Very kind and helpful personel, the lady at front desk helped us with a minor inconvenience (TV remote didn't work). She came in our room and make sure everything was in order Everything was ok

It was clean & quiet, the staff was friendly and it felt more like a studio apartment than a hotel room. Was satisfied & will be staying here again when I return to Roanoke.

Coffee is a no go (room and lobby). Only complaint we had but the rooms were nice. Decent size. Cute kitchen space and plenty of areas to relax, read, watch tv and cook/eat. Mall, shopping area and lots of restaurants around the hotel area within walking distance. Definitely would stay again.

While everyone was very helpful and the hotel was in a great location our room was old, stained rugs and couch’s. Outdated appliances and the room had a smell!

It was easy to get too. It was clean. The rooms were big and spacious. But I was there less than 12 hours The highway was there so you could hear the traffic, the cost could have been cheaper for staying less than 12 hours.

We rented this for family. This room had more space than the other which was nice. Good chain restaurants nearby.

We didn't do any real cooking just reheating leftovers and coffee and toast for breakfast. It was great for that. There were restaurants very close. We enjoyed the bar/kitchen table.

Everything was great except there was a smell of weed in the hall way. Rooms where very spacious and shopping and restaurant was close by 4min drive to all those places.

This was absolutely the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had in Roanoke. Each morning, those loud noises around 6 AM. I finally called down to the front desk and spoke to someone named Shelly/Shelby. Not sure what she said her name was however she was very unhelpful. She asked me what the noise was. If I knew, I wouldn’t have to call her. Very disruptive stay I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. She did not offer to let me speak with a manager or to see what was going on. She asked me if she could get me into another room. I told her after the fourth day, it was time for me to just leave. I left around 7 AM to head back on a three hour trip with no sleep.

The room was spacious. The kitchen was well set up. The staff was super friendly.

Great place with a kitchen and living area. Larger than the regular hotel room, so it is perfect for longer stays. My room was clean, quiet and comfortable. That’s all I ask of my hotel rooms. I’ll be sure to stay here again.

I have stayed at Mainstay Hotel for several years when traveling to Roanoke, Va. I have enjoyed staying there and feel safe. I have loved the suites , too. The hotel needs to be renovated and remodeled.

The suite was amazing, The beds were so soft, It was like sinking. Place was well organized and spacious, It was the perfect suite after a long trip. 10/10, I would recommend.

Easy to get to, convenient, quit I like the layout like a condo I like a lil softer bed. It's dated and needs to up updated, they do not serve breakfast of any kind.

This hotel was very convenient from I-81 and the family suite was exactly what our family of 5 and 1 dog needed. The staff was courteous and accomodating. I had to go to the lobby to ask for the sheets to the pull-out couch, but they had them ready to go and they were clean. Shower was hot and the beds were comfortable enough. Breakfast was not included at this hotel, but that is understandable considering the price, and there were plenty of good food options nearby. Our dog also enjoyed the open field across the street to run and go potty.

The property was ok and a decent value. My issue is with communication between the hotel and Expedia. I am not sure who is to blame but Expedia listed the pet fee as $25. When I checked in for 1 night, I was charged a pet fee of $52. When I questioned it, I was told there was nothing they could do about the discrepancy and that no management was available to speak to but that I could see them in the morning. In the morning, I was once again told that no management was available but that they would pass my concern on. We chose the property partly due to the advertised pet fee so am not happy and no one seems to care. I will not stay here again.

Mainstay Suites has been a perfect option for my daughter as she competes for Miss Virginia. It is quiet, but only 8 minutes away from the competition at Hotel Roanoke or the Berglund Center. Also…there is plenty of room for all the clothes she needs to bring for pageant week! The staff was excellent, responsive, and accommodating!

Room service is not daily. When the housekeeper arrived we were still in bed. I spoke to her and we agreed she would return by 11 am. It never happened. I had to collect our towels take them to the front and collect my own towels. Not what I want to do when I am not home.

We stayed just for a few hours before catching an early flight. Room was great. Very clean and very spacious. It was like an apartment with a full kitchen and living area. My wife liked the wide bathtub. Bed was comfy. 5 minutes from airport. We’d definitely stay again.

Only major issue was the TV. I had to ask the front desk how to get it on and apparently you have to unplug it for 10 minutes and then plug it back in for it to work. So that definitely needs updated, as well as the TV size. They are also in the process of making some changes/upgrades so the reception area was bare and coffee stuck on a little white fold out table. Luckily the coffee in the room was better than most hotels we've stayed. So overall, we were pleased and would more than likely stay again (after the upgrades/renovations).

Very nice and spacious suite. Our room was not ready when we checked in but the staff worked to allow us to use a different room so that we could shower and rest up from our traveling prior to heading back out to the Virginia Tech football game. Our room was ready before we left and it was perfect. Thank you so much!

The staff here were delightful. The front desk receptionist and the shuttle driver were just lovely people. However, that is all I can say about this place. It is old and my room was gross. There were stains on the ceiling, dust on the walls, it smelled like fast food. All the furniture and appliances ripped, stained, spotted, etc. It's very old and overpriced for the condition it's in. There are many airport hotels, I would choose another for my next stay.

I Did not get the room I reserved had on the 1st floor, was told because it was a ‘dog room’ and Was given another room on the 4th floor which was not the type I reserved, mentioned that and was moved to another room, still on the 4th floor. The bottom shelf was broken but I found a way to fix it. Asked for extra pillows but never heard back. The coffee was like motor oil, nearly the complete opposite of what one would normally get at a hotel. Overall, the experience was just ok.

This hotel is very run down and poorly managed. The reviews I read were fantastic, so we had no idea how junky this place would be. We couldn’t stay there, had to get a refund and find another place about midnight. No fun!

We have stayed at Mainstay for many years and have appreciated the convenience and the layout of the rooms! We are just a short drive from everything we need in Roanoke!

The gentleman that checked us in was so friendly and provided excellent service. However that’s basically where the excellence stopped. The hotel was so outdated, the room smelled incredibly musty and moldy. The shower head was horrible and dirty—water flow was outrageously strong to the point that my kids were scared to take a shower.

The location is very good. Our tv went out and we were told to unplug it for 10 minutes and then plug it back in. It was something to do with the weather.

I booked this hotel months in advance for a tournament trip. We got to the hotel late, around 9:30 and walked into a “party” in the lobby complete with guests screaming, TONS of empty alcohol containers on the “breakfast table area” and intoxicated people everywhere. We were given our room and headed upstairs to escape the noise. Immediately walking in, the smell of dog/cat urine would knock you down! Went to the front desk where we were told that there was 1 room left, but there was a small stain on the couch. We walked in and this is what we found. The floor was littered with stains, the couch was literally black with filth and the smell was nauseating. We contacted hotels.com and were told since we had checked in the hotel would be responsible for our refund. They apparently had nobody onsite to do so, so we left and spent the next 3 hours searching for another room and paying an additional $200 for the night there. By 12:45, my daughter was sleeping in the lobby of another hotel before it was finally arranged for us to downgrade to a Best Western. The Best Western and their half the cost room blew Mainstay out of the water. I warn you, stay away from this hotel at all costs!!!!!

The property was poorly maintained. Several items in the room were broken or in poor working condition including shower door, closet doors, small appliances, and outlets. We had to change rooms because of a terrible smell in the first room, thankfully the second room that was offered was much better. The hallways on all 4 floors smelled terribly as well. Key card slots in side entry doors were not working requiring us to walk around the building for entry each time. The front desk staff the first night was friendly and accommodating but the second night she was easy located and rude.

Very convenient and was glad to have a mini kitchen in the room.

The suite was clean, spacious , and quiet. We will stay here again.

Wonderful sized rooms, including full kitchen. Comfortable for 5 of us (2 teens plus 3 adults.) Staff was friendly and accommodating. Coffee served 24/7 in the lobby, including cappuccino/hot chocolate machine. Located very close to many restaurants and shopping centers/stores plus a large mall.

When I walked into the room it had a strong mildew smell. The bath tub was dirty, the shower head was not glued to the wall exposing the glue. When using the tub's hot water it makes the shower head run.

Staff was friendly and professional. Facility was clean. Room was spacious. Area seemed safe.

Great stay!! Will consider coming back here in 2 weeks to interview again!

Very pleased stay here two weeks ago and came back for family matters from the front desk to the housekeepers they all greet you and are very friendly

When we walked into the lobby and the clerk had her head down napping at the front desk, she was polite and gave us a key to a non-smoking room.. We walked into the room and it smelled like an ash tray.. We went back to see her, explained the situation and she gave us another room... Went into the 2nd room and it wasn't clean, bed messed up, etc... The 3rd room was acceptable, we stayed, came back the next day and the room hadn't been cleaned... Apparently they only clean the rooms every 3 days or so, we were told it's an extended stay location... We don't recall being told that...No breakfast included.. Accommodations are fair at best... It served the purpose but we will not stay there again... (They did give us a small discount for the two night we were there)...

A fairly standard offering on the budget end of the spectrum. Unremarkable in every way.

Awful time. Took an hour or more to check in because the hotel didn’t have my reservation from hotels.com. The room was old and gross. And way too expensive for a crappy hotel in a crappy town. And hotels.com did nothing to help me. I will never use Expedia or hotels.com again. Even the hotel staff advised me not to use Expedia or hotels.com as they were “one of the worst”

Lach of parking, more worker stay than tourist

Over all this hotel is ok. Check in took a while and was not a quick process. No breakfast available. There were coffee and tea in the lobby but twice we went to get coffee but it was either not working or empty. Stains on the sheets, shower had soap grunge and foam from soap or something on the ceiling of the shower. Bathroom overall was not the cleanest. Couch is extremely uncomfortable. The people in the room next to us were very loud, screaming and carrying on late into the night past 1am. We tried going to the front desk, calling the desk and no one was every available or answered.

The staff was super friendly. The hotel itself was extremely dated and the couch was very stained. We did stay in a pet room but it was still very uncleanly looking.

It was a clean nice stay with a giant bathtub, large room, comfortable beds with a nice view of the mountains.

The room smelled terrible. There were stains all over the cushions on the sofa bed, and the air conditioning didn’t cool the room. I wouldn’t stay at that Mainstay ever again. I paid for 3-nights, but my boys and I didn’t stay the third night due to the condition of the room. I will reach out to Dominion Lodging and share my experience with Dave and Craig Anderson.

I usally dont leave reviews but.... First off i will say the staff were all very nice and helpful. The room was outdated, air conditioning was terrible room temperature would not go below 76 degrees no matter what you set the wall mounted thermostat to, we had to purchase a fan for our 2 night stay juat to make the room tolerable. The room smelled terrible which i think was mainly due to the room temperature. We had a double sofa bed that had no linens or pillows for anyone to sleep on. Definetely my worst experience with any choice hotel.

I loved the layout of the suites, plenty of room for me and my family. The carpet and (especially recliner that has a worn out, hard on the eyes spot where the head rests) need to be replaced. I wish info on repavement of the front parking was available during booking, because we had a difficult time finding a spot when we arrived. Overall, my stay was enjoyable and I would stay there again. Thank you!

I had a reservation for this hotel and when I showed up to check in (after talking to someone from the front desk earlier same day and letting them know I will have a late check in, as I was finishing helping my son moving off campus) the lady simply told me, your reservation has been cancelled and we don’t have any room for you. It was almost 10 pm and she simply said you need to call Expedia and have them help you find a hotel! Really? I paid and made this reservation almost one month or so ago and she just told me I didn’t have a room for that night. Not very satisfied with their approach as one of their employees was the one who cancelled my reservation, yet I had to go find myself a hotel for that night.

Really need better staff. Everyone we talked to were extremely lazy and acted like we where an inconvenience from screwing with their cell phones or eating. Also, our room smelled so bad of bleach. Will not stay there again.

I think the lobby needs to be updated to look cleaner and brighter. Also the breakfast/lounge area was always dark with few lights on and unwelcoming. It made me think it must be dirty or something to keep the lights that low. Overall the location was great, staff was nice, and room had everything we needed for the price. Maybe a little more noise cancelling between rooms.

The Staff Was So Nice And Friendly. It was easy to check in and check out. It was a very nice hotel. And it was clean. I only issue we had is that it didn't have breakfast. Thanks so much
