When I informed the clerk that we could not stay due the room condition and the unsafe environment, he simply said "fine, just leave" While check out stray cats were entering the lobby and spraying on the walls, and the clerk made no effort to remove them. As we drove around the building , it appeared that individuals were living long-term in some room, with crates and personal belongings outside the door. I have never stayed in a hotel where I felt so unsafe and uncomfortable-especially while traveling with my daughter. the conditions were unsanitary, unsafe and uncomfortable for a paying guest. I strongly believe the health department should be notified.

This hotel, room 103, qualifies as one of the worst properties we’ve ever stayed in. The back of the entry door had uneraserable magic markers scribbling. There was no fire sprinkler system. There was no smoke or carbon dioxide alarm, just loose wires out of the wall. There was excessive mold around the bathtub. The toilet worked poorly, even after numerous plungings. The bed was okay. We were glad to leave in the morning.

beware! Upon entering, I felt so unsafe.I never checked in but was charged despite. Upon driving into this place there were thug looking residence living in rooms. The smell of marijuana reached us as we got out the car.. A pitbull charged out of one of them and a woman in pajamas in followed him. There were several cats roaming the property and dog poo was all over the hallway grounds on the second floor. The pool area was filled with debris from trees and showed lack of care. The bathroom in the office area had broken dispensers, dangling from the walls, and a thick mound of mold, surrounded the air vent above. The windows and curtains are all dirty, smudged and unsightly. The pictures on the Internet is for someone else’s hotel but not for this one. I was charged two nights and didn’t stay one night. I filed a claim with my insurance and it was denied because the complaints did not fit under the categories for reimbursement. So beware of the insurance and this hotel steer clear.

This property needs a lot of work done. It was very dirty and unkept and in disrepair. Luckily, I had brought my own bed clothes. Otherwise I would not have slept in the bed. The first room they showed me had cockroaches and cigarette burns all over the bathtub so I changed rooms. It was a little better, but not much I would not suggest staying here unless you’re just really can’t afford to stay anywhere else. The floors were so dirty you could not walk on them. There was no daily cleaning or towels brought to the room or anything like that. You had to go to the front desk to trade your towels out for clean ones anyway I was just very unhappy with my mistake, but I was kind of stuck there because they don’t give refunds beware.

Would not recommend staying there. Not sure when the last time the room was cleaned. Had severe water damage in several areas. No trash cans. Tub did not drain properly. Not worth the money it cost me to stay there.

I don’t normally leave reviews, good or bad, property was not good. Very old and not kept up. We didn’t stay, left after seeing a couple of rooms. We had just stayed in a Wyndham property elsewhere, but after change of plans we needed another night. Graduation made it unaffordable elsewhere. Prices here were much higher than usual here as well, I get it, supply and demand. Thought Wyndham brand meant a decent product, so didn’t spend time reading reviews. My mistake! First room had such a strong smell of cleaning fluid we couldn’t breathe. Second was just no. Hole in the wall, The man at the desk was patient, explained that the rooms are old and it’s costly to pay for housekeeping and repairs. But

We spent 5 minutes in the room before deciding to leave. Smoke detector ripped off the wall. Multiple cigarette holes on the sheets, tattered sheets, holes in the wall, dirty bathroom, roaches, it also smelled bad.

People just hanging in the parking lot made it to sketchy I didn’t feel safe leaving my motorcycle and when I told the guy at the desk he said I could park inside the room which made me feel even more unsafe so I asked for a refund. Was told I couldn’t get one so in the end I paid for a room that I never stepped foot in

Non smoking rooms have very strong smoke smell and my clothes got ruined with the smell.

The room was dirty first of all. No trash can at all. Wifi cuts in and out, dirt all over the walls, holes found beer cans behind bed, smelled awful with having a non smoking room the green cover blankets covered in burn holes, i booked one night online and made another booking before 11 this morning to extend our stay another night, paid and everything, go down stairs to let him know we rebooked the room and to get a new room key and the man wanted us to completely check out, and come back to check in at 3 to check back into a room. Or pay an extra 20 dollars a day. Thats wrong out of all the hotels and years staying at different hotels this is the first. Tapked to the cops and the cops were on our side. They said the man likes to pick fights with people. Yes we know your pocketing the extra money you steal from people. Its sad the hotel room was gross. Can not believe the bathroom had dried blood on the wall! I had to disinfect the room and wipe everything down bc of how bad it was in our room. Out dated since 2001, its not a place anyone should stay at. Watch yourself because i seen in 8 hours 4 rounds of cops come through. Towels were completely over used and very hard!

This property is old. When I woke up, I thought it was 1989. It was fairly clean but most every surface had some degree of wear. Missing handles on the furniture and florescent lighting in the bathroom not working. workong(

The furnishing in the room was old and dirty, the bed clothes were wrinkled, the toilet tank cover didn't match the toilet tank. There were people hanging out in the parking area that made me feel unsafe.

As soon as I walked into the room, the terrible smell of cigarettes hit my face like a ton of bricks. I was immediately nauseous. When I turned on the barely bright buzzing light, it was like a horror show. The floor was stained. The window shades were stained. The pillows were stained the blankets were stained the sheets were stained. Trying to turn the water on in the sink was almost impossible, and the water would pool in the sink with debris coming up from the piping. The toilet was broken, and the shower looked like it had not been cleaned in decades. I turned around left the room and found another hotel. On the way out, there was somebody, probably a schizophrenic person, yelling in descriptively at nobody. There were people doing drugs with their toddlers running around. There was trash everywhere in the parking lot. Would not recommend this place to anybody, spend a few extra dollars and get somewhere as far away from this place.

Terrible hotel! We opened the refrigerator in the first room we were assigned and there was a live cockroach in it. That same room had multiple burn hole so in the comforter. We got a new room that was closer to the front desk. In addition rj the first room being a dump, it was isolated in the back of the building. I was with my husband and still felt uncomfortable. The new room was barely better. The smoke detector was ripped from the wall. There were three lamps in the room and only one worked. I could not get my charger plug to stay in the wall outlet by the bed. Had to plug it in across the room. No coffee. No tea. The towels were terrible. It would have been a one star except the bed was ok and sheets were clean. The place was so beat up and neglected. I do not recommend it. See photos from the “good” room.

I didn’t even check in. It was sketchy and there were 3 cops around the building and a guy asking for change. The staff was outside smoking and made me wait 5 minutes before even talking to anyone.

The bed was clean I needed a first floor they wanted to put me on the 2nd with no elevator and can't do stairs. So the room they gave us was nasty something stuck on the floor bathroom shower nasty spread did have cigarette burn holes in it. Not such a welcoming smell either. O I even had to go down to the office to get toilet paper there was none in the room

Everything they offer is not what it was supposed to be. The pool was closed and the whole area was dirty and messy. The room had stains on the walls and doors, everything was untidy. The cleaning was done, but the structural damage overshadowed everything.

Parking lot was full of crack dealer! The room was full of mold. Staff haha well they was as bad as the shack they rented. No refund the pool was closed with trees growing in it I give this place a zero. Please take my word it’s disgusting!

They have stray cats all in the office. The staff looks like he was on some sort of drug. Not to mention the 3 rooms I enter all had roaches crawling around. Now, with the negatives. Very uncomfortable bed, woke up with lower back pain after both nights. TV didn't work. Very uncomfortable chairs. Bathrooms were just weak. Water temperature for the shower was difficult to control, often felt I was gonna scold myself with how hot the water got. Toilet was difficult to flush, having to press on the tank cover to get it to flush without breaking the flush lever. Nightstands and table looked old and outdated. Wall trim was chipped in several areas. Room looked less than plain, just pale and pathetic. Oh, and it looked like another individual (or 2) looked to be living in a room as a regular home. No access to the pool, despite it being the summertime. For what I paid for the room for 2 nights, it truly felt like a rip-off. Roanoke is a great place to visit. The hotel, however, does the city no favors. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Despite the friendly service and good internet access, I will not stay at this hotel again. Next time I'm in Roanoke, I'll stay somewhere else in or around the area.

We reserved a room online and we were refused service or a hotel room as well as a refund. The staff were blatantly prejudiced and the most unprofessional and unfriendly creatures I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. The same staff works at the Super 8 right down the road from them. Stay in a box on the side of the road, the homeless shelter or just throw your money in the air as confetti before wasting it here!!

The hotel was very old and rundown. Check-in went smoothly but when we got to the room, there were no towels or wash cloths and no trash can. I had to drive back around to the front office and was given one towel and washcloth and plastic bags for my trash. The gentleman was nice and apologized for not having more towels but blamed it on housekeeping not being there on the weekend. Other than that, the stay was uneventful.

For starters, the room was a double bed and I booked a king size. The room was not clean. The washcloths wasn't clean and no towels. When requested them they was never bought. The TV did not work and the sink was broken so couldn't turn on water. This is not the same hotel I visited before. Will never return

We didn't really have any big complaints because you get what you pay for. The beds were stiff. Not for people with nerve or joint problems. The A/C in one of our rooms was iffy. THE POOL WAS CLOSED IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER! But hey. We had a place to sleep and a roof over our heads for our trip and like I said, you get what you pay for.

It is really a low-end property and was listed as almost a 6 on expedia. Really run down and unkept. Holes in the blankets, rust around all the mirrors and generally felt abandoned.

Who is decent and overall you can tell it’s an older building so you can take the good with bad and you can tell that it’s been upgraded and remodeled, but priorities are priorities in some priorities need to take care of for others when I pay for a king size suite on the very end all by itself I at least expect clean items whether it be towels, sheets, pillowcases, or blankets I myself know that, and I’ve never whether it be sheets, towels, blankets, or whatever when they get too bad you were to throw them out and replace themMy blanket literally had burn holes in stains, make up stains, figuring out polish paint there were cigarette butts under my bed. The exhaust fan in the restroom did not work. The refrigerator or freezer did not work. And even though I booked this ticket same day for the hotel hotel I booked it early in the morning and we didn’t get there till after 5 o’clock. I feel like they should’ve had more than enough time to at least stock it clean it with it mop it do something make it look like it’s clean There’s not even a damn TV in the living room just sitting there watching a blank wall !! There was no baggies to go inside of the ice bin the drink machine and the snack machine was not filled up. I had no coffee pot!! and only one will it paper. We haasEdobetterd two adults staying overnight with only two towels and one wash walls, but you all gave us four things of sham/soap! Plep

The room was supposed to be non-smoking, but it reeked of cigarette smoke. The TV remote did not work. I had to have the front desk guy come to get it working--he did not, so I could not change volume or on/off. The sink outside thew bathroom had a large crack in it. There was a wad of "something" on the floor in front of the toilet. Upon inspection, I concluded it was wallpaper from a 12" hole in the ceiling. I could see the pipes above. Pretty disgusting and very poor privacy/security. There was a family living in the room two doors down. They had two kids--no problem. But they also had adopted a colony of cats who were going in and out of the room. To add insult to injury, I requested on two occasions a wake-up call at 0400 so I could make an 0600 flight. Fortunately, I had two backups, because nobody called. Overall, a terrible experience.

And if you are briefly forced to,(as we were since our travel got bummed up and we arrived at 4am in Roanoke with no prior knowledge of this place and it was cheap and close) then make sure you NEVER leave your room unattended and be prepared for old bread and some jelly packets as their "SuperStart Breakfast" and be prepared for no housekeeping and be prepared for continuous "extra charges-cash only please" absolutely wretchedass. Period. I want my money back but since that ain't going to happen, I'll make sure corporate knows about what's really going on in that place. Smh. Awful.

I booked this room for a much-needed night away from kids as I’m a grandmother raising two toddlers. I booked this hotel because it said it had a pool and I thought what better way to relax then by the pool I get there I found out the pool is not open. OK that’s fine but then I enter my room room was very large air conditioner work great but that was the only good thing about the room holes and walls. Cigarette burns on the walls dirt build up in the corners of the room it had a bathtub with a shower and a walk-in shower in the walk-in shower had standing water that was brown. The table was fallen apart, baseboard coming off walls not to mention the electrical wiring hanging off a wall in the bathroom definitely would not stay there again the only reason I didn’t demand a refund is because I’ve booked it nonrefundable on hotels.com.

Everything was dirty. The curtains looked like they were completely chewed up. The ac unit was also loud and being held up by a car jack. The blankets had holes in them, the chairs were broken and the toilet was constantly running. The outside also wasn’t that nice - there were trash bags.

Checkin was fast and easy but the property smelled of weed and my non smoking room smelled of cigarettes. The floors around the baseboards were dirty and the bed was very creaky.

This place was awful. Cellings were falling down in walkways. Pet feces and urine were also in walkways. Room was very dirty, out of date, and in desprate need of repairs. Broken tiles in shower, cigarette burns on sink and comforters, walls covered in dirt and smudges, think dust on lighting fixtures, and my towels had black smudges on them. The pictures on the website are a false representation of what it really looks like.

This was the worst place I have ever stayed. There were people partying in the parking lot, smoking weed and throwing things at 10pm. The room I reserved through Expedia was still dirty when I walked in. The headboard was broken off of the bed and the toilet was broken. The handle was taped on with painters tape and the toilet had not been flushed from the previous "guests". While I was waiting to be switched to another room, someone else who was being switched told me their roof was leaking and there was water everywhere. I was switched to another room but even the walk to that room was terrible. There was dog poop in front of the doors and an overflowing bag of trash left outside of another. Also for a non smoking room this one smelled like an ashtray. Never. Staying. Here. Again. If you're reading this, run.

It was the worst experience of staying for 2 days. The blankets were terrible; there were cigarette holes in them. There was too much dust on the headboard, and the smell of cigarettes was horrible. Do not stay here, it's better to pay a little more for a different hotel.

It looked nothing like the pictures shown online—completely misleading. There were long-term residents with plants and personal belongings outside their doors, giving the property a rundown, unsafe atmosphere. I did not feel comfortable staying there. I left immediately and found other accommodations. This place should not be listed on Expedia or any reputable travel site.

The room was ok. There were several hand bars in the bathroom for bathing safely. The bathroom and sink area could use some updating/maintenance. Otherwise, it appeared clean.

Room reeked of cigarette smoke. Walls to thin. Room was a bit dusty.

I checked into a bottom floor room after checking the room I realized the toilet wouldn’t flush, the lighting was very dark, the tv wouldn’t work and the room was very dirty. After calling down to the front desk to let them be aware he asked me to get my stuff and everyone out of the room then he will move me. I went to get a new room and noticed several vacant rooms near next to us. After asking to keep us close to the room we had due to a lot of luggage he moved me to the other side of the building, 2nd floor. The next morning when checking out it was explained to the manager what happened and he cussed at us and said we only had a 4 luggage limit to bring into the room. Which was never stated to me either verbally or written. He said no refund and said he didn’t give a f..k

Staff was friendly, i slept in a non smoking room with cigarette holes in the bedding. not very clean.

For a Travelodge this was a dive motel. I would fire the housekeeper that signed off on this room. The mirrors were so dirty that you could see what the last occupants wrote on them. There were cigarette burns in both the bedspreads, (more than a few) and the shower curtain was stained and worn. Really I have no trouble with worn, but the dirty is where I draw the line, even if it’s for a quick sleep. The sheets were clean or we’d have been out of there. Do better Travelodge. A thorough cleaning, new shower curtains, and two new bedspreads would have changed this review into a three star, not a one.

We booked online and arrived in the night. The coverlets had burn marks in them, there were holes in the sheets and the mattress cover had a huge melted burn spot in it. When we asked for a different room we were met with the same as well as a strong smell of pot in the room. We also asked about blankets as none of the beds had any and were told that they do not provide blankets. Asked for a refund and was told no....left anyway. Do NOT book here!

This place has roaches it was dirty old dates guy at deals was nice enough but this place was nasty. Dead roach on the phone and half dead roach on the floor. There was garbage everywhere. Made my skin crawl

They said the system was down so they couldn't let me in even though I had my receipt I checked in 2 weeks ago my room was not ready my card was not ready they had nothing for me to sign this was the worst and counter I've ever had in my entire life I would never do business with them or you again

There is nothing I can say about this property other than it was a dump. The first room I was given was dirty and the bed looked like someone just slept in it. The second room was not very clean, there was mold in the shower, the sink cabinets were poorly repaired and the chair in the room had several stains on it. The stains on the chair were big and couldn't have been missed, it should have been thrown away and replaced.

The heater is not hot, there is no quilt, the service is very bad, if there is a zero score, I will not give it even one point, I suggest you do not stay in this hotel.

The rooms were dirty, the housekeepers don't know how to make a bed, and the general manager has no idea of hospitality...no second roll of tissue, the tubs are slippery...I fell in the shower and split my head open, no accident report available to file...after falling I was told I couldn't renew my room or extend my stay

It would of been ok. No outlets to charge phones or tablets... Had to pull bed off wall to find outlet... No tv remote ... I called front desk he said you have to just push buttons on tv ... That didn't work ... Bathroom wood not flush... Winter time no snow removed off of pavement at all slippery slippery ice every where.. in safe

Nobody ever was in office my róom was dirty cig burn in blanket toilet clogged 12 days and you can't find no body to fix once they came I used toilet once back to the same clogged toilet it's unsafe people yelling screaming police in 108 I mean I had the worse experience I couldn't even get someone at check out

On Expedia this place states that pets stay free, but when I checked in, I was told the pet fee is $20 per pet per day! And despite me showing them their listing on Expedia where it states pets are free, they would not honor this policy & made me pay an extra $20 to get my room! I booked here based on the listing saying no pet fees! And they would not let me cancel my reservation so I could go elsewhere. Total bait & switch! They should honor what it states on their listing!

The staff were extremely kind and friendly, room was very spacious with a separate shower and bathtub and 2 sinks, lots of room for multiple people to get ready for the day.

The whole room was disgusting there was popcorn on the mattress under the sheets The walls need painted The baseboard is coming off the wall The bathroom was disgusting there was a leak in the shower The caulking was dirty and gross The bathroom sink had chips taken out and looked like it was cut apart and push back together The TV did not have a remote it looked like the room was about 30 years out of date.

Our first room was a smoking room. He said they aren't as nice but we were ok with that. Noticed some water on the floor next to the bed and then the smell of poo filled the room. Water was coming up in the room next to the bed. We quickly packed up and went to the office. The next room, a non-smoking room was a little nicer but the bed was hard and the pillows were flat. Staff was nice.

I always stay here for convenience not the best but they have reasonable prices for a few nights or if you traveling and need to get rest thts it don’t expect much
