Check in was way to slow on Saturday night. It was about 9:45 PM and had a toddler with me who was tired. Only one staff member checking people in and took a really long time. Probably 45 min. He needs an extra person to help at least on the weekend.

If this hotel was budget-friendly I would give it 5 stars. (Still probably got a deal for the general area & time of year) Staff are very kind & helpful. Mike was very professional& polite; above average customer service for sure. Saul was warm & welcoming and went above & beyond to deliver excellent customer service. The only reason for things being just slightly different than expected: it’s a nice hotel & I bet the ambiance is amazing when they have the fire pit out front & fireplace going; but walking into my room (which was a nice room), noticed a musty smell. Asked if something could be sprayed in the room & he was right, it worked very well but next morning after going out & coming back in, I smelled it faintly again (may want to check filters in the air unit). 2. When I grabbed the hair dryer out of the bag to use; it was dirty & slightly sticky, w hair stuck to it. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay. They charge $10 for parking (not sure if that is per night or per stay, only stayed 1 night); was surprised bc it is nowhere near downtown San Diego, have never encountered that outside of downtown areas and there was ample parking all around. The jets work well in the hot tub, and for safety concerns: you need to use your active key to get in after hours or to go up the elevator

Breakfasts are excellent. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Took advantage of the small bar and grill for a late dinner. The downside is the hot tub closed a bit earlier than posted (9:40 v 10 PM) which prevented a quick soak. The room was clean but smelled a bit funky - I had no pets but maybe it was from a previous pet occupancy? Overall, a good stay. Also, they had fresh cookies available one evening which was fun.

Overall stay is always very nice, Staff is very helpful and respectful. Location is the key especially if you are visiting your kid in UCSD. Place is easily accessible to highway, close to lot of good places to eat. Nearby Starbucks is walkable and almost seems to be part of the property.

Very comfortable clean relaxing stay while we were in the area. Helpful friendly staff, smelled really good and the breakfast was decent - eggs, turkey sausage, make your own waffles, bagels, roasted rosemary potatoes, yogurt, cereal, etc. my husband used the gym and liked it. Very good hotel for the price.

Unfortunately the heating pump for the "heated" pool was out, so nope, I didn't enjoy the pool (weather wasn't warm enough), however the jacuzzi was great! The complimentary breakfast was okay (we chose to eat at McDonalds, 5 minutes away). The hotel is located in a safe area, near fast food restaurants, & stores; not too far from the airport (20-25 minute drive); and close to beaches. One of the best assets of this hotel is its front desk staff / professionals (Mike, & Jeremy)... Very nice, friendly, knowledgeable, & professional. This hotel is a must; trust me you'll be happy!

Check in very easy as well as check out. Shout out to Mike, who was very helpful and sweet even gave us options on what to do in San Diego. Absolutely love the breakfast good quality and complimentary. I am deducting points because you charge for parking and secondly, you’re adding tax to parking. Never have I been somewhere where they’re charging me tax on the parking! Note to the hotel offer free parking to your guests and if you’re going tocharge us, don’t add any more tax to that!!

The property was very clean. Staff was very friendly . The only thing was the drainage issues they have at this location . I have to asked them to fixed the drainage and I notice other people did asked too . But they did fixed the issues right away . I would booked it again in the future stay.

The breakfast menu was fresh and had a wonderful variety of options that were different for the three(3) days of my stay there. The staff were so friendly and helpful with great customer service. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Best hotel I’ve ever been to.

My sister was scheduled for heart surgery at Scripps Memorial hospital. We stayed the night here because she had to be there at 5am. I stayed 2 additional days to be close to her. The location was only 10 minutes from the hospital which made it very convenient. The room was great. the breakfast was very good. I would highly recommend this location, especially if you need to be near any of the medical facilities in the area.

For our purposes, seeing a friend in Mira Mesa and visiting UCSD, it was a great location. The hot/cold breakfast was very useful and quick with quality food before heading out for the day. Great location if you have a car. Besides the UCSD campus, it is an easy drive to other highlights of San Diego and shopping is nearby if you need anything. I would stay here again, no problem.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and Jeremy at the front desk was super accommodating. Everyone was quite pleasant and we would recommend it!

The location was great. The staff was beyond amazing! Breakfast was delicious and had everything you could want. We were there for surgery at UCSD medical center and the 9 am surgery got postponed until 5pm and we needed a place to stay for the day before our reservation at 3 pm. I kindly asked the front desk if we could have an early check in at 9am in the morning knowing it was highly unlikely. But within 20 minutes they had a room ready for us! They still believe in customer service. Appreciate all who helped us out.

Carpeting needed cleaning in the room. Old furniture. Beds much too low to the floor. For a handicapped room. Phone stopped working. Restaurant was not a restaurant it was bar food in the lounge. Buffet for breakfast was OK. Staff was helpful in the buffet staff at the bar was helpful also.

The staff was attentive and friendly and made sure to always greet you. The breakfast had a wide variety of items to select from and always fresh. Highly recommend this place for families.

Got to the hotel an around 2 PM. Was told our room was ready but then was promptly asked to pay $25 to gain access to the room before 3 PM. I guess the 5 people sitting around in the parking lot should have tipped me off. After running errands and returning for the free check-in, they did not honor the 2 free beverages we were supposed to receive for our Hotels.com loyalty.

Stayed here as we were in town for our sons baseball tournament. The staff was so nice and helpful, we had a very smooth check in process. The room was great, clean, beds were made. They offered free breakfast everyday of our stay but we didn't take advantage as we wanted to try the local spots since we were in the area for a short time.

Had a great stay here! I was able to get a nice workout in at their gym. They had free weights, kettlebells, and a cable machine. Also, the breakfast in the morning was pretty decent. The room smelled a little funky, had to blast the fan to air it out. Other than that the staff and everything else was great!

I specifically booked this hotel for the hot tub, but was unable to use due to my event ending so late in the evening. Did not get back to hotel until after hot tub was closed.

The rooms do not get adequate wifi signal. You can tell the staff but they will not do anything even though they say they will.

The front desk man should switch up his act. The people making sure breakfast was fresh and plentiful were amazing. There’s a tip jar available so be kind and leave them something.

This hotel is nice. This time I stayed on the 7th floor. There seem to be some problem with the drainage in the sink area and there was bad smell from the drain. The bad smell also by the elevator as well.

Our stay was to celebrate our 4 year old daughter’s birthday. She loved the place. We stay at a king size suite 6th floor. Awesome view. Room was clean, need it extra towels and pillows and they were able to provide asap. On one of the days my daughter wanted a banana and didn’t have any w us, her favorite snack. The guy at the reception heard her crying and asked what was going on politely. We told him and he went out of his way and got my daughter a banana. Made her evening. Thank you so much for going out of your way to make my daughter happy. Breakfast was delicious a lot of options. She loved her waffle. Everything was clean and well organized. Check in was so easy. First time in CA so I’m not sure if it’s common to be charged for parking ($10 per night). There was plenty of parking available but it was being used by Utility Trucks so it seems weird to charge the people staying in the hotel but other cars using the spaces.

Personnel was great, hotel was clean and quiet.

Initially, when my wife and I entered the room we discovered the refrigerator was plugged in but not operating. There was a cross piece on the desk that was broken. The television had a volume problem. After turning off the television, the volume played briefly and then muted itself. It was not a mute problem with the remote. We watched a movie with closed captions.

Overall the hotel was a great selection for the basis of our trip. Great breakfasts not just bagels ans coffee. A decent restaurant/bar with good food. However the reason why i selected this place was because it had an outdoor heated pool. Unfortunately, the pool was put of service and i wasn't made aware until agter i checked in. So my fanily wasnt able to enjoy this amenities that we were looking forward to.

Bar and grill had good good ?. Everything was good. It was final game for dodgers and blue jays so the place was packed. I don’t think they anticipated that many people but it was all good. The limited staff did well with the amount of people.

My granddaughter had a Gymnastics competition in Del Mar. This stay was excellent! Easy to book, easy to park, she was able to get enough sleep (quiet at night) and they had breakfast before leaving! No stress. Property is clean and service was friendly. Great place to stay.

The suite we stayed in was perfect. Clean and very comfortable. Our front desk clerk Mike was amazing. He was super friendly and warm. I signed up for the rewards program at his recommendation because I have every intention on staying again.

Additionally, the restroom was dirty and the AC struggled to keep the room at 73. I set it at 70. 4 stars on this trip due to unclean room, AC not working its best and staff not honoring free drinks. I was given them after walking back down and asking for them.

The staff are friendly, approachable and offer exemplary customer service. The rooms are great and everything was spotless. The air con was a bit loud but I don't live somewhere that needs it and most people might not even notice. Either way I was able to turn it off when I wanted with ease. I wasn't affected by noise on the floor- couldn't really hear anyone in adjacent rooms :) The breakfast was good and there was a good selection for most people's tastes. I was in town for a class and wasn't driving this time and it was a bit awkward to get places as San Diego is a car city and the buses and coaster are a bit away from the hotel. Recommend but if you're solo or without a car it may be a bit awkward for you to get around.

Also I always pull the sheets all the way out and the skirt sheets were dirty I always take my own sheets just in case that happens The shower head was not convenias well

Staff was respectful and helpful. Parking was easy and close to the entrance. The room was clean and had all the amenities.

These folks really helped us after a hotel nightmare experience! Amazing customer service! Understood our hesitation and were patient in working with us! Clean rooms, good breakfast, great pool and hot tub. Bed was a bit too firm, but we didn’t mind. Thank you so much!

Our shower was difficult to use, unlike before when we were in the suite. Customer service was not good. The front desk Representative named Mike was rude and not helpful. He referred to you as a 3rd agent and wanted to recharge me.

The hotel is large and in reasonable condition. Cons: The elevator had issues this time — it was noisy and occasionally failed to open the doors properly upon reaching the desired floor. The vegetarian breakfast options were quite limited. For example, there were no nuts available to pair with oatmeal.

The breakfast was awesome! The hot items varied day to day, but they had staple items every day. The room was very good with the exception of the bed and pillows. We got a king sized bed that was not comfortable, and pillows that were kid sized. Our sink area was small.

Such a nice stay. They have coffee 24hrs and their breakfast was really good. Everything is clean and comfortable. Just wish the bed was a tad bit softer but it was still comfy.

It’s was very nice stay at this hotel, good breakfast and staff very polite it.

Our AC was not working when we went to our room. I informed the front desk, and they promptly sent an engineer to repair it. They even called us in the evening to make sure it was working. I really appreciate the customer service and the concern for our comfort.

Carpet and furnitures - super dirty

After 2 days of no housekeeping I had to call for fresh towels

The mattress had no support and it creaked when getting in. The center of the mattress was depressed more than 2 inches from the side. My wife and I rolled towards the hole in the center. Did not sleep at all. Worst hotel bed I’ve ever slept in. Further, the bathroom tub did not drain. Would not recommend this property.

The beds were comfortable and the surrounding area quiet in the eve. The main complaint is have is that both nights I had to turn off the AC due to the noise level of the AC unit. It's not defective, just really loud.

Friendly staff

I have stayed here several times when in San Diego on business. The hotel is clean, comfortable, nice size rooms, and great breakfast. Twice I needed help with a reservation modification, both times the same front desk rep was unhelpful and unfriendly about it. But in both cases, the next day, someone else was able to help me with exactly the same request. So I am grateful to those who actually know what they are doing.

The staff was friendly in the facility was very clean. The problem was the bed was old and sagged, and the blankets were scratchy. Just had the feeling of an older Hotel.

-The room was quiet. Stayed two nights and heard no loud or disrupting noises and was able to sleep peacefully. -The included breakfast was fine and the seating area mostly clean. -Had probably one of the best burgers from the Bar & Grill on the main floor so no complaints there. -Check-in was smooth and all my interactions with the front desk and other staff was very polite and pleasant. -Hotel is located in a nice and quiet area - always felt safe. The bad: -The room itself was in dire need of some TLC. The floor had several stains -There was a strong musty/mildewy odor in the room - never got used to it. -Much of the other furniture (desk, sofa, closet) all had obvious signs of wear and the sofa also had some stains -The bathroom wasn’t terrible, but the shower head was detached from the wall. -TV/remote were a little dated and entertainment selection was standard local channels with a few other like Discovery, History, E!, etc. Overall, I’d give my stay a solid 2 of 5 stars. Food 5 of 5. Not likely to stay here again, but would if it was the only option.

We stayed for three nights, and on the first night, new towels were provided, the bed was made, and the bathroom was lightly cleaned, but on the second night, the bathroom trash was not collected. On the last day, we were supposed to be able to use the room until 12:00 PM, but when we returned from breakfast, the cleaning staff had entered our room without permission and was cleaning for the next guest, throwing away a food we had left behind. I have stayed in many hotels, but this was the first time I have experienced such an insulting experience. What's more, the cleaning staff did not even try to apologize. It was around 9:00 AM. I felt like I had been kicked out of the hotel. I decided to stay because of the good reviews, but I don't want other guests to have the same experience, so I don't recommend it.

Bed was awful. Slept terrible due to the bed and thin walls. I could hear my neighbor snoring both nights.

Front desk staffs did not response on to an urgent need of bathroom issue. Broken showerhead splashed water all over the bathroom. It took more than 6 hrs and more than 3 phone calls, in person notification in the daytime(Monday) to fix the problem.

The staff I dealt with were excellent. There room was clean and comfortable, more comfortable than I had anticipated.

Hotel is convenient to La Jolla by car and nearby San Diego further south. It's clean and bed was comfortable. One improvement is the HVAC is very loud. Sounds like the compressor is 3 feet away from the bed when it kicks on, it's like a jet engine. If you like that, you may like the room.

We stayed for two nights. Staffs are friendly and breakfast is good. However, the room smells like curry and garlic which made me feel uncomfortable.

Everything was great except the a/c unit did not work in our room. Luckily the weather was cooler but my pregnant wife wasn’t too happy as she prefers a colder room to sleep in.

I have stayed here before on business, and rebooked it because I liked the location, the cleanliness, great breakfast and the room. However, both times the same clerk at registration was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. Of all the things that stand out, I have never been told at registration that by a staff member that I can not be helped at the moment, I needed to wait, because he just came on his shift and he needed time to set himself up before he can do anything. When I eventually asked to please return to the top floor (7th) as last time, there was no reason, just a short reply that I can not! Love the hotel, not their staff member.

The staff was incredibly helpful. The room was large and clean. A nice amenity was coffee and cookies in the foyer. The location was very convenient for the medical needs I had at the local hospital.

The air conditioning unit in the hallway was very loud. Right outside of my room and outside of window.

Breakfast was hot, tasty and plentiful. Plenty of parking. Great place and will stay here again if I’m in town.

The jacuzzi looks like it’s not well maintained it looks dirty inside. Room service cleaning came to clean the room at 5pm, when we arrived back to the hotel. I think they should have cleaned in the morning when people are out.

Breakfast was excellent! There was a wide variety of options, and the main dishes changed daily. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-kept. Most importantly, we felt relaxed and at ease throughout our stay. One highlight was the Starbucks conveniently located right across the street! Even better, the overall price for the weekend stay, considering all the amenities, was the best deal around. Our entire experience was awesome, and we’ll definitely be staying here again!

Great stay

The room itself required engineering to come check out the ac and fix it due to it being broken. The shower drain stopper was broken as well. I asked 4 different times for towels to be delivered to the room until it was finally addressed.

The area was nice and quiet. The breakfest was very complete. In terms of the room, the rug is worn down so definitely bring some flip-flops or slippers to wear in the room.

The hotel was nice. The breakfast buffet had variety of food. The only complaint was the smoke alarm in the room kept going off.

Overall the stay was nice. Carpet in room has stains and the pool has mold on steps.

We had a great time with our two service dogs. All of the staff were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast potatoes were amazing!! The only weird thing was no vent in the bathroom so it got a little steamy but overall fantastic stay!

Staff was very friendly, but our first room hadn’t been cleaned and was a mess. The staff moved us to another room that was ok, but not quite as nice. Overall it turned out ok. Just the initial check in was difficult. Breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly.

Also the VIP amenity wasn’t mentioned to me, I thought it was for 2 drinks, so we went to the bar and the guy said we needed a voucher. Went to front desk and they said the drinks were from the cooler. Needs to be more specific in the offer.

To add insult to injury, I paid over $400 for the room. Finally got moved after manager was called at home but moved to a king with cot. One of us stayed on a cot. That is ridiculous. For $400 the room should be ready upon arrival.

Also dripping noise at night ? From frig?? Also It didn’t have a freezer section so unable to freeze my ice packs.
