waited an hour for management and still no show for assistance, no towels, floors were sticky, outlets didn’t work, bed covers were just sheets, pillows had stains on it. Easy accessible location to things. Only perks is the location

Roaches! Pool was closed. Breakfast was stale. Disgusting
- 1/5
Room was very dirty shower didn’t drain the ac unit was leaking in the room toilet paper holder not attached very disappointed!
- 3/5
The bedding was clean and the location was ideal for everything we had planned, having said that, HoJo’s is not what it used to be. I don’t even think they had anything to do with Howard Johnson’s besides the sign. There were guest banging on doors late at night, activity in the parking lot that was questionable. The rooms looked like they haven’t been wiped down in awhile. I’ve been in worse so things like this don’t really bother me. I’m just thankful there were no bed bugs and we had a place to stay.

Clean, super comfortable pillows and bed.

Definitely not a howard johnson.I would recommend. The room above us had someone screaming as if they're being beaten and brutally raped. Tried calling the office at three in the morning. No answer. There were people in the parking lot. In the wee hours and they looked very sketchy. We assumed they were gang and drug dealers. We stayed in 107 and we're positive that room 117 above us. Is where the screams are coming from.

The house keeper was pleasant. Check-in staff was pretty rude The room and property was not very clean. The property is in need of an extermination. Compared to other hotels nearby, this one seemed sketchy

It's been over a month and I have YET TO RECEIVE MY $100 deposit. I was told 10 days after check out.

Location Front desk person in charge Did not give the room as we requested
- 1/5
Six weeks to get my deposit back and I was told it was my fault because I extended my stay. There are a half a dozen other complaints. I have about my stay but I don’t have time to get into it right now. It’s a shame because the room was nice. I am local and I would have made this a regular spot but management ruined that for me.

The room was a mess. There was trash all over the place, door jam was broken and bed had all sorts of markings on the headboard. Overall a bad experience and don’t recommend this place.

Pool wasn't usable. Too, doors for rt ooms allowed loads of noise. Could add door edge guards and dtripping for noise cancelling.

- 2/5
The manager was so disrespectful and aweful to me during a difficult time that it ruined the entire point of the trip which was to relax during some injuries and migraine. I’m local and could easily have made this a regular spot because I liked the room but his lack of customer service skills and respect ruined that. I also never received my deposit back.
- 2/5
Parking was bad there was people making out in the parking and smoking weed the hotel did not have breakfast
- 2/5
We were given an occupied room, elevater did not work properly the buttons had to be pressed a certain way to get it moving and when we asked for a different room the attendant came up with us to make sure that the room had been unoccupied and clean and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience He said wow look at that wow Wow wow It's clean isn't it there was no need for the sarcasm it was late and we needed a place for 2 days not staying there no more
- 1/5
Stayed at the Howard Johnson last night and it was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. The room was dirty, the property looked poorly maintained, and customer service was terrible. It took over 20 minutes just to get someone to come downstairs and check us out. For a hotel, basic cleanliness and staff availability should not be this hard. Definitely would not stay here again.
- 2/5
Poorly kept and dirty. You get what you pay for.
- 3/5
It’s my personal quirk, I know, but I make it a strict rule to never leave a negative review. I know that people are doing their best and that their recourses are smaller every year. So I cut them some slack and hope that you do too
- 1/5
The worst night I ever spent.. no comment
- 3/5
Clean room, great staff, zero wifi, wifi doesn't connect, 2026 and no free wifi. Room and floor needed repairs. Shower had holes and rust.
- 5/5
No continental breakfast, but was advertised.
- 4/5
Nice clean room. Friendly staff easy check in, easy parking. Close to Old town and shopping mall.
- 2/5
Yes
- 2/5
The room was a coat of paint splashed over issues. Only sheets on the beds, our tv didn’t work and the whole building felt not put together. When we called to ask about our tv being broken they told us to wait until the morning there was nothing they could do. We only stayed one night and it was frustrating to not have any service at all.
- 1/5
The front desk male was rude. Will not return.
- 4/5
Professional...
- 2/5
First room I was place in was missing phone, door security, there was paint all over the bathroom like a kid was painting with color, the table was missing paint and colored all over with marker, the lamp had huge stains, the pool was very dirty, they say breakfast was offered, but all they had to offer were terrible coffee and a granola bar, there’s drug addicts in the parking lot trying to sell you stuff, the staff is never around. That second room I was placed in after complaining about the first one was ok, but only half the outlets worked the switches were sinking in to the wall. Smelled strong of bleach. There were multiple other customers complaining and checking out.
- 1/5
1. Roach infested - saw more than 30 roaches crawling on the floors and walls, bedroom area and bathroom. 2. The room smelled of very strong body odor. We used perfume to counter the smell as much as we could. 3. Old laminated flooring was heavy damaged with indentation into the floor. 4. No carpet, unlike most other hotels. 5. Hole and cracks in bathroom shower ceiling 6. It seems the room has not been cleaned properly for a while because the floor was a little sticky. The bedding was OK, made and washed sheets. We have had much better experience with other Howard Johnson hotels and were really surprised by the condition of this room. Thank Goodness we were only staying 1 night, otherwise we would have requested a room change.
- 2/5
The room we got here had sorry floors and the shower knob looked like it was about to break. The eds were so hard and pillows uncomfortable. Looked like everything on the outside needed to be power washed to get it to look decent. The WiFi was okay but not that good. You could here the outside noise very easily. Too many night and early morning people hanging around the property that we're not guest. This wasn't a good experience staying here
- 1/5
Very rude front desk and old amenities.
- 2/5
I stayed here last year and really liked the room, so I booked it again this year. This time I wasn't happy. First of all, when I arrived there was no one at the front desk to check me in. I rang the little bell a couple of times, then called the hotel phone number a few times, I just heard it ringing behind the desk. I waited at least 10 minutes for what I believe was the manager to finally come in, said he was "checking the rooms". This time around the room we got was run-down. I wouldn't say dirty, just looked old, like it's been lived in, scratched up headboard, etc. I asked if there was a better room, they said no. Then the AC/ heater unit wouldn't turn on, had to call for them to send someone. I mentioned the run-down condition of the room and how it's deteriorated since my previous stay. They confirmed the "government" put people in to live, which I'm assumingn some type of program for unhoused people. I'm not against that, but at least have designated rooms just for that, or fix it up after they move out. Another issue was when we came back early morning (2:30 am) after my boyfriend's show (he's a musician) , there was no parking spaces available, we had to circle around the parking lot of a few times, I called the hotel again a few times, no answer. After about 20 minutes someone miraculously pulled out of a space, so we took it. Finally, the door wouldn't open. I kept swiping the card, and the sensor lights would turn green, but it took a few tries before it opened.
- 1/5
First, we get there about 5 pm. The man working the counter was rude. He just kept tossing the papers at me to sign and initial. We did not feel welcome. We asked for the top floor so we didn’t have kids running above us. The room had cobwebs in the corners. The bathtub looked like it needed a good bleaching. Hair dye all over the chair and head board. Oh the cigarette smoke… when I told them I wasn’t paying for the smell, miraculously the smell went away. The beds had dips bigger than me in the middle of them. No blankets… 3 sheets on top of each other. And the breakfast, there is none. They are “in the process of looking for a new supplier”. All in all, if I could give them zero stars, I would. There are plenty of options in this area for a few dollars more and much nicer.
- 3/5
The area has alot of shady type people around. Inaide the room, it feels like a cell.
- 1/5
The room assigned to us was full of fumigation cans and cockroaches. We checked out immediately
- 3/5
This area is mild when it comes to safety. I would not be found walking around after sundown. As there is lots of homeless roaming about in the area. The hotel was fair and not
- 3/5
This property is near a highway, so there is some noise in the night. They charged a $100 deposit which was refunded a week later. The front desk had no person available in the evening at about 8pm, and I waited for a while until the person appeared. It is OK besides these.
- 2/5
It was ok
- 1/5
The worst hotel I have stayed, terrible, nightmare. Roaches , noises , fridge leaking. I couldn’t sleep at all , don’t recommend at all . And they wouldn’t give my deposit back. I had to call my bank
- 3/5
Everything was well, except the outside walk path is waving and we didn’t prefer it
- 3/5
Parking is easy. I didn't try the AC. Drinking water was not available in the fridge. toothbrush and toothpaste were also not provided.
- 3/5
Room was on the 4th floor , it was cleanish and quiet . Happy the AC worked really well . There was a half used bottle of body wash in the shower . Fan in the bathroom was extremely loud and would make popping sounds . I went to check out at 9 AM , sign said to use side window , no one was there and just left the key .
- 5/5
The guy working was nice and helpful but the condition of the property was terrible. Had we not gotten in super late and needed to leave early we would have switched hotels. The floors were dirty, the bathroom sink had a sticky residue with hair stuck in it and the same hair/residue was on a hangar in the closet. We did not feel safe in the location as a whole. We were placed above the office and I’m fairly certain rooms at the back were rented for drug use and prostitution
- 1/5
Horrible stay. Rooms are dirty. The door doesn’t work, front desk had to come open the door for me. There was a leak from the ceiling in the restroom door.
- 2/5

- 1/5
There was mold on the bathroom ceiling, my 1st TWO rooms were still not ready, even close to 5pm, the towels are paper thin and are the perfect size for a toddler, not an adult.
- 1/5
Horrible dirty run down hotel with roaches should not be listed here on H.com
- 2/5
Yes
- 1/5
Tweeters, drug dealing, prostitution, fighting in the middle of the night, roaches, and rude ass employees... That about sums it up. This place is a SH1T - HOLE.
- 4/5
For what I needed it for which was just 2 days for somewhere to sleep and decompress the facilities were ok. What made my time there exceptional was David at the front desk. From check in to a little WiFi hickup he was so helpful and professional and truly kind. I watched as he engaged others and how helpful and knowledgeable he was. David treated everyone with respect and the same care in an environment that you may not expect that type of customer service. So overall my time here was great.
- 3/5
convenient location
- 2/5
Not what was expected. Not handicapped accessable at all. Bathtub had cracks in the bottom, the drain for bathtub did not plug up.
- 1/5
Room was okay sketchy people wandering around.
- 4/5
it was comfortable.
- 5/5
Was a good stay
- 3/5
The had roaches! I only seen 4, so I didn't ask for another room. As I was checking in, two other girls were asking for their money back; so, I'm assuming that was their reasoning as well. Other than that, the room was ok.
- 1/5
The room appeared clean. But when I got up in middle of night to use the bathroom and turned on the light dozen of bugs went running. I checked out asking to cancel the second day of my reservation. I currently still have both nights charged along with deposit. Not sure if I will have to fight for the second night to be refunded or not yet. But for health reasons I recommend spending more money for a better place.
- 2/5
Checked in with a $100 deposit, no big deal as some hotels require a deposit when checking in. Went to or room and noticed holes in the ceiling, gap in the door jamb of the door with light coming through looked like the door had been damaged, stains on the headboard of the bed, table, door walls and there was a hole in the wall where the doorknob had previously hit the wall. The remote control for the TV was missing so I went to the front desk and let the attendant know and was told he would send maintenance up to the room. No one from maintenance ever came to the room, so we never turned the tv on. Wyndham needs to do a better job overseeing their franchises as this hotel is lacking in basic standards and customer service. We did video the room after we checked in and would be more than happy to share the video with Wyndham's corporate complaint Dept. I will not stay at this hotel when visiting San Diego again and will not recommend it to family or friends.
- 2/5
The hotel is very outdated. Only thing that are decent are the beds, floors and cleanliness of the room. The walk ways to the rooms are very narrow on the above floors and a bit scary to walk on if you’re afraid of heights. Closet rod was broken on one side. Toilet would only flush if you hold down the handle. Shower had low pressure. There was only one bath towel and one hand towel. Hotel staff was unfriendly. I thought hotels under Wyndham would be good. I guess not. I will not be staying at this Howard Johnson again.
- 1/5
I would never recommend this place for even a single night.
- 4/5
Good room
- 1/5
"I had a terrible stay at this hotel. The room was not properly cleaned—the bedsheets and pillows felt unwashed and used. To make matters worse, there was a strong smell of marijuana entering the room every night, making it very uncomfortable. The amenities were lacking: the refrigerator barely worked, and we were short on towels. The staff was unprofessional and unfriendly. When I tried to check out, there was no one at the desk to assist. I do not recommend this place to anyone."
- 2/5
Room was dirty and area felt unsafe
- 5/5
Nice clean room very comfortable
- 3/5
Good place for an overnighter
- 5/5
Staff was great!
- 3/5
It was OK. Nothing special, just a place to sleep. I was not happy to be charged a $100 deposit, in case I stole the sheets or something. As if! Nothing much within walking distance, so bring your own snacks.
- 2/5
Toilet was clogged. Front desk made me go to the front desk to get the plunger and did not bring it to my room. Once i arrived at the front desk the attendant informed me he did not have a plunger. Offered to change room but it was already late. Nobody ever at front desk, hard to get ahold of. Not very clean hotel, a lot of homeless in the area. Walked into the elevator to find an “attendant” standing there smoking a cigarette inside and asking me “what floor number”, not clear how to check out and drop off keys. Very bad stay, wont return.
- 1/5
Room itself was ok, beds were fine, however, the room was not cleaned well, it was disgusting. Our room wasn’t stocked of towels and when we called to get bath towels they didn’t have enough clean towels for our room. Property was trashed. We would not stay here again.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 2/5
first room we were given was occupied. second room given had a broken tv. stranger knocked on door and tried to open it during the middle of the night.
- 5/5
Parking was plenty with CCTV. It’s an older building like most in Hotel Circle, but our second-floor room was very clean. No insects, no odd smells, no issues. The sink, bathroom, and floors were spotless, even in corners. The room had a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker, clean towels, bright lighting, and a strong AC. The fridge freezer section needed defrosting, but it was clean. The floors had normal wear from luggage. The bed was firm, pillows were basic, and bedding was clean. There’s no closed closet, only an open hanging area. Outlets worked, though a couple were loose. We felt safe, and you can see your car from the room areas. Staff was kind and helpful. Check-in requires signing a few papers and a $100 deposit hold, which is standard and released after checkout if the room is left in good condition. Housekeeping refreshed the room on the second day with no problems. You will hear freeway noise, but that’s true for all Hotel Circle properties. It didn’t bother our sleep. Overall, clean room, safe area, good parking, and a great price for a holiday weekend. We would stay here again. It’s not fancy but it works.
- 5/5
Staff was nice as and pleasant

- 5/5
Great
- 1/5
Nonsmokers room smelled like smoke, couldnt check in for 10+ minutes because no one was there and there were no be back signs, looked a bit musty, freeway nearby is awesome but walking is terrible, and how can you advertise free internet when the speed is 5 mbps?
- 2/5
Yes ... Dirty floors
- 2/5
parking was good.
- 1/5
Lots of homeless walking around property. Needles and razor blades in the parking lot. Opened the room to check-in and several roaches were running around the floor so I immediately checked out and left
- 2/5
Guy at reception was terse. Just put a hold on my card for damages and told me there was no breakfast. Which was fine because I checked out at 5am. But, might want to take the breskfast timing signs in the elevator fown. Garbage in the parking area. Elevator wasn't operating in the morning, guessing for security reasons.
- 1/5
The bed was all dirty, the floor was disgusting and not to mention the bathroom and I found something extremely disgusting and when I told them at the reception they did nothing
- 3/5
.
- 2/5
This place is junk
- 4/5
Restroom floor was dusty it wasn’t mopped before our arrival
- 5/5
Great customer service at the front desk
- 1/5
Non responsive staff. Unclean rooms.
- 1/5
I went inside to check in but nobody was at the front desk. I waited and waited. Phone rang a couple times. Rang the bell a couple times. Yelled out hello. Finally, 7 mins later somebody came to assist me. Next morning I checked and again no is was there to assist me. I ended up leaving my key where it said to. Night window. This was around 8am. I replied back to a than you your visit text saying I left the key as asked so there’s record of me leaving it there. Waited almost 3 hours for confirmation so I ended up calling the property and he said oh I just now texted you back. I’ve been staying here for a few years now and never had I encountered this.
- 5/5
Easy parking and a quiet area.
- 3/5
i saw two roaches.
- 3/5
You don't stay here because you're looking for the best room in town. You stay here because it's cheap and near downtown. Perfectly fine for a solo trip, but probably not where I'd bring kids.
- 5/5
Nice quick stay
- 1/5
Not well kept up. Needs cleaning and updating.
- 4/5
Convenient parking and a reasonable price. Great place to rest and sleep.
- 4/5
Really decent place to stay when you still want to be able to stay close by to shopping and dining
- 4/5
Convenient location, clean, kindly personal. However, the Windham reward system is complete fake and misleading advertising.
- 1/5
I didn't stay. Sketch guests yelling at me before I even made it to my room. I left immediately and booked at another hotel.
- 1/5
Dirty, and old with to many bugs running around. Terrible
- 1/5
Just a dirty looking hotel
- 2/5
I did not like the uncleanliness of the room. Some pillows had stains, the room showed physical damages. Overall the room was dirty.
- 2/5
It needs so TLC. Bathroom was a mess….Shower didn’t drain. Roller barely flushed. Hair dryer didn’t work.
- 1/5
Threatened to cancel my room if I didn’t arrive by 11:30 PM - which I have never experienced before. Floor had reddish brown spatter and a sticker on it. Wall had rust colored spatter on it. Headboards dirty and had a cigar sized hole out of it. No functioning ice machine. Everything was such a disaster in the room and check in that I barely noticed the freeway noises outside with the homeless person and street walker. I wish this was satire, but it unfortunately was not.
- 5/5
Customer service
- 4/5
Great place to stay for quick trips. Easily accessible to the 8 freeway.
- 1/5
Booked a room for one night, paid my $100 deposit fee which should’ve been reimbursed, but they took my $100. We did no damages to the room at all. Staff taking advantage because we are a young couple. Don’t recommend booking this place.
- 1/5
As a direct result of this stay i will never stay at another Howard Johnsons again... Dont ever atay here... dont ever stay here... Dont ever atay here... dont ever stay here
- 1/5
Dirty. Smelly. Bad service. Bad mattress. Bad shower (water pressure, cleanliness, smelly, loud fan.) the AC air smells moldy. Can hear noise from neighboring rooms. Tv didn’t work. Towels and sheets not clean upon arrival. Room key didn’t work initially.
- 4/5
The hotel check-in was easy. The staff was nice. The room was clean and updated. The only issue that I had was the bathroom. There was leftover body soap and shampoo still in the shower other than that everything was good..
- 4/5
Unfortunately, whatever box spring that they used for the bed needed to be replaced because you could hear a little twang of the metal spring when you would shift your position on the bed. The TV had a little flicker on my first day there, but on the second day, the screen went blank in the middle of a show. Luckily I had my laptop to stream on. But all in all, besides these issues, I would not mind staying here again since it is a convenient place to be in with all the options for restaurants, shopping, and whatever special event in San Diego you might want to stay for.
- 3/5
Room is clean and smell ok.
- 3/5
Overall not too bad for the price. The room was old and it showed. There was tape marks on some of the floor boards. The tub was scary, probably calcium build up but looked very dirty. The table and toilet seat cover had burn marks! Which was strange. But the location was convenient, easy in and out, for one night, it was ok. I just needed a place to sleep and the bed was comfortable.
- 3/5
The room was but it was close to the freeway so we could hear the traffic throughout the night. The water temperature for the shower was really low, almost cold at times.
- 4/5
My overnight stay was comfortable. I checked out at 7am on July 20, 2025, the only thing that I didn't like, I wasn't provided with a receipt of my stay, and had to call the gentleman through the night window. He just took my key cards, and I asked is there anything else? He said no. I wasn't told when my $100 deposit was going to be returned to me. Other than that, my stay was good.
- 1/5
The walkways and our room floor is VERY uneven. Not sure if foundation is secure. No phone. Wi-Fi didn’t work. AC and lights all unplugged. Our pillows were the size of a couch throw pillow. Not enough towels…room had two bath towels and one washcloth. The seal on the door broke, so light came through the door. Toilet stained black. Floor was dirty and in bad shape.
- 1/5
We asked the manager to check our ac and he did and said it was working it wasn’t we had to open the window it was very humid I’d like a refund
- 4/5
Safe stay
- 3/5
Bed was comfortable but pillows were crap. Construction going on made it a bit distracting. Exterior of the hotel reminded me of an hourly rate motel. Will not be staying there again
- 1/5
The elevator safety certificate expired in 2022. I found a long dark hair in the sink and a large alligator hair clip in the shower from a previous guest. There was also a strange piece of molding taped down to the floor meant to bridge the gap between the grey faux wood flooring and the linoleum in the sink area. Signs around the property mention breakfast being served in the morning, but I was told at check in that there is no breakfast. Property neglect at the highest level.
- 2/5
Not great stay
- 2/5
It was listed as a hotel but it was a motel. We had to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs because of construction. There was mould on the wall behind the toilet. The traffic noise was terrible coming through the gaps around the door and through the windows and the walls. The concrete walkway to our room was not level.
- 3/5
Last minute booking- not my first choice by any means. VERY old hotel, zero amenities, horrible towels. Conveniently located near everything we wanted to do but would never stay here again.
- 1/5
Like staying at faulty towers , dirty , noisy , other people’s rubbish left in room
- 1/5
We are so unhappy about this place. We had traveled from Texas so we were to exhausted to cause a fuss. But i did let the guy know that the floors were nasty, mind you it was not carpet. I told the guy it needed to be swept and moped. He looks at me as if i sooke another language. So i repeatedly saod the floor needs to be moppes i have 2 small children. He said ok and left. He comes back with a bath mat. Again i said no the floor is dirty! He then says oh, um i dont have a mop and the maids arent here. (Hand on face) he said i can have them mop tomorrow. We shower and proceed to go to a graduation. Both my kids and my feet were dirty from walking on the floor. Im already heated. I go down to tell them again , before we leave. To come back to it still not clean. We couldn't leave caise we had 2 more days paid for. Here is the better not so better ending. The remote and my babies pacie fall behind the bed. My husband's moves the bed to find a ball gage. Now im supper pissed. Yes i went and to look for the manager, to where they were nowhere to befound. So the next morning i went about 6 or 7 am because it was time tp leave. AGAIN stoll no one to be found, i had to call the emergency nunber tjat was left in the night window. He come like 15 mins later. When i told him what we found. He immediately try to offer another night or free points. To which i wasnt given the full as promised. I told him he needed to retrain his ladies to clean better.
- 4/5
It was a good bargain for the price. It wasn’t the hotel of our dreams but the room was clean and comfortable.

The room was great. It was comfortable. It was very clean. Very nice. We forgot to ask about a floor room on the app making the reservation, but when we asked at the front desk, there was not a problem at all. He said absolutely and gave us a bottom floor. He was very nice.

It's a small Howard Johnsons and everything inside is clean and new!

Wanted to stay close to airport.

I really like the layout of the room and the cool lighting. The staff was super friendly. But unfortunately the place was a little disappointing. The TV's remote didnt fully work. We were unable to get the HDMI comnected and then the tvs quality decreased make it extremely hard to watch the TV. Stayed friday to Saturday and was woken up at 730am/8am due to the construction happening. I wish i had at least made known when i checked in that there would be LOUD construction happening outside.
- 1/5
The room was quite dirty when we arrived. Dirt and crumbs all over the floor, and even a dirty rag left on the floor. I immediately went to the front desk and they guy came and looked and said because our bags were in the room, we had “used the room” and he couldn’t do anything at all. No moving rooms, no discount, but didn’t even offer for it to be cleaned! Left the dirty rag, all the crumbs, and basically told us off. Then, they started doing construction outside our room at 7:30am. No warning that any construction would be taking place. Worst stay ever.

The room was clean bed comfortable it says breakfast included but they won't serve it anymore they need to update the information we also asked for extra blanket and they say that it's only one blanket for room other than that it was good

The service was very friendly. The condition of the hotel was old but they did try as far as effort in making it nice. It smelled old and the outside and environment was pretty run down. I don’t want to be fully negative though because there was definitely an effort made inside the room and it was clean overall as far as the linens and housekeeping. The neighborhood for sure had a definite sketchy feel for example lots of people just outside and wandering, caged in and broken bending machines etc. I was only there by myself on business so it was a place to sleep for me and that was what I needed. Would I want to bring my wife and kids? No. But if you want an affordable room that’s midpoint this is a decent choice.

Within minutes my socks were filthy black. Ruined 3 pairs just in walking around my room. Just a filthy room. Water for a shower never got hot just warm. Will not recommend

Started with charging my card, when ad simply says will not charge, got there the attendant was to happy to swipe and forgot to take cash as agreed upon on the website.pay at hotel cash, second got inside room and bathroom light not working, and flushed toilet once and then it's stopped working, had to go back down to first floor office before the ten minute time to complaint. my room was on the fourth floor overall, only was there for eight hours and pleasantly quiet and manager got on the problem reasonable time.very convenient.besides the mishaps.7/10 would be 10/10 if those issues not existent. Thanks

No one at service desk, had to call a number to talk to someone, they put my deposit through credit card, now it posted exchanged from can dollars to US dollars with the exchange fee. Why not just pre authorize then hold till check out then cancel like everyone else for Pete’s sake. Now I have to wait for a refund that will probably cost me more money with exchange rates and fees. Not happy with poor customer service
- 4/5
Nice mid-century modern aesthetic in the rooms very 1960s Howard Johnson’s
- 5/5
Customer service was good, only thing is I asked was there a deposit an was no.. then I arrive an there was a hundred dollars an I asked was pets allowed an I was told yes. .. I arrive an was told No pets allowed.. which was very inconvenient an caused a delay.. then I get to the room at 3am An My Keys don't work which I had to wait 30min to finally get another key

This place was cheap very dirty things in the room were broken and not fixed. Flooring was old and cracked/chipped. Really small bath towels. Bed sucked. The heater made loud noises. Over all dirty but very cheap.

Were do i start, and the pool is full of lamp shades (where there day one, and then day three when we left). We saw homeless people washing up in the pool the second day, told the woman cleaning rooms either didnt care or didnt understand me and just noded and smiled. Said has a breakfast but is down the room is for down for maintenance. I ask a lady who did speak English and she didnt know how long its been down but she said "awhile" laughing and cheerful. So glad two of the offers part of the room was not available. Over all would never stay here again.

It is a clean comfortable place to stay. It was a last minute stay for me and it was great for the price.
- 2/5
Lobby smelled. Clerks didn’t know how to credit taxes via tax exemption paperwork. Unable to switch credit cards on check in. Blow dryer wasn’t functional. The tv glowed in the dark even when off.
- 5/5
Had a good night
- 3/5
I did not enjoy receiving a call at 3am to ask if we were the ones making noise. I was looking forward ti my slumber after a long drive and the random wake up call accusing us of being loud really ruined it for me. Need to get a refund
- 3/5
In the bathroom there was leak and it is going to explode and cause more damage and the door wouldnt close unless you locked it. Also it was dirty.

Nice stay for our quick trip! :)

I went up to the window to ask if they had any rooms available the parking lot had 2 cars in it on both side total. The front desk quoted me $95 I was thrown back a bit I said okay I’ll book it through Expedia it was $68 total. So again mind you no body is staying here my first room I go to I can’t get in as someone opened the curtain it was already occupied. Second room I can’t throw the dead bolt it’s broken and missing . Ac didn’t work went back to the window the front desk guy was no where to be found 40 min later he showed up. The elevator broke with me in it would not go from the second floor to ground. I had a luggage cart with all my belongings on it I had to now leave on the 2nd and carry my stuff down the stairs. I’am handicap with rods holding my hips to my back so now I’m in pain and pissed . My third room looks like it was kicked in the door would barely shut and again had a problem locking it. At this point I’m furious. The front desk attendant acted as if he could care less said that was the last room. There was no one there . I made it work it was now 11 and I had traveled all day. I get up the next morning took shower go to blow dry my hair their blow dryer wasn’t working I pull out mine and find the outlet was not working. I tried everything to reset it but it didn’t work. I can’t believe they didn’t even offer to refund me. The worst experience.

Floors were dirty. The wall had a booger on it. The toilet didn’t stop making weird noises all night. The bed sheets were dirty. The heater didn’t work. The front door didn’t seal fully. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom. The light fixture in the bathroom was being held up by tape.
- 4/5
It was fine, basic hotel. Clean enough, nothing special.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in San Diego. It was so bad I was up at 3 AM trying to get a hold of someone to change rooms but couldn’t reach anyone. The room was smelly and dirty. The towels had dirt on them. But the worst part was the smell. All three of us woke up with sinus issues because of it. I’m very disappointed in hotels.com and the Howard Johnson in Hotel Circle because no one has got back to me. I would really like a refund but I doubt I’ll get one at this point.

I had to ajust the toilet to allow it to flush

It was fairly comfortable

Website advertised free breakfast and they do not offer that. I would have booked else where if I had known that. Will not recommend.
- 5/5
The staff was very accommodating and kind. They exceeded my expectations and did so with a smile! The price was fair and the location is great! Would definitely recommend
- 1/5
Room smelled like stale cigarette smoke and other foul smells. Continental breakfast was cereal or bread. Door was hard to open. Headboard stained and scratched.
- 2/5
I was surprised when i got to this hotel. The parking lot was full of people playing loud music the AC was very loud, the shower kept getting clogged and took forever to drain. Some of the towels were dirty and the TV controller did not work. If it wasnt because it was late in the evening that I showed up, I would have went elsewhere. Definitely not coming back here.
- 2/5
For the price we paid all the above! We paid $260ish USD.. 5 days later paid $229 at a Hotel much much nicer.. Sheets were clean but stained, Bed had scratches all in the headbaord, table had stains all over it...I don't recommend unless it's 1/3 the cost and no expectations:(
- 4/5
The room floor could have been a little cleaner, lots of dust
- 4/5
The hotel was certainly older but it had been renovated recently. The fridge and microwave was a huge plus.
- 4/5
The hotel room was decent, clean and suited my needs. It’s an older hotel, had a muggy/damp smell, AC didn’t circulate well; but overall it was good
- 2/5
Convenient location easy access to shops and highways
- 3/5
Disliked: floor boards coming up, very awkward parking, room smelled strongly of bleach when I entered, the backboard on the bed was…dirty? Scratched up? Not sure what was going on…

Weird rooms.

Check in was super fast

Bathroom drain was clogged, and the upper level walkways were falling apart and definitely didn’t look safe. The furniture in the room was also falling apart and was tattered in places. The door and window had both seen better days and the security lock looked like someone had kicked the door in.
- 3/5
Good price but you get what you paid for. Guy at the front desk was not helpful or friendly, very poor customer service skills. He was definitely making others uncomfortable with his demeanor.

Headboards are filthy and no blankets half the stuff in the room dnt work customer service is horrible

Property was in disrepair. Elevator did not work, ice machine did not work, toilet seat hinge in room was broken - all appeared to have been broken for a while. "Breakfast" was toast and dry cereal, juice machine was broken. The room was clean, but property was in bad shape. Desk attendant wanted to discuss politics, which was inappropriate.

I reserved 2 rooms. Both rooms where filthy! Smelled horrible. We checked in and checked out probably 30 minutes later. For as long as it took to find another hotel. It was disgusting!! I want a refund!!
- 2/5
On a good note, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked.
- 1/5
This place is horrible. I wish I had read the reviews. It's filthy. Hair and dirt all over the floor. The head board was completely damaged and it would look better if it was not even there. The bathroom door was hard to close. The light switch was broken. Obviously, with all the previous reviews of needing maintenance and updates they don't care.
- 1/5
The headboard had fingernail scratches and the re were stains on the sheets
- 3/5
Few Items in the room need to fix.
- 2/5
The floors were dirty I took off my socks and the bottom of them looked like I was walking around out in the parking lot the remote didn’t work
- 2/5
Stayed here for work checked in at night our room didn’t have any towels called front desk they told me none would be available untill next day @8pm. I had to air dry that night. Next to my bed there was empty beer bottle. Shower had a bunch of hair. Breakfast is nothing but cereal and bread. Our room door had a big gap up top almost like someone had broke it down before. If you like staying at ghetto hotels this is your place

Great stay. Quiet
- 3/5
the price i paid should have complementary water slippers, toiletries.
- 5/5
It was nice and comfortable the only thing I was surprised was when I walked in the room the beds were made and white but the white sheets had spots of yellow like it was not washed good. New sheets if you can’t get stains out
- 3/5
Room was updated but property is a bit run down
- 1/5
Upon arrival the front desk attendant was polite. But once in the room it smelled like marijuana and cat urine and there was burn holes in the bed. All in all, I would not stay here again even though the price was decent.
- 1/5
Not in a good location. First room they gave me was already occupied. The faucet for the tub quit working my last night there.
