The first night there there were kids, no adults present running up and down the hall yelling, throwing balls, slamming doors till about 130 in the morning. Needless to say I got no sleep. Complained to front desk, others Complained too. Was told I would be compted for that night.

My room was unsanitary and unsafe. Standing water in the shower with a clogged drain, smoke detector off the wall. Random staples and debris about the room, dirty towels and walls, trash in the refrigerator. I left within 30 min.

The facility looks new from the outside, bed comfortable but carpet dirty, cribs on the floor definitely housekeeping did not vacuum. Requested a blanket we were given a fitted sheet that we had to pick up the front desk as only 1 person is working. Breakfast ok. Music blasting on the floor we stayed into, no one said anything. We will NOT BE BACK .

This is not a perfect hotel, but you definitely get what you pay for! Very decent hotel with wonderful staff, it's legit. I had a suite room that was next to the elevator so there times where it was a little noisy, but for the most part I enjoyed the room; it was clean, it was spacious, comfortable, and it has everything that I needed and more. Free breakfast was very nice too, I really appreciated that. 🙂

I tried to call the desk, but the phone was out of order, so I went back down and described the situation to the receptionist who moved us to another room. Again the beds looked hastily made and this time there were dirty finger smears on the folded over part of the bed sheet, Again the floor was not vacuumed AND the inside of the door and part of the door knob were smattered with what looked like bbq sauce! Again the phone didn't work so I went back to the desk. This time the receptionist came up to the room, took pictures, and called the owner. We demanded a refund, At first she said she wasn't able to refund since I had booked w/Hotels.com. When I reminded her that she had JUST charged my credit card $499 for 3 nights + a $100 refundable "courtesy" fee, she reversed herself. By now it was 11:00 pm & we left and booked another hotel.

The night manager was wonderful and very responsive. She personally came to remedy the problem. Here is what happened...We checked in late to our room and unfortunately, housekeeping didn't clean our room. When my son was getting ready to go to sleep, he noticed the sheets were soiled. We also noticed that used towels were still hanging from the hooks.

I all ways use holiday in but this particular location wasn’t good first all this is non smoking hotel I made reservations for to rooms both smelled smoke cigarettes and other and the sheet on the bed wasn’t changed they just re-organize it because I could tell they were being cold and with hair on it so I’m not happy with this day and also wasn’t clean. There was a lot of dust everywhere.

It wasn't the worst hotel, so the things I say were not a deal breaker, just a small annoyance for me that was easily fixed. The toilet paper was low and there was no back up roll, so we had to ask for another. There was no body wash in the bottle, but we had soap with us. The hand soap ran out after a day of hand washing. There was only two of us. Staff in front office were nice and helpful. The cleaning staff was loud. Ample parking and area felt safe.

I stayed two nights and the first night I went out to smoke snd stepped in a pile of human feces. I reported it and nothing was done to resolve the issue until the next shift members came in and stated cleaning the property.. it was directly outside the entrance in the back by the pool area.

Breakfast was ok, over cooked eggs and meats. Check in front desk manager has a terrible attitude. The pools intense stench of chlorine had kids coughing and I told the front desk it was highly unsafe as even the HVAC wasn’t properly ventilating the room. My eyes were burning. Kids were coughing terribly within just a few minutes of being in there. They’re honestly lucky I didn’t call the fire dept bcuz I think the fumes were so very unsafe! They did close it down for a bit and then told me they fixed the problem however they did not so I reached out to the company myself due to the unsafe environment for kids including my own. If I’m going to spend money for a pool which I know most families do, I want my moneys worth and this was not it! very busy, loud shutting doors, our counter was dirty soon arrival. Check in was 3 and I was after 4 and still had to wait 15 mins for my room to be ready. Very poor all around

When I confronted the manger, she admitted they didn’t have people to clean the rooms in nearly a week, due to the storm. Still had to pay for a 1 night stay. Amenities. We booked because of the pool for our little one while here for a volleyball tournament. The pool was closed and no one notified us.

Check in went well. Went to our assigned room, left everything there. Went looking for the pool, thats when we found out the pool was under maintenance. Came back, got the grandchild around for bed, when i pulled the blankets down, it was noticeable that the sheets were not changed. There was hairs in the bed, bloody looking bugars on the side. Looked under the bed, there was water bottles, two beer bottle caps, trash, and nasty food wrappers. Pictures were taken shown to the staff, offered up a new room on a different floor. Went to the new room. No issues with the new room.

When we checked in it was like we were scum on her shoe and when we checked out we had to holler that we wants to check out and wait over 10 mins before anyone showed up. I was told I could leave and that a refund would be issued. Later, the hotel falsely claimed that I used the room, which is untrue. I had to book another hotel the same night. Very disappointing handling of a legitimate cleanliness issue.

However, it was still very poorly maintained: the toilet hadn’t been cleaned, the carpet was dirty, and the noise from the heating system kept us awake. Most of the staff was pleasant, some of the women cleaning the rooms were very unpleasant. The room was standard. The front desk was always empty so when I wanted to buy something downstairs I waited over 10 minutes and no one ever came besides the rude cleaning ladies who ignored us so I couldn't even purchase it. It was an okay experience, did the job for one night.

The girl that checked us in was very nice, the breakfast was well stocked and warm things were warm and there was lots of options, the pool was fun disappointed they don’t keep towels at the pool though and there were only two body towels in my room but 4 of us staying in there. The room was nice but the bathroom was grimy and the faucet was dirty and there were visible stains on the comforter. Less than ideal.

Our king size room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. I would add that the rug edges at baseboards needed vacuuming. It was quiet, even tho next to highway. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. We didn’t eat breakfast but I did grab 2 muffins for the road. It looked like a good variety of food available tho. Definitely would stay there again, if needed somewhere in that area.

Rooms filthy , hair and dirt everywhere . Took a paper towel to wipe the hair off the shower floor and it was brown indicating that it had not been thoroughly clean . Hair was on the toilet and floor and it was like it like I was in a house of hair . The poor staff tried. To fix it and she was working the front desk , and also had to come and clean the room . I won’t be coming back !

The staff was attentive and helpful - we got suggestions re where to have dinner nearby and they were overall lovely. The room was very clean, the heat worked perfectly (which was a real bonus bc it was frigid outside), ample towels, there was nothing we wanted that was not already provided. I’ve stayed here a few times when visiting Rochester. It seems like the cleanliness is going downhill. The bathroom was very dirty. Hair in the tub. Hair and dirt on the floor.

The room had trash on the floor and a pair of socks in the corner next to the window. They made the beds how did they miss that? The alarm clock time was not updated. Neither was the microwave. When I called the front desk he said I don't know about that. He told me to leave a comment here! Didn't even offer to remove the socks.

Holiday Inn Express used to be our go to hotel, but we’re done after this trip. Neither of the beds had been changed after the last guest, they were just made back up. One of them still had lint from their pajamas on the sheets when we turned back the covers to go to bed. I called the front desk and was brought sheets to change myself. I understand that we got in at 1:30 am after a delayed flight, and no housekeeping staff was available, but I never should have had to make the call. In addition, there was hair on various parts of the toilet and pubic hair on the shower curtain as well as something smeared on the shower wall. We canceled our next night and went somewhere else. And guess what? When I got my emailed receipt, I was charged for both nights. Ridiculous!

The first room I was in, there was mould on the shower curtain and the towels were dirty. I was right beside the kitchen and my room filled up with grease smoke in the morning as they had the door to the kitchen open, so it was wafting down the hall. I was able to move rooms, which was great, but the second room still had issues. Parking felt safe, breakfast was good-- good options, but the rooms weren't all that great. There was chocolate milk or coffee on the window shade too? For the money I think there could have been better options in the area.

I had contacted you the same day I made this reservation by mistake and asked that you refund me since I could not stay at the hotel. You checked and told me that the hotel refused to refund my payment. So I cannot comment on my stay since I didn't avail of the hotel on Oct 27-28, since the dates were wrong. I will be having surgery in Strong Memorial in the next 3 months when I plan to spend time in a Rochester hotel before and after this surgery. Unless I get a refund for the reservation above, I will seek other hotels in the area. I feel cheated. I contacted you within 24 hours that. I had made a mistake and wanted a refund. I feel that is a reasonable request and hope the hotel enjoys using the money without my being able to stay in the hotel. Peter

The room was a little crowded. There were three adults and it was a tight fit. Maybe that's routine for the Express Holiday Inns.

The room we stayed in this time was big, but faced the busy freeway and was very noisy. The toilet paper holder was coming off the wall and there was a white stain on the couch.

Got there late so there wasn’t a lot of options. Checked in the room and there was a chicken wing meal in the refrigerator someone left before us. There were several long hairs all over the bathroom. The tub was gross. The room smelled and there was dust everywhere. Got a text that night from the hotel and told them but they didn’t respond. Barely slept but woke up and found another hotel and decided to cancel what was going to be a 2 night stay at the Holiday Inn. Checked out and advised the front desk staff it was gross and disgusting and we couldn’t stay we were cancelling and there was no apology no nothing. Guy didn’t care. Just kinda along for the ride and a paycheck apparently. Thought about speaking to a manager but unsure what good that would do since we weren’t taking our chances with the nasty hotel.

Room was dirty: I found food/crap in the shower, on TV and on the wall. Batteries in the thermostat were low (visible warning) and died during the night leaving the AC unit on heat, I replaced them with the ones from the TV remote which were also low. I used batteries from my mouse. The hotel needs new management.

Stay was horrible. I was supposed to have a handicap accessible room. They did not give us one or change us to a handicap room. I have a broken kneecap and needed bars by the shower and toilet for my safety. I had to use the handicap bathroom downstairs in the lobby even in the middle of the night. Also They did not make up the room and we had to go downstairs to the front desk to get our towels, toilet paper and Kleenex. They blamed it all on Hotels.com and said we didn't book thru them. This room is usually $84 . Yet we paid $250 plus tax per night. Frankly we should be reimbursed for our stay at $581.56 and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review for anything, but this was truly a nightmare for me.

The sheets were dirty. We had to ask for them to change them because they were full of black hair. The toilet was cracked, the rug was stained, and the floors in the hall had wrappers and other trash, which stayed throughout the weekend.

Front desk staff was rude and doing us a favor by checking us in. The disdain on the face was so apparent. Booked two rooms and asked if they can be on the same floor. Not even an effort to look for options. And the patronizing tone.

Lobby looked nice but the rest of the property looked run down. Our shower obviously wasn’t scrubbed because there were soap scum and the shampoo/soap holder was rusted out. The coffee maker was dirty as well…. Not to mention my in-laws were staying in a separate room and there’s literally had food on the floor and their coffee maker was dirty gross as well….

The room would've been ok, however wasn't clean, the toilet bowl had crap stains and the floor hadn't been vacuumed, it had a green fingernail and a raisin on the floor, visible. I told an associate, and he said he'd get the supervisor or housekeeping to clean, NOTHING! No one even came to bring clean towels and washcloths. The room doors are so loud when they open, it woke me up when the door next to me opened. I dont know if it needs some WD-40 on them or what. Oh and my room phone was messed up too. I can't believe I traveled 10 hrs to stay there. I hope it gets cleaned properly before the next guest arrives. Room 506

We had a great time visiting, but we had a terrible sewer smell that was extremely disruptive. The young man said the maintenance person had to leave due to emergency and was willing to move our room! That was very inconvenient. The smell got better but then came back around 11pm and lasted till we checked out!

We were on a floor with multiple people traveling in a group and were loud both nights till after midnight. We complained about the music, yelling and congregating in the hall. Kids were ding dong ditching on the doors at 11:30 pm as well as the smell of weed. My daughters and I came back to the hotel at 10:45pm from a dance competition and needed to be up early the next day so I went right back down to complain when I was told others had and they were contacting them only to find out they were calling my room. So I have no idea if it was taken care of because it continued for another hour.

Big party room in room 221 and we were across the hall in 224. Called for earplugs 10:20pm for kids running up and down the hall screaming and unsupervised for awhile, guy said he would bring earplugs and check it out, but nothing. Called again 10:50pm and talked to the front desk lady now, started walking down to reception to get them myself at 11:03pm when nobody showing up, got earplugs and lady rolled her eyes when asked if could call them on 221 and ask to be respectful of the others, as 221 was also just getting a big bag of food delivered to the room, so assuming their party was going for awhile. I had asked for a quiet room at check in and the front desk person assured me it was. Nope.

The room was clean. The pool was really nice and heated. Overall a really nice stay but the pancake machine was down for breakfast. The noise was overall quiet expect we heard a lot of doors opening and closing through the stay. The TV blocked out most of it though.

The property had a great location for our needs. Unfortunately, the stay overall was a bit underwhelming. Breakfast was undercooked and egg discs were still runny, pool was out of towels at one point leaving us unable to leave on time when the pool was closing. Housekeeping didn’t make it to our room even with the sign removed and us out of the room before 9 and there were some stray hairs in the bathroom and on the bed.

I stayed for 3 nights. Walking into the room initially it smelled so nice! Was definitely cleaned thoroughly before checking in along with during our stay. I requested new sheets and towels after each sleep (for personal reasons) and housekeeping was very accommodating. They did a great job!! Everyone I encountered at the front desk were nice and welcoming. The one thing I wasn’t a fan of was the breakfast. The eggs were brown and sausage were like hockey pucks. Normally I’d chalk it up to just sitting too long but this was at 6:00 when they first opened up for breakfast. Although there was plenty of other options to choose from!! Definitely would stay here again when I’m in the area! 5 stars!!!

Our room was on the top (4th) floor, and it was extremely difficult to relax or sleep due to constant noise. In addition to the freeway sounds, there was a persistent hum and rumbling likely coming from the HVAC system or mechanical equipment on the roof or technical floor. After the first night, I reported the issue to the front desk—no response. Later, I spoke with someone named Marcelo, explained the situation, and asked to be moved to another floor. Unfortunately, that request was also ignored. At checkout, a gentleman in a suit (possibly the manager) asked about our stay. I shared my concerns, and while he apologized, he said there wasn’t much he could do other than credit some points to my account—which he mentioned but never followed through on. I also brought up that housekeeping was vacuuming the room next to ours at 10:30 p.m., which added to the disturbance. I forgot to mention that the phone in our room didn’t work and the TV was misconfigured. To be fair, the hotel was clean (though showing some signs of age), the breakfast was decent, and the location is excellent. However, considering our overall experience, we’d likely choose a different hotel next time. Tip: If you do book here, I highly recommend avoiding the 4th floor.

More like a Motel than Hotel if you catch my drift. Had to leave because we heard inappropriate talk and sexual noises "very loud" had to leave in the middle of the night.

generally everything is as expected because this is not the first time staying at holiday inn express. i am a regular guest of holiday inn express. however something could have been done better in this stay was, not to let your staff interrupting guests by knocking on everyone’s room door to door yelling “house keeping , house keeping” at 9:45am because it is not checkout time yet. the check out time is 11am. otherwise, everything is ok.

I reserved a king size room and upon check in we were "upgraded" to a double queen room.. im sorry but that is NOT an upgrade.

People at the front desk were friendly. I would definitely stay here again, They had a heated pool and looked as though people were having a good time,

Quiet, convenient, and plenty of parking.

Loved staying at the property. Only dislike I had was that the housekeeping staff knocked on my hotel room door at 9:45am and I am unsure why. I booked only one night and I didn’t appreciate being woken up so early.

The room hasn’t been clean. There’s dust and trash behind the bed, spiderwebs in the corner by the AC unit, shower was dirty. There were strands of hair on the bed, under the blankets.

Despite contacting the front desk to let them know that my shower had hairs on the floor and on the wall, nobody came to clean. I was there for 2 nights, the room was not cleaned at all, despite reporting the hairs to 2 different staff members who supposedly told housekeeping. I had to clean the shower stall myself with the hotel towels so I could shower.

I used the main floor washroom and noticed it wasn’t cleaned in the day or so since I went into it last. It had the same soapy water marks left from the day before. Food was pretty good. Staff for front desk were sometimes hard to find. Rooms have no info on how to dial front desk from the room. I asked for 2 blankets but was told they were running low and I got 1 extra blanket instead. Pool is cloudy but very warm. Room was a bit crowded. Not a lot of space to move between deal and beds. Desk chair was in the way a lot. It was a fair price for the experience. Staff were polite.

Unfortunately, we had to change rooms because the one we checked into had a broken door and a tilted bed. Additionally, we had a noisy neighbour next door who wouldn't stop talking loudly, which was quite annoying for the kids and us. However, the staff were very helpful and changed our room without any questions. On a positive note, the breakfast was excellent for a location like this.

The pool was extremely dirty. In addition, the water was cloudy and milky. Debris was floating and also below surface. Access to then pool was restricted unless front desk opened door. Room, bedding and bathroom was clean. TV was newer and overall the hotel was reasonably priced. Good breakfast for on the run.

The hotel is well kept and helpful employees. We stayed because close to hospital and many resturants within a 2 mile drive. The price of hotel was very reasonable.

The staff is FANTASTIC and helpful, the facilities are great but the upkeep and cleanliness is where they fail. I don't think it's the end of the world if you find dental floss behind your bathroom door or a hair or two in the bathtub. But i definitely know it's not everyone that could handle that. I had 2 rooms and both had toilet issues (water flowing constantly). Breakfast is amazing, everything you need to get your day going. If your looking for a roof a clean bed and a shower, book now. If you're looking to be amazed by your experience. This is not the Ritz

Only stayed for a short time. Shower was a little dirty but otherwise everything else was up to par. Staff was friendly and texted me shortly after we got to the room to see how everything was. At that point I hadn’t looked in the shower yet. Otherwise no complaints.

The staff made our stay wonderful. Great people. Clean rooms.

We brought the kids to swim for February break and stayed 2 nights. Breakfast was good and the pool was nice and warm

Love the pillows that were firm. Only thing that wasn’t good was the fire alarm went off at 7:30am, which was a false alarm.
