The location was amazing. If you are looking for something close to fisherman's wharf, this is great. There is a bus stop right outside, and the bus takes you to the wharf (and back) quickly. The neighborhood seemed safe. Parking was limited, but I did get a spot, and there were cameras and lights on the cars. The room itself was very large - we had 2 beds a couch, desk / chair and tv, and there was a lot of floor space.

When I was here (prior to 2019) our room had a small fridge. This time, not only no fridge, but no ice machine on the property. Even the worst Motel 6 has ice machines on property and there was no indication of that on your motel information page.

great location, parking included no elevator, shades were missing a bit so I didnt have 100% privacy, bathroom was in bad condition, bed was very old, sheets and cover were very old, they should change them, carpet didn't seem very clean.

Convenient location, free parking, a gentleman at the front desk was kind and helpful. Very old motel, overall the room was clean, but I found a strand of long black hair wrapped in the blankets (I’m blonde), which was very unpleasant discovery when you’re trying to get comfy and see this. The bathroom is basically falling apart, with dirty walls and ceiling, and weird stains and leaks everywhere on the walls. I don’t know why in the room description it says “soundproof walls”, it’s very misleading. I had a room on the ground floor, and a person in the room above me was so extremely loud, I could hear every single step, and it was to the point it woke me up multiple times at night and early in the morning, because it was so loud and the ceiling was trembling - it felt like the ceiling is going to fall down on me. It felt like there was an elephant above me. I wish I could upload the video, of how extremely loud that was. Also the noises from the street are very loud too, you can hear everything, cars honking, revving their engines, etc, even with my room being tucked away in the corner and not facing the street. It’s definitely NOT a room with “soundproof walls”. So if you value your sleep - this is not the right place, as it gets really loud. Luckily I only had to stay for one night, I cannot imagine staying here longer, or I would be very sleep deprived.

The room was spacious and the maid service good. I didn't like that there were no curtains and the sunlight came in through the blinds very early waking me up when I would have like to have slept longer. I couldn't get the shower to work and the water was barely tepid so even if I had it would have been an unpleasant experience. I wouldn't write it off my list of a place to stay in SF, but I would look for another hotel first before deciding to stay there.

Parking was limited and if you get back late, you have to park on the street. The bedding is ugly as hell however, the bedsheets were clean and comfortable. The current bedspreads gave that 70s vibe. When you first walk into the room, there’s this musty smell and the ceiling above the shower needs to be looked at this is room 218.

It was close by to everything. The location made it really easy to explore San Francisco and visit the Pier without long drives. The room was comfortable and perfect for resting after being out all day. Overall, it was a convenient and pleasant stay.

Seeing a cherry blossom tree from my window was nice. There is no welcome. I didn't see friendly, helpful approach. Very poor communication skills. No problem solving skills at all. When I really need help, I saw angry face and very rude behavior. So many things need to get fixed in the hotel but apparently they don't care. If you have the business, you need to take care of basic things such as room key! I was sliding door key like 5 times to get into my room and also into hotel! I was like really?! I needed to get a fresh air and tried to opened the window. It didn't work properly and easily.

Ummm, probably the location? Funny I asked if they had a microwave that I could use and they said no, but they have a room inside reception fully equipped.

Room was clean and updated. Furniture is sparse. No hangers for the clothes hanging rack (no closet). Outside condition of the motel / inn is OK at best. Lombard street is loud most of the evening. AC/Heat worked well, but was very loud.

To say the staff were very accommodating is an understatement, everyone I interacted with was genuinely a very nice person and went above and beyond! Also, most of SF is very oldish, this place was much more modernized, lovely decor, very clean! Honestly, I can't think of one thing. Only I will defnitely be staying with them again next time in the city!!

I got a very spacious corner room on the 3rd floor with 2 walls full of windows, king bed, sofa, excellent work desk with chair, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, closet, and all the other typical amenities. Add to this an amazing location in the heart of downtown SF and a very reasonable price for SUCH location, and you'll understand why I was pleasantly surprised. The place even has a small swimming pool at THAT LOCATION! The manager was kind enough to let me keep my car parked at the hotel until 4pm the next day (i.e. 5 hours past the check-out!) while I was exploring SF waterfront attractions by foot. I was lucky getting a nice covered parking spot under the building for free - and this is in the heart of SF downtown! But in general, keep in mind that parking is scarce there, so your mileage may vary and you may not be as lucky during your stay. I also realize that not all rooms in this hotel may be as nice and spacious as the one I had, but my experience was pretty great.

Nothing. There was no elevator and it wasn’t clear on the website so had to carry luggage up several flights of stairs. Also, the bed linens were old and worn. There were holes in the bed frame, the couch. The blinds didn’t close all the way. The water was cold for the shower. The water coming out of the sink faucet was brown. No deadbolt on the door so felt unsafe. There was exposure electrical in the hallways and could be unsafe for children. Weird smell in the room.

Not too far of a drive to sights. The hotel itself didn't feel safe. The cleanliness and upkeep were not as expected and didn’t feel good. The door bolt did not work for the room we stayed in. It was a non-smoking room, but smelled like smoke.

Thankfully, I was switched to another room, but it did not have a microwave or mini fridge. Room was large and clean, 2 big comfortable beds with clean fresh bedding, tv, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, air con, bathroom with shower and bath, hairdryer, clean fresh towels. Pleasant, helpful staff. We loved our stay - thank you Alpha Inn! :-)

Stains on the floor, we got 1 dirty stinky towel at check in, to use the wifi we needed to switch settings on the phone , one phone couldn't connect at all and the staff didn't know how to treat the problem.

Had a great stay here at this place for 4 nights, was most affordable for me, walkable, close to beautiful parks, the area felt totally safe to me walking around at night. Bathroom was nice and roomy. I would definitely stay here again for a budget option!

This hotel was close to restaurants, the hotel itself was Falling apart, any time we left the room we needed a new key, even the gate to enter the building, no elevators, no fridge or microwave in my room( which was advertised). Or perhaps I should talk about the giant "party" that was in the room above which I had to listen to all night and sick to my stomach unable to sleep even a wink both nights. So between being 59° or colder in the room and being freezing cold from a luke warm shower, we were miserable! Also, expect to not get any peaceful sleep! This motel is located directly on a very busy street with cars zipping by within 18 feet from your bed. Never again.

I almost didn't want to book here becuase of the reviews. We had a one Queen bed on the 4th floor. The room was small ans cozy and looked really cleaned. I almost didn't want to book here becuase of the reviews. We had a one Queen bed on the 4th floor. The room was small ans cozy and looked really cleaned. The room was beyond my expectations. It was very roomy, had a lot more space than I thought it was going to be. 24hr Walgreens across the street was very convenient. Staff was very friendly. The only downside is that there wasn’t an elevator so walking up and down the stairs with luggage wasn’t easy but other than that this place was fantastic!

They treated me like human garbage when I showed up to check in at the wrong time. I made a mistake, but it was 6am and I was standing inte pouring rain with my luggage. They did not need to talk to me like that. Also, they did not accept my citibank master card? So it was a complete waist of time and humiliating.

Loved the room we stayed in only problem it didn’t have a mini fridge which would have been ideal. We did have some difficulty with the cable for the tv but was taken care of immediately which was great. Great little getaway place.

Its a great location with lots of good restaurants and bar all in walkable distance

The hotel check in was strange. You are barely able to the person who checks you in. Bathroom was new and clean. Close to everywhere. Location is really good.

Parking fills up quick. Close to everything. Can be noisy at night. For the price and location I will go back.

the property was ok for the price , severed our purpose - however the staff lied to me about parking , i was told i could park in front of there hotel office on the the street , that they owned those spaces . i got a 90 dollar ticket and the hotels answer was oh well ...the pool was also closed and appeared to have been closed and will remain close for some time . the area isn't the best , but not the worst -over all if it wasn't for them lying about the parking & costing me extra money and there complete unwillingness to make the mater right , i would of gave them a better review.

The front desk was very friendly and helpful. I chose this motel due to location and the complimentary parking. Had read the reviews and went in with an open mind to find myself very pleasantly surprised. Was very comfortable and felt safe. I would definitely stay here again.

The young girl in the front is very rude. The rest of the staff is nice and willing to accommodate. However the Inn is not the best. You get what you paid for.

In need of a little TLC, but acceptable and functional

Had an 8 hour drive going to the hotel and they let us check in 2 hours earlier than normal time. Bedding was clean and room wasn’t dirty. Although the walls are pretty thin and could hear the upstairs tenets walking around. Overall not bad for the pricing and the location is near a lot of places to eat and food marts.

Room was upgraded and looks nice but shower only delivered scorching hot water and some ants crawling on the fixtures in bathroom.couldn’t get heater to turn off(that part is probably my fault).shower doors wouldn’t stay shut because not level,but definitely a work in progress.just needs to be fine tuned a little.Staff was nice as always though and I do appreciate the roof over my head.
