Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a mix of positive and negative experiences, with a majority leaning towards dissatisfaction. Common complaints include unclean rooms, poor maintenance, and unresponsive staff.
- Convenient location
- Affordable pricing
- Unclean rooms and facilities
- Poor maintenance and upkeep
- 2/5
There was plenty of parking but the bed was very uncomfortable and I could not sleep. The staff was very nice.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful.
- 3/5
The only thing that made this location was the staff! Our room seemed clean but hard to tell because things were VERY old. Our tv didn’t work, our blow dryer didn’t work. It was ok for what we needed but probably wouldn’t stay there again. The staff was AMAZING! Pretty much the only thing that made it bearable.
- 1/5
Smelly cigarette rooms when advertised as nonsmoking.
- 5/5
Highly recommend
- 2/5
Breakfast was mid but free to say the least. Cheap waffles, two cereal options, muffins, yogurt, juice; but free nonetheless so can’t be too judgmental. Parking is tight and limited; so if you have a Truck/SUV, it’s difficult but manageable. Surrounding area also had a lot of roamers in the late evening/night. Overall it’s a cheap motel so can’t expect anything more than bare minimum.
- 5/5
Everything was clean. Room service everyday. Very reasonable price for a stay.
- 3.5/5
The front desk clerk was pleasant to interact with. The air conditioner's reduce temperature button was physically broken.
- 0.5/5
Location No maid service for 5 days, repeatedly asking and no service.. completely unacceptable, 0 on a scale of 10
- 2.5/5
The outside looked presentable and photos gave you a feel of updated. The rooms were outdated and homeless were in the rear of the building moving between the other hotel. What appeared to be a homeless was sitting down eating rapidly and ate only 1/2 of a pile of 2 wafffles milk and juice and left quickly. Not secure for having to pay an additional fee for parking not identified in the advertisements.
- 5/5
The breakfast they offer should be the best.
- 3/5
The only problem I had was that my TV remote didn't work, at all.
- 4/5
Clean room, helpful staff, good location. The walls are thin so you can hear the noises from the rooms besides and above you.
- 0.5/5
Breakfast It smelled like marijuana . Even in the office
- 4/5
Very good
- 3/5
Cleaning, location and staff. Dark room, the corridor to access the rooms not easy with children.
- 2/5
staff was very nice. Front desk was nice, but our sheets had stains on them and our towels had hairs on them that were mine..
- 0.5/5
Nothing. The shower door did not close. The air conditioner didn't work. The fridge didn't work. The lights kept turning on and off. The elevator was so sketchy. I texted the number about the air conditioner and wasn't answered until I was checking out. I wouldn't stay here alone and I definitely wouldn't stay here with kids ever again. We aren't fancy people but at least have a working air conditioner. The pictures don't match the ones online because nothing they offered worked.
- 5/5
I like the staff very nice
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Great front office team highlighted by Anna!
- 3/5
Didn't have the breakfast Price a little high.. and had to pay extra $10.00 car fee
- 1/5
We wanted a bathtub, wifi, Everything
- 4/5
Nice, no - frills hotel. Conveniently situated near bus stop and not too far to walk to tram. Good breakfast selection. There is a good little restaurant in the hotel opposite, though oddly the front desk staff did not seem to know about it (or are told not to recommend it perhaps?) Changes for parking.
- 5/5
Es importante tener a una persona en la recepción que hable español, por favor. Gracias.
- 5/5
So it was definitely a very nice experience
- 4/5
Breakfast could have used a few more items
- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
Bed was horrible, room not clean
- 2/5
Years and this was my last time. They should change the mattress, fix the elevator and more. Breakfast is super limited also. The only positive is the location.
- 5/5
Very pleasant stay. Breakfast was a nice plus.
- 3/5
Breakfast was limited. Floor of our shower kept creaking every step. Everything else was okay.
- 1/5
The room itself was clean, but despite being designated as a non-smoking room, it had a strong cigarette odor. I reported the issue to the front desk; however, due to the holiday, the motel was fully booked and they were unable to move us to another room until possibly the next day.
- 2/5
No wifi, was told they had issues and were handling to repair service
- 3/5
The rooms smelled very clean and the parking lot was also. Breakfast was good. My only issue was when we woke up the next morning we found 2 roaches in the restroom.
- 5/5
Basic breakfast with waffles or cereal and milk. No eggs or other protein.
- 2/5
No air conditioning!!! Windows don’t open!! Gets very hot in the rooms
- 0.5/5
Dirty, roaches, no safe parking
- 0.5/5
Nothing Dirty, roaches, no safe parking
- 1/5
Poor water pressure, in the shower the floor sounded like you were going to fall through. Front desk seemed like it wasn't a issue they wanted to deal with. The continental breakfast was so poor Cereal, blueberry muffins that were old, and waffles. Poor variety.
- 1/5
I usually stay here when I'm in San diego. It's by a lot of places to eat and close to either Hillcrest or Gaslamp district and SeaWorld.
- 5/5
I haven’t stayed here in a long time before it used to be a dump, but I can say now that the floors are clean the room and bedding was clean. The bed wasn’t bad. The shower was clean so I would have to say it isn’t bad at all, I would stay here again. The only thing I can say is to me it’s a little bit overpriced, but it’s definitely clean and not as bad as many of the reviews said.
- 5/5
The staff is very helpful, and the laundry room useful.
- 3/5
Only good for stay, breakfast was pretty average.
- 3/5
Only good for stay, breakfast was pretty average.
- 2/5
Disappointing
- 1/5
Toilet barely worked, the shower was dirty when we showed up and the bedding smelled like cigarettes (luckily we brought our own blankets). There were homeless people fighting and the bathroom would reek of weed smell coming in from surrounding rooms.
- 3/5
Hotel being worked on. No outdoor sitting areas.
- 3/5
Friendly staff. Hotel being worked on. No outdoor sitting areas.
- 3/5
Check in was easy, it would have been nice to have known about having to pay for parking ahead of time. The room was clean but smelled like smoke when we went in. I made sure to call and let the front desk know since I signed something stating that I wouldn’t smoke in the room or I’d be charged. They offered to move us to another room but we declined, though I should have move because our AC was broken. The room got very hot and stuffy as there was no window to open for ventilation. Beds were okay, tv was glitchy. Bathroom was clean and shower was good. We didn’t eat breakfast but looked it over and it looked pretty decent, just busy and not a ton of room to sit and eat. Not a terrible stay, would stay again but not for the same price.
- 1/5
There had been an issue with one of the rooms on the 4th floor so that the walkway was blocked off. This made it so that the best way to access our room was to either take the back elevator up (which has a different awful smell every day) or take the front one and walk the perimeter of the top floor to reach your room (which should have been a few steps from the front elevator). The fire extinguisher holders in the walkway were empty. The front desk is not staffed at times throughout the day, making it difficult to get room supplies or to request housekeeping. The place needs more staff and more staff training. Wyndham - DO BETTER!!
- 2/5
Breakfast was waffles, cold cereal, & small yogurts, coffee & juice. I had never stayed at a Super 8 and other hotels breakfasts usually include protein (eggs, sausage/bacon) & I don't eat carbs so that was disappointing. Also, every morning my TV did not connect to the satellite. I was up at 4 a.m. one morning and 6 a.m. the other 3 days and I away turn on the cable news. I had to wait until staff was able to come in and fix the TV and one morning after fixing it & turning it off later it wouldn't connect that evening. The staff then put me in another room for my last night. Very annoying. Also, the air conditioner in my original room ran constantly and I had to turn it to 62 degrees and keep it there to cool the room. The temperature gauge had to be off as I would have been frozen if it was really 62 degrees. My 2nd room I didn't even need to turn on the air conditioner. I was in Room 212 to start and then moved to 202. I complained every day! I was not a happy camper!!!
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 4/5
Location was great
- 2/5
Breakfast items need to be added
- 2/5
In advance I asked for a bottom floor room for my mom is handicapped. We got top floor and had to walk all the way around the building to get to our room for there was caution tape and construction. Her walker barely fit going thru the railings. Things weren't working properly in our room. But the woman at the front desk was so professional and kind when dealing with another visitor who became agitated and said racist comments. I personally said something to the other visitor about his horrible comments. She handled it so well. I personally would have banned him from the property. I apologized to her on his behalf. With all that said unfortunately due to my mother's health conditions we will not be returning to this super 8.
- 3.5/5
Wish the floor was cleaner. The floors were dirty
- 1/5
I would not have stayed here knowing it was used as a shelter for the house less. The breakfast was horrible, the room was dark, the outlet plugs didn't hold a charge for my electronics. The shower would get you wet since the door opened on the opposite side. The microwave was old and need of replacement. You need to call each day for someone to clean your room. My key did not work. So each day I had to walk to the lobby for a new key. I will never stay there again.
- 5/5
The breakfast was very disappointing because there was no toast only waffles. I would have appreciated a toast and jam and butter. Simple. Perhaps adding bananas to the fruit basket instead of just tiny apples would be nice. The coffee was however phenomenal tasting!
- 4/5
The room was good. There were some strange people on the property at night. They were crowded by the dumpster. Other than that it was ok.
- 5/5
Good parking. Nice bed.
- 5/5
Yes all was great
- 4/5
Decent hotel no issues
- 3/5
Breakfast was grab and go, but sufficient. Overall quiet area, parking was fine. Rooms very basic. Average
- 3/5
No restaurant on site
- 5/5
It was a good stat
- 1/5
The property was blacked out many times, we couldn't use the microwave and the food in our fridge went bad too. There were roaches in our room!!!! Overall a horrible experience! I'd like my refund back!
- 5/5
parking was wonderful and outside was clean
- 4/5
Nice breakfast
- 5/5
From the front desk to the breakfast attendant to housekeeping all stood tall and were very friendly and efficient. Of course I will return!!!
- 5/5
Very nice room
- 4/5
A modest hotel and room, but comes with a breakfast. There is a nice mall nearby with several dining options. My stay here was quite satisfactory.
- 4/5
Free breakfast was mediocre, great coffee but all carbs. No proteins with the exception of mediocre yogurt.
- 5/5
Will stay there again
- 3/5
The room was clean, bathroom is okay. Maybe an air freshener would help with the smell. There is a smoke smell in the bathroom I don’t know where it is coming from. I am sensitive to smell, maybe it is just me. The attendant on the front desk are helpful as well as the one at the breakfast area. I like the breakfast, there is waffle, cupcakes, Quaker Oats, coffee and tea and also juices and milk. I enjoyed it and so does my child. There is also yogurt. Cold water and hot water too. We were there for the weekend. It was quiet. We had a good sleep.
- 2/5
1) There was a mix up with room assignment, and we found the room actively occupied. We walked back to the office, and the desk associate who first tended to us offered no apology or no compensation (discounted rate or voucher or so on...) for the inconvenience. Another staff member just reassigned us a different room. 2) Also, there were other customers smoking weed outside of the rooms. 3) Noticed that there were a couple of men loitering in the parking lot -- confusion of whether they were customers or just lingering outside for hours. 4) In addition, the gym equipment need attention, since some were broken. 5) Breakfast room was also chaotic and beyond capacity. The pancake or waffle maker was the most popular line -- perhaps increase the number of pancake/waffle makers. It was just so busy in the breakfast room, that we left and ate breakfast elsewhere. 6) The fan in the bathroom was not operating in the room.
- 1/5
I never stood at hotel it was canceled but yet im being charged so i would like to talk to agent 702 857-0283 you can call anytime
- 5/5
I spent several days researching hotels to stay at for my business trip in San Diego. Ultimately — I decided to go with Super 8 because it was economical, close in proximity to where I needed to go, and I had heard good things about them from others. Well, they did not disappoint! The property was clean, the staff was friendly, and the overall experience was smooth from check-in to check-out. I’ll definitely be back!!
- 4/5
I arrived late. The girl at the front desk was very helpful. Parked on the property for 10 dollars a day extra. The room was clean but really hot and being in San Diego was very humid. A/C didn't work very well. The property is really close to the airport and the beaches. I'm pretty familiar with the area so getting around was really easy but San Diego is an extremely busy city so give yourself a minute. No pool, self laundry, a ton of food options close by. You get what you pay for and I was really pleased with my stay in San Diego. I would probably pay for a more expensive option next time but all said I was pleased with my stay.
- 4/5
A good location. Very pleasant staff.
- 4/5
Parking spots are a little small, is a fair place to stay for the price.
- 2/5
Not too great
- 3/5
Property is alright needs , the bed in the room was old uncomfortable needs to be replaced .
- 4/5
Noisy neighbors inconsiderate the usual suspects
- 1/5
Property was very unsafe. Could not use amenities due to obnoxious drunks people doing drugs and fights on the premises. Hotel was quite run down and a coat of paint was thrown over rotting wood frames, linoleum floor was bubbling up in areas linen was worn and felt more like curtains than sheets. Property smelled strong of marijuana and urine. Elevator was disgusting and clearly used as a urinal. Property manager clearly just doesn't care. Definitely not worth the price charged. Definitely not for families, definitely don't recommend.
- 3/5
Bare bones hotel
- 2/5
My first room was flooded in the bathroom so they moved me to the opposite end of the complex. Wi-Fi was useless very little connection. The Verizon had one bar . The parking lot was very narrow, and the registration parking was blocked by construction workers.
- 4/5
Room was clean. Good location at end of hotel circle. Busy hotel.
- 5/5
They were under construction but overall pretty good .
- 3/5
Smell like smoking a lot
- 4/5
Room was clean and good staff. Enough paid parking. Breakfast: coffee and pancacke , yougurt and milk cereal. Easy access to the airport and activities places. Good for family within budget.
- 4/5
The staff was very helpful on arrival and departure. The breakfast was a little bit sparse at times. The breakfast room was very crowded. The room was very clean. We had an issue with the television which required a couple of contacts with management but it finally did end up working for us. It was nice and centrally located. That was good
- 4/5
Don't know that there's a pool but the staff was polite.
- 3/5
Room was clean, the staff seemed miserable. I appreciated the breakfast and the little housekeeper that was covering breakfast was amazing.
- 4/5
1st 2 nights I had a couple of issues with the ac, tv and bathroom so decided to head to the lobby and let them know and 2 of the reception ladies were nice enough to get me a different room and everything worked out
- 2/5
I switched rooms three times, because they smelled like smoke. I had to get a room on the fourth floor (which you take the stairs) in order to get a decent smelling room.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, easy parking, clean rooms
- 2/5
Rooms were okay with all basic amenities but they need so many improvements and should be more supportive.
- 5/5
Nice staff , clean room,
- 4/5
Check-in was quick and efficient and customer service by staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, bed was comfortable with clean white sheets and extra pillows. Room furniture and AC were dated and in need of a refresh, but in proper working order without any issues. Bathroom was a good size, shower had hot water, shampoo/conditioner and body wash which was a plus, and clean white towels. Included continental breakfast was minimal and could use a few more options, but is good enough to get you going. Laundry machine available on site and adequate parking. I’d recommend this location if you’re looking for a modest but clean place to stay while visiting San Diego. Close to all the major tourist attractions as well.
- 5/5
Check in was easy. Lots of parking both covered and uncovered. Stairs and elevator, all the rooms face outside. My room was extremely clean. It looks like they renovated the floors and the bathrooms. I had a nice walk-in shower. My single queen bedroom was pretty tiny, but it did include a microwave and a mini fridge. Lots of channels available on the TV. The worst part of my stay was the mattress. Very hard and uncomfortable. I had a hard time sleeping for more than a few hours before waking up. Also, if you like sleeping in a dark room, you better bring your goodies because there's light coming from everywhere. The exhaust fan in the bathroom barely draws air so when you take a shower all the hot air goes into the room. The air conditioner had a hard time keeping up, I had to set it to 67° just to get the room to cool down. Noise wasn't too bad, considering you're right next to a main road and the freeway. There were a few sketchy characters hanging around, I saw them both days I stayed so maybe they are regulars. The free breakfast is minimal, most people ate the make-it-yourself waffles. The coffee was good, though, and the breakfast area was kept clean. I don't think I would stay here again. Between the mattress and the light coming in from outside, I didn't get a good night's sleep. And the free breakfast, if you can call it that, was canceled out by the $10 parking fee per night.
- 2/5
They charged me $10 parking fee. I had never heard of that. Room was non smoking room and it reeked cigarette smoke. Old tv with direct tv, who uses that! No smart tv. And unit was not to clean! Breakfast sucked! Too small breakfast room for a lot of people. Only thing they had was waffles and cereal, thats it.
- 3/5
This property does not take pets. Found out when i went to check in. Rooms was clean, beds hard as a rock sleeping difficult, staff was great and breakfast few choices.
- 4/5
Breakfast was expected A line of people trying to make their own waffles - coffee and juice and cereal - all good. Nice clean room w spotless bathroom
- 3/5
Room not as clean as it should have been.
- 5/5
Gracias
- 2/5
I wished the breakfast is more solid and hot

It was extremely loud. I cannot remember how many times I woke ul during the night during my stay
- 5/5
Good experience so far , smooth checking in , parking was not included. It was about $10 a night .

- 5/5
The staff was very nice, breakfast simple (so what) with surprisingly good coffee, clean grounds and common areas, and a perfect location for exploring San Diego. I doubt anything better comes close for the price.
- 5/5
The staff were kind, the breakfast was well done, and the room was comfortable and clean.
- 1/5
Second hand smoke- neighboring rooms.
- 3/5
Hidden parking fee charges, breakfast option very limited.
- 2/5
Hair on the bathroom sing and toilet had to spray lysol and clean all over again in
- 1/5
Not cleaning
- 4/5
The hotel is a little old but had a good nights sleep and breakfast in the morning. Check in was simple and clerk very efficient.
- 2/5
Elevators were not available, it was very painful to use stairs due to medical condition.
- 3/5
The beds were small definitely not queen size the pillows were the worst ones I've ever slept on the front desk staff were great but couldn't even communicate with the house keeper because she didn't speak or understand English
- 5/5
best super 8 room in a years
- 1/5
I haven't received my $200security deposit I was charged twice. Even when I told the guest receptionist it said approved the first time.
- 3/5
Yes.
- 4/5
The room cleaning and customer service were excellent; however, the elevator was not working during my stay.
- 1/5
Smelly rooms
- 1/5
The whole building is disgusting. The included breakfast had like 3 options. Yogurt, cereal or a waffle. The police were called twice for different “residents” just that we saw, I’m sure there was more while we were gone. And everything smelled.
- 3/5
I would rate my stay at Super 8 by Wyndham San Diego Hotel Circle three out of five stars. The room and overall property looked clean, and the basic amenities worked as expected, which met my minimum standards for a short stay. However, there was an unpleasant smell that made the room feel less comfortable and affected the overall experience. While the hotel was acceptable and functional, the odor issue kept the stay from being more enjoyable or something I would rate higher.
- 5/5
Great price and good breakfast.
- 5/5
The rooms my son stayed at were very clean and so was all the staff. Had a great experience.😊🙏❤️🙌
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 3/5
Staff should knock loudly before opening the door when I was naked 2 separate times
- 5/5
The only issue I had was that there needs to be a designated smoking area. I would walk out of my hotel room and get inundated by cigarette smoke.
- 5/5
Clean quiet room. Comfy bed.
- 1/5
There was feces in the room when we checked in and my son stepped right into it as soon as we walked in, fortunately they moved us to another room. Room service didn’t service our room the whole time we were there, which meant no clean towels until we had to go ask for them. The breakfast was a very limited selection in a small room which was always packed and long lines just to make a waffle.

- 4/5
We were there for one night. Sadly for like 4 hrs of sleep because of our original flight was cancelled. But Yuvi was wonderful and accommodating for us getting in so late.
- 5/5
This three-star hotel in San Diego offers great value for money! Although it's just a three-star property, it covers all the basics and even includes breakfast. The breakfast options aren't extensive, but they're enough to fill you up. The cleanliness is decent too. Overall, it's a stay that gives you what you pay for.
- 2/5
Todo mal no volveria
- 1/5
This property is absolute trash. We left minutes after checking in. Transients everywhere and their dogs jumping on my kids. Horrible experience. Just gross. The lady at the counter was kind and understanding and let us cancel our next 3 nights. This place should not be marketed to the public. It’s a homeless shelter.
- 2/5
Room felt negated, I thought it would get clean sheets after 3 days and towels. Bed was awful and uncomfortable
- 1/5
Worst.too many homeless on the hotel and around
- 5/5
Very nice, clean, seemed recently remodeled.
- 2/5
The hotel smells of the bad odor of marijuana. I would prefer skunks over that smell. The smell was coming from multiple rooms. Also, the beds have wheels on them which is awkward and dangerous.
- 2/5
Room was okay, tv work sort first night then didn’t after. Tried calling front no one would answer tried multiple times. Area isn’t very good at all
- 1/5
The only thing they provide for you is waffles.A dirty ass counter and coffee i will never come back to this property
- 5/5
The staff was exceptional. They helped us with whatever we needed help with. Housekeeping is there everyday to trade out towels or get more supplies for your room. It was a great 9 day stay.
- 5/5
Staff was great, the room was very clean.
- 5/5
Hospility perfect and the breakfast towel the sheets and everything else super clean.
- 1/5
my car window. Got broken on their property never recommended any one to go over here worst place to book a hotel
- 5/5
Great staff and very accommodating and free breakfast! Clean room for the right budget. I would stay there again.
- 4/5
The staff were friendly nice the room was clean breakfast was okay but I didn’t like was there were too much homeless in the breakfast room and they were taking all the food and on the premises other than that it was good
- 5/5
Excellent room. Good to stay and gets good breakfast. Clean and nest rooms.
- 2/5
For comparison, we stayed at the Super 8 in Yucca Valley before this, and their service was far better. This hotel seriously needs to address its housekeeping and communication issues. I would never stay here again, nor recommend it to others.
- 1/5
I expected the team should have been sensitive not to allocate the room on 4th floor where the Weed smoke is as common as air. With Family and a 3 year old Kid, it was a horrible to experience weed smoke 24 hours. The room was never cleaned in 3 days stay. The bathroom was not cleaned. long queue in breakfast area for Waffle make. The only good thing was the behavior of receptionist .
- 4/5
Na
- 5/5
Easy check in and very clean room. Loved the size
- 3/5
Room key needed to be reset by staff every day causing congestion and long waits at the front desk as we all tried to get back in our rooms. Bizarre
- 3/5
.
- 5/5
Yes clean room
- 4/5
Room was clean. Breakfast had limited selections but okay.
- 3/5
I asked for a ground floor room. They don’t have any. The room was clean but the shower floor is slippery. I had to hold on to the bar the whole time and I didn’t even take a shower the second day.
- 5/5
clean
- 1/5
The room was ok, but they have renovations and the doing too much noises. They should not rent out the room if they have ongoing renovations
- 5/5
All good
- 4/5
Staff was courteous, rooms were clean, only complaint was elevators didn’t work and we were on the 4th floor
- 5/5
Clean room nice area I had a pleasant stay!
- 2/5
Had to reset key every day. Room had a distinct odor. The "breakfast" was inadequet.
- 2/5
The staff was fantastic. Rooms were average, but could definitely use some new carpeting. My real complaint isthat we couldnt use the luggage dolly to get to our room. Trash cans on the floor block the dolly from getting through - you can use the dolly to get from your car and up the elevator, but not to your room.
- 2/5
Walls to thin. Water pipes loud all night. Extra charge on parking now.
- 1/5
Could not sleep. Everytime someone showered there was an extremely loud noise. Will never stay here again.
- 3/5
I’ll start with the worst which was the bed, it’s was nothing but springs. I slept terribly the entirety of my stay. Room was clean as was the bedding. Fridge was cold. Considering it being right by the expressway, it was fairly quiet. Property could definitely use some sprucing up. Stay was affordable and convenient to Scripps which was the purpose of my stay. Front desk staff that checked me in was very friendly and proffers. As was the breakfast room staff. Although I was displeased with the bed, I would still consider staying here again
- 4/5
Room was small but clean
- 4/5
Clean, friendly staff, quick and easy check in.
- 2/5
The rooms and bedding were clean and the staff was helpful and accommodating, but the hotel is run down and dated. There are numerous issues with the property that need to be taken care of. We were forced to change rooms twice. Once because the shower in our room and once because there was some sort of leak and water was coming up from under the floor boards.
- 1/5
Is bad
- 4/5
The room was spotless and very comfortable! except for the pillows, they were hard like rocks and the water oressure from the shower too harsh
- 5/5
.
- 4/5
The room is very outdated. The TVs need to be replaced. The floors were dirty, the walls are pretty banged up needs some updating but the check-in and the people in the front office were very very good and they’re very good representatives of Wyndham. Thank you.
- 1/5
Front desk in night awful, many people drinking alcohol like in a party
- 4/5
Not enough food varieties
- 5/5
The room was clean, and the staff were kind, helpful, and certious.
- 3/5
I had a one night stay that was last minute. I had to pay a $100 deposit and a $10 fee to park my rental car (unexpected but I didnt check). It is an older hotel but close to my event. Everything worked, tv, air, hot water, microwave so I was good. I would stay there again but not for more than 1 or 2 nights because it is close to several attractions.
- 3/5
Yes
- 1/5
Rooms were no clean and amenities were also not good. Very bad vibes.
- 5/5
The room was clean and the breakfast was decent.
- 2/5
Pathetic experience while staying here, people are doing party in front of room in parking lot and speaks loudly to disturb others whole night. I would not prefer to stay here again.
- 5/5
Check-in experience was great. Had to add another day for my nephews room...it went super easy. Staff was great and friendly. I have stayed here before and probably will again
- 3/5
Common place!
- 3/5
Luke warm water in shower, not hot. This was unacceptable. I will never stay here again and I come to mission valley often.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Will lighten parking. Nice staff.
- 1/5
The bed was very uncomfortable, the sinks, mini fridge was old and the tv sucks.
- 5/5
Stayed one night; front desk was very helpful when I mixed up our check in time and helped us check in early. The room was clean and ready when we got there. The shower had a small leak that made it drip the whole time, but if the bathroom door was closed it didn’t make much noise. Breakfast is very limited, but better than nothing. Overall a great stay, would come back.
- 1/5
Had to be moved twice to different rooms...shady people there... Not a good experience.
- 1/5
There was only one chair for two people in an accessable room. When asked for another was told that was the pollicey. The accessable room was at the back of the building, My walker would not fit between the maids carts and the raill. Re[orted toilet seat was loose. No one came to fix it. I had to fix it myself.
- 3/5
The motel needs a good cleaning outside and paint job. The sleeping experience was not perfect. There are weird loud noises that happens during the course of the night and it makes me feel like a pipe is going to blow behind the walls. The pillows are uncomfortable and the sheets are limited. I think I fall under I get what I paid for. I will not return to this hotel.
- 2/5
The room was fine for the price but the external property seemed old and rundown. It was hard to bring luggage to the room on the very narrow walkways on each floor.
- 1/5
Staff was friendly but never responded to a text message they said we could request things through. We needed an extra towel and pillow.
- 1/5
Not the best experience starting with stains and hairs on bathroom towels. Toilet clogged, ac stopped working multiple times, there was a spider in corner of ceiling and breakfast was just to small of choice no options! The whole place is very unsanitary all around the building!
- 3/5
The housekeeping ladies are really nice and helpful also the lady in charge of the breakfast room
- 5/5
Whenever I'm saying in San Diego I definitely choose this location as my go to spot. Not only is it a great location, close to the 8 freeway as well as local shopping malls and grocery stores, but you can't beat the price which includesfree breakfast and very clean and modern rooms. The hotels staff is also wonderful and very professional. They always make the check in and check out process seamless and I appreciate their hard work. I definitely recommend this hotel.
- 2/5
Staff was great. Was not very clean.
- 5/5
Very quiet
- 3/5
Everything was great except for the wifi
- 1/5
At night it sound like they were fixing the room above us so we didnt sleep well. The person next to us was yelling loud and being vulgar. The trash cans outside were always filled to the top. The ac kept shutting off. We came back in the afternoon and our key was not working. The "breakfast" no thank you... very suspicious people around. Definitely not gonna chance staying at a super 8 again. IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE...
- 3/5
Nice
- 1/5
I have stayed here a few times this past month and was double charged and was only refunded half of my money, the last room I stayed in had a camera in the smoke detector and was wired like a camera. I’d like my full refund or a credit for a stay
- 4/5
Very friendly counter staff
- 3/5
Had to pay $10 for parking. The bed was not comfortable. Can hear everything outside due to the door having a gap in the door jamb. No fault of the hotel but had a drunk stranger (who I would guess to be homeless) knocking on my door at 3am. He was quickly advised he was at the wrong location.
- 3/5
Breakfast not much. Toilet extremely noisy
- 4/5
Thank for evening
- 2/5
Felt unsafe, police was knocking on another persons door, drug use bust?
- 5/5

- 1/5
The room was completely dirty Everything is old and falling apart stains on the curtains stains on the lampshades Marks and the toilet shower rail is coming out of the wall. Homeless people were in the parking area. They charge for parking when they never charged before. Breakfast was cheap and not good.
- 4/5
I was fine till the deadbolt on the door would not lock When I went to report it to the gentleman at the front desk who took my information, but I had to go back 3 times to get a status report. It took almost an hour for someone to come and look at it. Then I had to make suggests on how to fix it.
- 1/5
The room had an incredibly heavy smoke smell and all of my luggage now has a lingering smell. There were homeless people hanging out in the carpark watching you come in and out. I booked three nights and left after night one. Spend the extra money for one of the better hotels down the street
- 4/5
No airport shuttle
- 1/5
N/A just terrible front desk personnel
- 3/5
I was expecting something different
- 5/5
Great value staying at the Super 8. Nice breakfast and centrally located to the freeways and other attractions in SD. Waffles for breakfast were awesome and rooms are a little on the older side but clean and did it's job. Can't complain for the rate they charged. I would stay here again for sure.
- 3/5
Convenience of beaches… floor of shower area was terrible . It made a lot of noises. You could tell when neighbors were showering by the sound.
- 4/5
It’s enough for a short trip. Nothing fancy or extra but can get to snapdragon or the zoo with ease.
- 5/5
Business friendly, great staff good location
- 4/5
Friendly and helpful staff, clean room, a good basic hotel . A good value for the money.
- 1/5
Staff is incredibly rude. I was not able to stay the two nights I booked due to a family member on hospice declining and they still said they had to charge me the two nights I booked and I had to call the 800 number. Nobody at the 800 number could help me either.
- 4/5
Easy quick check in, friendly and fast service, located near lots of stores
- 5/5
Thank yoi
- 1/5
Noisy, needs upgrading
- 5/5
Window air conditioner was very loud and cycled on and off too frequently.
- 5/5
Very polite and professional
- 5/5
Staff was very polite and professional
- 5/5
We are planning a return trip and this is where we are planning to stay.
- 2/5
DONT STAY not worth any money. starting off with the office staff so rude and uninviting had a bad attitude. Then we get into our room where the the Tv was broken, one of the drawers had a string as a handle, the shower had zero pressure and the sink water came out soo fast and hard it would get all over the place. You have to pay for parking when there is no notice of that when booking. All ice machines were broken. The pillows felt like someone tried to hand make them and ran out of stuffing. Signs all over the property NO SMOKING and NO ANIMALS but you can hear and see dogs all over the place and everyone was smoking you can smell it as you walk down the halls. No worth the stay
- 5/5
viewing is so great
- 5/5
The young lady and John were very friendly and professional thanks again guys for a awesome stay will be back
- 3/5
This hotel is old. I have to take the stair from parking lot to 3rd floor. The elevator is exist, I have walk from my room to vehicle via elevator a long way. The breakfast is very basic food. There is no eggs, potatoes, bacon, etc. I felt a little dissatisfaction, but I could return this hotel, anyway.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Clean room.
- 1/5
The room was rather smelly; I had two rooms; I requested those to be adjacent as well. It did not happen. For the second room, the key entry did not work; Had to go back and forth between the front desk and forth floor room, multiple times as there was battery problem with the unlocking mechanism, then battery was put the wrong direction. It is poorly managed from top to bottom. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Great waffles!!
- 5/5
Good stay.
- 4/5
All of the staff were very polite and helpful. The breakfast was good. All I have to say is the area has traffic in the "circle" other than that it was great 👍
- 1/5
From the desk, the receptionist mixed up and charged our room reservation with my moms, she offered free parking to make up for it. That did not happened, the room smelled like bleach, the toilet kept running water, not enough ventilation it was very muggy and humid, the room was noisy, beds were hard, no coffee machine in the room. They did serve breakfast but no eggs or meet only waffles. Being that it was around san diego i thought it would have been nicer especially because the hotel was advertised as super 8 by Windham. I wouldn't stay here its best to pay a little more to sleep better.
- 4/5
Alot of homelessness around the property late and overnight.
- 2/5
Bed sheet has a lot of lint and hair. Bath towels have some lint on it.
- 1/5
We did not get to stay they tried to run my card before I got there I had to get off the phone and on an air plane and by the time I got to the air port they had cancelled my reservation and gave my room away because my card declined it. I don’t feel like that was right because I booked a hotel room with them
- 5/5
nice location, great that all the hotels are in one spot, means that its only going to be full of people when they are checking in or out. and people that need not be in the area will stick out like a sore thumb
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was nice.
- 1/5
Tv wasn't working in my room. AC didn't work
- 4/5
Reasonable budget accommodations. Room was clean and the area is safe with many hotels nearby. The complimentary breakfast was adequate with waffles, yogurt, muffins, and a couple cereals + instant oatmeal. Room was small and beds were comfortable. Good soaps in the shower. Property is old and the elevator needs an overhaul. Tight parking lot but the spaces are wide in the uncovered area. Overall this hotel was suitable for the price in an expensive city.
- 4/5
Is good like A/C
- 1/5
There were hair in the shower and we requested an early check out instead of 2 days we stayed one and got charged for 2 nights. Now it’s very hard to correct the charges. Been asked to talked to Expedia the Expedua asked to talk to hotel. Terrible experience not going back there
- 4/5
Room was clean but property is very dirty and almost looks abandoned from the back side.
- 4/5
it was quiet on convenient for my few days stay in San Diego Ca.
- 2/5
Didn’t hate it but didn’t love it. Only chose it cause it was affordable
- 5/5
I didn’t like people were smoking and not told anything
- 4/5
Very nice staff hotel very nice location for going anywhere bed was not comfortable
- 4/5
I slept pretty good. Floors were dirty and the shower leaked water onto the bathroom floor
- 3/5
Supposed to be non-smoking. However, the next door neighbor was smoking dope so I did not care for that especially since I have COPD and asthma. And, my fault, I should have looked closer, I thought there was swimming & there was a swimming pool. l was disappointed that as well that it said called continental breakfast. Continental breakfast should breakfast should be more than just waffles and cereal on top of that the TV didn't work when we got there.
- 5/5
Everything was great.
- 2/5
Passable
- 4/5
The first room they gave me was not made up (food and towels everywhere), and the TV in the second room was broken, but they fixed these things quickly. Also keep your eyes open for all the sketchy people hanging out in the parking lot!!!
- 2/5
Our room had fruit flies, fridge was very dirty .
- 3/5
Thr staff is very friendly and kind. Rooms are more older fashion with beds that have mattresses very hard. Breakfast consists of waffles, cereals, fruit, muffins, yogurts, coffe amd juices.
- 1/5
The worst hotel stay i have ever had. Dirty sheets, horrible hotel manager- the guy who limps-- he has no idea what customer service is. Very insultive and rude. The toilets dont flush and d breakfast was the worst.
- 1/5
Sheets had black maggots in it. A bad stain too was in the sheets showing no efforts to wash it. The toilets dont flush. Lughts were fluckeing and the hotel manager was the rudest ever. That man who limps is a horrible horrible man. Then the breakfast was the worst ever. By far the worst hotel i have ever stayed at.
- 1/5
We checked in and were assigned a room. When we opened the door to our room, the door was broken. Once inside, the room had not been cleaned yet. There were dirty blankets and sheets on the floor next to the beds, and dirty towels on the bathroom floor. There were trash bags sitting next to the beds ams the toilet seat was cracked. The motel exterior was also old and dirty. As we walked back to the check in desk, every other air conditioner unit for the rooms that we passed by had ice buckets under the ac unit to collect the leaking water from them. The building itself was old and unkept, and visibly in over all disrepair. Because we booked through a third party, we could not get a refund so we had to wait for another room to become available. however the staff were able to refund us the $10 parking fee. For the cost of almost $200 a night, I would not recommend this motel.
- 2/5
Rooms cleaning
- 4/5
Easy acces to the freeway. Close to the zoo.
- 3/5
The breakfast was very basic and the rooms old, but ok for one night. We felt safe and the room felt clean.
- 3/5
Stairs were very convenient while the elevator was too far. Too much noise and loud music early in the morning.
- 4/5
May improve on tvs
- 3/5
You get what you pay for. Everything was adequate but not great. Shower pan was creaky & worn. Front door was hard to open. Air conditioner did not work well. Bed was not comfortable for 2 people. Continental breakfast was minimal. The price was very good & location was right across the freeway from my son's new place, which is why we chose that location. People at the front desk were very friendly & helpful.
- 4/5
Average place to stay
- 2/5
We were early for our check in at 1:00 pm. Tiffany was the person to help she was rude took care of other people while I waited for her to help us! When I came back a little after 3pm was in front of her register for at least 5 min she didn’t acknowledge me. Next customer walks in she told them that they were changing shifts, but never said anything to me. She was rude and not the kind of person you would want greeting people upfront. After that, we checked in with Enedina, very good customer service smiles, asked how we were doing was very nice. Very helpful. She made us feel more comfortable. That’s the kind of person that you need upfront.
- 1/5
The toilet made loud noises all night. Lamp did not charge cell phone. Dirty toilet. Parking was not free.
- 3/5
Well the staff was very nice but there seemed to be alot of shady people around all the time- kinda like they lived there
- 3/5
Run down but clean
- 4/5
The room was clean, the bed was a little on firmer than I would have liked, but otherwise the room was fine. It was reasonably priced and conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. Perfect for a quick weekend getaway in San Diego.
- 5/5
Overall my stay at Super 8 was pleasant. The staff was accommodating, and friendly. The room was fairly clean w a nice updated shower. My king room also came w a fridge and micro which was a welcome surprise. I always check the bed and the mattress corners, and both the mattress and box spring had clean protective covers on them. The shower was nice, and the towels were clean. The area is fairly safe and there is a diner next to the motel which closes at 10pm. The free breakfast is simple w some apples, cereal, packaged muffins, yogurts, coffee, juice and two waffle makers. That's a pretty good spread for a simple carb heavy breakfast. The motel let me check in fairly late like 10pm w no issue which was really welcome too. You can also walk 15 minutes to the closest mall whcih has shopping, movie theater, and food court choices. Overall the stay was a solid B+, and I recommend it for a clean local stay.
- 5/5
It rocks
- 3/5
Very kind and helpful service. Room smelled musty and was outdated. Fixtures hadn’t been cleaned/dusted in some time. Bed and bedding was clean and comfortable. Elevator displayed inspection certificate that was out of date. I felt fine staying here with my husband during comic con. Wouldn’t have wanted to stay here alone.
- 4/5
The place was clean
- 4/5
I liked that it was clos
- 3/5
We stayed for three nights. The first night our AC wasn’t working. It was so miserable. We notified the front desk the next morning and they got it fixed. Other than that our stay was good. Room did it purpose of giving us a place to sleep and shower while away for the weekend.
- 4/5
Complimentary breakfast could’ve been better, ice machine was broken. Rooms didn’t appear online to be as small as they were.
- 1/5
So reduced paths to walk through to get into your room. Not even a bottle of water for a $350usd ish rnt is not acceptable. Cero dinning options after 10pm. Definitively not in my list to stay in again.
- 2/5
The highlight of the stay was the front desk staff who were so friendly and informative. But because of the lack of sleep due to uncomfortability, I would not stay here again
- 5/5
We loved the stay. Thank you!
- 2/5
When we walked into our hotel room we were very disappointed. None of the lamps worked expect one and the mini fridge would leak. Probably wouldn't return back here.
- 4/5
location , little run down
- 4/5
It was nice and worth it for the price ;however, one thing was that there was no AC in the bathroom.
- 4/5
It was close to the zoo. Also a nice mall nearby. The staff was very helpful and fixed the tv right away. The beds and pillows were great. It is an older property and could use a little sprucing up.
- 3/5
Pretty basic place. Not very secure with uncontrolled access to the rooms. Couple guys hanging around. We joked that they probably sold drugs. Half joking.
- 1/5
The air conditioning stopped working in the middle of the night. There was a light in the shower. Felt that someone was watching. The other room did not have the same thing in the shower. Show the front desk and he felt it was strange as well. Beds suck. Not worth the money at all.
- 1/5
Staff at front desk was nice and helpful. Our room was clean and seemed updated. The outside was not clean. I stayed there one night with my two sons for baseball games at SDU. At around 10:30 PM, a verbal fight was happening outside of our door. People were threatening each other. A little while later, the couple in the room next to us started fighting and pounding on things. Someone even attempted to open the conjoining door to our room! Scared my kids to death! The walls are paper there so we can hear everything. I tried to see if it would die down, but it didn’t so I called the front desk and they called that room and the fighting stopped. However, the guy there was either playing video games or talking loudly Until almost 5 AM. We had to get up at 6 AM for baseball. Needless to say, my son was not his best for a game with scouts there. The noise level was awful. You can hear everything going on. Car alarms kept going off. You can hear other people‘s toilets, door, slamming, conversations. We are so exhausted. I really think I overpaid for that place. I wish I chose a different one.
- 5/5
Immediately upon arrival we were greeted by amazing staff! They were very kind and welcoming and checking in went really smoothly! I had an amazing stay!
- 1/5
Spencer the hotel attendant was super nice!
- 4/5
Location is great, rooms are fine
- 5/5
on July 4th, 2025. Our friends were woken up in the middle of the night by a guy next door screaming. We notice a few shady people walking around late at night that seem to be living at this hotel. Hotel was very clean and the staff could not be better.
- 4/5
Room was small, but clean & quiet. Close to shopping & restaurants. Lots of parking spaces.
- 4/5
My only complaint is the 5/10 days to get my deposit
- 5/5
Not bad for the price
- 2/5
There a people living at the hotel and make noise all night, there were people blasting music, arguing, in and out of their rooms and slamming the doors
- 5/5
The front desk was cordial and informative. Made our stay pleasant. Everything was as expected and advertised. No unpleasant surprises. No hassles. Hotel was centrally located making all of our destinations just a short drive.
- 4/5
The room was clean and beds were comfy. The area felt safe, and we got back late several nights. Parking was a little tight in out big SUV, and the water pressure on the shower was low. No big issues. Definitely great for the price and easy to get everywhere we were going.
