Reviews
Guests generally enjoy their stay at this hotel, appreciating the cleanliness, comfort, and friendly staff. However, there are recurring issues with the pool, breakfast, and room cleaning services.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Issues with pool maintenance and temperature
- Breakfast not included or not up to expectations
- 2/5
Should be better warned about the $10 a day parking charge and $17 breakfast "buffet" charge.

Convenient location. Friendly dining staff; good service.” Room was older, not updated. Bathroom smelled bad, particularly the toilet; inadequate ventilation in bathroom. King mattress sagged on one side of the bad. Some down pillows were worn and needed to be replaced. Front desk told us they would replace the pillows but that didn’t happen. Front desk: no one at front desk upon arrival; waited about 10 mins and finally walked over to the Homewood Suites side of the building for someone to check us in. The person from Hilton side of the hotel then appeared and checked us in but was curt, unfriendly. We were charged $10/ day for outdoor handicapped parking space although there was a large half empty parking lot. (this was not clear when booking the room). We were charged outrageous $125 refundable deposit for “incidentals” and told by front desk it could take 5-6 business days for the charge to be removed from our credit card.

Very clean and quiet. It’s not to specious.
- 3/5
The staff were professional but not particularly engaging or willing to go the out of their way. The hotel was spotless but could use some refreshing. What aggravated me was the parking now has a mercenary upcharge. I have stayed at the property multiple times and it has a HUGE outdoor parking lot and now they are charging for it (as of march 2026). No parking attendants, or security, just a big lot outside the hotel that can more than service the patrons. NO reason to charge.

Only 30 minutes from Dulles (IAD), lovely room with mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig, both breakfast buffet available (currently $17) and al a carte menu. Highly recommended!

Hotel needs new carpet in rooms. Paying for parking at a hotel in the suburbs is ridiculous.

We did not use the breakfast or many of the amenities, so I can’t really comment much on those. One thing to note is parking is not free, which surprised us a little, and parking spaces became limited later at night since the lot is shared with another hotel next door. Overall though, we enjoyed the stay. Nothing flashy or luxury-level, but it felt safe, comfortable, clean, and fairly priced for what you’re getting.
- 3/5
The front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Also on the plus side, the pool is larger than comparably priced hotels. But for a Hilton, overall management was not attentive. Example one. The fire alarm went off, apparently a false alarm and the third in a matter of days according to another hotel guest we talked with outside waiting to be let in again. Example two. The swimming pool area was not clean. I stepped over matted hair on the tiles, used towels were strewn about, and the hot tub was out of order. Example three. The laundry room tables needed to be wiped off and the front loading washer was out of order. A well run hotel might have one of these issues, but not three.

I travel a lot and it is the very first time I stay at a hotel with such a bad and noisy bed. I think they have a metal old base. Horrific! Will never stay there again.

24-hour hot coffee available in the lobby. We were in room 607, which shares a wall with the elevator. There’s a loud knocking sound every time the elevator gets used. Will make sure to get a room farther from elevator in the future.

Very good
- 4/5
No free parking. Overpriced food.
- 5/5
Nothing was wrong hotel staff and breakfast etc.. was up to Hilton standards. I would definitely stay again when we are back in the area.
- 3/5
Pillows basically flattened out as soon as you lay your head down and mattress was hard.
- 5/5
The staffs are very professional and friendly. The location’s very convenient closed to shopping, entertainment and restaurants w/in a walking distance.
- 2/5
The room (and whole hotel really) was so hot and smelled. We turned on the AC but it barely helped. The carpet by the ac/heater was all wet as well. The hotel is old looking. The gym was ok but also very hot. It’s my fault for choosing it but it was a last minute hotel need just for the night so I didn’t want to splurge but you get what you pay for.
- 5/5
Me gusto mucho .. incluso me ayudaron con un reembolso el segundo dia .. ya que tuve una emergencia
- 4/5
Everything is fine
- 4/5
All in all, a very satisfactory hotel. Stayed there many times and the price to value ratio is solid.
- 5/5
Spotless. Very comfy bed w down pillows.
- 4/5
Room was nice but very dark - too little light
- 3/5
The 7am fire alarm was a startling way to wake up. Our room was clean but small and AC unit was not in good condition. Registration desk staff was courteous and efficient. Breakfast area set-up was confusing with offering both a menu and buffett. Additional signage would have been helpful. It also would have been nice to have the bar open on Thursday evening as options were limited outside of the hotel.
- 4/5
Fair price, clean quiet hotel. /Staff could have been more responsive but overall nice!
- 5/5
Comfortable bed, large room, clean. Friendly staff. Restaurant had decent food.
- 4/5
Checkin was al messed up. The staff at the reception seems new. It took us 45 mins to checkin. And they forgot to mark breakfast included which was embarrassing us next morning to deal with the kitchen staff. Rooms and amenities were wonderful. Location is excellent.
- 4/5
Friendly service
- 5/5
Clean room and nice guy at check-in
- 5/5
The staffs are very helpful, friendly. It’s very nice clean place and is convenient for everything such as shopping, restaurants
- 5/5
It was an excellent hotel and it met our needs.

VERY DIVERSE OPTIONS THE STAFF WAS PROFESSIONAL
- 5/5
Room was clean. I felt safe in ghe area aroundthe hotel.
- 5/5
We arrived earlier than expected for our reservation and they were able to check us in quickly without any hassle. This allowed me to make my work appointment with plenty of time while my family was able to get some rest.
- 5/5
It’s very convenient for dining, shopping with a walking distance. And more importantly, the staffs are very professional, pleasant and very helpful.
- 5/5
Easy parking for my car and the 6x12 haul trailer that I was towing.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Very nice property.
- 3/5
No freezer, fridge was small and barely kept anything cold. Ice machine never worked on the 5th floor. Maids went past my do not disturb sign while I was working. The did change the bed qnd towels but I had all those things how I wanted them only to come back to have to do more work at the hotel to get things back how I had them. The hotel next door is much better but the price is over 400 a night to stay there. This was over 200 and couldn't have simple things like a freezer, ice and not being disturbed. The window opened which is nice. I like a hotel with available fresh air. It is very clean as well. The $17 breakfast is the same as free breakfast offered at any other hotel. Skip that for sure.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly. The hotel is close to a playground and is family-friendly. I liked that you could have a key on your phone.
- 5/5
It was fine
- 4/5
Great location at a great price.
- 5/5
Very beautiful and clean property. Spacious rooms and welcoming staff
- 4/5
The hotel was exceptionally clean and the bed was comfortable. It is nestled in a quiet area. The only change that I think they should make is to include breakfast in with that rate.
- 3/5
The hotel was nice but the pool was old and it didnt look clean
- 4/5
The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. I did not like the staff in the restaurant in the morning for breakfast. Their behaviour lacked basic courtesy.
- 4/5
It was very nice! Very friendly
- 4/5
Good place for vacation
- 2/5
Thre was a hug bed bug in the bathroom. I did not see any in our bed and we were not bitten. The carpets are dark and feel weird. I'm very surprised this is an unrenovated Hilton Grand Vacation location. It is definitly time for upgrades. The heat was not working properly either. I wont stay at this location again until some changes are made.
- 5/5
The location was good. The facility was great. the parking was very convenient.
- 4/5
Only one elevator worked. The ice machine on our floor (5) did not work. Otherwise, everything else was fine.
- 5/5
The price hiked up comparing the same time last year.

Beautiful hotel! Checked in easily on the app. Our room was very spacious. The beds were extremely comfortable. Would recommend!

We had a Celebration of Life for my best friend's mother in DC. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We drove up from Charlotte, and met at local restaurant in Rockville. I would definately stay there again if I am in the area.
- 5/5
No complaints
- 5/5
The concierg was very sweet and professional.
- 5/5
Conveniently located
- 3/5
Parking and staff (front desk/management) were actually decent. I had an issue with the hot tube blowing out debris out the pumps when I ran it. They made me heard and rectified the situation. Now the shower wasn’t as hot as it could be the water was like warm at best. The water didn’t drain as quickly so I was standing in a puddle. I couldn’t switch the tv input to use my Apple TV to stream which was annoying. I wasn’t a fan of the having to pay for the water bottle in my room. I’m spending nearly $400 on this room they can at least have a free water bottle. Check-in was supposed to be at 3 but I arrived a little after 5 and my room wasn’t ready. So we had to rush to get to our dinner reservation. Now the room was nice, the bed was comfortable, and the heating system was great. Overall I would give it a 3 out 5 and I’m being generous but the front desk and management really tried to help.
- 5/5
They need to check the bed corners are dangerous. And the check out time

Was told that there was no water AFTER checking! Looking for complete refund.
- 2/5
Hotel was fine but concierge was a little rude

- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 1/5
Staying here was a nightmare made of uncomfortable beds, dirty showers with broken glass doors and cold water only, scratchy towels, a bed cover that caused painful skin reactions, and visible dirt throughout. This is more of a road side motel than a 3 star hotel. Save your money and go literally anywhere else in the area.
- 3/5
Me and my family decided to get away for the cold weekend, pool and stay warm in the Jacuzzi but after we got there, they told us the heat and Jacuzzi is not working and they were going to fix it but nobody did. I was disappointed my kids, didn’t get to enjoy the pool and Jacuzzi. The room was ok.
- 2/5
I often stay at the Hilton Garden in on Shady Grove because I work across the street, but live quite a distance away. When bad weather or impending deadlines require me to stay overnight in Rockville, this location has always been my first choice. This time, I stayed due to a snow storm. I booked through Hotels.com for one night, but needed to extend my stay. I was told that I would have to check out in the morning, take everything with me, and check back in later in the day (assuming space was available). This was very inconvenient, especially with the snow. Nonetheless, I checked out, took my stuff with me, and checked back in later the same day. On the second night, the room was cold. I turned up the heat and the room began to warm up. About 2:00 AM, I woke up freezing. The thermostat said "71" so I bumped it up to "74". At 4:30 AM, the thermostat said "74" but was still freezing. I was told to use the thermostat on the wall instead of the window thermostat. I bumped both of them up to "77" but still woke up at 6:00 AM in a freezing room. When I checked out, I reported this to the clerk and was told that they would put in a maintenance request, but that I was probably using the wrong controls. The hotel was not as clean as usual, but given the snow storm I can understand - it was really messy outside. While I like staying as close to work as possible, when I have to, I plan to try out some of the other local hotels the next time I need to stay in town.
- 5/5
First snow day of the year and I work across the street at the hospital...I was able to get a room at the lat minute and was able to rest good and go back to work the next day safely.
- 5/5
Very satisfying when I get there!
- 5/5
I would have preferred to get a room that was on a higher floor. They started with offering one on the first floor, then when I requested they changed to 3rd floor.
- 3/5
The stay was disappointing because of the lack of hot water in bathroom, both vanity and very little in shower. I notified front desk the first night and was told that a technician would come to room and no one ever arrived. There was no follow to my complaint. Upon checking out I mentioned my disappointment.
- 4/5
A lot of noice around 6:00 in the morning
- 4/5
Breakfast buffet had basic options. Good scrambled eggs and bacon but subpar coffee. All personnel were pleasant and helpful. Would return.
- 5/5
The staff especially were nice especially the restuarant staff.
- 5/5
I have stayed here many times and the quality is consistent. Very close to dining and a park nearby for running.
- 5/5
The hotel was beautiful! Everything was nice &’clean, the day staff was very nice. The night staff with all of the tattoos was not especially friendly. The older lady was though, she definitely made up for everything. The only thing disappointing was the breakfast was not included. It was good though. Also kind of annoying the pool staff seemed to wait until a busy period everyday to put chemicals in the pool, I was wondering why they couldn’t do it after the pool closed. Anyway, the cleaning staff was wonderful, very nice staff all around. Loved the hotel.
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and location. Easy drive to any where you want to go. Quiet rooms and friendly and helpful staff. Will stay again when in i travel there again
- 5/5
Everything was great except for when I caught Expedia in a lie. When I booked my room they said they only had one or two rooms left. Well I’m here and half of the hotel is empty. Plus Expedia over charged me for one night $400 to stay at a Hilton garden inn. Expedia needs to make this right and make me one heck of a compensation or I’m going to delete my account and book through one of your competitors. Look at my travel history with Expedia. Do you want to lose me as a customer?
- 5/5
Everything was great. Hot tub wasn’t working properly, but it wasn’t a deal breaker.
- 5/5
Clean, well run
- 5/5
As always with a Hilton stay, a relaxed, clean and friendly place to stay when away from home
- 3/5
Check in experience was terrible initially got the room on 2nd floor next to elevator once reached 2nd floor entire floor was smelling weeds when got back to front desk been told that’s all I can give you like we were not customer he was giving us favor to give room when I asked for manager he said no manager on property. He changed the room after I got upset that I am a customer and paid for the room not asking favors
- 1/5
I requested a quiet room, and they put me in one facing the noisy HVAC outside and right next to the ice maker. No towels and no soap. Room wasn't clean. I tried twice to address the issues and staff did nothing to resolve it and didn't seem to care. When I asked to talk to a manager I was told no manager available.
- 5/5
Great location, very clean, good breakfast and bar. Close to shopping and lots of great restaurants. Easy self-parking on site.
- 5/5
Hotel is very tidy and staff were amazing! Katie at the bar was great!
- 3/5
We used our points to get a room and we expected something better. When we entered the room the bathroom smelled strongly as if someone had recently defecated, which is how we realized that the exhaust vent was not functioning. The room looked out at the HVAC units, so there was no view at all. Apparently this is the room that gets assigned to travelers who get the room for points instead of paying. We reported the vent issue. Since it was late and we were tired and unpacked, we did not ask for a room change although the front desk offered. The next morning, I discovered that the body wash dispenser in the shower was empty. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the pool/workout facility was nice.
- 5/5
Bed was extremely comfortable.
- 1/5
Started my morning with a cold shower to which the front desk said " yeah i heard others say that, have a good day"
- 3/5
We appreciated the big desk, and we used it a lot. Coffee maker *keurig was good too, and they refilled our Kcups and coffee accoutrements when it was out. Two of our key cards were always not working. I had to stop by the desk 4 times to get it resynced, in the end it just won't work, so I gave up. It was funny that the hotel that shared the entrance had free breakfast and the Hilton Garden Inn, didn't. It did have the free coffee in the morning where the fruit infused water was in the afternoon. So we didn't get breakfast there, although plenty of other people did. Parking always looked full but we've always found a good spot not too far from the entrance. We have made good use of their bag trolley for bringing in our luggage and cases of bottled water. It was hard to steer, but we needed it. Overall good for what I paid, next time we are in the area, we might book next door to see if the rooms are the same plus get the free breakfast.
- 5/5
Great hotel. Stayed many times
- 5/5
This hotel felt more luxurious than the average Hampton Inn. The staff was kind and busy and the kids had a great time in the pool. The room was comfortable and we slept well.
- 1/5
Everything was dirty. Hallways smells. No toilet paper in bathroom. Noisy. Dirty
- 5/5
Considering I had trouble finding a nice hotel with a soaking tub for a bday present this was absolute perfection. Clean, quiet, large open space, amazing jacuzzi tub. Will be back.
- 5/5
The stay was very nice. Very well appointed room. Very clean. Bathroom had a great shower.Plenty of hot water.
- 3/5
The gym was okay except the one mat they have is ripped, thin and disgusting. They also have no matching dumbbells bellow 15 pounds. The front desk was pretty cold and rude, and the restaurant was closed due to a pipe bursting. Of course, those things happen, but guests should have been offered either a discount. The reason I poked that place was because it has a restaurant.
- 2/5
Slammed my knee 4 times on the bed frame and so did my wife and niece. 6 hrs later can barely walk! These bed frames need to be removed asap!

We waited for all the kids to leave to enjoy it then get told to leave this place is a joke
- 2/5
Water lukewarm at best, no one every cleaned my room, stain in the toilet, mold on the shower. Rooms need to b updated.
- 4/5
The hotel also had a huge conference going on so at night the lobby was full of finance bros drinking and being obnoxious. Not their fault on that one, just made it less enjoyable
- 5/5
My parents enjoyed the hotel during their three day stay during the Christmas holiday.
- 3/5
The overall facilities were fine. Unfortunately the elevators were all broken, which I find hard to believe but they had a large group of kids staying there so more than one elevator was out of service, and I had to drag my three bags up for flights of stairs. it’s not a big deal, but when I called downstairs to ask for an additional blanket, they wanted me to come back down and get it myself, thank you anyway for your service
- 2/5
Both elevators were out of operation.
- 3/5
The elevator was not working all weekend and had to take flights of steps. Key stop working twice.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay at this Hilton while I was visiting a friend who was unexpectedly in the hospital. It's a nice 10 minute walk to the hospital as well as many shops and restaurants, so I didn't have to drive anywhere. Breakfast was great but wish it was included. Staff was wonderful, and DJ really helped me out when I asked. Would recommend to anyone.
