Reviews
The hotel has a great location in Little Italy with plenty of food options and close proximity to the airport, but the rooms and amenities are subpar. The staff is generally attentive but not very warm, and there are frequent issues with cleanliness and maintenance.

I traveled to San Diego for a conference, but did not want to stay in a conference hotel. Porto Vista is a lovely local hotel, not fancy, perfectly situated in little Italy near all of the best restaurants. I really enjoyed my stay.
- 5/5
This is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed at… perfect location in Little Italy where all the fun is..came with a regular size fridge, large microwave, and electric stove.. super quiet beautiful rooms..

Awesome location in little italy! Close to lots of restaurants and easy access to the u line and buses. Rooms are a little noisy but it was fine.

Dirty as well. Restaurant isn’t open until weekend. No microwave anywhere on site . Woke up to garbage men clanking around at 730 am for 10 min. I had a horrible stay.

None We saw a big cockroach. The door to the bathroom jams, the bed is squeaky. It is more like a motel than a hotel. The valet is so expensive.’ The soap dispensers are rusty. The bathroom when I shower, does not drain properly, it is so gross that water backs up. The room, the “hotel” itself isnt how it looks like in the picture when I was looking for hotels to stay.
- 5/5
This hotel was conveniently located to many eateries as well as the waterfront. The staff was accommodating and helpful.
- 5/5
Great location, clean hotel, staffing and everyone at front desk was supwr friendly. Easy valet parking… would stay again and recommend.
- 2/5
Rooms are dirty. Location is the only upside.
- 1.5/5
The location was convenient for me The shampoo and body wash dispensers were empty in the shower and quite rusty. There were very bright lights in the middle of the building so at night the room was lit up despite having black out curtains. The AC did not work and the room was warm even though I set it to 69 degrees. The room was very small and the bed and pillows were not confortable at all.

- 3/5
The hotel is centrally located in Little Italy and the property is very clean, but the restaurant never seemed open, the curtains don't provide sufficient blocking of the sun, and the hotel is essentially a nicer motel with exterior doors. The beds are clean, though the mattresses are extremely hard and uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Great spot, close access to Little Italy. Would be better if they incorporated parking into price as they only offer valet parking.
- 2/5
The noise level was unbelievable. The room next to mine had a party raging until at least 3am. The music was deafening and people were shouting and screaming. Two guys almost got into a fight literally outside of my door. Oh, and they were smoking too, which I could smell from my room. I called the front desk multiple times but received no response. I cannot imagine how bad it would have been for a family with young kids. Also, my room was in great need of updating and pillows were terrible. I would NEVER stay there again.
- 2/5
No coffee or water in the room. No one came to clean the room. And they gave no clear instructions before on how to contact them for our room clean up. No robes in bathroom. The parking was very expensive and I wish they would advertise this before booking.
- 5/5
Amazing location, very comfortable bed and pillows (plus they give you 2 pillows on each side which is rare nowadays), smart TV

The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay, especially the bartender at GlassDoor Restaurant & Bar, who was entertaining and an excellent mixologist. Another major plus is that the hotel is dog friendly and very accommodating, which I really appreciated. Parking at the hotel is expensive, so I opted to park nearby instead. Overall, a fun and convenient stay in a great neighborhood. I will definitely be back!

This hotel has outdooor rooftop movie screen! Super cute! Staff is friendly! Elevators are slow and take forever. This hotel is half inside half outside. Our toilet didn’t flush correctly until we took off top and manually held it.

Location was great
- 4/5
The staff was excellent. From the time we arrived to the time we left the valet attendants and staff were knowledgeable, friendly and fast. My vehicle was easily accessible to me but safe from any dangers. The front desk staff was even friendlier! They were quick and I was in my room in under 5 minutes. The best part of my stay was the shower. The water was always hot, like a really good hot and the pressure was better than my house pressure. I loved the shower. I could have stayed in it all day if it weren’t for the fact that I was there on vacation with my family! I didn’t like the fact that there was not any free bottles of water for guests. The price for incidentals is high. I would have expected more from that. There was a restaurant, however if I’m paying $100 a night for incidentals and I don’t have access to anything like bottled water. Why am I paying $100 a night. That was very upsetting.

This hotel has everything for a vacation stay all at the hotel. Pool restaurant bar and a rooftop cinema. Also walking distance from the harbor.
- 1/5
The staff were reasonably helpful. Location was in Little Italy which was nice. No coffee machine in the room. No guest laundry and the only laundromat 12 blocks away. No airport shuttle. No phone in the room - therefore no wakeup calls. Breakfast not included. Restaurant hours quite irregular. Basically, most of the services that you would expect to find in a mid-range hotel were absent.

We were looking for a place to stay not far from the airport. I really liked the look and feel of the place, being in Little Italy. We arrived and quickly settled in on the top floor and loved the outdoor seating and views of the city and harbor. Pleasantly surprised with the on site Glass Door restaurant / bar for dinner and breakfast as well.
- 5/5
Stayed here for my birthday weekend. It’s such a perfect location, right in the middle of everything San Diego. The staff were all so friendly, especially the bartender! The only downside was the parking is insane. Drove around for 20 minutes before giving up and parking a few blocks away. They offer valet, but no guaranteed self parking spots. Will definitely be back if I ever find myself looking for another weekend away.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean and only supplied for 2 people even though 4 on our reservation. Front desk staff was helpful, thank you to the gentleman with all of the recommendations. The pool was warm and wonderful but lacked anything special.

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights. Great location in Little Italy. Walking distance to Waterfront Park and Seaport Village. Great plane-spotting from the roof. Fruit infused water in the lobby. Fast elevator. Comfortable beds. Full-body mirror which is a plus in my book! A little dated in the rooms but nothing off-putting.

I survived the night without major incident.

The room was clean & good. The staff were very accommodating. I had a great time. My issue is the lack of help. I didn’t realize I had to pay $55 for hotel guest parking. Then I had to bring all 3 bags up with the rolling cart myself. Yes there are elevators.

Old plumbing and very loud. Heard the neighbors toilet tank fillin up every time they flushed the toilet which was often late at night. Parking is very high at this place.

Tv did not work. Outlets in the bathroom didn’t work. The text message system no one answered it so we had to go to the front desk for clean towels.

Here are some great things. It was super close to little Italy. Staff was amazing. We felt safe. It was renovated and garage area was older. The curtains made the room smell musty. Overall it was what we paid for. So we are not complaining cause the price was right for us.
- 3/5
Other issues: There is no phone in the room. There is no coffee maker. There's not even a paper that gives you any hotel info. The TV is just a couple of streaming apps that sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. The outlets in the bathroom didn't work and the AC unit is super loud. Good luck getting any sleep. As tourists, the location was good though. We could walk to a lot of places and the area is pretty uppity so it felt safe. Maybe that's the tradeoff with this place. The photos are deceptive when it comes to the rooms though.
- 3/5
so flew in for one night to see a show, almost missed it completely when the valet forgot to leave the key (fob) in the rental car, needed to have a locksmith get in to only realize that this is what happened. then took cab back to hotel and inquired about my key. showed the valet my ticket, he shows me the key. I tell him what happened, 3 times...still won't give me my rental key, then he disappears for another 5 minutes...at this point the show has started and he's giving me grief when the Valets were the reason I got to show that I shelled out a few thiusand for just to be an hour into it....

It is located in little Italy and lots of great restaurants
- 1/5
Bad service and very unpleasant
- 5/5
The staff was courteous and went out of the way to make our stay top-notch. We had a small issue which we waited until late to notify the front desk. No problem! There was a maintenance worker on duty who quickly resolved the issue.

Breakfast was good

Love this place view is amazing and the theater on the 5th floor to fun!!!
- 4/5
Great location, clean rooms, very welcoming staff. The room was a good size bathroom was large but very low ceiling at 6'5 I was almost touching the fan. The flooring was cracked and lifting up by the bathroom.
- 5/5
A fun hotel in the thick of Little Italy, so no shortage of venues within a short walk. Room very comfortable and well furnished. A wonderful restaurant and bar that looks out over the harbor is a plus. There were rooftop movies at night. Just a fun place and a quiet and restful room in a great part of town. This our second visit and we'll be back,

Staff was awesome and very responsive. Great location.
- 5/5
Good in general
- 4/5
Really interesting set up. Great location. Swanky bar. Great views.
- 2/5
Valet parking is useless. Rooms are basic and bed sheets are pretty cheap. The area of the hotel inside isnt pretty either looks like rundown apartments.
- 3/5
The staff was great, very friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. Didn’t necessarily like the outside style rooms.
- 0.5/5
I check in and when I saw the room , I couldn’t stay there. It did not look like the pictures I saw online. It has never been updated and did not feel clean. I left and went to another hotel in the same area. Didn’t like the hotel and left.
- 3/5
kinda bummed that i had to pay for parking and that was not included
- 2.5/5
What did find pleasant was the staff they were nice and attentive. Keep up the great work ?.
- 4/5
Staff were very helpful and pleasant. We were hoping for more in the pool department, junda small. Great rooftop cinema! Rooms were clean and well kept.
- 3.5/5
Location was great! So close to the Saturday Market, the heart of Little Italy and the harbour. The Rooftop outdoor spaces with views were also a plus. Good coffee and food in restaurant. All staff were friendly and helpful. Room was spacious with ample space to put our things. I didn't realise from the photos that it was a motel-style place-though a bit more secure. You had to go out of your room to the restaurant to get your coffee in the morning. No standard USB ports. Flights started at 6am on Monday...too loud and frequent to sleep through. No mirrors in the main room, only bathroom. Security started knocking on doors at 4am one morning. Great to know there was security taking care of business, but a bit unnerving and difficult to go back to sleep. Price of parking!! Canceled our rental car because of the $55/day parking fee.
- 5/5
The pillows were not comfortable
- 2/5
Property was fine. Room was smaller than the photos showed (no room for a chair like shown in premium room). Remodeled but bare bones. A shelf in the shower would have been helpful to set things on like our shampoo, razors, etc. Nice sitting area on rooftop. Pool smaller than it looks, like a broken hot tub they call a pool. Beds not comfortable. AC next to bed so it blasts on the person laying near it. Like i said, overall fine for what we paid. The issue though, is that i prepaid through expedia and the hotel placed 2 charges on my card that I had to provide at check in. These charges were not authorized, nor did they ever send me a receipt for them. Ive reached out multiple times with no response. I have no idea why they would have charged me am additional $1100 on top of what i paid already. Beware and check your CC statements.
- 5/5
Everything was great, the bathroom having a glass door made for awkward pooping amongst friends.
- 3/5
They have so many hidden fees…. I paid through Expedia and then they still added hotel fees which they did mention. But they have valet parking 55$ a night and I stayed two nights and somehow in fees for parking costed me an extra 20$ ?
- 5/5
The staff were courteous and professional. I would stay again because both Jason and Erwin ( front desk concierges were extremely polite and helpful. Thank you ! I think it can use renovations. The rooms can be refurbished. The lobby was quaint and lovely.
- 3/5
There was no water pressure, so I wouldn't recommend for a long trip, but the location was amazing! Easily accessible to all areas of the gaslamp and in Little Italy. We also had trouble with our A/C but for us, location was key.
- 4/5
The location was great but the property itself was very old and more like a motel than a hotel
- 4/5
Convenient location.
- 4/5
Lobby, restaurant, Market and outside cinema was okay. I liked that the Hotel i close to Little Italy. Rooms were not as I expected though. It look like Motel rooms. Plus the pool was super tiny. I dont think we would.stay here again.

- 0.5/5
The location was good. Well for starters I got there at 3am and the room upstairs was jumping and woke me and my family multiple times. Then at 7am construction workers got to the hotel and woke up us again. The next day I requested the room to be clean and nothing and when it was time to sleep there was a party upstairs. The staff does not do anything. Never going back to that hotel.
- 3/5
Good location. Restaurant decent. Room dark & dingy. No coffee makers and "wet bar" consisted of empty dorm room style refrig.

Property staff tried to bill me twice. Mngr was Rude as hell. Tried to hold my truck keys for payment. Unprofessional, lacks customer service skills . Best part was smoke shop/mini store on Property
- 4/5
Staff were friendly and accommodating. Property is under renos.
- 4/5
The room was clean and the windows faced a side street. The bed was firm and comfortable. The hand soap and shampoo dispensers definitely needed to be replaced, so we did not use them at all. Housekeeping was only on request, and parking is Valet only and now costs $55/night for regular cars/ $65 for mid-size and $110 for large SUVs. There isn't any street parking unless by permit, is 2 hour max during the day, with no overnight parking without permits.
- 3/5
The room needed quite a few improvements and didn’t meet our expectations. The staff was okay overall, but our experience at checkout wasn’t great. We requested a late checkout and were only granted an extra hour. At 12:05, an employee knocked on our door with an attitude and told us we needed to leave immediately before being charged, which felt unnecessary given we had just been given the extension. When we went to the front desk to check out, the employee didn’t ask how our stay was or if everything was okay—just asked for our room number and that was it. The interaction felt rushed and not very welcoming.

Hotel was crowded with construction. It was very hard to find ice since we were on the 4th floor and we had to go all the way to the first floor for ice and water. The water fountain on the first floor wasn’t very convenient for water bottles to refill. We noticed there wasn’t a phone in our room either which was kinda weird. Other than all that, it was an okay stay.

Our rooms a/c was not working correctly. They were doing construction and had my allergies flaring up. I thought I was getting sick. It was hot and humid. I had my mother stay in a different and had the same problem. The valet guy started helping me with my bags and I genuinely needed assistance unloading my truck. I had a toddler with me. His supervisor told him to start helping someone else. Room service never came to clean my room.

The water pressure is very low, the toilet takes 2 flushes each time, and the fire alarm went off in the morning and no offer of compensation or credit for the inconvenience.

The hotel has a fun beach theme. It feels like a glorified motel, particularly because each room opens onto an outside hallway. It’s more funky than fabulous. For the price and location, the hotel was a great choice for my one night. If I were staying in town longer I would look for a nicer place.

One room was flooded. Food is good at their restaurant but super slow. The night bartender very cool and good customer service. But the white guy in the morning very cold, missing alot of options from menu. No kids menu. And customer not great. We still game 20% tip plus on table tip. Remember PARKING is $55-85 a night.... AND THE WORST EXPERIENCE was sleeping i hr out of the WHOLE NIGHT, BECAUSE ECHOO ON THE FLOORING IS BAD, PEOPLE SCREAMING AT 1AM, 2AM, 3AM, 4AM, & 5 AM... NEVER AGAIN... THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THAT LITTLE ITALY IS LIKE E MIN AWAY, AND LOTS OF RESTAURANTS.

David aka D in the glassdoor bar was awesome.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean .the doors need more soundproofing but it was still okay. Staff was very nice. Restaurant was clean and staff was nice . Breakfast was $$ but very good.we didnt use parking but it was right there. We walked everywhere and very convenient. Thank you again for a nice stay !
- 4/5
Close to airport and highway. My room (505) was facing the highhway, so in a noisy environment, but keeping the bathroom fan on overnight drowned the noise and made it ok.
- 4/5
Nice stay, staff excellent, friendly, helpful and great customer service. Hotel ok older
- 5/5
The staff were very attentive and pleasant! The facilities were as expected. A bit noisy with the airplanes but we knew that when we booked. We did really like how Little Italy was literally a block over. Wd didn't realize how close it was. We were there for 1 night and worked for what we needed. I would recommend for convenience and location.
- 5/5
Everyone was super nice and it was a great area!
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly, rooms were clean a little small but overall it was a great stay ,they have valet parking and i thought it was a little pricey 55 dlls but other than that i would stay again !!!
- 3/5
Staff could not have been nicer. Rooms feel cheap. Pump soap and shampoo dispensers are completely rusted out. Elevator was sketchy.
- 3/5
It’s like a giant motel, employees are very nice, but like I said, it’s basically a motel so it’s okay, good enough for one night!
- 3/5
Sleep ok, but for the price… Lind of a dump.
- 5/5
Stay here frequently. Love this place. Great location, wonderful staff, nice rooms.
- 4/5
Ok
- 4/5
NO breakfast
- 4/5
The hotel staff were exceptionally courteous. I appreciated the location. The rooms were uncomplicated, but they were comfortable. We will use this hotel again.
- 5/5
No parking , without pay it, this is the only down rate. We actually parked few blocks away where parking was free, but only fr the werkend, and we feared for the safety of the car.
- 5/5
Definitivamente volvería a este lugar .
- 5/5
The room was clean, the coffe pads were nice, as well as the make up removal tissues, staff was attentive, and recomended a very nice pizza place.
- 2/5
Valet only but understandable for the area, but once we walked in the room it smelled like mold and was very humid. Opened up windows and aired put and was better. Floor seems as if its never been mopped. Walked to bathroom and washed feet before putting shoes on and tons of dirt comes off. You can hear evefything in the thin walls its like a slighly upgraded motel. Wishing i spent an extra $50 a night to get a better hotel.
- 5/5
Los servicios , el personal muy amable y la ubicación es perfecta
- 5/5
Super great place, price and cleanliness.
- 4/5
Rooms were ok, dated and old. Eveything is above the parking garage
- 1/5
Room smelled like piss and someone banged on our door in the middle of the night. Felt unsafe in this hotel
- 5/5

..
- 5/5
The faucets were loose in the room.
- 2/5
Very outdated. Went to the glass door restaurant and was the only table there and took an hour for my SALAD. Went to shower and had the nozzle all the way on H and barely lukewarm water was coming out.
- 2/5
😷
- 4/5
Very kind personal
- 4/5
But, I guess that would ruin the bait and switch aspect of their pricing.
- 3/5
Property was nice however they charged me $55 for valet but did not actually have real valet. I had to load my own bags and bring the cart up then load my car. Then when I went to pick up my car they asked if we wanted them to get it or us go walk and find it. What’s the point of valet if I have to go get my own car. I had even tipped $10 for valet and then they charged me $55 on top of that. Ridiculous.
- 1/5
The bathroom was dirty, looked like there was old vomiting the wall. Staff was so loud in the morning banging on the walls. I chose checkout at 12pm but two separate staff members knocked on my door two separate time before 11am to see if I was checking out. I’ll never stay there again.
- 2/5
The room was very dark and dingy. Ice machine was broken and in a very dark corner. Staff was good, helpful.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
I was kind of disappointed the refrigerator did not really work, the blow dryer almost caught fire, HVAC mini split did not function properly. The water did not drain properly there's little more stuff but damn i been going since covid and its not getting renovated like it should. Any who yeah it was blah this past weekend
- 4/5
Valet parking was easy and fast but expensive at $55 the breakfast vouchers that we received because we were checked into the wrong room initially provided only a limited breakfast of eggs toast potatoes and a meat choice. The Rooftop Bar was great the service was good and the rooms were okay also.
- 5/5
Close to Little Italy in San Diego, Easy walk to restaurants and shops
- 4/5
Hotel was nice but hate paying for parking but....it is what it is.
- 1/5
Parking was way too expensive $55 a night. Our room had no air conditioning and their c/c machine weren’t working. Front desk was very rude, trying to blame us (our bank) for the problem when we tried to use 7 different credit cards (5 different banks)
- 4/5
No parking
- 4/5
Overall very good, except for slow lobby elevator and slow drain in bathtub.
- 5/5
Clean room very spacious and friendly staff.
- 5/5
The room was real clean.
- 1/5
The location is ideal in downtown and Little Italy. Plenty of cute shops and restaurants nearby, walking distance. The bar and restaurant upstairs is actually really good and offered an amazing sunset high rise view. Drinks were good, food mediocre. Good happy hour price. Now the place is run down. The pictures either showcase what’s good or out of date. Although comfortable and great working AC, the room is pretty sad in its condition, reflective of most of the complex. The toilet in my room didn’t work. And when I attempted to report it, they never fixed it. I went my entire stay without a working toilet, (one night). When checking out I addressed with Front Desk about my toilet. No apology, no offer to refund or credit. Just proceeded to look through a phone text exchange, only to find out that the wrong room was inspected, not mine. “That’s why it didn’t get fixed”. Ok that’s great, but doesn’t resolve my concern. Well, I mostly likely will not stay here again unless this place completely goes through an overhaul. Not worth the price per night.
- 3/5
Parking is by valet only and very expensive. Rooms have outdoor entry, which I did not notice from the photos. While the room was redone and very clean, I would have liked that to be more obvious from the photos. It's a safe neighborhood, but the corridors are quite dark at night.
- 5/5
Very warm and Cozy room
- 3/5
It was a nice hotel the room was just very small. It was nice cause it was near little Italy. But the parking was incredibly expensive. We paid $110 for 2 days. Also we booked this hotel for the pool and when we saw the pool it was so small. Definitely disappointed.
- 3/5
The room was ok. The shower didn’t have body soap in the containers. I asked the front desk to get house keeping to fill it and they said right away. I was there three day and it wa never filled. The containers had rust all over them. The bathroom sink was barely attached.
- 5/5
Great little spot. Will visit again. Only negative is how slow their elevator is, especially since they only have 1 in the lobby. They do have a second one if you’re not on the top floor.
- 2/5
The hotel didn’t really look like how it was in the pictures, I expected way more bc that’s how the pictures made it seem. I felt like I was in a motel but at least the staff was nice.
- 3/5
Rust on shower amenities staff friendly yes there were shops and lots of restaurants didn’t see or was I told about did see when I booked advertisement was a little misleading
- 5/5
Great view from the room. Comfortable bed. Great patio at the bar
- 3/5
Thin walls, not very clean, hard bed
- 5/5
Great place to stay, with awesome staff (very helpful friendly and knowledgable
- 5/5
Great! Clean room! Amazing pool
- 2/5
Once into my room, I discovered bugs underneath some of the pillows and around the bed. I had no clue what they were; they insisted they were gnats. We were then told that the 5th floor had “termites”; after googling, I’m confident that “king termites” are what we saw. After 2 room changes, I was in a room free of pests. They accommodated us by offering breakfast & free drinks at the attached restaurant. I never got my receipt & wasted money on the early check in because I had to keep changing rooms.
- 3/5
The property was beautiful. Unfortunately, I couldn’t give this hotel five stars since the refrigerator made a really really loud noise that made it hard to rest.
- 4/5
All good nice place and close to walk to places to shop and eat
- 5/5
For me the place was perfect. I found street parking which was free from 7pm to 11 am and the street was quiet just behind the busy walk of fame. MEL'S DINER was 60 meters away. - Charles Rahim
- 2/5
Parking is difficult to find, specially during events
- 3/5
Friendly staff and pretty decent place. Unfortunately the structure of the building is not very soundproof so you hear everybody walking around.
- 1/5
Elevators: Incredibly slow, unreliable, and hardly functional. You’ll spend more time waiting than actually moving between floors. Rooms & Facilities: Our room had plumbing issues with visible leaks. The property itself is run down, with rust stains on the floor and paper-thin walls that make restful sleep impossible. Service & Treatment: Right after arriving, we were absurdly accused of a noise complaint — even though we had literally just gone out for dinner and returned. When we asked to move out of the leaky room, the back-and-forth was exhausting. We were finally told we could check out late at 3pm, only to be kicked out at the regular 11am checkout time anyway. Overall Management: It’s clear the staff are overwhelmed, dealing with constant issues created by greedy ownership that invests nothing into upkeep or customer care. Final Verdict: Don’t let the nice location fool you. This hotel is a run-down property with unreliable amenities, dismissive management, and zero respect for guests. Save yourself the frustration and book literally anywhere else.
- 3/5
Hotel check in was ok i was met with unexpected parking fees to tbe tune of $55 per night of my stay and a $250 deposit. Once in the room we found the room to be very clean but uneven floors and broken drawers were a bit un expected. No live tv available only netflix, hulu and prime tv but had to use our own log ins. Elevator was spotty at best. Friendly courteous staff but sub par facility. Also the pictures of the propert are not an accurate description of the property. The pool will hold about 4 adults and the restaurant does not serve food as described.
- 3/5
The 250.00 deposit is not mentioned on Hotels. Com
- 2/5
front desk staff was fantastic and very helpful, but the hotel itself was in terrible condition. our room stunk of raw sewage, and we were able to be temporarily moved to another, but upon turning the shower on the same smell appeared and the shower drain was clogged. the layout of the hotel was very deceptive, it has a beautiful front lobby, but once you go to the rooms it turns into a motel 6. the walls are paper thin and all rooms face inward to a parking garage. very odd hotel to say the least.
- 3/5
Clean and tidy modern hotel near beach. Cool 4th floor dinig overlooking bay and city. Pool and easy access. Upgrades in rooms. Nice walk in shower. CONS: Easy to hear loud people in hall. Fridge was super noisy. Need better windows and outside doors. Expensive to park all night. High incidental charge.
- 1/5
Go here.
- 3/5
Room shower clogged, deposit take outrageous. Elevator took days
- 1/5
This place went to hell and is now dated and dirty. The front desk people are nice but they’re a crew in charge of a sinking ship
- 5/5
Very nice boutique hotel. Staff was friendly the hotel was clean, bar was open late enough to grab a drink after the game and it’s 1 block up from the Little Italy strip with tons of restaurants and places to grab a drink. We walked to Petco park, it’s a pretty decent distance maybe 20-25 min walk, but doable to avoid paying an outrageous price for parking near the stadium.
- 4/5
Everything was so close
- 4/5
ok property
- 3/5
The hotel of many updates, such as paint, light fixtures (crooked ), general cleanliness. The room furniture has been updated in the last few years but the rooms also need some attention. The air conditioner in room 457 was horribly noisy and made odds sounds that woke us. The mattress desperately needs an update.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice, and staff was friendly. The air condition in our room didn't work and that was the only down fall.
- 1/5
Next to a warehouse or something that is consistently operating a forklift all you hear is beeping all day.
- 2/5
Staff was rude, very unwelcoming. Room was musty, and there was rust in the bathroom.
- 2/5
To old they need to renovation
- 5/5
Amazing stay!
- 2/5
Is look nice in picture but is not good place
- 5/5
Great location! We would definitely stay again! We love staying in the Little Italy area and this location was perfect. Room was clean and service was great.
- 4/5
Definitely a diamond in the rough. The staff were great.
- 4/5
Hardest part was picking where and what to eat. My trip was a quick layover, got my hotel to kick feet up, possibly meet up with a friend and not stay in the airport. Id stay here again due to being DT, dinning and possibly a good night life.
- 4/5
Good. Not great but good for the price. Great location.
- 2/5
No free parking, should list the parking price immediately in the advertisement. The room had a leaking shower head, the floor was dirty, the sheets were stained, and the towels were not clean. This hotel is overpriced and was like a motel
- 5/5
Great staff & great location!
- 3/5
The property seemed dated, the room was very small and the window faced a wall.
- 2/5
Staff were all friendly & helpful. The hotel was just blah … lacks cleanliness and comfort. Budget friendly compared to others in area, so if you’re just looking for a place to park & sleep it does the job. If you need anything more than that book elsewhere.
- 3/5
When we arrived after a 8 hour drive with our kids we were told that the room that was sold to us on here was not actually available. Thankfully the staff felt bad and accommodated us with a room they weren’t using but they didn’t have a room key for us and the lights didn’t work.
- 5/5
Walked in around 1:30 pm and was checked in immediately. Didn’t have to wait until 3pm check in. Leann helped us out and was very nice. She said they had a $20 offer to upgrade from a queen to a king with balcony so we jumped on the offer. The room was lovely. Nice and clean. Looks very updated. Balcony overlooked the ocean. Came with mini fridge, sink, and a microwave. The restaurant is awesome. Over looks the ocean as well! 10/10 recommend! We will definitely be staying here again! They even held our bags for us while we explored and waited for our train ride back. Amazing service. Nice updated hotel! Thanks again!
- 4/5
After my shower, feet are black from walking around for one minute. Floors are horribly dirty. Bathroom sliding door kept coming off the rail, had to repeatedly fix. Fiancé was trapped in bathroom at one point until I fixed the door, again. Breakfast was disappointing on several levels. Server was not welcoming at all. The food preparation was not good, small portions and not made per request. The layout of the suite is odd. Can’t sit to watch tv but in single chair, nor from bed. Shelf in bathroom is flaking apart, soap and shampoo dispensers are rusted, corroded and dirty looking. There was one single wash cloth. The front desk was exceptionally polite and expedient. The valet is timely and polite.
- 3/5
That was hard and towels were very thin & basic
- 5/5
My go to spot when im in SD. In the heart of Little Italy and surrounded by everything. Staff is always great and tend to get upgraded. Love this place
- 3/5
.
- 3/5
Close to little italy
- 3/5
Decent for the price we paid - we needed a place to crash for 2 nights
- 3/5
My son and I stayed here during comic con. It was nice that it was in Little Italy, but it could use a lot of work. The rooms were drab, they could use a fresh coat of paint and an updated air conditioning unit. We did feel very safe at night and it was quiet. But it’s a no frills, just sleep there, kind of hotel. Grateful that we took Amtrak and didn’t drive, because parking was $55/night. Unreal.
- 1/5
The room was really outdated and not kept up with, the ice machine didn’t work on the floor, water pressure was an issue as well as other issues. Bed was super squeaky room upkeep is dirty, air conditioning in the room does not work as it should. The images online are kind of altered their pool is only a 3 foot one that can not be swam in
- 3/5
Booked here last minute, stay was just okay. Location is great walking distance to great restaurants and shops, but there’s a lot of noise from other guests, airplanes, and the air conditioning. The beds were extremely hard as were the pillows. The room itself was pretty spacious, didn’t feel cramped, appropriately appointed.
- 1/5
Horrible service and staff
- 3/5
Interesting
- 3/5
Good location
- 5/5
Good
- 2/5
Room is old and dated. Hotel lobby is deceiving. Makes u think the rooms will be just as nice as the libby
- 3/5
Convenient to Little Italy and walking distance to Embarcadero. Rooms were dated and bedding sub-par. Restaurant/bar was just ok. But overall, decent value.
- 4/5
And the safety deposit is to high .
- 1/5
They didn’t have any key cards so we had to be walked to our hotel. They told us the wrong check out time and yelled at us and when we came home for the night we had 40 minutes to get into our room since they didn’t have an key cards
- 1/5
There was a $55 overnight parking. One of the laps in the room didn’t work. The walls were paper thin you can hear everything in the room. At night and morning there was so much noise that you can hear people walking and opening doors and walking upstairs. The worst part the plumbing was awful the water was coming out of the shower and they had to snake it in the morning. By far the worst hotel I’ve ever stay at.
- 4/5
Walkable to Little Italy and downtown piers.
- 3/5
Good
- 4/5
Decent quality and cleam
- 4/5
Great location. Walking distance to Little Italy and the bay.
- 4/5
Pool is a long Jacuzzi, check in personnel was just there - asked about restaurants near and all he said was there are a few. Room smelled humid and damped, room.was dark
- 4/5
The floors were dirty the home decor in room were also dirty the curtains in room was dirty the room smelled bad like dirty clothes and dust the bed was very squeaky over all need to clean better and sanitize the place and needs major upgrades! Also you guys take a $250. Hold even tho the room is payed for up front and charge $55. For parking daily these fees are like robberies you should mention this on your ads and be transparent about the fees!
- 2/5
good location
- 3/5
It was okay.
- 4/5
Location is the reason to stay. Very old facilities. Cable TV iffy at best. Room was clean. No microwave.
- 3/5
The front lobby staff was very nice and accommodating. One star for the service at Glassdoor Restaurant. After waiting an hour, we found out they had lost our order, then waited another hour only to receive cold food — and one of the dishes was wrong. The server was completely incompetent, though the bartender was very kind and helpful.
- 3/5
This property is mediocre. It’s in a great location but I wouldn’t consider it a boutique. The rooms were dark and smelly and it was not very sound proof. It was walkable to a lot of great spots in little Italy and convenient for the market. Our tv remote didn’t work, toilet seat was loose, lacked normal amenities at your standard hotel. We were only there for one night and it was acceptable for that. Not a great “vacation” spot. There is only one elevator so it takes forever. One of our rooms had a nasty sewer gas smell and the fan in the bathroom didn’t work to help. This is definitely a motel not a boutique.
- 3/5
Some staff is rude and unprofessional
- 5/5
Everyone was very welcoming
- 3/5
Na
- 3/5
Walkable places close by
- 4/5
The location was great as you could walk over to little Italy and other close by shops and convenience stores. I just didn’t like the rusty bathroom toiletries or soap dispenser. Shower also felt very “motel 6”. It was an okay place for the 2 nights I was there.
- 4/5
And excellent staff
- 3/5
Could have been better. Never got maid service for the duration of my stay after a couple of requests to the front desk. Many of the common areas were closed off and locked. Wi-Fi bounced between spotty and unusable. The room could have definitely used an update to the fixtures and decor.
- 5/5
Location location location
- 3/5
Good location. Beds and linens need upgrading.
- 5/5
Right in the middle of Little Italy . Tins to do around this neighbor hood. No need for a car. Great clean accommodating hotel.
- 5/5
Lots of things to do near by
- 3/5
Room was ok, had all the amenities but the room’s floor was dusty, the toilet paper dispenser was falling off, the floor by the restroom was broken and had sharp edges ( very unsafe)
- 5/5
we love porto vista, solid price and it’s in a great area.
- 4/5
I booked the hotel before seeing the reviews, all I could say is that the reviews are a little too dramatic, the only complaint I have is the water for showers, the cold is hot and the hot is cold, hopefully that makes sense lol, also the tv didn’t work that well, and parking was a bit difficult but we managed to find outside parking. But overall the rooms were clean, staff were nice, and if ur seeing the reviews after booking and are a little scared like I was, don’t worry, its actually a good hotel :)
- 3/5
hotel is decent , the walking distance to the restaurants and bars was the best. elevator is TERRIBLE. it takes so long to open up, most of the time we had to use the stairs because we would wait a long time for it.
- 3/5
The bed was a 3 star. The receptionist was friendly and efficient. The valet was very inefficient since there was only one valet attendant. The mandatory $55 fee is too much for this hotel.
- 3/5
- Bed Squeaks A LOT, parking in hotel is not included you have to pay for it.
- 1/5
It was trash little hot water low water pressure and it looked like someone tried to break into the room before the room was super hot
- 4/5
I had difficulty obtaining a few extra hangers (I had made four requests), but fortunately, Kiki came to the rescue and brought me extra hangers in less than a minute!
- 3/5
Average experience overall
- 5/5
The lady at the front desk was phenomenal. Someone complained about a smoking fee and she handled it with grace and professionalism. I wish I remembered her name. If she is not already, she should be management.
- 3/5
I liked the location. The room AC didn’t work well, it is very old rooms with musty mildew smell. Rust on all the shampoo and soap dispensers. Needs upgrades.
- 1/5
Disappointed
- 3/5
Shower had a leak, fridge was so loud we had to unplug it. Staff was nice.
- 3/5
While the hotel, in general, was average, the location made up for it. Right in the heart of little Italy with endless dining and shopping options.
- 1/5
Most of the inside was dirty stained or broken
