so loudly that it could be heard throughout the entire hotel. It felt more like a nightclub than a hotel. When I finally got to the front desk, they couldn’t even find my reservation at first, which added even more time to the already ridiculous wait. After eventually sorting it out, I went up to my room hoping things would improve. Unfortunately, it got worse. The room was clearly not cleaned or prepared after the previous guest. The bed wasn’t made, the room looked dirty, and it was obvious housekeeping had not been through it. After already waiting an hour just to check in, arriving to a room in that condition was incredibly frustrating and unacceptable
- 3/5
Great hotel and location for San Francisco Bill Graham. Only 1/4 elevators EVER work. Can take 15 minutes to get up or down.
- 4.5/5
Location, comfort Only one elevator works which only holds five people max. Four other elevator’s don’t work.
- 5/5
It was close to a venue and it was walking distance. Plus they upgraded us to a different room since there was a party going on on the level we were supposed to stay at so that was pretty awesome. No extra charge. There was only one elevator working when we stayed need to have all elevators working. It took too long to go up to our room and had to wait up to five minutes.
- 2/5
Only one elevator that works. A bar in the lobby that is not operational. The lobby is clean but the rooms are dated and old. No furniture for sitting and no table or desk for working. Would not recommend.
- 5/5
Great stay. Room was clean, staff were all helpful and professional. Will definitely stay again!

Very basic. Just one coffee pod even though we were two of us. Sliding bathroom door that didn’t close fully. Bare minimum furniture. Would not stay again.

Pretty average, especially for the price we paid (2.5-3x normal) during Super Bowl weekend. Also paid $35/day + tax for amenities - fitness room very sparse without towels or cleaning wipes, even though they recommend cleaning equipment after use. Not sure if there are any other amenities. Maxwell House coffee in room and virtually no bathroom amenities. Only 4 towels. Elevators old. Positives - good ice and filtered water machine on every floor, clean room, comfortable bed, refrigerator and safe in room, and friendly staff. Old elevators. Self parking $55/day plus 14% tax.

Photos that are on their page are not updated accordingly to what it looks like currently. It needs a huge update or just a better managerial system since a lot of things were dirty and stained scratched and damaged and moldy. How much instruction once you get there you're pretty much have to figure it out yourself Plus couldn't really understand a person at the front desk

Such an awful experience. Towels smelled bad, replacing them did nothing as it’s an issue of how they wash them. Room had stains on floor and walls. Outside is terrible, unwalkable area, dangerous, noisy. Room next to mine had a speaker at around 11 pm on a weekday- had to go down to the lobby 4 different times and they did nothing so they ultimately switched my room when I came down for the 4th time. Was supposed to be an “upgrade” however was the exact same room. I checked out three nights earlier than my stay was.

The stay was awful. PGE shut off power to the hotel and all amenities were shut off. We came for one night and were super excited about our one night away from our three children to see a play at the Orpheum and the hotel was very lacking. So disappointed. And when we asked about waiving fees or compensation for the room, the hotel said they would discount our parking pass, but we paid full price.

They have old carpet that is very worn and stained. I asked for different room with better carpet; ot got worst. Six different rooms and all the carpet was the same 😩. The room is basic and only 1 step up from the motel.

No frills hotel. It feels like they spent all their money on the lobby. Rooms were ok, minimal. Shower curtain was missing liner and hair in the shower. Not sure what was going on with the elevators, but had to use the service elevator half the time. It was centrally located and easy to get around. If you just want some place to lay your head, it’s not bad.

It was our first time in SF and we decided to go for New Years. Upon arriving the host at the check in desk did not greet us, was not informative, and dry. Usually hosts are very enthusiastic, they are informative and go the extra mile. On top of that I was charged double than what I thought I payed for. I am aware of deposits etc. but these were extra extra fees that totaled to double the price. Parking was not only $50 PER NIGHT but very sketchy. There was no security guard and anyone could just go in the parking structure. There were “ PARK AT YOUR OWN RISK HOTEL IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY BREAK INS” there were a lot of these signs. Too many in red. If that wasn’t bad enough the ROOM was disgusting!!!! STAINS everywhere on the carpet, mold in the restroom, room phone was old and not working! I was so disappointed that instead of staying the full 4 days we stayed just that 1 night and booked at a nice 4 star hotel. (That was exactly what they advertised) picture and price matched what was online. Along with information that this HoTEL DID NOT Provide!! I was with my 2 children and did not feel safe by staying there. I’m not usually a complainer and do not write reviews but I just had to say this. I’ve have stayed at 2 star hotels better than this “ 3 star hotel”. Definitely NOT WORTH THE EXTRA EXTRA FEES!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! DEFINITELY DO NOT STAY THERE WITH KIDS!!

The towels were unclean. smelled horrible... bathroom was not clean and has remains from a previous traveler. When I arrived, I was waiting for the elevator in the parking area for 30 min. I ultimately decided to take the stairs to check in. after checking in I was charged nearly 400 dollars more than what I had agreed on. Once I checked out I was not given a receipt and was told to call back another day because they couldnt do it.

Ice machine was not working on my floor and tried to call it in a few times, but no one would answer. Elevator light was flickering inside and the elevator it's self seemed sketchy. Maybe it was just me. Other then that the place is fine. Just wish the beds weren't so low to the ground.

Rooms definitely need an update. Carpets were stained and showers were okay. Kinda weird though that all the rooms on my side of the hallway could access each other via balcony…didn’t feel super safe… all the guest elevators were broken so we had to use stairs or service elevator. Staff and parking were nice though.

Walls are paper thin. You can hear everything from the other rooms to the street noise outside. Carpet was badly stained. Only one elevator works so there are long delays and even when the elevator finally does arrive it’s completely packed. The only positive aspect is that the staff was friendly.

The downstairs lobby is clean and presentable, but we found of the 4 elevators all were down but the back hall service elevator day one. Day 2, one main elevator, which requires key card access, was running. Access to the service elevator did not require card access and remained available, bypassing the security card access requirement. Carpet in the hallways and rooms were dirty and stained and the dirty room windows did not allow us to appreciate the city view. Staff were polite, helpful, and courteous!!

I’ve stayed here multiple times and every time the staff is always sweet and have a smile on their face. The rooms seem to be clean besides the bathtubs they always seem to be dirty or clogged and there’s always just the 1 main elevator working and it takes forever but other then that it’s enjoyable!

- 5/5
The front desk folk were phenomenal: cheerful, kind, and helpful. The room itself? It... could use some good deep cleaning/refreshing. The hallway carpets look like someone put too much bleach everywhere yet it was still dirty. There was also a gap in my door and I could hear every person walking by. Overall, good value, great customer service, moderately poor condition. I'd stay again, but only if I didn't have other options.
- 1/5
There was people parking there for a play and only one elevator worked which only holds 5 people. There were drug addicts and homeless people sitting in front of the building and coming inside the building. The hotel is not as clean in the inside and the towels was hard. We was told that they just got rid of the towel company and looking for a new one. The overall experience was horrible and I will never in my life recommend this hotel to anyone, not even my dog. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website. With all the drama going on they did not even want to take nothing off the price of the room.
- 2/5
Furnishings were minimal in a way that felt philosophical — just a bed and a counter doing triple duty as desk, dresser, and TV stand, hovering bravely over a lonely mini-fridge. Think of the last decent hotel you stayed in, then remove everything that made it comfortable. Bonus features included a pubic hair clinging to the shower ceiling (a bold design choice) and an elevator light show flickering under a five-year-old inspection sticker. But hey, the property was almost okay — if you squint and lower your standards.
- 3/5
The rooms came at a reasonable price, so I suppose you get what you pay for. I’m used to paying that price in most areas of the country and finding nicer facilities. All the carpets in the building were torn up and ugly. Clearly not changed for decades. The room and the entire facilities just seems rundown. The neighborhood is filled with junkies. I'm aware this is not the fault of the hotel owners. It's just a shame.
- 3/5

It was an okay stay. There were stains in the carpet. Bathroom tiny for executive high floor, no standing mirror or lamps on the side of bed. The ac unit blew out the last night we were there.

We stayed here for a concert at the Warfield which was walkable from this hotel which is why I chose it. There were plenty of good eats within walking distance and the staff were very helpful and friendly!
- 2/5
picture a 14 floors hotel almost at capacity with only one working elevator. ABSOLUTELY not ok. and then has the AUDACITY to charge a $35 daily fee called "destination fee". no restaurant, no bar, no breakfast, and $5 laundry room. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT OK AND I WILL BE FILLING A DISPUTE WITH MY CC COMPANY.
- 3/5
The room was very clean, yet very basic. No refrigerator, no full length mirror. The bed and bathroom were fine. When calling the front desk, before I checked in, no one ever answered. Plus, of the 4 elevators in the hotel, only ONE was operational. Given the rate, these things could be improved. Also, if driving, traffic can make it almost impossible to get around.
- 3/5
The staff was great everyone was very helpful and kind. The lobby was nice. The room was ok but the carpet had some stains. It didn’t come with water bottles either so we had to have refreshments delivered. The lights in the room were automatic bright and kept turning on in the middle of the night when I had to use the restroom. The room was hot and didn’t stay cool so it got warm at night. The water pressure in the shower was nice and got hot fast. The location is very convenient when it came to the festival we went toss overall it was an ok stay

Elevators not working
- 1/5
The room we checked in was not what the picture described. Red stain in the carpet. No fridge and microwave on the floor. Toilet looked slightly used. The area around the hotel was horrible, a lot of drug addicts. Did not feel safe
- 2/5
Nice property in a rapidly improving area of the city, but go three blocks in any direction and it gets kind of rough. My biggest complaint though is the mattress on the bed was absolutely awful. Way too soft and worn out. Kept waking up with back pain
- 1/5
I switched rooms 4 times because there were people smoking on the 4th floor patio filling my room with smoke, there was fecal stains on the sheet in another room, the a/c wasn’t working in the next room, and the shower wouldn’t drain. All this over 3 days was the worst hotel stay of my life. I have written management with no response very disappointed that Wyndham would let this property treat its customers like this.
- 5/5
Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Room was okay except for the very dirty rug. Had multiple questionable stains. The window shade was also not in good shape. Other than that it was okay.
- 3/5
The Hotel is decent condition however the elevator situation needs to be fixed. For the price of the room, the extra fee for parking and the more than anywhere else deposit leaves plenty of money to fix the elevators. There are 4 but only one was ever working and there are way to many floors for that to work. Invest in fixing your elevators!
- 5/5
Enjoyed the convenience and the location, friendly staff and comfortable facilities. Thanks!

Room was depressing. Area is even more so.
- 3/5
It’s in a weird area, lots of homeless, poop everywhere. hotel was a bed, tv and dresser nothing more. my hotel I checked into was dirty and covered in hair, staff just changed my room.
- 2/5
About out an hour long wait at the front deak, my check in time was after 4pm and finally when my family get into the room. First thing I found hair on toilet seat, hair on tub, hair on pillow, some kinds of rubber ring on the floor, a peice of pop corn at corner of the room and later I found it out some issue with tub drainage with bunch hair. Also I set my checkout time to be 11am but a hotel staff knock the door once and open the enterance door themselves around 9 am when my family was still in the bed. So so disappointed. I will never go back this facility.
- 3/5
Carpet had numerous stains & makes you wonder how clean the room really is while staying.

- 1/5
The elevators didnt work. The one that did you could hear banging in our room. The was a live roach in the room. It crawled out from under a bag that was on the counter. The carpet in the room and hallways was filthy. They didnt bring up anything that we asked for when we called down to the desk. When the toilet flushed it groaned for 5 minutes afterward. Black mold in the shower. This hotel looks like they took an abandoned building. But a face on it and some paint and it became a popup hotel. I woukd nit recommend it to anyone, regardless of the pri e.
- 4/5
The bad: No fridge or microwave in the rooms, dirty windows (I really like clear views!), and there seemed to be only one working elevator so the wait was more than 15 minutes, perhaps longer if we didn't decide to take the stairs down from the 9th floor!
- 1/5
I felt uncomfortable staying in such an unsanitary environment and decided to check out the same night. I contacted the booking platform for a refund, but my request was denied. This property is not as advertised, and the hygiene standards are far below what I would expect from any hotel. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
- 3/5
The room was a great size and the bathroom was great! Biggest downside was the elevator was out of service so coming home there would be a line for the elevator
- 1/5
I’ve tried calling no response out on hold disconnected . Tomorrow I plan to dispute charges . We did not stay st hotel due to filth
- 2/5
Mysterious stains on carpet. No housekeeping for whole stay. Nice front desk.
- 3/5
They had one working elevator for 15+ floors. It took quite a while and once we finally got on it- it took another 5 minutes to get to the lobby. (It only allowed 5 ppl on at a time). The front desk staff wasn’t friendly and unapologetic. They have automatic lights that turn on in the room which was annoying in the middle of the night. Room was very noisy with city and hallway noise and we were on the 11th floor.
- 5/5
Helpful, accommodating staff. Very nice hotel in a seemingly not so nice neighborhood to be in during the weekend.
- 2/5
Rooms basic and patio dirty
- 1/5
This is the worst hotel that I’ve stayed at in my entire life. I’ve stayed at motels better than this. Right outside the entrance, you’ll be greeted by groups of junkies. When you’re not dodging used needles, you’ll have to narrowly avoid stepping in feces. While this is advertised as a 4-star hotel in the Financial District, it’s a run down motel on the cusp of the Tenderloin, one of SF’s most run-down and dangerous neighborhoods. As for the rooms? The carpet was absolutely atrocious - they didn’t even bother cleaning up the blood stains. I’ve lived in just about every major city, and I thought I’ve seen “bad” neighborhoods, but this area of SF is borderline apocalyptic.
- 2/5

Decent hotel……perfect location for civic center events…..things were stained but clean enough….elevator still broken…..staff were awesome!
- 2/5
Our room was disgusting, there were stains on the floor and we barely had any counter space for items. This hotel reminds me of a cheap hotel that just got a paint job. Everything was expensive, if you’re parking your car you’ll pay an extra $60 per night along with their dumb service charge. Next time, I will pay the extra hundred dollars per night to be at a nice hotel.
- 4/5
Great location and staff was amazing
- 2/5
Low-end. Bare-bones furniture. Old nasty carpet. Rough towels. Lobby looks nice but rooms are like a hostel.
- 3/5
Property is old and run down. It was a busy weekend and only one elevator was working. Forcing us to climb five flights of stairs to our room, The hotel has a parking garage, but they charge $60 a day to use it. Carpet was stained in the room.
- 2/5
Nothing was nice about this hotel! The pricing structure looks more like a scam than a deal!
- 1/5
Room wast ready, they lied about event shittle, lied about included amenities, the elevator was sketchy
- 3/5
NO recognition of my diamond wyndham status during the entire stay
- 3/5
Rooms are not like shown on the pictures.
- 3/5
2. During the stay all 4 guest elevators were out of service and only 1 of the a service elevators were working 3. Area surrounding the property was not best. Homeless and drug users
- 4/5
I stayed for three nights. When I checked in, 3 of the 4 elevators were broken and the entire building was using one elevator. Within a few hours, the fourth elevator was also out of service and all guests and staff all had to share the one working service elevator or take the stairs. Not ideal with luggage. Lines of the one service elevator were often very long, and on every floor, when it would arrive it was often already full. No communication went out to tell guests they were making any effort to fix the elevators, and at no point were work crews present fixing the elevators. And upon checkout I was stuck taking the stairs with several suitcases to get to my car.
- 2/5
We’ve stayed there twice before, but this time was a disappointment. Not one elevator was working … no explanation from management, and no workers working on it the entire time. Had to use a service elevator with long wait times and frustrated guests. Not acceptable for a Wyndham flag property. All this and was charged a “resort fee” for WHAT??? This is not a resort and there are no amenities. Resort fees are for amenities. And this property didn’t even have ONE operable elevator out of 4!! Not one!!! Unacceptable! I would like the resort fee refunded, or it is very unlikely I will ever stay at a Wyndham property again.
- 1/5
The maid service was also terrible - they didnt clean surfaces or vacuum, they just replace the towels and made the bed (no new sheets). We will be asking for a partial refund.
- 4/5
There were 4 guest elevators - all not working. There were 2 service elevators - only one working. Staff and guests had to share 1 elevator in a 13 story building. FIX the elevators.
- 1/5
the hotel rooms were in poor condition. Damages were painted over. Water stains were painted over and you can see the paint peeling off. Very dusty, and not well kept. Sheets were damage and falling apart.
- 1/5
Called for some towels took over an hour and having to call 2 more times to remind/make sure we got them
- 3/5
Floors were stained and dirty. TV cords exposed. Noisy.

The room they gave me had a very bad blanket — it was full of scratches and in poor condition. 😂😂Good thing is they give me a new blanket.
- 5/5
Great location near Bill Graham
- 3/5
slow check-in (about 30 mins), 4 elevators but only 1 worked and was taken to a service elevator in the back, the room was okay, not great though as the bed linen had thread tears, carpet was dirty, ac was slightly dusty so we had to clean a bit, in the end it was fine because we just needed it for a weekend as we stayed there bc it was walking distance from bill graham
- 3/5
There were four elevators, but only one was working. It took forever to get on and off the elevator. Many people stated that this was an ongoing issue for years.
- 5/5
Its a great place to come in for a nice weekend and enjoy san francisco.
- 5/5
Good place to stay just parking lot too much .. I don’t understand if you already stay at the hotel you have pay 60 dollars for parking
- 3/5
Elevators didnt really work or were over taxed with o ly 1 of 4 working. Hallways floors all stained and smell.
- 3/5
Booked a quick one night stay here and I expected a better experience. With 10 floors I would expect all 4 elevators to work, but unfortunately only 1 elevator was working and only 5 people at a time which caused a long line and wait. When we got to the room it was clean and well maintained, which I love. I just wished that they’d atleast put a small table in the room for their guest to eat on. The ac was blowing very little air and the bathroom does not have a vent which can cause stuffiness. Overall, I’d stay here again if they can get the elevators to work because walking up those stairs was painful
- 1/5
Terrible place. None of the 4 elevators worked. In the picture it looks like theirs a bar and a cafe in the hotel which is not true. Rooms and hotel need to be updated and it’s dirty. And they keep charging me over hundreds of dollars and we only stayed one night via Expedia. This place is a scam
- 1/5
The elevator was broken so they told us to take the stairs, only to find out that other guests were using the service elevators, and only one of those worked so the entire hotel was sharing one elevator. The room itself was below average. the pictures of the lobby are very impressive, so you can see what they invested their money in. The shower didn't drain and the soap was completely empty. the automatic lights in all the rooms were incredibly annoying and didn't work well at all. Lastly they didn't have the room that I booked available so they moved me to a cheaper one without any sort of discount or anything.
- 2/5
All main elevators were down and only one service elevator was working for the entire weekend. The hotel parking garage did not have any more space after 11pm on Saturday night because it’s also open to the public. Forcing guests who pay for parking to drive around or park on the street. This was my second time staying at this hotel and i expected better. My first stay there was amazing and prompted me to rebook but no longer on my list.
- 3/5
Person at front desk was friendly and helpful; however, the hotel had eliminated the operator, the restaurant, and the bar. The hotel appears to have taken a cost-cutting approach to overall service.
- 1/5
Its beautiful on the outside but trashy, dirty and unsantized on the inside
- 2/5
Booked this hotel because it’s within walking distance from Bill Graham music venue. Room I paid for wasn’t available due to cleaning staff issues. Room was mediocre. Elevator out of service, we have to use service staff elevator. No restaurant in the premises
- 2/5
Then the downfall started. Two of six elevators worked Friday night then only one service elevator. To make it down to the lobby it was either 20+ minute wait for an elevator and travel any direction it was going just to be able to be one of the five people allowed in by security. The stairs were also frequently used and unclean. Hallways and our room carpets felt unclean because of the amount of stains. The beds on the other hand were comfy. On the second night of our stay the parking was full. The front desk receptionist refunded our parking and offered a suggestion of where to park. Upon check out I asked the front desk if we were able to be refunded the amenity charge as we didn’t use them because of the lack of operating elevators and parking. I definitely do not recommend staying here until they’ve fixed the elevator situation.

Have stayed here before and it was good. This time was a nightmare. Fire alarm went off at 3am and again it he next day. Not their fault. However they could not get the elevator to work after the all clear was sounded, so had to walk up 12 floors to return to the room. Aside from that only one of 4 elevators work. So wait times were very long. Also noticed the one remaining elevator is several years past inspection. The staff is very nice and the location is perfect by Union Station and Market. But clearly management does not care about basic safety and repairing elevators. Clearly 3 elevators did not go out at the same time.

Only one functional elevator which made getting in or out at busy times a pain. At one point we were all using the service elevator. The staff was nice. Abundant carpet and wall stains detract from feeling of cleanliness. Location was great, especially for pride events and easy access to public transport.

Stains everywhere, dusty, grungy looking rooms. Also alarms went off

First off we couldn’t get into hotel due to roads being blocked for festival we were very unaware of! The hotel staff wouldn’t answer phone for over an hour. Once we finally got in and settled the room was decent. Clean and big with okay view on the 12th floor. Around 3am a false fire alarm had gone off for someone smoking in the building!!! 12 floors down stairs to the lobby to find out everything was okay an hour later! Poor person in a wheelchair stuck because elevator wouldn’t work! Finally get back to bed and asleep. Around 11 am alarm went off again!!!! Now leaving the guy in the wheelchair upstairs with no way down besides people to carry him down! It was a disaster!!! I hope they get some help after this weekend it was not good a experience

Fire alarm went off 2 times in one night. Evacuated twice. No offers or free night. Nothing. They tried to charge me $50 for extra hour. I’m very upset. Everything broke. And dirty. Just really disappointed especially for price. Never again. No matter how close it is to civic center

It was in a convenient location for the pride parade and the bed was pretty comfortable. However there were 2 instances were the fire alarm was triggered resulting in all guests moving to the lobby and out of the building. The elevators were unreliable and took forever and could only fit 5 people at a time.

Parking sucked because closed roads. No one was answering the front desk phone. Room was terrible and not worth the money. Stayed at holiday inn in town that wasss wayyyyy better quality. Not worth the $500 we paid for 2nights

I personally would not recommend this hotel for anybody they had four elevators and only one worked on one of the days we had to use the service elevator because the last working one stopped. My brother‘s room he found a used condom on the bedframe.

Carpets very dirty. Elevators out of service ( only one working) NO restaurant or bar ( it was always closed) and the area is not the best. I lt seems it was a beautiful hotel but now looks deteriorating.

My colleague and her partner felt so threatened and unsafe at this property which looks NOTHING like the pictures, btw, that they had to cancel and stay elsewhere. They were also freaked out by the parking garage and convinced that the artwork they were picking up on our gallery's behalf would be STOLEN by morning. Sketchy. Sketchy. Sketchy !

The hotel has a bar but it was closed the whole 5 days I was here except for one night when there was some random event that had no signage to indicate what it was for? And it wasn’t clear if guests were invited or if it was a private event. Fixtures in the shower were rusting. Bedcloths were very thin and heavily snagged and pilling. Carpet stained and kind of smelled. Otherwise, perfectly serviceable.

It's a very nice hotel, but the age is showing in the furniture and carpet. There is a lot of space in the room.

Just okay-nothing exceptional.

First, there was only one functioning elevator during the entire duration of my stay. The elevator buttons were unresponsive, wait times exceeded 10 minutes, and it consistently arrived overcrowded with 8–10 guests at a time. This was a major inconvenience and safety concern. Second, both payment terminals at the front desk were non-functional. I waited in the lobby for over 30 minutes while the machines repeatedly rebooted and failed to process card payments. Ultimately, I had to ask another guest to use their tap-to-pay feature and Venmo them, as the system could not read chip cards. This is highly unprofessional and unacceptable for any hotel. Third, there was a significant discrepancy between the online reservation and the charge at check-in. My booking was confirmed online at approximately $400, but I was charged nearly $700 upon arrival. No clear explanation was given, and the lack of transparency was frustrating. Lastly, although I received approval for a late check-in through the hotel’s website and text system, I was repeatedly disturbed by staff via phone calls and in-person visits to my room, questioning my check-in status. It created an uncomfortable and unwelcoming environment. Overall, this was one of the most poorly managed hotel experiences I’ve had. Between technical issues, billing inconsistencies, and intrusive service, I cannot in good

Hotels.com charged me a resort fee of $70.01 in ADDITION to the $41.20/day resort fee during checkout. Hotels.com were not upfront about the total cost of this stay which is disappointing.

I had a great time staying at BEI Hotel. The hotel staff is very accommodating for an early check-in. I hope to stay at BEI on my next visit.

The property was in a good location for walking to the civic center and town hall area. The lobby was nice and big. The room was nice. Our view wasn’t the greatest. We looked out on a decaying building. The carpet could have used a cleaning. First time in San Francisco and we enjoyed it.

The stay was good. No complaints. Although I did request a high floor with a view. My view was of the building directly next to us. There was no desk in the room which was troubling since I had work to do. Otherwise, great location, very secure parking!
