Property was kid friendly but rooms and amenities were dated. No privacy in our private fire pit room other people were using it as a walk way and were very loud. Also pool was over loaded with guests that did not stay in that area of the hotel. Need more grounds over site and technical support to combat these issues. Fun resort style hotel with music playing at pool. Nic bar at lobby with indoor/outdoor seating. Pool is nice but it is way too small for such a large hotel. The pool was definitely past any legal capacity, no chairs inside so we were not able to use it. Rooms are ok, but there were lots of spider webs in corners - needed some cleaning. there was clothes hanging all over the rails outside. Walls in rooms are so thin, people walking outside sounded like they were in your room, you could hear every word. There is also an additional resort fee we had to pay even though we were not able to use the pool due to overcrowding. We only stayed one night.

I absolutely loved the staff, the check-in process and the many restaurants/bars they had. Our room was great too except low water pressure. But still great. It was a little “busy” for me with all the little kids running around and a bit noisy though. They weren’t kidding when it said family friendly. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

The atmosphere is lively and Inviting, great for families We had multiple issues with check in, wrong room number given by front desk, confusing room numbering between first floor and 10th floor, lots of waiting will all of luggage in tow, which I can understand because they're a busy hotel, all in all they did the best they could, but nothing was offered as an apology for such a big mistake.

For the price and location and pool area and restaurants this place was perfect…there was just two things that really upset me. The first being that there was major construction going on right next to our room. If we had been warned about that I would have just chosen a different room in one of the other towers. The next thing is, I’m a solo mom traveler and I didn’t see a single luggage cart and the parking lot is far from the rooms so I had to make several trips.

Rooms are clean and well maintained. I would never want a room next to the pool again. When we went to breakfast at 10 am we were asked if we had a reservation, and were the ONLY customers in the place. We didn't want another $45 breakfast at 10 and wanted to buy a quick breakfast Monday and went to your market where bananas are $3.50 each.. CRAZY

When I checked in, the lady at the front desk was very kind. I told her it was our anniversary and she gave us a $50 food credit. We checked in a little early, and I explained that the main reason I came back was for the view. She told me the rooms I wanted were not clean yet, but she offered another room in a different tower with a pool view. It was not what I expected. After getting to the room, the view was not what I expected, so I called the front desk and spoke with a man named Jason. Unfortunately, the entire interaction went downhill from there. Jason was rude, condescending, and argumentative from the moment he got on the phone. He repeatedly told me that because I booked through a third party, I “got exactly what I booked” and basically implied it was my fault for “trying to save money” instead of booking directly through the hotel. Instead of trying to help, he argued with me the entire conversation. I explained that I drove 12 hours specifically for the view and simply asked if we could be transferred to the room type I originally wanted. He told me it would cost an additional $60. I explained that the front desk agent had already mentioned moving us at no charge.

We stayed Memorial Day weekend, was “controlled” until it was nighttime and apparently many adults just didn’t want to parent anymore? Idk but there were many fights, throwing glass off the balconies (ALOT), and police called. Idk how “family friendly” that is but I definitely won’t be coming back due to that fact. We don’t do that in my family. I saw kids just tearing apart signs. Anyways, the pool opens at 7AM, there was not ONE single worker in there Monday morning (Memorial Day) to clean the pool until 7:20 and even that he was only picking up towels. It wasn’t til 10:20am that all the old food(that the birds didn’t get to), to go boxes, towels, and just literal trash was all picked up. INSANE I have never stayed at a hotel that didn’t start cleaning at 7am. Do better, control better, clean better.

The only down side was the condition of the pool area. There was food/drink/trash left lying everywhere in the pool and hot tub area. Some that even fell into the hot tub. Lots of unsupervised kids in the hot tub. It was Memorial Day, however I did not see staff picking up any of the trash. Seagulls got into the left out food as well, causing them to swarm the pool. Overall I really liked our stay here, but the pool/hot tub situation took away a star for me.

Thousands of 6 to 15 year-old girls and their moms and costume suitcase pushing dads descended on the property for a dance convention. Apparently the fifth one in 2026. Girls turning cartwheels on the lawn, 25 10 -year-olds in the hot tub and the wait for the elevator to the rooms was awful. We ended up walking multiple times up and down for the fifth floor room. Certainly not what I had planned on spending $450 a night for. Before booking, call the hotel and see if there’s another on-site convention because you’ll want to book a different hotel if there is……. The amenities are nice, but can’t withstand all of those people all on the same schedule. The DJ is way too loud and way too close to the monkey bar that you can’t even have a conversation. The staff at the monkey bar are slow. Had to return to the front desk multiple times because they didn’t activate all of the room keys they gave us and they didn’t give us parking access on the keys. The rooms are a standard hotel room. Small and old if you are in the towers. Ours did not have a balcony and was the furthest walk from the main pool. There are dozens of service charges and taxes added to the bill for San Diego County and the hotel. I just cannot recommend this place for adults looking for a nice getaway.

Weve been to this resort twice now, we do enjoy it. The restaurants are a little pricey but thats to be expected at a resort, there is a mall behind the resort in walking distance with some good options for food to!. My kids love the pool area & with the waterslide it is a fun extra & the lawn games/activities they do is great! The rooms feel a little small but decently clean , the beds/pillows are comfy, my only real absolute worst thing I hate about the rooms is their shower set up in the bathroom it does not have a closing door or curtain its only half covered by glass & then open so especially with kids the entire bathroom floor just gets absolutely soaked & it is just so gross to have a soaking wet bathroom floor, I kept requesting extra towels to keep putting all over the floor/wiping up the floor. Its just an ick bad design in my opinion. The staff is very nice & helpful.

Overall a great experience. The staff was very friendly, and the overall cleanliness of the resort was great. Check-in was smooth as well as checkout. If I had to pick one negative thing about my experience, it was the fact that there was a cheer event that was hosted by the resort. This allowed the people who were attending this event to have access to the bars, the pool, the restaurants. It was overcrowded. I plan to stay here again in the future, but I will definitely be doing my research to see if they are hosting an event like this. Overall great experience, but I’m hoping my next stay here will not be as crowded.

Pool closes to early also they had an event today and it was really loud music really early in the morning. They have to be considerate that not everybody was attending that event and just wanted to sleep in for a few room service came knocking four hours or almost 3 hours and a half earlier than the checkout and their check-in is at 4 PM. Very inconvenient for people that are driving very far. I just wanna rest overall. The place is OK. I like that. It has a bunch of amenities like if you need a store they have a market in the resort. That’s about it and please ask before if you have to pay for parking because they do that in the last minute very unacceptable and also you have to pay extra for the cleaning crew. My room was completely clean. Overall, staff was wonderful check-in was easy and to check out was also easy. Can’t complain about that. There’s a lot of good stuff about it. There’s the mall and a bunch of shopping centers right across the street. If you would like to take a walk it’s a lovely walk.

Definitely a resort hotel but there tends to be a lot of people which causes overcrowding in the pool and hot tub. Not sure why there's only one hot tub for hotel as big as this hotel is. Nice but don't know if I'd stay again especially with the added resort fee and mandatory paid parking. Definitely could use an adult only area for pool and hot tub. Also their marketplace gets really backed up when it's busy.

That said, there were a few issues that made my stay less comfortable than I’d hoped. While the room was semi-clean, it could definitely use more attention to detail. The rooms don’t seem to be well insulated, and unfortunately, I was placed below the gym, which made it very difficult to sleep due to noise. Housekeeping was also quite loud in the hallways early in the morning. Additionally, the pool in the tower area appeared dirty and didn’t seem to be properly cleaned during my visit, which was disappointing. Overall, the staff and amenities were strong positives, but improvements in cleanliness, noise control, and pool maintenance would make a big difference in the guest experience.

When asking front desk staff politely if there was valet or luggage cart, front desk staff laughed and said “we’re not fancy like that.” Even cheap hotels usually have a luggage cart. 1/3 mile hike to the building with our room. They charged us extra even though it was noted we paid through hotels.com and did not use any amenities. No food after 10pm and no door dash permitted. Lobby, outdoor spaces including activities available were good. Plenty of fire places and seats to lounge in outside in the main courtyard. We were assigned a VIP room but the hotel placed us in the furthest, oldest building from the main lobby with a very small pool area. Also if you happen to go during an onsite convention, beware there may be groups of unattended teenagers/college students who like to yell throughout the night into the wee hours of the morning. I would like to start by saying this be careful what you sign and initial at check in when I got there the young lady at the front offered me free parking for our stay as it was our first time there I thought it was really nice I initialed and signed check in papers but at the time of check out they had added $70 parking fees when I asked they sent me a picture of what I had signed at check in and they just wrote down $30 each day on something I had initial that did not had that to begin with I was pretty upset I hate getting mislead, then one night we order food and my sons pbj sandwich had mold we noticed after he already ate half when I called I was promised a full refund for my order my son had an upset stomach the rest of the trip which was a bummer, I asked about the refund 3 times and they kept promising a manager would call me no one ever did and a refund was not issued that’s poor customer service they shouldn’t one promise something then turn around and charge you for it and two when something goes as bad as mold in your food a manager should immediately contact you not having you ask around for a refund or be looking for management those were my downs for this trip!!!

Check in took about 45 minutes therefore we missed the opportunity to ride the water slide which bummed my kid out. Main reason why we had booked. Our building is going through a lot of renovations therefore might be the reason for the roaches. Still gross.

This is what I sent the property and they didn’t answer: I called your front office because the fridge wasn't working. They said adjust the temperature. Did not work. I have a baby & need to keep milk cool. The milk was mid . Neither cold or hot . Just warm . I had someone come drop off towels and had him check the fridge .he said he would be back and never came back. I've stayed in many resorts and the first thing they do is replace the mini fridge. No sense in any of these workers to keep the customer experience positive. I had breakfast one day at ARLO. Host in the front said 10-15 min wait... no problem.. when we finally get seated waiter seemed like she didn't want to work... it's a resort people travel to this area . Be more happy being at work and don't look like you just come to work to get paid. It's about professionalism that's why you get hired /experience working in this industry. We just asked for water... and a cup with straw for the baby. She said I'll be back. Leaves doesn't come back . Passes by our table and says o I forgot the straw . Leaves for another 10-15 min comes back and says I forgot the straw . Our food had been ordered but no sense of urgency. Keep in mind they made it seem like it was so busy and there was empty dinning tables every where. Third attempt to bring a straw ... nothing ... I had to call another waiter over . She was rude too but came back positive with a straw and said " how do you have a toddler cup with no straw " //longer review:

This hotel really fools you by the looks and pictures on their website. It doesn't reflect on the employees attitude and the under staffing. I arrived one hour early prior to my reservation, I decided to wait in the lobby bar. Full bar and only 1 bartender available is it crazy, considering to have fully booked Hotel and a event on the convention. The bartender super rude and zero customer. The check-in times arrives No txt msg like they said, I have to wait in like again to check on my room, 4:20pm by the time. I got assisted by the manager I think her name is Ana, gave me my room key and show my thr map of where I am staying. They sent me to a building completely opposite of my reservation all the way in the back very outdated, smell horrible and the elevators super slow. I was not happy, I called the Hotel to make a change or a upgrade to be switch to a different building the gentlemen I spoke to told me he have a room available across from the pool just to come to the front desk to make the change. Ones on the front desk a Hispanic lady help told I just called in to maks a change hand no clue what I was saying and got rude with me that no room was available it was a misunderstanding that they couldn't help me. Anyways, they have lots to work on with their communication ,understaffed and customer service.

The wait to check in was 45 minutes. The staff that checked us in was annoyed and unapologetic. The pizza from the market was burnt and so hard that the crust came off when my son tried to pick it up. He wouldn't eat it - he's 10 and will eat almost anything. When we were leaving, the same staff member that checked us in was walking in while we were walking out laden with luggage pushed past us though the door and didn't wait for us to fully exit the building. The pool area is really cool though and it's very kid friendly. Not enough to get me to come back though.

I was really impressed with the service team. They are on point, they answered all my questions with a simple text. There’s so much to do on the property. From restaurants to lounging pool side, even a game of volleyball. The market was so convenient for a quick hot chocolate and a snack. My kids had a blast very family oriented we will definitely return

Our stay started out well with a very attentive, kind woman at the front desk. I reserved a room with a fire pit, but for some reason she did not have me in that room. Because there was one available, she made the room change (from the main tower to a ground floor room with a fire pit). She kept saying things like, "Are you sure you don't want to stay in the tower?" or, "If there is any problem let me know and a room change can be done." Just after entering our room, we noticed the joining room door was unlocked. It locks from the other side, so it required a key. Furthermore, it appeared that I could unlock the neighboring door. Security came with a key to lock the door and insisted all was well. By that time, we checked out the patio area. It was GREAT! But, the lock on the sliding door was broken. Literally, screws were coming out. So I called the kind woman at the front desk and she changed our room to the tower area. Our room was great...and quite a bit more updated than our ground floor room with the fire pit and faulty door locks. Our stay ended up being great.

Unsanitary and unsafe. This was a nightmare. Dogs were allowed to walk in the pool area. The owners did not pick up the waste and families stepped in it and tracked poop all over the pool area. Another guest pooped in the pool and yellow and black caution tape was placed around the pool. A little girl went missing and the police had to be called. No lifeguards or security on site. These are huge concerns. This hotel is unsafe and unsanitary. there were off course minor issues, as well. Check in had huge, long lines. There was no remote in my room. One functioning elevator. Stay away at all cost. Low grade resort.

They didn't honor the Expedia VIP upgrade. Also there was no day curtain that let light in but people couldn't see in, just a blackout curtain. I was on the 2nd floor and I could make eye contact with people outside. So I was in darkness all trip.

Overall very clean facility. But light in bathroom was broken, water in the tub didn’t drain, and toilet was also somewhat malfunctioning. Front desk was helpful upon check in. The bellhop in front of hotel was useless. We were loading luggage into a cab and he just stood there staring at us. Also know that if you get a second floor room in one of the shorter buildings, there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up stairs. It is not hard but it would have been nice to been given a heads up and our bags were heavy on this trip. The service at The Lapper restaurant and Market was great! Overall, an okay experience.

The Town and Country is a great stay in San Diego. It is centrally located to and close to beaches, Sea World, Petco Park and the San Diego Zoo. The waterslide is so fun for all ages and the huge pool is relaxing. We spent ao much time in the hot tub and had a cabana with amazing service. I highly suggest this hotel and is certainly our families favorite place to stay.

Property was amazing. Front desk was extremely busy and overwhelmed. Front desk staff had to continuously go to the back to speak to the manager, instead of the manager coming out front to assist his staff. Check in took 45 mins. Expect a lengthy check in process.

There’s was a DJ at night by the pool when we went, so if you have littles and a pool facing room, good luck getting them to sleep. They sell day passes to the pool, which is ridiculous- and also why everything was so chaotic. Hotel guests are mixed in with party-goers and there’s just no peace at that pool. We tried to eat at the advertised sports bar on site, and it was a solid 4/10. Cold food- literally. Oh and our room had no hot water for a while. That was fun. I have never written a review on here before but for young families who want a little getaway, STAY CLEAR of this place. We really wish we would have booked the Holiday Inn Mission Valley. That place is amazing, but they didn’t have any availability

Additionally, having an elderly family member on the 7th floor with no reliable elevator access was extremely difficult and could be dangerous. The hotel seemed unprepared for the large dance competition crowd, causing elevator backups and general chaos. The broken AC made the rooms uncomfortable in the San Diego heat, and the presence of spiders in the windows showed a lack of thorough cleaning. The parking situation was inconvenient, especially with luggage and small children, as no carts were available unless you pay extra. Overall, the experience felt neglected and unaccommodating for families or anyone needing extra care. I would not stay again or recommend this hotel.

Very disappointing I would not recommend this property and I would like to get a refund on my stay due to the fact that it was overbooked. The pool was extremely dirty was not able to use any of the amenities and also there was never any parking had to go around? For a long time the elevators were not working properly. Had to wait over 30 minutes just to go up the stairs. I have a handicap pass. I wasn’t able to use. It had to park far far away and be able to go upstairs and the elevators like I said were inconvenient not working. I do not like the service and or the amenities at this property What is indicated on this site isn’t what they offered was way too many people for the long weekend they booked over booked and it was very disappointing that I had to leave early from my trip overall I want a refund

Cons: Check in was 4 room wasn't ready until 4:40. Overall grounds have 2 restrooms, with a total of only 3 stalls. One in the lobby area and one in a restaurant on the other side of the location. For the size and the amount of people, it should more than 3 stalls for men. Has a seating area near the main bar area with a couple of servers walking around taking orders. We sat there for about 2 1/2 hours, servers continuously passed by us and never asked if we wanted to order food. which would be fine, since we can doordash some food, however you aren't allowed to bring in any outside food and eat it in that entire area. Remotes for the TV's didn't work in both rooms we paid for. You can turn the TV on but couldn't change the channels. Overall not worth the money and wouldn't return.
