The location is fabulous! We were disappointed that we didn't have any outdoor space off of our room, although we had a great ocean view. Our room was nice, though very small. They should really invest in an ice machine. A bag of ice at the liquor store across the street was $5!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We chose to find our own parking space, because hotel parking is $50 per night. That worked out after about 45 minutes driving around looking for a space! Lol.

room had water leak in it, floor covered in water. they offered to dry it up but it was continuing to leak. random long hairs all over the bathroom, toilet and sink upon arrival. mildew smell.

The only disappointing part was the pictures for our room online showed a couch and there was not a couch in our room. Otherwise we would definitely visit here again.

OMGGG what a blast! My flight arrived before the actual check in time of 4pm. I was able to check in early at 1pm for a $60/$70 fee. The room I got was one king bed with a partial ocean view. The view was able to be seen on the balcony that lead to my room. Not viewable from windows which I didn’t mind. I didn’t request parking because I didn’t bring my car with me. If you do bring one, I highly recommend getting that accommodation. Parking was hard to look for whenever my friend came to see me. They also allowed guest without extra fees, as long as you let them know who is coming. As for the location overall; literally the best. Walking distance for stores, restaurants, the beach, literally anything you need. There’s also beach towels, mats, chairs, sunglasses and etc in the lobby that is first come first serve. So thankful for that because I didn’t bring any beach items so I definitely used that to my advantage. Staff is extremely helpful and kind. Including the cleaning staff, they were quick and reliable. This is not like your typical hotel with 24 hr lobby, special room service, hallways, elevator etc. This was honestly perfect operations especially since it’s located right by the beach. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I will definitely book with Pacific View Inn again whenever I’m back in San Diego!

The room was clean. Amenities are simple. The bed was very comfortable. The sheets smelled good. I’m a big guy so the shower was a little tight with wise, but other than that the water was warm and they provide plenty of shampoo. My walk to the beach took all of about two minutes. They’re in a great location on Pacific Beach, where you can walk down the boardwalk into party land; or stay on the peaceful outskirts of crystal pier, which is a whole five minute walk. This place location is great. The staff is very nice. I look forward to staying here again. I found it very peaceful.

Loved the location. Perfectly accessible but still quiet. Loved it for my son and I. Parking can “sell out” early so either inquiry about purchasing ahead of check in or get lucky like we did with free street parking right in front of our room. 😊

The place is perfect if you're looking to be next to the beach, it is very comfortable and clean. The checkout was easy and be aware if you come after hours the oreception is closed but they provide you a lockbox where you can retrieve your key.

We finally gave up and rented another hotel with parking on site Pacific View Did Not refund our money They told us quote, “It was not their problem” that we could not find parking and again they would reimburse us

Room was clean and pleasant; updated. Had refrigerator, coffee maker, safe, and toiletries. Hotel is right on the beach and convenient to everything; evenings were quiet. Easy check-in and all the staff was super nice and friendly. Each day we borrowed beach chairs from the office and went down to the beach.

Great staff, location, and Rooms! Only complaint would be the parking. There is only 3 spots available to be reserved ahead of time, otherwise you have to rely on street parking. I'll definitely be reserving paid parking in the future.

The hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a great a location to the beach and to the town. The room was clean and had a great view of the ocean. The air conditioning was great.

Closeness to the beach is nice. My room was spacious but cheap. No full length mirror and the blinds were not back out because they were too short to cut out the light. No soap in my bathroom. Glad it was only a one night stay.

It’s our 4th stay. We love the location, and the hotel is clean. I always pay extra to have a few, but this time our view was worse than usual.

Super location. Small, neat hotel right in the middle of the beach scene. Room was small but clean. Beds were comfy. Our room had fabulous ocean view.

Great location, easy to walk to everything in PB. BUT...do not get room 104! Aweful! At the bottom of the stairs directly across from the upstairs exit door. Door slamming shut all day and night with guests running up and down the stairs. LOUD. And the only window is right up to the sidewalk.

We had a great beach view with chairs to enjoy it. Checking in was easy and the staff was helpful. They have beach chairs/umbrellas/towels you can use which was perfect! Loved being close to the boardwalk and close to plenty of food options. Would def stay here again!

We had a partial ocean view room. It was very nice. Very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There are blow dyers in the room, but, no iron. You're able to check out beach chairs and towels. I feel like the only thing lacking was an ice machine

It was great to be right next to the beach as well as close proximity to restaurants and stores. It made going out and just walking the sea side very easy. There were also some parakeets that lived right outside on a palm tree. The room we stayed in was not quite clean when we checked in. There were hair on the shower wall and toilet. Also, looked like they just got done painting the tiles in the shower. It was coming off when it got wet. The walls are super thin so you can hear almost everyone that stayed there when they were talking.

Amazing staff always friendly with beautiful smiles. My sons and I enjoyed every night.

We arrived just after 2 pm. The room was ready, but they wanted another $45 to check in!! So, we chose to wait until a 4 pm check-in time and went to the beach for a bit. We came back at 4 pm and the office was locked with a "Gone to Lunch" sign. We called both numbers for help and neither were answered. Nobody ever called back. We contacted Hotels.com and they lied about the reservation. Terrible experience.

some staff members are wonderful, but not all. The room is quite basic, but it is so close to the ocean... The bathroom is newly remodeled and clean.

Our room and view was perfect. Room was very clean and we were provided all the essentials needed. They offer room service everyday which is great. There are so many restaurants, bars, stores were you can all walk to.... They offer free beach towels and beach chairs which were super helpful for out of town visitors like us. They have a nice fire place were you can sit and relax.

Housekeeping only occurred every second day. The room could use some more attention to detail when cleaning. High touch areas such as the fridge, door handles, and door frames (because there’s a barn door) were filthy. We were on the lower level so we could hear footsteps above. Walls were also super thin, we could hear loud music and conversations from other guests. The front counter closes over night so there is no one to report issues too. With that being said, the location was great because it’s so close to the beach. If travelling with a family, I’d suggest to go during the week as there are many bars/clubs close by. I’d recommend the hotel conduct a deep clean to ensure there is no residue from previous guests in high touch ateas and offer daily towel exchanges.

Excellent customer service, very friendly and helped me turn on the lights (special lights activated by a key). Easy access to shops, restaurants, and right on the beach. Parking can be tricky, but you can purchase a spot for $50 if they have availability.

This adorable little Inn is in a perfect location to walk to restaurants and coffee shops then head out for a day at the beach. The rooms are so cute with everything you need! The air conditioning worked great to keep the room the perfect temperature. All of the staff was so friendly and helpful. This is a place we will visit again!

The location is AMAZING! There is zero parking. Cleanliness is subjective. Maid service is every three days, but price was great! So, I guess you pay for what you get.

Location is perfect for seeing all of Pacific Beach. The staff is fantastic. The rooms are great. Wish there was more parking especially for motorcycle.

The location could not be beat - fantastic!! Most of the staff were so kind and lovely. The room was clean, but a little stark - no art on the walls. The bathroom was remodeled and really pretty - but the shower curtain was really annoying (kept sticking to me) and made the shower uncomfortable. A couple things were broken too, but they were very responsive to getting them fixed. GREAT place if all you're doing is mostly sleeping there!!

This place was perfect for me. Right on the beach with ocean views from my room. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was clean, recently updated and so close to everything! Restaurants, shops, coffee spots and bars all right there! Cannot wait to come back. One thing to note - there is no ice at the facility.

The location was great! It was within walking distance of a multitude of restaurants, bars, convenience stores, dessert places, and public transportation. We could walk to La Jolla or Belmot Park in less than an hour. We were steps from the beach. The Ocean Walk in front of the hotel is the perfect place to see the sunset and to people watch. The staff is great. There are beach chairs and towels to borrow. There is a small fridge in the room. The room is tiny. We were constantly walking over each other. There was only one nightstand and lamp. One side of the bed didn't have a place to put anything or a light. The safe did not work. The small bathroom did not have a place to put our things (toothbrush, brush, curling iron, etc.). We were only give one set of towels. There was only one chair and the bed was the only other place to sit. The wifi was spotty. It dropped three times during our 1 1/2 day stay.

We had a ground floor room but we had easy access to the beach and were able to get a parking spot. Close walk to grocery store, restaurants and bars.

Brought up I might’ve been charged extra. Paid through booking and they charged me separate full room charges ontop of the full price I paid through booking— reception couldn’t help me said they weren’t sure how charging through third party works.

I loved hearing the waves crashing from my room. We were a block from a really good restaurant bar. Parking was a challenge. You have to watch where you park. The no parking street sweeping signs are different on either sides of the street.

Such a great boutique hotel for a quick winter getaway by the sea. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were simple and clean. The star was being right on the water and being able to walk to everything.

Our stay was spectacular. Upon arrival and check-out, the employees and Manager were welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone planning to stay in Pacific Beach.

Our stay was excellent. We contacted the hotel that we would be checking in late, as we were told there is no one available after 8:30 pm. I was told I would receive and email with instructions on how to get into our room. The info never was sent and we were told can not get into our room until the following day so we had to change our plans to arrive before 8:30. Terrible service

Check in early and was told to come back at three. Room was not ready at 3. 4 a clock came around and still room was not ready. I had to sit in the lobby and then watch them check 7 people who got rooms right away. At 4:40 my room was finely ready. Horrible experience

The room was extremely loud. We stayed on the first floor and the upstairs guests kept us up all night every night. I don’t recommend this Inn if you’re traveling with children. The location is nice and there are great restaurants within walking distance. You can’t beat the price. If you decide to stay here, stay in an upstairs middle room, unless you don’t mind noise.

We had a double room at the back of the hotel. While it was adequate, it felt very overpriced for what it was. I understand the beach is the main attraction and likely drives the pricing, but we were disappointed with the room itself—no view and very confined.

The room was comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and looked clean. The View from the partial view room number 205 was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I appreciated that they offered beach towels and chairs in other helpful tips about the area. The location is perfect.

An outstanding stay overall! From the great location to the beach/pier, to awesome restaurants just down the street, to a super professional & courteous Staff, to even the sitting around the firepit for 3hrs, making new friends!!! We will definitely tell everyone & will definitely stay again when visiting family in SoCal!!

Spacious clean room! The location cannot be beat, close to the beach, pier, tons of dining options, and sea world. Loved that the hotel had free beach chairs, toys and towels to use. Esmeralda at the front desk was amazing! We were are a party of seven and pretty needy, she went above and beyond for us and really made our stay! We plan to stay here again:)

our shins on the platform bed trying to across the bathroom. The bathroom sink had no counter space. We moved to the 1st level which was much larger and more comfortable, however only a couple sidelight windows and no view. Of note, there is no microwave, ice or bottled water. Housekeeping was not great; at most they dropped clean towels on the bed, took the soiled towels and emptied the trash. On a positive note, the rooms are clean and the location is incredible! Everything is within walking distance, including the ocean, restaurants, grocery store, CVS and public transportation. For a few dollars, you can get to Old Town, the zoo, downtown, Seaport Village, etc. The lobby staff are very accomodating and have lots of complimentary items to borrow (i.e. beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, board games, sunglasses and more!) Overall, we were pleased with our stay.

We stayed one night as a spontaneous extended vacation. We usually book in the area but this was our first time booking this hotel. The room was super cozy and small perfect for 2 adults and 2 small children. We traveled with two other adults and it was a bit small for us. Not bad for one night trip. Pretty clean but water pressure sucked. Great location and access to restaurants and beach.

Basic room amenities, great location . But the staff are rude , was going to walk in for reservations but the front desk lady was being rude and not accommodating . Yes we stayed in for 2 nights and yes we were a customer , felt discriminated because when another guest was checking in , the lady was so friendly and helpful to the other guest, just a wow how i was treated differently . I never felt discriminated , was just asking to reserve but she was unhelpful and decided to book with expedia. Also our wifi didnt work for our entire stay, reported the problem during the first day and the following day and no solution was given . They were trying to blame our devices. I have the new iphone 17 pro max , so the problem should be with the wifi itself , not our devices. I even showed them my phone with the wifi being connected but loading nothing.

Make sure to ask Joe to turn the lights on in the unit, as it requires a room key to activate lighting. The phone connectivity in the room is very limited due to building type construction. The property WiFi is on the poor side, so if you need internet or phone service, you’ll have to step outside to the front of the property. This is with Verizon or T Mobile service. The porch light that activates at dusk and stays on until sunrise is located directly outside the window which is located directly in front of the bed. Your room will be lit up when it’s sleep time. I would recommend a sleep mask. I would highly recommend a parking permit as public parking is very limited due to high activity in the area. This is not a bad property, just some little things that can be annoying. Enjoy the stay..

From the room I was in you are not able to see the beach, you have to walk out and to the front where the fire pit is. Check in was easy, parking is tough, but it worked out. The food nearby was excellent!

We had a lovely time. The staff was great. The only issue we had was asking for fresh towels and coming home to find our door having been left open all day and into the night - we assume for the staff to access the bathroom - to no new towels. Thankfully all of our things were still accounted for.

This stay was a quick overnight one and everything was perfect, and the beach is a hop skip and a jump away but everything is right around the corner. Perfect stay and one of the best hotels on Pacific Beach!

The fire pit area is a great place to end each night, to unwind & reflect on the day's awesomeness. I'll definitely be back here again! In fact, this was my 3rd time staying here! Shower was too small, shower dispensers were hung in wrong place, they were very hard to use, towels are very thin, no Ice Machine, Room was super small( didn’t look like picture!! Great location!! We were their for only 2 nights any longer it would have been rough!

The rooms were a little different than it was pictured online, but the location was perfect. You definitely have to try Oscars the taco shop just right down the street parking was a bit of a headache, but I got lucky and got a spot outside my room. It was nice that they have chairs and towels in the office to take down to the beach over. I’d stay here again. I enjoyed my weekend

The floors were dirty to the point it got on your feet. THERE IS NO PARKING except for like 3 spots. The bathroom doors do not close all the way and had a 1-2 inch gap.

The room was extremely small could barely walk around the beds. I would never say in room 207 again. Large amounts of sand on the floor and in the bedding, I know it's by a beach but it could have been cleaner. We have stayed there off and on over the years and this was absolutely our worst experience. Could have done much better for $50 more elsewhere.

Overall it was a good stay. Close to the beach and within walking distance of so many food options. However the shower smelled as if they used a dirty towel on the tile and was just a bad smell overall and also the linen and sheets. Would suggest they use clean rags and ensure everything is washed for the clean smell.

We loved how close to the beach this hotel is! It’s the perfect spot if you want to be right by all the restaurants, bars, and ocean! It looks like the room had been recently renovated as well.

This hotel was right on Pacific Beach with a very short walk to the beach access stairs. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was small (as other reviews stated) but very clean. All the essentials were in the room. Safe, coffee maker, refrigerator, comfy bed. Hotel has a huge stock of free to use beach gear- umbrellas, towels, chairs and more. Fabulous value for the location. Only downside is the description of parking was incorrect. There is NO option for third party bookings to use parking on site. Only option is street parking. Doable, but read signs carefully. Spaces open up after 8 PM. We found a spot two blocks away to leave the car for our two night stay.

Property location cannot be beat. Right on boardwalk in upper PB. Property is a bit old but has recently been remodeled. Staff were very nice, place was really clean and comfortable. Will stay there again.

No ice machine and or water to refill my bottle. Only had for purchase water in plastic bottles. Parking is a challenge but eventually found a spot. You might want to spring for the $30 paid parking but that seems steep for what amounts to an on street parking space. Biggest issue: front desk was not helpful and exhibited very low level energy when answering basic questions including suggestions about where to park.

It was a great location. Nothing fancy, very very minimal and lacking amenities. Staff was very helpful and kind. Wouldn’t pay a great deal for the hotel but like I said, location was great.

The desk staff was unhelpful and not very kind at check in. There should be a loading space for unloading luggage into the room since there isn’t close parking. They didn’t refill our coffee when they cleaned the room. There was loud partying in the room next to us all night.

We loved the location of this property. It was on the beach. Everything was walkable. There were so many great places to eat and drink. The hotel was clean spacious and renovated. They had a bonfire pit. They also had beach chairs, beach towels and sand toys to use. We reserved parking ahead of time and I think that’s the way to go otherwise you have to find street parking and that can be difficult during the day. We would stay here again!

Parking is tricky and we were on the bottom floor which was extremely noisy. The staff is amazing. We loved the area! Great vibe, lots of places to eat, good shopping!

I arrived for a late check-in and was charged an extra fee to retrieve my key from a lockbox on the front door, which was never mentioned during booking. I was supposed to receive an email with my receipt and lockbox code, but I never got one. When I arrived, no one was present, even though I was told over the phone someone would be there to assist. I ended up having to call a completely different hotel just to get my lockbox code. After finally getting into the room, there were numerous issues: • No coffee, despite multiple calls requesting help • No parking, even though I paid extra for it – I had to park in the neighborhood • No Wi-Fi info provided • No cell service in the room • TV didn’t work at all When I called back several times for assistance, I was met with rudeness from the person at the other hotel, Derrick, who eventually said, “We can’t help you with anything else, just complain in the morning.” When I got upset over the poor treatment, he hung up on me. The next morning, I went to the hotel at 8 AM to return my keys and voice my frustration. The woman at the front desk (I didn’t get her name) told me I’d have to take up any refund issues with Hotels.com/Expedia, not with them. I explained it wasn’t even about the money – it was about how terribly I was treated. Everyone I encountered just seemed to be passing the buck instead of taking responsibility. This was not just a case of bad service – it was a complete lack of profess

This property is not what it looks like in the pictures. The room is very small with low ceilings, you have to use an extra key card to turn on the lights and keep them on. It says partial ocean view and we had a view on the sidewalk so had to keep our blinds closed the entire time, since everyone walking by could see directly into our room. We were on the bottom floor and it was very loud. You could hear everyone going up and down the stairs as well as all their conversations. Our door wasn’t even level with the ground so we had to put a towel to block the light and make it feel like we had some sort of privacy. Who ever designed the shower was not ethical at all. It’s so long and the actual shower area is very small. My boyfriend is 6’1 and barely fit within the shower area. I could only stay the first night and booked a second hotel in the morning when I woke up. Technically booked our third hotel because this was supposed to be our second and final hotel of our long road trip. I asked for a partial refund as I paid out of pocket, and the hotel told me I had to go through Expedia, and Expedia is telling me they emailed the hotel. Hopefully they resolve this issue because I’ve never felt so uncomfortable that I couldn’t stay in a hotel I booked. Just know they make this place look way nicer then what it is. We got “catfished.” Also they say you can pay for parking and it appears the staff gave all the parking to their friends and themselves. No guests had parking.

The property was nice and the staff was great. But the walls and floors are so thin. I was on a bottom floor and all you hear is stomping from the children above that wakes you up super early. The room is in a great location, right in front of the beach and surrounded by many restaurants. The room was regular the only suggestion/complaint I'd have is that the water pressure in the bathroom was not good and there was no hand soap for washing your hands.

Great location and friendly staff but beds weren’t comfortable at all. They’re super small and mattresses and bedding are too thin. We also bruised our shins repeatedly because there’s corners that protrude beyond the mattresses and the small protectors aren’t sufficient. Unfortunately it’s too easy to bump into those.

The property is located right in front of the beach which is amazing. We really enjoyed the location and how easy it was to go grab a bite to eat or do some shopping. There are so many good little spots nearby I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. The room was specious and clean, I loved the decor and appreciated the amount of towels they provided in a room seeing as that we were a family of four 1/2. I will definitely be looking forward to coming back and staying here!

Bad- The rooms on their web site and hotels.com are old photos and thus we thought we were getting a little couch to sit but only uncomfy wicker chairs. Room is small. No mirror other than in bathroom/no full length mirror. No place to hang dresses or anything other that a short coat. Linens and towels were not super clean. Lots of stains on towels and the felt blankets were dirty. They say housekeeping every 3 days. We were there 4 days and nothing for housekeeping. When we asked for extra linens we were given the minimum amount like it was a bother. Never got a new bath mat. We were on our way out but they said we had to take the towels to our room ourselves. We tried to email them 3 times before our arrival and never heard back. The fire pit is a nice concept- but no cushions and we’re told it couldn’t be on when they aren’t there- they leave the office at 9pm- so not ideal. The bathroom barn door/ sliding door didn’t close and doesn’t provide proper privacy. All in all- it’s a cheap simple motel but perfect for beach enjoyment and access.

There was no hand soap in the bathroom so we asked the front desk for soap and a blanket and they never brought it. No parking at the hotel so you have to find a spot in the housing track and walk

Alice at the front desk was wonderful but the other woman that was there was miserable!! Not only is there NO parking you have to reserve one of about 4 spots. Their website says ‘limited parking’ NOT that you have to reserve it!! The showers are OMG narrow!!! The shower curtain clings to you because it is so narrow!! I am sure they don’t clean them all that well - disgusting! It even clung to my 26 year old son who is about 6 foot 170 pounds so it is not because we are big fatties!!! The lay out of the room is weird and their placement of the TV made it difficult to see from both beds!! I would definitely look for a different place to stay!!!

Great little place! Parking was a little tricky, but you just have to be a little patient and look for spots on side streets within a short walk to the Inn. We will be back!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything was good but it was not particularly nice and had no frills. It is good for the price and it's right by the ocean- literally on the boardwalk. Exceeded my expectations. They even upgraded us for free by selecting us as Guest of the Day. Homey vibe.

Beautiful scenery love the fact that I can just walk to the beach and it’s just right there ughhh so nice

ROOMS ARE IN ALMOST NEW CONDITION , THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THE HOTEL CHARGES PARKING EVEN IF YOU HAVE HANDYCAP PLACARD
