    Stunning hotel with friendly and helpful staff. I love how they knew my name and made me feel so welcome. Room size was generous and has all your amenities. The gym was great and has plenty of equipment (although could use a pad for the bar!). I had a massage too and that was incredibly relaxing.

    It was light, great lobby area, beautiful views over the bay, plants everywhere. Hospitality service later in the day and for dinner was excellent with Veronica as hostess. The only significant drawback was breakfast service— on the 3 mornings the queue was 20mins plus— even to just order coffee. We had the offer of a$50 voucher for breakfast but the queue, and wait, was soo painful we went elsewhere on the second and third mornings. So it was not just a one-off. So disappointing for such a great hotel.

    This hotel was the perfect choice for our anniversary celebration. It is absolutely stunning — beautiful in a way that is hard to describe. The location is also very central and convenient, with easy access to attractions such as Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Everything was simply perfect: the room, the hotel’s public spaces, the restaurant, and especially the wonderful staff, who were kind, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The hotel surprised us with a cake and champagne in honor of our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. We honestly wished we could stay there longer — or even live there!     The locations was great. The environmental ethos of 1 hotels is great, and we appreciated that at the one in San Francisco. The reception staff were incredibly unfriendly, as if we were bothering them to check-in and out. They shared no information about the hotel at check-in, and we only discovered there was a rooftop terrace at the end of our stay when we were walking around ourselves. When I kindly requested if my car could be ready at a specific time for departure, the lady told me to go outside and tell the valet guys. We had a double room, and it was tiny. I was traveling with my three kids, and we travel the world, so they are definitely experienced travelers. Without prompting them, they said ,”I thought this was supposed to be a nice hotel!” We also agreed that it was the worst food (breakfast) we ate in all of San Francisco. We ordered large matches and chais and they brought them to the table in paper cups because they said they don’t have large mugs. This is not the type of service you would expect from a nicer hotel. The location is great, but the service was bad and hotel is overpriced and has no amenities to justify staying there.

    We booked a two queen water front room for watching new year’s fireworks. We specifically requested a room with views of the bay bridge (and paid accordingly). However, when we checked in, our room was facing the ferry terminal. The view of the bay bridge was totally blocked. When we asked the front desk, the gentleman told us that the fireworks will be at the ferry terminal, not the bay bridge, which is totally untrue. We ordered in-room dining in order to watch the fireworks from our window. Only find out it’s totally blocked! The hotel has certain European charm and is very clean. The room is quiet. The bed and bedding are comfortable. There are enough charging ports which is quite convenient. The staff at lobby are courteous and helpful. Room amenities were old and need maintenance. The towels were stacked on the under-the-sink shelf. There aren’t towel bars to hang our towels after use. The coffee maker is not working. Maybe that’s why coffee and tea bags in the cabinet were old and rumpled. The basin drains super slow. We checked in as three guests and were provided two sets of towels and robes.

    I booked an alcove king room for my husband and I. We checked in early, and our room was not ready yet so we checked our bags and went to our concert. When we returned our room was ready, however when we got to our room it was not a king bed and was two queens. When I called to the front desk, they told us no other rooms would be available and all they offered was an $80 breakfast credit for the following day, even after explaining to them that I am 32 weeks pregnant with a pregnancy pillow and wanted to be in the room my husband and I booked. We were so excited to stay here and were really disappointed, especially for the service at what was a luxury hotel. The next morning when I called to order breakfast and explained that there was a credit given to us I was also given pushback. Just overall really disappointed in the service here.

    I really enjoyed my stay at 1 Hotel San Francisco. The property is chic, stylish, and perfectly located close to the water with STK conveniently right across the street. The hotel feels thoughtfully designed, ergonomically friendly, and incredibly comfortable. One of the best parts for me was how pet-friendly it is—without any extra charges or hidden fees. They even provided my puppy with a cozy bed and dishes, which was such a thoughtful touch. While it is definitely on the pricier side, the experience is absolutely worth it—I would definitely stay here again with no hesitation.

    I reserved a room w/ a king bed and city view. The “city view” was slightly disappointing as it was more of the rooftop A/C area with a small square liking out onto Embarcadero. But it was fine, we weren’t there for city views so I didn’t let that bother me. Within being in our room for a couple hours, the sliding barn-door to our bathroom malfunctioned and when I informed the front desk, they said it would be a couple hours to fix but they would move us to another room in the meantime. I accepted because I didn’t want our family of 3 to have to deal with using the bathroom with no privacy!! However, upon seeing the room we were moved to, it really felt like a downgrade to me IMO. While the layout of the room was more or less identical, the room was definitely smaller and the view was even worse. I requested that we be moved back to our original room once the door was fixed and they said they would honor that. Anyway, the reason I am bringing all of that up is because under any other circumstances, something like that would've likely spoiled the entire stay and left a bad taste in our mouths about the experience. The staff here go above and beyond and went above and beyond to ensure that we really couldn’t complain about anything. The service was always top tier from every single employee. They went above and beyond every time.

    Everything was spectacular. This is the kindest staff I have ever encountered at a 1 Hotel with the best service (and I’ve stayed at every U.S. property.     This property charged me two additional fees for amenities which I did NOT use. The property states that this is a surcharge to EVERY guest, regardless of use. They state that this is in the Expedia description, which it is NOT. Pernicious charge and totally unacceptable. I will never return despite the high quality of the hotel and the awesome location.

    Great location, amazing view suite, very friendly service. The room lacked simple amenities like a magnified make up mirror, convenient hooks in bathroom, a place to set your towel near the shower, long hanging space in the closet area, etc. The layout was awkward. For $2500/night we likely wouldn’t stay there again for those reasons.

    I was pan-handled in the lobby lounge by a young guy asking me to buy him a coffee & a croissant. He was sleeping on a sofa prior to asking me to buy him breakfast. There is NO visible security anywhere in the hotel. The hotel said their policy was to keep security on the “down low” as to make clients feel more comfortable. I would feel more commutable SEEING security.

    Beautiful, sustainable property with excellent views of the bay and well located across the street from the ferry build. The rooms are clean and have natural healthy materials, filtered water if available. Since the weather is mild in SF I found the down comforter to be too warm and wished that they had lighter bedding. Service and staff is very good and the restaurant has delicious, healthy organic food. The line to order breakfast, however, was confusing and inefficient. They need more people taking orders or should provide table service.

    The room was not super upscale - did not feel worth the money. It didn't feel like a super luxurious hotel that I would expect from 1 Hotel. Everything is ridiculously overpriced from the room itself to the spa services and the mediocre food.

    Staff at check out was not attentive, not friendly. Also the charges on the check out in the room was different than the emailed check out amount. Charged an additional $50 with tax and a service charge for mini bar use that we did not consume. Still waiting for the refund!

    This hotel is very conveniently located in FiDi. However, I was very disappointed with the service and lack of transparency regarding the parking fee (this should have been disclosed at at the front desk during check-in). In terms of service, in-room dining was mixed up, text requests were not always answered promptly (or at all), and I found the food overall quite mediocre. Additionally, I had a rather unpleasant time when I drove up to get checked in. The valet driver assumed I was there to pick someone up and was visibly surprised when I said I was there to check in. Not sure whether it was my casual outfit (just in sweats for comfort of travel) or what the reason was... but quite disappointing, especially as a woman of color.

    Having stayed in every 4 and 5 star hotel in San Francisco, it was hard to see how this hotel rates as is does (i.e. Michelin, etc). The rooms are fine - cozy-ish, clean. Nothing special. The hand held shower head was made of cheap plastic, and the holder was broken, making it impossible to set a comfortable position while showering. Experienced an incredibly frustrating interaction with staff on check in, being made to place an auth hold on a credit card for room and tax despite these charges having been pre-paid (with the receipt from Expedia to validate this). Just not the service I’d expect at a high end hotel. Everything else about this property seemed fine - certainly nothing particularly special. Except the location, which providers fantastic views of the SF Bay Bridge and the Bay.

    The location of the hotel was perfect. It was nice a clean. I had the waterfront view and was able to have a great view of the bay bridge. I was also able to watch the 4th of July fireworks from the terrace. Everything was in walking distance. The hotel also offers free car service that will take you within a 2 mile radius.

    The aesthetic is amazing, the decor and the service is impeccable. The staff varied in certain interactions I had. As someone who doesn't like to bother people, I found some staff to be extremely helpful whereas 2 seemed to be extremely snarky and rude. It was a wonderful stay in the areas of cleanliness, ambiance, and overall service. I found the stay to be very enjoyable and would highly recommend 1 Hotel's service to anyone that is interested in staying. The spa however was beyond expensive for the window of time allowed for services. There are 5 star spas that charge less than this one, the view is nice from the rooftop, however you will be spending up to 300 dollars for a 50 minute massage which isn't all that common at most places. Overall, 8.5/10 stay.
