Quality Inn Riverside near UCR and Downtown

It's good for the price we paid. It's dated. The rooms were semi-clean. Worn carpet. One of the beds was unusable. The mattress was very old.

This was a ok place of your in and out of the area. Staff was so so and key card didn’t work half the time.

The room was dirty, some of the outlets didn’t work, the bathroom was nasty. The bathroom walls had drip lines all over the walls around the toilet was dirty and the tub was very worn. The mattresses were terrible. They were so worn out that they had a permanent slope to them. I was fighting rolling of the bed all night because it was so sloped.

The property from the front looks nice, everything behind the front office is questionable. There are people living in their cars on the back end of the hotel, people appeared to be living in the hotel long term. It was not a comfortable experience, the inside is old and rundown.

Such a nice friendly place. The breakfast buffet had many options and it was very good. The staff at check in and around the lobby made us feel comfortable. The shower pressure was amazingly amazing lol! I always stay at a Hilton or Marriott but this time I chose this hotel because it was closer to my family. I was pleasantly surprised at the space and comfort. I will definitely stay here again.

Clean. Had to ask for toilet paper and towels. They clean rooms every 3 days. Some staff were courteous others not so good. Int reservations called for a handicap room with 2 queen beds or 1 king bed with a sofa bed. I ended up with the 1 king bed, a chair I asked for a roll-away bed, they had none available so my care giver had to sleep on the floor, no carpet and they gave her two blankets and a pillow. The bed was lumpy and sleeping was not good.

The location was perfect for our activities! The room and grounds needs a little TLC. We did encounter 2 cockroaches in our bathroom area!!! The breakfast could use a little variety. Scrambled eggs and bacon would have been a nice change and maybe some sweet rolls/bread.

It’s purely for a bed and shower. You are not here for comfort or luxury. I saw used condoms on the ground. Spiderwebs on the stairs. I never had my room cleaned or trashed emptied. I dunno if it was a call for it or what. Mystery stains on the walls maybe mold who knows. Toilet clogged and they did come up and help fix that. Breakfast they lock the front doors so you have to enter a side door. Pretty sure a homeless couple were there taking hoards of food. They hogged the waffle maker and spilled their multiple coffee cups as they made their escape. Heck the male tried to take the crumb tray!! Parking didn’t feel safe or secure. ESP with the dirt lot next door. Again. This is just a cheap simple hotel. Also no elevators.

Catfish of a property. I am not sure why majority of the reviews on this hotel were positive. I understand you get what you pay for, but this stay was just bad. The area around the property gets sketchy at night. My stay was supposed to be 3 nights, but I checked out just after one. The room was poor. There were cigarette burns in the floor, paint feeling from the walls. The bathroom had mold. Towels had a weird smell. The entire room just felt dirty and gross. Beds were uncomfortable and the AC was loud and had a odor. I did not eat the free breakfast, however I did pass by it. The women restocking the bread did not have on any gloves. Pool did look "clean" did not use. Staff was nice, I will give them that. Save your money.

The room itself looked like something straight out of a sleazy 90s motel scene. To make matters worse, the guests in the room next door were loud enough to make the experience even more unpleasant. Cleanliness was clearly not a priority. The carpets were covered in strange pink and purple stains, and sections of carpet were completely missing near the bathroom. The nightstands were sticky and stained, and there was a chair and foot rest in the room that were also covered in mysterious marks. Honestly, we were afraid to put any of our belongings on the room's surfaces until we had thoroughly sanitized everything ourselves. The bathroom was by far the worst part. The shower head was so heavily calcified that it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The bath mat was peeling up from the floor, exposing brown adhesive underneath, which was both unsightly and unsanitary. What makes this even more frustrating is the price. We paid $103 for a single night and were also charged a $100 deposit. For over $200 upfront, this place is nowhere near acceptable. The condition of the property is embarrassing, and it feels like management has completely given up on basic maintenance, cleanliness, and guest comfort. Save your money...

They treated me very well helped me with a couple of issues and made my stay as comfortable and pleasant as I could’ve ever asked for! They genuinely deserve 10 stars, but I can only give them five! They made a special occasion with my daughter very special! Highly recommend

The room did need quite a bit of maintenance done as our toilet lid was loose and a few other things were broken. And sadly one of the boilers had broken down a day before due to high winds leaving us with no hot water during the day and majority of the night. But overall the hotel was in a perfect spot with good lighting at night and lovely breakfast included in the morning. Would definitely stay here again and do recommend for a quick weekend stay

This Quality Inn your basic, no frills accommodation that looks like it could use some sprucing up. Apparently the present owners are looking to sell the property so any improvements would be borne by the new owners. The room has a single king bed (comfy), air conditioning (worked well keeping the room at a comfy temp), a bathroom (with shampoo and conditioner), vanity (with blow dryer, coffee maker), wardrobe (with clothes hangers, iron and ironing board), fridge, microwave, flat screen tv and a lounge area with an easy chair. Basic amenities. Room is spacious but carpet is worn in areas. The bath tub and shower head looks like someone tried to do a botched repair job. The shower works which is a plus. Breakfast is meh but better than nothing. Parking is free (another plus) and plentiful. There is a pool (another plus) but I didn’t use it. Location is walking distance to a lot of good restaurants and grocery stores. Essentially, it’s your basic inn with no frills.

When we checked into our first room we found a condom rapper in the sofa bed. We had our 14 year old son with us. That was embarrassing and disgusting. We were given another room but the rest of the time we were not comfortable and he slept in his clothes with an extra blanket we brought from home over the bed because he was disgusted and creeped out. Then when we needed something like extra towels we had to go and get them ourselves all the way to the lobby instead of someone bringing to us.

The parking was not good, we couldn’t fin any spot close to the room, no à big problem, but the bath tube was in not good condition, it was peeling off but instead fix it, they cover with something, it was the only thing I didn’t like, breakfast was ok.The room was clean.

It looks dirty all around--dirty walkways, peeling paint in bathtub, coffee maker did not work, remote for TV did not work, there were some rickety fixtures---this place needs more maintenance care, especially on walkways that need water blast cleaning. Property is a little older so not easy to get really clean. Breakfast was good and most staff was friendly and accommodating. I recommend putting your things away each day. We had some clothing taken with the dirty towels and they were unable to find it. They did nothing to help.

The outside walkways were dirty and lot of debris. Looked like hadn’t cleaned or power sprayed in a long time. Inside carpet coming up, shower handle fell off several times. Toilet required at least 4-5 minutes to refill to flush. TV control would only allow me to scroll 3-channels and then freeze up. Took min of 1- minute to be able to try again. This happened every time I tried to change channel or volume. Positive bed was fantastic. Had great night sleep.

It was a quick stay just to have a place to sleep overnight. It was fair enough for the price of the room. Although, the occupants next room has their door open and I can hear the baby crying in the hallway for quite some time but I was too tired, I just want to have a place to lay on.

Hotel was clean, smelled good when I walked in, had everything I needed. Bed was very comfortable. The free breakfast was good. Over all I had a very comfortable stay I would definitely recommend staying here.

I feel that my stay could have been better, minus the fighting all night and kids running up and down the walkway, and waking up to roaches in my food and on a nightstand, I had to throw everything away, and they only discounted one day off of my stay, which it should’ve been the whole thing paid for by them, and the only reason why I checked into that hotel because they had a seven star review, and it was close to family!

Police responded to a call in one of the rooms. People loud in the rooms, walking in and out all night. I recommend going elsewhere!

After I checked in, I visited the pool which was uncleaned and full of debris. Upon returning to my room, there was a maintenance worker inside that startled me. The manager called and apologized. I tried to take a shower and the water that came out smelled like sewage. Then I noticed the black mold on the walls in the bathroom. I should’ve checked out immediately, but I had a work function to attend. Returning later in the evening, I was met by several cockroaches on the walls and one on the bed. I almost never leave reviews, but this hotel is an actual public health hazard.

The room had a bad smell and it seems like I wasn’t the only one. As I was waiting to check in, the attendants that were there were making fun of the previous guest. They were saying that he complained about the odor yet he came back. Apparently there is a problem with a smell in the rooms. There was also a vehicle park with signs that said homeless and they need it money

One of the nights we stayed in two different rooms and the floor was sticky from a soda spill or something liquid sticky try to get the housekeeper’s help, but they did not understand. English went to the office. The gentleman at the front desk grabbed a mop and mop the floor for us still ended up finding several sticky spots, but the fact that he jumped right in I really appreciated it.

this place is a maintenance hazard away from a lawsuit. the microwave cord shorts out the outlet affecting the tv the sink was coming apart the shower curtain doesn't cover the tub so water goes all over the floor. the door to pool doesn't work, the gym equipment is broken and unsafe. the front desk staff are unfriendly. I could write a dissertation on how terrible this place is. I wish I could get a refund on this stay as it was one of the worst hotels I've ever been at. the security rides around blasting music during the day and night. It seems like most the staff don't care at all.

I am writing regarding my recent stay at your hotel from February 20 through February 23, 2026. Upon checking in, the room appeared not to have been properly made up. Additionally, the shower was not functioning. When I informed the staff and requested another room, I was told that none were available and that the shower would be fixed. I went out for the day and returned to find that the shower had not been repaired. At that point, I was given a different room; however, the shower in the second room also did not work and only produced cold water. Thank you for your attention to this matter. The bath tub looked horrible, like it was never cleaned. There was hair in the tub out of the tub and grime hand prints on the walls of the bathroom. We were never notified of the water being shut off and could not shower. When I called down they said it was for 20 mins ams it was 3 hours. We had to cancel our outing plans. As well as my kids did not know the toilet would nOt flush and had to poop on top of poop and it sat there for 3 hours till could be flushed. We booked 4 nights and stayed 1. We checked out, and were so disappointed. I asked about what can be refunded and they told me none. 350$ down the drain.

Positives-The staff i interacted with were great. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast set up was great. Negatives- property had trash strewn everywhere outside, there was hair on the shower walls, and the only outlet in the bathroom, anywhere close to a mirror, was broken and non functional. No way to use the hair dryer.

There was no hot water in the hotel. We were notified of this on the night of our check in. Why didn't the hotel notify guests in advance so other arrangements could be made. There was mold on the bathroom walls. Not ideal even for an economy motel.

The room was clean. A little bare bones and the carpet was old and worn thru in a couple places, but we weren’t there to lay on the floor so it was fine. SMALL flatscreen and the fridge and microwave worked. The beds are not what we expected, which were two queens and we got full size beds. A little sketchy and I felt like I had to keep checking on my car while in the room. They have breakfast!! oh and coffee, no creamer tho, and the sausage patties weren’t cooked all the way through so they were cold in the middle, but they have a waffle maker, and it was hit and fresh and yummy! But for some odd reason they keep the butter packets frozen, so trying to spread it on the toast or the waffle just gave me a shredded piece of toast and a torn waffle. Still good tho. There’s a food4less a short walk away for creamer and spreadable butter but otherwise, it was good. The night staff were AWESOME, welcoming and didn’t make me feel like it was an inconvenience checking in a little later than normal. All in all, it met our needs for a room in a lunch, and if I need a room in the future on short notice, we’ll definitely return. Just need bigger beds.

Even though they did have to shut down the water for a few hours during our stay and you can only access the rooms from the outside, they made up for everything with the customer service and the breakfast was one of the best I have had at an hotel. Juice, coffee, waffle machine, options to make sausage, egg, and cheese McMuffin, cereal, and more.

The room also had a strong unpleasant smell, like someone had smoked in it before, which was especially concerning since we were traveling with a young child. On top of that, the walls were very thin—we could clearly hear noise from the next room, including people doing things that were inappropriate for children to overhear. Overall, it was a very uncomfortable stay for our family.

The staff was extremely understanding. The cleaners took care to clean the room even folding towels decoratively. The motel is older than I expected , but the staff couldn’t have been better.

The room was well-worn. The water and the heater were very slow and difficult to control. One evening when we returned, the INDOOR lock had engaged and we had to get the manager’s assistant to come open our door; he had then to go to another unit to fix the same problem. It apparently occurs frequently as they were well trained. The last morning at 6:45 am, a chainsaw operation commenced. Obviously in violation of local noise rules, but the manager took no action.

Room door was hard to open. Then it wouldn’t close all the way. The room didn’t feel clean. Asked then to get room switch and claimed they sold out. Found maggots in the sink. Still no remedy to situation or attempt to make it better. The area had other loud tenants and interruptions at night. The room had little circulation and was stuffy even with the a/c on.

Room I stayed in definitely needed some attention, loud music from other guests at 3am not needed forsure. Amount of drugged out individuals also didn't sit well.

On top next door and surround rooms are occupied with noisy people. At one point so noisy the police came and there was someone who was detained. It looked like a domestic violence incident. Also, next door and surrounding rooms (multiple rooms) appear as multiple people are living there long term and not renting for a short term. I was renting a room short term for 2 days. My next door rooms appear to be occupied by multiple people living and renting long term. I’m never going to stay at this trash hotel. I’m kind for giving a 2 star.

Older property- needs some renovation- especially showers. Hard to turn water on and shower faucets leak. But otherwise a clean and convenient place to stay.

Bugs kept biting me while I’m trying to sleep. Had to have been bedbugs because they’re hard to spot. Guess next door kept running in and out of the room every night during my entire stay. I give them some credit because whatever they were doing they did their best to be quiet about it.

Horrible overall condition. The door to our room would barely open or close due to previous damage. The shower was in disrepair, bad patching work, and the safety habdle/rail was falling out of the wall. The bathroom wallpaper was flacking off, there was clear drywall damage, and also a small swarm of flys (or flylike insects) living in the bathroom. The matresses are cheap and uncomfortable. The facuet on the sink was also loose and spun around freely.....this place in a mess, in need of maintenance and repairs.

I liked the breakfast and staff. A/C worked good. Nice hot water. Didn't like the room because the toilet didn't flush, noisy neighbors nextdoor, disconnect phone and homeless guy on a bike next to my van. Overall it's near the campus and there is a lot of homeless around that area apparently.

I am very dissapointed with the behaviour of the staff during this visit. Somehow during the breakfast there was a homless lady came in and picked up the breakfast, one of the staff came and asked her to go out, the homeless lady was going out with the breakfast plate, as soon she went near the door the staff pushed the food plate and they started fighting.. we felt very upset after that incident

They have no idea what’s going on in the hotel. They lock my door to my room and they thought I was somebody else… I was not happy that they locked my door right after I talk to them about who I was….

Our stay here was not that great. We were out in a room that had a broken ac unit and it was about 90 degrees in there. There was what appeared to be mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom and everything seemed to just be falling apart and in general disrepair. The staff were friendly though

There is no way this hotel should have the word Quality anywhere in their name! The only saving grace for this place is that the staff was really nice. That was the only thing! I have pics that I will be sending to the company but I must say this was the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed at!

Breakfast was perfect for what we needed

Best value in Riverside. Bldg is old so some things are worn, but rooms are clean, staff is great, breakfast is great.

This could have been a good + experience but for the lobby staffer who initially was professional and efficient. But when advised that the occupants of the room next door were sitting in the hallway, in camping chairs and making loud noises… No apology or empathy was offered, a different room was. When advised the new key cars was not working, again, no apology or empathy just a matter of fact instruction to come back to the office so that “I can show you” how to use the card and hung up on this guest while speaking. When I called back to ask why / if he hung up on purpose? again, no apology/ acceptance of poor staff to guest interaction… I have many customers! and second hang up. When I drove / walked back in… no contrition or empathy, immediately began to speak to me as if I was a child, demonstrating how the card works. When I explained that I had tried this, no words, just an issued a new card. Disappointed by the multiple negative interactions, I returned to the room and the new card immediately worked. My guess is there was a problem with the card initially issued. Lastly, at check out, I requested a print out/ receipt but was assured by a different/friendly staff member that it would emailed and my “reserve” amount on the booking credit card returned promptly. 48 to 72 hours later, neither has happened. Worst service ever will never go there again

Great stay

Pulled up to check in and there was a guy walking through the parking lot with a sawsall and a bandana on his face. Then another male sitting in his car with his face covered. I did not feel safe to even get out of the car. Even though I bought the additional cancellation… I was still denied a refund.

The only thing I can say about this ‘hotel’ is that it’s in a good location for UC Riverside, it’s pretty cheap and you get a free almost bearable breakfast - coffee and a banana anyway. That’s why I’ve stayed a few times but every time I do I swear it’ll be the last. The property and rooms are so run down, area outside is desolate and the service is terrible (except friendly lady at breakfast always!). I swear this time I’m not going back - will pay more to stay in the Marriott next door or a hotel in downtown Riverside next time.

Very old building. AC was super loud, ac running all night and still didn’t cool the room very much. Staff were very helpful and polite.

It wasn’t bad but there was NO hot water in the shower and the water was cold. Didn’t get extra towels and it was extremely loud at night. People kept knocking on our door and waking us up

Room smelt awful - like unacceptable odor, staff came and acknowledged but couldn’t move us. This wasn’t our first stay, so it was disappointing this is no longer an option for us.

This property isn't fit to be classified as one of the Choice hotels. First, there were cockroaches running around the property and my room had paint enamel chips coming off and mold spots on the bathroom / tub areas. The paint in the bathroom was not done well with some coming off. It looked really poorly maintained. The door to the room had a gap that you could put your hand under which means the cockroaches could enter also. Definitely gave me vibes of roach motel. Not recommended. The staff could use more personality, no affect and just doing their job and not very welcoming.

The entry door does not lock properly, and homeless people at night make us feel unsafe for the car breaks. The bathroom and toilet are missing soap, and the toilet does not work properly. Overall all this time it was not a great experience.

Very clean and neat room but the grounds were a little old and unswept. Breakfast buffet was complete and delicious with sausage, eggs, muffins, oatmeal, Cherios and freshly-cooked waffles! Housekeeping was thorough, polite and helpful. Laundromat worked but its room was hot and unventilated. Pool was not heated at the time but weather was 90° F . Excellent stay for the price!

Excellent stay.. Didn’t actually need a spot as Inown 2 houses in Riverside.. Just wanted to try it out since I’ve never stayed at a hotel In Riverside and was pleasantly surprised

Older but nice facility. Staff friendly, same breakfast each day, but very adequate. Coffee gets a +6.

45 year old facility is in pretty good condition but could benefit from a remodeling. Ironing board broken, burned out bulb in room and shower water didn't get hot. Several homeless seen sleeping around the property.

There were cigarette holes in the comforter. The lock on the door only worked part of the time. There was a leak from the toilet. The sink faucet was loose.

The empty lot between this and the property next to it had some leftover construction material which made it look a little messy. Inwould stay at the property again.

When we arrived was told the pool was closed and had not updated in the website when we booked so we had to cancel and book somewhere else costing us even more money cause was last minute, staff just said well cancel without understanding the trouble and inconvenience that was causing

This location has gone downhill fast! Ive stayed here for literally years, even under different names, and this is the worst that it has ever been. Homeless folks lurking everywhere, trash everywhere, the stairwells smell like urine, other guests literally fist fighting outside my room at 4am, NOTHING good to say about this dump. I will never stay there again.

It was the worst hotel was dirty shower very noisy trash cans where all overflowing, the stairs going up to the room was dirty and sticky. You don’t feel safe in the neighborhood homeless people all over the place.

Always the best. Staff is super. Breakfast is always fresh and tasty.

The room smell like cigarette. We were moved to a second room that continued to smell like cigarette. The pool was out of service and when I told management there was a leak in the tub his response was yes we tend to have leaks in buildings like this. Very unprofessional answer.

I wasn’t able to stay, they gave my room away

Int on walls were peeling and the tub was old and peeling as well, from constant water dropping from inside tub. Not enough parking spaces at night so I had to park in the dirt parking lot across the way. The laundry room where the ice machine is is very dirty lots of little dead bugs. The breakfast in the morning was good and they had a few good options. For the price I paid to stay here just disappointed that it wasn't as nice as it should be.

The room i got has some tiny bugs on it, and it kinda stinks too but it looks neat. Service is a bit slow cause i asked for some bath towels and they gave some to me few hours ago.

We stayed 4 days, the room was never cleaned and we had to ask for clean towels. We would never stay at this hotel again, service was terrible!!!!

Have a problem with the first room, non-smoking. But it smell like cigarettes. Staff worker changed my room and apologized for the inconvenience.

Beds were comfortable, room was clean but needed TLC. Good breakfast options. Had to wait outside locked lobby to check in. Lots of trash on walkways in the morning.

The 1st room they gave us had mold on the bathroom ceiling. The replacement bedroom was a lot cleaner with no mold. The breakfast was the same every day and was ok. Waffles, eggs, sausage, juice coffee, etc. overall stay was ok.

Conditions was poor. The room outlets only 2 worked, the lighting was very minimal, bed was hard like , had a bad crack at bottom of room door my thumb fit in the crack to the out side very bad homless problem outside roaming the hotel grounds. Breakfast was always behind in staying caught ip to serve the guest coming in. Had drunk people late at night 1 night saty in parking lot.

The price is great, the room was okay (older without the renovations in the pictures). But things went bad when walking into the bathroom. The tub was leaking, stained and gross and the floor was peeling, stained and smelled. We chose to not shower for 2 days rather than use the bathroom.

The outlet was loose and didn't really hold up the adapter while charging. Ended up using the clock to help support to charge the phone. Last day morning saw a big cockroach in the bathroom and bath tub is very old and slow water coming from the shower head.

People are very helpful. We had some additional time to kill since we were waiting on an activity. They let us do a late checkout and also let us use the dining area post checkout. It was very nice of them to accommodate the request.

cockroaches and worn down everything

The bathroom had mold around all the grout. The surface of the tub was worn off, the upholstery on the chair and footstool was gross. On the sidewalk outside my room was stained with spilled drinks, trash can overflowing. The bathroom light and fan wall switch was hanging off the wall. The staff at the front desk had such strong East Indian accents, I couldn't understand them.

I was just there overnight but the room was clean, bed was comfy, and the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and kind. He even said he changed my room and upgraded it to be closer to the front of the motel since I was traveling alone.

Terrible customer service. Mit, the front desk rep, was awful. My daughter had a softball tournament, and we decided last minute to stay in Riverside since their last game ended very late and they played early the next morning. When we checked in, the lobby had a funny smell, and the room had the same smell. My daughter was going to shower, but when she turned on the water, there was no cold water. After waiting a couple of minutes, I called the front desk. Mit said he had to come upstairs to verify there was no hot water. After waiting for 30 minutes, I called again, and it was almost 11 PM. He yelled, saying he was the only one working and told me to wait. Within 10 minutes, I called again and requested a refund, which he agreed to. He told me to come down to the lobby, but when I got there, he said I needed to call Expedia, raising his voice. Luckily, I got a good rep from Expedia and got a refund. While waiting for confirmation that my room was canceled, Mit ignored me for about 10 minutes and then said, 'Well, what are you waiting for?' At that point, I was done. Thank God for the Expedia rep and the Marriott next door. Lesson learned: don't go cheap, even if it's for one night.

Once you are in the room it’s ok except for the old motel smell of smoke ingrained in everything, but generally grungy, dark and it’s dirty outside. Breakfast was ok, coffee was good. I’ve stayed here before and swore I never would again but the low price drew me back. You get what you pay for so if the money is a motivating factor this is fair. But I won’t be back, until they refurb it at least.
