Best hotel on this road! Many choices but this one was less than 20 minutes from a lot of tourist things to do in San Diego. Breakfast was a plus every morning!

Great hotel if you're looking for a quick stay, clean and well maintained and they included surprisingly good breakfast choices. The area is a little weird, but it's very drivable to a lot of san Diego spots, just minuets from the zoo, seaworld, balboa park, Coronado etc.

One area that could be improved is customer service consistency. On one occasion, while purchasing snacks, the front desk staff did not acknowledge us and seemed unfriendly. Parking was somewhat limited, and additional parking spaces would be beneficial. The surrounding neighborhood was a bit rough, but the hotel itself felt clean and secure. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the cleanliness and updated appearance of the property.

The whole visit was for my graduation from San Diego State and every aspect of my stay was EXCEPTIONAL!!!!

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The room was super clean, the beds were really comfortable, and the bathrooms were nice too. Friendly staff. We loved the free breakfast and the wi-fi, plus the pool table was a fun bonus! I also appreciated the work stations, and my son had a blast at the pool, although we both wished it was a bit bigger. Overall, it was a great experience. Walked over to Raising canes right across and had late dinner in the lobby. We found perfect parking, but when we returned from an event, there was no parking available on a Friday night. The valet staff were very helpful, though.

Overall, our stay was good; however, we had a couple of issues took away from the perfect stay. Checked in: flawless. Front desk staff: great. (Although I missed parking was $25 when I booked. A little steep!) We stepped into a beautifully clean room. After getting changed, we left for a while, when we returned, WHAT A MESS the parking lot was! Cars were everywhere; no parking spots & cars were double parked in the road. 15 mins later, I finally was able to talk to the valet, who informed me we would have to get turned around and park behind a row of cars for now, and he would double park it later. After a multi-point turn around, I finally made it. 25 mins after arriving at the hotel, we finally were able to get to our room. I had my 7-year-old granddaughter with me, who was so tired, I would have liked to use that 25 mins getting her in bed! We slept well, in a most comfortable bed. When we went down to breakfast...to a line that took over 25 mins to get to the food; which was very sparce by then. The kitchen staff brought out 1 pan of eggs, no meat, & informed the rest of us, which were still quite a few, that breakfast closed at 10, and no more food was coming out except for 6 cups of batter for waffles. I chose to not get food for me and let the mothers with children behind me to have what was remaining. The way that the staff spoke was so disappointing. It was obvious that the kitchen/dining area, much like the parking lot, are too small for the number of rooms.

Upon arrival we immediately noticed facilities for scantily clad dancers and our morning exit included traversing the one way road blocked by four cop cars.

The room was cleaned well. The staff was very nice and friendly especially Hugo. The breakfast was also good and well maintained, as well as the pool and gym area. The only downside that I can state was that the towels frequently had old stains in them and the twenty five dollar a night parking fee was disappointing. But other wise I had a very good experience and stay.

They were extremely accommodating in every way. I will return. They are my favorite now. Oh, being on the first floor & near the outside doors, they were a bit loud when closing. People just let them slam. I know you need th make sure they close completely. So, I don't really care about the doors.

Good value for money

The property and room were clean. They charge you $25 for on site parking once you get there and then tell you there aren't many guests with vehicles that night so it shouldn't fill up. We were lucky to even find a spot that night. The hotel can also be a little tricky to get into as it is right off a major freeway and has a small entry lot. The location is also near 2 strip clubs if that is a concern. They also charge a $75 refundable deposit for the night. The elevator takes an excessive amount of time to open which is only an issue if you are not staying on the first floor or don't want to take the stairs which are hard to locate. Not many ammenities offered which are disappointing for the price point. The pool did appear to be used by many guests though. The breakfast buffet in the morning was good. Overall not a bad stay, just wish they offered more for the price that you pay or at least include parking in the price.

All the facilities looks brand new. Size of the room is decent. The construction quality is poor, you can hear footsteps from upstairs and chatter on the hallway through the door. Highly recommend those who mind noises ask for top floor room. We stuck in the 1st floor and complained every night and morning, staffs are all indifferent by saying rooms are fully booked. On the last night, a kind gentleman Hugo was kind enough to offer us to move to a top floor room even though his colleagues one hour ago claimed fully booked rooms, he even offered us free water as an apology for the experience, he saved the whole experience at this hotel.

It was a good stay. I wasn't too impressed with the breakfast selections, but it was free and we were traveling with kids, so it made it super convenient to have breakfast with them in the morning. It was clean and the staff were quick with bringing extra towels/ washcloths. The location wasn't the best since it's just an awkward turn off the freeway. There's really only two ways to access the property. Maps will tell you otherwise, but there is no entrance behind the hotel, it's a storage facility back there. Aside from the that, it was a good family hotel. The body and hair products smelled amazing. The conditioner specifically made my curly hair really soft.

What a clean, modern hotel with such friendly staff! The facilities are excellent and the property is beautiful. We especially appreciated having coffee and tea available throughout the day. Breakfast was very complete for an American hotel, we loved making fresh waffles and the bacon was delicious! There were also great options for our baby, including plain boiled eggs, fruit, and oatmeal. The entire staff, from the front desk to the valets and housekeeping were all extremely welcoming and kind. The location is also fantastic, with great restaurants nearby, which was perfect for dinners out! Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect!

Stayed as a family of 4 with two young children. Pool was clean, room was clean, we were able to spend some time at the outdoor play area where you can play connect four, play on the grass and do other things. Disappointed that the seating outside was cloth, an abundance of dog hair, chairs smelled foul, lots of poop on the grass from dogs. I understand pets are allowed but maybe they should have a separate area to toilet.

The hotel was very nice, clean, nice updates but the location not so much. On the website said it was soundproofing but that wasn’t the case. There’s a night/strip club near the hotel with loud music. You have to pay $25 parking per night. The hotel is near seaworld, little Italy and other attractions. Which why we booked it’s also is a high traffic area. So you can hear cars passing by all night.

We had an excellent stay. Property was well maintained, rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was good. The only thing that may be a little better is the parking does fill up but staff were very accommodating and would park car if needed. Would definitely return when back in the area.

Location why is the hotel sits right at the end of the freeway exit which might inconvenient on paper in reality it’s anything but making a right turn into the property feels unnecessarily dangerous to the traffic flow of visibility to add to that the hotel is located next to a strip club called Expose, which may not be ideal depending on the type of state you’re planning special for families of those expecting a more relaxed, family, friendly environment near Seaworld. Went inside things didn’t improve much the room initially look modern enough, and the bed appeared new, but looks to be deceiving the mattress feel thin and unsupportive almost like sleeping on a pullout couch cushion, and every small movement came with the squeak for a brand that usually delivers on comfort this was a letdown, especially for travelers who rely on a good nights rest. The bathroom design introduced another unexpected frustration. The lighting is set on a motion sensor, which might sound energy efficient, but in practice it’s for the implemented while soaking in the bath tub. The lights would shut off another after just a few minutes of inactivity leaving you in

Issues: First time the hotel charges account including incidentals before guests arrive to actually check in and before even the check in time. If guests wish to use a different account hotel will reverse the charges however charge the new account ( so be ready for double charges). After the first day the main elevator is out of service, second day second elevator is out of service , stair ways have key access on both ends and potentially can lock in guests without a key, also access sensors were that good. Hotel had a single (very slow) working elevator for a not so busy 3floor hotel for an entire weekend. Guests would have to hike the entire hotel length to get an elevator or potentially get locked out in stairways. The pool temperature was too high , muggy. Hot tub oven didn’t work. Pros: Generally clean hotel and rooms. Breakfast was a plus but menu/items are the same for 3 days in a row with sometimes fewer items. Location:. Location is ok within the vicinity of Sea World, though the block it is in is further and not as clean as some of the closer hotels to Sea World. The hotel does have a potential to have a very good rating on Expedia/Kayak etc but with issues, maintenance and location. It’s ok to good at best.

Coffee was extremely fresh made and delicious. This is the place to stay if you’re visiting SeaWorld or surrounding areas. The only thing is that you gotta pay for parking space $25 bucks, but other than that super quiet area.

The room was on the first floor and at times was quite noisey. People in the parking lot talk right by our window, as well as people in the lobby interrupted our sleep.

Every thing was great and supper clean well managed. Only hiccup was at check out, the staff member assisting at the time of check out- he did not want to process my check out and said that me dropping my room key in the box was good enough and that they don’t issue receipts.

Our main concern was noise. We could clearly hear footsteps from the room above, as well as significant noise from neighboring rooms. We also noticed that doors opening and closing throughout the floor were quite loud. We really wanted to give a fully glowing review, but the thin walls and overall noise level could be an issue, especially for light sleepers.

The hotel itself was fine. If you picked it up and put it somewhere else it was have been great. The room size was large and the breakfast was nice. The neighborhood on the other hand was not great. The Nextdoor neighbor is a strip club. We got gas around the corner and the amount of unhoused people was astounding. We live in San Francisco so we are not country bumpkins. We were traveling with 3 children and it wasn’t fun having to explain what an all nude review was to them.I definitely wish I had done some more research before booking.

This hotel was a solid choice! It’s clear it was recently renovated and the renovations are nice, just an older building. The breakfast was actually really good! They have waffle stations and muffins with sausage, bacon, and eggs. Pretty decent! The only criticisms I would have is the water temperature of the shower was not quite warm enough and the hallways are a bit crowded at times. But we had a really nice time!

Check in was good no problem at all. After checking in we decide to grab a coffee. When we got the coffee the cups did not seem very strong. When we were going back to the room my daughters cup started bending and making the hot coffee fall on her hand. I asked for a clean up and some ointment for the burn. Never did staff do anything to help us in that area. Then the sofa bed did not have clean sheets. I asked for them and it took them over 2 hours to get them to us until I let them know it was 9 and my daughter was tired

We generally stay at Hampton Inn when we travel. Our room was clean and comfortable. Could use more available plug in space.

Clean spacious room with small kitchenette. Everything we needed for family of 4. Conveniently located next to freeway access. Not really a walkable area but there’s a Canes right next door. And everything else you can drive to in a few minutes. Free breakfast is actually a real complete breakfast with cold and hot items. Gym, pool, and free coffee and tea all day.

My only issue was we were not told it was $25 a night parking and the area doesn't seem the best area.

Overall, excellent choice for a hotel stay. The staff is friendly, and our room was cleaned everyday. The breakfast is decent and the hotel is clean. The location of the hotel is pretty good as well. It is minutes from Mission Beach and Sea World. Close to shopping and a few fast food restaurants. The reason for 4 stars is only because parking is not included with the room. It is $25/day. In my opinion, there is no good reason to charge for parking in their own lot.

The location is not a great neighborhood for walking, but it's just a few blocks from lots of good restaurants and stores -- Target, two groceries, a Walgreens, etc. And a block from the freeway if you have places to get to! The room was clean, the housekeeping services good, and the hot tub was lovely. I'd definitely stay there again.

Super clean hotel, great comfortable rooms and great location close to everything. They have a pretty decent breakfast selection included in the price or the room, parking is an extra $25 a night but other than that no complaints. I would definitely stay here again if I return to San Diego at some point.

This property was centrally located to everything. The staff were accommodating and pleasant and it was extremely clean. The pool was heated which was a nice surprise. We will definitely stay at this location every time we come to San Diego

Everything was good overall. Parking is affordable compared to other hotels. I loved that they offer a simple hot breakfast buffet; however, the breakfast area is very small and the lines get quite long, so we usually took our food back to our room to eat. One downside was that the elevator near our room was broken, so we had to use the stairs. On a positive note, the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, which made our stay pleasant.

Excellent customer service, super clean hotel, and quite close to the airport and other places in San Diego. The breakfast is good, the cafeteria is a little small for the number of rooms and it gets quite crowded. But the comfort of the rooms and the cleanliness deserve 5 stars.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the amenities were good, including the well-appointed fitness room, and the room was ample, clean and in good condition. The reason for the three star rating is the bait-and-switch surprise added charge of $25/day parking fee. I’ll not be staying at this hotel again.

The buffet breakfast was lacking milk alternatives. There were no toppings for the oatmeal like fruit, nuts, or brown sugar.

Great stay. But I booked on Expedia and never said anything about parking fee. I checked in and the lady at the front desk never said any thing about a parking fee. I didn’t notice tell I got my deposit back and it wasn’t the full deposit back. I called and it was explained to me. I’m handicap parking still has to pay. Pay to park is already crazy if I’m staring at the hotel. SMH.

Rooms are spacious, hotel is small which is good! Guests have been nice and helpful. There is an adult business close by which was a shocker and maybe a little unpleasant ti be so close to. I know you can't help it sometimes, but the front desk employee was sick and coughing when we checked in. Also, they overlooked me for a while and didn't acknowledge me because they thought I was with the person in front of us even though we were never standing with them.

I loved the room itself as it had all the amenities we needed, the beds were comfortable, and everything was clean. Unfortunately, our stay was overshadowed by being placed beneath extremely noisy guests for the entire duration. I requested a room change but was told the hotel was “sold out.” I ended up filing a complaint every night, which is something I’ve never had to do before. This was honestly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and I travel and stay in hotels often. While I understand that the rude and inconsiderate behavior of other guests wasn’t entirely the hotel’s fault, nothing was done to address the issue or make the situation right. No resolution was ever offered. I highly recommend reserving on the highest level floor if you’d like to get a good nights sleep or watch tv and actually be able to hear it.

Bed frame was broken and mattress kept falling through. When I notified front desk, they said it would get fixed during the day while I was gone and when I came back, it wasn’t fixed. Layed slanted and dipped in bed for 2 days which lead to lack of sleep. Terrible experience.

Property was in a decent location to see seaworld and the zoo. Plus its close to the airport as well and downtown area is around 10 minute drive. 5-10 minutes walk you have lots of food options and seemed like a decently safe area. Its busy area with lots of cars so we didn't feel unsafe walking around. The breakfast included was decent and had a good variety. The hotel has been updated in the last few years and its clean. There was noise though that you can hear in the hallways ect. No water or anything in the room. You have to pay for it if not at breakfast. Also no safe in the room. Overall a decent budget place to stay if you dont want to spend a ton but still want a decent hotel

I had a great stay here! The hotel was very clean and conveniently located near plenty of restaurants. The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly, polite, and professional. It’s not within walking distance to the Marine base, so you’ll need to take an Uber, but that wasn’t a problem at all. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this hotel to others!

Room was clean! Beds where great. Accommodated 4 adults well and the couch was a pull out bed Incase we needed more room. Also the hotel being a 7min walk to the Soma venue was a plus! Also the raising Cane's right in front.

The hotel property was great, despite being next to a highway the noise was not an issue what so ever. The hotel next door was rundown and obviously was used for prostitution. Wouldn’t be my first choice to stay at if we ever returned to SD. Staff was friendly, rooms and amenities were clean. Parking was limited.

Didn’t mention that my deposit was going to be taken away from me for parking, was told at the counter when I arrived that I would be paying an extra 75$ for my stay due to the parking. They told me they would only charge me for 3 nights max and the rest was comped how ever, they ended up charging me for four nights worth of parking. Not the end of the world but definitely sucks going on a trip and wasting an extra $75 you weren’t planning on spending.

Overall had a great stay! The location was local to everything we wanted to see and do, the brand new Raising Canes directly across the street was great to grab a bite to eat as well as some snacks, drinks, and frozen foods/treats right next to the front desk as well. The last night of our stay I planned on doing laundry and the laundry room was shut down (it had been open during the rest of our stay, but was shut down that last day for an unknown reason) and I really wish there had been a tub for my kiddo! The pool is heated and there are towels in the pool area although those seemed to go much quicker than they were being restocked. I loved that the breakfast buffet had lots of variety and was well stocked throughout the morning!

Our room was everything we needed for the night and the staff accommodated my partner and I beyond our expectations. If we return to the area, we would happily stay again!

The staff was rude, unhelpful and disrespectful. The room was clean and tidy but it lacked the amenities that were promised like Netflix and bathroom utilities (slippers, toothpaste etc). There wasn't even drinking water in the room or nearby. The staff laughingly says to buy it. The breakfast was oka, but pointing to the staff that the hot water in the flask is cold, she just shrugged it off with a thanks without filling it or helping me. Overall a disappointment and would never go back there nor would I recommend. I wanted to cancel after the first day but that was also a misrepresentation on their description on Expedia. I couldn't cancel or change at all because I had paid in advance. I would like my money back from Expedia for boosting this service.

If I could give 0 stars I would! First of all, they charged me twice!!! I booked the hotel through Hotels.com for my sister who was visiting from Mexico. But when she got there they said she had to give a deposit, so she did. Second of all, their staff is beyond rude and unprofessional. My nephew is an autistic boy so he can be loud and playful sometimes, the manager told my sister her son wasn’t allow to be around the lobby and hallways so it was best to keep him inside the room. Third, they couldn’t sleep at all. Their room was next to the laundry room and so there was so much noise, my sister went to the office at 2am to let them know the situation, they said they couldn’t do anything about it. In addition, at the end of her stay, she went to return the key and they charged her again for the room. This is beyond upsetting. Best believe I’ll seek legal matters into this due to discrimination.
