Reviews
Guests generally enjoyed their stay at the Westin Hotel, praising the friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location. However, some guests had issues with the hotel's amenities, such as the Wi-Fi, breakfast, and parking prices. Additionally, a few guests had negative experiences with the hotel's maintenance and room cleanliness.
- Friendly staff
- Great location
- Issues with amenities (Wi-Fi, breakfast, parking prices)
- Maintenance and cleanliness issues in some rooms

Valet is $65, there is no self-parking, you have to find street parking or a nearby parking structure and the deposit was $200 for each room, the staff was sweet but the other room I booked took a long time before it was available and it was another $200 deposit.

We loved the location. We had a little trouble getting through to get information about the shuttle. Everything else was great.

Nice Parking 65$ and night when you can park across the street for 15$ a night

Stayed two nights of four night visit to area. Airport shuttle was excellent. Check in was fast. Room was high with bayview but next to staff room so heard music each morning by housekeeping staff who seemed surprised someone was in the room. Pool is much smaller than expected. Feels like an old Westin back home… same set up etc…. Public areas back memories of the 80s and 90s. Location is good for walking but my adult (college aged) daughter was startled by a man who came up quickly behind her and made comments about her appearance so she didn’t want to walk alone or after dark in the area. Not many people around after dark except homeless and occasional tourist. Did not take advantage of happy hour… second ticket was for evening after we were to depart. Front desk staff was great. TV screen read ‘welcome Barbara’ which is not my name. Was told they’d credit some Bonvoy points for some of the issues we had like gritty sheets but never got the points. Figured that was because I went through Expedia. Bathroom could be better … on par with a 2-star motel. Appreciated the in-room safe. Probably wouldn’t stay downtown again but hotel was okay especially location wise for walking during the day and the airport shuttle to/from hotel was helpful.

Clean, offered options when they overbooked our original selection.

Customer service when I asked if she still has my invoice up to confirm my number and email she said no. I’ve booked with Westin before and never received this type of service before

Duvet too heavy. Blankets too thin - ask for an extra blanket.

Park nearby- unless you NEED valet
- 5/5
The Westin Bayview is walkable, or a short ride, from great sites. In terms of walking: Balboa Park is a 30-minute walk, the Gaslamp District in 20-minute walk, and the Seaport Village is a 10-minute walk, from the Westin Bayview. Well done Westin Bayview. Cheers.
- 5/5
The best hotel I’ve been to in San Diego!
- 5/5
It was an amazing experience. I will return for certain.
- 4.5/5
The hotel itself, especially the lobby, is attractive and well laid out. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. They gym was great. The location is perfect if you want to avoid the Gaslamp area but is only a short walk away. The surrounding area seemed safe to me. The only thing negative I noted was that most of the staff on the desk(not all) were either a bit cold or very loud. I think the loudness thing is a bit cultural however, I value professionalism in the service industry.
- 4/5
The staff was helpful and friendly during our stay.
- 5/5
Front desk staff was great. Room view was great, can see the bay. Close walking proximity to many breweries, places to eat, and sites.
- 5/5
Had such a great experience at Westin! David, Ike, Carlos snd Monette from The Bar truly made our night. They were so friendly, welcoming, and attentive, and they made us feel safe and comfortable the entire time. Santa from housekeeping was attentive and helpful. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re in San Diego!

Hotel is centrally located to what we were looking to do. Quick walk to Little Italy and Gas Lamp. Parking is valet only at $65 a night, but you can self park directly across the street for less than half. Small pool area and jacuzzi. Hotel is clean and safe. Enjoyed our stay and would return.
- 5/5
Our room was excellent and very clean. All hotel amenities were clearly explained and easy to access. The rooftop pool and hot tub was lovely and had outdoor games for families. I regret that we did not leave enough free, unplanned time to check out the spa. The hotel shuttle was timely and very helpful, we also found it so nice to be able to have our bags held after checkout while we explored on our last day in San Diego. Staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. It’s centrally located, has a beautiful view of the bay, and is just a gorgeous property. Thanks for a wonderful stay, we will be back!
- 2/5
The hotel lobby appears run down. It had a strange smell which was unpleasant and overall cleanliness was lacking. Our room was nice and clean, only downside was that the shower door collected a lot of water which sometimes almost flooded the entrance of the shower area.
- 5/5
Social hour was fun
- 4/5
Was lovely soacious room
- 5/5
Stay was amazing in all aspects.
- 5/5
This was probably the best hotel I've stayed at in a very very long time. The Westin runs circles around the Hilton and the Sheraton. Absolutely circles at a high rate of speed. What a beautiful and very very comfortable establishment. A very heartful well done to the staff. Thank you for all you did for me and taking care of me.
- 3/5
Clean room. Very small low ceiling
- 5/5
The room was very clean and comfortable, and when I requested a microwave, it was delivered quickly with no issues. I also enjoyed the social hour — such a nice added touch to the stay. Overall, excellent customer service, great atmosphere, and an amazing experience. I would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
I almost had nothing to say but I had a great stay, one of my favorite stays. The only thing that did t make it a perfect stay was that our ice machine on the 11th floor was not working so I had to keep getting my ice when I was on my way up to my room fro the bar. It was inconvenient that the ice machine wasn’t working. Also the night shift staff could have been a little friendlier. Other than that I definitely would come back
- 5/5
Made for a last minute beach trip-super fun!
- 4/5
Room was very clean. Would absolutely stay here again. Elevators were pretty dirty (all of them). We parked across the street for half the price as valet. Breakfast was incredible - shoutout to the sweet lady who made our breakfast burritos each morning.
- 4/5
My stay was pretty good, with one main exception, I went to breakfast and who ever set up the labels for the buffet style breakfast mixed up the chicken sausage with the pork sausage labels. I didn't know they were switched until I went back two mornings later and the signs read differently. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING!!!
- 4/5
Overall nice hotel downtown. The rooms have been updated but are small. The hotel was clean and the front staff was GREAT!!! The afternoon reception was nice and the airport shuttle was very convenient. The pool is small and there is no services provided at the pool. Adjacent bathroom were need of cleaning and out of all paper products.
- 3/5
Hot tub emits some horrible sucking sound. All the guests in the tub commented on it and it drove us crazy. It was like having a dentists suction device next to your ear at full volume. Towels ran out at the pool and it took the property and extended amount of time and multiple guest complaints to refill. Finally, the staff were making a ruckus in the room next to mine (705) at 10:45pm Saturday night while we were trying to sleep. Talking at full volume right outside our door, letting the door slam, etc. I had to come out and ask them to keep it down. Would not return.

Staff very friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms very clean and fully equipped with necessities.

Friendly, clean, great location
- 5/5
Staff could be friendlier and more attentive and responsive. The room itself was amazing. Almost bought their hotel sheets, blankets etc. they sell online. Room was so comfy did not do work after trade show, just Golden Girls and chilled. Conveniently located near the convention center, and the valet while a bit pricey, was super easy to use (text or call the number they give you before you come down so you’re not waiting for your car to be brought)

An EXCELLENT and PEACEFUL stay!!!

Loved the outdoor pool with stunning view, well equipped gym & great location. Walking distance to Santa Fe depot for the tram, walk to Little Italy. Local self parking options were confusing. Best to research ahead. Beds v comfy. Bedroom itself was a very good size. Just the the double bed room. I was pleasantly surprised.

I suggest everyone to do in person check out , they charged me incorrectly for parking and it’s been 10 days they keep postponing the refund and sending the file to different departments.

The hotel is in a good location. It was very clean and the staff were all friendly and accommodating. The hotel was pretty expensive. You would think they would supply you with water but you have to pay an additional $5 for a bottle of water. Parking was very expensive at $65 a day.

It was okay it was clean and safe and predictable for the most part. The only two complaints are that somehow the day I was checking out they called me and said that I had done an early checkout at 7:00 a.m. which is impossible and they switched it back to 11:00 a.m. which was weird. The shower has the strangest set up where the shampoo conditioner and liquid soap are glued to blocks which are then caught against the wall of the shower. Of course in a steamy hot environment they fall off which is exactly which one of the one of them had done which was lying on the floor. Who would have guessed that a hot steamy environment would cause them to disconnect from the wall that they were glued to. I can't imagine who decided to glue these heavy containers to linoleum shower wall.
- 5/5
We would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Friendly staff and pleasant stay, but never got the free museum ticket promised, and the plumbing in the room needed attention (leaky faucet handles and shower handle seems off - hard to find hot water)

The staff was friendly and helpful, both at the reception desk and in the restaurant. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower worked well and was easy to use. We had breakfast twice— ordering from the menu and also having the buffet. The food was consistently delicious, with a good variety of offerings. We also liked the hotel’s location. It was perfect for our stay.

I enjoyed the complementary shuttle service to the airport, the social hour, and the ticket to USS Midway! The staff were also very nice and helpful. It would've been nice to know beforehand (before booking) that the hotel charged a destination fee ($29 per day, including taxes and fees) when arriving, to account for budgeting hotel accommodations. The room was very clean and the location was close to the San Diego Conference Center/Gaslamp quarter/downtown/Petco stadium/museums along the bay/Balboa Park, which made it easy to explore San Diego for a few days just on foot. I didn't take advantage of the city bikes (comp'ed by the hotel up to 2 hrs), but that would've been nice to ride around too. My room's showerhead could not close properly so was dripping almost the entire time... at one point the drain was also clogged, but then the cleaning staff fixed it two days later so it was good again. :)

The room was average, housekeeping did an OK job of cleaning, and the downtown neighborhood got very sketchy within blocks. It was near the harbor, which was good, and I did get a voucher to tour the USS Midway WWII aircraft carrier. Overall, fair to average. My experience with Marriott this year has been poor; this is the third time I've had problems with a Marriott-owned hotel: (1) on Orange Beach on the Alabama gulf coast where I was in a wedding; an on-line reservation to stay in a Panama City, Panama hotel only to have it not go through on-line; and now this mediocre experience. Hyatt and Hilton, here I come!

This property was beautiful. It was well maintained had spacious, clean, comforting room. It was centrally located to food a quick walk to the port. The only thing that bothered me about the property was when I checked out, I was charged an extra convenience fee that covered the use of bike rentals, etc., of about $40 that I didn’t know anything about prior to booking at booking but otherwise it was a really nice property.
- 5/5
Delicious pool. Very friendly staff. I didn’t feel like room service did enough of a thorough job cleaning up. My sneakers were left in middle of the room and they left garbage there.

We arrived a bit late due to our flight being cancelled. Once checked in, which went fine, we arrived in our room to find that we were in an accessible room. We went to the front desk to inquire as to why we were in an accessible room and were told that is what we booked and that they were unable to move us because the hotel was “fully committed”. We spent the next three nights using a bathroom that was not conducive to our needs. Taking showers was a horrible experience. Moreover, the room was not up to Westin standards and we paid a lot of money for a sub-standard room. The coasters for the glasses in the bathroom looked like they have not been changed since 1972. The duvet covers had to be removed because they were dirty, and the partial bay view may of been good if the windows weren’t so filthy. We were on holidays and paid extra for a nice room at the Westin. We were disappointed.

The location & view of the room . I called to see how loud I could have the TV and the operator said 15 . You couldn’t hear anything ! The security was called from the racist neighbor next door & the security was even worse to deal with ! He was so rude along with the operator on the phone . He said he could hear my conversation through the door (I had the bayview large room) which was a distance from the bed to the door . God forbid that I even wanted to celebrate Valentines Day if you know what I mean . The overall experience was hostile & unprofessional! $400 down the drain !

One thing that was not great, wa the customer service. It was not busy at all at check in, however, they handed us the key to our room and that was about it. They never mentioned anything about the bikes, or the ticket to Midway, or if there was breakfast available. It might as well be an automated check in. What is the point of having someone at the front? This aspect was highly disappointing.

Room was comfortable for two, we got the king size bedroom on the 11th floor. Cozy and welcoming. We had a minor issue with the shower, when you would turn the water on “hot” it would make a loud vibrating noise.. I believe it was the old pipes adjusting to the temperature, not a huge deal, shower still worked properly just with a noise. Other than that lovely stay. Room service was awesome as well. N/A

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, perfect for a vacation. I loved everything about the hotel I didn't like the fact that the girls at the bar stole my card numbers and continued to try in use my card through my trip and I new it was them because that was the only place I used my card at.Keep a lock on your card are use a tap card. Also I didn't like the fact the hotel charges you 60 dollars to park overnight and it's only 15 across the street which is also used by the hotel

Upon arrival, there was a barricade blocking the door and could not enter. There was no one there for valet parking or to give information for parking. We did not feel safe and had to change to a different Westin (within 30 minutes of booking). Now, I just received a charge for cancellation. We could NOT EVEN get in the door to enter the lobby. This is ridiculous that almost 1 month later, I get a cancellation notice and charge AND also a rating request. This is extremely unorganized and unprofessional and seems as if someone is not taking care of the business. Now, I am in the dispute process. Another negative impact. I knew when the door was barricaded, it was somewhere we should not stay.

At checkout, we were told that promise couldn’t be honored because the concierge wasn’t there and no one else had the authority to remove the fees. Not only were we misled, but our New Year’s Eve plans were completely ruined. Extremely disappointed with Westin’s handling of this situation.

Everything was good until we checked in and discovered we had gotten the wrong room. I had reserved 2 queen beds and they gave me a king size. Then, we discovered there was a leak in our new room and maintenance had to get there really late and there was so much noise with them upstairs trying to take care of the leak. I told the lady at the front desk but she said there was nothing they could do and charged me regular rate. Such a nuisance.

Location The rooms were extremely warm, air conditioning did not work, the phone did not work and the cord to connect the phone was broken not able to use, mold in the bathroom,, food was terrible, no robes in the room, , fan in bathroom didn’t work and dust everywhere.

Outside noise was distracting all day and night. Windows didn't help keep sound to a minimum. Sirens, trams, horns were just a start.

Misleading reviews. This is a glorified motel at boutique prices. The room was dated and depressing. Tired building, zero updates in probably 20 years. For families, take note it's in an office building. Don't waste your money

The hotel was in an excellent location just a short 2 block walk to the Santa Fe train, trolley. The room was nice with a view of the bay. We upgraded to include breakfast which was good but no variety after 4 days. The oatmeal was cold and no way to toast any bread. The staff was very friendly and helpful when needed. As a bonus there is a free shuttle to and from the airport which was very nice.

The room was very clean and spacious, check in was smooth and the lady was very kind. In the morning at check out, we waited about 10 minutes with nobody at the reception and no bell or anything to call someone. We were able to check out, but had to run to the next stop with our luggage to catch the bus we planned to take which only came every 30 minutes. Overall, good room and experience other than the shuttle and slight delays in desk service.

Great location in downtown San Diego. Completely walkable location. New looking hotel. My only complaint was check-in. Supposedly at 3pm. We arrived at 3:05 and was told our room wasn't ready, yet, and it would be a few minutes. After 45 minutes I asked about the room and was told it still wasn't ready. The one sided phone conversation sounded like housekeeping hadn't even started on the room. After I suggested they hadn't started yet because we booked through Expedia, they miraculously found the same room available one floor below our assigned room.

Decent room for the price. Pros: very comfortable beds, great view of the city, rainfall showerhead. Cons: doors don't have dampers so they slam easily, A/C was not fully operational, bathroom had no ventilation and bathroom door could not prop open easily.

Room is okay. Subpar for a 4 star restaurants. The bay view is too far and other three buildings are partially blocking the view, not exciting. The building and layout looks outdated inside. With similar price, Manchester Grand Hyatt would be a much better choice.

The A/C didn’t work all night. Never coming back to this hotel.

The newly renovated room was designed nice. They clean it everyday. The staff is friendly but strictly business no chit chat about why your there. They don’t go over the resort fee and what it includes at all. The restaurant in the hotel I can only say is not good since we went and got no service at all so left.

Would recommend within 20min walking distance to gas lamp district

- 5/5
The staff was friendly and attentive. The room was very comfortable. The hotel was close to the Amtrak station in walkable distance. I will return again the next time I’m in San Diego.
- 5/5
Great hotel got in way early from our flight and still got in our room. Same thing when we got back from our cruise. Got to the hotel at about 10:00am and still went straight to our room.

The only issue we had is the bed. Its so worn out the head is lower than the feet, and you sink towards the middle of the bed.
- 5/5
Airport Shuttle was a plus. Bar was nice but we did not spend much time there. Staff were incredible. Very nice, helpful, friendly and would definitely stay again. Close to walking to so many areas and felt safe waking even at night
- 5/5
Clean and comfy beds

The Westin Bayview is located a couple of blocks from the Santa Fe Amtrak Depot. This is a wonderful hotel from which to navigate to various great parts of the city, such as the Seaport Village, Balboa Park, and the Gaslamp District. The Westin is beautiful, clean, and has comfy beds. The staff is warm and welcoming. Well done Westin Bayview.
- 3/5
Room A/C didn’t cool below 70°F. Had to call front desk 3x times to follow up for a basic request - more pillows. Housekeeping vacuuming floors and slamming door of room next to us at 11PM. Decent business travel hotel - skip it for vacation stay at the Hyatt or something closer to the water. However our housekeeper Norma was an absolute delight.
- 5/5
Rooms were clean, staff were pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
My daughter and I had a blast. Great food, great service. The rooftop pool and hot top was a treat. We even lived riding the elevators. Great views of downtown and the bay!

The Weston Bayfront in San Diego is a gem. The staff was excellent. They are kind, timely, gracious, and efficient. The environment is a lovely and welcoming environment. Plus, as an Amtrak user, their location is an easy walk from the Santa Fe Station. Also, as a walker, the fact that the Weston is a 30 minute walk to Balboa Park and a few steps from the Bayfront is also a plus. Thank you for your thoughtful service Weston Bayfront Staff.
- 2/5
Staff were kind and helpful, and the bar/food was good, but the hotel itself was very disappointing. Our first room was dirty, the second needed maintenance, housekeeping was minimal, and common areas often smelled and looked unclean. The property is advertised as a resort, but it lacks resort amenities, and daily destination fees added no value — I would not stay here again.

- 4/5
It was a large property but everything was quickly accessible. Great location too
- 1/5
There is no parking for rental vehicles and valet isn’t included in your stay as it should be and shouldn’t have to pay extra for it.
- 4/5
We had a rough time getting our car valeted due to having a bike rack. The hotel also had a hard time tracking down a dog bed for our pet. These were both things we called in advance of and were ensured wouldn’t be an issue but were at check-in. Luckily, both issues were resolved within the first hour of our visit so that we could enjoy the rest of our weekend getaway.
- 4/5
Staff was super helpful and friendly. Beds are a dream!
- 2/5
The first hotel I’ve ever stayed at that didn’t offer some sort of complimentary breakfast. They only have a grab&go and a $25 breakfast buffet that had meager offerings. 4 elevators with 1+ minute wait every time. One of the “included amenities” is “pet friendly” but they actually require $100 pet fee so it’s not an included amenity at all and they don’t have a dog run, bags, or ANY nearby grass areas at all. The surrounding block is pretty empty, with the nearest breakfast place 3 blocks away. The coffee place across the street appeared to be permanently closed, and every other spot on the same block was closed on weekends, except 7-11. The staff was very friendly but I would not stay here again for the aforementioned reasons.
- 3/5
Staff was helpful the entire duration of stay. While we enjoyed the amenities, it was disappointing to have a surprise 60$ of fees assessed at the hotel that were not included in the original room cost. Please inform your guests of additional fees upfront so they can make informed purchases.
- 5/5
Everything was great, bar area was a bit warm!
- 5/5
Extremely Friendly Staff, easily walkable location (Dining, Bars, Grocery Store, Convention Center etc) Only downside is the parking around the hotel is pricy with No in& out privileges besides that everything is perfect
- 4/5
Hotel was nice and in a great location. They offered 2 hour bikes which was a nice touch since you're by the water. They also offered a social hour (beer, wine & snacks) every evening from 4-5p however there was no beer at the social hour for any of the days we were there. The room was on the smaller side but comfortable. Unfortunately the air conditioning in our room didn't work well and was not addressed even though we asked about it.
- 3/5
The staff up front were not very friendly or welcoming. Steve in parking area was most helpful. I made a mistake when making reservations through Expedia for 4 nights instead of 5. We arrived on Sunday. On Thursday we were out and received a call at 4:30pm saying we had to get our things and check out, which they could have told us much earlier. We rushed to the hotel and spoke to the staff up front and asked if we could stay one more night. They said they were booked. They didn’t offer to at least help find a room somewhere else. They just wanted us out of the room. I thought that was rude and that they didn’t care. Very poor service. Will not stay there again. I even fixed the sink in the bathroom. It was clogged. I should have charged for fixing it.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay at this property. I will definitely be back. My stay was very welcoming and the staff, maids were all very sweet!!

Valet parking
- 5/5
Nice hotel if looking to explore San Diego. Parking was expensive but there are parking lots close by that are cheaper. Would definitely return!
- 5/5
Alway when I come to San Diego have no more option than stay at Westin Bayview becausa I know will be an total excellent option.
- 4/5
Overall the stay was great. Staff was quick to bring an extra robe once we checked in and everyone we interacted with was nice and friendly. The room was clean and spacious and we had a nice view. The only thing I would have to comment on is that on our last day of our stay, we had filled out a breakfast waffle request per the Instructions and it never arrived. We were kind of counting on that for breakfast that morning since we would have a long day ahead of us. It was just odd that we did what we had to do to receive that service and it was not fulfilled.
- 5/5
The stay was awesome, the parking situation is the only issue I had, it was extremely overpriced.
- 5/5
This is the second time I’ve stayed here. I really enjoy this hotel and the staff is fantastic! A lovely hotel with plenty of walkable locations nearby.
- 5/5
Perfect location that’s walkable to multiple areas. The hotel employees were excellent and didn’t hesitate to help with anything that was needed. I certainly will stay here again.
- 4/5
Sometime around 3:50 PM on August 31, when I received a phone call to pick up my room key at the front desk at the lobby, another hotel guest demanded that my mother and I to get back in the line to check in, angrily refuse to understand that we got called to pick up the room key. His wife/girlfriend understood about us picking up the room key and tried to calm him down, but he showed refusal to listen to her and to my mother. The remark that I heard from him was that both my mother and I have "no education".
- 4/5
When it comes to the hotel, the stay itself was uneventful, which is to say that it was pretty average hotel experience. The 3rd floor outdoor patio with the swimming pool and the jacuzzi made the evenings so much better.
- 3/5
The lady at the front desk was a lil rude when I asked about the shuttle. Didnt like that attitude. Fix it. Wont likely be back ty no ty.
- 3/5
Parking is too expensive and services are not as reliable
- 4/5
Self parking is across the street. Only Valet is available at hotel. Unloading cars takes place off the street on the sidewalk, no unloading parking available
- 4/5
Good stay thanks
- 5/5
Had a great experience overall. Service, the cleanliness, the location everything worked out for us. Staff went above and beyond to take of things.
- 5/5
- 5/5
This was such an incredible experience, from the bell staff, cleaning crew, front desk, and the morning breakfast staff was beyond amazing. The room was cozy and the bed extremely comfortable , overall a great stay and looking forward to our next one.
- 5/5
We stayed for 5 nights and it was really great. Tara at the front desk was very kind and went out of her way to make our stay perfect. The pool, gym, and lounge area were solid as well.
- 2/5
Calling to get airport pick up to hotel- busy signal , cannot get thru for about 30 plus minutes Phone in room broken unable to repair during our stay so we could not order any room service or inquire about any hotel info beside walking down to lobby TV sound volume defected . Keep going up and down on show. Lots of old shows. Limited selection Initially, empty shampoo and body wash. The only saving grace was comfy bed, offer free airport shuttle, and mgr understood our situation, and waived the destination fee. For this caliber of hotel 4 plus we were disappointed.
- 4/5
The parking is not very easy. It is difficult to get to the valet, then when you finally do, they just drive the car across the street to the public parking lot. I am willing to bet parking is cheaper in the actual lot. Having a room with a view of the interior bar and the business offices within the building was disappointing. The drink tickets and the breakfast situation were not explained well.
- 5/5
Clean ; Good Customer Service
- 4/5
Room an odd shape, but functional.
- 5/5
Great hotel but had a lot of road construction that made it very noisy. Rooms and staff were amazing and great restaurant. Lots of cool restaurants and cool Donut Bar down the street. Great airport shuttle access. Hot tub was not warm/hot
- 4/5
The daily social hour was limited in the appetizer options, and the non-alcoholic drinks for those who do not drink alcohol.
- 5/5
Norma was our house cleaning member and did a great job. The room was made up well and clean. She emphasized on customer service. There is a small cafe at the hotel that sold breakfast sandwiches and a good cup of coffee. Great morning just sitting and catching up with friends. The work out facility was clean and large enough to have multiple cardio machines, several weight training machines, and a full rack or dumbbells. The facility was constantly being checked and cleaned by staff. The swimming pool was small in size out perfect just to soak and cool off. Plenty of sunbathing chairs in the pool area.
- 4/5
We booked this hotel last minute for a great rate. We didn’t pay extra for early check in and late check out. Beds were very comfortable and noise was minimal, even right by the elevator. The only lackluster part was the lack of umbrellas and shade by the pool. For the right price we would stay here again.
- 4/5
Location was amazing! Hotel clean. View great. Staff friendly. Food options available. Great to have airport shuttle. Downside: forgot how small double beds are. Our bathroom door would stick making it sometimes difficult to open. Pool rain out of towels one evening before 9 PM. Happy hour was a nice touch but very limited. Would go back.
- 5/5
Norma did a great job of keeping the room clean and making sure we had towels, coffee, …
- 3/5
Average. Staff nice but the place is old
- 4/5
The only thing is therevis no hotel parking
- 5/5
Happy hour snacks were delicious! Friendly staff and relaxing lounge.
- 5/5

- 4/5
It would be good if the property had a designated parking space for folks checking in. Otherwise, all good.
- 2/5
Nice
- 3/5
Hotel advertise as a comfortable stay. Marketing did a great job to make things look comfortable clean and luxurious for the cost. Checked in and the hotel was dark, plain, old, and simple. The rooms had a musty old smell and smelt like it was stale cigarettes. The bedding was moist and the floor was moist. The AC vent had dust pile on the vents. A guy committed suicide in front of our window. If I’m paying 2000 for a stay. Why are you using fabreeze to freshen the room? The decor was awful. Wire of the ceiling lamp exposed and stapled down. Hotel was not lively. I could have went to a different place for the same price with better atmosphere.
- 5/5
Lovely stay! Great room and the hotel itsel
- 4/5
Stay overall was great only complaint was the bed was not firm or comfortable. As for staff they could be friendlier and more helpful. I asked the server and bartender to please call my room and they both said ok but never did and avoided coming back to check on me.
- 3/5
This was meant for a quiet date night with my husband, we were awakened very early by police, sirens and a young man who apparently committed suicide from the pool level? Not exactly relaxing
- 5/5
It was convenient to find dining. It is also walkable to a lot of attractions.
- 3/5
Breakfast was crazy expensive, we had order two orders of pancakes did not taste good whatsoever for the price not worth it at all. Experienced something traumatic the morning of as well
- 4/5
Maid service no showed Sunday, otherwise everything else excellent.
- 5/5
Great place to stay in Downtown.
- 5/5
Excellent stay just lovely. Damien at the front desk made our stay great.
- 3/5
Otherwise, beautiful view, nice and comfortable bedding and robes. Bartenders in the bar area were cool and helpful. Lots of stuff to do and walk to in the area.
- 5/5
Great stay and location for tourism
- 2/5
Property is nice. Only thing I didn’t like at all was that we did not receive room keys for our room and needed a manager to escort all guests to their rooms and let them in, and check in was at 3pm but I did not receive my room (again with no room keys) until 8pm. 5 hours of waiting.
- 3/5
There was an issue having a clean room ready at 8p at night. But they were very nice to let me know when the room was going to be ready and called when it was ready. Was with my son - we loved the pool.
- 1/5
When I checked in the hotel. They told me no room was available & sold out. They transferred me to another 3.5 star hotel. I was not happy & very disappointed. I will never come back to Westin Bay View hotel again.
- 3/5
Didn’t get a room key, the machine was not working. Lobby restroom was disgustingly filthy! Room toilet backed up! Do

We came down for my cousin's wedding only to find out we had been bumped down the street to a much lower tier hotel
- 5/5
Great stay and great location
- 5/5
It was my first time there and I enjoyed every second of it. It was a getaway vacation from home and I loved how the staff was so friendly, they have valet for $60 per night. A little pricy but i’m sure would be the same anywhere else if it was a luxurious hotel. I will add that the kids who work at the valet can be a bit nicer and mature. I feel like it’s a bunch of teens who work there and don’t know manners. There was one guy who was very nice and helpful I wish I caught his name but I will remember a face next time I stay. I didn’t get to enjoy the pool and my free app/2 drinks as we wanted to explore more of SD but I love how that was a perk. The hotel room was clean, so was the bathroom and the sheets on the bed 100/100 as it should but sometimes hotels don’t keep it clean. It was in the middle of everything which would be walking distance to restaurants.
- 5/5
Unique

My husband and like Westin Hotels. The service was great especially at the bar area. Very friendly. There’s a couple of staff at the reception area tho that aren’t friendly. I’m a retired nurse and I have worked with patients and families. No matter what is happening internally, you just have to put your best effort to smile and look like you’re there to help the clients or guests on this situation. There were questions that I had and would leave and go back again because I forgot one question and like I said, there’s a couple of staff that I just had the vibe that they weren’t happy to give more informations like I was really bothering them. And, there was no one in line. Then I requested that I wanted my room to be cleaned or at least wipe down the vanity and re-stock the glasses, towels and throw the garbage. We got back from a long day of discovering the wonderful city of San Diego and the room was not cleaned. No fresh towels. I asked the front desk if someone can clean it while we’re out to dinner and the gentleman said “of course! The housekeeping are here during the day and night as well.” We got back from dinner, and no one had cleaned or even left clean towels! That was just my main beef about the my experience this time. Otherwise, we will still go back next year and I hope the staff will be better with their customer service.

This happened right in your lobby, yet no hotel staff inside intervened. The only people who stepped in were valet personnel outside, specifically Steven, who remained by my side and helped calm the situation until Jackson returned. His actions were professional and kind, and I believe he deserves recognition but the fact remains that the interior staff failed to act during a moment of clear distress. As a guest, I had every expectation of safety and support on your property. What I experienced was not only frightening but unacceptable. I am still shaken, and I believe it’s important that this be acknowledged and addressed properly. Given the severity of the incident and the lack of proper in-hotel support, I am respectfully requesting compensation in one of the following forms :A full refund for my stay at the Westin San Diego Bayview, or Two complimentary nights at your Westin Long Beach location to support me during my upcoming orientation at CSU Long Beach. I am a first-generation college student preparing to transfer, and I can provide documentation confirming my orientat

Valet says $60 a day. Why was I charged $177.98? Nice place but this doesn’t make it worth it.

This was the perfect stay and location. We loved our view from our room. The staff was excellent and friendly.

UNETHICAL HIDDEN FEES!!!! They reel you in with a fair low price and after your stay you’re hit with around an additional 50% in fees! Our stay was booked at $1,896 plus $60 a day for 5 days for Valet, and NO incidentals. Our total was $3,147!!! If I was going to know it would cost that, then I would’ve stayed at the Grand Hyatt who is upfront with their pricing and stays. STAY AWAY!!!

Front desk staff and valets aloof, unhelpful. Room amenities, refrigerator on 2-hour timer--useless to keep waters, drinks cold, no ice on top floors. My last stay there.

We reserved a bay view room. When we checked in we were given a city view room. The host at the front desk was very helpful and she quickly corrected this. When we got to our room the view was 90% city and 10% bay, and the windows were too dirty to enjoy the view. (See pic) The experience that marred the stay was the bag handler and shuttle guy. When I checked my bag and scheduled my airport shuttle for the next morning he let me know very clearly that he only works for tips. The next morning I had little cash and he told me that there is an ATM in the loby, and that he could break a bill if needed. When we got to the airport I asked for change, and he suddenly only had $8. He gave me a quick story about just filling up his wifes gas tank. I got the vibe that he's running a small scam op from his position.

The hotel itself was nice but the customer service was awful. When we checked in, we were told that if we want late check out, it would be until 1pm and to just let them know the night before. When we went to go request late check out, I was told we can only give you until 12pm, they said thats the absolute latest check out. The day of checkout, I noticed they charged me an extra $120 dollars, the total was supposed to be $803, they charged me $923. When I asked what this was for, they said because I had an "extra" person in my room. I told them when I booked, I put it was 2 adults and 2 children and I was given a different price, the lady at the front desk was very rude and said it doesnt matter, you still have to pay the extra $120. After going back and forth, she finally realized that they made a "mistake" and put 3 adults and 1 child instead of 2 adults and 2 children and thats why I had an extra charge. So after she was extremely rude and condescending as if I was making things up, she gave me a pity apology and said she would remove the extra $120. Then when I asked her what time is late check out, she said 1pm..... it seems like they are either ignorant as to their policies or they discriminate based on who they are talking to. Overall, being a Marriot Bonvoy member, I am very disappointed with the service I received.

Had an unfortunate event the first night with a leak in the room next to us. Fortunately, we were able to be moved to a different room and had a good stay after thst.

Honestly, I’ve had better stays at a Motel 6. Not what I expected from this hotel. Valet parking is 60$ a day, btw. Not impressed.

It was nice. It only sucked that our door broke while we were there and we had to switch rooms and ended up in a smaller room
