Beautiful!

What an incredible stay! Totally exceeded my expectations. The house is in a beautiful setting nestled in the hills next to beautiful properties and a beautiful golf course. The rooms are spacious and immaculate and the hosts go above and beyond. When I come back to Roanoke, I will definitely stay here! So peaceful and quiet just sitting on the balcony overlooking the pool and woods!

We were totally blown away by our stay in this property. The hotel is a little out of town which made it blissfully quiet but still very accessible to Roanoke with shops/restaurants. The rooms (think there are only 4??) are exceptionally large and very comfortable with a fridge and variety of seating in the rooms. The decor in the house is very quirky -very cleverly all car themed and totally fascinating. The pool is large, easily accessible and heated which was an unexpected bonus. The owners were incredibly hospitable and we loved sitting chatting to them while they cooked our breakfasts.( best breakfast we had on our trip) There are complimentary snacks and biscuits permanently available and a fridge with complimentary wine & beer. This was one of our favourite stays on our road trip from England and so much nicer than staying in one of the larger chain hotels. Thank you for making us so welcome.

The host and hostess helped us with luggage. They were available if needed, but not intrusive on guests' privacy. Several sitting areas, including an outside deck on all levels were available, a wide screen tv with many options for viewing, a large sitting area and kitchen table in the top floor room, plenty of hot water for showers, blackout shades, and a quiet setting in nature. A pool was also available. The breakfast was phenomenal with fresh apples and blueberries served with crepes. Food preferences were discussed upon arrival. There was also plenty of coffee, pumpkin bread, and wine and snacks in the afternoon. Parking was free and close. The grounds and country road allowed easy, safe walking. A golf course/club was nearby (not sure if it is open to the public) as well as the city of Roanoke with easy transit via Amtrak to Roanoke, but if you are not driving you will need a cab for a 15 minute drive to Shirley's Bed and Breakfast. You'll need to go into Roanoke for dinner, but it's close enough, about 15-20 min away.

The house is beautiful and spacious. The grounds are well kept and very nice to look at. Outside area by the pool needed some attention. Outdoor furniture was dirty.

Breakfast was very good. The apple pan dowdy was especially good along with the apple butter on the homemade bread/toast. The facilities were warm and comfortable. Enjoyed the logs and eclectic decorations. Would have liked to play the golf course near their home.

A remote but accessible location. Beautifully laid out with all the comforts of home. The hosts were fabulous and friendly and the whole experience was relaxing. Breakfasts were great and all items freshly baked.

Log cabin home with pool and mountain location. Room was perfect and food and hospitality exceptional.

We truly enjoyed our time there. The house was spotless and beautifully maintained. Its unique wooden style immediately gave us a warm feeling – something we are not so used to in Belgium. The creative interior with garage elements added a very special and original touch. We also want to thank you for your warm welcome and your helpfulness during our stay. Your kindness made our visit even more memorable.

This place looks nice in the pictures but it is much more amazing in person. We stayed in the La Vista room which was massive and had a lovely big bed and bath tub. We got to see a family of deer having their dinner as we soaked in the pool. The owners were there to greet us on arrival and were both friendly. They provided sweet snacks, tea, coffee and wine and they cooked us a delicious french toast breakfast in the morning. We actually wish we had stayed for more than one night

This place was an absolute gem! The house is charming and spotless, and the rooms are cozy with everything you might need. The hosts went above and beyond to make us feel at home — they are such kind, genuine people. Every morning we were treated to the most delicious homemade breakfast, and it truly felt like a special start to the day. The location is breathtaking, right in the mountains, with peaceful views all around. It’s the kind of place where you can completely unwind and forget about the rush of everyday life. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Private location, but still convenient to dining and shopping. The room was comfortable and everything was clean. The hosts were wonderful! Breakfast was delicious. We had a really great stay! We loved everything!

It was very pretty. Lots of animals around to visit.

It was a very nice 4-room log cabin set in a gorgeous, peaceful setting. We were sad we could only stay for one night. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious! The bed was so comfortable that I slept like a baby! I wish they had larger shampoo/conditioner and body wash installed on the shower wall as most hotels do these days. We were on a long road trip and didn't pack our own, so the tiny bottles and soap provided were not adequate.

The location is secluded and beautifully situated with a view of the mountains. The house is spacious and the classic automobile parts are clever. We enjoyed the pool. N/A

Beautiful location, clean, great ambience, attention to detail is evident Their website notes that in a log style cabin noise radiates. This, however, intensified sound. We stayed in the lower suite off the pool. A person walking normally over the floor was very loud as though they were stomping. There was a loud repeated popping noise, like a marble being thrown against lvp flooring. I'm fairly sure I heard someone tapping their toothbrush against the washbasin. All this late at night while trying to sleep. We were unable to partake in the breakfast as we had to leave early. Continental, grab and go breakfast would have been an added touch.

Absolutely amazing place. The loveliest owners, and just stunning. The rooms were huge, beds super comfy and breakfast was brilliant. We stayed here on a roadtrip of the US and were gutted we didn't have more time to spend there. Will be sure to stay again in the future for a longer period of time and really get to enjoy it to it's fullest. Thanks so much guys x

Incredible stay at Shirleys. Such a beautiful house and so comfortable. Felt so welcome and hosts are amazing and we didn't want to leave. Breakfast was so delicious ? Best stay we have had! Would love to come back in the summer.

Great place with friendly staff, we really enjoyed our visit. Given it is a bit out of the way from the city center and hard to find, the price is a bit on the higher side. Breakfast was delicious, however it would have been nice if there was a healthier savory option.

Shirley's is a really wonderful experience! It has a countryside setting near the mountains. The suites are large and beautifully decorated, and Sheryl and Jeff are perfect hosts. After a long drive to Roanoke, I was happy to be welcomed with homemade apple pie and a cooler of wine. The full breakfast (included) was a FULL breakfast!

Mr and Mrs Bennett greeted is when we arrived, showed us around and let us explore. The property is rural, quiet, clean, and just stunningly beatiful. Mr Bennett is a car and motorcycle enthusiast, as I am, and he graciously showed us some of his favorite treasures. We are from Philadelphia traveling to see family. I'm now looking for an excuse to come this way again so we can stay at Shirley's.

This was an absolute hidden treasure . Gail took such good care of us entire stay. The place was so beautiful and in a great location to local eateries . I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we will be returning. This was by far my favorite Bed and Breakfast I have visited .

Shirley's was a really special stay. Beautiful and comfortable bed and breakfast. Pool overlooking nature in the back. Wonderful breakfast with friendly owners. I really loved it!

The place was spotless and service incredible (and friendly). The only unfortunate thing was the fact that the only entrance to the bathroom was by walking through one of the two bedrooms (too bad there wasnt a hall entrance, or make a second entrance from the second bedroom). Nice and quiet, and loved seeing deer on the property, as well as a mountain view!

Swimming pool outside your bedroom door, overlooking forested hills, with birds and deer in the yard? Check. Thoughtful hosts working hard to keep a clean and welcoming home, with a to-order breakfast? Check and check. Seriously, I thought about not writing a review, to keep this place under the radar. It’s that good.

Everything about our stay was excellent, although the bed was much too high for my wife to climb into. That's the only thing that will put us off returning in future. Pre-stay communications were excellent and helpful. Breakfast was very tasty. People were very friendly and helpful.

Great property. Cheryl and Jeff were great hosts. We had the room on the lower level that made for easy access to our car and we walked out of our room to a patio and the pool area. First rate - and a great breakfast.

I arrived tired and hungry and was expecting a restaurant on the property since it was listed on amenities, So I was disappointed that I had to drive to a local tavern for a burger. I'd love to come back when the pool is open! The property is great but the weather wasn't so I didn't get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. On the other hand, breakfast was phenomenal and the hosts were wonderful!!

If you're ever in the Roanoke area, this is THE place to stay. Beautiful log home, just off the Blue Ridge Pkwy., converted in to a B&B with large private rooms. Gorgeous setting and very quiet. The owners were wonderful and did everything possible to make sure I was made comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and cooked fresh by the owners while we enjoyed conversation sitting around the island. They make you feel like you're part of the family here. Believe me, you won't be disappointed with your stay.

We stayed here at the beginning of our road trip. The house is beautiful with a lovely swimming pool and huge bedroom. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts very friendly.

Shirley's B&B is amazing! Super friendly and helpful (but not nosy or overwhelming) hosts, very clean and comfortable rooms, so many excellent amenities, delicious and very filling breakfasts, and a perfect location near the Blue Ridge Parkway and Roanoke. I didn't take advantage of so many of the amenities - the free drinks, pool, and I'm sure others. Shirley and Jeff have truly made this a home away from home - there's water, snacks, drinks in the fridges, the rooms are impeccably clean, the bed was SO comfortable. I can't think of a single complaint

Shirley's B&B is a home away from home, with lush green landscape, a heated pool, a suite larger than most livingrooms. The Breakfasts were always delicious and more than I could eat. Cheryl and Jeff thought of every detail to make sure our stay was memorable.

Cheryl and Jeff make you feel at home from the time you pull up until the time you depart. Upon arrival there is complimentary coffe,tea,water, beer and wine plus snacks. The lodge and views were gorgeous. Cheryl’s breakfast was amazing.

I’ve done quite a few BNB stays and this I must say is the best I’ve ever experienced! The facility was outstanding. The location was exactly what we were looking for in the mountains. The service was amazing. A perfect stay for us and to top it off we received about eight inches of snow which made it even more enjoyable. Top notch!

Simply perfection! This is the most amazing place, beautiful rooms, amazingly delicious food and top notch hosts. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left Cheryl and Jeff treated us like family. They had the best suggestions for place to go and things to do AND the entire stay was just amazing. We are already thinking about when we will go back and who we will treat to this place next. I can't reccomend it strongly enough.

Shirley’s was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed at. The hosts Jeff and Cheryl couldn’t do enough to make us happy. If was immaculate, spacious, interesting, welcoming, comfortable and warm. Breakfast was delicious and abundant. It raised the bar for us. We’ll be back for sure!

The place is big and beautiful!! Cheryl and Jeff are the best! We stayed 2 nights at the b&b, the healthy breakfasts in the most adorable dishes was fabulous. We LOVED our suite, the Lookout. Everything was just perfect!! We were able to have guests visit with no problem. This will be our new home away from home.

Great stay at Shirley's Bed and Breakfast. Cheryl and Jeff are so friendly and helpful. Rooms were super clean and the breakfast was delicious. Spent two nights there with friends and lounged by the pool for some time. Took suggestions from Jeff for restaurants for dinner both nights and both were exactly what we were hungry for. We hope to go back if our travels take us near Roanoke.

Jeff and Cheryl were like good friends the moment we met them. Their B&B is just beautiful, the setting is very relaxing and the pool is pristine! Everything is set up for guests to be comfortable and have anything they might need - from refreshments to towels. Breakfast was outstanding - my husband and I cleaned our plates each morning.
