Holiday Inn Express Rochester - Greece by IHG

Clean room and bed, helpful staff. Its a smaller place with smaller rooms, cramped toilet/shower room, sink outside that area. Small windows, mine viewing a very close busy 4 lane Blvd. Many food options across the street. Starbucks, etc. Ceiling in room low. Was not as nice as other HD express hotels. Parking lot kind of grungy. Close to a freeway... okay for fast on and off travel. Not much else though.

We spent 3 nights the first morning housekeeping came early morning that was the last time we saw them. TV remote didn't work, Nothing was refilled the entire time. I had to ask for clean towels.We arrived around 1130 PM and asked if they had a soda machine or somewhere we could purchase soda. I was told in the cooler. I walked to the cooler removed two 12 ounce cans of coke and asked how much they were. The gentleman said $4.00 I handed him a $5 dollar bill he laughed and said no they are $4.00 each. I paid for the soda and went to our room. The pass key did not work we had to go back to the desk every day and have the door pass keys reset. I was not told there would be a $100.00 charge on my charge card because I booked with Hotels com. The staff said if I didn't use incidentals it would be returned in around 48 hours because my card didn't match the card used to book and pay for the room. The breakfast was very nice and the area kept nice and clean. I will definitely rethink my decision the next time I book a hotel.

Staff at front desk was excellent and assisted me with wifi. She also secured an important backpack that my husband had to pick up.

The front desk manager said because I booked through Travelocity they could not credit me any money back. The manager offered 1,000 IHG bonus points as compensation! The room was 30,000 points…. So basically 3.00!

Was extremely happy with all aspects of our stay. The service, cleanliness and atmosphere exceeded my expectations.

Front desk was almost always vacant of welcoming personnel. If I wanted something, I would have to call out. The room we were given was much in need of renovation: window was missing a pane that made outside noise seem like the window was open; the air conditioner was very noisy and did not work properly once we were able to turn it on; there were no hooks near sink and back of bathroom door to hold towels, robes, overnight kit, etc; the corner love seat is useless (very uncomfortable); key card to enter room would require multiple attempts before "green light" appeared. On the plus side, the room was clean when we arrived. Also, the always available coffee in the lobby was excellent and breakfast buffet was well stocked and maintained.

Breakfast was ok. Not great but good. Biscuits and gravy was awesome, sausage good, omelette awful. OJ good. Lord of choices around hotel for food as well.

Breakfast had a good variety and everything seemed fresh. Half the hotel was under construction but i would have never known, didnt hear a thing.

The Holiday Inn Express Rochester, on February 28 – March 3, lobby was under construction, it appears to be a limited face lift. Any 4 stars ratings are attributed to the “face lift”. The room itself and the staff were 5 stars. The room was clean. A lamp lite was out but was repaired early the next day – there were no excuses just a quick repair - nice. The bathroom was small but functional. I liked it – why waste space in a bathroom while taking away space from the living area? Getting used to the room's heater was interesting. It had a loud start then continue rapidly to heat up the room. The water in the bathroom was quick to heat up. The breakfast food was good. My schedule was busy. I did not have to time to see the Gym. The parking area was good. The snow plowed no issures there. Everything, shopping, restaurants were close by including the Highway.

Fantastic stay

I sat down on the end of the bed and was instantly concerned. The bed was rock hard and I not only felt BUT HEARD the springs in the mattress creek and crunch. My husband and I slept ON TOP of the blankets to try and have some type of padding. I was absolutely CRIPPLED from sleeping on this mattress for 4 hours. I was unable to get out of bed unassisted and it took me 2 hours before I could attempt to stand upright. I am writing this 8 hours after getting home and having to go to Urgent Care because the pain is unbearable. A quick overnight trip for my wedding anniversary has ended in horrific pain, urgent care and a boatload of steroids and pain relievers. Definitely not an anniversary I want to remember. I will NEVER stay at a Holiday Inn ever again.

The room was perfect! Clean and well maintained. Breakfast was amazing. The staff was amazing. Very respectful. I will recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is nice and clean. All the staff is nice and friendly except for one female we encountered at the front desk. Can’t remember her name. She was rude, horrible customer service! Not helpful at all!! The water pressure in the shower is low so that made it kinda hard to wash long hair. Our room was clean and nice. Great location! Breakfast was good with lots of options. Overall would stay again

Breakfast disappointing. Instead of delicious light fluffy scrambled eggs, they had flat tasteless obviously premade omelets. Breakfast should have been available an hour earlier Front desk was not continually staffed. Had to yell for someone. Unbelievable that we had to pay $100 upon registration (IN CASE WE DAMAGED ANYTHING)!!! Bathroom was way too SMALL! I am a small person, and could barely close the bathroom door. Never seen any hotel that tiny! Room decor was mostly Black, very depressing and dark.

Breakfast was nice cleanliness very good. Staff was cordial The traffic noise in 3rd floor front room was excessive. The two sides of the king size bed were crushed concave and lumpy like elephants were sleeping there . I had to sleep in the middle where it was reasonably firm

Clean and friendly When I checked out at 5:30am nobody was at the front desk. Yes they had a sign but I needed to leave. No card box to drop the keys off.

I stayed in a handicap accessible room and was given a broken TV. I believe that due to my disability they didn't care. I reported the TV broken and was asked if I wanted to move room and it was too much for me to do after a long travel for business so they told me someone would come the next day to swap it out. Nobody ever came. Whats the reason for a $100 accidental hold if clearly the last person did not pay to replace the TV, I was hurt by being lied to about the TV. This ruined my experience at this Holiday Inn which I usually love staying at.

However, all necessary items were present, possibilities to heat items is good, warm eggs etc. is good too. Don't know anything about the area, came and left from parking lot Oatmeal could have been tasty, opposed to offered one, which was plain bad. Muffins, bagels etc, could be not from mass production warehouse, wrapped in cellophane, sitting in boxes forever.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. This place is clean. Breakfast was very good. Eat whatever you want No one will stop you or gives you looks.

The cleaning person was singing loud in the hallways banging the vacuum cleaner against my door very hard. The sink did not drain. I was in the front so it was a lot of road noise from the street.

The room was compact but nice. I especially enjoyed the lounge chaise for reading.

Parking was so easy

The mattress was old and very uncomfortable I could feel the springs all night. There were badly patched dry wall spots all over and the pillows were flat. But on a positive note it’s seemed clean and the staff were friendly and the breakfast was nice.

The housekeeping staff were loud and rude yelling outside of guest room as soon as they got on shift in the morning. They proceeded to bang on the doors, yelling housekeeping to get in. Also, if you do not remove your do not disturb sign on the door before 9 AM your room does not get cleaned the managers on staff as well as the general manager did not accommodate complaints and they basically negated the complaints I had to clean my own room and go down and get towel so I would be able to shower in the morning as the phone in the room did not work corporate officers were less than helpful as well. They wanted to give me points on a future stay I will never stay at a Holiday Inn property again after this this is the abridged version as I did not want to go on and on.

Great breakfast!

The customer service was horrible. We called ahead to advise of a late check in and we were assured someone would be there. We knocked, called etc.. for 20 mins until a guest staying there let us in. The staff member then came to the front desk and when we told him how long we had been there - he acted like he couldn't care less. He said - we turn the ringer off in the back office because its loud. We had been travelling all day and were exhausted and it was almost midnight when we arrived. Simple customer service training could have helped in this scenario - but there was no recognition at all that this was bad customer service, let alone unsafe to be locked out of a hotel close to midnight. When we finally got to the room - that itself was a disappointment. But definitely not something to complain about if we weren't already upset. The tub had multiple hairs all over it. The bathroom was so small that you can barely fit on the toilet. The fan in the bathroom felt like we were listening to a plane taking off. The window drafty and let in loads of street noise. The door has lots of space underneath so there is constant light coming in from the hallway. There was literally nothing nice at all about this hotel.

Easy access, clean, good breakfast options. Absolutely no water pressure, and water would turn freezing after 3 minutes in the shower.

Freshly brewed coffee is really appreciated. The only thing thing about the room is that there isn’t much counter space to put your toiletries but otherwise, good stay.

We had a suite. The pull out sofa mattress is beat. Springs poking through it. Sometimes we need a room for 3. Everyone should be comfortable sleeping. The help said it was new. It wasn’t. The room was clean. Parking is easy. Breakfast ok. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Cons: People (not just guests) smoking in front of building. Beds- they were hard as a rock and uncomfortable. The chairs were softer. Pillows were deflated. Overall score 7 out of 10 because of the cons.

The bed was very comfortable.

I loved the way the rooms were designed and the friendly staff. Everyone was very kind, welcoming and attentive. The only complaint I have is that my friend and I had issues with using the key card. It had to be reprogrammed twice. I do appreciate that the Front Desk staff helped us get these issues resolved quickly.

The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable, the bathroom was the size of a closet, it smelled dollar tree perfume. And the elevator made a wierd noise. This place was not it.

Bed The bathroom. Toilet was too small. The back of the top lid on the toilet I kept slipping off. I was so worried about it. Falling on the floor Every time I went to reach back to wipe. The lid just slipped off. I don't know if it was the wrong lid, or what? But it scared me because I didn't want it to break. And they end up charging me for it dangerous situation. Bathroom area was way too small. The sink in door way when you 1st walk in room.

The gentleman who checked me in was wonderful very professional and friendly. The hotel charged my credit card twice for incidentals (each $100 = $200). I was charged on Aug, 15 and it is the 18th and I still don't have my money back.

The room was very comfortable though I wish the bathroom was a bit larger.

The breakfast was terrible. Definately no bacon either days even though pics of it in there. Eggs were not edible. Floor was so sticky my shoes peeled off after each step, both days! Didnt mind to pay a bit more because of promised hot breakfast but we had to go out and get food anyways for our entire family. Pros had cereal milk fruit and cinnamon rolls. Hallways and rooms smell like strong purfume, thanks to boxes along ceiling all down hallways. Room was small and bathroom even smaller. Beds were ok but our backs r both killing us today after 2 nights there. Water pressure is not good for shower, but manageable. Will be omitting holiday inns from here on out in our travels

Credit card information was stolen while at hotel. I didn’t travel or purchasing anything in the area. Was charged a $100 deposit on this credit card for incidentals when checking in. Multiple purchases for app subscriptions and gift cards were attempted while at hotel and up to a week later up to and including today. Thankfully my credit card company noticed the fraud and shut down most of the activity.

The room was clean. The check-in was easy. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The downside that made this stay almost impossible was the elevator was not functioning. Two of our group have mobility issues. Handicap accessible rooms were requested. No one let us know that there wasn’t a working elevator until we arrived. The staff did all they could to assist us but no ground floor rooms were available. They carried our luggage to our rooms but it was quite a climb for two of our travelers. Be forewarned that there is no date as to when the elevator will be fixed. They are awaiting parts with no idea when they will arrive.

Every time we had to go up by stairs to 4th floor. Imagine to walk up to 4th floor with suitcases & stuffs. Specially I got back pain so badly. We were not happy to stay here.

The elevator didn't work during our entire stay. There was no staff available to help with the luggage and we were staying on the fourth floor. At the very least they should have had help available or offered a discount.

No elevators for an entire graduation weekend

On our second night, we returned to the hotel after a long day at 8pm to find that the hotel’s one and only elevator was broken, and they had no idea when it would be fixed, and it was not being worked on. We were on the 4th floor, and my mom uses a cane. They had no 1st floor rooms available, they had no other hotel to move us to. They offered us 50% off the room for that night if we checked out immediately. Once we cleared our room out, they wouldn’t process a check out, or even provide a note that we had checked out, and instead decided to call the cops on us. I do not recommend.

There was hair all over the shower. I have the pictures to prove that it was not cleaned.

Its an average holiday Inn.nothing special. Not bad breackfast. Breakfast laddy is nice and welcoming. Coffe below average probobly cheapest brand they can purchase. Frontdesk people unremarkable basically a faceles robots. Exept a girl in the morning shift Wednesday morning. Still all of them hidingvin the back and you have to screem to get someone attention.

This was my wedding anniversary and I was placed in a room equipped for disabled individuals I think in that situation they should ask me permission before just placing me there and give me the option of staying or declining and not just me but any individual person!!!!!!!should have that option…..

We got there late- 9pm. Check in was quick and easy and the attendant was extremely friendly. Included breakfast was good. Overall a great place to sleep as we were going to Kodak center just down the road.

This property was well maintained and the room was immaculate. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.

My stay was okay I say because I was not able to sleep through the night. There was noise in other rooms on the floor. The breakfast was good and overall it is not a bad stay if it wasn’t for the noise.

Very good accommodations, the room was clean and neat, personnel was friendly and obliging, and conveniently located close to commercial strips. Red Lobster and Asian Cuisine offered good meals and affordable prices for somebody staying for business. Drive to downtown Rochester is approximately 10 - 12 minutes.

Very nice hotel. The only thing I did not like was that there were a few loud and noisy customers on the 4th floor.

Also, the walls are incredibly thin and we had a lot of activity in the halls all hours of the night. I won’t be staying here again, due to the cigarette smoke and noise.

The service was great. Let us check in early and check out late. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really good. Had some trouble sleeping because of noisey guests but apparently they were asked to leave, so that cant be held against the hotel. Price was good. Location was convenient.
