Hotel Mansion del Valle

The hotel’s location is excellent, in a fairly central area of San Cristóbal. The hotel is quiet, and the room was clean and aesthetically pleasing. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming. We arrived late at night after a transfer from Palenque. When we got to San Cristóbal, it was very cold, and the room was extremely freezing — to the point that we had to wear coats inside. There was no heating option in the room. The room remained that cold in the following days, even around noon when it was warm outside. We were given a room with an internal window facing the corridor leading to the other rooms, with no additional window. Although there is a photo like this on the website, in practice the room was very dark all the time, and it wasn’t possible to open the curtain because people were constantly walking by in the corridor. To their credit, we were offered the option to move to another room with an external window the next morning, but we weren’t able to do so because we were in a hurry to be picked up for a tour. I believe these rooms should be priced differently and more clearly indicated. In addition, we were unable to understand why we were given this room when there were available rooms in the hotel, at the same price level and, according to them, of the same quality, that faced outside.

Great location, large comfortable room.

Very clean. Comfortable bed. Good sized room and large bathroom. House cleaning was very nice and helpful, worked hard to clean my room as I was sick for 2 days. I would stay here again. No heat. Was able to get a portable heater which was very helpful. Somewhat loud from noise in hallways at times.

Decent breakfast and friendly staff. Location is good too. Room was clean. Room assigned to us was noisy. Bathroom was very small. San Cristobal has many good places to stay. Shop around.

Great place to stay!

Central location, clean and very comfortable beds. Helpful people at the reception (but very poor English). Good price for quality. The hotel is much ‘darker’ than the pictures. No great atmosphere and unfriendly staff at breakfast.

Excellent hotel in downtown, our room was superb and the accomodation very comfortable and worth the price. The staff is really wonderful and the real value added of the hotel. The restaurant too is very good

Location All was good

Excellent spacious hotel away from the noisy streets near a square , church and museum. One of the beds was hard and there was no hand soap in the sink.

The food and the room was small and stuffy

It’s beautiful! It’s a modern Spanish inside with details of the culture in San Cristobal. Super clean and fresh inside even without having AC. The private parking lot is closed off with a gate and it made us feel reassured about our rental car. It’s about three blocks from el Centro y catedral de San Cristobal.

Toilet with window to the public space

Excellent location at walking distance from pedestrian corridors. Also, we liked the secured parking for our rental car and the wide variety of food choices of the breakfast buffet. We knew in advance that the noise from rolling luggage would get amplified by the tiled floors at early hours. Even though the bells of the nearby La Merced Temple toll around 7 AM anyway.
