Reviews
The Embassy Suites in La Jolla offers a pleasant and comfortable stay with spacious, clean suites, excellent service, and a convenient location. The complimentary breakfast is a highlight for many guests, but the parking fee and limited parking space are common complaints.
- Spacious and clean suites
- Excellent service
- Parking fee and limited space
- Long lines and crowding at breakfast
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay here. We usually have complaints about hotels but I don't think we have a single one. Our kids loved the koi pond and feeding the fish in the mornings. The food was good and staff was friendly. Everything was clean. We enjoyed the cocktail hour. We did order from the restaurant one night and while the food was good, it was $30 for a very tiny portion of meat and some polenta. That was disappointing. The pool and hot tub were great and overall it was a very nice experience.
- 5/5
Gret buffet breakfast. Paid parking but free EV charging
- 4/5
It’s time to update the sofas as they’re worn out
- 1/5
Was a great place to stay, but this time the room is not cleaned
- 3/5
Our room has cockroach. Also, making sure your bed is queen or full size before you book. I made a reservation with "multiple beds" room, and assumed it's all queen beds. End up was full beds(double). Also, all suite rooms style has a queen sofa bed. You just need to look for the type of main room.
- 5/5
very nice would highly recommend
- 2/5
Included breakfast was not good, furniture is not as in the pictures, theyre old and really beat up, shower curtain was extremely dirty, shower tub was basically black from use and dirt.. not a great experience.
- 5/5
Clean quiet room
- 4/5
Otherwise, had a nice stay in hotel and the area.
- 1/5
This hotel was the worst nightmare ever. The minute you walk in there all rude and treating you awful. Pool side was out of control. Since my arrival I called from desk to advise the shower wasn't working. They never fixed it nor switched me to a different room with a working shower. Operator decided not to answer my calls therefore I went to front desk 5 times to check status on if the bathroom was ever going to work. I wasn't able to shower nor get a.c to work. Furniture is old and full of fleas and carpet bad smell.
- 4/5
Parking was hard, too tight for big vehicles like vans. Not enough carts to use for luggage. Breakfast was 8/10.
- 5/5
Great location and very comfortable and spacious hotel room
- 5/5
Happy Hour was especially excellent
- 2/5
We had multiple complaints from the bathroom ceiling leaking to the staff not responding to requests to clean the room. Staff should be more responsive and attentive to its customers
- 4/5
Location is convenient
- 3/5
The furniture in the room was worn down the $46 for parking after you already paid for room is crazy … guest should get free parking with room key in my opinion … also while using the pool there where no towels available for guests for a good while overall it was ok the service in the front desk was good made check in and out a breeze
- 4.5/5
Older hotel however beautiful Lobby. Staff was very nice and welcoming. This may be nit-picking but for the money charged per night, the sofa in room 517 could be updated with one that isn't worn out.
- 5/5
Room big and beautiful and very good breakfast
- 5/5
Stayed here for one night with our dogs, the room was very spacious and clean, very easy to go outside to a grassy area next to the hotel for the dogs to use the bathroom. Very clean and easy check in/out process. We'd stay again.
- 4/5
Staff was really nice. Super helpful and welcoming
- 3/5
By 4pm we were leaving to get something to eat, when I noticed people are getting their rooms. When I went to ask about our room, they were checking me in all over again and they did not apologize for the mistake trying to justify the previous employee The manager was so rude which I am not used to from Hilton, he went to say that he went to look for me by the pool area which is an indoor pool and I was there for 2 hours, and he never showed up. When I sent a complaint all I received was a snack tray no one called to acknowledge the situation and how the manager handled it. I have been going there yearly for 3 years. I think its time to change.
- 1/5
The first room we got to was disgusting. The carpet was filthy. I took photos. I didn't wanna put my bags down so they switched us to another room saying it was an upgrade because it had a Keurig. I would never stay in this hotel if you paid me again, there was black hair on the bathroom and we're all blonde. The outside of the carpet was disgusting of the room. The room felt so dirty housekeeping was mean and there was no hot water will never return.

The elevators kept breaking down.
- 2.5/5
I've been coming to this hotel for more than 4 years and it's always been very good. Customer service and room service and food service. This time around, there was a lot of activity the week that we stood here in the hotel. There was probably a tournament for kids soccer or some kind of sport. I didn't like the fact that there was kids running around knocking at my door and hiding. Me and my family couldn't enjoy being in the pool or in the jacuzzi. I didn't enjoy half of the time that I was there.
- 5/5
EXCELLENT!
- 2/5
Proximity to Westfield is it’s only redeeming feature
- 4/5
Check in was smooth. Breakfast was great. The staff in the kitchen including the staff that was cleaning up the tables were all very helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
The only negative would be the cost to park at the hotel was $46 for the night. Perhaps it was just our room but the mini fridge didn’t keep food cold. We had food for the next day in it and it spoiled.

- 5/5
Very convenient location in San Diego for business! Lots of dining options within walking distance!
- 4.5/5
Busy streets are nearby and a little noisy
- 5/5
The furniture in the suites need to be updated. The couches were worn down.maybe add a mini firdge as well.
- 4/5
The pull out couch bed was the worse!!!!! Lots of hidden and parking fees
- 4/5
Great pool. Great location. AC fan way too loud . Carpet needs updating
- 2/5
So like I said, the location was perfect. Across from that fabulous Westfield UTC mall and close to a whole bunch of companies. I had to stay here for a few days as I was moving out of my house in a nearby neighborhood. But otherwise, NEVER again.
- 3/5
Love breakfast
- 5/5
The price for 1 night.
- 5/5
Fish feeding
- 3/5
The facility was clean, couch displayed vinyl tears and the sleeper couch springs were defective.
- 5/5
It worked well for what we needed!
- 5/5
I didnt get a chance to visit the hot tib
- 5/5
We will definitely book here again.
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Staff deserves a 6 out of 5!
- 3/5
Room out dated furniture ripped and ragged. Breakfast was good.
- 2/5
The lobby area is nice but the hotel is rather old. We had a suite with one king bed/room and a living room with a pull-out sofa bed. The pull-out sofa bed was absolutely awful, springs sticking up throughout the mattress. Housekeeping wasn't great. The "destination charge" didn't really allow for much to spend on, since what was available was sparse (basically chips and water) and very expensive. Next time we'll look for a vrbo or airbnb. Would not recommend.
- 4/5
All the room furniture was worn and peeling. It took a few hours for housekeeping to respond for an extra blanket. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, and kept available and coming.
- 4/5
Great staff. Nice perk to let you shop with “free” money at the snack shop. Very dated interiors I room. Some of the worst toilet paper known to man. Loved the free EV charger.
- 5/5
The bathtub caulk needs to be removed and replaced. Some mold in caulk, could cause a water issue.
- 5/5
Very nice place and location The staff were the best !!!!
- 5/5
yes excellent
- 4.5/5
Lobby is great, nice breakfast & clean overall
- 0.5/5
Hotel was outdated, room was not cleaned, bathroom moldy. They now charge a resort fee which is ridiculous for what you get. Security told me rooms were being updated then the receptionist said she didn’t know of any renovations going on currently.
- 4/5
Overpriced, especially in terms of the parking and overall room charges.
- 1/5
Beds and dated appearance of the hotel
- 5/5
Check in was insanity. Only 2 front desk people at 4pm check in time caused a line out the door. At one point an additional staff member came in and then left. Furthermore, there's not enough parking space with the restaurant and the renatl car place all in the same area so blocking off 2 entire sections for charter buses and still charging $40 to park is a bit ridiculous. The hotel itself is alway on point but lack of staff and the ridiculous parking space with such a hefty fee needs some improvement
- 5/5
Breakfast buffet was incredible, though the line for the made-to-order omelets was always long. The room was excellent and clean and they provided a good crib for my baby. Overall excellent experience and would come back here again.
- 5/5
Great hotel, very clean and comfortable. Would recommend.
- 3/5
The room smelled almost like smoke, the roof had water stains and the bathroom wasn’t ideal. Definitely an older hotel but has a slight charm. The center communal space is great an is what makes this hotel alright.
- 3/5
Breakfast was great.

- 5/5
Clean room, great staff. Food in restaurant was really good. Use your $20 credit on this!
- 2/5
Our room did not get serviced the first two days, had to ask the front desk to send up towels. Serviced the next day, no coffee service. Then another day no service. We were there five days. Also, we have a handicap sticker and parked in the handicap spots, but were still charged $42 per day for parking. It my understanding that in California if you have a handicap sticker you are not charged for parking. The front desk just said no, we charge for parking. Would not stay at this hotel again in the future.
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
Beautiful view, very clean, love their breakfast options
- 3.5/5
Staff! Also location There was no microwave or fridge as described
- 5/5
Breakfast was great!
- 4/5
Location, breakfast included They charge for handicap parking
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Very clean and comfortable. I liked that it was next to an upscale outdoor mall. 10/10
- 3/5
Ready at check in time was told they’d call no one did Any Husband had to ask another attendant We were short change on information regarding breakfast times etc
- 5/5
Great stay as always, Embassy Suites! Wonderful cooks at the breakfast buffet. They really know their stuff when it comes to eggs. Cleaning crew was on top of everything as usual. And I cant forget to thank the front desk, so very welcoming.
- 3/5
Staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating!!
- 5/5
Breakfast was delicious. Staff courteous. Laundry was helpful.
- 5/5
Breakfast was just ok but everything else was great
- 4/5
However, this one was somewhat disappointing. The biggest concern was the breakfast on our first morning, I saw a roach in the muffins, which completely turned me off from eating there for the rest of our stay. There were also a few maintenance and upkeep issues. The washing machines on our floor were not working, and we had to go down multiple floors just to dry towels, which was inconvenient. Additionally, there was a small hole in the couch, and the patio furniture showed noticeable wear and tear and could use updating. Overall, while the stay was okay, these issues made it fall short of what we typically expect from Embassy Suites, especially for the price.
- 3/5
System was down so we couldn’t check in. The pool is clean and not overly crowded. The breakfast was excellent.
- 3/5
Breakfast potatoes were inedible very hard. Staff not as friendly as first time we stayed. Parking very expensive per night. Slight mold in restroom walls and shower.
- 3/5
Breakfast was good. Room service was hard to order on the app. No breakfast for room service. But complimentary breakfast was very good.
- 4.5/5
The customer service was excellent. The room were bug which my kids and myself liked. Everything from the room the the entire hotel was clean! Pillows were by far the worst I’ve ever slept on during any hotel stay and beds not that comfortable!
- 5/5
Loved the water station. Hot tub was good temp. Breakfast was delicious! We especially enjoyed the manager’s special. The staff were accommodating and so friendly. My only complaint is the near constant presence of people trying to trick us into a time share.
- 1/5
The hotel room was not clean-the toilet and sink were still dirty from the previous guest. But the staff at the hotel are very kind and this is the best free hotel breakfast I’ve had.
- 3/5
Material on chairs and couches were wirn
- 2/5
Check in process was slow and such a hassle
- 5/5
Breakfast was yummy, staff was courteous. Rooms were clean. It was awesome to get fresh towels everyday. There is a Westfield mall in walking distance. There is a 20.00 resort fee that was not dry well explained. This means you need to spend 20.00 on snacks or food during your stay. We did not hear this. The other thing is you need to pay for parking 45.00 a day. They do have laundry machines they are free so bring pods if you need to wash clothes.
- 4/5
Clean room but sofas in bad condition , great breakfast
- 5/5
Clean room. Nice amenities. Very helpful staff. Good free breakfast.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, loved the koi pond
- 4/5
Better than a standard continental breakfast, something for everyone. Fresh omelette station.
- 3/5
The free breakfast was great and one of the best amenities of our stay. Some of staff in the front, like Amber, were outstanding! Very professional, courteous, and kind. She really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The proximity to shops and restaurants was nice. No elevators in the parking garage. It actually cost $42 to park in the parking garage, which I have never seen before. This is way overpriced and unreasonable for staying at a nice hotel in a nice neighborhood and with no elevators. I had to push the luggage cart across the parking lot, up the ramp and all the way up to the top of the parking garage when I left the hotel, which was exasperating. The elevators in the hotel itself did not function well and I was sent up floors I didn't ask for and down to floors I didn't ask for. It was also very frustrating to wait as long as I did to go up and down during busy times of the morning ie. check out and breakfast time. So much so that I took the stairs on more than one occasion and I was on the tenth floor. Also, the bellman was rude, as were some of the front desk staff.
- 3/5
Washing machine very older and not working
- 5/5
Quick stay for one night and everything went very smoothly
- 5/5
Everything was awesome. Parking garage wasnt as bad as other reviews made it out to be. $42 per day for parking does suck along with the $23 per day hotel fee. However, we did get a daily $20 food and beverage credit and did find street parking nearby. Family loved the place.
- 2/5
Our room was not clean. There were all of these hidden fees when we arrived. When I booked on Expedia it claimed all fees were included but when I arrived we were charged 45 dollars a day for parking and had to sounds minimum of 20 dollars a day at the hotel. This was not disclosed prior. I was over all very disappointed with our stay and will not return and don’t recommend the hotel.
- 4/5
We got the Presidential Suite. It was perfect for our family. I think they could replace the pull out couch that looked like it was all worn out and dirty. The breakfast is always amazing and the staff was so kind and polite.
- 1/5
Although advertised as being nice, the rooms were awful. To say the furniture was tattered and dirty would be too nice. When I complained I was told all the rooms were like that and that they would renovate soon.
- 3/5
It was a decent place but the hidden fees are not worth it. We had to pay almost 150.00 extra for there parking garage to park there overnight and then a destination charge daily , so what can you do about it once your there you can’t so you just have to pay it . Overall it was ok next time I will look for something closer to the ocean and not have to pay all the extra fees
- 1/5
The properties photos depict something quite different from the reality of the suites condition. The living room furniture was dirty tattered and torn. This included all furniture. The bathroom floored were also unkept. Keeping this in mind , when we checked in we had to wait because although the room was allegedly cleaned it had to be inspected. When I complained about the room, they said they were aware of the condition and that all rooms were similar so there was nothing they can do. I have stayed any many Embassy Suites but this was extremely disappointing. It resembled more of what one might invusion being a room that rented by the hour
- 2/5
Stayed here after my wedding and The room had bed bugs wasn’t very clean and I’m pretty sure they all looked at me and my husband as if we didn’t belong there.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the indoor pool
- 5/5
Breakfast was great.
- 2/5
Breakfast is the best thing goi
- 5/5
Clean, neat, everyone is so nice
- 4/5
Great for families with little kids
- 3/5
Room was very old looking, not enough lighting, every piece of furniture had rips and stains, the carpeting had stains.
- 5/5
Clean facility
- 5/5
The room was clean but the shower curtain needed replaced as it was grungy and has black mildew on the bottom. Everything else was great!
- 5/5
The hotel is beautiful and clean.
- 5/5
Very clean, fantastic breakfast , FREE laundry facilities and extremely friendly staff! Koi pond was highlight for my daughter. Will definitely stay here again!!
- 2/5
Disappointing.
- 3/5
When we first got in the room there was a very strong scent of some stinky perfume. The bathroom wasn't the cleanest. Also bed sheets smelled clean but had black lint and none of our clothes were black. I would not recommend this Embassy Suites.
- 5/5
Staff. Let us do an early check in, asked about our stay - and multiple staff members gave us travel recommendations. Would highly recommend this hotel for family.
- 2/5
Room was dirty specially the bathroom floor. It was all hair. The receptionists on the front desk very rude. I thought it
- 1/5
Heavy dog presence at the hotel and in rooms. Lots of technical issues in the room and staff didn’t seem to be customer service oriented will never stay there again
- 4/5
Cleaning staff was extremely kind and considerate. Fun experience for kiddos t th
- 3/5
Our check-in experience wasn’t very pleasant. The gentleman assisting us (Nick or Rick) wasn’t very friendly or welcoming. The room itself is in need of upgrades — especially considering the price we paid. Charging $42 for parking was also frustrating, particularly since we had difficulty even finding a spot. Overall, it didn’t meet our expectations and we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
- 2/5
He seemed bothered if anyone called downstairs asking questions It’s a very run down , old , dirty establishment Motel 6 style We had to stay here due to a function, not by choice
- 1/5
The bathroom had hair on the walls and floor and they had to send someone up to clean it. One of the room tvs didn’t work. The ice bucket was falling apart. I spent nearly $400!! This should NOT have happened. They wouldn’t give us any credit or ANYTHING
- 1/5
Room was filthy Parking extremely expensive $42 per night
- 5/5
Clean rooms great staff over all great
- 4/5
Overall a nice facility with good amenities but also a property in major need of a remodel.
- 4/5
The room was spacious and clean, very nice hotel. Great atmosphere and everything is beautiful and clean.
- 3/5
Room decoration was old and damp shade is dirty and hair dryer was really old and generally room is old
- 3/5
However, the hardware does not match the software. The rooms and common areas are significantly outdated, giving the entire hotel a tired, old feel. The gym is very limited in equipment and options, and while the breakfast is slightly better than a standard hotel spread, it is only marginally so. It is a functional choice for comfort and service, but the facility is overdue for a renovation.
- 3/5
You could improve on breakfast. The breakfast is not so great. You could instruct the staff members to use a different cloth to wipe the tables out because it is stinking. The parking is insanely expensive $42 is too much for any parking. If you could improve on these things that would be great. The rooms are very good. It is quite. The services are very good. The whole staff members are excellent.
- 4/5
Staff was great, no issues. Nice clean room and bed, shower had weird tiny tub. Parking is 47$ a night, pretty ridiculous. Next time I’d just park on the road outside the property. Not bad at all for the price per night though, would recommend.
- 5/5
Great included breakfast!
- 4/5
adequate breakfast
- 5/5
Staff
- 3/5
Some of the furniture with fake leather was very weathered and peeling. Overall my experience was good, although the morning I was checking out I noticed two additional charges billed to my credit card on file. I went to the front desk to find out what they were for, was told they were just authorizations and would fall off in a couple days and was provided with a receipt that didn’t show the charges billed to my card. A couple days later, they posted to my credit card rather than falling off, so I called the property to follow up again. Was told the charges were for the water bottles they leave in the room ($13 water bottles 😳) and the guy said they had already been refunded and the refunds posting to my account will depend on my bank. Hopefully they’ll post in the next few days. Also, I didn’t touch the water bottles. Even though there was no signage to tell you the cost of the waters, I figured the hotel would charge me for them, so I never even touched them.
- 5/5
It was clean but fur in need of repair

Yes
- 5/5
Room was great n the bed was very comfortable, furniture was in need of repair or replacing but we had a fun stay
- 1/5
Got bites from bed bugs. Plumbing also went out in the entire hotel on Christmas Eve and ee weren’t able to shower, brush teeth, flush toilets or use the pool
- 2/5
Rooms are extremely dated. Pleather coach was peeling all over it. Huge stain on the chair. I took Lucy and showed management but no meaningful apology. Was told the chair stain would be fixed by of day. That never happened the entire week I was there.
- 5/5
Great experience. Wonderfull staff
- 5/5
Everything good
- 4/5
The suite gave our family more space which is great, and there’s def a family vibe to the hotel. The kids loved the outward facing elevators and the feeding the koi fish.
- 5/5
We loved the fact that the room is in the back so we can sleep wihth our dog with out him barking at the neighboors. We love the dreakfast, simple but good, and staff very helpful and nice.
- 3/5
Room smelled very musty!!!!
- 5/5
Toaster oven was not working well. Staff outstanding
- 5/5
The experience was great and the amenities were quite good. The room was spacious and clean. Id happily stay here again.
- 3/5
The room was spacious but needs new furniture and upgrades seriously. While the breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful.
- 3/5
Bed was hard as a rock. Felt like i was sleeping on the floor. Pillows were thin and useless. When I first walked in to check in I was there waiting for help at the counter for 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. Multiple people made eye contact and never even said anything. We ended up checking out early bc of these issues
- 5/5
Great property!
- 5/5
Nice in every way
- 4/5
I would say that the rooms need to be updated as the furniture is dated and peeling
- 2/5
Checking in was smooth the front desk was quick and easy. Going to our room we looked around and found old food still in the fridge from the previous people in the room. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable or the pillows, definitely not the best sleep I’ve had. We noticed there were signs for snack machine and we searched the floor it was supposed to be on and it wasn’t there. There was only ice machines available but the signs seem to be outdated and incorrect. As we were going downstairs from the 12th floor to the 6th, the elevator got stuck and the emergency phone didn’t work as well. We told the front desk and all they had to say was that it wasn’t the first time that day it happened. I’m just a little disappointed in the quality we received for the money we paid.
- 4/5
Facilities a bit dated but clean. Daily cleaning service sometimes forgetful. Food mostly the same daily but large selection
- 2/5
The hotel charged $45 per night for parking, even though the listing showed free parking. They also told me they do not have Queen beds at all only standard-size beds, which were very small. The room itself was not clean. The couches were torn, there was no hand-wash soap, and the AC/heater was not working. Even after they called a service engineer, the issue could not be fixed. The engineer told us the room had a compressor problem, and he wasn’t sure why the room was even being used.
- 3/5
Customer service confirmed that this location offers double queen beds, which is what I paid for. Upon arrival, the room only had full-size beds. This information was inaccurate and misleading.
- 2/5
Room, is to old, need renewal. Buffet was not good
- 4/5
The location is good, the facility and amenities are old
- 3/5
Furniture dated. Chairs peeling. Popcorn ceilings in 2025. White microwave and refrigerator. Lastly, I called to have my tub cleaned and they never came. Only 2 oulets worked to charge our phones. Outlets loose.
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Great breakfast
- 5/5
The indoor pool was a great value in the rainy days we were visiting SD.
- 1/5
Very poor hotel and service
- 3/5
room is outdated and their sheets are dirty with stains on it.
- 4/5
Great customer service and food. During our stay our bathroom sink clogged, we didn’t not have towels, but the hotel’s personnel took care of it pretty quickly.
- 3/5
Room smelled stale, furniture was old and ripped. Everything is dated and very worn .
- 5/5
Awesome
- 3/5
Found a roach crawling in the room. The staff was responsive and upgraded the room. However, the bathroom in the new room had a strong sewage odor. The pool offered no towels in the evening when it was still busy with many guests. The breakfast line so long and the option was limited.
- 4/5
Kids love the indoor pool and koi fish. Breakfast is awesome
- 5/5
Great staff. Great room. Great location
- 2/5
The hotel was over crowded, too many people at a chaotic free breakfast with bad food and messy set up. Elevators take forever and overall too busy.
- 5/5
Fine
- 4/5
Nice experience! Breakfast was really good,
- 3/5
Worse than college dorm room condition
- 3/5
Check in ftont desk needs to smile more. I know its christmas and she she's working. No acknowledgement of my presence.
- 4/5
First Embassy I’ve been at where the bacon wasn’t on the buffet. You have to stand in line to get bacon. Very annoying.
- 3/5
Water went out and I was notified when my room was ready when I checked in even though the concierge said she would notify me when my room was ready. Otherwise everything else was great.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the included breakfast and complimentary happy hour. Rooms were clean. Staff was very nice.
- 1/5
Dirty room
- 5/5
This place is amazing.. Worth every penny.. Loved everything about it.. Parking charge was the only negative at $42 and would stop me from coming back..
- 4/5
The hotel is vet nice, the room needs some updating
- 4/5
There is a large group of students staying at the hotel that were quite disruptive, and the staff could not control them. Just their loud boisterous conduct was unbecoming of a embassy suite hotel
- 5/5
Happy hour was a great perk
- 5/5
Clean room. Good customer service
- 5/5
The staff were amazing.
- 4/5
clean
- 5/5
I stayed here every time we would come down here when I was younger on family trips. Now I’m back years later with my boyfriend everything was Perfect and great service all around
- 5/5
Updated furniture or upholstery is needed
- 5/5
Good hot food!!
- 5/5
Easy check-in and great location for my business. Breakfast was solid and included - always a plus when you're travelling!
- 4/5
I got there around 9:30am and asked for early check in but there was no room ready yet. The lobby lady said she would give me a call or messege when it is ready, but she never did, and when I just came back to hotel to check the room availabily at 3pm, the room was already ready. Besides that, everything else was nice, especially the location which was near by UCSD and the shopping center.

This is a very nice Embassy Suites with an attractive decor, attractive & clean rooms, a helpful staff, great bed, good chairs, good lighting, and a very special cocktail hour with drinks and snacks for the guest - - an unexpected treat provided for all guests.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Great, smelled like cigarette a bit, but besides that clean
- 5/5
And breakfast was excellent and great choices
- 4/5
We loved the murphy bed. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. The only issues we had was the room service food was the worst we ever had. The tacos were soggy and greasy. not edible.
- 5/5
The room was MAGNIFICENT!! I loved how even though this was my first time booking with Hilton, they made me feel like I have been there many times before. Walking into my room and being greeted with the message on the television made me feel so welcome. The staff were amazing and you could tell that they love what they do. The breakfast was far beyond what I was expecting, fruits, sausage, waffles, baked items, and omelets!! Hilton will definitely be the hotel I’m booking with from now on.
- 5/5
They should improve there couch bed. The matress are to thin.
- 4/5
Room clean-efficient. Staff friendly.
- 2/5
The restaurant area in the hotel was poorly managed each morning and evening. They had a board game tournament going on and let them reserve the limited dining area space instead of putting them in a separate room. When we wanted to sit down, a staff member went from table to table asking other customers if we could sit with them! Again, for $400 a night I expected better accommodations! So stay here if you want last century accommodations with modern over-pricing this is the place for you. I will never darken their doors again.
- 5/5
Overall, everything was great. I did have a few pesky flies in my room for the duration though. Not sure why!

Close to everything, family friendly.
- 5/5
Staff are great here. Room had a little issue's. Shower curtain torn and side of couch had torn armrests as well as the ottoman. Other than that, the room was in great clean conditions.
- 5/5
Very pleasant area!!! Nice hotel
- 4/5
Great place to stay that was conveniently located near Scripps surgery centers for my scheduled surgery.
- 4/5
Just what you’d expect from an Embassy Suites. No glitz, no glamour, just a room.
- 5/5
Drying towels and face towels were yellow and old. Could use some replacements.
- 5/5
Spacious
- 4/5
Great location. Breakfast was good but the line for the omelet was too long. We had problem looking even for a clean table.
- 5/5
My experience at Embassy Suites La Jolla was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond—friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. The suites were spotless, spacious, and comfortable, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The complimentary breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at any hotel—fresh, hot, and plenty of variety. The made-to-order omelets were a great touch! I also loved the evening reception; it’s a nice way to unwind with drinks and snacks in a comfortable setting. The location couldn’t be better—right across from Westfield UTC Mall, close to great restaurants, and just a short drive to the beach. The hotel feels modern, safe, and well-maintained, with a great indoor pool and fitness area. Overall, Embassy Suites La Jolla exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re visiting for business, family, or a quick getaway, this place is a winner. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Food was not hat great.
- 5/5
Good service
- 5/5
I have been many times to this hotel because I love the breakfast and location. Until this stay I had no clue they had laundry or washing machines and dryers. On my floor (12th) It was located next to ice machine so good to know!
- 3/5
The room’s furnishing are old and dated. The sofa arms were frayed and torn. The configuration of the interior doors made it difficult to traverse from the living area to the bathroom. The toilet made grinding sounds after each flush for several minutes.
- 5/5
Clean room, wish room service was open later than 10pm but I think that’s standard. No soaps in the room for some reason. Maybe they forgot. Overall clean, quiet, and comfortable. Breakfast was also great! Lots of options!

- 5/5
The room was clean and staff were professional and friendly.
- 5/5
Clean room! Excellent and friendly staff! Loved the large room and included breakfasts with my stay!
- 5/5
Clean, great staff, great hotel for families.
- 5/5
The girl at the front desk, Blair, was really nice to me. She let me check in early and spoke to me with a kind voice and a ready smile. The cooks were also very nice. I liked the Koi pond and the eating area. I liked that the elevators were seldom crowded. The only not so great thing was the parking fee, but, I liked how easy it was to get out and I liked knowing my car was safe.
- 5/5
Always a good option
- 5/5
Very nice staff.
- 4/5
Breakfast buffet on Sunday morning was a huge disappointment - was not refreshed, a lot of the main items waffles, French toast, potatoes were not replenished at all at 9:30am when I went down. Seemed short staffed as the eating area was messy and not flipped and cleaned quickly for new breakfast guests. Disappointing!!!
- 5/5
good job
- 2/5
Super noisy. Parking structure is very cramped and overpriced.
- 5/5
Parking was weird, but everything else was great
- 5/5
Great experience.
- 5/5
Everything was great! No complaints!
- 4/5
Little dated
- 5/5
The rooms are big and kept clean. The hotel is dog friendly and the breakfast was included. We loved the hotel and the staff were friendly and welcoming.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast
- 4/5
It was a comfortable stay.
- 5/5
This a very nice hotel for the price and location. It's right across UTC mall and very close to the 805 (without the noise). Reception is great and attentive which goes with the schwanky vibe. Room very clean and you can log into your Netflix which is a rarity with upscale hotels for some reason. My only complaint would be the staff coming in when I'm showering. I dont do free shows. I told them to come back but they were like ,:naw you supposed to be gone". I had one more night. Don't know what the game plan was but I was slippery so draggjng me would have been hard. Besides that 10/10 would do again.
- 5/5
Excellent location!
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Parking should be included. Was lucky enough to find parking on the street but worried about vehicle at night.
- 4/5
Breakfast has plenty options
- 5/5
Overall stay was nice. Staff was courteous and polite except for the omlette bar chef who seemed quite grumpy.
- 5/5
Good service
- 4/5
Nice hospitality
- 5/5
Furnishings in room were worn and old
- 5/5
Location is good
- 1/5
Hilton Embassy suites was great! Hotels.com was terrible!! Said room came with 2 queen sized beds on their website but when I got there it was 2 double beds. Impossible for 2 ppl to sleep on each bed. Hotel said in their 30 years, they never had queen sized beds so Hotels.com misrepresented on their website. Called customer service and they said nothing they can do. Terrible service from Hotels.com.
- 4/5
Almost everything was perfect as usual. The biggest issue was at breakfast when the cook cussed my wife in Spanish. I told embassy direct. I did not appreciate this at all!
- 5/5
Location was great for nearby shopping and dining options. Staff were very kind.
- 5/5
It was cool and v easy check in. You have to pay for parking
- 5/5
Everyone was great. Clean rooms
- 5/5
Btw the breakfast was amazing!
- 5/5
There was a mix up with Expedia and Embassy Suites. I had to change the date of check in and since I booked with Expedia that's who I changed the date with. Expedia charged me dould the price because of the change. When we went to check in at Embassy Suites, Expedia hadn't informed them of the change but the manager went above and beyond to get us a room.
- 5/5
Great for any type of group. Breakfast can be VERY busy after 8:15 AM. Beds are very comfortable. Room was quiet.
- 4/5
As a suggestion, it may be helpful to provide a small prayer mat and a discreet Qibla direction sign in guest rooms. This would be a simple yet thoughtful addition that many guests would appreciate, and it would further enhance the welcoming and inclusive experience your hotel is known for. Thank you Warm regards,
- 5/5
Very quite, clean and friendly staff
- 5/5
It was a family trip near where my son lives
- 2/5
There is a very large soaking wet area on the carpet by the refrigerator. There was no coffee. The furniture was torn and scuffed. All in all, the room just didn’t feel clean. There was a ring in the toilet.
- 5/5
A lot of options for breakfast. But food was not hot enough. I wish I would have got an omelet from the omelet bar.
- 3/5
They seem to be slipping. There was a pile of trash outside our room upon check in and the hand soap container was empty. Also, one of the room key readers in the elevator was not functioning. Disappointing!
- 3/5
The toilet was broken. How could this happen?
- 5/5
but parking is not free, the gym is a bit small
- 5/5
Clean room and good service
- 4/5
The manger needs to work on her soft skills. Other than that, it was a great stay.
- 1/5
Charged for water that we did not use
- 5/5
Check in was easy. Staff was friendly. Room was nice and big enough for all of us. Room service was great… When we needed towels, they came quickly. Check out was even easier.
- 5/5
Westfield Mall just across the street. Lots of shopping and restaurants.
- 5/5
Very nice staff and great location. The hotel needs some refurbishing. Furniture is very old. Would stay again.
- 4/5
A long wait to check in, I was behind 4 people and only one person working. Couch and chair in room are uncomfortable. Bathroom door opens outward which creates issues with going back and forth between living area and bedroom. Otherwise, a very nice hotel, bed is comfortable, room has fridge and microwave. Coffee downstairs is very good. Had TV issues and maintenance was there right away. We will stay here again.
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
Rooms were clean but carpets outside rooms were full of stuff. Overall a good value.
- 5/5
great location. close to a mall.
- 4/5
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was large. The AC was extremely noisy and disruptive, but it was hard to sleep with it off since it was warm. Bring your ear plugs... Also, the toilet made a strange sound.
- 5/5
Nice hotel. Conveniently located across the street from a large shopping mall that has every store imaginable and lots of places to eat. Free breakfast with made to order omelet bar. Clean and comfortable. Good value. We’ve stayed at a few different hotels with comparable pricing but this is the best one so far. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re in the area.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay ! My little ones enjoy coming here .
- 5/5
Great breakfast, koi pond, room separation, nice location, pool & jacuzzi, friendly staff to name a few. We will return!
- 3/5
The property is fine, a little dated and could use some renovation. There was some peeling wallpaper in our room and the bathtub appeared to be clean but stained.
- 4/5
I want to leave a 4 star but it wasnt that serious but I think morning staff need to work on there customer service. Not the most approachable UNTIL... management comes on shift than SHE transforms to a kind receptionist. I will come back again really enjoyed the stay but just be kind
- 1/5
Shower faucet was not secured, broken.hole in wall where pipe coming out. Black mold around tub.
- 3/5
Good value hotel. Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was good and rooms/bed were good as well. Parking is extra but conveniently located next to hotel.
- 5/5
Breakfast busy but good options. Nice facility & location. Parking a bit confusing.
- 5/5
I felt the parking rates were quite high considering you are a paying guest.
- 4/5
Solid and dependable accommodation for work week.
- 4/5
The establishment needs some renovation/make-over as well bathroom, furnitures. On the other hand, the bed mattresses are comfortable. You get complementary free drinks in the afternoon and free breakfast.
- 4/5
Very good breakfast but very cheap on evening drinks and little snacks/ food that is gone by 6??? While people are there waiting in line!!
- 5/5
Across the street from the Westfield mall. Lots of shopping and food near by. Only 15-20 minutes from beaches and golf.
- 5/5
Easy place to stay, clean, with good service! Free breakfast, not vegan friendly but went there for morning beverage.
- 4/5
Pool had too much chlorine
- 5/5
Staff were very friendly and pleasant Checking out was very quick
- 5/5
It is not our first time to be there. We always enjoying the time spent at the Embassy hotel.
- 4/5
Parking is not free, 42/per day
- 5/5
Buffet breakfast, swim pool area clean. Very friendly staff
- 2/5
There was pubic hair in the shower along with longer hair. The pool area was dingy and stunk like mildew.
- 5/5
There’s a PF changs in the parking lot as well as a restaurant downstairs. Their complimentary breakfast and heated pool were definitely the highlight. The only downside to this hotel was the pull out bed was highly uncomfortable and you could feel the springs. If you’re staying here and have someone sleeping on the pull out sofa be sure to bring a thick blanket or something to lay down first.
- 5/5
Breakfast and evening cocktails and snacks were great! I don’t appreciate being charged for parking though.
- 5/5
Clean, convenient location, great price during weekdays. Great hot breakfast included wirh stay. Will stay again.
- 5/5
Breakfast buffet was ample and delicious. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very hospitable.
- 4/5
Property worked well for families.
- 5/5
From start to finish everything was smooth, quick communication with the staff by text is so convenient and hassle free!
- 5/5
We loved our stay at the Embassy Suites La Jolla. We were traveling for a soccer tournament for our daughter and couldn’t have picked a better location! The breakfast was exceptional each morning, the rooms and lobby are warm and inviting. It is situated right across from a beautiful mall which was perfect for some early school shopping. We hope to go back again soon!
- 3/5
Great location opposite Westfield mall. And free brekker was decent. However the hotel is incredibly dated and charging $42 for overnight parking is utterly outrageous. Would not return.
- 4/5
They were very helpful and friendly i would most definitely go back
- 4/5
The rooms are not small. The pool and Gym are not great and parking is expensive.
- 5/5
Breakfast was awesome! Best in the business
- 5/5
everything was ok, only happy hour very croud and few options to snack.

- 3/5
Room and bathroom were not as clean as expected. Had to request to get our done done in the morning and it still was not. Very loud breakfast area.
- 3/5
Like the Embassy brand in general, but this one seems to need a revamp. Always a line at front desk and only one person working. Carpets in room were filthy. The bath tub wouldn’t drain, so hey came to “fix it” it then it just filled back up, so I went and showered at my sisters room. I let them know on check out, but didn’t seem to care. Overall the hotel was fine, decent indoor pool, cool co
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
Great accommodations.
- 5/5
Very pleased, beautiful clean and spacious rooms
- 4/5
No bell boy to help with luggage and valet parking staff. Not kids friendly pool or play area
- 3/5
The room was very old and poorly maintained. The parking fee feels like a ripoff $40 per night is unreasonable.
- 4/5
Older rooms. Can use some updates in the bathrooms and flooring throughout. Other than that, stay was great.
- 5/5
Great customer service, clean rooms, and good breakfast! Great location also!
- 4/5
Nice place. Great location avoid the chinese restaurant opposite
- 3/5
Couch was old and worn, bathroom was pretty worn as well
- 5/5
Customer service was perfect. Really enjoyed the included full breakfast every day! Happy hour daily with $3 drinks and snacks. Did I mention the koi pond throughout the common area? So beautiful and relaxing. Outdoor jacuzzi was heavenly. Indoor pool had strong chlorine smell. Housekeeping was OK. Very prompt when asking for extra coffee pods that weren’t decaf. Did find hair in the bathtub. Again, promptly resolving the problem. Freezer was iced over and could not get my ice packs to fit. Engineer department promptly fixed the problem. All employees were very friendly and accommodating. Good price for a six day stay. Would definitely book again.
- 4/5
Parking garage costs money and the spots are very narrow. You could end up being blocked from opening your driver door, which happened to us once.
- 5/5
Excellent breakfast and evening reception! Location to mall/movies perfect! Wonderful visit
- 5/5
Great staff, breakfast and happy hour!
- 5/5
Great location, we could walk to dinner. The kids were thrilled with our welcome snacks. My husband and I enjoyed the complimentary cocktail and evening snacks. Also, the breakfast is included and really adds to the value. They served made to order omelettes. Our room was nice and had everything we needed for our stay. Sometimes, pullout beds can be really uncomforatable, but the murphy bed was comfortable (according to the kids). We would stay here again.
- 4/5
The staff are decent, but the facility is quite dated. They offer free shuttle service to La Jolla Shores and have rentals available for beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, and more. Breakfast is good, with made-to-order omelets, though lines can get long after 8 a.m. They also provide free fish food, and you can feed the fish between 8 and 9 a.m. it’s very close to UTC—just a 3-minute walk.
- 5/5
Great for family
