The hotel is generally praised for its location, cleanliness, and breakfast. However, many guests express dissatisfaction with the expensive and inconvenient valet parking, as well as various issues with the rooms and facilities.

At the front desk, Mia was absolutely amazing! She check us in and out. She was very helpful and kind . Not having an option to park your own car and having to pay for valet is frustrating, especially when you are budgeting.

Staff and manager are rude. And they charge so much even . Suggest never say in this hotel. am writing to formally express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent stay at your hotel and to request a full refund for the amount charged. This was, without question, one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever encountered. The level of service, professionalism, and customer care demonstrated by the hotel management was far below any reasonable hospitality standard. From the moment I arrived, the experience was disappointing. The check-in process was unnecessarily difficult, and the staff appeared uninterested in assisting guests. Instead of receiving a warm welcome, I was met with an unprofessional attitude and a lack of courtesy. The front desk personnel seemed irritated whenever I asked basic questions regarding the property, amenities, and policies. As a paying guest, I expected respectful and professional treatment, but unfortunately, that was not the case. The condition of the accommodation itself was also unsatisfactory. The room did not meet the standards that were advertised at the time of booking. Several aspects of the room appeared poorly maintained, and it was evident that guest comfort was not a priority. Rather than feeling relaxed and welcomed, I immediately felt frustrated and concerned about the quality of my stay. What made the situation significantly worse was

Good clean space and location was great for our trip as all was in walking distance. Facilities Were great and staff was very nice and helpful. Did not know of the parking on site was not free and $60 a night was really a downer. Wished they added a notice for this as I had planned for a deposit fee but this was not one I anticipated. A little more open forum would have been great but valet was nice and did there job exceptionally.

After struggling initially to get answers, I spoke with Assistant Manager Thalia, who immediately reassured me she would personally conduct a full investigation and do everything possible to help. A few days later, she called back with the amazing news that they had found every single item. I honestly became emotional hearing that, as some of those items meant a great deal to me personally. To make things even more impressive, Thalia insisted on covering the shipping costs to return everything to me. Her professionalism, compassion, and dedication completely turned a stressful situation into an unforgettable example of outstanding hospitality. My wife and I are beyond grateful. Thank you again, Thalia, for truly going above and beyond.

Great location, very close to the harbor and convenient access to the waterfront. Breakfast was decent, and the hotel was generally clean. We booked a harbor view room, but the view was blocked by nearby buildings. The heated pool was cold in the morning. Valet parking was overpriced and inconvenient, and front desk staff were not helpful when we raised concerns.

Loved walking distance to restaurants, and the water. Our family stayed 2 nights over the kids spring break in April 2026. The room carpet had an 8 inch length by 1 inch width cut in the carpet in the bedroom by the door and closetand wearing heels can cause a person to trip. There was no vent in the restroom. No door to separate toilet from rest of the bathroom. So if a family wants to brush their teeth, wash their face, etc the whole bathroom is occupied by the person using the toilet. Really bad set-up. There is No pool as advertised. The hotel is going through renovation as I was told on the second day we stayed and my kids wanted to gonswimming. That should have been mentioned upon check-in. Majority of house keeping didn't understand English in the house keeping dept. When asked for extra towels by passing by housekeeping cart, because we didnt have time to call housekeeping on first day, so we had to call housekeeping hours later when we were back in the room. No worker in passing understand English when we asked where something was located. Didn't like that we were told ,if we wanted to go swimming, we had to walk 1 to 2 blocks to another hotel that was allowing and had an agreement from homewood Suites to the neighboring hotel to go swimming. Or that they could call another hotel to allow us to swim with our hotel key. I can see why booking.com had this hotel and room for $700 for a two night stay. Get what you pay for. Before we were were told the pool was closed down, my kids and I went walking through the hotel to find it ourselves. Asking workers in passing several didn't understand English. We finally found a construction worker that thought we wanted the gym and showed us that they converted a hotel room into a gym. That was somewhat nice. We passed more construction going on looking for the pool only to find more construction going on. The site does not have self parking. Only Valet at $60 a day, $15 if you're visiting for a while and leaving.

The room was spacious and slept 5 comfortably. Amenities worked, fridge, microwave, iron, TV's. We didn't use the room coffee pot. Shower worked well. The free breakfast was decent. Sausage patties, fluffy eggs, cereal, oatmeal, flour tortilla and spicy tinga, toast, bagels, Danish, home potato. Beautiful hotel entryway and breakfast area inside and out. Bayside restaurant was decent Beautiful restaurant setting. Kids loved seeing the airplanes fly so low over the hotel to the airport thats 5min away from hotel. They were able to see cruise ships docked on the water, like the Disney cruise ship. Loved walking distance to restaurants, and the water. I asked for the managers information and was given her card which I then emailed Nina the next day in regards to possibly a refund and booking somewhere else. She never bothered to return my email (it’s now been a week, no response). We had to ask to have our room cleaned and for more towels as no one came the first 2 days. I would never stay here again. The manager is apparently worthless.

My only complaint. Was the sleeping accommodations. The beds were beyond uncomfortable. The couch was old and dated, and the pullout bed was horrible. There were five of us in a suite. Not one of us had a good night sleep the entire three days we were there. Two people opted to sleep on the floor instead of the bed. It was very disappointing.

Great location, close to Little Italy and bay said. Stuff was very friendly, helpful and professional. Breakfast was decent. Housekeeping lady was very nice ,you can request fresh towels, extra bed sheets or whatever you run out of in the room, she will get for you. Carpet in room needs deep cleaning! It was extremely dirty. Pool was under construction. They allowed you to use pool in nearby hotel.

Great, attentive staff. Convenient location to many local attractions. Nice room with extra space. Great breakfast. What was not so great: 1) we wanted to use the hot tub, but the water was murky…so yeah. 2) The valet parking for $60 and no self-parking option is not so great. The valet drivers did a great job, but next time I will probably choose a hotel with a self-parking option. 3) We had a room on the 2nd floor, some of the odd numbered rooms have a window facing the train track and though it’s not as loud as cargo trains, for light sleepers it can be disruptive.

Attractive hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and quiet. We loved that breakfast was included and offered both hot and cold items. It was a very family friendly hotel in a good location. The pull out couch bed was uneven and pretty uncomfortable. Extra bed linens not in the room for pull out couch, room needed some minor repairs such as crack/dent in kitchen tile, TP roll loose in wall.

It’s right off the water front and two minute walk into the little Italy neighborhood/gaslamp district. It’s a beautiful building with excellent restaurant attached. The valet were awesome and there was a good convenience bar for late nights. We got an interior room that was so quiet and cozy with a kitchen and ceiling fans. It was a quick stay but we’re going back for a weekend. The room was a bit dated. Probably could use some updating.

They over sold the rooms and didn’t have our room available for the first night. Placed us in a really dirty room with furniture in bad repair. Never contacted us for the replacement room like they said they would. The breakfast is really lacking. The pool was not clean. The laundry machine charged my credit card several times for faulty machine, no way to get credit.

Lovely stay in October. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Room was good. My only complaint - having someone knocking at my door at 10.30 on the day of leaving to say - are you going soon? Still left a tip, but bit of a tarnish on a nice week. Pool area needs a lick of paint and the heating was not on - 24degs outside, so not a major issue.

Kitchen only has 2 pans if you are lucky and 2 sets of utensils. No basics are included to cook with. No oil, no salt, no pepper. Paper towels are supplied and 1 pod for the dishwasher the entire stay. Breakfast ends at 9am and you are not allowed to take it back to your room. There’s a lady in particular that watched like a hawk if you try to take anything back. Pool is not heated and is outdoors. There is nice a covered patio area by the pool. The bar and restaurant was closed our entire one week stay. They had a Barbie pop up in place of the bar/restaurant with inflated prices and limited hours. There are no bell boys to help with luggage or carts. People seem to take them and keep them in their rooms so you have to roam the halls to find if you are lucky. No self parking and valet is $60 a day. Wasn’t worth it for us, we won’t be back.

I booked a room with a view, but all I can see is the building in front of the room. I went to the reception to ask for another room with a better view, but the lady at the reception wasn’t polite and told me, “This is the view,” and that they didn’t have any other rooms available. There is some parking on the street because their parking is expensive. They also don’t have many options for breakfast.

We had to pay $60 a night for parking. We were not aware of this until we showed up at the hotel. Our bed was uncomfortable and the pull out matress was worse. The lock to our bathroom was broken. We didnt realize breakfast ends at 9am during the week so missed out on that on Friday. It would be nice for the front desk to mention this upon check in. The biggest problem for us is paying $120 for parking.

It was a good hotel to stay at for Legoland and Balboa Park activities. The daily breakfast was very good saved us time from having to go out and eat. The kitchen on the room was amazing. The only thing I had a problem is entering our room and looking at a bottle cap at the side of the bed, first impressions are important. Staff answered our questions and helped out. It is Valet parking ONLY.

we were disappointed that the hotel only offers valet parking, which is very expensive. Having no self-parking option was inconvenient, and we believe this is an area that should be improved to better accommodate guests.”

The furniture in the room was old. Plastic framing on the tv was falling off. The faux leather on the ottoman was flaking off. The address surrounding the pool has tile and is VERY slippery. Suggest your kids wear shoes. There was a Barbie cafe pop-up that took over their restaurant when we were there. We got sat at a table, no one came to take our order so we left. It was also extremely warm in there. I would have preferred to have been able to have cocktails and tapas at their regular restaurant.

The okay: breakfast. While any place that includes breakfast should be celebrated, and this breakfast was also delicious. So why is this only in the food? Because we stayed for four days and it was the same everyday. A little variation would have been nice. While the inside dining area was kept clean, the outdoor was ignored by the staff and was filthy. Luckily it was cleaned before the evening. While the staff was friendly, they definitely gave us wrong information multiple times and one cost me a $45 Uber ride. The remote in our room was broke so we asked the front desk staff for help and they said they would send someone right, no one ever showed. We fixed it ourselves. The bad: the restaurant on site! It was awful. First, it was Barbie theme. Now, I loved that movie as much as any red blooded hetero sexual male, but the restaurant was too much. That much pink gave me a headache. Plus, we were told there would be a restaurant on site, but it was closed for private events two of the four days we were there. It was also overpriced with not a great selection of options. Luckily there are great restaurants within walking distance. While our room was clean, there were many broke or run down with age. Our conditioner never was filled and was empty the whole time. I packed my own but my wife complained several times. No, she did not call the front desk for it to be refilled.

Our stay was nice but…the room was supposed to sleep six, but our couch was a small couch that did NOT fold out to a bed. We also had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper and to have our trash taken out on day three because no one came to clean prior to that. We loved the breakfast and the lobby staff and the location of hotel.

Loved staying here! Close to everything. So many amenities and 10 minutes to airport. Little Italy is right around the corner. Love that they had ping pong and foosball, right next to a beautiful fire pit. Little store available in hotel and right next to gas station. Hotel had everything and the staff was on point. ONLY thing was their elevator was out, so 6 floors waited on 1 elevator. Took some time; not end of world. The TV’s had your name waiting on the screens for when you walked in, & their setup for 2 queen beds was amazing loved everything! Will visit again very soon. Also 5 minutes to petco park!!

Wonderful facility. Little Italy up the street and a nice view of the water close by. Breakfast included which was also a good perk. Place is also kid friendly they have a pool along with ping pong table and foosball table at the breakfast area. Only down part of the trip is parking is across the street so you are left ti decide to park yourself and walk to the hotel or you resort to using valet

Hotel was fine but most of the gals at the front desk were not friendly or helpful. Rodolfo was the only one that seemed to like his job. I specifically wanted a suite with a door to the bedroom and a desk and didn't get either even tho the room description said I should have both. Breakfast staff was friendly and the pool was good.
- 5/5
Only thing that sucks but it is the same at most hotels in SD is parking $60 a night.
- 3/5
The breakfast is pretty good, there's a decent variety including breakfast tacos, chia, and non dairy options. The 60 dollar a night valet parking is not worth it. If you rent a car, park around the corner in a public lot and save at least half the money. Location is nice, close to the Midway. Laundry: watch your stuff lest you find it missing. Little Italy has a lot to eat but not a lot to do. Our room was spacious but they put us on the stairwell and all night long folks were running marathons up and down. Not recommended if you're a light or even anything but the deepest of sleepers. The Barbie restaurant is annoying. 60 more bucks to even get a ticket. No thank you.

I returned to #3103, and soon two maintenance guys came and helped to open the door. They said to us, “The door is good, but your card keys have problems, so ask at the front desk to get new ones”. We entered the room, and the tv screen showed, “Welcome TODD”. Neither of us is TODD. Before going to dinner, we stopped by the front desk to get new key cards. The receptionist gave us the new card keys, and we went dinner outside. After dinner, we came back to #3103, and the card keys didn’t work again. We returned the front desk, but this time the receptionist who gave us the card keys wasn’t there. We explained the situation to another receptionist, and he looked at the computer and told us, “You haven’t checked in yet!!” What??? We went back and forth three times, and finally we were able to open the door by ourselves. 2. We made the reservation for a “Harbor View” room. The room #3103 was too low to see the harbor. We saw a big white building and some palm trees. Was our room in another room, because “TODD” should have stayed in the room? We were wondering where our room was. Anyway, we already went back and forth to the front desk three times and we gave up t

Mold on the ceiling of the bathroom, had to ask for more towels even though we booked a room for 5 people, noisy kids in the room above us, and missing chairs so 2 of us had to share an ottoman. We complained about all of these things but there were no other rooms available that would accommodate all of us. They did comp our parking fees but still a pretty bad experience.
- 1/5
Upon checking in the room was not as clean as it should be for guests. The mirror was smudged and dirty. I also found another persons colored hair in the tissue box. Don’t even get me started with the shower and toilet seat. The shower head had green molding and crust which is so unsanitary. Just like the toilet seat had black marks on it. Along with the hair we found on the floor the train passing by all night didn’t allow for any rest. The breakfast did have some options when we stopped by before checking out but not worth the hotel price per night. We booked for two nights and could not stay because of everything especially the noise.

I was given a room that doesn't accommodate the number of people we have because the sofa bed that was in that room was broken. Was told that I would be compensated for our parking that day as no other rooms were available and that I could change rooms for our 2nd night stay. I tried to change rooms just now and was told we would still have our 8 year old sleep on the regular sofa "unless you would rather have the broken sofa bed" because I was supposed to have come to change rooms between 6-11am. Finally a manager was able to compensate both nights of parking but honestly very unimpressed with the hotel, my room (all furniture was worn and ugly, bed very uncomfortable), the lack of compassion by both front desk employees. I will be staying somewhere else in the future.
- 1/5
On arrival we were checked into room 660 where we had booked a king size room with pull out sofa bed. While in the room we noticed the doors for bathroom and closet were missing so privacy was not possible. The ac unit was making a loud grinding noise while blowing warm air. We also noticed that the privacy blinds on one side was missing. We contacted the front who sent maintenance for the issues. While we waited our son located womens eyelashes on the floor and not knowing what they were stuck them to his facr. The carpets were filthy and needed cleaning. Maintenance advised the doors were missing because they has been damaged from a previous guest and were on order so they did not have replacements. He attempted to fix the ac but it did not cool down. Housekeeping arrived with a vacuum and gave it to us so that we could clean the carpets ourseves. When I advised her we were bot cleaning the room ourselves after having paid 3500 for the week due to comicon she did it herself. I was now thinking this experience couldnt be real sp we asked for a change of rooms but were advised there were no other rooms available due to the hotel being sold out. The worst part was when we turned down the pull out sofa for our 7 year old to sleep on and discovered the mattress had a large stain of dried blood and urine that had soaked all the way the way to the metal frame below. Photos taken and management contacted. Do not book this hotel. It is a complete dump.

Beds were comfy, restroom was dirty, there was food left in fridge, the carpet had a dirty smell to it, restroom did not have good ventilation. Breakfast included and had good variety, coffee was good. lobby was nice and clean

It right by the sea. Lots of areas to explore within the hotel. However parking is only Valet and it’s pricey. Room customer service is very poor. I had to go to the front desk twice to get towels because no one came to the room with it.

Suite-type hotel near the airport and cruise terminal. Airplanes and trains able to be heard. Walkable area with restaurants nearby but sketchy area north of hotel. Nice breakfast included. $60 a day valet parking fee. Light switch broke in the room and maintenance replaced it within 10 minutes!
- 3/5
When I used orbitz to plan this trip, I asked for free parking, free breakfast and also with a pool. However, I know how is CA and the higher prices but $60 for parking per date I believe it was outrageous....I hope I can have my money back since the hotel charged for 1 day. we were able to find a less expensive rate very close to our hotel.
- 5/5
It was easy in and easy out. We explored some of Little Italy and had some great food at Queensland, amazing gelato at Bobboi and wonderful ice cream at another spot.
- 4/5
• Excellent location — within walking distance to several attractions. • Beautiful harbor view from the room. • Spacious room. • Breakfast was tasty with a good variety of options. Cons: • The pool is just okay — shallow (around 3 feet) and not very large. • Housekeeping is only provided every other day unless you specifically request it daily. • Breakfast menu doesn’t change much, so it can get repetitive if you’re staying several days. • Valet parking is extremely expensive — we opted for a nearby public lot at less than half the cost.
- 1/5
It was a spacious room. My kids enjoyed it, however my wife stepped on a staple gun nail sticking out of the carpet. She was limping the whole trip. The carpenter came in and pulled it out. We would never expect this to happen. Safety hazard! I’m so glad it was not any of my young kids. I even went down and talked to front desk. They said they couldn’t do anything because it was fully booked. Staff didn’t apologize or try to make anything better. They made me feel like I was lying about the whole thing. He even talked to the carpenter. Anyone that had stepped on a nail would know the pain. I should’ve took a picture of the staple nail. A beautiful place but sad to say, I would not stay here again.

Horrible service
- 2/5
Room not ready at promised time. When we did get our keys, they were to a room that was already occupied. Ended up settling for a room that did not have the amenities we wanted for our kids.

Excellent property in prime location!
- 2/5
Our room was barely ready on time. Bathroom seemed to have a leak but there was no other room to switch over and we couldn't use bathroom fpr over an hour.

Great location and good breakfast! They can improve a bit on housekeeping and cleanliness!
- 5/5
Did not like the mandatory parking fee.
- 4/5
Only Valet parking for additional payment.

We had a suite with 2 bathrooms, one had a very smelly sink and the other one a clogged toilet. The staff was very helpful, but these issues were annoying
- 2/5
Beds were terrible. No self parking available.
- 4/5
The property was spacious and provided games for the kids, I like that it is family friendly.
- 4/5
I appreciated the ease of having the cooking area as well as plates and utensils to use. I also really enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet. This is advertised as a pet friendly hotel and there is no courtyard area to allow the animals to use the bathroom.
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
Mold near tub water fixture and dusty ceiling fans. Other than that good property for families.
- 3/5
They wanted to get money from guests as much as possible by forcing value parking only.
- 4/5
No self parking. Great location however! Very nice hotel.
- 5/5
Only downside is the air conditioning unit is really loud, and a few areas like carpet and countertops showed some wear.
- 3/5
Room was big but a bit shabby. You must pay to valet, no self parking. There are many hotels nearer to restaurants, within walking distance to fun. This is one is on a busy corner with nothing but a gas station near by. No ocean view. It was clean. Breakfast was good. But I wouldn’t select this place again.
- 5/5
Amazing service! Went for the Rock n Roll marathon weekend and our room, the service and everything was beyond perfect.
- 4/5
Only one star less because the rooms are slightly showing their age (torn leather high top chairs in rooms), but this didn’t affect us adversely. There is a little light on the headboard of each bed that is on the side which doesn’t have the main lamp, which was nice. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion dispensers are included, which was a nice touch. A couple of the containers were empty, but when we alerted the front desk, they were filled immediately - thank you! We would recommend this hotel to others. It’s in a great location and within walking distance to Little Italy, the USS Midway and the nautical museum. It’s also not far from Petco stadium and Balboa Park. It’s literally 2 miles away from the airport.
- 2/5
Also something really bad about the hotel , they charge you $ 60 for the night , I forgot a detail , about the receptionists , they won't ask you how was your stay, In short it is not worth it at all , it gives a cheap motel vibes that wants to gain a Michelin star It doesn't deserve the Hilton name next to it ,
- 5/5
Good location, clean hotel
- 1/5
The front desk not helpful, they just look at me when I ask them some question.
- 5/5
Perfect place, perfect location
- 4/5
Overall good. Just a couple things that could be improved: Air conditioner was so loud and there’s no way to reduce it. We were told that most rooms are like that so no point to change room. If you are concerned on this noise, this is not a place for you. It was very hard to stay in the seating area with the noise. We got the studio with 2 queen beds. If you stay in your bed area, noise is not too much but you can still hear it. Then, laundry situation: you need to install an app to pay for the washer dryer and we did not want to install an app as apps are typically collecting personal data. Breakfast is okay, but if you stay there more than 2 days, you will feel disgusted with the same breakfast every day. We stayed for 7 days and towards the 4th days, it was pretty much no appetite for the breakfast. It would have been better to alternate every other day different menu. 1 staff at the check in was not friendly when we asked where is the breakfast area.
- 5/5
The hotel is in great condition and is located in a great area. Very spacious room. When we got in our room we notywr were across from the tracks and very close to the airport and planes flew directly over the hotel. We were worried about the noise, but the room was super quiet.
- 5/5
Homewood suites was in a great location. Little Italy was a short walk away with tons of restaurants to choose from. We were really happy with the layout of our room for our family. Thank you Homewood Suites!!

Great location by the waterfront bay, downtown, and airport San Diego. Front desk staffs are charming and welcoming. Suite room is suites accommodating with roomy space of kitchen, full refrigerator, dish washer, microwave, coffee, and sink. Very pleased with staying here
- 4/5
Overall our stay here was very good. The room was a good size and clean. While you could hear the airplanes (being very close to the airport) if was not terribly noticeable inside the room with the AC running. The water pressure was high and we loved it. My hubby didn’t like when it suddenly went freezing cold on him, though it only happened one time during our stay. My biggest complaint was the bed and pillows. The bed was hard as a rock and gave me hip pains. While the pillows with soft as can be with no support at all. Had the bed been at least comfortable the pillows could be overlooked, but together it made for an VERY uncomfortable sleep. I would have given 5 stars if not for that.

We were here for 5 nights. Everything from check in, , room service and cleanliness’s, Break fast was very nice. For vegetarian, there was only potato wedges compared to scrambled eggs, Meat and chicken for non-vegetarian’s
