We liked wooden spoon restaurant nearby, room a little tight for 4 people and parking tight as well but we were able to find a spot both evenings.

Close to the part of San Francisco I was hangout out at and everything I needed was in walking distance. This was my second stay at the Becks Motor Lodge and I will stay there again in the future.

Parking made it nice and easy to come and go. Walking distance from plenty of coffee shops and bars.

Everything was pretty good. The only complaint I have is that the walls are thin so you can hear people in other rooms talking, watching TV, the train outside etc.

Since the remodel, the place really shines now, the room was clean, the bathroom was large for the room size, which really made our stay quite pleasant. The location in regards to the area we were visiting was excellent.

Property was nice and clean and had been renovated. Enjoyed our stay it’s nice. They gave us earplugs because the restaurant across the street plays loud music until 10 o’clock and after that it was fine. We will come stay there again thanks

The only negative is paper thin walls so unfortunately although it’s a great location, I got no sleep whatsoever. You can hear everything from the people next-door and People above as well.

The desk person was very friendly and helpful. The room was exactly what we needed for a night out dancing in the castro. The proximity to where we were going is clutch! We just walked to the cafe, saving us on Uber fare. Sue Ellen at the front desk upgraded our room to one with two beds, so we got our own bed each of us. It was very nice! We will return next time we go dancing in the Castro.

Convenient and welcoming

The security gates are so loud when they close. You can hear people upstairs using the toilet. Great location for our hospital visit at UCSF on Divisadero. Lots of local restaurants.

This is a great little place to stay in the Castro. My friend and I stayed for 1 night for a concert, and it was a great location and very comfortable bed!!!!! Slightly noisy being right on Market street but honestly wasn’t terrible. Highly recommend !

Check in was a breeze. Parking was available but there were limited spots so I’d recommend getting there as close to check in time as possible. The room was very clean and a good size. We absolutely loved the shower. The area was very quiet at night and we slept great. Would highly recommend and we’ll be back for sure.

Great spot, Ed at the front desk was flexible, helpful, and personable—and allowed us to both check in early and check out late. There's an elevator, which we didn't expect (but appreciated). Fun neighborhood, less than 10 mins to the gorgeous views at Dolores Park, multiple excellent espressos and coffee within 10 mins, brunch at the Wooden Spoon down the street was fantastic. Basic amenities but really cute retro spot. Highly recommend.

Staff was amazing— welcomed us and was always available when we wanted recommendations. Rooms were spacious, clean, and unexpectedly quiet on a busy street. Loved hanging on the patio and free parking was a huge benefit. Would definitely stay here again!

The best thing about this place is the location. For the price, it can’t be beat. There are no amenities, just a room. Room was clean enough, very small, and no frills. Staff was meh, parking is limited and fills up quickly, so plan accordingly if you had a car. I’d say here again just because it’s the only reasonably priced accommodations in the area.

Parking is key here, since the Castro is so close, and parking is a high comodity. When I checked out I mentioned I was going for breakfast and then shopping in the Castro and the clerk generously offered to let me keep my car in the parking lot while I went into the Castro. This is a perfect place to say and have access to this historic district and the parking is just a cherry on that sundae!

It was an older motel but renovated and super close and convenient to where we wanted to go. It felt safe and the little area above the drive way was so cute. My sister and I didn’t get a chance to eat there but we would like to if we stay again. I think it was worth the price, it was surprisingly quiet for being in the city and had really good coffee places and restaurants in the area all within walking distance. The staff was all great and overall felt clean and secure.

Check in was super easy and parking was convenient. The staff at the front desk were friendly. Loved that it was walking distance to the Castro theater where we were seeing a show. The only downside was the shower kind of smelled musty. But everything else was clean and the decor on the walls was fab.

Speedy internet, great AC, clean linens/towels and cleaning service daily, location cannot be beat! We were walking distance to so many things, would return again!

We are originally from this neighborhood, my kids were born here. We came to visit and what a perfect stay. Best location. Super clean. Cute room. Easy check in and out and communication. The parking lot massive bonus, but if you don’t have a car the location is a dream. Absolutely recommend!

Really enjoyed my stay. Loved that parking is included. Will be staying again when I am in the area! The only note is that the walls are thin so you can hear a lot of the noise around you but that didn’t bother me too much!

I travel quite a bit for business and normally stay in more upscale hotels but I would definitely stay here again. Very clean, safe, and nice people. Room was stocked with coffee and lots of outlets. Free wifi and had a video call in the am, no problem.

All in all rooms were very clean. The property was very clean. The only thing I did not like was there was no water pressure in the shower because the showerhead was leaking and when I called the front desk, they said it would be fixed tomorrow and it was never fixed.

Room was huge and nicely situated for privacy between the bathroom and bedroom. We were located in the rear (R) sect, which is very quiet, with a pleasant outlook onto the Victorians of tree-lined 15th Street. Shower, as always at Beck’s, was terrific. Room was promptly cleaned each day.

This hotel is excellently placed in the middle of the Castro and would offer an ideal location for a family visiting the city because of the proximity with public transportation and the liveliness of the Castro neighborhood. It is however very poorly cared. We opened the room to face unbreathable air, stuffy, stinky and awfully humid. AC are kept off when guests are not in the room, and cannot be set below a certain temperature which means that one needs hours to get some relief and get the room habitable enough to stay in. The HVAC broke a few days later and the only option they offered was to leave the doors of the room open to recirculate air! Really? At a motor lodge? Bed sheets had stains and the beds were only approximately done. They showed us an alternative room that smelled of smoke and had the toilet flush not working. Front desk personnel was kind but totally oblivious regarding preparedness and care of each room. A missed opportunity for a place that otherwise has no competitors in the Castro. It would take such a little effort to make of this place a jewel, and instead it is ran as a hostel.

Great hidden gem. Loved the history and the retro style as well as the parking. Super convenient and well maintained. Only recommendation would be to upgrade the windows for a little more sound dampening but on the good side, they do provide earplugs. Would recommend and will stay again

We loved the location of this property. Close to everything we wanted to do. Our only complaint is the room was very warm and took a long time to cool off. The AC was not very strong, could not lower temp (locked out), and windows are secured to only open a few inches. Would consider staying here in the cooler months.

Stayed here a few weeks ago and the room was small but clean and well appointed. The elevators weren’t working but I didn’t mind the stairs to the third floor. I was going to stay there again this week but cancelled due to their A/C and heating systems being out in a lot of rooms. But I loved the nearby restaurants and the area felt very walkable, though we mostly used Waymo. I would stay again when they get their issues resolved. Very clean and I love that parking is included.

I checked out of this motel 8 days ago and they still have not released the hold on my credit card funds. I paid at checkout. I paid the credit card bank charge the next day. But a week later the funds hold authorization that freezes your card funds during your stay until the final charges are billed and paid remains. This bill was settled a week ago. And I might add that it was substantially higher than advertised thru Expedia.

The hotel it self is a solid place to stay. It’s in the Castro district along market street about 2 blocks to Castro street night life. My only suggestion is avoiding the confusion with the website and the property. My reservation said paid in my hotels.com account but the hotel had me pay there because my card had not been charged.

It's located in a great, little neighborhood. The rooms are basic, but cute and clean. There is a nice deck with comfortable seating. Helpful and friendly staff.

This is a fun entry point to the neighborhood around it, including the Castro. The check-in was easy and the owners who we met on checkout were friendly and helpful.

The room was much nicer than i expected. The guy at check in was very helpful in getting me in the room a little earlier than official check in time so I could set up for my video conference call. Great location.

I really liked the location to UCSF, Parnasus because I had to go the next day for all day treatment. The of room we reserved was not available when we checked in and they upgraded us for free to another room. Everything was great until it got dark. Our room overlooked Market street and there was a lot of noise from bars etc. Then at about 2 in the morning the garbage pick up started and kept going until about 3:30. Consequently, I did not get much sleep before a long trmt day. Otherwise, they were great.

We were also not very impressed with the room during our second stay. Our double queen room had a musty odor. The comfortable beds and the large bathroom and shower were the only highlights. That said, Becks is in a great location near the Castro amd Duboce Triangle. Many restaurants and shopping are within a short walk and having free on-site parking is great. The Wooden Spoon a few blocks east of the motel in Market St. is awesime for breakfast. Great food, coffee, and friendly staff. We would stay here again only if we could secure a room on the 15th St side of the property.

This motel is super cute. The outdoor deck with chairs to sit in overlooking the street was an added bonus. The bathroom is very nicely remodeled. The free parking lot was great! Theres a lot of restaurants and shops close by. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, free parking. I was able to extend my check out as I had 8:30 pm flight. Little issue with the hot water in the shower. Gallons of water were wasted getting it to warm/hot.

Beck’s is a very well-run, old school motel and I mean that as a compliment. Yes, your view will likely be of the parking lot and the walls are a little thin, but it is beautifully maintained, the rooms are configured for maximum functionality, the staff are welcoming and helpful, and the shower is spectacular. The location is central and very convenient to so much of what San Francisco has to offer, and the rates are reasonable. Plus, the recently opened Epicurean Trader right next store is a great source for espresso drinks, pastries, drinks and snacks. I will definitely be staying ant Beck’s again.

Renovated older motel, yes doors do open to the outside, but it is gated with secure room card only. Very nicely decorated, clean as a whistle, and comfortable beds. Everything was immaculate. Only issue of course is parking. It is free, but first come first served. I left in the evening to go pick up people and when I came back, there was no parking available. There is street parking, but it is unclear (and desk clerk was not helpful) about if street parking was okay overnight. I would definitely recommend this little gem. Our go-to place in the future.

Excellent stay at this property, very conveniently located near LGBT centre, Castro. Served by multiple bus, streetcar and train lines within walking distance. Air conditioning was welcome though perhaps not working the best. Area felt safer than other parts of SF. You will have to dodge the homeless but this is symptomatic of all of SF unfortunately. Room 332 was great for its accessibility features such as handrails, large shower, in shower disability seat, large bathroom area (ideal for wheelchairs).

Very cute, very convenient, and wonderfully situated in terms of restaurants, shopping and general local character. Prices are fair, rooms are tidy and comfortable if basic. We would absolutely return here.

Room was clean and location is good.

Only complaint is outside of the control of the hotel. You hear the trolley go by as if you were sleeping right next to it. Otherwise, highly recommend.

We liked our overall experienced. However, we were not super happy to have gotten the first floor just next to the road/sidewalk. It felt like an overflow room to us and yet, It was labelled as superior queen room. Staff can be a bit more friendly for sure. To top it off, we got denied a late check out on a Monday. On the good side, hotel is super well located.

This is our favorite place to stay in SF. It is a secure, clean place in the perfect location. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Good location for the Castro district. Although there were a lot of night clubs nearby, the street noise couldnt be heard from the room. Room was clean and beds were comfy.

What a charming hotel in the heart of Castro. I really enjoyed the location and the hotel itself had everything I needed. Many great restaurants and sights within walking distance or a short transit ride. I will recommend this gem to my friends and family.

I like how easy it was to check in-. Room a little smaller than expected from the photos. But overall was a good spot despite the noise from other guests .

We loved the updated and modern rooms! We were located right next to the elevator, vending machine, and the ice maker so everything was super convenient for us! Also the neighborhood around it is so cute. We will probably stay here again

The rooms were very clean. There are a lot of places to eat around the area that you can walk too. Parking is included so that was a plus. I would definitely stay here again.

Loved staying at Beck’s! A retro motel feel with modern finishes. Free parking is first come first serve but I was able to get it with my stay and never had issues. Will definitely stay here again!

We were here for surgery at UCSF hospital. It was only a mile away. Staff found a room on the first floor so patient wouldn’t have to climb stairs or ride elevator. They were very accommodating and friendly and full of information regarding where we could eat or shop for snacks. Room was big enough for 3 people and clean. Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay

Very clean, sterile.There was no shower cap or lotion. The King size bed was very comfortable-we have stayed here many times before and will keep coming back!

This place is a gem and I cannot wait to come back! We had a lovely king room that was nestled in the back, so very private and quiet. Walkable to the best of the Castro dining and nightlife. I had so much fun that I lost my phone in an Uber and the front desk employee was SO helpful when I called the desk and explained my situation. He actually got me in touch with Uber customer service as well as Samsung to help me locate my device. I was blown away by that! Thank you for the excellent hospitality!

I really enjoyed my stay at Beck’s. Yes, it is a motel, so the walls are thin and your view is probably going to be of the parking lot. But - the rooms have been nicely updated and are in very good condition. Decor is minimal, but room contained everything I needed, and I have to say the shower was spectacular. The location of the property is perfect, with a zillion restaurants, cafes and shops within the surrounding two blocks, plus virtuo all MUNI metro lines. The property is well-maintained, rooms are reasonably priced, and the staff were welcoming and helpful. I will definitely be staying here again.
