Motel 6 Salem, OR

The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was partially renovated. The curtain on the window had holes in it. The biggest inconvenience, however, was the lack of a refrigerator, microwave, and hair dryer. We were told that the owners(?) decided to remove these items from the rooms.

Not clean, shower didn’t work, staff not empowerec

The staff were kind and happy to help, but sadly this is where the positive factors of this hotel end. The rooms are what you might expect from a 2-star hotel, but the sheer amount of cigarette burns and stains everywhere should have been an indication of what was in store. We stayed two separate nights. The first night we slept on sheets with cigarette burns in the fabric. The second night, the room smelled so strongly of smoke, that I developed a sore throat that still hasn't gone away a week later. Looking back, I should have requested a new room, or paid an extra $10-20 to stay somewhere nicer.

Someone’s car alarm went off at 2 am. Place needed updated windows , better beds and bedding.

Stafff on point as hell

Air conditioning was great. Easy to check in and check out. Cleaning staff were very nice. The light switches on one side of the room were finicky but the others worked!

There are cobwebs in the corner, No hot water, sketchy neighborhood. Asked for two queen beds and got two doubles.

1st room was dirty. 2nd appeared clean at 1st glance.. but was filled with bugs slowly dying obvious that it had been recently bombed with pesticides. When you walk in, you can almost instantly feel crawling on your skin. Stay away from 146 and 138. Possibly others

The service was decent, and the bed was clean and comfortable, but the walls were paper thin. You could hear people walking about ,vehicles engines rumbling, things dropping in the room next to mine. The room that I received had a leaky bathtub, holes in the curtains, floorboard that were bowed.

Parking a good. No microwave, no coffee, no anything. They do not enter into the rooms at any time if someone has booked it. I really would not give them any stars.

The front desk lady was really kind and handled our problems with ease and made it easy for us to leave and find somewhere else. There were cockroaches in our room. I know it’s a motel 6 so I didn’t have high expectations and knew it might not have been cleaned properly which it truly wasn’t but bugs in the room is a no for me. We only noticed them on the second night at about 2 in the morning when we turned on the lights to let out our dog. They were climbing out of our animals food bowls, down our walls, climbing out of our ceiling fan in the bathroom. It was completely disgusting. If I hadn’t been so sleepy my partner and I would have left then but it wasn’t safe for us to drive. The floors were also really gross from my walk from the bathroom to the bed which is maybe about 20 steps away my feet were a different color and not clean. Not to mention when we left 4 days early from our original stay we were informed at the front desk that the bug problem had been ongoing in our room and that part of the motel.

It was clean and biggest plus was Motel is pet friendly . I requested a handicapped room and didn’t get one. Not having to step over the side of the tub to take a shower and having the shower chairs is a huge help to me .

We didn’t have high expectations because of the price and it met our needs.

I liked absolutely no part of this motel, please save your money and go somewhere else. This was the absolute worst motel I have ever to. The drug activity is so heavy. While we were there there was a police hold up with guns drawn in the parking lot. There was a man actively selling drugs from his truck in the parking lot. Prostitutes soliciting people, people were banging on our and windows. The general manager was truly horrible, refused to give money back so we could stay somewhere safe with our children. He told us he couldn't control who comes and goes and that money is money no matter who it comes from. He was a disgusting disgrace of a man, who runs a shit hole.

We got a non-smoking room with 2 queen beds. The room had definitely been smoked in, and they were not queen size beds. The extra security lock was broken, so we could only use the door lock and deadbolt. If my husband would've not been with me, I would not have stayed there. The sink faucet was loose and would not stay straightened, but it worked. There was no "Do not disturb" sign for us to hang. And there was no weather stripping around the main door, you could see the outside light around the whole door. I do have to say that the cleaning crew was great. The towels were clean, soft, and newer; so I do give them credit for having a great cleaning crew. The front office clerk was very nice too. But that isnt enough for me to ever stay there again. The pictures are probably from when they first remodeled years ago.

Like many motels the electrical plugs-ins don’t work. Both on the night stand between the beds we worn out. Totally loose and no connection so hard to charge your phones etc. how hard is it to have things like that to work.

Housekeeping was completely unprofessional. There is no mini-fridge or microwave in the room. Staff said this was due to the fact that too many of them had been stolen by previous guests.

Online it lies there is no swimming pool as described online they're also is no longer refrigerators or microwaves which are described online and the staff did not tell me that until after I paid and I asked where the pool was at and he said they got rid of that and all the microwaves and refrigerators. Also the shower did not get hot it was lukewarm and there was no shampoo or conditioner literally just dry your body out hand soap the heater kept kicking on and off was not consistent with the temperature set at worst Motel I've ever stayed at by far never again

The photos on the site made it seem that the rooms and the property is very clean, it was not. The room had a very weird odor, the curtains had burn holes on them, the bathroom had hair everywhere, they did not have a heater in the room only an AC vent, the staff was pretty nice and friendly. There was a lot of homeless people hanging around outside in the halls, it made it very uncomfortable for us to stay there. NEVER AGAIN.

The room had some housekeeping needs, visible uncleanliness. The bedding appeared clean. There was little to no hot water and the noise above us was so loud. We did not sleep much at all.

I paid for a queen bed and the bed was NOT a queen. There was hair in the bathtub. The floor had spots in it where it would dip and nails sticking up. Toilet dripped

No i hurt my finger trying to unlock the door. The lock you have to jiggle it to unlock cause it's stuck. There's also a big gap under the door, so cold air comes through

The room was a mild disaster. Quite possibly the worst baseboard installation in the bathroom right in front of the toilet with nails sticking out of the wall. TV didn't work. Headboard electrical plugs were half attached. Paint splatter all over the place. Curtains partially broken. I could see light coming in all the way around the exterior door.

The bathroom smelt really bad of cigarette smoke or like the cheap tobacoo but the people are really nice and very understanding, they let us stay in the same room when we had didferent booking from different days. Fair warning it is very noisy and you will probably deal with salem pd showing up and you have your local homeless going through the trash cans and there is spots around the property where it smells bothing like human feces and human pee and animal feces are kind of everywhere.

Absolutely unacceptable. Allowing construction to be done at 5 am in the room next to us, housekeeping yelling and laughing and banging everything imaginable on the walls and floor. We were rushed out and laughed out.. I will make sure they get the review they deserve on all sites.

I didn’t realize smoking rooms were still a thing, it was disgusting. Walls were nasty. Floor was dirty. Hole punched in the bathroom door. Roaches. The room condition does not meet basic cleanliness standards and was materially different from the listing.

The room was clean but in had damaged tub, flooring peeling up, damaged molding and extremely noisy heater. The soundproofing was good. No coffee in room or main office. One extremely old microwave available in main office, none in room.

The room was clean, however their was no coffee maker, microwave or refrigerator that was described as being available to use for the travelers stay. The fire alarms are outdated and there was no smoke alarms in my room. Parking is limited for the handicapped parking & is not enforced. The FREE Breakfast was only coffee, creamer & sugar, the only microwave was in the lobby. The property is under construction as the old swimming pool is not filled in with gravel in front of my room #126.

There was obvious sign of poor upkeep and repairs not done or poorly done.only a small bar of soap with no sampoo. Stranger knockingon the door claiming to be maintenace but no request made.

Room was very old and the area was not very good.

Normal motel. It took several minutes to get hot water for a shower. Neighbors were out at 3:00 am talking loudly, and calling the dog who got away. At 6:00 am, someone got into a fight. Nothing that the motel could do anything about, but it interrupted our rest.

There's no refrigerator or microwave in the room. In the week I was there, they didn't clean even once. The air conditioning works well, and parking is fine. They don't have coffee in the lobby, something basic that any motel should have.

Room is basic, no mini fridge, no microwave (was told I could use the one in the lobby - took my popcorn there and microwave interior was filthy). I asked about morning coffee (no pots in room) that’s supposed to be available in lobby - told they were out of coffee, needed to order it 😒. Room it’s is clean and bed is comfortable. Dings on the tub and stains in curtains but “ok”. Outside was hard to see in the dark but looks pretty shabby. Car parked next to mine has windows broken out and plastic taped over them. Neighborhood is mostly storage units. And near freeway. Freeway noise is a constant hum but not annoying Oh and I paid in full - taxes included - when I booked through Expedia. I was charged tax again when checking in. When I tried to talk to her about it, I could tell she was making up some excuse and told me to talk to Expedia about it. I’ll never stay here again

Rooms are okay. Beds are comfy but it is loud out side between cars and people it's just a little to loud but I do like how they don't charge me for my pets.

The room was clean but the shelf in the bathroom was held together by duct tape. Walls are thin and could hear other rooms tv and conversations. The bed wasnt comfortable. The security lights, though necessary, made it look like day time all night. Im not complaining, just the facts. Especially in light of the room rate being so cheap. The person working the desk was friendly.

Room was still cold with heater on, caulking around tub was black and peeling up, holes in Sheetrock behind the toilet, no coffee maker, tub super slow to drain while showering, listing said rain fall shower head, that was a lie.

Not impressed

The check in room was experiencing serious drama from several down-on-luck guests. The young staff was struggling to maintain composure amid frustration, tears and anger as she repeatedly went over the rules. Once in the room, I found that Expedia's information was from a former owner and did not accurately describe the room amenities. There was neither a mini fridge nor a microwave. The TV didn't work and the curtains had holes. The handicap bath, however, was huge and clean. Many smokers had enjoyed smoking in my nonsmoking room. I was preparing to leave when a mature woman came to ask what I needed. She turned up the fan to help with the smoke, brought a new remote to fix the tv, had maintenance bring both microwave and refridge, and sprayed air freshener throughout. I ended up staying one night and slept but the smoke is in every fabric fiber and wall surface. At checkout I recommended the pillows be sprayed thoroughly with disinfecting agents and run through a hot drier to eliminate the smoke. Also that signage indicate an additional cleaning fee would be charged should a guest smoke in a nonsmoking room.

I thought the parking lot was ripped up, which created congestion, only to realize that was the pool. They’d filled it in and arranged tables and chairs on it. Weird. Room was fine. Bed was super uncomfortable. And had a noisy frame. Bathroom was awful. Not for claustraaphobics for sure. Clientele was questionable, but overall it’s just mildly better than “fine”.

You can’t be this place for the price it’s as good as any other hot shower no coffee, but who needs coffee clean comfortable beds

The staff was friendly and efficient on checkin. My room appears clean and tidy but there’s a musty smell that seems to a deodorizor to mask cigarette smoke smell. People were smoking directly outside their rooms in violation of the rules in multiple places throughout the property.

This is a no frills hotel but it was just perfect for a place to lay my weary head for the night. The room is spotless and very quiet. The area is very well lit, and there are double locks in the doors. I felt secure. There is No fridge, no microwave, no hairdryer, and no coffeemaker. So be prepared for that but the price is great for a trip on a budget. The room is quiet, secure and the bed was firm, the way I need it. The gal who checked me in was very cordial and answered all my questions. I would absolutely stay here again!

Uncomfortable and unclean. We booked a double queen, checked in and carried all of our bags upstairs with our 2 year old. Opened the door and we got one queen. Carried everything back out, after being told the only room available was upstairs, there was suddenly a double queen downstairs. Management was very apologetic and cordial, they did fix the error immediately. We got into the room and it was nasty. Pubic hair in the toilet, on the seat, all over the floor. The tub was full of hair and the hand towels on the edge of the tub were placed on top of a pile of hair on the rim of the tub. Beds were hard and lumpy and there was hair on pillow cases and sheets. Floors were definitely unmopped and looked unswept. Crumbs and dirt and lint in all the corners. Soap residue and toothpaste on mirror and sink. Unsanitary, just unsettling. I did not feel comfortable with my family in that room. There were people in filthy RV's running in and out of hotel rooms all day and night and people using drugs and passed out in the corners of the parking lot. This establishment is not somewhere i would bring my family again.

Motel claims to have a pool and also microwave and fridge in the rooms. They have none of these but still want to charge full price. Management needs to update or lower prices.

A lot of homeless people living on the surrounding parking lot and loud screaming and fighting goes on all hours of the night. Had an employee come into my room at 1230 in the morning. Had no credentials just a flash light. Luckily I had the door latched but sure is fun waking up to some strange man in my room at 1230 in the morning (midnight) still waiting on the management to contact me about this incident. The employee is lucky this 6’5”/250 pound man decided to handle the situation with a calm head. No employee should be entering rooms at that time of night period. I’d stay clear of this MoTeL.

While getting our bags out of the car, we overheard that the motel was full for the night and had no more rooms as they turned a guest away. We proceeded to our room to find that the air would not work. It had been 95+ that day and the room was 84 degrees in the room. We called down and they said they would look for a room and call us back, but instead came to mess with the air themselves. The air never came on and we were moved to a different room. When we walked in, the tv was on and there was dirt tracked on the floor. We thought nothing of it until we turned down the sheets to find pinkish blood spots and dirt in the sheets. Had it not been after midnight, we would have left. We called down again to let them know. They requested we bring them photos as proof before they could move us again. Photos provided and we were moved again. The air worked in this room and we crashed, despite the numerous other guests who remained outside our door most of the night and all morning. Do not recommend and will not go back.

Basic room with your normal wear and tear. No microwave but that was expected. The parking lot was terrible. You can see where the pool was they replaced it with graven and cheap tables and chairs, kind of funny looking

A serviceable hotel with convenient parking. No amenities, not even shampoo and conditioner.

I got my key and went to room. The light turned green so I pushed the door which wouldn’t open. I thought the key didn’t work so o went back to the check-in and got a new key. I tried it and the light came on but the door wouldn’t budge. Since I am handicapped and walking is difficult I sent my wife to check-in room. This time the check-in man came with her. He walked right to the door and swiped the key which turned green. Next he pushed hard on the door and it opened. The way he knew pushed the door with his shoulder he knew the door had issues opening when I first took the key back. All he had to do is tell me the door opens hard instead of making me walk back to the clerk three times.

This place is awful. Sketchy people hanging out on the balcony and parking lot. The door doesn’t close properly and you can see through sides of the door. The walls are really thin so you can hear people (you know what). Not a good place to bring kids … or even yourself. Also they don’t change the bedsheets.

Parking in front of room was minimal, and taken up but a long term car and a trailer. No in-room coffee or fridge. Stayed for 5 days and had NO housekeeping services, despite being told on the 2nd day that it would be every 3 days. Garbage also not changed upon request on 2nd day. Had to get fresh towels on 3rd day as we'd left them wet on the floor, expecting housekeeping to change them. Although the front desk staff were helpful and pleasant, I will not stay at another Motel 6, ever again.

There were people yelling all night outside our window. The first room we were checked into the toilet didn't work and there were people huffing gas in the corner and partying.

I checked in after 6 p.m. i went to the room the bed was unmade.and it felt humid in the room.and when i opened the bathroom door there was water and soap bubbles still in the tub. And whom eer had been there had urinated on the seat ring and on the floor.totally disgusting..i was moved to an upstairs room .which had a a matress that felt like i was laying on a slab of concrete. Longstory short .i checked out in the morning. It was nothing i exspected from Motel 6. There's cheaper and better places to stay in the area.

The fellow at the front desk was very good. He let us look at the room before we checked in because of a recent bad experience. The room was fine but there was a lot of people outside in the parking lot most of the night just hanging around, making noise, playing music etc. The person in the room above had 5 showers during the night and we heard the cat in the room next door meowing. We hardly slept.

He did offer to give us a room at almost three times the price.

Paid for room through orbitz. When I arrived at hotel, cashier told me I didn't have a room. Told me to leave property. Showed him confirmation number, but still refused to give me my room. Was told again to leave and that I didn't have a room. Charge for room is still deducted from my checking account. Had to sleep in car on side of road.

I ordered a room with two beds and another room for another member of our party. What I got was a room with only one standard bed. This was very uncomfortable.

There were small flies in our room, hair in the sink, smelled of smoke, the person above us was moving around and stomping all night until 2am, and there were stains on the sheets. We slept in our clothes. I would never stay here again and we cancelled our next night, but they would give us refund.

There were so many different cars on and off property during late night and one night, we heard a female screaming but was unsure where it was coming from. I feel like there were some people dealing drugs out of one of the rooms. Overall staff was really nice. Room was actually decent.

I was 24 hours past check in on a 3 night 4 day prepaid room. 12 hours 3:15 am is the latest for reservation check in. If I am past the 3:15 am deadline then the whole reservation is wiped off their computer.

Bathroom flooring popped up dangerously so--tripping hazard. No drain to close in order to draw a bath. Bathtub leaked so water under the flooring got my socks wet. No shampoo only bars of soap provided.

Spent a night there. Didn't sleep all night as I was worried about the family.

It’s a hood motel, leave it at that

The office attendants are great, but if you’re staying more than one night, it would more than likely be worth mentioning it. Both times I’ve stayed there, I ended up having to go to the office more than once to get the card zapped again, but when given a specific date, the issue was addressed right away.

Very clean they've got that going for them. New renovation was nice. Bed springs however were awful you could feel literal springs and hear them make the weirdest noises. Toilet was loose and rocked. Whoever did the floor in the bathroom didn't caulk at the tub so the boards were water damaged majorly warped and when you walked on them they raised up like rolling planks. Fridge, ac/heat/fan control and tv. No blowdryer and just hand soaps. This is a really rough part of town. Parking lot had cameras and vehicle stayed untouched overnight. I've stayed in worse. If you just need a place to crash for a few hours that is clean this works.

The area is not great. The property is not great. One night stay was ok.

Bad odor and felt unsafe,

Motel 6 used to be good deals, good quality stays but not anymore. The staff were nice, some had limited English but that is where it ended. The motel room I was assigned to had bugs, the shower head leaked spraying outside of the shower and all over the floor, but most severely was the windows. The window frame was severely broken and coming off, rusted parts, installed backwards, had damage from clear evidence of someone breaking into the room. I wasn't going to tolerate such, so I immediately rang front desk (which I had to guess it was 0 on the telephone as there was no list of local places, front desk, etc as norm) and had them come down and see the damage so we didn't get charged as we had literately just received the room keys not even 5 min previously. To add, the telly had no channel guide list like most places so I had to channel surf to find the cartoons for the kids. Dining was limited for Vegan needs. If you aren't vegan or dairy free, there is a pizza parlor, McDonald's within walking distance. We had to go downtown, roughly 4 miles and found BigWig Donuts that offered Dairy Free food options and a Fred Meyer's because of Allergens to Dairy. There was no mini fridge or microwave in room either. This place certainly has gone downhill from what they used to be.

Light in bathroom not working. Towel bar in bathroom fell off wall. Sink faucet loose. Weatherstripping on door hanging loose. Overall a really bad experience.

The rooms were clean and quiet. The neighborhood was right off the freeway, and easy access to lots of businesses.

Room smelled bad, entry not weather sealed, ceiling crackled and creaks as upper room occupants moved around, traffic loud through old windows thin walls not sealed door, heater ac very loud come on a lot as unit not weather sealed, plastic floor loose , patchy walls , funky sink . Motel going down . Not worth 80 bucks , coil not sleep .

did not get a wink of sleep in either of the rooms I rented. The people in the building and across from it were so noisy all night long. I had booked both rooms to stay a second night but got a refund and went elsewhere where we had a great night.

I ended up not staying. It was supposed to be a non smoking room. It wasnt, the clerk gladly moved me to a new room. It too smelled smoky but i was out of time, i needed to get ready to attend a wedding. There were cleaning rags left on top of the toilet; no refrigerator; there was not a way to shower without holding the shower head,( it was held up with an elastic band) then the water quit before i had the cream rinse out of my hair. It dribbled for awhile and i got most of it out. I dressed and told the clerk that was the last straw. To please refund my money. I only got a partial refund.The area looked pretty rough too. The clerk was nice...the only bright spot at that place.

There was excessive drinking and loud music both nights of my stay. When I went to my car both mornings I had to step over piles of vomit to get to my vehicle.People were openly drinking and blaring music in the courtyard and on the balcony in front of their rooms. I felt very uncomfortable and was approached by drunk guests when just going to the ice machine. My bed was broken but it didn’t matter I got zero sleep both nights.
