Reviews
The hotel reviews collectively indicate a very poor experience for most guests. The majority of the reviews highlight issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and outdated facilities.
- Staff was friendly and helpful in some instances
- Location was convenient for some guests
- Extreme lack of cleanliness mentioned in numerous reviews
- Outdated facilities and maintenance issues were frequently cited
- 3/5
Rooms are outdated and need maintenance work. Beds were clean. It will do for a quick nights stay on a budget.
- 4/5
We lost power and had to stay at a hotel cause of the temperature. Room was nice, cool, and the bed was comfortable. Will come back!!!!!
- 5/5
Everything went well, friendly staff. Good coffee and breakfast in the morning. Nothing I can think of to make things better at this time.
- 2/5
Door to our room was messed up we had to struggle to get the lock to work. Font door glass was busted up.
- 5/5
Good Stay
- 3/5
The room was clean & the breakfast was good, however the building itself was reminiscant of a 1950s motel! Hasn't been updated in a while! Also there's no elevator, just an over heated stairwell.
- 5/5
Everything was good and the staff was professional
- 1/5
dirty and run down, never again
- 2/5
Several lights, the microwave, and outlets did not work.
- 5/5
It was very clean and the beds were heavenly.
- 3/5
The beds were very comfortable, sliding glass doors were dirty at the bottom, pretzel laying on the floor when we got there. Not the hotel fault, but on the second day we were there, a dog started yelping at 6 and didn’t stop until 6:45. Also not your fault but went to use the washer & dryer and someone had their laundry in the wash, sat around for 2 1/2 hours waiting to use the washer , a guy came and said oh it must be my cousins, he pulls the laundry out and pulls a lighter out of the back pocket. I’m sure they stared the laundry lastnight & just left it , they had another bag they had to wash also sitting on the dryer, I pointed out to the person the signs that you’re not supposed to leave your laundry. Did use the pool which was nice, they were spraying for weeds and the grounds looked nice. Breakfast was good. Like I said some things are not the hotels fault.
- 1/5
Pool was cold. Hot tub was colder. Floating leaves and a green slimy bottom.
- 3/5
It was Ok for affordable lodging, but are room had some issues with the bathroom. Nothing that would be considered a show stopper, be on the lookout if you choose to stay there.
- 2/5
My room was very old and in poor condition. I found trash under the tv cabinet, the cabinet was scotch taped on the top edges, stained carpet, the sliding glass door was filthy. I was shocked at the condition of my room. Then the back door I had to enter thru was broken and didn't lock which worried me for safety purposes because it backed up to woods and was not well lit.
- 1/5
No internet dirty pool rusted and dirty
- 5/5
The staff was helpful and friendly; the rooms and amenities were nice; the price was reasonable. The only issue I had was that the exhaust fan in the bathroom wasn't working, so every shower left the bathroom covered in moisture.

The broken sliding glass door. It was creepy. They made a home made lock for it but I still did not feel safe

- 4/5
The staff was very helpful and pleasant. It has been a good stay. Amenities were exceptional. I would recommend Baymont. Excellent value for the price.
- 5/5
Nice stay. Good price in comparison to others around. The hotel is a little older. Bathrooms could be updated. Took forever for the water to get hot, didnt even have the cold water on. Maybe its a 2nd floor issue? Lobby reeked of smoke, even though it is a non-smoking hotel. At least the room didnt smell of smoke at all. Breakfast is decent. Overall, a good stay, safe, and would recommend. Just start your shower early! 😆
- 2/5
I reservered 4 rooms and each room was not cleaned well prior to our arrival. We had to ask housekeeping to reclean several of the rooms. Even after the cleaning, it was not as clean as we'd like it. Sliding glass doors in each room were in terrible shape and in need of maintenance or replacement. Parking was good and breakfast was good too. For this trip we didn't need to stay in our rooms much, so overall the stay was tollerable.
- 2/5
Bathroom was filthy and toilet was not working. The facility is in poor condition. The breakfast was good though. I'd think twice about staying at a Baymont again.
- 1/5
NEVER AGAIN!!! The facility stunk like wet dogs. We got into our room and the commode did not work, the top lid of the toilet looked like it hadn't been wiped down in weeks, the floor was filthy with dirt, spills and hair, and the bathtub was scummy with soap residue and hair. I called the front desk about the unflushing commode and the filth. I was told maintenance and cleaning would be called right away. Maintenance got the toilet working but no one showed up to clean. After an hour we decided to check out and required a refund. It was denied. I told them I placed the reservation with expectations of cleanliness and THEY defaulted. Even Hotels.com would not make it totally right in refunding my money. SHAMEFUL!!!!
- 1/5
Don’t waste your $ on poor management and unsanitary conditions. More than one guest complained while I was speaking to management. Disgusting hotel.
- 2/5
Not good
- 3/5
It was clean but nothing special.
- 1/5
The rooms have broken sinks. The plugs and light switches we grubby like the never got cleaned. The sliding doors out of the rooms were stuck and have cob webs. We had no TV and the staff said it was the cable company. They would not do any about it. Like it was our fault. I wouldn't recommend that hotel to a person I hate.
- 3/5
Dated but clean. A/C didn’t work properly. Full cold blast or none at all. Had to sleep with off qas room was ice cold. They were booked so they could not change rooms. I was booked for 3 nights. They offered $30 compensation. That was an insult so we finally settled for $75. It was like negotiating buying a car. Beakfast left a lot to be desired. I knew going in it wasn’t top of the line motel but I was expecting basicsQ
- 1/5
The hotel smelled liked cigarette smoke from the moment we walked in. Got to our room and it was dirty. Dirt, crumbs and hair on the beds and in the bathroom. Floors were dirty, phone was unplugged and continued to smell like cigarette smoke. We left within 20 minutes.
- 5/5
we had a comfortable stay the staff was super sweet
- 3/5
Parking was good. Had to wait a bit for someone to assist me. The door to the room was stuck and you had to put your shoulder into it. They had problems with the TV again. It smelt and was clean. Found someones underwear under the bed
- 2/5
Starting with staff. They tried. We didn't see information that the suite we reserved was on 2nd floor and only accessible by stairway which made carrying two suitcases and ice chest quite difficult and my wife had knee problems and made going up and down steep stairs difficult. The major issue was electrical outlets in suite were dangerous. As the room did not have an alarm clock we brought our own and when we first plugged it in and then went to check in desk to see if someone could show us how to operate tv remote that had no instructions when we came back to room we smelled a burning smell and our our alarm clock overheated and turned into a paperweight. We were then unwilling to plug in our laptop as the damage could have been catastrophic. The helper who came to show us how to use the tv could not get it to work and later we figured out how to access 8 tv stations that were over the air stations and no cable stations would work, so we read in bed with lamps that had cords stretched to their limits so it was uncomfortable to say the least. Balcony did not open. Plus side bed was comfortable and we were serenaded by frogs out side the room until we finally adjusted to their croaking. Coffee in morning was warm. Mngment needs to be more in tune with deficient issues that need to be addressed. $140 for one night stay at this facility was not worth it. Only reason we picked this place was picture of two door mini frig that had separate freezer area to keep our items cold
- 1/5
The check in was quit easy as I had checked in on line already. I asked for a room not on the first floor and I was told my room was one of most desirable rooms in the hotel. The hotel whole way did not have a fresh smell! It smelt of cigarette smoke. Curtains in the room did not look clean the lock on the French window looked like it was broken and never properly fixed. The TV did not work. I prepaid premium dollar and did not get my moneys worth. I was very disappointed!
- 2/5
The room was well worn, the upholstery on the chair was filthy, hair and soap from previous resident still in the tub, Felt a little unsecure in the room
- 3/5
Checked in online and paid $25 for early check-in at 1pm. Arrived and went in to get my room keys and was told there were no rooms ready. I gave the gentleman the option to find a room or give my money back. After calling his housekeepers a couple of times, a room was located. Room was average. Limited TV channels. No coffee pot in room. No travel toiletries. You had to wait ten minutes in between toilet flushes. But since we were only there for a quick overnight stay, we just dealt with it. Probably would not recommend if staying more than one night. One of the only positives was that it was pet friendly.
- 1/5
Breakfast is terrible. We tried it for the first day and never went back for the other days of the stay. The bathroom door was broken and would not close. The room floor was dirty. The bathroom floor was streaked with paint. We requested a roll out bed but were told that there were none, somehow one magically appeared later. There is no coffee machine in the room. The second day of our stay half the lights went out. The hotel is very smoky smelling and the hallways are full of smoke and other smells. The staff was not rude but could have done an overall better job of customer service.
- 1/5
Didn’t stay bc it was so rundown and dirty. I could not allow my dog to sleep on the floor there.
- 1/5
Food quality was poor, only eggs that appered to be defrosted and microwaved, no meat selection, terribly weak coffee; room was dirty, even after rewiest to clean, especially the bathroom. There was old laundry and lots of dust under on bed. Entry door was very hard to open....
- 2/5
Distance was too far to Virginia tech said 30 minutes more like 50 minutes had three nights only stayed one night.
- 1/5
Before arriving, we specifically requested a first-floor room because: - I currently have a hip injury, - and we are traveling with a dog who uses a wheelchair. Despite disclosing this in advance, the hotel still placed us in an inaccessible room, offered no staff assistance whatsoever, and still charged us the full premium room rate. No help carrying luggage. No meaningful accommodation. No refund. No adjustment. No accountability from either the hotel or Hotels.com. Unfortunately, the room itself only made matters worse: - extremely poor water pressure, - the bathroom sink would not drain properly, - the shower dripped and ran loudly all night long, - and the toilet was visibly filthy inside upon arrival. I understand that availability issues happen. What I do not understand is how a hotel can knowingly place guests with disclosed mobility concerns into an inaccessible situation and then shrug their shoulders when those guests physically struggle to access the room. Tonight made an already painful travel day significantly harder than it needed to be. If accessibility, cleanliness, or basic room maintenance matter to you at all, book somewhere else.
- 5/5
The staff was fantastic, the room was very clean and nice, the grounds were beautiful and the breakfast was far better than I imagined, wish I could have stayed longer
- 3/5
The hotel is very tired and old.
- 5/5
Breakfast offered more food than i expected. Fresh and delicious
- 2/5
TV not working when checked in. Notified desk and eventually tech came and corrected the problem. Breakfast buffet somewhat less than other brand hotels.
- 2/5
The breakfast menu was decent .The bath towels were clean . The room/ hotel condition was very poor . We had to ask for a room change because the first room had a very strong smell of smoking . The room we were given next did not have the smoke smell but had a musky smell , had to open the window to make it tolerable . The bed sheets didn’t feel like they were cleaned ones . Parking was fine . The breakfast room staff was nice .
- 3/5
Nice breakfast, family atmosphere, comfortable bed, friendly travelers. Dated and not so well maintained beyond the lobby, thus the average rating. Walked through a small pool of water in front of the bathroom and hall doors in the middle of the night that hadn't been there at bedtime. Seemed to have been smoking visitors before me
- 3/5
Older motel that is need of renovation.
- 4/5
It was a fairly average place. Had all the necessities. Facility condition was below average. It felt quite safe.
- 4/5
My family had a good stay. Bonus was learning Elvis stayed here in the 70s. So cool.

Needed to get a break and get off the dark road during my trip. I pulled in and between the few hotels all together, Baymont was the most affordable so, as a frugal traveler, I made a reservation while sitting in the parking lot. Plenty of parking and brightly lit. This is important to woman traveling alone. It was somewhat late so lobby was quiet. Gentleman helped me right away and check in was a breeze. He was friendly and explained breakfast, showed me the ice machine and pointed me right to my room. The room was adequate for a sleep over. Everything was clean, had a microwave and a decent fridge. Plenty of clean towels and sheets. Really can't beat it for under $100. I travel a lot and have determined this will be my go to place when in this route.
- 2/5
Room was dirty, bed had black either mold or stains on mattress. Bathroom looked like they cleaned where you could see but not under the sink. Breakfast was nothing special.
- 5/5
Wonderful staff . Good breakfest. Nice clean rooms the location is nice too.
- 3/5
Not very clean floors needed a vacuum, bathroom floor was dirty. The room had a sliding door to a balcony that literally fell apart when it was opened. The pool was empty with muck and outdoor furniture in it. We had a group of 8 and we were very tired and just needed to rest.

Totally surprised!! I was was looking for an inexpensive one night stay on my trip from New Hampshire to Alabama. I selected this one since it was about half way. The hotel was near the interstate 81. The place was VERY clean and quiet. The room was very clean and the bed was great. The front staff was extremely helpful and polite. Check in was quick and easy. I would recommend this highly!!!!
- 1/5
First room, I stuck to the floor and the cat urine smell was horrific. Also found a cell phone sitting on the table. The hallways smelled like cigarettes and weed. There is no elevator, so be prepared. The breakfast the next morning wasn’t good, except waffles, no real choices. Staff was pleasant enough but the whole facility was horrible.
- 4/5
Place wasnt cleaned the best and there was a weird smell in the room. But the front desk person was great and so was the breakfast. Id go again if in town

The staff was very helpful in that I needed a refund for one of my nights and they helped me work through the process to make it happen!!
- 2/5
Room was fairly clean. Parking was fine. The bed broke when my wife sat on it (140lbs). When we called to complain, nobody was there to help. A new room was offered but the original room was part of a joined room reservation so we stayed not to disturb my daughter and her friends next door and they had no more joined rooms available. We were uncomfortable sleeping in fear that it would keep breaking if we moved. Channels on TV were horrible and couldn't connect to prime or netflix. View out window to pool & hottub was horrible (green and slimy). Smelled like cigarette smoke and cat pee covered by air fresheners in halls. My kids went to breakfast and decided the only thing good was the make-it-yourself waffle and coffee. I wouldn't recommend at all. Until they work on these things they should be labeled as a 2-star hotel.

Really really unclean/unkempt. All the plumbing in the bathroom didnt work quite right (drainage issues in sink and tub). Old *HARD* clothes and trash under the beds, hair everywhere, every furniature item had either a brown/orange or white stain. Sheets/towels werent changed every 2 days like the signs said.
- 5/5
A nice hotel, clean and neat. Price is excellent. We stay here all the time when going to see family in Roanoke. Loved the breakfast. Couldn't open the sliding door to go outside. Also we were very far from the lobby. With medical issues this was a long walk.

For the price it was clean, comfortable and a better than expected breakfast, but we likely will not return to this location on our two day drives to visit family. Only a few of the electrical outlets worked and you had to close the bathroom door to access the toilet. Very few sit-down restaurants for dinner nearby.

The hallway to the room had stained colored carpet. It smelled like cigarette smoke and mold. The handle entering was missing screws and did not secure. The room was a interior designers nightmare. Color patterns did not match (2 walls bluish and other two light grey, maroon drapes, dark brown skirting concealing curtain rod, tan skirting around bed frame). The furniture and lamps were mismatched and appeared were purchase at a garage sale or Goodwill. The beds rolled freely and a gap of about a foot from the headboard on the wall during the night as I slept. The bathroom was absolutely horrible. The mirror was new and seen in upgraded bathrooms. Unfortunately, it appeared to me to represent “lipstick on a pig”. The tub/shower was stained with soap scum. The grout was brownish, but whiter under the sink counter. The tiles along the wall did not match the floor. Furthermore there was dirt/grim in the corners under the sink counter. Additionally, there were wires from the wall into a box. No wall out let cover there as well to keep it secured. The repairs to prior damages lacked quality and appeared to be a poor DIY job. I feel the staffs efforts or hindered by the condition of the property. The property needs a major remodel. I ran out of room 😢

It’s ok if you are desperate but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There was literally trash in the hall. Exterior doors wouldn't shut all the way. The door to our room had one of those locks that you swing over from the inside. It wouldn’t close all the way because of the key card box was in the way. Mildew in the tub, filthy floor, top of the nightstand was nasty and I’m not sure exactly what was on top of the outlet box. These are just a few of the things. They have signs saying the whole building is smoking free but the minute you walk in the hall that smell is what hits you. The room was even worse. Now I’m pretty sure all of the bedding was clean so that was a plus if you don’t mind your feet being higher than your head then you are all set. I decided based on all of this to skip breakfast so I can’t comment on it.

The coffee was good. The front desk staff were kind and helpful. Other than that, the pictures displayed beforehand to assist us in choosing Baymont Wyndham Salem, Virginia did not at all reflect the reality of the hotel. Run down, dirty, unusual smells in the hallways.
- 0.5/5
When we walked into the room it had a musty smell my wife had to clean up the whole room because it felt disgusting they were stains on the carpet on the shower wall the noise was awful of everyone else

Room was clean but there was no vanity in the bathroom. Fairly noisy. Staff were nice but not always at the desk. Breakfast was good. Fire Alarm battery had to be changed. Previous stay was in a different room which I rated much higher.

The hotel is a bit dated, but it was clean and well-kept. What really stood out was the staff—they were genuinely warm, welcoming, and more than accommodating throughout our stay. Its location right off the interstate makes it extremely convenient, and it’s a great option for a comfortable, no-frills overnight stop while road-tripping.

A very pleasant stay with a lovely staff, clean rooms and great location.

Dirty, needs renovation immediately. Gym is very limited. Location sucks. Breakfast was terrible. Avoid. Staff were very friendly.
- 4/5
Had to walk upstairs with luggage with my elderly mother
- 4/5
Was ok pillows wasn't to comfortable
- 2/5
No coffee pot in room and none available in lobby overnight. Heating unit extremely noisy. Shower fixtures covered with calcium deposits. Couldn't hear TV nor sleep. Had to request a different room which was in better shape than the first one. I left in the morning before breakfast so can't comment on that. Will never stay at a Baymont or any Wyndham hotel again.
- 5/5
Very nice staff
- 3/5
The room itself had old worn out furniture. The sliding door barely opened. Very worn out tracks on it. The matteress was old, lumpy made you feel like you will slide off. The bathroom foor opened in front of the toilet with maybe an inch of space. You had to jockey around carefully to access the toilet and shower. Toilet had a large crack on thr lower half. The sink had 2 large cracks in it and the drain was messed up. It was clean. But I would stay again or recommend it.
- 5/5
Excellent stay
- 4/5
Great price, friendly people/staff, will definitely stay again the next time in town
- 3/5
Room was in decent condition but the door to go out side didn’t lock and could have easily been opened from outside. I did point it out to the front desk and I was given another room immediately
- 2/5
Security's not very good either, as there's an unlocked side door that anyone can get through without using a keycard during the majority of the day. Breakfast was disappointing both times. The gravy was good, but the biscuits were crumbly and flavorless. Most of the yogurt had expired several weeks prior. The only hot food they had (other than the gravy) was these unappealing egg rounds. It was very cheap, but we won't be coming back.
- 2/5
Decent for the price but no mattress covers and a few bug bites on me a few days later….ill try somewhere else next time.
- 5/5
Good coffee was available 24/7 in the lobby. No coffee maker in the room. Everything else in the room worked (microwave, ‘fridge). Decent breakfast was available with low-carb options. Overall a great stay.
- 3/5
Bed was comfortable. Staff very friendly. Area feels safe. TV picture quality was poor. No pet fee. Large area to walk dog. Sliding glass door very difficult to open and close. Coffee was barely warm. Food tasted terrible at breakfast, I’d stick with something pre-packaged like a yogurt. Overall it was satisfactory for being budget friendly.
- 4/5
The staff was amazing and helped in so many ways...
- 5/5
No problems.
- 1/5
Room was not clean and up to par
- 4/5
The gentleman who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. We needed his help with locking the sliding door and he came immediately. He was also there in the morning refreshing breakfast and cleaning up after guests. I really appreciated his attention to details and I'm really sorry i didn't get his name. Breakfast had both hot and cold selections like similar hotels. It is an older property but the floors in the room had been updated to lvt so no carpets! The hallway could definitely benefit from this upgrade. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We did not use the air conditioner or heat so can't say how they worked. A great night's rest for this price point in this area. Do recommend for those traveling on a budget!
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and the breakfast was nice, the room was upgraded but
- 5/5
Great place to stay- clean, friendly, pet friendly, did I say clean? Full breakfast - quiet no noisemakers- they have a computer a gym and a pool (closed for winter here). The girl last night was Really great and her boss should give her a raise!
- 1/5
Room was dirty. Bugs in bathroom. Cigarette burns on sheets. Hole in carpet and stains. Room very old. Pictures of rooms depicted on Expedia did not represent the room we were given.
- 3/5
Our room was clean but in desperate need of renovating. The furniture and contents are relics out of the 1960's and have long passed their usefulness.
- 5/5
Free wifi. And breakfast. Coffee available all day and night
- 5/5
Completely free for pet friendly
- 5/5
Nice hotel, adequate for our needs.
- 1/5
We couldn't stay here. It was disgusting. The room was ramshackle and reeked of smoke - cigarette and marijuana. The hallways looked like a halfway house and half of the desk staff was rude. The bathroom was moldy. I tried to open the sliding glass door to the outside to get some air in the room - it had two exposed screws sticking out of it that cut me. So, in the 10 minutes I was in this place I ended up bleeding and short of breath. We called the hotel next door and got the heck out of the Baymont. Run away. The room was overpriced for the hellhole it was in. - There was one nice lady at the front desk though. She should go get a job next door. She deserves better.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. They found a room for us on the first floor when we needed it (two stories with no elevator). It's an older hotel, but fairly clean. The shower knobs needed an upgrade and they wouldn't turn off for me. It's fairly decent place for short stay.
- 5/5

Staff, quick check in. Room was clean.
- 2/5
In need of repair and a good cleaning.
- 2/5
Room was dirty. Bathroom was very neglected. The sliding door didn’t shut all the way.
- 2/5
Breakfast had eggs but no meat, almost everything was carbs just like continental breakfast at other hotels. Rooms as well as common areas were dirty and run down. TV was horrible.
- 5/5
Front desk clerk was awesome, room ok…breakfast ok
- 5/5
The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. I hope to visit again!
- 5/5
Allowed early check in. Will stay here again for sure
- 2/5
Room was dated. Water in bathroom was shutoff because the lines leaked. The bathtub was worn. TV remote did not work. Refrigerator leaked
- 4/5
🙂
- 1/5
Horrible service. Stair case was dirty, smelled like pee. Broken furniture, wasn’t comfortable staying there and didn’t even stay for the night, let alone an hour. Front desk was terrible, wouldn’t recommend AT ALL.
- 1/5
The shower was dripping and would not stop. The bathroom door was out of alignment and would not close. The main light did not work. The refrigerator did not work and made a buzzing noise all night. Paint was chipped off the walls in multiple areas
- 2/5
Holes patched in walls, grime and dirt everywhere
- 2/5
I was very disappointed in the conditions of my room. It was so bad that we wanted to get out if there as soon as we could. The door flew open when we went in. It was difficult to close. The bathroom door knob was broken. If we had closed the door completely, someone would have been locked in the bathroom. There was dirt in the corners of the bathroom. I will not stay in a Baymont ever again if this is the quality.
- 3/5
Hotel needed much up grades
- 5/5
Excellent hotel
- 3/5
Ok
- 5/5
The staff did an excellent job at keeping the hot coffee coming.
- 3/5
Our rooms carpet was very dirty. There was hair on the bathroom floor. On a positive note our bed was very comfortable
- 1/5
The only thing edible for breakfast was the waffles and cereal. The rooms doors had damage had to push door for it to close properly. The floors where dirty to the point where i left my shoes on to keep my feet from being black.
- 5/5
this hotel was excellent. I will definitely stay there again (hope it does not get so popular that I cannot find a room). It was safe, clean and quiet. the beds were very comfortable. the downstairs rooms that had patio doors made it easy to ex my dog. the lighting in the bathroom was very good. I feel I could stay here for weeks and be very comfortable. My husband is quadriparetic, and we could not get a handicap room, but there was enough clearance to get into the bathroom, and we thankfully brought our own toilet seat riser, Love this hotel!! Dr. Melinda S Snyder
- 4/5
Nice breakfast buffet. Courteous staff.
- 4/5
The hotel room we had was dated but clean! The climate control was fairly efficient and the bathroom was absolutely clean and comfortable. This hotel was a very good value for the price in this area.
- 3/5
An okay older budget friendly hotel. Not as clean as i would have liked so i texted management but got no response but wasnt a complete deal breaker. Great parking, close to all major routes and attractions. Breakfast was ok, would of loved more fruit options but for $75 a night you can't complain. Overall an oksy experience.
- 4/5
Good pet area
- 4/5
Do have pets so I don't know. Very business friendly
- 3/5
Rooms are quite dated but clean. No coffee-maker. Nice shower. No meat selection at the breakfast bar. OK for the modest price.
- 5/5
Place needs a little upkeep, but it was perfect
- 5/5
Good option if traveling with pets. Friendly staff.
- 2/5
Room was very bare-bones; cable-TV reception was worse than old tube TVs of the 60s until I disconnected and reconnected--then it was SD resolution only; bathroom was postage-stamp size, dirty floor, tub/shower enclosure was very poorly caulked and looked awful; breakfast "eggs" were horrible; no meat; juice dispenser was broken and pitchers of OJ & milk were empty. The only positive thing was the mattress--we slept on a king-size and it was very comfortable. Will never go back there again!
- 5/5
Hotel was in a great area, room was large and clean. Felt very safe.
- 5/5
This property, had all the boxes that I check off. Refrigerator ice machine for my medicine microwave bathtub to soak staff very friendly and helpful. Free Wi-Fi free parking. The bed is comfortable. Could use just a little bit of updating, but that didn’t bother me. Comes with breakfast and getting ready to go there now I would definitely recommend this place.
- 3/5
Room was fine for a single night for a cheap rate. Property was in poor condition. Elevator was not working. Outside was rundown and shabby
- 5/5
Good place.
- 1/5
The room smelled and was dirty
- 4/5
Breakfast was great - good choices and food was fresh and good and plentiful. Area was clean and well organized. Staff was especially friendly and helpful. Laurie who checked me out was extremely nice and efficient
- 1/5
The hotel is deplorable, the room was absolutly filthy, the hallways were filthy, the stairwells look like they were never touched. The only thing kept clean and neat is the lobby. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
- 4/5
Room was ok. Had to have maintenance come and fix sliding glass door that didn’t lock. No elevator.
- 1/5
This hotel is in bad shape. For some reason the outside and inside smelled like cat urine. The floors were dirty and turned my wife's sock black in the room. Breakfast was not good, weak coffee and tasteless food. Almost everything in the room needed fixed, the clock, the electrical plugs, the whole bathroom, the tub was in bad shape, toilet base was broken and rocked. This one was a terrible stay. I would not recommend anyone stay here.
- 4/5
My family and I stayed for 2 nights since visiting a grandchild at VA Tech. We weren’t there long enough to interact with much staff but our first evening we were greeted by Laurie and Pintu and they were very helpful in finding a nice restaurant for us. Also, we had a couple of plumbing issues with our rooms and Laurie noted & got it fixed. Staff had our rooms clean and breakfast was definitely adequate.
- 4/5
They had breakfast. Nothing
- 5/5
The staff, Laurie and Pintu was very pleasant in dealing with when checking in or when i had questions :) Breaksfast was good, had options to choose from hot or cold and we loved that animals can stay in the hotel easy access to the streeet and getting to out car as well. Will stay again if we are in the area next!!
- 4/5
Quality for the price, not perfect but the bed was clean. The tv stand was stained and there was discoloration in the dresser draw. Shower was fine and soap smelt good. Breakfast was good for a budget hotel.
- 3/5
The breakfast was fair. It was kept full and dining area very clean. With the price being $125 a night with tax, I think the property needs to upgrade their rooms with better furniture and fixtures. Dresser was very outdated and drawers would not stay closed. Just needs to be modernized and updated especially for the price being charged now.
- 4/5
This property was clean and staff was nice. The whole hotel smelled of marijuana. The room smell was better than the hallways and common area but still present.
- 2/5
There was dust on surfaces, particles on bathroom counter, stool skid marks in toilet. Got a new room which was also slightly dusty
- 3/5
Old property, outdated, some old smoke stains on walls. Staff is great. No complaints on them. Serves purpose of staying the night for the game.
- 1/5
I need a refund we were unable to stay because they did not have any rooms on bottom floor and we are senior citizens and the have NO ELEVATORS and we could not carry up 2 huge suit cases, 2 cpap machines, a purse and my book bag up all the steps he suggested we find another hotel!!!! Please refund my money immediately! Was a disaster!!!! Thank you!
- 5/5
Clean Room and Comfortable Beds
- 3/5
Laurie & Pintu were very gracious at check-in. The rooms have been partially updated, but the bathrooms need to be gutted. The building feels unsafe, especially if your room is by the rear door. Hopefully, the hotel chain can correct these physical problems soon, cause our interactions with the staff was positive
- 4/5
- 4/5
The cigarette smell in the hallways is my only complaint. Other than that, I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Checked in late. The women at the desk was friendly, the room was clean. No coffe pot, but they kept coffe available 24 hours, which is much nicer in my opinion. But the staff at night was the best part
- 3/5
Very P
- 2/5
Pet friendly. Front desk checkin personnel were friendly. Beds are acceptably comfortable. That’s the only positives of this property. Otherwise it is extremely dirty throughout. Rooms, hallways, stairwells are all dirty and smelly. Smelled like combination of musty odors and smoking throughout. Breakfast was stale fruit loops, premade “egg pieces” which I think were supposed to be omlets?? Doors were very difficult to open or close, both room door and stairway doors. No elevator but we knew that going in. Shower so bad majority of our party decided they’d wait until they got home for a shower. If you don’t have a pet that requires accommodations I would highly suggest any other hotel in the area as a better alternative, most likely.
- 2/5
There was no elevator to get to the 2nd floor, just dirty stair wells that smells like weed. The 2nd floor halls reeked of cat urine, it was so bad. The room itself did not smell as long as you kept the fan & A/C running. The sink and toilet were both slow to drain. There were questionable activities going down on the first floor, looked like they may have offered hourly rentals. I would not recommend this place!
- 1/5
Staff was friendly but on our first day, the sink leaked water all over the floor due to a broken pipe, the lights went out while I was taking a shower. The tv went out for most of the evening. Then the toilet stopped working. All within a day! Had to unplug the TV and microwave so they wouldn’t keep turning on and off all night long.
- 2/5
Hallways were dirty and looked disgusting, bathroom looked dirty or at least very stained, the water faucet in bathtub was running because it wouldn't shut off.
- 2/5
This property ranks as one of the worst I've ever stayed in. The floors and sheets were clean. That's the only positive thing I can say about it!!
- 4/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
This hotel is clean and guest friendly. Although walkable, it lacks elevators to the second floor and stairs are too narrow to be walking up or down carrying luggage —the lack of elevators should be noted on the company page for guests to make an informed stay decision. Would I stay here again? Yes, I believe I would.
- 2/5
Beds roll across the floor…. . Need to be locked in place. Water wouldn’t shut off in the shower. Breakfast was cold eggs For one night…. No biggie but these small things probably need to fixed.
- 3/5
There were problems with the door in one room. They gave us another in which i could not turn off hit water. It kept dripping.
- 4/5
The room was cleaned well but was somewhat run down with broken pieces of tile in bathroom floor and an air conditioner that made a great deal of noise. The staff was friendly during check in at the front desk.
- 3/5
However, the room was generally dirty and not in well maintained condition. Rodent droppings behind the desk and bathroom fixtures peeling off the wall.
- 5/5
Very sweet staff.
- 5/5
Check-In only took three minutes when info is filled out ahead of time. Parking is a little sketch, and lighting is dim, but otherwise fine.
- 1/5
Dirty, smelly, moldy, in disrepair. Just awful.
- 2/5
Room had been cleaned but it was in such bad shape it didn’t feel like it was..
- 5/5
Check in was great and easy as was checking out. Very friendly staff. Will stay here again on football weekends
- 5/5
Saff was very nice... nice place to stay
- 5/5
Very Friendly and Helpful Staff.
- 5/5
When you walk in, it’s just beautiful. And the lady upfront was absolutely so sweet. She was willing to let me come to breakfast early because I had to catch a flight very early.
- 4/5
Hey
- 4/5
The microwave is not safe to use. Paint coming off on inside. Sliding door was not locked upon arrival. Volume on tv was too low even turned up to highest mark.
- 5/5
Very nice staff. Good breakfast
- 2/5
The room was dirty upon arrival, the bed was uncomfortable, and the hallway smelled of marijuana the entire time we were there.
- 5/5
Very helpful staff. Facilities are good for price.
- 5/5
It was great!!!
- 5/5
all perfect there nice pool and friendly staff. oh and best breakfast ...
- 3/5
Room was recently remodeled. Mattress was hard as a rock.
- 4/5
overall nice, rooms are average. bathrooms are dated and dirty. Very small commodes and instead of replacing shower tubs just did terrible refurbish, tub itself was badly stained and dirty. wanted to actually bath but not a chance in that tub so just showered. Floors in bathroom had hair and toenails. Faucets have not been cleaned for years, have calcium buildup and lots of soap scum. I rubbed with towel, took a few rubs but came clean. So maids are not cleaning them.
- 3/5
It was ok but needs a bit more remodeling.
- 5/5
The property was currently being renovated but the customer service was friendly and warm.
- 5/5
Hotel was great for a quick one night stay. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
A pesar que no había TV disponible n general estaba muy bien .
- 3/5
The two women at the desk were professional and knowledgeable about the area. But the hotel needs a serious renovation!

- 5/5
Staff was great . Fast check in
- 4/5
Great staff, the property is facing some refurbishment. The front desk lady named Laurie was so nice. All staff were above and beyond.
- 4/5
It was easy to get to after a long drive
- 2/5
There was a massive handprint or hand wipe with what looked like blood directly on the mattress, which was exposed due to an ill-fitting mattress cover.
- 5/5
Thanks
- 1/5
The room was not cleaned for a check in. Also, the room was smelly and the ovearll appearance of the facility was unkept.
- 5/5
hotel is a bit dated, then again, this is no 4 star hotel. it's a roof, bed, microwave, and bathroom. it's all we needed for a night.
- 1/5
It was dirty, actually, filthy
- 1/5
Bed bugs. Staff switched me rooms but i was already covered in bites.
- 5/5
Front desk ladies were both very nice . Room was clean and so was the lobby.
- 1/5
The moment we walked into the hotel a awful odor filled the halls. The patio door was opened when we entered the room. Everything in the room was dirty. A panel in the room revealed old dried up wires. Dangerous.
- 4/5
Comfortable
- 4/5
Very convenient and clean
- 5/5
Nice
- 5/5
Very budget friendly hotel. The bed was so comfortable. The walls were freshly painted and they do a great job of keeping everything clean. The pool was very nice! You can see they are being proactive making updates inside and out. I will definitely stay there again while traveling.
- 4/5
Liked having a sliding glass door out to the car from our first floor room. Made unloading and loading quick and easy.
- 2/5
There was a party going on in the conference area. The staff at desk said try to keep it down. I could not go to sleep until midnight because of the noise.
- 5/5
Quick check in
- 5/5
This information was appreciated but not needed. I had no problem at all. The rooms appeared updated and nicely decorated. There was a large party on Sunday night which did not affect the privacy in my room. I enjoyed seeing the people having fun. This is definitely a choice for my return visit.
- 4/5
L checked me in. She was very friendly and very chatty.
- 1/5
This hotel experience was very disappointing. Our room was stinky, dirty and uncomfortable.
- 5/5
Room was clean. Staff was very friendly and answered all my questions.
- 2/5
Good service and free breakfast, but property was in bad condition, and there were constant machinery noises through the walls.
- 2/5
This hotel does not have an elevator, which was inconvenient, especially since we weren’t made aware of it beforehand. They were undergoing renovations during our stay, which also wasn’t communicated in advance. Additionally, both of our rooms had broken beds. Overall, I would rate this experience a 2 out of 5 and likely would not return.
- 1/5
The first room we checked into the sliding door didn’t even open. Was switched to a new room and that sliding door didn’t close all the way. The entire property was very dirty. Would not recommend or stay there ever again! Would give it zero stars if I could
- 2/5
There was a dirty, hairy wash cloth hanging on the shower rod, the towel had hair and dried urine on and around it. Tub was grungy. There was a dirty t-shirt under one of the beds. We had to sleep on the second floor and there was no elevator. This made it very difficult to get my elderly mother and language up the stairs. Out of ADA compliance. I have photo's of the bathroom. The one good thing was the bed was comfortable and no bedbugs. Will not be staying here again.
- 4/5
The pool was nice, the mountains were lovely. The room was what we needed so I’m grateful.
- 3/5
Love that pets can come with you
- 1/5
Room was not clean, sink broken, tub faucet ran continuously. Smelled of Marijuana outside and inside the room. Did not feel safe. Checked out without staying and found another hotel.
- 4/5
This hotel was fine for the one night we stayed while passing through. The price was reasonable for what we needed. The rooms could use a little updating, but like I said, it was fine for the price we paid (under $100) for just passing through the area.
- 1/5
NOPE! Do Not… Being Clean is something everyone can do if they just put forth an effort. Doesn’t have to be a mansion, just be clean. This place was a disgrace. From the poor attitude by the lady who checked us in, to the foul odor (smelled like a wet basement that was dried improperly) in the second level room hallway. Go to the free breakfast they said… NOPE! Coffee was the only thing I could bring myself to take a chance on. The breakfast room is not clean. The same lady checking us in was in there and handling the biscuits with her bare hands. Everything was dirty and trashy. Have self respect and clean your establishment, as this doesn’t take money to be clean! This should not be allowed to carry the Wyndham name…
- 4/5
It was not as clean as it should be
- 4/5
I liked the pool area and how staff were helpful especially the front desk reception lady Laurie she was amazing
- 3/5
Typical old motel that someone is trying to breathe new life into. Lipstick on a pig. Laurie on the front desk was great. Found me a room much more to my liking
- 2/5
Staff was great. The rooms are very outdated. Our patio door to the pool came off its track. Couldn’t use.
- 1/5
The whole entire property. No elevator. Doors sticking. Rugs dirty. Smells like CAT PISS. Dirty refrigerator. The place was disgusting.
- 3/5
Bathroom was dirty and old
- 3/5
Manager Pintu was very helpful and curious. Room needs dehumidifier. Smells musty
- 5/5
Great stay room was nice service was great as was all the amenities will stay again.
- 5/5
Our check-in was very smooth and easy. Laurie was extremely friendly and helpful. We were given an upgrade just because we had to go upstairs. The room is dated and in need of renovation which is scheduled. The beds are comfortable. The pool is nice but the furniture around the pool needs to be replaced. We would definitely stay here again.
- 2/5
Dirty and low quality. Price is average and not that much difference from any other hotel. I stayed here for 3 nights and seeing my experience here I would rather pay 30 dollars extra in total and stay in decent hotels than this. I always smell smoke around hall area, fealty corners in a room, A/C make noises and it's hard to fall asleep because of it, low options for breakfast and have same food everyday ( note: skipped breakfast during my stays since I see everything filthy there). I have been to this area several times once in a year and whenever I stay here I had better experience compared to this hotel. Would've been given 0 if the beds weren't comfy.
- 5/5
The staff were very friendly and informative. The gentleman that was at the front desk the day that I checked in was extremely polite and very sweet. There was a mishap that went up happening with my reservation due to my business trip being cut short and I was easily provided the refund for the additional nights that I did not stay there. I was not provided a hassle And I was extremely happy with my stay.

Within 10 minutes of the Salem Civic Center. Super nice staff! Fresh towels everyday, which you don't see anymore. The property does have a little wear, but is currently being remodeled. Laurie at the front desk was so nice, helpful, and caring. She intetacted every evening with us asking my son and I if we had a good time at the fair and if we needed anything. Twas a good family feel vibe here. I will be staying again next year!

This was a great find!! The staff was so kind and friendly, the woman who checked us in gave a great room with pool access. Had a little hiccup with the room that was addressed and fixed instantly; they even offered a different room if we wanted. The breakfast was good as well.
