The pool was closed. The air-conditioning didn’t work in the bed was very uncomfortable.

When we arrived from an all day trip we found out the pool and jacuzzi were closed. When I went to my room I found an open condom package in the bedroom on a seat like cushion. I called to let them know. They didn’t offer to change rooms or come and clean up the wrapper. I loved that it had 2 separate rooms but it felt dirty because of the condom. The breakfast was basic. We wanted to stay on our way home but that experience deterred us from ever going there. I also spoke to the manager in the morning.

We stayed in a suite. One shower didn’t work. Maid service was good. There was a mariguana smell in the hall when we left and when we came back.
- 3/5
I arrived very late after a delayed flight and check in was lengthy, no help with luggage, and a key could not be made for my room. It took an hour for me to get into another room. The internet would not work and the drain was broken on the tub. Very poor experience.

We had a very nice stay at lions gate as we were visiting Sacramento and nearby areas. It’s a very comfortable stay and quite different setup than regular hotel. Breakfast was very good and filling.

Good value, but needs some maintenance and redecoration to maintain a three star rating.

The history behind the property is facinating for anyone especially those of us who are military families. The gorgeous palm trees and landscaping are truly so beautiful. The "Officers Club" bar area is fun and lends more to the history of the building. Pet friendly, lots of areas to walk your dogs, very clean outside too. The AC unit directly outside our room was VERY loud, and made a squeal sound, and then would turn off. So our room never got below 71 degrees. Thankfully the outside temps were mid 70's and not too hot, but I imagine this would be an issue in the serious heat that comes in during the summer. Our room was cool, but very outdated w/paint and trim work around doors.

Some room/s are deemed unsafe to break-ins, in my view, windows don't function or unlockable, others doors with giant gaps where my fingers get inside to open door that is locked but can be opened without a key, (I was given this room and tried it .. and went back to the front desk to exchange for different room)

Old hotel but clean. We stayed only one night, as we were traveling through.

I am extremely disappointed in my recent stay not only due to the staff and lack of they were extremely rude and it was like I was an inconvenience to them. Now the room wasn’t at all what I expected or what I paid for dust everywhere. No mini bar . Ummm no stoppers for tubs. Couldn’t get thermostat to go lower than 69 degrees. Chips in paint everywhere toilet seat was chipped up really bad. Microwave was very very old and took a very very long time to warm food. The knob to turn shower on was broken, the bathroom sinks were falling out… oh then the hostess told me that breakfast was a full blown buffet… I’m thinking omelette everything no it’s the same normal breakfast as every where else. I am going to send this higher up because I would like to know how this is going to be fixed and I tell you the pictures you have on the internet of the room I rented and the details then walk in total disappointment.. Wanted to enjoy the jacuzzi spa but it wasn't open on the hours that they said, the state was good just wanted to enjoy the spa.

If you need a place to stay for the night traveling through it’s a good spot. Rooms are big, clean and staff was very helpful. We got in super late and we went to breakfast at 9:15 and they were already closing it so we missed it. The bath was so huge I couldn’t barely get in it to take a shower. It was overly large and weird and awkward. Other than that it was fine. Probably won’t stay for that reason tho the shower was bad.

From check-in to checkout everything was great! The room was super clean, location was convenient, pool was nice and clean and even a delicious hot breakfast. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and kind. I will be back, thank you!

I liked this place a lot , the only thing that I don’t quite like was that the Temperature was set by then and only below 60 it would automatically turn on but if it’s above 60 it would be off even though you feel cold , it wasn’t that bad but I just wish I could control the heating ! Our room was very good , clean and cozy, I liked that there was a tv and a fridge in the room , coffee maker and microwave , I liked it a lot and it was worth to pay the price , and wasn’t even that expensive in my opinion

Room was nice, staff was nice and it was in a good location. I stepped on a roach at 3am

Stayed here for a quick overnight. The place is very interesting being an old army airbase. The overall property is off the main road and grounds were maintained. The room we had was in the older section of the hotel. The room was fine, bed a bit hard and overall cleanliness of the room average (could have been cleaner). Overall though, a great value for the money and better than staying at a chain hotel that is loud and on a busy street or near the freeway. Would go back overall cleanliness of the rooms I was dissppointed in the bathroom area.
- 5/5
The property was private which provided some privacy for guests and was well lit for safety, although there did not appear to be any safety concerns. Clean, accommodating, and had no unusual scent in the rooms when entering. I would love to stay again and check out the amenities. We had a short stay, checked in late and left early. Didn’t get to try the breakfast or pool. I give great referrals and love to give them too! I stick to what I know and so far this place has an A+ for the time we had there. Registration personnel was welcoming at registration, on point with information and direction with a delightful personality. I myself have been a Manager for a chain of boutique hotels in San Francisco and hold a high standard of hospitality. I have no complaints about him or his service. I have no complaints. I would refer and stay again.

I had to keep the water shut off. I immediately contacted the front desk. I was told they didn’t have a maintenance person available, but would come and fix it the next morning. I was out the whole day for the next day. When I came back at night, I thought the problem would be fixed. Wrong - nothing was done. Not a note either. That was rather disappointing! I didn’t bother calling again as it was late and I was leaving the next morning. Besides the bathroom issues, there was a lot of dust on the nightstand. Clearly cleaning was on par with the bathroom fixtures - not good!

We have stayed here several times. We enjoyed our time at the pool, the breakfast was delightful, staff is friendly and bubbly. The price was affordable. Loved the aviation decor in our room. This place has a happy vibe.

Quick and easy check in and the free breakfast was great. Buildings were older but the rooms were updated.

Neat location, but quite rundown. Room was spacious and convenient, but grungy. Musty smelling room and furniture, non-functioning mini bar sink, moldy closet that had been leaking, keys to the room demagnetized several times.

The hot tub was closed and very dirty. Pool was dirty. The breakfast ended at 9 am so we were never able to experience it due to leaving before it started and returning after it ended. 9 am is early to end breakfast.

I was surprised to find the hotel to be a series of redecorated airforce barracks. By and large, it was a well maintained and pleasant area. What I did not know was that I had to park the equivalent of 2 blocks away from check-in, as it was a busy holiday weekend. my room was another equivalent of 1-2 blocks away. I had to drag luggage all his distance. There was no elevator (I am 74 and at this point, I was exhausted). The room was quite nice. The bath tub area had stretches of very visible black mold, and as I am treated for mold allergies, this distressed me. The very old tub had no grab bars, no anti-slip strips, and was, not to exaggerate, extremely slippery and dangerous. I had to place a towel on floor of tub to prevent slipping. After shower, I found that the restaurant was closed (6 pm). The neighborhood is light industry, nothing but a rare fast food outlet. Nearest residential neighborhood was clearly impoverished, nearly devoid of businesses on streets. I was hungry and tired, in a town not familiar to me. I left and went back home to San Francisco.

My first priority was safety. First time in 50 yrs I traveled alone. I was very nervous as an older female traveler. Downtown does not have a good reputation. It's an old military compound that was converted into a huge hotel. Many military folks are there. My daughter had gone w a clogging convention & she loved it. So did I. The rooms were older, but beautifully designed. Nice presentation of the bed & towels. Good bedside lighting. Plug-ins for your electronics (but not high speed). Two wastebaskets, great desk. I slept like a baby. Also tons of parking & an "Officers Club Restaurant" that served scrambled eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, toast, cereal, great coffee & juices. Outdoor & indoor seating. Lovely. I will only stay there from now on. Some of the paint is wearing in the bathroom. But it was clean & shower great.

The historic location & the ghosts. The rooms are clean. Nice landscaping and some shade. The area is quiet, traffic is far enough away you don't hear it. Ample parking but you'll want to drive to breakfast. The breakfast offerings were limited Wed. and meh but was good last Tuesday. Pool is cold and not clean, the hot tub doesn't work. The coffee pot wouldn't shut off and I had to unplug it. Having to use a card key to get in the building when carrying a bunch of stuff and only having seconds before the door closes is annoying.

I was very impressed with how clean the room was. It’s been updated. The staff was very good very professional to work with. Honestly the only concern I have is that they do not have elevators. Makes it a little bit difficult for people with problems to maneuver to the second floor. There was a disability elevator, but it wasn’t working. But overall, I was very happy with the choice and it was good value for my money.

Very spread out property. Two stories with elevator. Had to carry luggage to second floor.

The graveyard front desk person I apologize I do not remember is name, but he was really great and extremely thoughtful. I went to my room and the AC was up all the way. It was freezing in the room. I turned the dinosaur thermostat to warm and figured it may take sometime to warm up and I called down to the lobby and asked for extra blankets. This gentleman said “absolutely” and he would bring them right away. At which he did since the heat didn’t seem to be catching up an I fell asleep it was fine. The next morning I was freezing and had to work I work remotely. But it was fine with the outside pretty warm. The room was not the best but nowhere near the worst. The sink had a crack, there was small awkward window right at chest height. So I felt a little better today strange when I used the shower lol

Booking on the app I went for the best priced room which ended up being a king bedroom suite, the bathroom was dated and had a light that even when off hummed which was obnoxious. The room itself was also old and dated. For the price and cleanliness I’ll give this a 4/5. Breakfast options are far better than many of the mainline similar price point hotels. They put pepper in their food (I’m allergic so that is my own issue that was annoying) but they have a nice spread to choose from aside from bad coffee. 4.5/5 Some of their solo rooms, not suites would be nice to get as a cheaper room on the app and I’d go back & stay in one of those rather than the suites but their older dated suites show up on here for cheaper than their updated double bed rooms. It’s interesting how this hotel charges more for 2 beds and others don’t. I’d pay for a room with 2 beds to save on space and less cleaning of a larger suite but their older/dated larger rooms with single beds are cheaper than the small rooms without amenities but 2 beds. This is lost on me. I don’t manage hotels so I’m not rating this, just adding it as a comment or thought.

This was a great choice for a hotel. It was clean and comfortable. We got breakfast free every morning while we stayed and it was quiet and peaceful. The room was clean and they supplied shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Also lotion and bar soap as well. It was very nice and they even have a laundry room that you can wash your clothing that is available.

Was there for a volleyball tourney at Cal Sports Expo at McClellan. Facility was nearby and relatively clean, though a bit run down. We were supposed to have 2 queen beds but they were full sizes. Not cool. Also, the jacuzzi was out of order and the pool towels were more like rags. We were originally a family of 4 when I booked (hence the need for 2 queens, which is more expensive) but there were only towels for 2 people. Breakfast was convenient but the offerings felt like prepackaged foods that were just heated up. Eggs were gross. No bacon. There were sausage patties but those are too processed.

Simple spread. American breakfast. Bagel, toast, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, bananas. We ate the first day but did not feel like going back for the second time. Could be better for the price I am paying. I called for the tv because it had no signal. They said they are sending someone. Called them back numerous times and no one answered the ring. They probably could tell where the call was coming from. Waited for an hour for someone to show up but no one did. We left the room because we had to be somewhere. There was no follow up and no one checked the tv. I paid for $200 plus because it was the weekend rate and expected more but we were left with no tv. At least the internet signal was strong. Rooms were acceptable although outdated style. Plenty of parking although the closest parking are always competitive.

I liked the historical location, the landscaping, the bed and pillows. I was also looking for a haunted location and I wasn't disappointed with that. The room was hot, a/c wasn't on and took a long while to cool it down. When I turned on the shower it had rust come out. The breakfast was okay, I thought the scrambled eggs were very bland it could have used some butter or margarine, the sausage also tasted kind of funny and it would have been nice if they had some bacon. There is also no elevator that I could use it was some sort of odd wheelchair elevator that I guess you need a staff person to operate?

Close proximity to Capitol Sports Complex where my daughter was playing in a volleyball tournament. The carpet in the hallway had duck tape across it, holding a seem together. The carpet was old and gross with stains, the counter tops were chipped and pealing, the bathroom mirror was cracked and old and outdated. The road noise was loud, prostitutes seen on the street just outside the hotel.

I normally get a room here while doing my medical treatment and so I come here for some relaxation and recouping but the first time I stayed it was extremely cold and I mentioned it to the front desk and I was offered extra linen. OK however the second time same thing, it was extremely cold you couldn’t adjust that thermometer. I slept in my clothes all night. The rooms are clean staff great breakfast is good as well, however I no longer indulging bar beverages overall it was a good thing. My main complaint is the thermostat it was freezing.

The room was cramped with furniture. No gym. Decently priced, but for a just a little more probably would have been better to just go somewhere else with better amenities.

The room was nice. Sort of military grade, but it was OK. Temperature was warm and we could not find the Thermostat. Elevator was broke so we had to use Stairs we are luggage. Which could have been rectified if we would’ve got a unit on the bottom since it did not look like all the units were filled. They did have an electric charger, which was cool. The pros, great value. Room was very clean and perfect for a quick one night stay. Water didn't take forever to get hot. Area was very quiet. The cons, the mattress was not comfortable. You could definitely feel the springs beneath, but it's not the worst. The room doesn't stay dark as they have shudders instead of curtains. Also, the bed itself isn't fixed to the wall/frame. It will move and it will be noisy.

A nice stay on the property. I believe its an old navel/military base. Its clean and quiet. I was not satisfied about the style of our room as it seemed like it was a room for a disabled person hence the big shower with a chair in side and rails next to the toilet. It wasn't a problem but I wish I was aware to see if I could have a regular room. It was also a bit confusing on the map to get to the room as I didn't know it was inside, the map made it look outside. I also was going to pay at the front desk with apple pay but they did not have that. Staff was nice and the bar seemed nice although we didn't use it

Overall very nice. With a kitchenette, there was nothing in silverware, plates, napkins, tissue, paper towels or anything like that. Maybe that is unreasonable to expect there would be anything other than clean bare cupboard and mini fridge. It also had a comically tiny “dining table” (I am assuming that’s what it was?). Maybe 2 feet long and a foot wide?

This place was so annoying to say the least. Old appliances (microwave from 1991), shower head sticking really far out of the wall... All of those things I don't care so much about when it comes to the big issue. THIS PLACE HAS NO ELEVATOR. If you have a lot of luggage, any kind of boxes, or anything heavy it sucks so much. Also if you're disabled I wouldn't even think about it. We had about 20 cases with us each roughly $20 that we had to lug up and down a tiny staircase each day as they had no rooms on the bottom. Also the staff sounded so annoyed when I inquired about a bottom room on the second day. They even have a wheelchair lift but it doesn't work so no luck there. The breakfast was exactly the same as any other hotel out there, basic sausage, biscuits, waffle machine... nothing special, just overall annoying and I will be happy to stay at another place next time.

I liked the location, the fact it presents a lot of the area's military history, and was clean - for its age - and comfortable. I liked how easy it was to access the room without stairs. I liked the included breakfast. The hall carpet in our wing was in need of cleaning. I suppose that comes with the age of the historic buildings and the fact that our section experiences more ADA "foot traffic".
- 2/5
Free breakfast but the quality of the food was not great.

Our room had a dripping shower and a sink that was backed up. We would have to wash our hands very quickly so that the sink wouldn't have a clog because the type of sink basins used are not deep to begin with. The beds either have broken support or are too soft causing discomfort. We would wake up not feeling rested enough to start the day.

Hot tub closed down, rooms tiny and not what they seemed, no elevator, rooms old and felt uncomfortable. Did not resemble pictures online
- 4/5
Stairs no elevator. Staff wasn't clear about it being up stairs second time I was told
- 5/5
Great breakfast and friendly staff. The lobby was a little difficult to find at night in the rain upon arrival.
- 2/5
Rooms need some remodeling. Trim work and new paint. Soap dispenser in shower was broken.
- 4/5
Location was good and near many restaurants and stores. The breakfast was very good and had a lot of selections from hot and cold items. Room suite was very clean and roomy. The bed was very comfortable. Had a great stay and will be back.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great! Room service was great! The room was nice and clean !
- 5/5
I loved the comfort and beautiful patio!
- 5/5
Great place
- 3.5/5
The bathroom sink was very slow to drain, and the tub shower combo had water leak all over the floor even though we had the shower curtain tucked inside the tub. Also we could not control the temperature inside the room, if we wanted it warmer, the control went right back to its original setting.
- 4/5
This time I did run into some issues. First room i checked into still had dirty beds. They did move us rooms which was nice but then the t.v. wasn't working in the other one which isnt good when you have 2 little kids. Eventually I got the TV to kinda work but it kept cutting out of signal.
- 4/5
Good breakfast. Easy drive to airport.

- 5/5
The breakfast was not delicious but it was fully stacked so I was able to have oatmeal and fruit.
- 5/5
Everything was top notch.
- 2/5
Not particularly healthy food. Very greasy overall.
- 4/5
Nice safe quiet place
- 1.5/5
The furniture was pretty old, the windows didn't work properly, a lot of stuff didn't work properly, and it was very noisy since the room was right next to the main hotel room entrance. And the hot tub was closed during our stay which was a real bummer, it was disappointing but still better than any of the other options nearby.

I was disappointed that The pictures on the site dont match the room i was in. It was older room, while clean. Wasn't what i was expecting.

- 5/5
Rooms are clean and super cute. I always stay here with my family when I come to Sacramento. Lots of good Mexican and Chinese food within a short drive. They also have a great breakfast in the morning until 9.
- 3/5
On the positive side, the staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming at check-in, which made the experience smoother. The rooms were clean during both of my stays, which I really appreciated. One downside is that in the building I stayed in, there was no working elevator, which could be inconvenient depending on your needs. Overall, it’s a decent option for a short stay, especially if you’re looking for something affordable and clean.
- 5/5
The room is clean. They provide good breakfast options. Parking is almost occupied but you can still find a few spots during the night. Parking is free.
- 3/5
The AC was too loud and didn’t function effectively. The pillows were uncomfortable, and the breakfast was average.
- 3/5
The bed was so hard, it made my back and hips hurt. The bathroom is missing a plug for the sink and bathtub which was concerning. Also, most hotels have a list of the TV channels or there is a guide button on the remote , there was neither in this room.
- 3/5
The hallways smelled weird. However once in your room it smelled nice. No comforter. Just a thin blanket with sheet on top. Could hear the road traffic. Breakfast was watery powdered eggs and very thin gravy with biscuits.
- 5/5
Clean room Business-friendly Staff are great
- 5/5
EXCELLENT PLACE!
- 4/5
Breakfast is amazing, bed.. not so much.
- 5/5
Pleasantly surprised! Great value, nice restaurant, and clean, safe surroundings.
- 1/5
It took quite a while for our server, Juan, to even come by to take our drink order, and the wait continued for both drinks and food. What was most frustrating was how long it took to get something as simple as ranch—I asked for it and it took about 10 minutes to arrive. By that point, I had already finished my meal, so it was completely pointless and I ended up leaving it on the table untouched. In addition to the slow service, Juan came across as pushy and somewhat rude when we asked for things. Instead of making the experience better, his attitude made it uncomfortable. Another concern was the noticeable lack of security. There didn’t seem to be any staff presence monitoring the area, which made the environment feel a bit uneasy and not as safe or well-managed as it should be. Overall, the lack of attentiveness, long wait times, poor customer service, and lack of security really took away from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. I expected much better and unfortunately would not return or recommend this place based on this visit.

This hotel was a pleasant surprise and a real hidden gem, as it turned out to be the repurposed former Air Force guest rooms at the old McClellan Air Force Base, giving the stay a fascinating layer of military history with buildings that still carry that vintage vibe. The room itself was wonderfully quiet, spotlessly clean, and genuinely comfortable exactly what you want after a long day while the on-site Officers Club restaurant and bar stood out as a highlight, offering great food, a fantastic atmosphere, and that classic club feel. Plus, if you’re into aviation, the nearby Aerospace Museum of California is an absolute must-visit, packed with super cool historic aircraft and exhibits just a short trip away, making this a peaceful, comfortable spot with unique character, excellent dining, and easy access to cool sights. Highly recommended!

Room was dirty…furniture was very worn and dirty. Coffeemaker was terrible. Staff at check in was not friendly at all or knowledgeable. Website says there’s a local gym that hotel guest can use she knew nothing about it and did not offer to find out the information for us.Carol in the restaurant bar was great! Very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Elegant in a funky, retro way with the old buildings, and modern decor. Feels dignified and historic. Tue airplane murals on the walls excited my husband, I kinda liked the retro crystal lampshades. Made for a quirky visual combo that somehow worked. Loved it there! It's an old military officer's base, pretty cool.

Everything was lovely. The front desk person could have been more helpful, but overall I enjoyed my stay.

The location is very quiet and clean. Their breakfast room was clean and you could eat on the patio, near the pool.

I love this place! So Cute! Comfortable and they have free breakfast! ✨

I stay several times but this is the first time that the bathroom smells like smoke and weed. There’s also party going on in one of the rooms. Other than that, I will still stay hoping that next time I stay, the room/bathroom will not smell like smoke and weed.

As I entered the neighborhood, I immediately recognized the street signs and thought, “This feels like a military base.” It turns out Lionsgate sits on the former McClellan Air Force Base property. The history is still beautifully present. The former Officers’ Club is now a restaurant and bar, still proudly bearing the name. As someone retired from the Coast Guard, there was something deeply comforting about staying on this property. The sense of history, service, and community was palpable in the best possible way. My room was quiet, warm, and comfortable. The rate was very reasonable, parking was free (a huge plus), and everything I needed was right there. Breakfast begins early which I truly appreciate as an early riser and it was a full, warm breakfast served with genuine hospitality. Lionsgate offers tremendous value, a unique setting rich with history, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. I will absolutely stay here again on my regular trips to and from Southern California. Highly recommend.

We checked in at 11PM and checked out at 6:30AM - so didn't really get to see much of the hotel in day light or use the facilities. But our short experience was good. The room was nice and cute, the breakfast was pretty good too. The staff seemed courteous.

This place is great it is low profile out the way got commodities that go above and beyond in my opinion and the rooms are clean nice and full of essentials microwave fridge iron big bathroom nice shower comfortable toilet all around it very well hotel
- 2/5
People sleeping above me were blasting music until 3am when I had to call front desk i had to get up at 6am and at 5 am they were scrubbing something and showering/flushing toilets literally never slept. Also smoking and it clearly says no smoking within 25 yards. in front 2 men with doors open were fixing a car and smoking I couldn't even get in my car to pack up and leave and I felt unsafe although i usually really like this hotel I think security and curfew should have been better. Cold water also didn't work at kitchen sink to fill/drink water. Breakfast was great. Again I normally like it here we use it during volleyball tournaments with our family but this was not a good visit.
- 5/5
Wonderful experience.

Breakfast was fresh, and good options

The room was clean. Service was great. The shower from above leak like I was showering in the bathroom. Offered to move our room but this was difficult as we were leaving very early and getting back late. Don’t get room 3126! The manager was to call me and never followed up with me. The breakfast was adequate.

The heater in our room was broken. The inside temp was 54 degrees. (Outside 44) When I let the staff know, they said they knew it was broken, and didn't usually book that room, but as it was a busy weekend they did! Unbelievable to put someone in a room with a broken heater! I have attempted to speak with a manager and haven't heard back!!
- 4/5
Room was nice... only wish the sleeping pillows weren't so big
- 1/5
The first picture on this site is of the hot tub. So I booked thinking we would be able to relax in the hot tub after a 16 hour drive. Well it’s closed for the season!!!!! That’s terrible!! Then we get our room and it looks like someone was murdered on the couch! A tan couch all red and disgusting. There was someone else’s black hair all in the shower. Do not recommend

I recently stayed at the Lions Gate Hotel and unfortunately this visit didn’t meet the standard I’ve come to expect. I had a late check-in, which was handled quickly, but once I got to the room I realized the heater wasn’t working. I notified the front desk, but there was very little concern or effort to help resolve the issue. My guess is that it’s a training issue rather than a lack of care, but it still impacted the stay.
- 5/5
Very comfy beds, beautiful, safe little community. The room was huge. We will absolutely stay again. 10/10
- 3/5
They put us in the West lodge which had no wifi. The front-desk seemed to know it but didn't inform us that wifi isn't available. They saw that we were checking in with a kid. They did move us into another room after 2 nights.
- 5/5
This is a hidden gem. An historic Air Force building turned into a unique and special property.
- 1/5
A truly disappointing experience. This hotel lacks essentials like an elevator and heater, and features dilapidated rooms with shutters that won't close. The poor service at the front desk was the final straw. The stark contrast between this reality and the many positive reviews is baffling, making the place feel deeply misleading.
- 5/5
Great staff beautiful rooms
- 2/5
Room was ok, bed creaked a lot just rolling over. And some very loud mechanical noise from the room above.
- 5/5
Everything was tip top. A five-star General would have been delightfully impressed by the staff and the accommodations.
- 5/5
Overall great customer service and facility.
- 2/5
My TV was broken and was never fixed. They did not have a maintenance person on a Saturday.
- 5/5
Pretty quick and efficient
- 2/5
Were not made aware of the fact that the pool is 'closed for the season'. It was not mentioned in any paperwork nor any of the booking information nor at check-in. My husband found out (AFTER being given towels FOR THE POOL at the FRONT DESK) by running into a sign on the gate to the pool! There is also a discrepancy between the information on the 'room card' regarding the free breakfast, which DOES exist but which we ALMOST missed by going OUT for breakfast because the card refers to it as a 'Continental breakfast'! Room had a musty, chlorine-y odor when we first entered, ironic being that the pool was closed!
- 5/5
Nice staff, clean and safe.
- 5/5
This place was so good
- 3/5
TVs are outdated.

The room was excellent excrpt there was no heat. I had to ask for a solution which was handled by giving me a portable heater. Which did the job The stairwells and hallways smelly very strongly of cigarette smoke. Good wifi and Plenty of hot water.very clean room. Justvery cold.
- 4/5
Parking was available.
- 5/5
Great place to stay! Room was clean and the staff was very welcoming. Breakfast buffet is really good with hot choices to begin the day. Would highly recommend!
- 1/5
this place is a 3 star at best . torn chairs mismatched furniture sink clogs up , kitchenette with no pottery or utensils . definitely overpriced . this area is for the homeless . building is unkept .

Overall, it was good

I would stay here again in the future
- 5/5
Clean, quiet and staff are friendly and attentive.
- 3/5
Sliding doors to our building did not work, had to enter through a side door after climbing the stairs. With our luggage. Carpeting in aisles looked dirty, the Iron was poor quality, the ironing board looked like a child's toy. Definitely not a three star Hotel.
- 4/5
Everything inside the room was clean, the only problem was the faucet in one of the tub/shower combinations dripped the whole time. Thermostat seemed to not stay at the requested temperature for heat/cold and ended up turning it off all together.
- 3/5
Front desk staff needs to be retrained. When I attempted to check in, I was told she had given my room key to an unidentified male.
- 3/5
Not very clean. Exterior doors did not work and Ice machine was broken.
- 5/5
Love this place.
- 5/5
Clean room, Safe area, staff very helpful, and parking was available.
- 2/5
No bathroom door. The entrance was broken, we have to walk to the side entrance. The room was dirty and the heater wasn’t working. There’s no blanket. Terrible place. No coming back!
- 2/5
The room was nice, and the hotel itself was acceptable. But the employee working the front desk on the evening we checked in was very rude, and had extremely poor communication skills. She lacked professionalism, consideration, and courtesy that someone in her position should exhibit. I was satisfied with the room, but because of my experience with her I will not be staying there again.
- 4/5
There was no bar soap, for men who don't like a liquid. There was no towel for use at the kitchen sink to help clean up. A selection of plastic glasses for drinks would also be nice. The 4 receptacle electric plug between the beds, one side did not work and should be looked at by an electrician Shower head water pressure was too strong!! Cleanliness' was not an issue, excellent overall. Cleanliness is not as issue.
- 1/5
The sheets were dirty. I told the front desk and they didn’t seem to care.
- 4/5
My stay was nice. I was there for medical treatment with a doctor close by. The hotel was close to his office. Good location. Quiet. Safe place.
- 4/5
We were staying for an early surgery. I looked at reviews of hotels that were but people kept bringing up homeless and drug deals. This is a converted officers barracks and they are very private. There wasn't fan so our dog got overheated but other than that it was perfect.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly and efficient, fun to stay where our military were housed!
- 4/5
I really enjoyed the hot tub and breakfast. Great value for price. The staff are super helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay again.
- 4/5
Woke up around 3:00 to take the dog out and there was some guy trying to break into my car and steal out of the back of my friend's truck, security was slow to address the issue. Usually it's a pretty good spot, just a lot of lowlifes in the general vicinity.
- 1/5
The biggest problem is the beds. I had checked into my room and was getting off my bed to take a shower when my foot was impaled by the sharp metal frame of the bed. The frame is hidden by the bed skirt, so it's impossible to see or even anticipate a sharp metal object is there. My foot was cut and bleeding and I immediately went to the front desk around to notify them of the issue. They offered me a band aid, but I wanted to talk to the manager. I was referred to Chris Burwell, the GM but he was never available as he was off site. I emailed him several times, but no response. I called his direct number, but it basically does not accept voicemails. So it seems that there is no way to contact him. Just horrible customer service. Also the manager of the buffet is really mean. She just has a horrible attitude to all the guests. Berating them for showing up with 5 minutes to eat. Just horrible. Needless to say this is quite alarming and dangerous, especially for my family with 2 young children staying with us in the room. Hopefully I won't get an infection from the rust.
- 4/5
Run down and needs improvements. Nice staff
- 5/5
Air conditioner was not strong. The room would get warm teally fast
- 5/5
Excellent as always for our yearly trip to the Aftershock Music Festival! The place is wonderful, with a killer breakfast and an awesome plane theme (to honor the service men and women of the past that once resided there)!
- 5/5
Rooms were nice, ours had a kitchenette which was convenient. Breakfast was a great spread of choices.
- 1/5
The room wasn’t cleaned properly .
- 4/5
No air hot in room and no full length mirrors
- 5/5
Room was very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful, did not make use of the bar, air conditioning kept the room cold but was quite loud and made a clicking noise
- 5/5
The room very nice and clean. The carpet might be old but the overall facility is good. I’d stay again in the near future.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
I loved the room and the area. My only complaint is that there were no vending machines for water that were close to the building I was staying in. When I went out to grab food, it was confusing on how to get back into the building. I didn't feel safe outside on my own.
- 1/5
- 3/5
Be mindful of a $50 charge for late checkout. I left by 1230 and checkout was 11am.
- 2/5
We did not end up staying the night. The area around the hotel felt unsafe and the hotel itself is a run-down military base. The 8.2 rating and the 10/10 reviews did not meet our expectations.
- 2/5
Rooms are musty. Bad area. No good food options nearby.
- 2/5
Dirty, staff did not respond to texts. Kids partying in room below. Car window broken out in parking lot.

- 2/5
This hotel feels very unsafe, the location and people hanging around outside didn’t make me feel comfortable, also the facets drip all night long, the furniture is half broken. Would not recommend or stay here again.
- 1/5
Checked into a room all out dated toilet wouldn’t flush, called front desk she wanted me to wait for maintenance I asked for another room and she gave me attitude. The pictures aren’t what the rooms look like
- 5/5
I will definitely be back.
- 1/5
Unsafe parking areas. The min my dad gets out of his truck there's a curb that was not marked. With unleve
- 2/5
This hotel felt a bit drab and outdated with the carpet having duct tape in some areas and cockroaches.
- 5/5
Everything was fantastic and the front desk crew were great!
- 5/5
Beautiful locations, quaint and spacious rooms for rent. Pool is a bit dinky and gets overcrowded easily. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Will happily be booking again

Great value for the room awesome breakfast better room than any other for the price for sure
- 5/5
Very beautiful rooms, love staying here.

The hotel is below average, not very well cleaned, old and in need of a refurb, but the staff are excellent They closed the restaurant without telling us due to a birthday party. Tried to get pizza delivered but no companies would deliver to the hotel. The party guests carried on partying in the car park out side our room until 2:00 in the morning playing really excessively loud music. The hotel staff did nothing to quiet them down after complaining. There are better places to stay.

Quiet, well kept hotel. Loved the decor and the history. Parking was great. Staff was friendly. And….you can never go wrong with a free breakfast before you get bank on the road.

It’s okay, very old condition
- 5/5
I didn’t like the parking. It was usually quite a walk. I did like the breakfast. It was first rate
- 2/5
Dirty and smelly
- 1/5
Property is dated and dirty. Could hear the springs in the bed. Shoddy workmanship….i.e. the plastic baseboards did not meet in the corners in the room/bathroom. Only redeemable quality is convenience of the proximity to event hall and sweet people who work there.
- 5/5
Was a great place to stay. They even gave me an upgrade & the room was awesome!! I would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay, Only downside is room smelled like smoke. Even though it was claimed to be a nonsmoking room.
- 2/5
Absolutely not satisfied
- 5/5
Kitchenette was a very nice addition, just wish the dining table was a little wider than the 12" by 6". Very quiet and convenient.
- 5/5
Friendly service. Staff at the front desk was really helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable bed. Food service was excellent. We will be back for sure. Thank you.
- 3/5
Pay more to stay in the newer updated rooms. Old rooms are clean but windows are very heavy and hard to open
- 3/5
Isn’t really family friendly
- 5/5
I have stayed alot of places in Sacramento. By far one of the coolest hidden gems.
- 3/5
Entrance doors not working properly on a few of the manors. Ac in our room didnt cool well at all. Very dated and dirty carpets in the hallways. Pile of trash and clothing outside our building on the concrete common area. Steps, landings and general area outside front of our building was very dirty.
- 5/5
Great room and amenities! Clean and friendly staff. I’m definitely coming back
- 5/5
Love this hotel. Stayed here before and will definitely be back
- 3/5
Ask you extra towels at front desk during evening check in and rather then tell me there where out i was lied to and told the floor towels are there new body towels cause they changed company's.
- 5/5
The staff was great friendly and attentive
- 5/5
Really enjoyed this, the bartender Juan was great he also served and bused the tables really hard worker. The area is nice I didn’t feel like I was going to get my car broken into either! Food was great as well there!
- 4/5
Decent, but no gym nor elevator. Be careful if you have heavy luggage.
- 5/5
My family and I really enjoyed this place. It had a small full kitchen, cute decor, comfortable beds, and a great breakfast. The whole place was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. There are lots of good restaurants nearby. It’s not the best part of town but you really can’t tell when you are at the hotel. It didn’t feel unsafe and It was quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice staff and super clean
- 3/5
No attempt to even answer a simple question
- 5/5
this property is really nice. It’s right off the Air Force Base. There is public transportation however you do have to walk a little ways to get to some stores but if you have a car, it’s definitely close to some food locations. The property was very clean and extremely quiet. The staff was really friendly. I was actually the price.

Great experience easy quick check in and friendly staff quiet peaceful location
- 5/5
This was the best staycation, I just needed a little break from life so I came here and it was everything I could of asked for and more. From the room to the dining options it was perfect. I will be doing more staycations here. For Sure

Super place very clean
- 2/5
This place is a dump. I'm shocked it has good reviews. It's like they spent a bunch of money to implement this cool theme and then let the place slowly rot. If we hadn't checked in so late, I would have left. The owners obviously don't care that the place is falling apart and no one is fixing it and when repairs are done, you can visibly see how they were fixed incorrectly. We were upgraded rooms and both rooms were like this.
- 3/5
Place in need of general upgrade. It was really clean, and housekeeping was great. Has all ammenities one would need (refer, coffee, microwave, iron and safe). Just need a general modernization to get to next level of quality.

Itwas just ok

Room is tiny, feels catastrophic

Disappointed. Called ahead to ensure the hot tub jets were working as this was the whole reason for going. When we checked in I asked again, just to verify that what I had been told on the phone was correct and was assured it was working. The hot tub jets were not working!!

I will definitely return

Room service was excellent.

Great little spot
- 3/5
On the older side. Stayed here 2 different times. Once air worked well and had good water pressure. Second time we were in a different building and the air did nit eork well and really amhad no water pressure. This hotel is also really spread out. I think they used to be Barrick apartments.
- 4/5
Positive side, the hotel has always been clean, drama free and quiet.
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay at the lionsgate Hotel. it was very nice. spacious room clean and convenient.
- 5/5
good experience
- 2/5
The room itself was decent, however I deliberately booked a place that advertised a pool and a hot tub. Both were not acceptable for my standards of being clean and the hot tub didn’t work.
- 3/5
Biggest downfall- lack of AC. There is a little, but as previous reviews have stated, it is minimal and in over 100 degree heat- it makes it a little warmer than necessary. The fun part is the hotel is on the old air force base- so you are literally staying in the barracks. I would come back- but not April through October.
- 4/5
Nice hotel. Would stay again
- 4/5
Well the property still in construction. The 2 queen size bedroom have been remodeled but the single King size bedroom still in older style. Also the keys was so easily to get messed up waited for for 25 minutes before they can deliver the new set of keys. The next happened again. Just need to walk up and down using stairs no elevator is available.
- 4/5
Overall, it was a great value for a hundred bucks. The room was very large, suite size really, and had a jacuzzi tub and mini fridge, sitting area and fireplace, large bedroom and large bathroom with shower, sink and beauty counter (thiugh chair was broken and unsafe). The only downsides to the room were the lack of a comforter and the temp control was very unstable, so it was tough to get a comfy temp. The pool area is nice, though the pool itself was a bit dirty and the hot tub was broken. The breakfast was ok but we found it odd that they only allow every person one plate instead of allowing multiple trips- it actually wastes way more food bc people will put a ton on the plate instead of trying just a bit and going back as needed. We were here on a holiday so the restaurant was closed but seemed nice enough for the venue. A local told is the bbq joint nearby (less than half a mile) is amazing but it was also closed. All in all, I would stay here again if in the area (we were visiting a friend nearby)
- 4/5
Great hotel. Unfortunately the air conditioning is not so great. The room 2as in the low 80s full time. Beds were super comfy amd the staff were super friendly.

Buffet break
- 3/5
The rooms were really spacious and it was a good setup. There’s a kitchenette but 0 cutlery or dishes or cups. It’s not very helpful tbh. But you can request plastic utensils from the front. The beds also only came with a thin blanket.
- 5/5
This place was so good
- 1/5
Ac didnt work in 100 degree weather, had a dirty smell to room, was way away from everything, had to walk 10mins for ice!
- 5/5
Everything was excellent
- 4/5
It’s clean and convenient around Sacramento.
- 5/5
Always a great place to stay
- 1/5
DO NOT STAY HERE! This AC does not work in all but the main building. Being located in the middle of Sacramento where it was 103 degrees when we checked in and no AC. Completely unacceptable!!!!
- 5/5
Only thing I didn’t like is that the doors can be accessed by anyone, which makes one question the security of the place.
- 5/5
very quiet area and clean rooms,,,,would stay again,,,excellent

I have used Lion Gate several times for proximity to events I attend. I find the place clean and safe, no frills. i had some small annoyances this visit. The remotes for TV did not work well. That is a plural because the replacement was slightly better. The hotel is in sort of a food desert. It is morr convenient to use the hotel's restaurant which is not bad. My events start early so the 630 breakfast start time is too late. I came by at 620 and the room is gated off so I could not grab something.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly. Nice property. Room were clean. Water pressure was great. Breakfast was good. Pool closed early.
- 5/5
Very nice place

Hotel is outdated

This facility is on the old McClellan AFB North of Sacramento. Quiet facility in a small community. This facility has utilized the Bachelors Officers Quarters of the base as its facility. there are many different size rooms. they have a restaurant facility on site. There is also a outdoor pool and Jacuzzi and they close at 830pm. Not at 10pm like most hotels. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. We did experience a bit of an air-conditioning issue, but the facility was able to get a fan into the room and the A/c was fixed shortly after. Overall, a nice surprise.

I live this place . One of my favorite places to stay. Is always clean and has a really homie feel. Sifferent variety of rooms and breakfast is always great.
