Not maintained properly. shower issues, bathroom issues. cleaning staff nock the door all the time since morning.

This place is a cheap way to get the job done. Free parking and in great location to everything, it’s a good value in a city where everything costs a billion dollars. I had 3 comfortable nights’ sleep and no issues here whatsoever

Plenty of Parking, clean room and friendly and helpful staffs. I left my phone charger and cord in the room when I checked out. Called staff for help, Jesus in day shift was very helpful to look and check then called back the next day to tell me the process of his facility handling lost and found. Really appreciate his help. Jason was friendly helpful and welcoming when we checked in and checked out.

I was surprised at how clean and nice the room was. The guy who checked me in was super friendly and made the process easy. I also liked that there was a lot of restaurants that we’re walking distance.

great place, great location, kind staff. very reasonably priced. AC works super well, room has hair dryer, iron, ironing board, fridge (w freezer), a reach-in closet, and a great shower.

Nice property and the office staff was nice and helpful. Room was clean and liked that it was not noisy there. The only downside was our tv did not work properly. Lots of restaurants nearby and easy access to highways.

A definitely VERY PLEASANT place to stay! Close to the airport, freeways, nearby attractions such as Balboa Park, Liberty Station & beaches. Restaurants are just walking distance, with even a vegetarian one. Nice! Because I’m vegetarian. Clean & spacious room. Excellent, friendly & helpful staff. That’s how I found out about the vegetarian restaurant. Also, I guess all things have their lifespan. Both the iron & coffee/tea maker died during my stay. The gentleman at the lobby gave me brand new ones! Customer service is the MOST important aspect for me if I return again. Yes, I will come here again if I’m in San Diego area. Highly recommend this inn! Check it out!

We didn’t even stay the night. My daughter sat on the bed, ended up with bug bites on her arm. We immediately told the office that we were leaving. They would only refund one night. Do not recommend this hotel the front office manager was horribly rude.

The room was very clean and staff was friendly. There was a very strong smell of cleaning solution in the room. This could be a problem for anyone with respiratory sensitivities. Parking was very tight.

The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was very comfortable. Don't let the looks of the outside sway you as it is pretty dated but the cleanliness of the room compensates for that and I was quite pleased during my four night stay. There are a few restaurants walking distance from the inn. The STP Bar & Grill across the street is pretty good. They do not offer any kind of breakfast and there is no pool. Your neighbors can be a bit noisy as it is not well insulated for noise abatement but that is what you would expect from an older motor inn.

We were on the 2nd floor and could hear everyone on 3rd floor in room above ours. I called the front desk to see if they could ask room above us to quiet it down as it was already very late. I was told they couldn't do anything about it. Never stay on bottom floors! I know I'll never stay there again!

Con: Rooms smells really bad. Not just the cleaning agents but a terrible smell that cannot be rid despite keeping the door open. Room appeared clean but was not. Hairs all over the floor, I had to use one of the towels to wipe the entire room to feel comfortable walking around. TV too small, no continental breakfast, and no microwave in the room.

There was hair in the bathtub and around the edges of the bathroom floor. The door has such a large gap around the edges that bugs kept getting in and you could hear all the outside noise. But very cheap and easy to get to. Staff was nice.

Overall a pleasant stay , not much to complain about WiFI was weak as in most hotels

Parking is okay for regular cars. Large Trucks, not so east. Rooms are OK. We had noisy neighbors upstairs most nights, but otherwise, okay.

With my room 118 the towel handle by the sink broke off when I put the towel back, BUT besides that small dysfunction it was the best hotel I’ve stayed in forever, and the staff was absolutely amazing and incredible! The rooms were clean and smelled like a new hotel lol. If I ever have to stay at a hotel in San Diego again it will be this one !

The staff was so accommodating with my disabilities. Very friendly. My favorite part was the bed it was so comfy I honestly had no complaints except a microwave was the only thing I would have wanted. Theroom, especially bed was so comfortable, so that totally made up for it.

The room itself looked clean, but there were a few issues. I noticed tiny spiders in the bathroom, the toilet was a little loose from the floor, and there weren’t any blankets on the bed—only the fitted sheets. I actually had to go out and buy a blanket, which was unexpected. It was okay for a one night stay, but I personally wouldn’t choose to stay here for multiple nights. I hope some of these things can be improved because the staff was very friendly and this hotel deserves a chance.

Loved this place - for location and price with parking (some is even covered parking!) you can not beat it. Surrounded by all the amazing asian restaurants in the San Diego area don't pass up this place. The dude at reception was hilarious - over all had an amazing stay here. I will for sure be back.

Most staff were super nice and responsive. Rooms were clean. Beds only had sheets, no blanket cover as pictured, "we are transitioning to no blankets so some rooms have them, some don't" was odd, although they gave me a mismatched blanket upon request. Overall stay ok, but be sure to put "do not disturb" on your door. Eight-thirty am the cleaning supervisor was pounding on our door, demanding to know if we would need our room cleaned that day so she could make her schedule (not do cleaning right then, but make her plan). Very unpleasant awakening. Overall summary: this place was reasonably priced, clean, convenient to 805.

The staff member who checked us in was friendly. Parking was convenient. The bed was creaky and bowed under human weight so the mattress caved in when either of us turned in bed. The walls are very thin so I could hear what was happening in surrounding rooms which made it hard to sleep.

We needed a place with a bed and a shower for one night in San Diego. Pleasant Inn fit that need fine. Was clean and the bed was comfortable. The place could use an update but what they have is well maintained. Price was excellent!

We had the room with the roll-in shower, which we appreciated. But the control was very sticky - hard to pull the knob out and push it back in. There was a handicap parking spot right in front of the door, and we used that until someone else without a handicap sticker got it first. For amenities, the little sitting area out front in the shade is nice. but there's no breakfast included. The staff were friendly. Getting in and out is tricky. The entrance near the sign just barely has room for a car to enter while another is exiting.

We have been here before is our usual hotel when we travel to San Diego twice a year. The front staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Asked for more towels, blanket, no problem Bathroom is clean and the beds are super comfortable Plenty of parking

The front desk staff was super nice and helpful. We were staying close to Scripps Hospital for a procedure and this location was great for that. The room was very clean and quiet.

The first night was very nice. Unfortunately, the 2nd night, the air conditioner was leaking at about 10pm at night. So i turned it off for the whole night, which made the room stuffy. Also, the shower is a little tricky to turn on and off, and the water pressure is low

Staff was welcoming and responsive when we checked in Christmas night. The room was an average motel room, Rm 210. We could hear the room upstairs where someone was moving heavy things for a good hour altho we had the tv on. The five pillows on the bed were very small so we requested more so our backs would be cushioned against the headboard. Sheets looked ancient and grayish. Please use bleach on the sheets!!

Very nice, only area of improvement, the soap bottle in the shower was empty, other than that, no complaints.

The floor towel was dirty and something black and poo like came out of the tub drain.

I've stayed here numerous times, whenever dates/availability and price coincide. For a place that has been around a while, they certainly try and keep things nice and are positive with any assistance that might be needed. I have appreciated their personal way of interacting and taking care of things.

second time staying here with my partner. It was good overall, but there was no microwave, and some of the bathroom features were a bit worn out like the water splashing onto the floor easily when we took a shower. it wasn’t a big deal though it’s okay. we might come to stay here again next time and request a different room if we notice the same problem. i also like that there are a lot of shops and restaurants in this area. thank you!

I was in room 312. The room could be improved. The bed was too soft and could easily be detached from the wall. The bathtub seemed like it was clogged up and easily filled with water when taking shower.

Great friendly staff. They cleaned the rooms each morning replacing used towels, remaking beds etc. The room had an A/C unit that worked well on hotter days. There was plenty of parking (although i didn't have a rental car). My only complaint was wifi was spotty and unreliable at times.

Stay was very pleasant at Pleasant Inn. Rooms were very clean and even had house keepers knocking on my door early eager to clean. Parking was very tight is the only negative I can say. Hotel is in a high traffic area off the freeway so it can get noisy. Got the room at a good deal, the cheapest I had ever seen so I couldn’t pass up. Honestly, I can’t see myself paying more for the room during the peak summertime; room not worth it. Nevertheless, you are paying for a premium for the good Clairemont area, room cleanliness, and reviews from previous guest. If you can get room cheap, get it otherwise they may be better options at the same price.

Staff were nice when checking in. Uncomfortable bed/pillows. Sink was clogged upon arrival and had to scoop out the water and throw into the bathtub. Room was okay size.

Floors blackened socks. Had to request a second wash rag for a second guest. AC was unreliable. A lot of aircraft noise.

The extra protection I purchased is very deceiving and basically covers nothing. We checked in at 30 minutes later. I returned to the office to let them know that my wife was having really bad menstrual cramps and a migraine so we decided to cancel our plans for the next day and drive back home to Riverside. When I spoke to the man at the front desk, he was very dismissive and just said go through hotels.com. There’s nothing I can do to help you here and I just asked him simple questions. If you knew anything about the protection plan, I called the customer service number for the protection plan insurance company, and they initially assured me that interrupted stay for the reasons I gave would qualify for a claim. When I tried to reach them over the course of the next couple of days, they told me that the only way my interrupted 30 minutes they could get covered was if we had a doctors note from the doctor for that night. We checked out at 11:30 PM and who goes to the doctor for severe mental cramps and a migraine. My wife just wanted to go home to sleep so she could feel better. This has happened to her before and it could last for a few days. Ultimately, I feel that the protection as described on hotels.com is very misleading and all lose to protection for any reason. But it is very unreasonable to expect a guest to go to the doctor in this situation just to prove the coverage. We were only there for 30 minutes and now I’m stuck for the entire pay of the stay.

Everything was fine. The checkin was easy and the night attendant was efficient and helpful. The place was clean and managed well. It's just definitely a no-frills place to stay with no real perks. Really just what we needed for a last-minute stay.

I booked the wrong day for this stay. Hotel staff and especially the hotel.com agent so the 800 call center fixed the problem within minutes. Allowed me to check in by rebooking the reservation. Excellent customer service

Very good stay no complaints

With my Dad not doing well, I've had to come back more frequently and a few of those times, the price and dates matched up...and I stayed here at Pleasant Inn. Each time has been welcoming, comfortable and clean. The staff tend to, overall, have a mindset of keeping the place inside/outside at a high level of clean--Hard to do when it's an older building, but they seem to care and I appreciate that.

The staff was SO friendly and helpful! Our room was super clean, pillows are a bit small and not that comfortable but overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend.

The room was very nice looked clean but sadly i was awaken up at 230 A.M. by bugs crawling on me and the wall so i got my belongings and checked out by 3am the staff was very understanding refunded my stay but still to be asleep one minute and woken up by bugs aint cool at all .

Everything was great with the property, especially the parking. I just like a firmer mattress and the pillows were like decorative pillows and quite firm. It wasn’t terrible and I would definitely stay there again. Great value for money.

Great location in Clairemont area of San Diego. Motel is basic but clean, beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, and it was quiet at night. No problems.

Had a housekeeping issue with my room, but the lobby staff were amazing and upgraded me to another room without me even asking. Nice quiet hotel.

I’ve stayed here twice and both times I’ve been so happy! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the people at the front desk are friendly & helpful! I needed early check in to coincide with moving my daughter on campus, and Luis went out of his way to assist me. Then I locked myself out of my room & no problem, Luis helped me right away! (And I so appreciated his understanding)! Good food and shopping are not too far away! Will definitely be back!!

The room itself was good but not the staff. I would not recommend that you leave any thing valuable in your room. The cleaning staff emptied the fridge full of unopened drinks we had left there and then lied when confronted.

Hotel staff is very nice. Parking lot is small in front, but plentiful, and I greatly appreciated that there was not a parking surcharge. The room was also small, but was very clean and a perfect efficiency room for my 1 night stay. Good WiFi and quiet, safe area. I would stay here again. Just a word of caution: if you don’t need housekeeping, make sure to put your do not disturb tag on the door. Housekeeping arrived around 9AM, attempting to enter the unit, although checkout was at 11AM. Not a major issue, but something to be mindful of.

The property is convenient to the freeway, shopping, and dining. The only drawback is that there is no microwave in the rooms or in the common areas.

The most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in!

House keeping walked in to my room without announcing themselves at 8am when check out is at 11, that was horrible. we felt like we had to get out ASAP.

The staff were very nice. It’s an old building the toilet sounded like it was going to take off when you flushed it. Everything was clean.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The property is near the exit/entrance of the freeway so you can hear the traffic but it's not too bad at night. You can hear it more in the morning/day time. The parking is extremely tight. Our overall experience was that we were comfortable and I slept nicely. The Pleasant Inn is a bit older, but the staff has kept it in very good condition. Large room and comfortable bed. They are located very near to both the 805 and 163 freeways for convenience.

This place is ok. Everything was just ok, BUT the BED MATTRESS had to be very old or just a POS. It sagged terribly and I’m not overweight or heavy by any means. The linen/towels were old and skimpy as well. Could’ve had the same quality right next-door at Motel 6 for $50 a night less

We have stayed here before and it was fine. This time the bed was awful and the bathroom needs updating!

The room was clean and had the minimum. Bed, tv, blowdrier and one tiny bar of soap. Tub filled while showering - no plug just extremely slow running drain. I could have been ok with that…however parking was awful. We came back to the hotel late. Spaces small so trucks took two, people parked crooked and did not pull fully into spaces blocking 6 spaces from being used. Front staff unconcerned about the problem. Tired and just wanted to go to bed. We register our cars. Don’t understand if someone is blocking six - eight spots why they can’t be asked to move or at least pull fully to the spot. Parking is a positive reason to book in San Diego but not if people can take additional spots and leave others blocked out.

Checked all boxes I was looking for: clean, safe and affordable. So many area hotels are very expensive so the Pleasant Inn was a great find.

The room was spotless and comfortable, check in was a breeze and the front desk staff were 5 stars - so friendly and kind! Zero complaints. The area is not the best and parking is very difficult due to the spaces not being designed for full size vehicles. We managed though and everything you need is close by with easy access to the rest of the city.

The location is very convenient - right next to the highway, down the street from Walmart and a grocery store, across the street from a gas station and down the street from one of my friends and the neighborhood where I used to live. There's a great hibachi style restaurant right next door with great food. The rooms were very clean. We had an electrical issue with our first room after a couple of days and was moved to another room. It was a nice, clean room also, so no complaints. The parking can get really tight if the hotel is fully occupied. After the 4th of July weekend was over and people started leaving, the parking situation was much better. I would definitely book here again. The staff was awesome, from the front desk to the housekeepers. Thanks for a great stay! This was part of what made a great vacation for me and my son.

Good hotel. Staff was very nice. Clean room. Small issue with a lil leaky toilet but just put a towel around it. Great food options around there.

Comfortable okay but to was to far away from San Diego we had to back track. Not to close and nothing good around there so I don’t think we be booking there again.

No drinking water facility. Garbage under the bed not cleaned from previous guests. Bare facilities for the price.

The soap bottles were empty, right outside our room there was a strong smell of weed. The room itself smelled like someone was smoking in there. I found a lighter on the window even tho there was a "no smoking" sign in the room.

Rooms clean and quiet. Staff was wonderfully helpful, courteous and kind. I would stay here again for sure!

Very bare bones room with a coffee maker, small refrigerator and a very small TV. Remote for TV didn't work so no TV. We got in late and slept in. Asked for a 30 minute late checkout and got 15 minutes! And $215 cost!

Great for the price

Room was ready and clean upon arrival. Although the website said there isn’t daily maid service, our rooms were made up daily with fresh towels. Only issue was last night of stay there were people adjacent to us out on the balcony laughing and making a lot of noise from about 1-3 am. Hotel seemed like it was pretty safe although there were homeless people not far away. Would stay there again.

Well this place is very over priced for what they say is available no breakfast for one like it states the NOISE from the street is so loud it's hard to sleep on top of it the door weather strip was so worn out that you can see daylight through it and plus the floors were very dirty it also had a horrible odor as soon as you open the door to the room . The pictures are deceiving when l told the clerk at the front desk all the issue he was very disrespectful and told me to go to the motel 6 next door next time cause i told him we would not come back cause it was over priced this place is ridiculous for 700.00 for 4 night what a sucker i guess i was man oh man what a rip off

Super clean and quiet

Bathroom was not clean and tub had hair on it. Refrigerator leaked throughout the night. Shower gel was not refilled on request so had to get it ourselves second day.

Facilities are old and parking is tight but overall the property is clean and service was good.
