    The room was big and the property nicely designed with all the palm trees. Also the bed was very comfy. They even had a fridge and some other nice amenities. Also it's well.connected by bus to the old town, which is a transport hub to get to anywhere fast. The breakfast didn't have any healthy items. Not a single piece of fruit or veggies. I know it's the US, but I think you can do a lot better on that one. Also the hairdryer was completely broken.

    It was close to where I needed to be. It is located near many attractions but there is a car wash close and it can be loud, get use to making a U turn to go most places, there is a median so you can only turn right out of the parking lot, the pool is small and didn't look very clean, parking is tight, the room itself had a weird oder like cleaning chemicals possible, bath tub was a bit dirty looking, we happened to rent a room that was adjoining with another and the first night was hard to sleep because you could here banging and a loud TV, do not depend on the breakfast they only offered cereal and waffles.

    Close to the zoo and sea world The breakfast was very sparse , it had waffle Makers but they kept running out of the waffle mix the woman who was in charge of the breakfast area wasn’t there very often to refill the waffle mix , orange and apple juice,coffee was okay but very weak , no hot breakfast , just dry cereal fruit loops and brand flakes, milk was provided. Breakfast was mediocre and very lightweight. The room was nice cable channels , bathtub/shower the faucet was hard to move the body wash :shampoo ran out . It was just okay

    Absolutely nothing. The room was dirty and smelt terrible, stains, bug, ripped sheets and floor, broken put back together furniture and our bathroom door was stuck. Room looked nothing like the picture BEWARE and people were injecting themselves with drug outside our room. Staff did absolutely nothing.

    I loved that parking is free, one of the very last places where no parking fees are included as this is what every hotel should have. Every other hotel has piece-meal charges that add up. It’s getting quite rare for hotels to cater to the middle class as most are just interested in charging more and squeezing more out of every traveler, especially on holidays or special events. The rooms are just the norm, nothing special stands out, but they are comfortable. The one thing I keep disliking about this place is that the state they have a continental breakfast, and their breakfast always fall short, as I have witnessed on several different stays there, when all they have is waffles, coffee, and juice.

    The staff was very friendly & helpful. Very comfortable beds and convenient location for beach, public transportation, shops & restaurants. Very cleanly maintained property. Small buffet area with waffles & cereals which was tasty Rooms are a small bit outdated but for the price it really didn’t matter. When walking to old town station which is about 15 min by foot, there was a good amount of homeless people around, by no fault of the property ofcourse and it’s awful to see but did feel a small bit unsafe walking around at night

    The beds were comfortable. We had to try 4 different rooms multiple times to get a room where the key cards would open the door and staff was very unconcerned about it. The room we finally were able to get into the refrigerated didn't work, when trying to turn down the air conditioner (after we had to reset it to get it to come on) it tripped the breaker, and the bathtub faucet dripped constantly. The only breakfast items were make yourself waffles, fruit loops cereal, bran cereal, coffee and I believe juice.

    Walls are very thin, we heard the neighbor snoring all night and we stayed in the room right next to the housekeeping room which was VERY loud at 6 am every morning. Couldn't get the bathtub to stop leaking unless I wrenched it so hard I thought I was going to break it. Bed was comfortable.

    I was charged $50 deposit on two day stay. When I checked my transaction with the bank it was under a name that said Thrift car rental. I called Howard Johnson the lady Ann said it was deposited back into my bank. Which never got back to me. Now she said there is no record of my transaction. Also she sent a picture so tiny that you can’t even read. She said it was sent to a card ending in 8170 which I don’t even have at all. It’s better to take cash instead of using a card. First time this has happen to me I’ve been stay here for over 7 years.

    This "motel" is filled with homeless and is not in a very good part of town. Several occupants appeared to be living out of the motel. The walls are so thin you might as well be in your neighbors room. The furniture and decor of the motel needs a refresh. The employee were very nice. I guess it's a get what you pay for type of place. Lasted one night and changed hotels.

    Needed a hotel for few hours to nap before we take our early morning flight, so booked this hotel for the proximity of the airport. Such dated property, Doors jammed, have to use force and push with shoulders to open and close. Paper thin walls, zero privacy. We stayed in room #249. room 248 was so loud watching TV till 3 am and all sorts of private sounds keeping us up all night. Found a bug on the bed sheet. The blankets and bedding looked too old and used..

    The location was perfect. I didn't rent a car during my stay in the States, so I had to visit anywhere by myself, but the location was so perfect. Supermarkets and restaurants were close to the hotel and there were also several bus stops, so there was no need call Uber and I could save money. Also, the staff at the reception was super nice. Cleanliness, TV, and room lights didn't meet my expectations. As many say, it was not clean especially in the bathroom. I didn't care that much though because it was really short stay (2 nights) and I was out most of the time in the daytime . I couldn't watch TV programs first, so I tried to fix it by myself by putting some cables in and out, which finally worked. But sometimes the connection got lost, so I wasn't satisfied with TV service. Although there were some lights in the room, it was always a little bit dark inside. But again, remember, I didn't spend my time in the room well, so these points, aside from the cleanliness, were not big deal.

    Fixtures were old and in poor condition, sink faucet was rusted and almost detached. After I left, I noticed attempts at unauthorized charges on the card I used and upon looking at other reviews I discovered other people have had the same issue. I had to cancel my credit card and have a new one reissued.

    For a budget hotel this was actually pretty clean and impressive regarding the location especially since there’s a sprouts grocery store right across the street an awesome kebab place right across the street sushi bookstore dollar store CVS and In-N-Out a car wash pretty much anything and everything you would need. It’s a high traffic area and you’ll have to do a lot of U-turns if you drive but all in all it was budget friendly for what we needed. The breakfast was basically just waffles and cereal and some apple juice. The pool is nothing to write home about and you had a nice view of a dilapidated Caribbean restaurant that looks like it’s been through a hurricane, which could be a museum element. The beds were comfortable and clean the shower worked, and despite a little bit of a tricky check-in, the staff were on top of things.

    Property run down. Sign broken. Drawers without handles. Door does not open properly even saw neighbors having trouble. Paint peeling and various other things of building deteriorating. Broken washer. Room had an unpleasant smell. Breakfast had only a couple of cereals, waffle maker, and juice machine. Fridge was empty. For a place with big sign “free breakfast” this is not what is expected. Overall, shower and bed was fine and that was it. Not what one would expect from a Howard Johnson.

    Water could be hotter. Was lukewarm water in shower. No towels for pool. Never stayed at a hotel that didn't have linen available all hours. Had a time frame between 8am - 2pm to request linen, towels etc. Totally weird. Good luck if spill something and need linen at 7pm. Staff was friendly. Rooms need updating.

They said that the linen is only for the beds and if I was requesting that I should've said it in the booking. Night Staff was not nice or helpful. Thankfully we were only there for one night. Sketchy area but it's close to SeaWorld and close to shopping centers and restaurants.

    The check-in was not a good experience, I had booked a king bed & pull out couch. When I was setting up the pullout I realized there were no sheets/bedding so I went to ask for some and they said they had none that it's only for the beds. I said ok can I have some sheets for the bed and they said they had none that has to be ordered when initially booking the room 😂 wild! Thankfully the bed was big enough we all fit. Also there were roaches in the room🙀. The bathroom shower was leaking the whole time so that was annoying but also the walls are so thin literally heard our neighbor fighting all night so couldn't really sleep. Thankfully we only booked for 1 night

    Only 1 out of 3 rooms smelled like smoke. No issues other than the one-room smell. It was conveniently located near MCRD, not far at all. There are plenty of stores around to pick up anything you need. The rooms themselves were your general rooms, neat and clean. Several of the other reviews stated that the doors were stuck, but it was only because they were heavy, which I didn't have any issues with, and I am petite. Great for the price! They also accommodated a late checkout for my Marine to shower and change without a fee.

    The continental breakfast is no longer available- one of the reasons we had booked here. We were never notified of that change. Also is still being advertised on the main road sign . Had also requested a ground level room and roll away bed at the time of booking months prior (due to a mobility issue with a family member) We were told at check they would see if a ground level would be available. The basically refused and would not help at all - worst customer service. The pool is small and freezing - also when asked at front if there were towels available, the response was “I don’t know maybe some outside “. Room was out dated, bathroom did not look cleaned properly, stains on ceiling. Screw on the floor , large space under main door.

    Hotel itself was fine - staff was great. Parking was fine. My issue was with some of the guests at the hotel. They were very noisy - didn’t seem to care that they might be disrupting the sleep of other guests.

    After checking in, at the front desk there was a sign posted that they will no longer serve a full breakfast. There were no meats or eggs. On the 2nd day there was no hot water, they had to fix that the following day. Only one ice machine on the outside of the hotel under an awning.

    It’s okay for one night stay. Very close to Sea world though. Rooms are quite old building and as soon as we entered lights went off but thanks to staff they arranged other room quickly.

    The sheets were super wrinkly so I hope they at least washed them. The headboard were not only dusty but they had marks all over them like dried up crust. The light switches were filthy dirty. The walls in the bathroom had dirt all over them it was disgusting. Housekeeping needs to do better cleaning. On top of that a bunch of crackheads were surrounding the area, they checked in and had all the crackhead friends in the parking lot and room with their barking dogs.

    Staff were friendly room was clean . It’s affordable and convenient location we stayed there for a concert at pachenga arena and we were able to walk so that was very convenient . I also would say don’t set your expectations too high it’s a budget friendly option. I will say that there was a homeless person sleeping in the lobby lounge barefoot while guest were at the breakfast kinda crazy that was allowed to happen . Other than that everything was good .

    This hotel is conveniently near Sea World and was reasonably priced, however, the AC did not work, the windows only opened part way. It was the worst night of sleep in my life. Nothing could be done about it as it was sat night and the hotel was full. Next morning (sunday) we were moved to a different room with a working AC, but it was infested with flying ants in the bathroom. The breakfast area was super small, there was a crowd waiting to make waffles/ find a table. This is our second time at a Howard Johnson, and our last. You get what you pay for, I guess.

    paint on the door and walls chipping . dead bolt did not work screw was missing the latch was hanging by one screw .room smelled ,we had to go get fabreez to mask the odor. the lite hanging on the wall by the bed was about to fall off. shower was dirty. window screen was torn. couch was was uncomfortable and nasty. trash cigarette buts , and dirty diapers in the parking area

    Restroom was a bit dirty. Had to ask the front desk to help flush the toilet it wasn’t flushing. Bed had stains & holes. Sofa bed had a dirty corn nut and stains. Smell was bad on the sofa bed including the springs hurt bad.

    The internet didn’t work all 4 days/3 nights we were there. The first night, we couldn’t check in because theirs was down too. No biggie, we got keys and checked in the next day. Breakfast was decent and the cleaning lady was nice. Our keys didn’t work every night we came back to our room, so we always needed to get new keys. On the last night, we once again went to ask the night window for new keys. A night auditor walked up to the window and I told him “our keys haven’t worked every night we come back” and he took the keys and left to another room without a word. He came back to ask for my ID, which I didn’t have on me, so I gave him my name. He left and comes back with a new key and says “keep it away from metal, magnets..” and I told him we are aware and are really careful with them, but we are bummed they haven’t worked every night. He just repeated “well.. keep it away from metals.. magnets” without an ounce of customer service. At this point, I said “so, no ‘sorry for your inconvenience’” or ‘oh no, I’m sorry you had to walk here for a new key” or any sort of empathy? He just shrugged. Night staff literally doesn’t care.

    The rooms were dirty and in disrepair. The smell in the room was horrible. And the front door have a big gap at the bottom. Front desk was nice, but I think they knew about the conditions of the room. Have to book somewhere else last minute, was a little stressful to star out vacations that way.

    This place should be condemned. The room was nasty, the AC did not work when asked for a different room the receptionist was unable or unwillingly to help us. If it was not for refundable we would have left. The rooms were not cleaned, due to "ECO friendly policy". The photos were a cover for all of the falls. The keys deactivated numerous times. Do not stay here it is not worth the price nor illness that can be contracted from staying here.

    Door was in not good condition and was not opening or closing easily. One of the nights, there was a dog barking for a couple of hours. We notified staff and it took 3 hours to get the dog to stop barking. I didn't get a good night sleep that night. I will not stay at this hotel again

    Everything worked. Door was a little hard to use and latched pretty harsh but securely. Tub valve leaked very bad (at least 5 gals/hour) but it didn't bother me too bad and apparently didn't bother the staff because I told them about it and they were aware of it during my entire 3 day stay.

    The staff was very nice and welcoming. Our room was really dirty. The coffee pot has cobwebs in it and there was dust and dirt everywhere. There was also a chunk of hair in our closet. The room also had a musty smell that took awhile to get over. We were only there to sleep so it was ok for that I guess. We won't be back.

    Very old and outdated. The carpet was dirty. Walked in and smelled musty. The door knob was falling off and had a hard time opening the door. Key card stopped working and spent 20 minutes walking back and forth trying to get it resolved. Asked for towels and nobody showed up.

    Location of great. Close to everything. The place however needs major renovations. Walls had three different color paints over one another. Carpet had stains. Walls had stains. Shower handle was broken. AC unit smelled like urine. Pillows were lumpy. Breakfast was mediocre, basically cereals. Both toasters were unusable. The place has potential. Just needs some TLC

    The staff was kind, check in fast, and rooms were clean. The hotel definitely shows its age and could use some updates to replace worn carpet or the cabinet for the mini-fridge and microwave. The breakfast area was also much too small for the number of guests. So, I am glad we did not pay more for what we got, and I don't think we could spend much more than just one night. That said, the location was great! The room was clean and the price was excellent. I would stay here again for one night.

I booked here due to its proximity to Sea World, which we were visiting. I will never book at this place again and am telling everyone of my experience.

    Stayed three nights. Parties in neighboring rooms late into the night for two nights. Sketchy people vaping by the stairs so that my kids were too intimidated to go upstairs - we had to walk across to the other side to use a different stairwell. Most definitely NOT kid friendly. Oh and the air-conditioning/heating unit literally fell off the wall.
