Amazing stay, one of my favorite places to be in SD. The rooms are nice, beds and pillows are comfortable (probably best I've experienced), and the service from the staff is elite.

Great location and a beautiful hotel. Walls on the 4th floor are thin. Could hear people talking walking down the hallways. Can hear the toilet flush next door to the room. Was given a voucher for the bar or coffee counter to cover the resort fee. We don't drink so we chose to get a Frappuccino. They said they didn't have the ability to make them even tho they are on the menu. They also will only honor it for hot coffee. So we ended up giving the vouchers to the first person we saw. Also, leaving on a Sunday, it took us nearly 20 min to get our car from the valet.

We had an excellent stay here. Suzanne. The concierge helped us set up our entire stay, tickets to the zoo maps to all the places we needed to go and reservations for dinner on our anniversary. All the staff seem happy and they were very helpful and the Bronze Bird restaurant was great for dinner and breakfast.

The tub was not clean had white powder. Then the tub did not drain it was stopped up. Gunk came up from the pipes. We had to inconveniently change rooms.

Immaculate room and hotel and in such a great location. Valet is expensive at $60 a night but there is a parking lot on the same block which is very cheap. We would definitely recommend it and return.

This hotel was wonderful. I was here for business and stayed in a corner suite. Bed was comfy and the downtown city view was a great vibe. Note, the amenity / destination fee perks were hard to take advantage of due to being on a work trip, however, the use of the beverage tickets for coffee or tea in place of alcohol was MUCH appreciated!

Hotel, staff, restaurant and bar are great. My only complaint is the $60 parking. As a guest of the hotel it’s a bit much.

Room had smell of mold. Found some mold in the bathroom shower. Air Conditioning kept shutting off and room got hot and could not sleep well at night. Shower handle old and hard to find between hor and cold. After a shower, water leaked out of faulty glass gasket and there was a big puddle of water on the floor.

We booked a double queen junior suite with the patio and it was quite expensive. We did get a lot of use out of the patio, which was quite large and comfortable. The rooms themselves are a bit worn. The lobby was vibrant and clean and we enjoyed our daily drink tickets even though we paid for them. The location is excellent for access to downtown and easy uber pickups.

small pool. asked for a blanket and got a thin fabric that looked more like a curtain panel - denied access to another comforter. After walking around the area, definitely better hotels to stay at. Extra fees were ridiculous!

Staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly, and they always had great recommendations for dining or sights to see. Very welcoming. The location was perfect for walking just about everywhere.

We were in San Diego for a show at the Balboa Theatre and it was literally a 3 minute walk. Definitely the place to stay if going to the Balboa. The hotel itself is very nice and comfortable. This is our 2nd time staying here, and I recommend it highly.

Quite a good location. Cardboard coffee cups and powder creamer. When we asked for china cups and real milk it caused great confusion. At the price you would think china cups and real milk would be standard (or at least readily available).

We loved the roundabout so we didn’t have to wait for our rides on a busy street. Rooms were great and pool area was a nice place to relax before heading out to dinner. We loved the two free drink tickets for each day!

We had a really nice stay at the Westin! Overall things were great. Two notes: 1) our tv lost internet connection on our last night. This was a known issue we didn’t find out about until checkout. 2) the resort fee benefits weren’t super useful to us, I wish we could have opted out.

It was nice. The beds were so comfortable. Best sleep I’ve had for a good minute. The staff were all super nice and helpful. Right outside there is a Panera and at the corner there is a Chipotle which was super convenient.

Unfortunately, we did have some less pleasant experiences. On 9/27, while seeking assistance at the concierge desk, Suzanne looked directly at us but refused to acknowledge or assist. Only when I said “excuse me” did Julianna step in with warmth and professionalism, while Suzanne continued to ignore us. Later, when I tried to revisit the encounter with Suzanne, she admitted seeing us but remained dismissive and unaware of how her actions impacted our experience. We also experienced repeated TV issues (screen glitching/freezing). The first time, engineering resolved it quickly, but when it happened again that evening, the concierge seemed rude and inconvenienced. This time, no engineer showed up and there was no follow-up. Overall: We enjoyed our stay thanks to the excellent staff members who truly cared, but lapses in service particularly at concierge kept the experience from being flawless. Location is perfect.

I am pretty easy going, don’t really think I’m high maintenance when it comes to hotel rooms, but some non-negotiables are cleanliness, and I absolutely can’t stand standing water in the shower. After our first shower it was discovered, we informed the desk, while we were out someone came in to rectify it. When we got back, the bathtub was full of gross hair and sludge from whatever came up from the drain. You couldn’t clean that up? And the standing water situation didn’t get fixed. I was still standing in ankle deep dirty water while taking a shower. The rains shower head and handheld shower head would both be on at the same time, the handle was not working to turn one off, and lastly the toilet was so incredibly loud, it sounded like you were breaking the porcelain when you flushed. Also, we had an ant problem in our bathroom. We did not have any food in our room either. I would expect more from Marriott, it’s not like we’re staying at a motel 6. Other than the cleanliness issues, it’s a great walkable location.

Centralized location made it easy to get around. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The bar area had tables and couches available depending on what you wanted/needed. Pool was small and basic.

Staff were great, concierge/bellhop guy was great as we dropped our bags off early. The only knock is that there were a few police incidents in the area and it wasn’t as nice as I was expecting. Obviously that is out of the hands of the hotel and staff (who were great), we just don’t want to walk around at night. But, great pickup circle at the hotel for uber/lyft/taxi

Wow it’s a stone throw away from Balboa Theater. The check in host was friendly and accommodating the bartender at the bar was attentive. I felt safe considering the makeshift police station is next door. My room smelled and looked clean. I only stayed one night but was comfortable.

The hotel was nice. I just don’t care for dirty walls in the bathroom and burnt out lights. Both things are easily correctable by having a supervisor check each cleaned room before guests arrive.

Lack of service at the bar (understaffed) and the pool was smaller than expected, filled up quickly.

Love this hotel. It was our first time staying here and won't be our last! We got 2 free drinks and a free boat ride on the bay! But beside that the room was amazing and the bed was sooooo comfortable. It was the perfect little one night getaway.

Excellent acessibility to a lot of dining options in a walkable or short Uber ride sense.

Rooms and hotel were clean and staff were fine. A resort fee for a downtown hotel is a bad look, handing me a little card justifying it with an offer for free paddleboarding.

My stay was above and beyond amazing. I will definitely be returning. There was not one thing that went wrong.

The customer service we received at this hotel was impeccable. The hotel guest agent greeted us with a warm welcome with a smile. She offered us two bottles of wine to celebrate my husband's birthday and two wine glasses. On our second night, the engineer came up to fix our toilet. He returned with the part while we were out. When we returned, there was a hand written note saying he fixed toilet with a packaged chocolate wrench with a green ribbon tied on it, such a nice touch! The body wash gel is heavenly. The food in the lounge is a little expensive, and delicious. Our waiter was very nice. The hotel is very close to the center of the Gaslamp district and close to Seaport pier. There are taxis and uber drivers for those who don't want to walk. The hotel also offer electric bikes and other items for your entertainment. This was my 3rd stay at this hotel. I love, love this hotel.

Great hotel overall. Very clean, attentive and helpful staff, and in a great and central location. Would highly recommend.

What we did not like, pool was very dirty, was pretty cold and they did not offer room service.

The beds were uncomfortable and some of the staff members were rude.

Nice free drink option daily. Room just average. Air conditioner didn't work in either room. Had to open windows. Still hot in room. Carpet felt alittle dirty.

Very smooth check in process

The whole family stayed the weekend for my sons wedding in Balboa Park. Check in was super simple our rooms were spacious and clean and nicely decorated. A free glass of wine daily or beer is a nice treat. My only complaint is the really expensive internet. I had brought my i pad to watch but the 18$ charge was to much. I was able to login to Apps on their TV so it was ok

Our romantic stay here was amplified by the friendliness and personal attention of all the staff, I and my spouse want to thank everyone here for everything. The food, drinks, cleanliness, comfort, entertainment, amminities and quick response to our needs and concerns where above and beyond.

I love San Diego, and decided to stay with the Westin for the first time. Me and my partner were so enamored by the hotel, it was clean and classy and our room had a wonderful view of part of the cityscape surrounding us. Everything was of course, very clean, and the staff were great. The Westin played a huge part in our overall experience spending our weekend in San Diego, so much so that we wished we didn’t need to leave. I look forward to the opportunity to stay again, in the future.

Hotel is very good for price, centrally located, all hotel employees are nice and helpful. Only negatives are the price of parking and that the restaurant was always short of personnel with long waits for everything you order and the servers looked stressed.

This was a great hotel, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and amenities however good rested sleep wasn't possibly as the hotel lost power and around 2am, so the generators woke us up one night and the alarm from the room nxt to us woke us up at 4am the other.

Nice property

We were able to check in early, which was wonderful. Jason checked us in and was rude when we told him we didn't drink alcohol. The hotel was very nice. The bed was very comfortable,the hotel was quite and clean.

Overall, the day was nice. I was a little disappointed that there was no Jacuzzi on site. That would be my only complaint about our stay.

Its a beautiful property in the heart of San Diego downtown business district, a block from busteling social life and a shirt walk from the bay. Hotel property is immaculate and always buzzi g with life. Very friendly and helpful staff, well maintained property, clean and comfortable room with amenities for short stay, and the restaurant below with good breakfast options. All in all, a good option when visiting San Diego!!

Stayed for 2 nights with my son. The staff were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the boat tour that was included with the resort fee. It’s in downtown and about 10 minutes from Little Italy. I will definitely be staying again!

The only issue I had was that the toilet handle stuck and caused water to continue running until manually adjusted.
