The hotel room door would not lock. Person came and showed us all we have to do is pull up on the door knob. Safety latch on door was broken. Did not seem safe at all. Room was not clean. Toilet did not want to flush. Terrible would not recommend

A perfectly adequate place to stay for a night in downtown Sacramento. I appreciated that the hotel uses lots of security cameras to monitor the parking lot.

Pool unavailable and no microwave in our room as advertised on amenities shower was out of all products body wash etc.

It was cheap and the rooms were clean. I also enjoyed the hot breakfast. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were all empty. Not a great location.

Customer service is shocking. One person does everything to save costs.

The a/c in the room stopped working in the middle of the night. The tv froze on one channel. There was a family with small children that were allowed to run around the property and make noise at 6am.

I went to the front desk to show them and asked if someone could please come clean the room. Instead of being apologetic, the employee seemed more concerned about the towel being dirty and even suggested it was probably from my shoes. She also said I should have mentioned it when I checked in, even though I checked in late Friday night at 9:52 PM and didn’t immediately notice how dirty everything was. On top of that, there was mold in the bathroom and the refrigerator was dirty as well. The biggest issue for me was not just the condition of the room, but the lack of customer service and accountability. A simple apology and willingness to fix the situation would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet basic cleanliness standards, and I would not stay here again.
- 2/5
It was such a disappointment as we counted on the 7.8 star rating. This is a MOTEL, not a hotel. While the beds were comfortable and the shower decent; the place was so dirty. I personally took the time to wash the bathroom door. The walls and ceiling were just filthy. The floor was barely a step better. We slept on top of the bedding out of concern. Normally, we would have just moved to a different hotel but we choose to make the best of it as it was our daughter's graduation. We thought we were getting a good deal...this is not that.

Highlights- coffee was excellent. Front desk woman has balls to scare off bad people and saved me from wardrobe malfunction.

Horrible experience. The room was extremely dirty upon arrival. The sheets had hair all over them and even visible shoe marks, which was unacceptable. I brought the issue to the staff’s attention, but I was informed that no other rooms were available. The staff provided clean sheets after I requested them, but overall, the room's cleanliness and condition were very disappointing. I would not stay here again. Not a safe area and nothing like the pictures on Expedia.
- 3/5
lot of noise during the night, doors slamming, cars, motorcycles, people yelling.
- 4/5
The place was fine, in a kind of funky modern way. Being on the third floor, I was glad for the elevator. The room was clean, the bed was fine. The bathroom was fairly clean (staff needs to remember to also look up and clear dust/cobwebs from the walls). The shower only has a half door, so water goes all over the floor. (No bathmat was provided.) It would have been nice to have a clock somewhere in the room. And I could really have done without the homeless people hanging around the parking lot.
- 1/5
Close to the freeway. Staff was FaceTiming the whole time while I was checking in. It was loud and rude.
- 2/5
The room was clean, but the lock on our door did not work. You could literally push the door in from the hallway. The staff were nice though. For the price it’s not a bad deal just be aware of the kind of people that will also be staying in this cheap of a hotel.
- 1/5
Took my deposit won’t give it back consistent attitude on phone never coming back
- 2/5
So, they had us change rooms within first half hour. Bathroom doors slide and dont lock, shower doors are clear glass ( two kids: boy/girl). Second room had questionable air conditioner- not aure if it was dust or mold (it was dust), cable went out 5 times - front desk fixed first time , I fixed it the other times due to the late (2am). Tv has 3 lines throw it, two top one middle No Ice machine or vending machines Breakfast wasn't too bad- options limited Pool- closed due to maintenance issues Stayed one night not the two we booked, found another place Night staff- nicer then morning Some loud People outside few times Upside Close to hospital, MDs and Ihop Also Motel 6 cross for this one 😉😉

The convenient location. The staff was very rude. Husband and wife mangers have the worst customer service. Stayed 14days, EVERY single request I had to eventuallywalk to the office to get myself. Examples, batteries for remote, requested towels, toilet tissue. Loud music from parked cars inside guest parking all hours of night. And finally breakfast was the same taste-less items and everyday they were out of something. I would never waste my money here again.

This place was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. It was filthy and smelled terrible. The walls were covered in dirt, shoeprints, handprints footprints and what looked like bodily fluids. The beds were dirty with a bunch of hair and crumbs on them. The refrigerator smelled like someone stored stool samples in it. The furniture all appeared to have “happy” stains all over them. It was so disgusting, I didn’t even stay through the night I decided I would rather drive back home then sleep in this dumpster. The AC did not work well and the front cover was missing. The bathroom door does not shut or lock it’s just a slider. There were no screens on the windows so people could easily just hop in if they wanted or reach in a grab your items. Everything was covered in dust. I went to the lobby to ask for another room but as I was standing there I looked around and the lobby was filthy with dirty walls and a huge sticky puddle of someone’s spilled drink that had dried. I would never recommend that anyone stay here. My friend who was there with me decided to stay for the night and he survived, so there’s that. The staff was also pretty awful when I walked in. I stepped in the lobby they let out a sigh and said yes… overall this was the worst experience I have ever had a hotel.

Check-in took roughly 20 minutes as I had to wait for someone at the front desk to come back. I wasn't aware or told of the breakfast times or location. The TV was malfunctioning as there are lines on screen. The blow dryer was inoperable. I had to get a replacement from the office. Around 8:30 am I went to go get some breakfast in the front office and all the food was gone and wasn't being refilled. I only managed to get some coffee. Good things about the stay: The room was clean, the bed and pillows were comfortable. The A/C was working.
- 2/5
Almost everything in my room was broken. My door to my room wouldn’t shut and lock, unless from the outside pulling hard in the handle. The tv remote only controls the tv guide, no way to adjust the volume or turn off the tv. The sliding door for the shower doesn’t work, I was struggling to open and close it in the shower. Also the front desk lady just felt very miserable and didn’t want to be there (honestly don’t blame her) all in all it was ok for the 80$ but wouldn’t stay again

I needed a place to stay as i had an early morning medical appointment and I live about 99 miles away. It served it's purpose. However, it appeared that the room was not thoroughly cleaned. There was stray hair in the shower and when I pulled back the sheets, there was also strands of hair. I went and purchased a big bath towel to sleep on. When I came back from dinner, there were guest outside enjoy their alcoholic beverages in the parking lot. I would not recommend this property to solo female travelers.
- 2/5
Not that great
- 3/5
Air conditioning worked and was easy to turn on, but there was an occasional rattling that we believe was coming from the air conditioner while we had it on. The toilet also seemed to be partially broken in some way, as it would begin to flush when we would sit down and occasionally sounded like it would start to flush at random times. There were also some small splatters on the wall in the bathroom, not sure if they were stains or something else that just hadn’t been cleaned off between guests. The room was definitely what we needed for the night (a place to sleep and shower) but I do wish those things mentioned were working slightly better

Very old building and there’s only a half of glass shower door.
- 3/5
Comfortable bed and good parking. Room could definitely be cleaner.
- 2/5
It's very run down and essentially Motel 6 status. Paint on wall and ceilings is cracked and stained. The chair in the corner or my room was extremely stained and when we moved it behind/under it is filthy. It needs a good scrubbing and some fresh paint. Staff is friendly and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast was ok and offered hot options. At the end of the day it was cheap and very convenient for access to Sutter Medical.
- 3/5
Everything was okey, but very disappointing that the pool is not operational even that it is advertised on line.
- 0.5/5
This is the most disgusting place I've ever stayed. We knew it was going to be bad when we drove in and the 1st thing we see is a man peeing in the parking lot. The parking is awful, spaces are for compact cars. You can park but can't get out. The room was bad., The floor was taped down with black tape. The shower was the best thing about the entire place, had to wash the filth off. The towels felt like sand paper. The bed was a $10 bed frame probably bought off of Temu. Every move you made in bed it sounds like water bottles crushing. The headboard was coming off the wall. The sirens blaring in the middle of the night was a rude awakening. The homeless in the parking lot fighting and arguing was a bonus. At checkout the desk clerk was very rude. The reviews for this place are lies and probably made by the owners and staff. Supposed to have had upgrades we did not see anything that looked like it had been updated. Spend the extra money and don't stay here. This place needs to be condemned.
- 1/5
This was a rough stay. Upon arrival multiple unhoused individuals sleeping in front of motel office. While I was checking in one of the hotel guests left their room and walked through the parking lot completely topless in front of my 3 very young children. Our room was somewhat recently renovated but completely covered with hair from previous guests. The bedding, floor and bathroom all covered with different lengths and shades of hair. Really gross. There were screws missing from the shower door so it would just swing around loudly whoever you opened the shower door, shampoo dispenser empty. Had to keep my kids away from the outlet in the room that was hanging off the wall with wires exposed. Toilet gasket in poor repair so the upper tank wouldn’t fill, had to fiddle with that multiple times to get the toilet to flush. Staff was fine but nothing was done to resolve any of these problems during our stay. Rly poor experience.
- 5/5
I’m having a good experience
- 5/5
Clear room, was a nice experience.
- 2/5
Rooms were poorly cleaned and the restroom smelled horrendous. The hotel is not maintained well and it’s seems in the all scratches, dirty corners, and broken floors. I heard everything outside my room and around the hotel. Doors slamming, above tenants walking around, conversations, and car alarms. It was like sleeping in a tent outside.
- 5/5
Air conditioning was excellent. Staff was so nice, very accommodating. They never treated us rude. Maintenance was very helpful. If there was an issue it was addressed right away.
- 3/5
I thought I lost something in the room and when I went to search through the sheets as the maid was attempting to clean them, she grabbed the sheets from me aggressively, and we tussled back-and-forth until I was able to snatch them out of her hands and search for my property

The fan in the bathroom was bent/ broken. Looks like the unit wasn't cleaned and now shampoo or conditioner. Mold was on the walls near the bed and mold and holes in the bathroom. sliding door was broken. Wouldn't recommend it regardless of locations, Go to the Governor's Inns, way better rentals and worth the price. Will not be coming here again. Staff was super rude.

The hotel is old but is well maintained and the rooms are very clean. Good value for the cost. Owners are nice and work with you. The area is old Sacramento so it is what it is. Close to the hospital so was in easy walking distance while my wife had surgery.

Enjoyed our stay!

Close to the venue that I was at. Sketchy people roaming around frequently. The shower head in my room put more water on the floor than in the shower. The toilet felt like it was going to fall off of the wall.
- 4/5
You get what you pay for. I had no shampoo in my shower. It smelled like old paint in the room and the ac was really loud. I was just here for a show 20min away so it was whatever but the front desk lady was very nice. The breakfast was not the best but better than nothing. But I would say the bed and pillows were very comfy.
- 3/5
The room smelled. I left my shirt on the chair and it smelled like BO. Breakfast was not good at all. The location was good and so was the price.

Good return for the buck! The room was clean and quiet, wifi worked well, had great hot water, nothing to complain about. I really can't complain about anything. If I'm really picky, I'd prefer that the hotel will have a fence around it so I'll feel safer, but that's really "nice to have". Good place to stay!

The person at the front desk was friendly, but didn’t tell me how to find my room. I thought it might be obvious, but when it wasn’t I had to go back in and ask. The bathroom could definitely have been cleaner. I went to a concert nearby and when I got back around 11pm there were some very sketchy people in the parking lot and I was extremely uncomfortable. I kept hearing cars revving theirs engines in the parking lot all night so I didn’t get much sleep. I would not recommend this place, especially if you are a woman staying alone. I will not be staying here again. Which is a shame because it is close to Ace of Spades and the price was low, but now I know why!

We didn't take advantage of the complementary breakfast. The hotel is in the airline flight path so early morning hours had some planes overhead. Since it's warm in Sacramento we had the air conditioner going which helped cover that. For the reasonable price paid, the hotel worked well for us.

Very bare bones. More like a motel. Room was a good size though. Most rooms open up to the street but I got lucky and mine was an interior.
- 0.5/5
The check-in process. The location was sleazy, the room, elevator, and stairway smelled like smoke, the toilet had a dirty ring on the inside, and you had to hold the handle down for a complete flush. The heat/air system was noisy, and the bed had a metal skirting around it that made noise every time you got in or out of the bed, and it wasn't comfortable. The TV remote was taped, and dirty.

When I first arrived, I was put in a room downstairs facing the parking lot and the room next to me that people kept slamming their doors yelling. They were bumping music in the parking lot and this was all at like 1030 at night so when I called the front desk, they offered to put me in a different room, but I wasn’t trying to switch rooms at 10:30 at night as I was exhausted from traveling

The room was spotless. The staff was courteous. The beds were comfortable. It was conveniently located to the hospital where I was visiting my daughter in the Nicu so that was good. When I will state though is that there is a lot of drug and homeless activity and people arguing and it’s loud at night. There’s people that are allowed outside the door. There’s people that are allowed outside in the parking lot. Cops are called. It’s not a very safe neighborhood.

Staff very friendly & helpful. The place is as one might expect for 70$/ night. Bed was clean, tv worked- location was great. There are even some walkable spots nearby like the Food Coop, Pushkins & Jayna Gyro- that was a bonus. Easy parking too. I'd actually stay again if I am marooned in Sacramento for another storm.

Overall a good hotel stay. The room was clean, which is always a big plus. I also liked that the bar soap wasn’t the tiny typical size — it was actually a decent size. The LED mirror in the room was a nice touch, and breakfast was great. My only wish is that the breakfast hours were a bit longer since it ended at 9. We were lucky to have a first-floor room, so we didn’t have to carry our bags upstairs. Just keep in mind that parking is limited. Overall, a solid stay! Would definitely stay again. IHOP is in the same parking lot too incase you miss breakfast. Quick check in.

Room had a lot of hair around the bedsheets and the pillows. It was disgusting. I have kids and it was so uncomfortable! We asked to change rooms. Got new room. Checked, it was ok, but latr found some hair on pillows n bedsheets areas i didnt checked well. And both the rooms, the floor was gross, we wore socks and our socks had so much dust on it! So we barefooted and our feet got very black. The air conditioner/heater was very dusty. You can see the dust clinging onto it. Their windows have no mesh window screen, so unsafe for kids if open the windows. The cold was there for the fridge but not cold enough for things needed to be in fridge. I had milk so when we got home i was scare my milk wouldnt be good anymore due to fridge not being cold plus the +hrs drive back and not risk it so i threw it all away. I dont think we would stay here again.

A lot of the things in the room came broken (the bathroom door, the toilet, the hair dryer. There were chunks missing on the the floorbords and the bed frame. We asked for more towels and they never came. no one mentioned that there was any breakfast service (no times, no location given and not mentioned in the website) and we found out after we checked out. Room walls were thin and there was a mysterious banging in the walls (pipes???). There was not one there to check us in and the one time I needed to ask the front desk for a extra key card (also only gave us 1 key card for 2 people, forst time ive had that happen). The only time I didnt have the wait the be helped (and I waited like a very slow 5-7 each time) was when I was checking out.

The bed was not made and the room was not clean from the previous person. There were trash bags from the last person. As I was away during the day, a maid never came in to finish the bed or clean the room at all. I did not have a do not disturb sign on. The room was the same the two days I was there.

Checked in at 8:30 pm, got lost going to the property. Asked the staff if he can use my credit card instead of the one on file. He was hesitant but I insisted. Went to my room, double lock does not work. I used the bench to block the door from inside. Had to ask for help for TV. They have direct TV and if you are not savvy with it, just go to sleep. Walls have some dirt on it. Breakfast: there were homeless people in the breakfast area. One was hitting his head with hist hands while getting food and was screaming for help. Frankly I would not recommend this place at all!

I’ve stayed here at least 3 times. This time had a rough start with the white lady at the front desk just looking up at me and staring at me until I said “hi”. She was looking down when I approached so I wasn’t going to rudely interrupted. So then she proceeded with a silent check in. I know they usually ask for ID so I gave her a minute, but when she didn’t ask, I just set it on the counter for her to use when she was ready. The next thing that rubbed me wrong just had to due w her tone. She asked if I have a car and I told her “yes and there’s another car joining. I don’t have their license plate though”. She said we don’t need their license plate. Great, good to know. But w the less then friendly start to the interaction- you can see why it’s led me to write here. Other than that, our room smelled like cigarette smoke. But I normally don’t complain about that. Anyway- I’ll probably still stay here again because it’s affordable and I’ve never gotten a noise complaint. I’m hoping this will be the only unwelcoming welcome. Other than that- I can rideshare to lavender town for like $10. So now you know.

Room was fine, the exterior ground floor door had been damaged. Little concerned parking my car in the lot. Some homeless hanging out in parking lot but, biggest complaint was upon check out, the lobby door was locked at 6:20am, the female clerk opened the side door to see what I wanted, I showed her the room key and said I wanted to check out and she grabbed the key from me and said thanks closing the door! I knocked on the door and when she opened it again, I asked about my credit card being charged for incidentals, she said it would reflect in my credit card within 24 hours. I didn't make coffee in the room as I was hoping for breakfast which was advertised with room rates but, clearly that wasn't happening that day! Had to go to the local grocery for coffee and snacks before heading out of town.

If you’re looking to save a couple bucks DONT. it’s not worth it. Images were accurate but the smell and cleanliness is not there. My non smoking room was definitely smoked in. There was dust everywhere and the windows were layered with thick black mold. It’s an older hotel but that’s no excuse. It is definitely neglected. I did not wish to sit anywhere due to a fear of bringing something home. I have never experienced this before. I was shocked it was affiliated with a best western. I left and booked elsewhere. I was offered a new room but my husband was so put off by the whole experience of walking into our room we had to decline.
- 1/5
This hotel is just a motel 6 with a new coat of paint. 7.8 stars is a joke. Don't stay here if you have kids. Drug deals in the lot, drug deals in the room, prostitutes on the prowl, it's just unsafe.
- 4/5
Helpful staff and very clean
- 4/5
Very clean. Very convenient. Friendly staff. Economical. The mini fridge has no freezer compartment, which would be nice.
- 3/5
Late staff wasnt the most welcoming but also just seemed to be uninterested. The room was alright but the bathroom door latch was gone and wouldnt stay close, the bed was flimsy and hurt after sometime of sleeping on, and the ceiling was showing signs of water damage.

Everything was very pleasant I will come again.

This place is great for a quick stay in Sacramento. The hosts are very responsive and nice. The neighborhood is a little sketchy but there is plenty of security.

The staff was absolutely amazing. However the area was shady and lots of homeless activity. The room didn’t feel clean and smelled like cigarette smoke. I don’t know if there was food on the wall or it was snot. We checked in and checked right out.

very good quality especially for the price. Will definitely stay again when I am in Sacramento

Nice and clean. Friendly staff.
- 4/5
The front desk people at both check-in and check-out were brusque, but efficient. Not particularly friendly, but not rude either. The blinds in my room were stuck in the down position and I couldn't get them to move. And the shower was one of those ridiculous half-wall, no sliding glass door situations, which always makes me feel like I'm going to flood the bathroom. It was cheap. A good spot to stop for the night on my way through, but I probably wouldn't do an extended stay there.
- 4/5
zzzzzzzzzzzz
- 4/5
The room was very nice bad is my remote didn’t work from time to time and my key card stopped working one time other than that stay there was very very welcoming and very very good
- 5/5
All the staff were very friendly. The woman at check-in (I didn't catch her name) was very kind, and Nicole at check-out was friendly too! It's a bit of a busy area at night.
- 2/5
Terrible location, noisy and old. There was not enough food for breakfast, they didn’t clean the room, the room needed touch-ups. I had to ask for more towels. There was no mat for the shower. I didn’t like it.
- 2/5
I checked in to the hotel and when I walked in my room there was someone there painting my room. I went back down to let the front desk know and they said “oh, they will be done soon”. I asked for another room as I did not want to sleep in a paint filled room all night. They provided another room and it was not clean. There were crumbs and hair all over the ground. The air conditioning until was broken and dirty. All of the vents were caked in dust and dirt. The area was not very safe for a women staying alone. It seemed like a hot spot for meth heads. I would not recommend staying here. I felt very unsafe and it was not clean.

needed to sleep and rest and that was the perfect spot. Only thing is the Wi-Fi needs to be updated or reset or something. Being told that I needed to upgrade to a paying Wi-Fi when the regular Wi-Fi did not work was not an okay option either

I was comfortable And Incredible shower Quiet didn't feel that I had to look under every chair or turn on every light fell asleep comfortably I love it!
- 4/5
The room was clean and the staff were helpful!
- 4/5
Room was very clean, friendly staff, convenient location and very economical. Only drawback for me was no freezer compartment in the fridge. Breakfast was satisfactory, but don’t get there late, as some tenants take advantage. I saw 2 ladies carry out 10 yogurts each and a dozen sausages each. Glad I found this place. Area is a little sketchy but I will definitely stay here again.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Very modern room was clean and comfortable. Their sheets were not so great but other than that it was a great stay.

So there are a few maintenance things that they could take care of, but overall I am still 100% happy with my decision to stay here. it is a lovely location, nice site, nice staff, good breakfast. If it was warmer, I might have enjoyed the cute pool.
- 4/5
Great value and convenient location
- 2/5
The room itself was not terrible. What made the stay unbearable was the smell of curry that lingered throughout the entire hallway and into our room. It's obvious people are cooking in the room illegally. If you know anything about curry, the smell is pungent and lingers. I would never stay here again. 5 rooms away and you cannot escape the smell.
- 3/5

- 3/5
Windows filthy, no screens on them also. No lock to restrict window movement. Bathroom clean.
- 4/5
Everything was totally fine and worth the rate.

rooms are very clean! plenty of parking on property. the area is a little sketchy but luckily you need a room key to enter the elevators to the rooms ! short distance between midtown and 2 minute walk from ihop. i booked the hotel same day for 85$ definitely worth the price, overall would recommend if you are staying in a group and not by yourself.
- 5/5
Spacious room with a very comfortable bed. Conveniently located within walking distance of Sutter Medical Center.

Normally a place gets bad rating and it’s not really that bad. Because people want to pay two star prices but get 5 star services. Now that being said. This place has great reviews and it’s one of the worst places I’ve ever stayed at. First homeless everywhere, at the ihop 24/7, in the parking lot 24/7, on the side walk 24/7. Second every room you pass, the hall way, the elevator, even my room smells like weed. Third everything is broken, my door didn’t close correctly, had to slam it, the dead bolt didn’t work, the toilet would shack and made noise like it going to explode, key card would shut off randomly and so on. Towels so thin, they feel air light. Ac would back fire randomly (not really, but when the cooling system turned on, it popped so loud that it sounded like it). The tv remote was covered in banaids, with black tape and then wrapped the whole thing in scotch tape. The only thing and I mean the only thing good about this place. Is the bed, it’s super comfortable. Not the pillows, better off using the towels as pillows. And lastly. My door and several other doors on my floor had damage, where it looks like someone tried to pop the doors open. Not even painted over, can clearly see where the tool was placed and wood is missing from the force. I give this one (homeless lady looking into cars in the parking lot) out of five.
- 4/5
The room was nice and clean. The continental breakfast was kind of sucky. The staff was nice.
- 4/5
Hot tub pool
- 3/5
really nice staff check in and check out was super easy, but when we got into our hotel room, it looked clean at a quick glance and then i looked closer and noticed that the shower had stains still maybe they are really hard to come off, the floor was hardwood and it looked like it had not been mopped or swept at all there was a lot of stuff on the bathroom floor and corners of things i could not make out.
- 5/5
Nice stay, affordable room.
- 4/5
It is in an area that isn’t very good If you going to just sleep and leave I recommend it There is an amazing sweet waitress at the Ohio in the restaurant very happy at 4 am which is rare I’ll be back because I’m all about a good bed!!
- 5/5
Would stay again just hits everything you need in a nice luxury experience with an affordable price
- 4/5
It was perfect and affordable for our one night stay. Breakfast options were limited but okay to snack on. Beds were very comfortable and the rooms were nice and cool. Shower has no door and bathroom has no lock, but besides that it was a very nice stay
- 5/5
The Midtowner is a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel conveniently located in Sacramento's Midtown. It has all the comforts one expects. The exterior may appear a bit shabby, but the rooms appear to have been recently refurbished. It is my new go to hotel in Sacramento.
- 4/5
Good staff
- 5/5
perfect for our work trip. I wish the stay was longer

We just stayed one night, wanted relatively cheap and clean room. It was moving day to Sac State for our kid, so we wanted to stay one night to rest after helping her moving in, before heading back to Santa Cruz. Room was simple, but clean. Bed was pretty comfortable. The only thing that it was a bit too noisy, people walking by and talking, fan was pretty loud as well. Maybe getting room next time on the 2nd floor would be better to help with some foot traffic noise. They offer breakfast from 7-9am. We woke up late, and ready to check out (it was around 9:45), but we asked the receptionist about their breakfast, and even though it was after 9am, this nice guy let us go into the breakfast room (they did not clean it yet) and we were able to help ourselves with eggs, sausages, bagels, good coffee, orange juice. They also had cereal, yogurt and some fruit. It was pretty nice of him to let us in and eat something. I do not know your name, but you were working at the reception on Friday morning 08/22/2025. Thank you for being so nice.
- 2/5
Wasn’t expecting first class, but it was pretty rough. Cockroaches in bathroom, dirty floors, stained walls and linens, filthy ac, overall just dirty. Staff for check in was friendly and quick, so that’s a plus.
- 4/5
Nice and newly remodeled.
- 3/5
Me and my daughter were going to stay before and after Lainey Wilson concert at the Golden 1 arena but decided to go home after concert as we werent comfortable in our 209 room. My bed next to the AC/window was damp. The tv remote didnt work. We were in the room for 2hrs and i messaged about leaving and having a partial refund and got no response at all. I went to the office and there was 8 of us in there, i tried calling the office to get someone to come in and no one appeared we were waiting for 20min before i decided to leave.
- 5/5
This place is so cute! Rooms are large with a pretty large mini fridge. Owner is friendly, and with a room key to get to the 2 upper levels, I felt very safe. It was pretty quiet, too.
- 2/5
Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Throughout the night, the door kept shifting, and it felt like someone was pulling on the handle. I couldn’t tell if it was the wind or something else, but it was unsettling and made it hard to feel comfortable. At checkout, the experience was disappointing. No one was at the front desk and the door was locked, so I waited. Eventually, a woman came out from the back door with an irritated expression. When I politely asked if she worked in the office, she snapped back “yes, what do you need?” I told her I needed to check out, and although she forced a smile, her attitude was rude and unprofessional. She mentioned something about flooding in the back room, but by then the interaction had already left a very negative impression.

My wife and I came to Sacramento for a concert (Yelawolf), and we stayed at the Midtowner. Other than some idiot parking so close to my car I had to go in through the passenger side to leave the next morning, it was a great experience. There are a lot of late night places to eat as well within walking distance. Area seemed safe. We had a great time and will stay here when we are back in Sac.

Beds were comfy, so comfy bed bugs lived in it. Woke up with 10 bites. Also saw a cockroach I think but started running around in the counter.
- 2/5
The area was sketchy, they’re was a group of people in the far back parking area smoking out of pipes standing around the elevator entrance. The room floors were dirty, the bathroom door had a broken lock handle so the door kept sliding open.. overall we will not be returning
- 2/5
Pros: The bed, air conditioning, fridge, microwave, hair dryer, ironing board, and elevator were great and optional stairs. Lots of lights inside the room. The hot and cold water options were the highlight of the stay. Basic breakfast was provided. IHOP restaurant is within the parking lot. Things to improve: The sliding washroom door does not close. It just keeps sliding back to its original position. No closet, only hooks to hang your clothes. Didn’t notice daily room service. Given 2 sets of towels for 5 days stay and had to ask more at the front desk. Detailed cleaning along the walls and corner edges of the washroom would be nice. Except for the manager, the front desk needs more knowledge/training to check reservation and answer questions. He acknowledges that he’s new to the job. We had a convention of 15,000 attendees and there were no other options to find replacement hotel, otherwise, I’ll probably check out the following day.
- 4/5
I liked the location and price for it. But mostly the room felt spacious even with a king size bed
- 2/5
Swimming pool was closed on VERY hot day with no explanation. Front desk staff are not very hospitable or helpful. The property is rundown and has a problem with unhoused people in the parking lot. The room itself was fine, but the property is otherwise like a flophouse. Similar to most budget motels in cities.
- 4/5

- 3/5
The room itself was a solid 3/5. It was comfortable abd offered more than the basics. It could have used fresh paint and a little deep cleaning. Most guests seemed okay, a few were... yeah.

- 5/5
Nice staff clean rooms
- 3/5
Dislike: Sketchy surrounding, Female owner was very loud doing a videocall while checking me in. Did not get a hospitable vibe from her.
- 1/5
Got no sleep bad part of the city I’m assuming Radom people outside screaming.. pool wasn’t open for some reason. Problems with my key was told it works and that all. Toilet constantly ran and broken parts in the bathroom.
- 3/5
Not impressed, but across the street by Sutter Creek.. it was beautiful
- 1/5
I stayed for three nights, but unfortunately I didn’t sleep well on any of them.
- 1/5
The pictures do not do this place justice it's unsafe The pool was not open due to being under maintenance there were no safe places to walk around the hotel, a TV did not work our entire time we stayed. They offered a discount on a future stay but that's not going to be a thing.

Immediate area around the hotel is a little rough, litter and unhoused people. However, we walked to a very good restaurant less than 2 blocks away and felt safe. Covered Parking on site with free parking pass felt secure. Room was clean and recently thoroughly renovated with sleek and contemporary style. We also were unable to get tv to work properly. Slept well and comfortably.

This is an older property that has been attractively refreshed and updated with a minimalist red, gray, black and white pallette, centrally located within walking distance of Sacramento's Midtown shopping abd dining It could become my new go to hotel.

Dirty and scary part of town. When we walked to our room, another group of ppl excited their room and started to groom each other, complaining of bed bugs. Our room had cigarette burns on the sink and tv table. Pool was locked and told the “pool was under construction”, despite advertising it on orbits. We didn’t stay. Booked elsewhere. Avoid this place!

Mildew in bathroom on ceiling on bathroom, no call not comped!
- 2/5
the rooms were still dirty so they had to reassign us to other rooms and this was a bit time consuming. This was either because of poor communication or insufficient staffing but not certain that I would stay there again.

Cleanliness could improve, hair left in towels and hair in bed sheets, floors were dirty, ac vent should at least be dust- it blew out so much dirty

For the price you are getting a very clean room, flat screen TV, working AC, comfy bed with clean sheets, decent bathroom. A solid breakfast with warm food to include sausage and eggs every morning. Really can’t be beat. The only complaint would be the homeless in the vicinity.

There were cop cars that literally pulled up our first night here.

Comfy bed, quiet stay, felt safe as a solo woman traveler & decent price for stay

The staff was very helpful in making sure my stay would be pleasant. I needed to order food to go and she phoned in the order for me.

Upon entering the room, initially everything looked fine, however, after walking around we noticed that it was pretty dirty. Floors were filthy with crumbs and stains as if the room hadn’t been properly cleaned. The toilet did not flush right and the TV did not work.

Good quality

I am a person who like to be fair, so I'll keep it short and to the point. Worse place i have ever stayed. Bed bugs, staff with confronting attitude, and i had to file three different report wity Best Western. To wrap up if a time came where I needed to stay in the vicinity of this hotel, i would sleep outside. Also housekeeping did notshow every four days as communicated to me.

A couple problems with the room which the staff handled but not in a very timely manner. The area around the hotel is a bit dicey.

We stay here often but this time we had issues with our television going on and off all night.

Room was spacious, comfy bed, but floors were a bit dirty, room was not vacuumed. Across the street from a shady hotel with several homeless coming through the parking lot.

Absolutely great

Lots of homeless and mentally ill people. Felt unsafe, so I was quick to go in_out of my room. Also, the window only had a shade, so if I wanted light I was exposing my room. Overall, cheap & I do not recommend.

Well I live in the city but I was getting work done on my place - this hotel is okay - nothing more nothing less . But my first room had mildew on the walls and stains and holes on the walls- dust webs. Then ones up getting another room right next door - upon checking in - the tv was on to Hispanic channel - I thought that was weird. My pillow cases was dirty with ketchup stains on it and stains on chairs . I asked for service - they took 3.5 hours to come change my bedding … smh - the lady had a nasty rude attitude - I ask for maintenance for blinds and no one came -Managment did nothing . However breakfast was a 5 out of 10

Room was very dusty and and floors were dirty. Complimentary breakfast was good though.

The staff was very nice. The property is located in a not so great area. Homeless hanging around and begging as you are got your room.

A solid 'motel' style option. I chose the hotel primarily based on location and proximity to the light rail and bus network. The staff were the highlight - very helpful and very welcoming. Breakfast offered a good range - and it was very useful to have the fridge in the room. A 2-star rating is fair. The hotel was showing its age a little - there were a couple of broken electrical fittings in the room, the room and could do with a paint. The advertised swimming pool looked in very poor condition - I am not sure if it was open, but I wouldn't have gone near it due to its condition. There were plenty of eating options within a 5-10 min walk and a supermarket too.

They need to be sure the rooms are clean

Second time staying here, excellent service. Breakfast place next door. Quiet.

Shower had long black hair on the floor and toilet had curly black hair on the outside of the bowel. I skipped breakfast because the sausage was cold and there were no eggs! The neighborhood was sketchy too- there was some guy throwing a knife repeatedly into a tree trunk.

Having stayed in hundreds of hotels, I can confidently say this one was the worst. I checked in yesterday and left before unpacking after finding human pubic hair on the nightstand, stray hairs and toenail clippings scattered everywhere, and mysterious splatters on the headboard. The room looked decent at first glance, but its filth felt like a biohazard. On my way out, I witnessed a man jumping between three different vehicles in the parking lot in what appeared to be suspicious exchanges. Avoid this placunsafe, unsanitary, and among the worst I’ve ever encountered

Enjoyed my stay, will definitely stay there again!

very nice and convenient

Nice clean room recently refurbished - good price and value

The staff was responsive for the most part. Room cleaning is by request and they don't do a thorough job unless you are there. Most hotels breakfast is 6-9 during the week and 7-1030 on weekends. Not here, breakfast is 7-9 even on the weekends. There always seemed to be somebody yelling at the top of their lungs. I stayed there 17 days because it was close to the hospital I was working, but quit my job and was happy to leave. Overall it's ok for a night or 2. And I think that's their goal.

Clean and comfortable, good eating.

Room was not ready at 3:00, no big deal, but when it was it was still kind of dirty and smelt like chemicals. We had a drug addict standing in front of the door smoking "something" parking was shady, drug addicts wondering around, some guy walking in circles talking to himself. But it was a close walk to the new Channel 24 venue. One block away across the freeway is a great neighborhood leading to the venue. Hopefully they will clean this place up and get a security guard on site.
