Great place family friendly. My daughter had a blast in the pool. Went to SeaWorld but nice to come back and rest comfortably.

You get what you pay for. $50-60 cheaper than other hotels nearby, friendly staff, however my bed and “clean” towels had loads of hair from previous guests. The shower had so little water pressure that it was difficult to shower. The mattress should have been retired 6 years ago. If you want a place to sleep on a road trip for a night it will do, for anything else I would recommend paying a little more for a better experience

Nice hotel , the room was okay , not the cleanest. I went to take a shower and there was still hair in it from the previous guests. Plus no shampoo/ conditioner bottles. But it is a good hotel for a quick place to sleep.

Some things in the room were still dirty such as the shower but overall it worked for what we needed! The staff was helpful and I felt safe being around the property. We didn’t have time for the pool but it looked pretty big and nice!

The stove was unplugged and we had to call someone in to get it fixed. The light switches didn’t work for the two lamps on the wall. We appreciate the immediate help we’ve received. Otherwise we were able to enjoy the stay and everything else provided.

The worst motel I've ever stayed in. It's old and the room was old. The bed was the worst bed I've ever slept on and I travel alot. Got a room with a stove so I could cook through the week and it didnt even work. The picture shown online are not accurate at all. Do not stay here. These good reviews online have to be fake reviews. Will never stay there again

Table in room was wobbly (had to be careful not to spill my drink on myself when at the table), phone in room was not working (in case I needed to reach out to office personnel), remote to A/C unit did not work (mo battery cover..tape used to hold batteries in place), no microwave or coffee maker in room, no complimentary toiletries provided (only 2 sm bottles of shampoo…no conditioner or body wash), Images on website are misleading…did not feel safe at this establishment.

I did not like the rooms every thing is very old. The bed is not good, the towels are very small and thin. We got there at night there were homeless in property they look like they where selling drugs. Some people act like they live there it was weird. I will never stay there again.

What is it that makes this place stand out against all other hotels. Hmmm. The people that work here ,when you get the privilege of spending a few minutes with them, you can feel like they are a big family. Now remember I said if you get the privilege. Just make sure you don’t make everything out you. And everything that you think you deserve in life just because you woke up today. Remember they are very nice people here. I bet you will have a great time here when you remember that everyone else is important And you’re not a big deal because you rented a hotel room for a night or two. I tell I walk around here smiling at everyone that walks by. Oh and the rooms are pretty nice. Some have little kitchenettes in them and I feel like I’m at home in my apartment. Have a great stay here and enjoy yourself and everyone else here with you. I almost forgot. Make sure to leave a Nice Tip for the people who clean up your mess like you are a little kid and don’t remember to put your things away. Haha.

I had to literally kick my door open to get into my room. I went to the office & they switched my room. There was pubic hair in the shower, on the floor and in the bed. No comforter was available so thank god I brought a blanket. Super squeaky bed, facet water smelled like sewer, the wifi was so bad that the tv was pretty much static. People had brought their dirty couches and placed them outside and there were tons of shady people wandering in the parking lot. Unfortunately my property managers were not aware of any of the reviews because an Expedia “expert” recommended this place when they booked it for me because my water heater was getting fixed. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you had to be placed somewhere for the night due to a natural disaster. The only positive was the staff. They were quite pleasant and accommodating.

At 4 in the morning, someone kicked their door and it sounded like someone was about to get shot. Front desk moved me but didn't call the cops and said they couldn't do anything about it. This hotel was basic, but everything was clean, it was quiet, staff was wonderful and price was right. I felt safe and enjoyed my stay.

Good stay, nice people. One of the beds in the 2 double bed room I stayed in This last time was a little bit worn, but still pretty comfortable and the other mattress was fine. I do wish they had microwaves in their standard rooms but you usually have to get an upgraded room for that. Most of the time, you can’t beat the price to stay here, unless you stay in El Cajon or further up north. Staff always greet you when you walk into the lobby and overall I would say this is one of the best (relatively) affordable places to stay in SD. Housekeeping staff are also very friendly and they do an excellent job

Unfortunately we didn’t get the chance to relax and enjoy the pool or hot tub as the outdoor space was the best part of the property. It was beautifully maintained and landscaped other than the fact that huge bundles of wires snaked over roofs and down the outside walls. Very thin walls you can hear everything. Room layout was ideal with the closet but it could have been cleaner. Also, shower was so short it hit my neck. Tub also didn’t drain well.

No fans in the restrooms for ventilation. Poor mattress quality.

There was bugs in the bathtub and spiderwebs around the window. We git what we paid for. Conveniently located to get to beaches, old town and various other city attractions.

I think if you are the sort of person like myself who really isn’t interested in being impressed with the way a property and you know that what really matters is that you extend kindness to others, you will fit right in here. The staff is always there for you and the team of ladies who take care of making sure that your room clean are absolutely fantastic. Always tip them well is what I try to live by. Someone is always there with a smile and a hello. Enjoy.

Good stay for the price. Good location and proximity to the surrounding beaches. The only thing for us is that there were only latches on the window to close also with a broken screen, no rod to keep it closed, and we were on the ground floor so it felt slightly unsafe to open when our room became stuffy at night. There was an AC unit that helped though. We also had a garbage can right outside our window where my husband had to move it away the second night because people were using it all night and it was noisy. Overall our stay was good just those two things, but we would stay again.

Lumpy hard bed, shower water pressure low, hot water took forever to heat, shower knob and shower head were old and outdated low water out put. Overall not bad for just one nite for the price. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️.

The room felt super hot and musty when we walked in, the furniture was wet and felt old also there’s an old man who lives there that made us uncomfortable and our room was so hidden we couldn’t find it at first

The property is worn, the beds were not great. But after walking around the zoo all day, I had no problem sleeping. Basic room, not luxurious. They would certainly work for a 2-3 day stay. Better size kitchenette, fridge, microwave, sink, empty cupboards, room for kitchen storage. Parking lot was packed! Many people choose this property. You’re in San Diego, you won’t spend much time in your room. Many services available within a short drive, Walmart and McDonalds a mile away. Great Cuban restaurant across the street. Popular property due to value and location. Central to most San Diego attractions. Easy to find! I would recommend for price! San Diego is expensive ….

I like that there was a pool and a hot tub with extended hours. So, I was able to use it at night until 10 p.m., and in the morning until 10 a.m. . The security gate was good to have. The interior yard in the hotel is very pretty with all the trees. It feels like an oasis in the city. The room was clean, and the staff was courteous. No comments for improvements.

Honestly when u make reservation and special request a FRIDGE n MICRO u expect a working AC....I did not have a MICROWAVE in my room rental and upon going to front desk kitchen I received negative attitude from a SEC CLERK on phone after hours. A woman's coming out party was being staged in ballroom not sure if this was catalyst but I was made to feel about 15 YOA this STAY. Underage and not responsible isn't the RX for a 63 YOA male

The staff is kind and attentive. The property is conveniently located to a variety of destinations. The room was clean and the water had great pressure. The property has a pool. They also offered free beverages, which is a nice touch. There are numerous rooms at this two-story property. Nice outdoor walkways within the property.

The front desk welcomed me with genuine warmth and quickly had me into a very clean and comfortable room with good bed and bedding, mini fridge, microwave, small table and chairs and flatscreen TV with lots of channels. The pool area is very nice and hot tub is just right. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Easy freeway access. Marianna was a pleasure at the front desk.

Next to a 24 hr gas station it didn't feel safe. We only stayed one night.

The room was clean and the staff was accommodating. However we probably had the worst room in the entire place. It was so farthest away from the pool area which is lovely. And it was the closest to the busy street and quite loud. It was 61° and the pool was not heated so that was a bummer. Overall I got my money's worth that's what was important.

It was an enjoyable stay. Not the ritz but definitly a nice peaceful emviroment. With a pool and a hot tub that both were in workinf order and enjoyable.

False advertising, stating online when I made the reservation that hot breakfast is served but that was false! Only coffee was available. No grab bars in the shower, no holders to hang towels, no mirror besides the one over the bathroom sink that didn’t drain well. No staff at the registration desk when we checked out. Had to call out for someone to come out. Hallway to our room looked like it has not been swept, stuff on the floor were there when we checked in, still there 2 days later when we checked out. However, we’re thankful that we were given accommodation. Thank you

We called the front desk and explained that we had specifically booked a renovated room. We were surprised by their response — they said that because we booked through Hotels.com/Expedia, that was the type of room we would get. We explained that it shouldn’t matter which website we used to book; the room should match what was advertised. After discussing the issue, they moved us to a different room that was a little better. Josh was very helpful in finding us another room, and we appreciated his assistance. Overall, you get what you pay for. If you just need a place to sleep for one night, it’s fine. Just don’t let the pictures fool you.

The area is a bit noisy but OK when the windows are closed. I like the fact you can open the windows. Walking distance to many eateries. Overall I enjoyed my visit and would stay here again.

They have people living there on a month to month basis, this creates less than comfortable situations when the people next door to your room are getting into domestic violence situations at 3am and you got work at 5am! They should’ve offered me a discount but they didn’t! They didn’t seem surprised those types staying within their property. Other weirdos observed as well!

The bed was very comfortable, the location was easily accessible from a major freeway and the room had everything I needed for my short stay. My ratings and review are based on this being a budget hotel. My only complaint, and it is minor, is the air conditioner in the room was loud, and it was constantly cycling on and off throughout my entire stay. Fortunately, it did not disrupt my sleep, but it may do so for others.

Room needs big updates. Water faucet needs to be repaired it's loose and it sprays to the side. And when I try to get into the room the door was sticking which ended up taking three tries to get it open and the remote control to the TV was not working properly otherwise it was okay

Staff was all so kind. I wcarried big and lots of luggages and they changed the 2nd floor room to ground floor.

Our room had stiff old bed that was difficult to sleep on. The previous stay we experienced here had a better mattress. For some reason our second (and last) stay offered us a bed with little comfort. If half our visits are going to be uncomfortable, we’d rather go somewhere else.

very cute community, its a large campus. The service was super friendly. The hot tub was great, it was a beautiful evening watching the stars from the hot tub.

It was a good room and the first staff member was great. They gave a random guy a key to our room and they didn’t even know my name.

Enjoyed the relaxing stay and the local neighborhood to walkable stores. We didn’t have to drive anywhere. Gated court yard that felt safe and the room had a kitchen which felt like a home.

We were pleasantly surprised to find such a charming facility available for budget prices. The courtyard, the trees and the pool and hot tub were all excellent and well maintained. No wonder they were entirely booked full!

I like the fact that is right off the 805 freeway. It is clean and it has a microwave, fridge and a 2 burner stove. No plates or silverware, bring disposable. They have a pool and hot tub. Tea and coffee only in the morning, no food stuffs. This probably is why they can keep a low price. There are vending machines. For $81/night you can't beat it.

We had stayed here before about 12 years ago, and it hadn't changed much. I like it because it's centrally located with easy access to 805. It's not fancy, but it is clean. And for $81/night you get a fridge, microwave and 2 burner stove. No dishes or silverware so bring some disposable stuff. Relatively quiet. They have a pool and hot tub. They offer tea and coffee till 11:00, no breakfast or anything, which is probably why they can keep the cost down. Overall I would stay here again on my next visit.

We’ve stayed there multiple times and they continue to improve the complex. Room was quiet and on second floor. Noted a couple of maintenance issues that needed attention. The tub spout dripped constantly. Maintenance needed on cleaning grates and filters of bath fan and main Ac/ heater. Overall great room spacious and clean

The bed and pillows were great! There was a smell in the bathroom that was unpleasant the whole stay. The room was less than clean and very old. Loud noises throughout the complex for various reasons. When we were leaving there were property updates being done that were very noticeable!

This was a clean, comfortable stay and I would be willing to stay here again, but there are a few things that I wish I had known ahead of time that may have affected my decision to book. My room was marketed as a suite with a kitchenette. However, there was no cooking equipment or kitchen equipment at all. There wasn’t even dish soap or a sponge. I had never been to a place that said you had a kitchenette in your room but then provided no supplies. I had brought my own pan, spatula, and paper goods because I didn’t know what to expect ahead of time, but it was a bummer that nothing was provided. I had to grab some dish soap and a sponge at Walmart. Also, the cooktop- the main reason I booked this room, barely worked at all. It took almost 10 minutes to fry an egg in the pan because it just wouldn’t heat up. You can hear everything going on in the room above you and beside you. I could hear every single word of conversations happening next door and the people did not seem to be raising their voices. It was a bit frustrating late at night. The people were just talking and not doing anything to cause a disturbance, the walls were just too thin. Lastly, the tv never did work. The maintenance man came in and changed the batteries in the remote and it changed channels about two clicks up and then stopped working again so relaxing and watching some tv wasn’t really an option either. So, a comfy, pretty clean place with polite staff, but may not be for everyone.

The mattress was difficult to sleep on due to it drooping down far too low, when my wife and I slept on this queen size bed, we had to strive to stay out of the center or we would be pulled uncomfortably towards the center, not allowing us to sleep flat but more in a hunched type of position.

My grandson loved the pool. The Jacuzzi was OK. It wasn’t very warm. There was a kitchenette in each room, but there was nothing to cook with so you would’ve had to bring or buy all your cooking utensils which was really strange. Normally when you get a kitchenette there’s cooking utensils in it. They were doing construction on the whole front end and we couldn’t figure out how to get in. And when I said something to the front desk when I got there, they said oh well we’re having Ta Repair things. I had to drag my suitcases over a bunch of cords and extension cords, which was a hassle after a long day of traveling and then having to do that was very inconvenient. Nothing that was mentioned when I booked my reservations. The people that were on both sides of us were very loud and noisy throughout the night, which made a very restless night.

The facility are very old and needs renovation.

Would’ve been nice to have a microwave in the room and not have to go to the lobby. It also would have been nice to have hot chocolate or something for kids, although we did enjoy the tea and coffee.

The property looked really nice, the room was so clean, carpets, beds, drawers, all of it. Very comfy spacious room. It even had two closets and one was fairly large. I’m really happy with my stay here and would stay here again.

It’s unique in its own way. But it definitely needs an upgrade. Carpet had a funny smell. There was two used towels left in the shower. The pillows were not comfortable and the bed was VERY noisy. Every time someone shifted sleep positions the bed sounded like it was going to break. Some of the lamps had rust on it.

Compared to the other offerings in the viciniity it was utilitarian and fine for an overnight business stay. TV had little to offer. No coffee set up. Confusing controls for the heater. No blanket (when I asked for one the night manager brought it to the room quickly). All in all it was a good value.

Beds were comfy even if they are on the older side. Hotel was clean and the room was nice. My only complaint is that there arent enough mirrors for more than 1 person. The hot tub was amazing and made the stay more enjoyable. Parking was easily found in the hotel lot

Sometimes the showers a little funky but other than that can be lived with. Good morning my head the receptacle kept blowing the fuses to the lights so that was a painful little bit till I figured it out and took care of it. I'm a general contractor I didn't have to bug anybody but I did let the staff know when I was leaving that they had an issue which one of the gfi's.

The run was very unkept the floors made my feet black. In the closet there were piles of dead roaches, in the sink before we even put our stuff down in the bathroom there was hair shavings everywhere. There was rust on the showerhead and drains. The room had a very foul smell. It smelled like someone’s dirty clothes was all over the room at some point. Period other than that, the staff was very friendly very accommodating, but it was extremely uncomfortable. I’m really glad that I brought my own comforter to sleep on and had sandals.

I do NOT recommend this place to stay unless you really have no other options.

This hotel was not in a pleasant area, frankly I’m surprised it’s on Expedia because this is a hotel where people can rent weekly or monthly. The worst part of this hotel is that our room smelled like smoke despite it being a non smoking room, we left feeling like we had smoked an entire pack of cigarettes. I would never stay at this place again or recommend it to anyone ever.

They do not serve breakfast as advertised. They wont clean ur room or give you anything extra or clean towels. You have to walk to the office and get it yourself. The phones dont work. Just dont. This is my 3rd time staying at this location. I usually come to town for work, or school and this is the most convenient place to stay at a great price! I love the staff; they are always friendly and offer help any time we need anything. I don't think I have anything to complain about to be honest.

Great staff, nicely groomed grounds, strange room. No microwave, dishes, silverware, plates, fridge has no freezer. Bathroom sink located in the kitchen, so if the light is turned on then you wake up the folks sleeping next to the kitchen, the entrance door was difficult to open and close. No coffee maker or amenities.

I traveled for work, and the internet was slow. I didn't explore the hotel or visit the pool. Overall, everything was ok.

First off the phone in the room didn’t work so I cant call front desk to file a noise COMPLAINT. I had to walk out of my room and walked to the front desk and then the back door is locked. I checked in late. In the short trip to my room, I saw two prostitutes on property. Also despite the "No smoking" signs on the doors, the distinct smell of marijuana abound. You could not pay me to stay here again.

Our room was right above the gate door and all we heard all night was the slamming gate door every time it was opened and closed all night and morning. It’s nothing special of a hotel. The towels are rough as heck

The room was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully maintained, and the amenities and location made everything incredibly convenient. i wish i could give 3 and a half stars instead of 4, but it was closer to 4 than 3. the rooms were clean, albeit they are pretty old school. we had an issue the first night with our microwave not working, but the staff was super awesome and got us a new one in less than 5 minutes. overall a good stay, felt safe, comfortable and clean bed, how water from the shower.

It's a homeless shelter. The bed was broken, the shower head was broken, there were homeless everywhere and the parking is not secured. Had our trucks broken into.

Staff as usual was exceptional, the room was nice. Every thing was good. Only problem, there was a lot of people talking outside of our room late at night, but it was Valentine weekend, so people were out and about. Still very content, comfortable night sleep.

felt safe in this hotel. Nice pool and spa. Plenty of parking, even for large vehicles. Room was clean and had lots of storage for clothes, etc. Exterior seems to be under construction in spots, but overall is nice. The layout, having all interoir facing rooms in two areas feels like a mini resort.

We stayed here for a 2day softball tournament. Needed a cheap room close to freeway & this fit the bill perfectly. It’s a vintage place but clean & neat. The rooms are large & spacious w/ laminate flooring & good large size mini-fridge (freezer bit actually freezes) which we really appreciated. Walking distance to a bunch of great food options - Asian, Mediterranean & Cuban - great perk. Ice machine was plentiful & hot tub was big. Pretty much all we needed in a place to sleep after long days at the ball park. Coffee was really good too!

Actually, I stayed here for one night to take the police physical exam nearby. The best part was that there was a swimming pool and spa pool, it was very clean and quiet, and the room had everything I needed. In particular, there was a refrigerator, microwave, induction cooktop, sink, plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, and soap, and the heating and cooling were adjustable. The desk staff were especially friendly, and the person in charge of the desk was provided with free coffee. It was cheap and clean, and they had a raffle. And I passed my police physical test today 😭!!! I guess I just got lucky here.

Overall, low cost and ok experience. Bedding had someone' hair in it and there was a bottle cap on the floor when we arrived in the room. Toilet and fridge made weird sounds but worked. Parking on the property was usually ok but the building layout can be confusing; on one occasion a maintenance vehicle was blocking the entrance so we had to circle back quite a ways to the nearest intersection and back to the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd (top) floor and the whole building was getting roof work done so there was a lot of morning noise during our stay.

Great value hotel, excellent central location to almost anywhere in SD. Rooms are older but also larger due to that so the extra space is appreciated. Ive stayed 4 times and keep coming back, great staff, plenty of off street parking, reasonably quiet given the proximity to major roads. Some rooms have large closets to stage suitcases and personal stuff like shoes. Wifi was good i always recommend using a VPN as well. I did not get a room with a kitchen (intentional) but there are rooms you could cook in. Bed was comfortable as were the pillows all in all an excellent budget hotel to staybat when in SD.

We had family staying in a different room and were kept up all night from a couple arguing next door. People are living at this hotel.

This is an older property from what I can tell. But, for the price, it worked for me. It is located within walking distance to several restaurants and fast food places. It's reasonably quiet and clean. I liked it as it was nearby to MCAS Miramar where I was working at. Overall, I'd stay here again.

This is not reflected in the pictures with greenery etc. Outer rooms were adjacent to the main street, so it was quite noisy with a noisy dated air conditioner as well. Not worth the price. I had a live cockroach in the towel/ soap roll on the edge of the tub, which I tried to catch but couldnt. He ran under the fridge. Booked 5 nights 1st night we checked In late due to issue with our flight, asked for quite room we were given room right next to highway very noisy. The next morning I asked to be moved and the desk associate told me she has a nice room available near the pool. As I started to get my things ready she came to the room and asked for the key back and said that room wasn’t available and would give us a diffusion when available. She did give us another room and this room overlooked a gas station, very disappointing and the hallways were very dingy and the room looked much nicer online and would rate a 3 out of a 10

This was the worst hotel I stayed as long as I can remember. Extremely noisy a/c unit that didn’t even work correctly. Throwing burnt smell. Dirty floors, they offer Top stove but not even a small pan or pot to heat water. Unit itself didn’t look like a superior queen that I reserved. Too much to list.

The rooms with kitchens are pretty awesome but there is no cookware cups plates utensils etc so it’s kind of a contradiction unless you decide to bring your kitchen with you. The staff is friendly in total. Over all it was not a bad stay. I did go to this specific location because of the kitchenette portion of it so you can just imagine how thrilled I was when I found out even though none of the cookware was in the room they did not provide it at the front desk either.

The room was extremely small and there was only one working light in the room. The shower and faucet had very poor water pressure. Carpets were dirty and felt sticky. Overall not a nice hotel and would never book again.

I wasn't expecting 😕 this place to look the way it did it needs a big update and also you can hear the freeway cars all night the bed was 2 firm and uncomfortable also my fridge wasent working properly

This hotel was alright. We paid for a renovated room but there was a roach. And the front desk staff could’ve been friendlier.

The rooms are small we didnt use the kitchenette. Wish it had a microwave. Overall was clean and comfortable. The pool and hottub where great. Down the street from lots of food options and walmart Would stay again.

Property was dated, but I saw staff cleaning and working on things. Did not like the homelessness around and on the property.

We stayed for one night and it sufficed - would probably not stay for two night. I don’t know if we just got a bad room but the bed was awful. Creaked and shook when getting in and moving around and we thought we were going to fall through the bed during the night. Area felt a little sketch, but it was alright! Like I said, it was fine for a one night stay.

Vending machines didn't work

The first night was not that good. The room that we stayed in smelled, had ants, the beds were hard with the pillows were very lumpy and had some other issues. We got in late so we couldn't change rooms that day. The next day I went to the office to see if I can a different room because of the issues that the room had. They were more than happy to switch rooms for us. The second room was better. It smelled clean there was no ants. The only thing was the beds. My bed felt that I was going to sink in the middle of it and the pillows were the same as the first room. It was not a bad place to stay for the price.

We booked the renovated room and it was still quite old and really dirty carpet. The restroom is small and the side/back parking just seems sketchy.. We had to book almost last minute to attend funeral. For the price, the quality is very low. If it was less expensive it’s ok for a 1 or 2 night trip.

Bed mattress is the worst I’ve ever experienced. Air conditioning unit super loud right above the bed. Door in between rooms is not secured. Simple latch only I found the door partially opened when I arrived in my room. Didn’t feel safe sleeping thinking the door can just be pushed open with very little force.

Very calm

It is a great place to stay for vacation it is not too far from everything such as beaches and downtown. I did also have a car rental which helped but this location is in the middle of everything.

The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything. I did feel unsafe just parking my car. The room was a nice size.

Very nice for the price. Secured with gate access. Rooms face cute, well kept courtyard. Room was clean, enough pillows provided. Shower head installed too low, but excellent water pressure. My back got a nice massage!

I saw mixed reviews about this hotel but it was great!! The room came with a great mini fridge and microwave!! Also loved that it was right by the freeway. Only thing I really didn’t like was the parking lot, It could use some work. Don’t get me wrong there’s plenty of parking, but also lots of potholes that you have to maneuver around.

I had a terrible sleep because the beds made such a horrible squeak noise every time I moved.

I found this property excellent. I'm not sure why there is only 2 stars when there should be 4+. There's a great sense of pride and care, whether this be new owners, not sure but you can sense it. I will definitely stay here again.

This place is definitely worth it's price point. I was a bit disappointed we didn't get a room this time that had the full kitchen with a stove so I could cook, but there's so much around especially within walking distance that makes staying here worth every penny.
