    The staff was friendly and helpful. Room was extra comfy and bit small but comfy. Clean rooms. Even TV was small but good clear picture. Coffee was good breakfast good. Thank you I think the only thing was that breakfast ended at 9am, it would of been nice if it ended at 10am.

    Just in and out one night. The only bummer is the guy in the room next door was snoring all night sounded like a freight train. Breakfast was great well stocked. Room was clean and staff was great.

    We were traveling throughout Oregon and had just driven up to Salem from Crater Lake. We wanted to experience Salem before returning to Portland to fly home. Upon arriving, I noticed there was plenty of parking available (free!) The hotel also had the luggage trucks that you find at the airport (which I find much easier to maneuver than the typical luggage racks at hotels). We had been tired from the drive and were grateful for the coffee available 24-hours. The staff was very engaging and friendly when we checked in. Our room was spacious, plenty of lighting and areas to work (desk, comfortable side chair with lamp and table nearby--this was important because I wound up having to do some work). There was a Denny's across the street definitely within walking distance. The room had a coffeemaker and a refrigerator. The breakfast area had many food choices both hot and cold. The dining area was open and had a lovely view of a greenbelt area. Overall, would recommend staying here.

    Bed was comfortable. Plenty of parking. Reasonable breakfast. Convenient to I-5. Room seems to have been designed to injure occupants, such as the armchair positioned under a floor lamp at head height, so you'd hit it if you stood up, and the bathroom door positioned to hit anyone standing at the wash basin if opened. Bathtub was very small with no handrails or matting in the bottom -- not good for elderly or disabled guests.

    Everything was great! The microwave plate was broken, it didn't rotate, just sat in place (didn't bother us, just in case you want to know!) Also, one of the lightswitches on the bedside table didn't work.

    We were in a handicap room with a door to an adjoining room. The walls were not well soundproofed and the adjoining room had a dog and small children who were quite noisy. We arrived after dark and had so much difficulty trying to figure out how to turn on the lights that we finally had to question the manager on duty. I am a seasoned traveler who has spent years in hotel rooms and never experienced anything like that. We stayed two nights and while the towels were changed, the bed was not made up after the first night. The only bright spot was the breakfast. No complaints there. It was quite good for a hotel of this quality.

    Stay on the third floor because people walk over your head really loud. So loud that I had a call downstairs but they didn’t do anything about it. Had to wear earplugs. Staff wasn’t very welcoming that night checking in.

    Cons: The lighting in the room was so poor. We turned on every lamp to see anything. The lights above the sink were very dim. It was not good. Only 1 elevator worked. Breakfast had empty dishes, cold gravy and rock hard biscuits.

    I found cockroaches in my bathroom. They even got into the shower when my son was showering. I took pictures and a video. I very kindly and quietly approached the front desk and spoke with a very nice young lady who promised me a call from the manager immediately. I never received a call. I then emailed the hotel with details and requesting at the very least a response, and I still received nothing. Not a single word. I have worked in the hotel industry. I would have refunded my stay immediately and apologized and taken care of this issue but this hotel management did NOTHING. Very disappointing.

    The room was exceptionally small. The toilet/shower room had to be completely shut to get by to the vanity and bed areas. The beds were worn down/old. the furniture was minimal and well used. Disappointing for the price that we paid. The rest of the facilities and staff were superb. The breakfast options were very good. The hotel allows pets, so of course there was a large size dog that barked in the hallway. Not the dog's fault, just poorly trained by the owner.

    Outdated property - batteries needed in tv remotes, new light bulbs in room lighting, brighter lighting in the hallways, fix elevators quickly, cleaning room when the Make Up sign is out on the door, Front desk needs to check if the room is cleaned before assigning to a new guest.

    The pool was very cloudy, had an unpleasant smell, and the overall area did not appear well maintained. There was also only one working elevator, which led to long waits and overcrowding. Our room had several issues as well. The HVAC unit was outdated and difficult to regulate, making the room either too hot or too cold throughout the night. We had to get up multiple times to adjust it. One of the lamps was also flickering and appeared to be faulty. The bedding had a visible dirty spot, and the room overall felt worn and not as represented in the photos online. Our room was also only stocked with two towels despite being a double queen booking. On a positive note, the staff we interacted with were kind, and breakfast was adequate. However, based on this experience, we would not choose to stay at this location again and hope these issues are addressed for future guests.

    Dirty hotel, looks like never cleaned. dog hair throughout hotel hallway, mismatched carpet throughout hallway, only one elevator worked. Continental breakfast was gross, scrambled eggs were raw, bacon and sausage were terrible. Homeless people come in and eat at this hotel and using the hotel restrooms.

    When we went to check in, the front desk person was less than friendly and looked like she was going through the motions. There was a long line and no other staff to help out. The location is a bit sketchy as we saw groups of teenagers hanging around the parking lot at night as the hotel is located close to Wunderland. We didn't feel that safe, and I worried about my car. The room was less than clean as there were stains on the box spring that we cleaned ourself. The room was super dim and too dark for our liking. I booked a room with a kitchenette but there was no stovetop only sink and microwave - this is false advertising. The breakfast had very limited options and there were no eggs when we got there Saturday morning around 9am. We have stayed in other hotels in Salem, and prefer the other ones. I have also stayed in other La Quinta hotels. I would not recommend this one.

    Waited at the front desk for a while to check in. Our room was on the 4th floor and a pet ok room. Carpet was peeling in spots and stained. Wood trim under the refrigerator was broken. Garbage was not taken out. We didn't notice until the morning when it was light. And didn't check because our room was so nice last time we stayed. (We had our dogs for both stays) We are hoping to stay with you every month when we visit family but now unsure. On the upside Your staff was very nice.

    The overall stay was good. Unfortunately, it was after check out that it got bad. I left my medical prescribed glasses in the room upon calling. They said they were going to check and someone would call me back. Never heard from anyone called again last night. Never heard back called again this morning. Just to have the front desk continue to hang up on me not be friendly and let me know that nothing was found in that they can check the room thoroughly because the room had not been checked, which makes no sense because I checked out yesterday morning, I believe they just threw them away and I'm very, very at loss for words as they are $500 glasses, and I cannot see and need them for my daily life. I will not be returning to this hotel and I do go to salem often for business trips

    My husband and I have stayed here twice now while he has undergone and recovered from surgery. The location of this hotel is within a few minutes' drive to anything you could possibly need (Walmart, Costco, Winco, Fred Meyer, Lowes, fast food, etc.) but also doesn't feel like it's in the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a creek that runs a long one side of the hotel and Harbor Freight in front of the other side of the hotel. All in all, it's a pretty quiet location. The breakfast is full of options that will satisfy all kinds of taste buds, and although the hours say 6-9am, the staff are more than happy to keep it open a bit longer to make sure their guests are well fed. They even keep the coffee topped off throughout the entire day! The only downsides I could see worth mentioning were: 1, no hot-tub 2, only one working elevator 3, super thin walls (you hear everything)

    Front desk service was useless. Super loud people above us from 2am on. Then early morning violin practice across the hall. I didn’t sign up for a night in a frat house! Bed was hard as a rock, things were falling apart, ie:towel bars toilet paper holder ect. Worst hotel experience by far!

    Not safe if you're hauling a moving truck. Stayed overnight on our long travel to move and when i checked on the truck in the morning the lock was cut off and the back of the truck was left wide open. Lots of homeless around this area.

    We travel a lot. We NEVER expect someone to traipse into our space unannounced. My husband is an Army Veteran and has service related PTSD. We are both extremely grateful that he restrained himself and did not attack the person who opened the door. Front desk clerk, Stephanie, apologized woth a million excuses. And then ran her mouth when she thought I'd entered the elevator. Manager wouldn't come out of the office when we checked out the next morning. I was supposed to receive an email, but never did. DND was on the door our entire stay. Video camera was right ourside of our door to record the incident.

    Good hotel. Paid $25 for the dog which I guess it's understandable but I feel they're know as a pet friendly hotel and there should be no charge. Hotel was clean and comfortable. Everything was good. Breakfast was better than most but the hotel cost was a bit higher than most. I would stay here again.

    Staff extremely nice ! had washer and dryer on site , breakfast was great! Clean area , water was not draining inside my sink of the room I was given . That part I didn’t like . Other than that I can’t complain , hopefully they do fix the problem. thank you to the staff super kind and accommodating.

    The AC/heater was not working properly as the dial was broken off. Requested help, service man used his pliers to set it where it had to stay while we were there for the week. I was too short to get up on the bed and the staff was accommodating enough to provide a ‘step up’ for me. Was very pleased w/everyone there.

    This was a very poorly run property that is not kept up well at all. We were first checked into a room which already had someone else checked into it. This left a very bad taste in the mouth. The room we were finally moved into had stains on the carpet, the bed cover had a hole in it, and the flat sheet on the mattress was put on backwards. The chair in the room had lots of dirty stains. To stay the least, we did not feel comfortable during our stay. Whomever is in charge of house keeping is obviously not paying attention to details. Then, the morning after our first night, the hotel’s hot water boiler broke and none of the rooms had hot water so we could not shower. For such a large hotel, it was surprising they didn’t have a back up system. In all fairness, I have to say that the hotel did offer us 20% of the first night’s stay due to the boiler, however, I feel that didn’t compensate for the other lacking aspects.

    Really comfortable beds and excellent 24hr staff. Decent and safe hotel for a great price. A few minutes from anything touristy if your on a vacation but everything else close. Excellent free breakfast in the mornings.

    The breakfast was the best on my trip. But my friend got stuck in the elevator and our first room smelled like cigarettes and she has asthma. There were tons of smokers by the door. The smokers should have to stand further from the door

    It is easy access to all the areas in Salem. The rooms are great every time I have visit. Just a minor spot in the carpet this past time I was there. At one point the elevator did not work but the repair was rapid by the maintenance personnel. I would definitely stay at this location once again.

    The employee that checked us in was extremely pleasant and helpful. That was the only good thing about this property. The parking lot was filled with people just hanging out, one guy even sitting in a lawn chair, another smoking very close to the entrance, lots of noise. The first room we were given was filthy with bugs, the second was not any better. Thankfully we were issued a refund with no further issues and found a clean hotel close by. I would not recommend unless you are okay with bugs, food crumbs, water leaks stains, and weird brown streaks in the bathtubs.

    Very clean. Not enough staff for checkin. I submitted my checkin on line. Never read. Checkin in took over 20 minutes. Paid $25 for dog . No welcome bag. Quiet. Beds comfortable. But properly needs upgrades. Screens damaged. Toilet wobbles. Appears one elevator not working. Then put sign up in morning to say only elevator saying not working -probably to help checking out guests. Should just ask people to take stairs as courtesy.

    I enjoyed my stay at this location for Nike Nationals for 3 days. The staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was very nice. Being my first time at la Quinta Salem, I was amazed by how neat the room and bathroom were and it was consistently cleaned, replenished towels by the time we got back. I was very pleased with my stay.

    Room was dirty and kind of run down. The floor had many sticky spots. The breakfast was typical but the orange juice machine was spitting out mostly water with no orange. The pictures used to show this hotel were not accurate that’s for sure. Won’t be staying here again.

    Sheets were covered in a lot of hair-wish I would’ve read the google reviews because they were accurate. The sheets were scratchy/old and didn’t smell clean. The pillows were lumpy. Sketchy Salem vibes around the hotel. Definitely never staying here again. I love La Quinta’s usually so this was very disappointing. Front desk staff was very nice though.
