When I reported the issue right away, front desk staff showed zero empathy and simply handed me a cheap box fan as a “solution.” They claimed the hotel was fully booked and offered no room change, no real fix, and no meaningful assistance. A pathetic box fan did almost nothing to combat the heat, leaving me to suffer through a miserable, sweaty night that felt potentially harmful to my health. This is completely unacceptable for a Marriott property. Basic expectations like working AC were ignored, and their response was indifferent and unprofessional. I paid for a comfortable room and received none of that. I strongly advise pregnant travelers and anyone expecting reliable amenities to avoid this hotel. Management needs to do better — this experience was disgraceful

The room was clean and no issues with our room. Unfortunately the hotel booked several softball teams. All the public spaces were unusable, cushions from couches were tossed around, the plugged in videos of their game on the monitors, all the tables were moved and grouped for their use. The hallways were filled with people running around and being loud.

The adjacent park with pond and wildlife was best part. Property clean, staff friendly and attentive. Laundry room was a plus. The room was too close to pool area leaving me no privacy plus the pool area noisy. Music was left on all night my first night. Conference rooms too close to guest rooms. Must pay for parking

The place needs an upgrade specially the bathroom, the shower and the rooms. There was not what I was expected from the Marriott court yard. I was expecting a little bit more cleaner more bigger rooms it has a certain smell of their rooms that it’s pretty hard to sleep at night or stay there and the beds were not that great at all paying this much of money is not worth it to stay there that’s my recommendation

When I called front desk from the room I was told the one I booked had already been given to another guest who checked in before me. What made the experience worse was the way the situation was handled. I asked to speak to management and The manager was extremely rude, raised his voice, and acted unprofessionally instead of trying to resolve the issue respectfully. The tone was very upsetting I then had to give the phone to my partner to speak with him it was until then the compensation was offered which was free breakfast and parking, which did not make up for not receiving the room that was booked and paid for. I understand hotels can become sold out, but guests should still be treated with professionalism and respect when problems happen. Very disappointing experience overall.

But the baseball team was loud and obnoxiously taking up the whole dining area (I understand its a comunal area) their children were running rampant with no adult supervision, playing ball inside they hit me and my family multiple times and parents never addressed it but staff didn't come to address the loud noises either. We also ordered food and our food took almost an hour to be severed to us and it wasn't even hot lukewarm at best, but we were hungry after being on the road for 5 hours, so we just ate our food,but it was a very uncomfortable situation the whole time. If you do stay here just dont eat there go out or order delivery.

We were expecting much better. It had been a few years since we had been in the San Diego area and we booked last minute to attend a wedding. Everything was just okay. We did have a light breakfast that was also just okay. We would opt to found another location next time we are is the San Diego area.

Room was clean although set up is very strange. TV is at a awkward angle to the bed. Also the fitted bed sheet does not stay on very well and because of how the night stands attach to the bed it's very difficult to get the corner back on. The bar and the grounds were very nice. The shower pressure was very weak. I was placed in a handicap room and the shower head was about hip level and there was no mount to keep it higher for a normal shower, the only option was to hold it above my head with one hand.

But, honestly, not sure why they charge a parking fee in th first place.

Great overnight stay and the hotel associates are extremely kind and helpful. Clean room and everything was in working order. I worked for Marriott for years as a Senior Leader within Accounting so I have a pretty high standards. I left feeling that this was an overall great experience.

The stay was terrible. We checked in and couple hours later a cockroach was roaming around the TV table. The bathroom door wasn’t working. There was no kettle to warm up water or even proper amenities. You can’t even hang clothes in the bathroom to change into because there was nothing. Staff changed room for us and then issues started there. We pay to have a relaxing stay with an infant and toddler but it was terrible. We asked for room service and the bed sheets to be changed and confirmed with staff prior to heading out that our name was on the list. Staff confirmed we were on the list for room service. Came back after couple hours and there was no room service. Absolutely ridiculous. I do not recommend Courtyard by Marriott. Will not be staying here again due to all the inconveniences.

The staff is very helpful and courteous. However, this hotel itself seems pretty old and in need of some renovation. I've stayed in 2 different rooms in this hotel in the last 2 weeks, and found common issues in both rooms: 1) There is a strange smell when you enter the rooms, which is mildly unpleasant but won't suffocate you, 2) The bed sheets and pillows do not smell fresh, 3) The bath tub has stains in it, 4) Shower curtains probably unchanged from long ago, and they're beyond a point where washing them makes them look and feel clean. Overall, I expect better when a hotel carries the Marriott name. This one falls below expectations. I'd probably avoid this hotel in future unless there's no choice.

Rude inconsiderate staff. I was EMAILED not called but EMAILED at 7pm, that they had to relocate me to a sister hotel down the street because of a maintenance issue in my double bed room. Instead of accommodating me at their hotel, they sent me to another hotel that did no notify me that I’d be placed on a single bed room. So when I got to the room and it was not a double bed that I booked and paid for, I headed back to the front desk to sort it out. That’s when they told me all of their double bed rooms had been all booked up for a week! Why would I be sent to a hotel that could not accommodate what I booked and paid for? Because the staff and management at Marriott San Bernardo could care less about my reservation since I booked from Expedia (a third party) and these reservations “are not priority” It was a mess. I obviously needed somewhere to sleep that night so guess where I ended up? ON THE FLOOR! As I had 4 people in my party. Mind you, I was dealing with all of this at 10pm. The only response I kept getting from staff was “there’s nothing we can do for you.” It was the worse hotel experience I’ve had by far.

It’s comfortable and spacious. We asked for room service and didn’t get it but did get it when we asked for it again. We stayed there for over a week due to some home repairs. I wish they offered complimentary meals or drinks when staying long especially with family. They did take care of parking but honestly I don’t think they look on dash to see if there’s a parking slip or not. They were really busy during the 4th of July weekend and minimal staff and housekeeping. They did not plan staffing for the busy weekend.

This stay was pretty decent place to lay your head. It was clean and staff was very welcoming. I will say night shift needs more then one person :/ but they never once were rude even when busy. The bathroom in the room needs updated for sure rusted towel hangers , fire sprinkler (inside restroom). The bed was comfy but not excellent… definitely need more pillows so bring those or a blanket to prop yourself. Could hear our neighboring room TV :/ our TV didn’t work but front desk was very accommodating for this issue, thank you! Hot tub is the best!!!! Margaritas were on point! Hotel is old and needs remodeling. Still has popcorn ceilings. Wifi doesn't work. I would never stay here again.

Reasons why : When I arrived the front desk had checked me in and provided me with the room key. We set our items down and we took a nap , woke up and went to pick food up . Once we arrived back to our room the key no longer worked . I asked my husband and daughter to stay near the room as I’d figure out the issue (holding our food in hand). Once I went to the front desk I asked what the issue was. Turns out the front desk never checked us in so the inactivated our room key. I waited to get the situation fixed . By the time I went back to the room my food was cold ! SN: they offered us complimentary breakfeast. We did not get the chance to eat it as it was from 7am-10am and we had to leave asap to our destination. Since the hotel was a busy hotel (I was staying for 3 nights) every time I’d leave I felt like they’d give my room away without notice ! ( lost my peace of mind) Secondly : our check out time was 11am . The day of checkout they knocked on our door at 8:30 am and attempted to open our door while we were sleeping! ( we wanted to sleep in) . We rushed up from our sleep and stoped the guy from coming in. Then…. At 9:00 they did the same ! I felt like we’re rushing us to leave! I wanted to shower before leaving but didn’t get the chance since I felt like I needed to go ! We ended up leaving by 9:30. Which really annoyed my stay ! Honestly, next time I’ll spend more for a more relaxed stay.

Our stay went well overall. There were some minor inconveniences such as parking or some of the bathroom amenities having a low supply. Overall, I would say we would return if we find ourselves making a trip back.

Noise of fan motors above the celling is terrible loud and cannot stop. A non smoking facility/hotel assigned me a room that smells strong smoking.

Easy access off of I-15. It’s in a court so there is minimal traffic. While the grounds are immaculate, the park adjacent to the hotel is beautiful (great paths and bridges over ponds make for a pleasant walk for your pet. Rooms were immaculate, beds super comfy. Hotel staff are very friendly and informative! Definitely one to bookmark should we travel this way again!

Unfortunately, there were a few problems. We needed an ADA room and were given one, but there were several drawbacks to note. First, the door was so heavy and automatically closed so quickly that it was very difficult to wheel my mom into the room. If she had been alone, she would have been totally unable to get into her room. The room was down a very long hallway, farthest from the elevator, which also made it more difficult. Also, twice during our 3-night stay we got up to our room and had to go back down because our keys weren’t working.

The staff was great. The fact that the elevators failed to function for the two days we were there and being placed on the far end on the fourth floor was unacceptable. They attempted to compensate with Bonvoy points but the actual value was underwhelming considering the major inconvenience of traveling those emergency exits numerous times throughout our stay.

I had to request a hairdryer for my room and there was no hot water on the final night and following morning of my stay. Otherwise, everything else was fine.

The lobby was clean anf the exterior of the hotel was comforting and safe. Front desk was really helpful and the room was amazing. Everything in the room worked and was in very great condition..

Beautiful and comfortable rooms with a view of a pond in the back. Nice to walk around the paths. Quiet and convenient location. Very thin walls though.

The hotel is out dated. Many of the towels were stained. When we asked if the room could be serviced in the morning, they didn’t come until late in the afternoon. The door to the bathroom would stick and you can’t get out. I told the front desk and they did nothing. Also, I was shocked to see a parking fee which was not explained to us at check in.

The facility and common area was decent. Sad that even though I booked through a third party, breakfast was not included. I felt like checking in was a breeze, our actual room experience was not so… we had to ask for linen on 2 different occasions……as well as being rushed for check out.. I asked for late check out and here come maintenance and installer rushing me out the room as I’m backing up my belongings…
