Reviews
Guests generally appreciate the historic charm and decor of the property, as well as the comfortable beds and helpful staff. However, there are frequent complaints about issues with water temperature and pressure, as well as noise from heating systems or other guests. Some guests also mention that the rooms could use updating and that the price is a bit high.

Otherwise, the location was great (3 blocks from Eastman School of Music), nice breakfast with extended hours, and a very friendly and helpful staff.
- 4/5
I stayed in a luxury room with a jetted tub. Was fabulous.... robes are exquisite. Staff is lovely. Can't wait to stay again!
- 0.5/5
Close to our planned sites to see Absolutely NO safe parking. Our car was stolen from the disabled spot right next to the door. My wheelchair was in there! We lost many clothes and other items of worth. All of these things weren't in sight. Car was locked. There was no guard on duty. We're here from Ohio on vacation, filling out police reports. THERE WAS NO OFFER TO COMP THE ROOM OR ANY OTHER GESTURE OF REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE HOTEL!
- 4/5
Really interesting decor in central city location. Loved having a bath. Breakfast not very good but standard fare when continental breakfast offered. Enjoyed the stay. Hotel obviously cares
- 4/5
Beautiful historic hotel with clean rooms. Easy to get to and park. Breakfast was very minimal.
- 4/5
The property was cute. It was clean. The breakfast was disappointing.
- 5/5
Thank you so much to all staff members, attentive and helpful , for such a wonderful experience in your hotel !. Vanni’s Jazz Lounge ,cosy, amazing vibes , the cocktails were delicious , high quality!
- 5/5
Also, as a perk, check out the jazz club in the basement. We saw my son and other local musicians gig there and it is worth the visit.
- 5/5
Convenient location, clean room, very cool jazz bar in basement, loved this place and would certainly be back!
- 2/5
Unfortunately we were unimpressed with the property and our stay. The room was very "average" overall. The television was very small maybe 30" (but we recognize people don't go to hotels to watch TV). There was a kitchenette area with a sink, microwave, and small refrigerator...but absolutely nothing else. No plates, no silverware, no paper towels, no glassware, absolutely nothing. Makes it rather useless. There was a "breakfast " that we were told at check-in was served starting at 7 am. There was no "serve" about it. Some bagels, dry cereal, and a couple of muffins. No juice, no yogurt, nothing warm at all. And certainly no service, just plastic utensils. In fact, there were not even napkins, we had to find them in a cabinet. Even the trash can was so full we had to push the existing trash down to fit our little plastic plates in. As long as I'm being overly critical, the luggage cart was broken and could barely fit in the elevator. Overall, we were very disappointed and would not stay there again (note that almost every review we write is glowingly positive, just not this one).
- 4/5
This is a nice hotel but it’s not great- breakfast is sad. Basically a grab and go situation. No hot foods. No decaf coffee, no plain creamers. The room is comfortable but no hair dryer. I called for one and housekeeping never brought one. There were loud car noises at night. Parking is convenient.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 4/5
Comfortable stay, breakfast was a bit lacking, quite loud squeaking noise when the shower was running. Otherwise clean, quiet, and affordable stay.
- 5/5
I loved staying in this historic beauty with a speakeasy jazz club beneath it. I enjoy vintage style and this place was simply a delight and adjacent to the Eastman Museum! Great little boutique find!
- 5/5
Perfect location, huge parking lot, very helpful stuff, great service, unique bar.
- 5/5
Staff, clean room, easy parking, great location
- 3.5/5
The location is great for downtown activities. Speakeasy is very cool! Staff very friendly and helpful! The bathroom sink was very tiny and there was a strange mirror in the corner that made you look distorted. Otherwise, the room was very nice.
- 5/5
Hotel stay was great! Beautiful inside, No complaints. Would definitely stay there again
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, loved the decor. They had a nice continental breakfast. Clean rooms, ample free parking. Would highly recommend!
- 5/5
Everything was great. Historical but in great condition. Would have like a bigger selection for breakfast than just bagels.
- 5/5
We have a lovely stay in a beautiful room. The hotel is a hidden gem in the heart of Rochester, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in the downtown area! Will return!
- 1/5
Tired Hotel….needs a complete refresh
- 4/5
The staff seemed friendly. It’s an older building. It’s showing its age and lack of a refresh, but generally very clean and quaint/cute. Decently well located and walking distance of a great small theater and a couple of really good coffee, shops and restaurants.
- 3.5/5
Breakfast Comfy bed Rough, hard towels Dirty windows-could not see out #304
- 5/5
It was the oversized tub for me and the fireplace!
- 5/5
This was such a fun place to stay! It has a great night life and such a cute aesthetic. We really enjoyed visiting the jazz lounge and our room was perfect.
- 5/5
Amazing!!!! My husband and I had our microwedding at the Inn on Broadway and they exceeded our expectations. Mary and her team were responsive, professional and kind. The building is breath taking, as they have preserved and maintained over 200 years of historical old money charm. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a feast of numerous dishes and all of them were superb. We had 3 rooms all of which were unique in design and beautiful. I highly recommend booking an event here. It is truly a one of kind location with great staff and service.
- 5/5
Historic hotel with both great bar/restaurant and walking distance to everything else.
- 4/5
unique and interesting hotel. There was no coffee maker in either of the two rooms I booked, nor was there a "spa robe", both of which were advertized. But the hotel itself was comfortable and really interesting. We enjoyed our stay!!
- 5/5
Lovely Inn, just a few blocks from the Kodak theater. The restaurant was exceptional for dinner. Nothing
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great stay, couldnt be better inside. Parking could use a little work, but I guess that's what comes with a quality/popular place!
- 5/5
My room was so lovely, with a comfortable bed, a nice view of the city, very clean, and quiet. It's a great location for exploring the city - walkable to good restaurants (I loved La Bola), the GeVa Theater, Planetarium, and many good coffee shops (Albunn was fantastic). This hotel just has so much more character than a chain. Highly recommend!
- 5/5
We had a wonderful staff! The property was in a wonderful location and the staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was incredible.
- 5/5
staff ambiance beauty quiet amenities... LOVED EVERYTHING
- 5/5
The staff was excellent...very prompt response to my needs.
- 5/5
A wonderful hotel with a great bar and friendly staff. Also great furniture and decor. Would recommend it to others.
- 4/5
The hotel was clean and staff was very welcoming and friendly! I did not like that the walls were very thin and I could hear the neighboring guests having conversations. I was also concerned about multiple reports on their Google page of cars being stolen from the parking lot by kids in the area. There’s no gate or anyone surveilling the lot so it’s quite easy for anyone to just walk in. It is well lit and there are security cameras recording but I do wish there were more preventative measures in place.
- 5/5
It is a lovely, friendly well maintained Inn for when you are visiting Rochester -- with good prices,
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Great place close to everything and absolutely beautiful
- 5/5
Comfortable stay, welcoming staff and great decor. Appreciated the morning breakfast, and especially that we were able to borrow umbrellas when it started to pour! Came from Toronto for a night stay to see a show at the Blue Cross Arena and will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Clean and friendly
- 5/5
We didnt get breakfast The mattress was a little stiff but thats really my only issue i had :)
- 5/5
Room was super cute, bed was comfortable and shower was amazing!
- 5/5
I love this hotel and stay there whenever I visit my son at Eastman School of Music. Classic place with a jazz bar in the basement and helpful staff.
- 5/5
Room and staff amazing
- 5/5
Everything~
- 5/5
Beautiful building and very friendly staff!
- 5/5
I loved the luxury rooms and the bathtub was amazing! Just was very comfortable and loved the decor I didn't like that they room didn't have a fridge but we made do with our drinks .
- 5/5
Great will be back several more times
- 4/5
Great staff and room The only complain was a thin wall- we heard next door people talking loud who continued u til midnight
- 4/5
We enjoyed our room as of the second night when a kind staff member lit the fireplace for us.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and we even got a special tour of this historic building. The dinner at the restaurant was fantastic.
- 5/5
My second stay at this hotel, and I enjoyed it greatly. Good value, charming atmosphere, wonderful restaurant, and very friendly staff. I love how spacious the rooms are!
- 5/5
Lovely stay in a beautiful clean hotel. Continental breakfast was great and staff were super friendly!
- 5/5
Great staff. Nice room. Convenient
- 2.5/5
It was a smaller hotel When I left for a few hours and got back there was absolutely no parking so I had to make a spot with my toddler on the car. The room was small and the bed was extremely uncomfortable no ice machine in our floor or no fridge in the room for my daughters milk
- 5/5
Clean quiet room. Great staff.
- 5/5
Gorgeous hotel, fantastic staff.
- 3.5/5
Good location, well kept building, updated bathroom, cleanly. Thin walls- could hear adjoining rooms and hallway activity. Furniture in room was worn, carpet needed replacing.
- 5/5
This place was a great experience!! Very clean, cozy room, pleasant staff, quiet and extremely comfortable! I highly recommend staying here!
- 5/5
Cozy & historic vibe
- 5/5
Super cute hotel, love the history. Room is great and the fireplace is wonderful.
- 5/5
Old time elegance
- 5/5
Actually, due to the snowstorm in Rochester we’re staying one more night (at least). We’ve stayed here several times before and obviously love the place!
- 4.5/5
Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Room was comfortably decorated and warm and cozy on a very cold day. Room was spacious and well appointed. Shower was tiled, wonderfully hot, and the temperature was steady. Though some have not, I found the self-serve breakfast to be pretty good. Be sure to see what is in the minifridge! Some tasty microwavable quiche slices that I almost missed were in there during my stay. The fan on the heating system was very loud and cycled on and off at incessantly. Perhaps it is a quirk of an older building. I circumvented the noise overnight by turning the thermostat down a few degrees. The room temperature dropped a bit over night, but was very comfortable for sleeping and noise free all night long. The room warmed up quickly upon resetting the set point in the morning.
- 5/5
Hidden gem in Rochester. We had a great stay. Beds were super comfortable, room was spacious and much more interesting than your typical hotel (especially at this moderate price range). There is a very cozy, cool speakeasy / jazz club in the basement. I will definitely be back here if I need a place in Rochester again.
- 5/5
Beautiful building, nice rooms, and fun jazz lounge on the weekends. The location was great and we loved being able to walk to so much.
- 5/5
As expected,! Royal service.
- 4.5/5
This was not a cookie-cutter, chain hotel. It was unique, with cozy alcoves with sofas and books, and there was even a Speakeasy in the basement with live Jazz. Every room was different, from the floorplan to the furniture and artwork. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Will definately return.
- 5/5
The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I will be back for sure
- 5/5
We loved it here. Staff was nice, and the night life was fun
- 4/5
Great location, nice historic place to stay
- 4.5/5
Comfortable and friendly
- 2.5/5
Staff. Restaurant.
- 4.5/5
lighting so I could read in bed. But when I complained, a lamp was provided. Also valet service for luggage would have been nice.
- 4.5/5
Excellent location to Blue Cross Arena.
- 4/5
Room was great. Parking was not so good on Friday night due the multiple clubs patrons.
- 5/5
This is such a gem. It was my third time staying at The Inn on Broadway, and I will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Wonderful elegant place
- 5/5
Great stay and beautiful historic property.
- 4/5
Room was very clean but somewhat worn. Ceiling fan was noisy and there was one recessed light that looked like it was falling out. Not a big fan of the shower and tub being out in the open. Luckily, I was there with my husband. But some things should remain private. Never did figure out what one of the light switches was for, would have preferred more lamps in the room as I’m not a huge fan of overhead lighting—sensory issue. Loved the fireplace though. Had dinner at the steakhouse which was great, Beverages at the bar which were also great. Bartenders were extremely busy and handled it well. Did not know about the breakfast as we were basically handed our key at check-in and that was it. Also, no directory in room about the property—only a channel guide. Map on door stated there was vending down the hall from us—there wasn’t. Had to go on a mission, that’s why more communication at check-in would have been helpful. I would probably stay here again because of it’s location, but I would definitely request a room with more privacy, as I am considering a visit with my daughter and her toddler to the children’s museum. He doesn’t need to see me in the shower. I don’t want to scar him for life. ;)
- 4.5/5
Rooms spacious and general facilities very unique. Breakfast was pretty good. Restaurants and jazz bar excellent. Quiet!! would have liked coffee maker in room. Would also have liked more coffee choices at breakfast. Neighborhood not great.
- 5/5
Great staff, especially in the restaurant. Food was amazing and love the style of the entire hotel.
- 5/5
The breakfast bar was wonderful!
- 5/5
Very cute hotel! Clean room, excellent valet and front desk service, nice in-hotel restaurant.
- 3.5/5
My girlfriend parked in the park lot attached and got her car broken into within 30 minutes of her arrival. The staff was very sorry and helpful..
- 5/5
Very courteous staff. Room was very clean, tidy. Quiet. Very nice older building.
- 5/5
Spacious room, had a mini kitchen area, fireplace
- 3/5
No refrigerator No microwave
- 3/5
Room is fine. The only issue is the hot air comes from one side of the room, while cold air comes from the window on the other side. Room temperature is uneven.
- 5/5
The room was clean, staff were nice and attentive. The way the place was decorated was beautiful. I would definitely book this place again.
- 3/5
We stayed in the deluxe room for two nights. The room was clean and the hotel is in good location. However, breakfast was very limited and there was no coffee machine nor fridge in the room. The Air-condition (heater) was very noisy. We requested to upgrade to a luxury room by paying the difference but was rejected due to their system limitations, even though most of the rooms were empty.
- 5/5
Breakfast poor choice
- 5/5
Absolutely loved this place. Very accommodating super communicating a beautiful hotel and the room was gorgeous 😍
- 5/5
Friendly staff, room ready when we arrived, nice spacious room, enjoyed the fireplace, big tub, and large soft bed.
- 5/5
Great room. Great location. Great staff.
- 5/5
The Inn is the perfect place to stay in Rochester, from when you check in until you check out.
- 5/5
All staff were pleasant and helpful. Shout out to the bartender in the upstairs lounge. Being able to grab a coffee and quick breakfast was appreciated. We will be back!
- 5/5
The staff was fantastic, and I loved my room.
- 5/5
Beautiful clean room. Staff was excellent
- 5/5
Lovely, vintage hotel great staff very courteous and helpful
- 5/5
Lovely old world charm
- 4/5
Room was nice but the pictures of the room showed a fireplace and we didn't have one which was one of the reason we booked the room. Also the TV didn't work and I found the cable pulled out of the back of the TV
- 5/5
Clean & comfortable room, with both a wonderful shower and a big soaking tub. Staff was friendly and efficient, everyone we encountered was helpful and focused on giving good service. The bed was clean and fresh, and very comfortable. We would recommend the Inn on Broadway for anyone who wants an affordable but upscale experience in downtown Rochester.
- 5/5
Parking was easy
- 5/5
Wonderful stay, staff was awesome, hotel was beautiful
- 5/5
The Inn was beautifully decorated for our holiday visit. Everything was clean and well maintained. Our beds were very comfortable. The front desk clerk went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable and we were happy. We highly recommend the Inn for a lovely stay walking distance from Blue Cross Arena.
- 5/5
Clean room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Fantastic!
- 5/5
Excellent for the price we paid, although we needed to request soap for the bathroom. Maybe room prep service was incomplete.
- 4/5
Our stay was good. Definitely will come back on our next trip to Rochester
- 5/5
Beautiful place we love it 😍
- 5/5
Room and space was magical!
- 5/5
Everything was great. Excellent coffee.
- 5/5
clean room, nice friendly staff. very firm memory foam bed. restaurant had epic food- top 50 in the world at one point. Mixologist is from Michelin Per Se in NYC so drinks were delicious. Didn't go to the jazz bar downstairs but will hopefully return and will do that. Complimentary bagels and coffee for breakfast.
- 5/5
The space was pleasantly unique.
- 5/5
Wonderful experience!
- 5/5
We stay at a lot of different hotels, and usually an older hotel can be rough around the edges. The inn on Broadway was pristine. We really enjoyed every part of our stay.
- 4/5
The stay was great! They allowed us to check in a bit earlier so we could get ready for a local event. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The room was cozy and clean. Breakfast options were good. They had bagels and cereal but also options to heat like mini pancakes and egg bites.
- 5/5
Everything and everyone was really nice. Place is clean and the restaurant was amazing.
- 5/5
Love the old charm of this hotel with a modern bathroom. Door needs more than just a push button lock, and a tea/coffee pot in the room would be nice when getting ready in the morning. The large parking lot is very convenient and appreciated. Haven’t taken advantage of the $25 food/beverage credit yet on either our stays here so far.
- 4/5
The staff was really lovely and the room was spotlessly clean. The ballrooms are beautiful. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the room could definitely use some updating. It was definitely worn. But I appreciate the spotlessness very much. The elevator was being replaced during my stay and I was glad to have to use the stairs because I got to see the gorgeous ballrooms! It would be a great spot for a wedding.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel . I loved the fireplace in the room.
- 4/5
The common areas of the inn are lovely and inviting, however, and my room was fine, although a little worn. And it’s just a few steps from a nice area of East Avenue. I think it’s a good deal, and I’ll be back. I’ve stayed at a lot of Airbnbs in Rochester over the past year or so and finally got tired of all the cheap, particle-board furniture and surface-level chic decor. The Inn at Broadway was a welcome change.
- 5/5
Clean room, comfy bed, Jazz club was fun, robes super soft.
- 5/5
Clean pleasant ans close to where we were going. Would stay again.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was on-site and convenient. Room was clean. I didn't like that one of the two flagpoles was mounted under out window and clunked all night in the wind, that kept waking both me and my kid up. I also badly knocked my shin on the weird protruding wrought-iron bed frame in the middle of the night.
- 5/5
clean, lovely staff. loved the decor and ambiance. will absolutely stay again.
- 5/5
Had a great stay! Room was wonderful, all staff was friendly and helpful. Loved the bar and restaurant!
- 5/5
Beautiful place to stay in the center of Rochester
- 4/5
Staff were lovely. Parking included. Amenities limited and Breakfast sad…. Maybe because day before Veterans Day or Mondays are quiet?
- 4/5
The room is ok. The one we book is out. We got the room with fewer and smaller beds.
- 5/5
So cute!!!
- 5/5
Clean and stylish.
- 5/5
Clean and beautiful
- 5/5
Place has great character and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
- 5/5
Great location lovely place.
- 4/5
Wonderful staff and service, great location, amazing food. The room was spacious. The bedding and toiletries were of good quality. The downstairs restaurant was top-notch. The only drawback was somewhat outdated facilities such as a noisy heating system, a slightly broken chair, not very well insulated from the noise from outside the room.
- 3/5
The room was not cleaned the second night. The gym was not available. I would not have stayed here had I know that.
- 5/5
Nice room, friendly staff
- 5/5
Try unique historic hotel… the speakeasy experience was so cool
- 3/5
A lovely fireplace, no chair to sit by it. Broken down table and rickety old kitchen chairs. Bed was lumpy. Bathroom sink was strange as the faucet was fixed to the side of the sink rather than the back. This makes it extremely difficult to brush teeth. Someone who owns or manages should stay in that room #409 and see how they like it. It might not be that way in every room . The view was good and the restaurant was good. I love boutique style hotels but I would pass this one by next time. Also watch out for the old elevator, it has a mind of its own
- 5/5
The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were all amazing. There is a restaurant, separate bar, and a speak-easy jazz club downstairs. We had a great time! Very close to breakfast options and the Rochester Farmers Market - so close we were able to walk. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it highly.
- 5/5
kind and friendly staff. It was a fun time with my daughter. Would love to come back!
- 5/5
Loved the old building feel with great style and a comfortable room. Had a great dinner in a bar that really fits the building. Nice location close to an active Main Street with lots of outside dining options too. Will definitely return when my travels bring me through Rochester.
- 4/5
We had a room with fireplace; very nice that it was lit when we arrived on a gloomy afternoon. Breakfast was adequate and appreciated that it started at 7. There was a mix up with billing that required 3 inquiries at front desk to resolve.
- 5/5
Staff was wonderful. Loved the hotel
- 5/5
Parking is easy and it is so well restored.
- 5/5
The hotel is a beautiful historic building. Parking is right at the front door. The location is right in the heart of downtown. Fantastic stay. Will stay here again if I’m ever in Rochester in the future.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! We arrived after a late night flight and were quickly welcomed in to a much appreciated and very comfortable night’s sleep. The beauty and style of the property is a delight!
- 5/5
Enjoyed very much our overnight stay at the Inn on Broadway. Excellent bar - the bar decor is very pretty and relaxing - and we had an awesome meal there. And excellent service!
- 5/5
Wonderful old historic hotel! Being tweaked with a few updates. Beautiful lobby, the dining area was busy and attractively furnished. We had dinner there, totally outstanding service (Benjamin) and delicious food. Our room was a bargain for what we paid, old world charm and class, and spotless. Very comfortable in every way. I wanted to be like Eloise and just live there for awhile. Easy walk to the Strong Museum of Play, my reason for going to Rochester.
- 5/5
Beatiful property, friendly staff. Great restaurant on the property
- 5/5
Loved the decor. The staff was very friendly and happy to help with anything.
- 5/5
Very cute hotel. Also convenient to dining.
- 5/5
Great place. But its nothing around you need a car.
- 4/5
Good value central location.
- 5/5
Property was clean and the 1900s styling was amazing
- 5/5
This place is fabulous! Dining & then the jazz lounge(which hidden behind bookshelf!). Rooms are quaint & cozy!!! This is a treasure of Rochester!!
- 5/5
Incredible hotel, wonderful staff. Clean and cozy, the bar and restaurant outstanding, Liz at the front desk was super helpful. The hotel itself is a gem among many cookie cutter corporate stays. Would return in a heartbeat.
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice but a little “used”, stained, torn wallpaper etc. The breakfast was very meager and limited staff to assist when items needed replenishment. We had an issue with another guest smoking which passed into our room. The staff apologized when we brought it to their attention but since it went on all night it would have been better if they were more proactive.
- 5/5
Outstanding staff.
- 5/5
Very unique property. Very clean and nice bar and restaurant on site. Easy drive to the lakes and beaches.
- 5/5
The staff was super friendly and helpful. Beautiful decor and very clean.
- 5/5
Friendly staff The bar and restaurant are divine
- 5/5
Fun and funky place. Right downtown. Walkable to severely cold venues.
- 5/5
Love the ability to walk to shops and restaurants and nearness to Eastman School of Music. Quiet and clean and Bea historic building
- 5/5
The inn was very clean and cozy.
- 4/5
Outstanding
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Very cute and well maintained hotel! Loved all the unique common spaces, like sitting area on third floor and window nooks on second floor. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was absolutely spotless.
- 5/5
The hotel I say that a few times before when visiting with my daughter. It is a wonderful place to stay if you have somebody going to the university of Rochester. Point, old, worldly, with just the right amount of charm.
- 5/5
Very clean ! Comfortable bed ! Great lounge in basement level !
- 5/5
Walkable to the museum, an adorable theater, and music venues! Loved the old charm and huge room.
- 5/5
Well maintained in great condition. Our room was excellent
- 3/5
I like the old school charm of in on Broadway. Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. Really should have some protein options, healthier other options. I felt dinner was way way overpriced.
- 5/5
Fast and east check in
- 3/5
Uncomfortable bed. Curtains let in too much light. No deadbolt or other security locks on the door. Pathetic excuse for breakfast consisting of mediocre pastries, frosted flakes and tubs of yogurt. No ice. Pluses were a beautiful building, an excellent jazz club in the basement, and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Loved the welcoming environment and how clean was everything.
- 5/5
Very nicely decorated hotel, perfect for weddings, special events etc. Area around is new, nice, well taken care. Beautiful church right in front of the hotel. Right behind is TV station with bunch of satellite antennas. Unfortunately, people lurking around on the streets are looking marginalized. Homeless, drug addicts, bottom of the society. Very bad contrast.
- 5/5
Beautiful authentic Antique hotel. Very sympathetic restoration with period correct furniture.
- 5/5
Love the building with the beautiful architecture. It was very comfy, the rooms are clean. The air conditioner was a bit loud though.
- 4/5
The room is small but cozy, and it’s conveniently close to the Strong Museum. The only downside is that the bedsheet wasn’t clean.
- 5/5
The hotel has character. It has a nice downtown location close to the baseball stadium. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and I loved the free parking. It has a great helpful staff and the TV selection was unmatched. There’s a lot to like at the Inn on Broadway.
- 4/5
Not sure how old this property is but they are keeping it up well. A little difficult getting in with stairs etc. They do have a short lift but difficult to operate. Rooms are nice and in a decent neighborhood.
- 3/5
The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking is free and right next to the hotel. The location is nice, right on the edge of downtown. The restaurant is excellent. Unfoturnately, there are a few misses that should be corrected: The room furniture is mismatched, old, chipped and scatched. One faucet handle did not work. The toilet seat needs to be tightened. There are nails on walls where prints must have been. Reservation for two, but only one wine glass and one bathrobe. An unusable chair. This could be such a nice place if management would take a walk through the guest rooms and make small adjustments.
- 3/5
Breakfast was horrible Inn is beautiful inside outside not the greatest area.
- 5/5
What a treat to be able to find this gem! We have been riding our bicycles along the Erie Canal Trail for the past week and this place was a perfect stop for us to rest and recharge. Let’s start with the staff, they are first class and really make you feel at home. The rooms were outstanding and beds extremely comfortable. Once cleaned up, we made our way down to the restaurant and it did not disappoint. The service was outstanding and food as good as it gets. We all agree that Rochester and the Inn on Broadway are a future destination.
- 5/5
I wish the restaurant/bar was open a bit longer

Beautiful boutique hotel! Impeccable service! The staff is excellent! Very well maintained.

This is such a unique place to stay. The room was large and furnished with antique/bed and breakfast styled pieces. The shower and tub were excellent. The dining options and bar downstairs are wonderful. Staff was super friendly and helpfully.

The windows are not noise reducing!!

This place has lovely interior. I liked the experience of staying here. Parking was spacious.

The Inn on Broadway is a hidden gem in downtown Rochester. We were in town for a concert and a music festival and chose this hotel because it was in the middle of the two venues. Very clean, quiet; the staff were friendly and accommodating- it was an excellent experience.
- 5/5
I prefer old, well-maintained, properties instead of all the other cookie-cutter hotels. This was perfect. Only odd thing that made us laugh is that there was one robe left on the bed and one wine glass even though there were two of us. The first night there was no bath mat so we had to use a towel. We didn’t get a chance to use the $25 credit for food/beverage.
- 5/5
A classic downtown hotel with great old world charm. Very close to major attractions.
- 5/5
A really nice place to stay in downtown Rochester. It may have faded a little over the years, but they try very hard. Excellent staff, comfortable rooms. I wish there was a coffee maker in the room, but otherwise excellent.

Amazing customer service. Beautiful historic with a fun surprise entry to the jazz bar.

While the property is in need of updating, we found the staff to be very caring and attentive to our needs. A special thanks to Jimmy and Bree for their wonderful service.

Amazing stay and beautiful rooms!

Perfect for our short stay to visit Rochester. Very friendly and responsive staff working there!

Additionally photos of the rooms on website don't represent actual rooms. There were areas on the walls where the paint was scraped off. Sad breakfast,, especially for a place that's trying to market itself as a special occasion destination. All in all, very disappointing.

Excellent property

The hotel staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a light continental but sufficient for a short stay.

This incredibly beautiful small boutique hotel, a landmark 1929 building, has been meticulously restored. I was upgraded to a luxury room with a gas fireplace and whirlpool tub, free wi-fi, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The new owner is a jazz musician and they have named the wonderful restaurant after him- Gio’s Prime 126 and a new speakeasy jazz lounge open Th-Sat is Vanni’s after his first name Giovanni. This is one of the most unique places I’ve ever stayed and I loved every moment. The 2nd floor ballroom has original murals of scenes of Rochester.

I have stayed in many hotels...this one, especially the staff was outstanding in many ways.
- 2/5
This property is great for maybe a wedding banquet and or party great antique ballroom setup and friendly staff. Cons- Overall, Not a very inviting area, nothing really close by it. Front could use a little freshening up to attract new clientele. Room- I had a luxury room with a jet tub. Overall the room was very nice. However, the TV remote did not work for shutting it off and turning it on. The previous people who was in the room must have unplugged it from the back because we couldn't figure out how to turn it on for a while. The air conditioner did not go below 74°. Unfortunately, when it's 98° outside and you're sleeping during the night you wanted a little bit chillier. Upon check out address these concerns with the staff. The afternoon staff was definitely more friendlier in a tentative to our needs. The morning staff member, just said well the TV remote worked for changing the channel and volume? I said yes but you couldn't turn it off with it. I then said the AC didn't go below 74°. He said okay. That was the end of our conversation. Breakfast- Upon check-in they said there is a small Continental breakfast in the morning. Just an FYI, literally bagels and cereal. Not the end of the world for us but maybe for kids who have allergies and or are picky eaters.

Pretty good place. Breakfast is silly.

Misrepresentation of condition of property. Looks great in pictures but it’s very old and outdated—in a creepy way. The staff is very nice/tries hard but I can’t recommend this property. Location feels unsafe, rooms very dated, terrible breakfast, multiple cars got broken into overnight, shower was stopped up and didn’t drain. Very disappointing experience.
- 4/5
Room was spacious, yet a bit dated and the room wasn't completely clean (the TV and the TV stand hadn't been dusted for some time). The sliding bathroom door was crooked and couldn't close all the way. However, best shower ever! Great independent coffee shop in walking distance.

Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. But things are quite outdated and I don’t mean decor. The historical building is pretty neat, but chipped paint and the musty elevator is a little off putting. To the new owner’s credit however, the light fixtures on my floor were replaced during my stay. So no doubt there will be more to come. My trip ended poorly when a vandal broke into 6 cars during my last night. My window was cracked but fortunately not completely broken as were others in the parking lot. Rochester is becoming increasingly more dangerous and I wish there had been some posted security - some parking lot floodlights at least. The Inn being the nicer hotel around, someone probably figured it’s guests would have valuable items.

Nice hotel, terrible area

All was great breakfast was very week was expecting something incredible like the facility but it was free

This was my second visit and I love this hotel. Comfortable beds, very cool vibe and great staff. The fireworks were across the street.

Was there for a friend’s wedding (best man). When a last minute transportation problem developed, the desk clerk (Liz) drove me to the wedding. All the staff were personable and professional. The room was immaculate and comfortable.

Nice location and very clean and charming

We were told to check out the speakeasy in the basement... we did, only to find out that last call was at about 11pm, which was too bad. Although there were lots of people still in the bar, we were basically just told to leave... which kinda sucked lol. Anyways, checkout was easy. Good stay, nothing too special though.

Can’t wait to stay again.

This is a very nice hotel for the price. It is old . But charming old not failing old. Very pleasant and elegant. Easy self parking , and right downtown for Easy walking to festical events. We were not offered any VIP benefits, but neglected to ask either. We will stay here again

Cons: I like to workout when I’m traveling so building a fitness room would be nice. Breakfast could benefit from more options as well.
- 4/5
We wished that there was a small refrigerator and coffee&tea self service set up in the room. They had a nice bath tub to relax and enjoy.
- 5/5
Staff were very helpful and accommodating, the building and my room were beautiful, very convenient location, 10/10 would stay again.
- 4/5
However, the TV remote was not working and the hotel did not know how to fix the issue and they did not have any replacements/back-up ones. Also, there was a wet rag on top of the showerhead...not sure if a used one or if it was used for something else...either way, not cool. Nonetheless, the room itself was clean and spacious and generally comfortable for the 2-day stay.

Loved the bathtub and fireplace in the room. Cute hotel. Would stay again next time in Rochester.

The hotel was pretty. Nice renovated old building. I enjoyed the decoration and furnishings throughout. The area
- 5/5
A lovely nostalgic experience. Clean and comfortable rooms. The exterior and interior take you back to a time of elegance long forgotten.
- 5/5
Unique hotel with lots of character, walking distance to many places downtown. Great stay!

When we got to our room these weren't present. Reception apologised but were unable to put us in a room with these features Plus continental breakfast entailed cold coffee, bagels and hard cakes.

At check in I was insistent that the following morning at 4:30 AM, the desk would be able to check me out, as I had a train to catch at 5:15 AM. The desk attendant said she would give a note to the person that would be on duty at that early hour. The desk was not attended then, I took an incoming call from the taxi driver, and told him I would be out in a minute or two. Then I entered the office, wrote a note stating no one was present to check out room 405, and left the room key by the note. Then an employee arrived, and shouted " What are you doing in there?" I responded "No one was present to check me out, so I went in to drop the key off". Then I heard "Get out! You're not coming back". I must give the staffer credit, he did not assault me. Although I would have preferred the desk to have been attended at the time I required, and a more gracious way to open the encounter would have been "Good morning, how can I help you?", I did board the train, so that is what mattered. There is scant evidence that this joint screens and trains staff for acceptable work in the hospitality business.

Every time I stay here there is a plumbing problem. The place has gone under renovations over the last couple of years so to me that is unacceptable. Each room is equipped differently, even in the same price range, which seems strange to me. I have often experienced running toilets, broken coffee makers and hair dryers. The restaurant used to be outstanding for many years. Now it is slightly about mediocre and still way over priced. I have been staying at the Inn off and on for the past 15 years. I just don’t enjoy it anymore.

The elevator was out of commission when we arrived at 2AM.

My MIL got the Deluxe room and I was jealous ! There are shower heads from head to waist! Wonderful. Rooms were clean, easy to get in and out of parking. Bed was a little hard but it was fine. The only complaint would be no refrigerator in room and no little place to get snacks. Downtown near lots of things to do. But we got it at a great price and I would for sure stay there again!

My family has stayed at Inn on Broadway a number of times over the years and love the unique old-time style of this place. But this time we were a little disappointed by two things: (1) the heater in Room 302 was so loud that we could hardly sleep at night, although the front-desk staff was very nice and moved us to a better room for the next night; (2) there was no longer continental breakfast served in the dining room, which we used to enjoy very much.

Lovely inn but very noisy at night outside, at the street level and in the hallway. Restaurant very expensive for the quality and atmosphere.

The area surrounding the hotel is sketchy. Definitely do not walk around after dark.
- 5/5
Loved by the locals, has a community connection, complimentary drink at the bar led to a great meal and conversation with locals.
- 4/5
Very spacious and clean. Mostly Good but some odd features. Phone for wake up not working. Tv didn’t get signal easily. Had to unplug it and plug back in. Poor lighting in room and to turn on the one big light you had to climb behind a big chair to step on the button on the floor. Could not control temp so it was too hot. No deadbolt in the door which was a little creepy at night. Parking lot not terribly well lit at night.
- 5/5
Quiet, beautiful decor throughout, easily accessible. We had some drinks at the bar and the bartender was top notch with personality!

Such a beautiful, elegant boutique Inn, with extra special service! The staff were very friendly and the location is very central and easy to get all around downtown! Definitely recommend.

I was not told that there was a curfew and found myself locked out of the hotel at midnight. There must have been maintenance going on over night on my floor and it kept me up most of the night. My coffee pot did not work. I’ve been staying here for almost 20 years. This is the first time that I wished I had stayed elsewhere.

Traveled for work during St Patricks Day weekend so a lot of activity in the area
