Courtyard by Marriott San Antonio Lackland

The room was clean but a little stuffy. We couldn’t get the room to a decent temperature. The bed was very hard. Overall, decent stay.

This hotel is in a great location. THAT IS IT! … I switched rooms 3 times! First room had writing on the wall in the bathroom and a toilet that screamed when you flushed it. Second room had ants crawling out the heater. Maintenance came to fix it with a can of Raid and sticking paper towels in the vents of the heater. The third room I saw had a bad old mildew smell. Housekeeping advised because the hotel is old it has that smell they can’t get rid of in some rooms. Eventually, my child, and handicapped mother settled on the fourth room after a long day at Sea World, only to find dirty, mildew and mold in the bathroom the next morning. Luckily, we were leaving that day. I left mentally and physically exhausted from all the moving and the condition on the hotel. Definitely my first and last time staying at a Courtyard by Marriott, if this is how their hotels are kept and ran.

Can’t say enough about the staff. Very very friendly, outgoing and helpful. Even though this is an older property, it’s still a Marriott and great stay for the price. We were in town for an Air Force graduation and the proximity to Lackland AFB is amazing and easy to get back and forth. Definitely recommend and would stay here again hands down.

Ethel was very sweet and professional. Overall everything was great. The only issue we had in our room was a weird noise we kept hearing. Breakfast was good but only have one person taking orders and cooking so it took so long but it was good.

Clean room, friendly staff, free parking, wifi is great, location is great. We enjoyed our stay for our son's BMT graduation. There's restaurants nearby we had lunch at Vallarta it was great food. Overall, it's nice hotel and quiet environment. There's a small pool that we didn't get to use due to busy schedule, there a small gym, water refill, ice maker, laundry room. We enjoyed our 3 nights here.

i like that the property was close to seaworld. the rooms we’re cleaned. .The beds were comfortable. I had a King Suite it was roomy. I loved parking was free and onsite. i did not like that the suites was not handicap accessible so it was hard for me to get my mom on and off the toilet. The side doors was not working. i had to walk around to the front although my room was on the side. Ms Ethel the front desk clerk was nice nasty. she was not helpful at all. Anything you ask of her was a nice no we can’t do that because u book through a third party. She would not even try to accommodate. i asked her could someone light the fire pit outside. it was no in a nice way. i don’t have a lighter. On the other hand when dayshift came in Ms Sonja would try and help with anything you ask. She was a breath of fresh air compared to the evening shift Ms Ethel. We didn’t eat breakfast or dinner because the freezer was broken and please don’t go there thinking you are going to be in a full fledged restaurant because it’s not.

The room was okay however, I found debris in the corner next to the bed. (there was a Cheetos curl on the floor) Some of the front desk staffers were nice. The one staffer was very ill and checked us in not wearing a mask which she should have been wearing while her nose was runny, she was coughing and her voice was corse. Breakfast was pathetic, would have been better going to a McDonalds or Ihop. Example, I asked for a cup of Decaf coffee and was given an 8oz cup with a single shot of espresso in it. I asked the girl behind the counter "what is this" and she told me it's what I ordered, a Decaf coffee. She obviously didn't know the difference between Decaf and Espresso, then she offered to fill the rest of that coffee cup with milk. My sister and I stood there scratching our heads!!! So I would be paying for a cup of warm milk with a splash of espresso when all I wanted was a cup of decaf coffee. If they offer complimentary Reg coffee, why not also offer complementary Decaf? Parking was awesome. Very safe parking lot, lots of lights around.

Many hotels provide complimentary breakfast. Not this one. Surprised at cost of bkfst as well. Coffee was cold and there was a lack of choice in creamer. One (2% milk) was available. Shower head was obnoxious. Have stayed at many Marriott hotels. This was towards bottom of list.

Pros: location Cons: old and rusted rooms and pool, the bistro run by 2 poor ladies taking entire hotel orders customized to the last ingredient, couldn't eat there.

Pool water was freezing unable to enjoy.

Unfortunately, things escalated when we began experiencing what we believed to be bedbug-related issues. After two nights of itching and discomfort, we made the difficult decision to cut our family trip short and return home early. This was especially upsetting as this was a spring break trip for my daughters, and we missed out on planned activities and experiences in San Antonio. While the hotel did provide a refund, the response from management lacked accountability and empathy for the situation. There was little acknowledgment of the disruption to our trip or the condition concerns we raised. Overall, this experience caused significant inconvenience, loss of time, and added stress to what was supposed to be a memorable family vacation. I would strongly encourage future guests to carefully consider their options before staying at this location.

There was no ice in the ice machines on 3/4 floors, we paid extra for a balcony room & didnt get to get that specific room, the pool was freezing everyday we went & the rooms had food & trash from past guests when we arrived.

Ethel checked us in and she was great! The bartender was a great conversationalist and any staff we encountered were so nice! Our rooms were very clean and I loved the layout, it felt roomy. The beds were comfortable and there wasn't a lot if noise from the highway near-by, thankfully.

And she just said she wouldn’t reply to me she will only speak to a different member of my party. The evening person working was great (Rebecca I think) but Ethel was incredibly rude: will never stay here again.

The room was great, the staff was amazing, especially Gilbert at the front desk. He went out of his way to ensure I had a great stay and made me feel very welcome. Give that man a raise! 10/10

A few things weren't good. The bathroom wasn't ckean and had just 2 towels. The mattress was terrible, completely worn-out. There wasn't fresh coffee in the lobby although it said :freshly brewed coffee" in reality it was 100% cold the whole day. The people running the "bistro" didn't know how to prepare or didn’t have the ingredients for things on their menu.

The kids LOVED the pool and I loved the hot tub! The fact they open the pool early in the morning we were able to get use out of it twice! Along with the cornhole boards and outdoor seating area. Front gate being locked on 410 so have to turn before gps says, but not a huge deal!

The staff was absolutely amazing, beds comfy, hallways quiet, hotel rooms and grounds clean! Check in was a breeze. All staff was helpful not just the front desk. Front Gate being locked, had to circle back around to get to it, however, understand why its locked.

It was convenient for the trip I went for a funeral Some one on the staff was in our room after we check in and left our luggage in the room.. He was coming out of our room with a coffee pot and said he was replacing it with another one. No tv service on our second second day there. Very disappointed!!!

Overall we enjoyed the stay, nice rooms and friendly staff! Mike the bartender is awesome and it was clean! I wished they had a better hotel store because it was a bit limited but I'm sure depending on location decides demand! We went for an airforce graduation so it was a perfect stay for what we needed!

Overall, I had a good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. Only two things (although minor) that I’d recommend for improvement: include more USB ports and include free continental breakfast. The Bistro was very nice, but the breakfast options were limited and should be complimentary, like many other hotels.

Great location! A lot close to us. Great service! The hot tube actually worked and was our favorite. The pool was freezing but our 9 year old still swam. All was good except our tv did not work. They looked at it and offered to move us to a different room but when you’re already settled it’s hard to move all your stuff and get resettled. Maybe placing different tv in the room would have been a better solution. Overall great stay. Would stay there again.

This is an older property that needs some work. Bathroom was dated and needed a good cleaning because there was visible mold in some areas. I like the location, and the safety. I stay here with my kids and family and appreciate to not have to worry for my family. But with all of that I wish the breakfast was included. With kids it is much easier to have breakfast at the hotel then to get dressed to go. I would stay here again. Major big store are near by in case you need anything. And will recommend to everyone

Had two police response monitors in the parking lot. Towels were left out of our room when room service came to clean. I had to go to the front desk to get more. The noise from the highway made it difficult to sleep. People around me and upstairs were very noisy.

Love staying here for staycations. Accessibility to food & shopping. The rooms are spacious and modern. Great staff. Very friendly.

Excellent customer service, room was nicely cleaned highly recommended, Pool was nice and clean definitely will come back. Everything that I expected to be great place to stay with family.

I tried to call the property to find out the intersection and was transferred to a voicemail. Left a message-didn't get a return phone call. Front desk person did not know how to set a wakeup call. My room phone would not let me do it. Bar selection was limited.

My girlfriend and I got threatened by the staff and police officers when a candle triggered a fire alarm and maintenance said it smelled like a candle not cigarettes, then said he would turn the fire alarm off but failed to do so for over 3 hours then police came over and told me I have my rights, and if I caused any issues then he would personally remove us, and if the front desk wanted us to leave then they were obligated to refund my money. The front desk came shortly harassing the two of us saying we needed to leave and that they would refund my travel planner. And I would receive my money back I left and received 3 unorganized charges totaling$160 after I was told I wasn't. The staff made treats and where unprofessional

The worst Courtyard Ive ever stayed in. Cockroaches in the bathroom and hallways, the pool was indoor, tiny and dirty, the hot tub was brown, and the cafe was poor quality and out of basic items.

The couch pull out bed was filthy. When I originally booked the hotel through Expedia it had stated continental breakfast only to find out there was no breakfast offered. Key card was constantly deactivated.

The shower shampoo, conditioner and body conditioner were not able to be used. They were not in the open position.

Did not like that someome went in our room while we were gone to take out trash.

The property is in a great location. It isn’t the newest hotel. It is dated, but decent.

Loved this property. It was a perfect location for a weekend of celebrating a toddler birthday and going to SeaWorld.

Bathroom had black and pink mold, and hair, bed sheets had yellow stains, couch was stained, breakfast is 40 dollars per person, the lobby had no ac, towels were rough. Toilet paper was single ply.... is more like a motel six than a hotel.

I don’t know what happened to the Standards of Marriott. Our room was easily a motel caliber room, nothing I would expect out of a Marriott. The smell was really bad, the only reason I didn’t make a fuss was because my son was graduating BMT at the air force and we were out most of the day. We wanted to come back and relax but the smell was horrible(similar to dirty wet clothes), carpet felt sticky as if it was wet and dirty. The only plus was the location was 10-15m away from the base.

Pillow covers smelled bad Lots of hairs on the restroom floor.

Fridge didn’t work. Needed it for medication

There was a lot that was in disrepair. The ice maker in the hall, shower rod and curtain in the room, ice build-up in the refrigerator, mold above the showerhead in the bathroom, wallpaper peeling by the tub, drywall crumbling by the tub. Bathrooms by the lobby closed for repair.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Easy to converse with as well. The rooms were fine but could definitely use an update, wallpaper was coming off the walls. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.

no restrooms functioning on first floor, my children had to move to another room since the one they got was not cleaned properly.

The property was nice and quiet. Dining options were good. Parking was fair. The staff was nice.

We always try and stay at Marriott hotels because we always have a wonderful stay the rooms always super clean and nice but this stay was awful I don’t know if it was the location or area but man I was left down the room seemed dirty or at least the carpet was and the restroom curtain had mold and was all ripped there was no soap the swimming pools was closed so my kids were upset just a let down I recommend Marriott hotel just not this one !! I wanted to upload pictures but it’s not giving me that option

Palm trees around the property are all dead. There’s a folding card table for a front desk. The lobby carpet is torn up and patched in other spots poorly. Our room was not ready at check in time and we had to sit around for 40 minutes till they found a serviced room for us. Our room was filthy, hand prints on all the glass and mirrors dirt and dust on all the furniture. The carpet had large stains in it. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at!

Although there was a little construction in the front desk area, everything was fine. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly. We enjoyed our quiet stay.

This hotel is too old, small tvs the rooms just look old like from the 90s. They need a complete renovation entirely!

Got to the hotel and the hotel was under renovations. The hotel didn't offer disounts of any sort and too late to switch hotels. We were in town for our sons Airforce Graduation for 3 nights and our schedule was very busy and hectic.

Renovation sucks

The woman at the front desk did an amazing job of handling things and being polite. However, she didn’t resolve any of the issues or offer any sort of compensation. I’m actually very disappointed with hotels.com for misrepresenting the hotel. Maybe the owner or Marriot corporate should’ve shut down the hotel during the renovation. Overall, bad choice.

Overall, my stay was fair. I was just there for the weekend.

They try to charge my card without my approval. I had to close my card.

Hotel is very outdated. You can hear everything from other rooms and you can hear people walking everywhere.

Location was great for San Antonio. 15 minutes from most tourist attractions.

The first room they offered had a horrible smell to is, the second room they offered us had not been cleaned, the third room had writing on the walls in the bathroom. Our truck was broken into in their parking lot. I can't get to the manager and they offered no help what so ever with anything. It was AWFUL

This is a nice hotel. Close to the 410 freeway. Only 10 minutes to the airport. It’s about 20 minutes to downtown and to Lackland Air Force base.

Didn't get daily room service....and no breakfast available due to main cook Didn't show up to work.

Room and bathroom were clean and bed very comfortable.

average hotel, little worn down, lock the main doors at dark as area is unsafe.

Customer service was good

The front desk staff all was nice and professional. The pool area needs work. The bathrooms wasnt that clean. The water didn't get hot.

Very nice location

The property is located near a busy street/highway. My stay was four nights. I had to change rooms because of the noise after the first night My stay was much better for the remaining nights.

We loved it. Beds and room was very clean. Place i would reserve for future.

The room was super hot!

Front desk was great, room was clean. My only concern was the safety of our vehicle and the property. It was obvious theft is an issue hence the signs everywhere in the parking lot and one night we even witnessed a man up to no good in the parking lot and across the street. I know this is no fault to Marriott but safety is important and hard to sleep when you feel you have to check the window to make sure your vehicle is ok. One other thing we noticed are the windows that need a good cleaning because it makes it difficult to see out of. Other then that great hotel. Thanks for listening.

The staff made this such an enjoyable weekend getaway. Location is superb for sea world/downtown travel. 15-20 minutes in each direction. The black out curtains allowed me to actually sleep in for a change. Thank you
