It was a great hotel. It was walking distance to the trolley so we didn’t need to rent a car. The only thing I didn’t like was the functionality of the bathroom. While it looked beautiful, the bathroom door was a barn door with no lock and it had a frosted window panel in the middle of the door. My husband went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and the light showed through onto the beds keeping the other occupants awake.

I do think you should have a variety of breakfast meat instead of one choice per day. Overall I Loved it

The room was very clean as were the hallways and elevators. The staff was the highlight. The bar food was so so and the pool water was always a bit cloudy compared to the hotel next door.

Our room was just above the bar/entrance to the pool. So no privacy at all. Also the curtain doesn't close all the way and you get a ray of light right on your face. Very bad design of the room. The TV is not in front of the bed.

Very close to the port, parking was easy . Breakfast had a good amount of options. It was a great stay prior to our cruise. The light from the bathroom was so bright at night.

Was here for a concert. The staff was friendly and had an answer for every question I had. Breakfast was delicious and was close to many restaurants when it came to dinner. My whole stay was great and would stay here again

Upon check in it was a quick process but we did not realize we were not explained everything. We had to call and ask for the WiFi code, we had to call and ask about the continental breakfast, we had to ask for our room to be cleaned. Twice we called for extra blankets, our thermostat kept reverting to cool. The second request we waited 45 mins. I called again after my kids woke me up And said they were cold. The rooms are “cleaned” every other day. Meaning new towels and wiping down the bathroom. No vacuuming, we were asked if we wanted the bed made……also tiny trash can in a double bed and pull out sofa. We just ended up getting trash bags and collecting our trash everyday. The breakfast is ok…not too kid friendly tofu hash browns, spicy chilequiiles….won’t stay here again.

Our stay was nice, proximity to the cruise terminal was perfect for us. We were there for only 1 night for a cruise the next morning, so location was everything for us. Only 2 minor complaints are how firm the mattresses ended up being and the barn door with frosted glass to the bathroom/toilet. Could have been better with even a solid door. We miss regular standard bathroom doors, or even pocket doors, just our bias. Great property overall, the complimentary breakfast was easy and the staff were amazing! I don’t think we would stay again because of the beds, but if you don’t mind firm mattresses, this place is great!

The room was spacious and comfortable for our family of three. We stayed on the 17th floor and the view was fantastic. The pool was heated, and our child really enjoyed swimming there. The breakfast was also very good. Another great convenience was that we could easily rent a car downstairs right next to the hotel. Overall, we had a great stay!

The breakfast was okay, nothing special—just your typical hotel breakfast. The biggest issue we had was with the valet service. Every time we needed to get our car or drop it off, there was no valet attendant present, and we had to wait around, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The hotel has potential because the rooms were clean, but the valet service and the misleading Bayview upgrade were definitely letdowns.

The room needs a refresh! They're tired looking and dingy. I had to ask for extra cleaning when I checked in of the refrigerator, in addition to the cleaning I do myself. The staff is great, as is the location!

I would like this hotel it’s close to everything especially if you ready for your cruise and just try to cross from the hotel walking distance. It’s only 10 minutes from the airport. It’s beautiful and everything close by I will stay here again for sure

Our only complaint is that we were told our King Bed Suite that we reserved was unavailable/sold out. After explaining that we would like to go elsewhere to get what we’d reserved, a King Suite magically became available, just like magic.

We love the convenience of the location. We could walk to the USS Midway, Seaport Village, the Maritime Museum. We could also watch the Holiday Bowl parade from the hotel room. It was unfortunate that it was raining heavily on NYE. The fireworks were canceled. We had the ideal room for the display. Our room was supposed to be cleaned every other day by housekeeping, however cleaning was missed a couple of times. Staff are professional.

Everything was perfect. Location was fabulous for walking just about anywhere and was across the street from the Santa Fe rail station if you needed to get a little further. We had a room with a view of the marina and the USS Midway which was lit up for Christmas. Parking really convenient. Staff were amazing. Always so friendly and helpful. 5th floor has a rooftop bar with heaters and TVs and views the bay. We will be back!

The location is excellent for walking around by the bay front, and for taking the trolleys. The breakfast is excellent, fresh, good choices. Also, you can take bus right outside of the hotel to the airport for 15 minutes, only $2.50. But you need to have exactly the cash to pay on the bus.

Did not receive the king bed I reserved, instead the hotel gave us 2 queens stating they sold out the particular room I reserved. Double check when going as there was a festival outside on the lawn that you could hear inside room, until festival completed at night.

Beds comfy! Pillows slightly flat. Air unit from above blew right on us all night...not happy with this even after we adjusted the direction. Breakfast was ok...really just the watery flavorless eggs we were not a fan of and that they stop breakfast 9/930 on weekends. Most places stay open until 10. The plus was the coffee was good, strong, and very hot. (2 coffee shops just below the hotel available... one being a popular chain). Walk right outside for a great walk along the water, across from the Midway Museum, and across the cruise ship docks. Close to a lot of main attractions. Parking is pricey as expected but booking package deal with expedia was a score ...thanks, expedia ! Parking deck was easy to get in and out and felt safe! We switched to this hotel because it was one of the few that does not allow cats and dogs ...we did not want cat or dog dander. (Only service dogs allowed) Would definitely stay here again!!!!!

Went for a music festival and everything was so near and easily walkable. The breakfast and secure parking makes the price worth. For sure getting your moneys worth. And 10-20 min away from tourist areas. Went as couple but I think appropriate for family as well.

It was family friendly as we visited the zoo then went to our hotel. After, me and my husband went to their rooftop bar and lounge and it was amazing. The food and drinks were great and also the service. The vibe was chill for couple time or even family time. I really liked the area it was clean, safe, and peaceful. I would recommend 100%. Plus we got the corner room and it gave us a great view!

Beautiful property close to everything including the airport. We disembarked from our cruise ship at 8:30am and had only to walk across the street to the hotel. The staff called us an hour or so later saying we could get into our room. Awesome service!

Room was okay, but the comforter had a huge rip in it. The front desk guy was a bit off but we didn't have any troubles checking in. The waiter at the 5th floor bar was totally worthless. Brought us drinks, but no glass. Brought us food, but no utensils. Asked for a take-away box, but he never came back after we paid. Odd charges showing up now on my credit card for $20, $60, $10.01, and a few others.

Our room with 5 occupant's did not get cleaned for the 3 nights we were there. We had to get towels from the pool to shower with They charged us for parking when we said we did not have a car....they refunded the charge.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms were quiet and clean, and—perhaps my favorite part—the coffee was surprisingly good. It was nice not having to spend $4 a day at a local café just to get a decent cup. The breakfast buffet also exceeded expectations; my family really enjoyed it, which isn’t always the case with hotel breakfasts. We did have a couple of minor complaints: the room never quite cooled down enough, even with the mild weather outside, and the pool felt like an afterthought. It was small and there was no hot tub, which was a bit of a letdown. All in all, though, it was a solid stay and a great choice for families looking for comfort and convenience.

The staff here was amazing, helpful, and friendly. The location right across the street from the boardwalk and the Midway was great and convenient for walkers. It was easy to walk 15-20mins to the convention center, Gaslamp, and Petco. The views of the bay from the hotel room were also superb! The best of the hotels that I have stayed at in San Diego thus far, by far! I’ll be back next year July again!

No spa. Pool not heated. I gave the 3 stars based on the location and close proximity to the beach but k wouldn’t stay here again. There’s few amenities, nothing to keep kids busy. Breakfast buffet is free and included which is a plus - but there’s very limited options (basic continental, no mimosas etc). Overall - bleh!

Great location, great staff only complaint I have is carpet needs to be steam cleaned. Valet was very easy and quick to retrieve car. Front desk was always checking on us and so helpful. Breakfast was average at best but it’s other options within walking distance.

There is no reason to stay anywhere else, but Springhill Suites Sowntown San Diego. Hussein was extremely nice and check us in. He gave us so much insight on what the hotel had to offer. He was always pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is near everything!! It’s right across the street from USS midway, all boat tours, boardwalk. Seaport village, restaurants, bike rental, Gaslamp , souvenir shops, the trolley tour and local vendors. Loved the location!! Breakfast was delicious and it has a rooftop bar with views of the harbor. Cons: they clean the room every other day and parking is $45 a night. I love this hotel and will tell family and friends to stay here.

My husband, toddler and I stayed here for one night and we were very pleased with the room, they even had my little girl pick a small toy from their treasure chest which I thought was a very nice touch, the complimentary breakfast was great and we look forward to staying here again.

Staff was incredibly helpful and very friendly. The only thing I would change is the bathroom layout you do not have much privacy and you can hear everything that is going on in the bathroom…. Yikes.

However, if you’re a light sleeper be aware the airport is very close by and you’ll be aware of the constant drone of take offs if your room faces that direction. Also, house keeping is every 2 days here and we didn’t have a safe in our room which wasn’t great at all. Breakfast was average. On busy days, it was a complete riot with people pushing in and a lack of tables in the main area. There was also a lack of fresh fruit on offer but they did have waffle machines which my kids loved. A couple tweaks here and there and this hotel would have been brilliant especially with its downtown location. But 3 stars seems fair on our experience.

Property was beautiful! Staff was friendly and welcoming. We stayed on the top floor. Recieved complimentary waters, and assistance was offered to bring our luggage from the lobby to our room. Breakfast buffet was included and plentiful, with daily rotating options. Views from the lounge on floor 5 were amazing, perfect to sipping a drink and watching the water.

Front desk staff was very friendly and super helpful. My room was super clean and had great views! The pool was clean and had plenty of seating and clean towels available. Bar staff was supper friendly and very helpful as well. When it came to breakfast, they had lots of options which came in handy with my kids being picky eaters. Overall, I would definitely stay again when visiting San Diego.

I contacted Marriott about the stay and their response was pretty subpar. For the rate of this room, we should not have to deal with the condition of the floors.

The room was great love the view

Hussein greeted us very warmly when we checked in. Then we got into our room. There was wet toilet paper on the floor by the toilet and on the sofa. The blinds didn't shut all the way due to a design flaw so it was bright 24/7. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. We didn't sleep well and left very sore. The walls shook every time someone let a door close. The crack under the door was also too large and light in.

I thought the 5th floor estaurant was horrible. There really wasnt a kid menu and i sent back the plain cheesburger i ordered. They had it dipped in some strange tomato sauce, one bite and I thought i would be ill. If there was a decent restaurant at hotel we would have eaten dinner 4 or 5 nights of our stay

It could’ve been better if the shower is a little bit stronger because it will took you a little while because of the water flow of the shower. We booked the corner room with a bayview and it’s worth it, the view is amazing.

We stay at several Marriott properties throughout the year. I was disappointed with this concept would not stay at this one or any like it again.

Clean property

The bads- Do NOT get sucked into paying for a “ocean view”. Paid for that and stayed in room 615. Our view was the hotel across from us and the rooftop of the outdoor lounge area. If we walked all the way up to the glass and looked to our right we could see a slab of water. This is NOT and ocean view. The other bad is get ready for a chiropractor visit because the bed was EXTREMELY hard. It was like sleeping on a board. Love the hotel but the bed was the worst and the view was not what we paid for so very mixed review.

This is the first bad experience I have and I'm sure that expedia was not responsible, they did help me calling the hotel to find out if something was wrong and they got me an hour late check out which I didn't need. I understand that they were fully booked the days before. The check out is at 11 and I was there at 3 pm but called me at 5, do they really take 6 hours to clean a room? Also, I paid for the bay view but I got the partial bay view. I'm not coming back.

We had an amazing experience at this hotel during Mother's Day weekend with my kids in San Diego. The staff was warm, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Our room had a stunning harbor view, which made our mornings and evenings extra special. My kids especially loved the pool it was clean, well-maintained, and perfect for family fun. The amenities overall were excellent, and everything about our stay was comfortable and relaxing. We’ll definitely be returning on our next trip. Highly recommended!

Great stay! Convenient location to the farmers market, gaslamp district, little italy, shopping. Breakfast was great-plenty of options for everyone. The 1 downside is that there was a barking dog a few doors down from us.

Very Nice property, I would Highly recommend it! But We where there for 1 night in for a Family Funeral. But since We were already in California I tried to make something somber, to something upbuilding for the kids! Check in is at 3pm and check out at 11am. By 11:10 We Were locked out of out room keys! We where taking our luggage to parking lot, and I couldnt even enter the building to get the rest of my stuff and Family! I have Severe Anxiety and PTSD, which getting locked in elevator and Not being able to return to get my belongings and Family made it Very Stressful! The frontvdesk staff said that by 10-15 after the cards automatically lock you out. I told him ok I get it, but my check in was at 3pm and I didnt check in until 1:41 am that morning, more than 10 hrs. After check in, COULD YOU NOT GIVE ME 10-20 MIN. TO GET COMPLETELY OUT OF THE ROOM!!!! MY DAY WAS SHOT AFTER THAT, SO WITH MY ANXIETY OFF THE WALL BECAUAE OF GETTING LOCKED IN ELEVATOR, IT COMPLETELY MESSED UP WHAT I WAS TRYING TO GIVE MY FAMILY A VETTER TIME, BEING THAT THIS TRIP WAS TO LAY THEIR LATE AUNT DOWN TO REST!!! I BELIEVE WITH ALL TGE DRAMA THIS CAYSED WE SHOULD HAVE GOT THAT NIGHT COMPED!!!

It’s convenient walkable to little Italy. Didn’t like there breakfast selection thought everything tends to have too much spice my kids couldn’t handle that spice as off everyone east spice. Statues there 4 days out of the 4 day one served bacon once. The selection for breakfast was not good. Very few waffle machines long lines.

Nice clean hotel. Very convenient location. Walkable to Midway and the seaport village. Front desk stuff are friendly.
