It's a transitional place for homeless people. Loud and annoying at night. People's stuff spread out everywhere. Many places like this in California now. Know what you're getting yourself into.

The sunroom was decent for a short-term visit. Clean and comfortable with a small desk space which was convenient for working remote. Entering and exiting was easy with the codes provided via text. It was difficult to know who was in charge. A nice person introduced himself to me when I settled in, so I assumed he was the landlord or manager. It also felt like I was in a frat/halfway home. People were living there long-term. One guy in particular was constantly yelling into his phone, talking bs about how legit he was, etc. with really no consideration for anyone else there who maybe had to work remotely (LIKE ME). He spent all day yelling at his phone and then fell asleep in the common room with a football game blaring from his phone. It was loud, so I mentioned it to the property since I had work early. This was communicated to him and he made a point to argue about this with the "manager" two days later. The whole thing was weird. Felt like I was intruding on some dysfunctional family. I left early and ate the rest of the money. Rather spend extra on some peace and quiet.

Normally it's clean folks are nice this time a total nightmare i don't feel safe and my face broke out due to a pillow with dried blood on it. IM DISABLED .I BOOKES A BOTTOM BUNK.I AM ON TOP BUNK AND FORCED TO SHARE SPACE WITH THIS EVIL MEAN UCLEAN, LADY WHO USING VERY ABUSAIBE LANGUAGE. I dont feel safe at this 12th Ave location.ive been cursed at taunted .spoken very rudely to by a resident who has the bed i paid for, and she gets to be rude to me and other elderly women in the house, and nothing is done. I need to speak to the owner. Why is this even aloud now? I can't sleep, and she gets to sleep peacefully . I will be filing a formal complaint. I have never been treated so rudely, and why has no one asked her to leave...I have witnessed her cursing out the older guest and telling them to shut up.When staff asked her to stop she continued. He says you giys lets get alomd As if i was tje problem He jas no authority. LITERALLY WAS ABOVE HER AMD HAVE RO LISTWN TO HER CALL ME STUPOD AND D REPEATEDLY. TJIS WAS WITNESSED BY GUEAT AMD STAFF .OMCE SHE KNEW HE WASN'T GOMMA DP NOTHING AJE TALLWS MOR TRASH TO ME. She's unclean.scatters her stuff around the bed.when she was asked to move her stuff, she did and later put it back.I asked her to move it nicely, and she started cursing at me...like really. NOT KOL. I AM A STROKE HEART SURVIVOR. MY KNEES ARE IN RECOVERY FROM BEING BROKE I AM DISABLED. This is unexpectable.....why list the bottom bunk is available ans it's not. The way she acts with peaceful, clean paying guests is unexpectable. If she says anything else or worse assaults me I will be calling the local authorities to file a complaint of harassment ,intimidation, asault and overall making it unsafe, and I can't get a refund or quickly get out and leave ..also My Face Breaking Out after i slept on this pillow that when I looked inside HAD FRIED BLOOD ON IT ???..I have pictures I don't have to lie . I have made an appointment with the doctor this stay has been very unpleasant and unsafe.

Kevin was a amazing host
- 2/5
It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood, and the bed was pretty comfortable - mattress was decent - and the bed sheets were clean. Also, Kevin the house manager is a very nice man and the kitchen seems pretty well-equipped (I only used it to boil water for tea but it looked like they had all the basic things one would need). It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood and there is NOTHING for at least a mile radius, not even a café to get a morning coffee. (Someone told me there’s a gas station nearby but I never saw it). Also, I got the single room at this hostel and was sharing a bathroom with the house manager, but the only bath rug in there was one that he used himself and he told me he didn’t have any other clean ones!! So I had to use the only towel they gave me as a bath mat and use a towel that I happened to have brought with me (to wrap an instrument in) as my actual bath towel. They need to have more clean towels and bathroom rugs on supply! In addition, the bedroom was only partially clean: Some of the furniture had not been cleared of dust and other people’s dirt, under the bed there was a bottle cap and just other signs that the room needed a better clean and disinfecting. Finally, this morning I was about to check out and had all my luggage ready plus my ride was waiting outside. I’d just finished in the bathroom and was about to go back into my room to put my toothbrush away and close my suitcase and the code on the door had expired and wouldn’t let me back into my room. I HAD to leave ASAP to get to work and the house manager didn’t have any solutions for me other than calling His boss (who was not responding) and waiting for some Master code to be sent to him. Luckily I’d been texting with someone from the company a couple days prior, so I texted him and he sent a new code which worked, but when all was said and done nearly half an hour had passed and I was NOT happy as this could have TOTALLY ruined my job in Sacramento. A house manager MUST have all pertinent emergency resources at the ready!! This was unacceptable! (Yes, even for a hostel!).

I mean it was ok as far as last minute booking I was able to book within a couple of weeks of arriving to Sacramento. But after staying there eI guess I know why it was cheap and not full. Loud music played all night from the host, we had to complain multiple times for it to stop. My passport and medication was stolen after the host assured me it would be ok while I was gone. I still need to contact management about this serious issue. I found a baggie of white powder outside. One of the guests stayed in a recliner by the door to sleep. The bathrooms smelled like mold, the fridge was gross, beds were hard. I was hot and stuffy, we couldn't change temperature. No postings on website or booking to tell guests to bring a lock, so they should provided them so guests will know, the current "storage" is not secure at all.

Not a great neighborhood, very loud neighbors partying all night. The person in the private room Kevin had his music on loudly most of the night making it hard to sleep. Me and several others messaged you all but never got a response. Someone knocked on his door but he didn't answer. The mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable and the bathroom was dirty.

There was no host to check me in or check by ID , or to show me which bed was mine. Then they woke me up and the whole hostel up being rude and loud to me because I wasn't aware I was in the wrong spot, im new too staying in hostels. They could of quietly told me I made a mistake, not humiliate me in front of everyone.

N/A - THERE IS NO BREAKFAST! PLEASE DELETE THIS QUESTION FROM YOUR SURVEY. I VERY MUCH APPRECIATED THE KINDNESS AND PROFESSIONALISM OF KEVIN! HIS ACTIONS CREATED A SAFE AND RESPECTFUL ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL GUESTS. EVEN THOUGH THIS ENTITY IS LOCATED IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD, THER IS A COMMERCIAL STRUCTURE NEARBY AND IT CAN GET LOUD OVER THE WEEKEND.

But the Steward is great person. We ate like a family daily. It was surprisingly fun and unique. Miss them much!

DO NOT BOOK HERE!! I didn;t even stop at the adress - it looked like a guardhouse, with cyclone fencing surrounding it. There was a literal PILE OF GARBAGE (like 15 ft by 3 ft) in the street nearby and a clearly mentally ill person wandering into the road and talking loudly to herself. I moved on - and yet Hotels.com did not enable me to cancel my reservation or get a refund.

During quiet time between 10 pm to 6 am, the radio keeps on playing and he does not want to shut it off even after I requested a million times. It’s terrible, I did not sleep a wink. Wilson US Army Disabled Veteran

I don’t mind sleeping in the top bunk despite my physical disability but the mattress was so thin, the pillow was so thin that I did not sleep a wink, I feel so terrible this morning not to mention that the person’s radio below my bunk is so loud, what a terrible experience.

Bed mattress needs to be replaced .. bed frames need to be built for adult use.. ladder to go up is too narrow.. electric cord should be attached to wall

Its a warm dry place to sleep at night. Dont expect luxury.

It was a two-night stay. Kevin was very helpful in explaining the rules of the hostel. Everybody kept to themselves and if you keep it respectful, your stay here will be enjoyable.

I had a guy following me around asking me personal.questions. not safe! Kept coming over to my bed. I left. Didnt even stay. I want a refund

Mostly it was good because of the regular guests. Minus 1 yelled & was weird. Owners are doing things that seem illegal.

It stuck from mental issues from other guests.

The building is unmarked and difficult to find. There are no staff onsite and they said they would email me with a door code. No door code was emailed to me until after I'd reached the house and another guest was kind enough to help me contact the manager. Beds were poorly built and mattresses were a joke. They give you a towel though, that was nice. There was a man in another room screaming about how the government was trying to steal his brain waves or something. I did not feel particularly safe. Rooms are quite crowded.

Unsafe neighborhood , good only if you intend to live there for a long time
- 5/5
The neighborhood scared me. At first I thought I got scammed because the hostel literally looks like a house. When I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to know the host's(lives there)number one concern is safety- so keeping the doors locked and such was a big deal. That was a huge relief. Great host, I got in after 1 am with prior communication with the host, and I was able to get in. Communication was easy, but confusing at first because there wasnt a local number to call- the host replied to my messages in a timely manner. I'd go back.

My grandson stayed here and it was great for him!
- 5/5
All the guest and the host was very welcoming. Hard not to follow rules because there are reminders everywhere which is great if you have questions and is too shy to ask them. The showers were fairly clean and it’s best to bring your own soap and shampoo but if you didn’t that’s fine too because the have got some. I would stay af this hostel again.
