    This hotel is full of contradictions. It is an older building that has been remodeled in the last several years. The good: plenty of hot water in the shower, good quality television, and a comfortable bed. I did not use the swimming pool but it was open and looked nice. Air conditioning was efficient and quiet. However, the breakfast is overpriced and under delivers. Additionally the appearance, even though it's been renovated is a story of contrasts. Most of the renovated areas are monochrome gray in color. Not particularly warm and comforting. The carpeting appears to have been laid without any backing over the concrete superstructure. Also signs of wear and tear around elevator shafts. But all in all if you can get a decent rate it's a reliable place to stay.

    The staff member James was very professional and helpful. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. The room was clean and up to date. So many choices of snacks and restaurants around and one inside the hotel. I will always come here for a nice relaxing stay.

    Just drive through for one night. I will say pretty photos on their site, our shower tub sprout is detached so shower water coming from the shower head and tub sprout. Charge stations no power, vent covered with dust. Hallway looks creepy cool white lights. Bedding is ok… may that’s the price got we get them.

    My husband recently stayed here. He had a coughing fit due to something with the pillow, and needed to go down to the front desk to ask for a change, he did not get the warmest reception for this request. Also, he said there was a lot of road noise, due partly to the fact that the window did not close all the way. He tried to speak to a manager but was told they were unavailable. Overall though he was happy with the location. Booking through Expedia saved us a ton a money- the rate here was I think $149, though when he just walked in it was $220 and they wouldn't budge. So we booked through here. Also, he was overcharged the pet fee- the Expedia listing says $30, he was charged $40, we will be disputing that.

    The facility itself was clean, the fitness room was a little smaller than expected for the hotel but was still workable for routine workouts. We didn’t have any conditioner in the room when we arrived. The pool was dirty and not usable.

    I had the insurance and could easily refund one night since my trip was cut short by one day. And the staff immediately took care of it and with good manners. The rooms have coffee maker, coffee, ice bin, hot and cold cups, ironing board and an iron, hanging rack and plenty of hangers, my room did not have a closet, it had small refrigerator (not very cold) but my food didn’t go bad overnight; microwave (I didn’t use). The shower gel is very small so bring your own soap or maybe get more at the desk. There was a blow dryer however I didn’t use it to know if it was working or not.view isn’t that great, so don’t keep your hopes up. The top corner of the curtain in my room was ripped which made it look unpleasant . The hotel itself, could use some update and fresh paint on the walls would be great. However, there was nice artwork on the walls yet the overall look was old and something was missing. There was complementary coffee in the lobby which was a plus. Overall, I would’ve enjoyed it more if it looked more updated but it was fine for my needs because I just had to take care of work agenda. I would go back if the atmosphere is better and the lobby looks better. Overall, their room was fine. Please give my thanks to the staff.

    The bathroom wall had damage from a past issue. The repair required drywall patching, which only had the first coat of drywall mud on it. It looked terrible and I could not believe that they would re-install the towel rack over it and consider it rentable. They did offer another room but it should have never gotten to that. No ice maker worked and you had to get ice from the restaurant.

    We were pleased with the room, ambience, and the fact that we could book without a premium for refundability, and park without an extra daily charge. It was convenient to 270, and this made visiting family in Bethesda was very easy. I did miss being able to stream my Netflix account through the television, and the restaurant was limited in choices for vegetarians. But I would definitely recommend it to others.

    Then when I left and came back my key no longer worked. Went to settle in for the night and I have no remote for the tv. When I went back down for the second time, the gentleman working the desk representing the business is wearing sweatpants and a matching sweatshirt and had his child running around in the lobby while he was working. He opened the drawer and gave me a random TV remote without even speaking a word to me. When I turned on the TV, there was no TV reception and no channels worked. Went to bed, angry and frustrated with my experience so far just to be woken up at five in the morning because someone left the alarm clock in the room set to 5 AM. The room adjacent to me also had the alarm clock set to 5 AM but no one was in their room so I couldn’t go back to bed because all I could hear. Was that alarm clock through the wall for the next three hours. As a whole, this was a horrible experience and I wish management would be spoken to about the behavior and I feel I should be refunded for my entire experience

    I normally love this hotel but this time I stayed for my birthday and my boyfriend went to get a towel and there was a used old bandaid wrap in the towel. We told the front desk and they just gave us a new towel and refunded the money for our stay. Appreciated but still the cleaning staff needs to do better.

    Check-in was easy enough we got to our room had to wait for maintenance smoke detector battery was dead... Did not pay extra for the Best Western breakfast so could not give you an honest review on the breakfast but anyhow in our room I have pictures and will upload shortly the carpet was coming up at the seem to the tile floor and the tack strip was showing perfect for kicking your shoes off and relaxing just to step on and as well there was a blue pill turned out to be an Aleve but plain to see in the carpet edge if was cleaned by housekeeping why was it left would not recommend if you're looking for peace of mind and comfort as well would not recommend if you have children

    First day arriving, the hotel did not have functioning hot water (no mention of this at check-in). Upon asking, the worker at the desk said they someone was “working on the pipes”. No mention of when it might be fixed. Later that night an actual living mouse crawled out from under the bed! I got a new room, but 100% this is a health code violation. Told the desk and they said “oh, there used to be a mouse problem…” apparently ONGOING. On the second day, the lobby heat stopped working (rooms heat still fun toned). Recommend find somewhere else!!

    Rosa, the front desk assistant and housekeeper Justin from Mexico went out of thee way to make this 76 year old handicapped man had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. They are gems who should get raises immediately. Housekeepers were excellent and pleasant. A small Ritz Carlton experience without the cost.     Room was nice but they require an extra 100$ deposit once you arrive that they claim to return. Absolutely nothing was damaged in my room but it’s been weeks without a return to my debit card. My bank has seen no signs of it. It ate up a good chunk of my budget for the trip and then they kept it. I’ve written them three times with no response. First time was weeks ago. Will be going elsewhere but stopping buy to talk to management next month when i travel there again. Their greed for an extra 100$ will cost them another 300$ stay

    After seeing us go out side to smoke often, they charged us a smoking fee for the room when we DID NOT SMOKE IN THE ROOM! When we called to question them about it we were hung up on rudely! The outside of the hotel was infested by bugs that made their way inside the hotel. The rug in our room had what seemed to be paint on it. I personally had to scrape stains off of the nightstand. Most of the staff did not even speak English. We will never be staying there again and neither will anyone we know. All in all a horrible experience!

    I was booked for 4 nights. I left after 1. I arrived at midnight from the airport very tired. The desk clerk was joking with a bunch of teenagers who kept interrupting. The room was dirty especially the bathroom. Really disgusting. It was now too late to leave. In the morning I wanted to bathe. In the tub the water control was pulled completely out of the wall! I tried to use it andI did not notice that the shower head was faced into the room rather than down to the tub. As a consequence when I turned on the water it sprayed all over my clothes. I called the front desk to asked to be moved and the desk clerk simply said “No” and hung up. When I went to leave I noticed there were a whole lot of very dodgy people hanging out with the same desk clerk. Really a bad experience. Clean up this place or get out of the hospitality business!!

    Linen had weird stains, the floor didn’t look vacuumed well and an unidentifiable spot on the shower curtain. The knob to pull to turn the shower on was very hard to pull up and leaked out of the faucet. Only one elevator was working. No vending machine on the floors. Front desk staff pleasant. Nice location to many restaurants.

    My stay was very difficult. The first night of a 3 night stay there was a power outage. I had just gotten off the elevator when the power went out. A very close call. Outage lasted 2 hours and 40 minutes. Second night the cable tv went out. Third night, again the cable TV went out and I also had a visitor. A very small mouse. Although the staff was excellent, I can't recommend this place.

    Room windows were left open when we checked in. The wall mounted makeup mirror was broken. Mini fridge was hard to open. Huge bug was on the wall at night. Sound insulation was non-existent as we could hear other guests throughout the night and the morning.

    Coffee machine was disgusting, looked like never was cleaned (I took pic but unfortunately can't post). Receptionist not friendly, kind of racists, she will smile with some guests but not others, she didn't even ask if I have a rewards membership.     Typically, the Best Western is priced similarly to these 3 hotels. Sometimes it's more, and sometimes it's cheaper. Of the three hotels on Shady Grove Road, the Best Western and Comfort Inn are priced similar. The Best Western is much cleaner and newer. The rooms at Comfort Inn are also smaller. The.Comfort Inn has slow internet. The Best Western Internet averages over 100 Mbps; at the Comfort Inn, you're lucky to get 10. The air conditioning and heat are very consistent and modern. The Comfort Inn might offer a free breakfast, but the eggs and everything else are processed. The Best Western's $14 breakfast features fresh eggs and pancakes, plus plenty of sides, and it’s all you can eat. I had about three plates of eggs! The pancakes are freshly baked and not processed. The Best Western is the best pick if you are searching. The rooms are much nicer. It’s worthy of a 3.5 star hotel. The Sleep Inn is owned by the same company as Comfort inn. Both the Sleep Inn and Comfort Inn have rodents problems. The Ramada is worthy of 3.5. It is rather old.

    I booked the handicap accessible room, which is basically a joke. There are grab bars on the wall inside the tub, and a grab bar next to the toilet which was good but that's about it. The entry into the room barely accommodated my walker and would be a joke for a wheelchair user. Online the room appeared to have a roll-in/walk in shower which would have been good but I found out too late that those showers are only in rooms with a kings size bed. WHY? I was traveling with a friend and took the room with two queen beds. Beware when booking if you are handicapped. Also the ice machine was out of order. Fortunately my able-bodied companion was able to go up and down the elevator to find the floor with a working ice machine.

    The only problem was there was no one at the front desk at check in. Myself and someone else were waiting for a while for someone to show up. This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel this year and the check-in process is very slow. The last time I was here there were a bunch of people sitting in the lounge waiting to check in at 3:00 p.m. because rooms were not available. This time there was no one at the desk. Otherwise the room and the stay was very good.

    Breakfast was okay and was just fine for what we needed although I dont believe it is worth the price we paid to add on breakfast to our stay. Throughout the stay the elevators were malfunctioning. Several other guests mentioned the scary elevator issues and at one point someone at the front desk said they were going through maintenance. I checked and the certification posted inside the elevator expired in November 2024!! Biggest issue was the last night we found multiple mice in our room. There was a hole on the floor into the headboard that they were running in and out of. The staff member did offer to change our room that night and refund that night stay. But also mentioned that they recently had to have an exterminator come out for mice and they thought it was fixed. So this is an ongoing issue! I don't fault the staff as they were kind throughout but I would not recommend and would not be back.

    The hotel was very clean and staff were okay. My neighbors were horrendously loud the night I arrived and would not quiet down. I called the front desk to please ask them to be quiet and was told they'd tell them. I heard their phone ring, but they were being so loud that none of them could hear it. I was hoping that a staff member would come knock on their door instead and ask them that way, but nope. I drove 6 hours and couldn't go to bed until 1am thanks to the group of screaming teenagers blaring music right next to me for over 4 hours. And yes they were actually screaming/yelling; about a spider and just cussing each other out for no reason. The next day a couple checked into that same room and I could hear everything again, at least they were quiet at night. The hotel itself is good; clean, nice location, etc. But the walls are so thin, a good night's sleep the first night was impossible.

    Our family reunion was ruined by this hotel. The entire place smelled awful—like old, sweaty shoes—and the rooms were no better. The elevator was broken, the air conditioning stopped working in our room, and instead of moving us, they gave us a fan. The bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut—we had to use a trash can to keep it closed. The breakfast was way overpriced for the poor quality. Multiple people in our group had similar complaints. Absolutely not worth the money.

    Our only two complaints were that the pool wasn’t up for summer… They said it’s not ready yet while this summer is kind of halfway over. And the implication of free breakfast was kind of complicated and not 100% accurate… Once my kids and I sat down for breakfast we were told we were supposed to order ahead of time. I’ve never had that experience before, but it was OK because there was amazing bagel places not too far away.

    Upon arrival the staff was very nice and pleasant. The only disappointment part was the swimming pool was closed down all week, they said, do the kids were disappointed there. Then, upon going to put ice into the ice bucket from our room. The kids noticed that the bucket hadn’t been cleaned well. It had hair and sauce stains inside the bucket and on the top of the lid, which was very disgusting to see.

    We chose this property because of the pool and the pool was closed. We didn’t have any towels! Was give one wash cloth and two pillows for four people. The room phone also did not work.     The property was close to the event we were attending and that was about the only thing it had going for it. We had a room that had a bathroom for a handicap person so when we showered, water went all over the bathroom in a flood. We also had two bugs crawl under our door from the hallway which was no ideal. Plus, the pool was not even uncovered which was one reason we decided to stay at this specific hotel.

    The hotel was nice, the beds were comfortable and it was in a good location for our needs. It was close to restaurants and the freeway. The cons were the water pressure and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was worthless. You have to open the bathroom door as soon as you are done with your shower.

    We had a wonderful stay at the Best Western Premier Hotel. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the staff at the front desk were extremely welcoming and helpful.     Remembering the good experience I had, I rebooked this hotel and was surprised to see that it had undergone a good remodel. The hotel looked very nice and the staff was very friendly. The hotel was also surrounded by a series of restaurants that were literally across the street that you could walk to. My only complaints include the fact that the hotel did not offer a shuttle service to the Metro station like it used to, the dining room was turned into a restaurant/bar which took away the complimentary breakfast you got in the morning, and the pillows were rather flat and should definitely be upgraded for what you are being charged to stay there. Aside from those small things, the overall experience was great.

    We did have an issue with our room on 7th floor. Very loud humming in the bathroom (73 decibels!). Front desk moved to us to 6th floor. They did it happily and efficiently. The two young men that worked the later shift at the front desk were amazing! Definitely would stay there again!
