Swimming pool had a weird film on the top of the entire pool water. Breakfast was average but the turkey sausage links were bad tasting.

Location is great and the hotel is a value for the price charged. The carpeting in the halls is worn out and dated. The inside of my rooms appears to have been recently remodeled with newer carpet and paint. The exercise room is sparse but at least the facility has one.

I do not ever leave reviews or have negative opinions but this hotel was pretty bad.the wifi does not work!!!!! the apartment is really dirty and the continental breakfast is much smaller than normal hotels. This has been the worst hotel ive stayed at. The staff was nice though.

It was very comfortable. The pool area wasn't clean and you could tell it's been awhile. I asked for pool towels because none were stocked and you would have thought I ruined the girls day that was working the counter. Ice machine didn't work on our floor and had to use a different floors. Perhaps train the front staff to inform about pricing. I booked for $109 and she charged me $134.

The only ice maker that worked was on the 5th floor and only 1 elevator worked. Aside from that it served its purpose so in the end it was fine.

It just looked to me like the entire hotel could use an upgrade. The unit in the room and at the ice machine on the second floor (which did not have any ice the next day) were broken, the bed skirt was completely winkled, there was something gross smeared on the door. I will Not be staying there again. I did not enjoy my stay I’m sorry.

Has to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. The wifi never worked, the breakfasts were really bad, the staff hardly spoke English, The friendliness of the front desk was absent and my room was noisy.

Th location was perfect. The lobby and elevator was filthy. There was only one elevator working. The first room I was put in wasn’t even supposed to be released to a customer bc the AC unit cover was off and the room was filthy. The second room was much better however the entire hotel was not kept up well. The one elevator working seems to be a common theme since someone said the same review on only one elevator working a year ago. Epic fail.

The first room we arrived in was disgusting and clearly not cleaned. The second room was better- though evident their was grime and broken tiles in the bathroom. Our room was wonderful. My nieces room had an issue with the cover of the ac heat unit it was completely off laying on the floor. I tried to ask the cleaning person for tape and I get the impression she didn't speak English. Not a big problem for us but could be for other ppl

The room was always attended to and was clean and very comfortable. The presence of a fridge, microwave and coffee maker was an added touch of comfort and ease. Parking was terrific. Sleeping conditions were great. Bed was very cozy and comfortable. Plenty of storage space for a weeks visit. The staff was professional and concerned and took care of any problems with ease. The hotel while relatively clean was in need of a refresh on paint, plumbing and carpets. The room doors need to ease close otherwise they slam.

Management to make changes. I was hoping for a great stay while visiting family. Instead, it was very poor. I almost checked out right after checking in. The entrance doors had an obnoxious alarm sound the entire stay (4 days). The pool had green algae on the sides of the tiles, they ran out of pool towels (and sheets as I overheard a guest asking the front desk for sheets), the first aid kit in the pool room was broken and empty, one of the exit signs didn’t work, and it looked like mold underneath the water fountain). I might still report it to the department of health, there’s no way it’s up to standard. The room was okay, at least the king bed was comfortable and free of bed bugs. Though we did find someone else’s dirty sock underneath the mattress. The bathroom needed a deep clean. The walls had stains running down, the shower seemed clean, but then found hair belonging to someone else. The hotel was no where near an 8 rating, I would give it a 4. Highly recommend staying somewhere else.

Not handicap accessible. Hubby is wheelchair bound. We requested a 2-queen room with shower. They gave us first a full bathtub room. When they saw my husband they gave us a handicap room. The next morning when we were heading out to lunch, I checked our door for locking, and the electronic lock wouldn't lock. The door couldn't be secured. No technician on site, so they offered another room (our third room now) but the bathroom was not handicapped. Frustrated we said forget this, and we checked out. Waiting for my refund. This facility is not accessible for handicap guests.

We were just staying here for the night along our road trip after a long day of driving we needed a break and this was the closest one to book from where we were at on the road. It was out of the way from the highway which was a pain but it was a decent hotel. The pool was okay but dirty all around the sides of it and they say it’s heated but it definitely was not as it was cold. The room was alright however I had asked for a room with 2 beds because there was 4 of us and after taking a much longer time for check in than usual they said okay and I assumed that meant they found us one but when we got to the room it was 1 bed and a couch pull out. We also got put on the very top floor which I would have rather not been 1 elevator didn’t work the entire time of our stay and the other elevator felt like it was going to break down every time we were in it. For a place to sleep for the night it wasn’t bad it wouldn’t be my first pick though for sure. I also called down from our room to ask if they had any Advil in there little shop and the person I spoke with couldn’t be bothered to look just told me to come to the lobby and check for myself, which I obviously would have just done that in the first place anyway but I was trying to get my kids settled down while my husband had a migraine. There hospitality service could use a refresher course for sure

Wingate by Wyndham, Short Pump, is one of those rare finds where a friendly and professional staff, cleanliness, great rooms, and reasonable cost meets together. The hotel clerk went above and beyond. Convenient, also.

Clean, easy to get to with easy parking. Check out at noon gave me more time to rest before driving home. Good breakfast.

Breakfast was Okay and basic but overall good and the room was cleaned and towels replaced daily, which was I wasn't expecting. A decent hotel that is reasonably priced but needs a little refurbishment in the Gym & pool areas. A bonus was having unlimited coffee almost 24x7. Gym and pool areas need refurbishing.

Our room was gross. There were hand prints on the door. Dirty towels folded like they were clean. Marks all over the walls. Peeling wallpaper. The AC was out in the lobby/breakfast area. The fitness room was dated, dirty, no towels and broken equipment. We were only given 2 towels for 3 people the entire stay. When I asked for additional towels, I was given an attitude. When I explained the room situation I did not get an apology. Nice location.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was clean, nicely decorated. The breakfast was great! I was sick and they even had lemon juice and honey. I have been traveling for a week and this was the first breakfast that has bananas. The staff were friendly. We had a lovely view. 5 stars

I loved everything about this hotel! From our spacious corner room (which is rare in NYC) to top notch customer service when our air conditioner stopped working- our stay was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was great, the bed was comfy, and the location was perfect. This will be the only hotel we'll stay in when we visit NYC in the future

Beautiful hotel and room. Affordable and plentiful for the price. Parking is off the way they made it, however I do appreciate the option to have covered parking. I guess my gripe is more just the inconvenience of walking from covered parking and the hotel entrance. It’s inconvenient.

The only bad thing I could say about this trip is they held $75 for a deposit for way too long I should’ve been refunded for it Friday and here it is Monday

In the evenings there were tailgaters in the basement imbibing in copious amounts of weed and alcohol that made it unpleasant to even park in the basement. 0/10, would not recommend

Right as you walk into the lobby, the smell of the hotel’s pool smacks you quickly and it’s pretty potent - either the pool is over-chlorinated and/or the ventilation is poor. In my room, the coffee machine was missing parts (the basket) and couldn’t even be used. On Saturday morning I went downstairs to tell the woman working the desk, and she just looked at me and said “okay”. The coffee maker was never fixed, no part was brought, etc. I also let the gentleman working the front desk about this during my checkout. He was definitely the most hospitable staff member I encountered - he provided excellent customer service. Otherwise, the room also wasn’t seen or tended to by any staff on Saturday either to do anything for towels, sheets, etc. Would I stay here again? Probably not - there are multiple hotels in the area around the same price range.

Check down about 930 staff was very helpful. Hotel was clean room was clean. Bed was outstanding, shower was clean. No complaints.

There is no spa/hot tub even though there’s pictures online saying there’s one. There’s even a sign inside the building saying spa. That was a lie. There signs saying vending machines when there aren’t any on the 3rd floor. Just overall bad experience and I will never stay here again

We were not happy with the rate we had to pay!! Considerably more for two weekend nights when months ago we paid much less and if I booked for the next weekend it went back to the lesser amount. Will be looking for another hotel if this happens again!!!

Window wouldn't shut. Tv was broken. Light didnt work. Pull out was nothing but springs. Police on site due to domestic issues. Safety was a concern. Landry facilities were horrible and malfunctioning. Never stay again. Wife said shed sleep in the car before staying again.

Upon my arrival I was greeted by howels of a screaming patron whom I later found out was on the 5th floor. The facility was inundated with by police and ems who spoke of a woman who was losing it upstairs and cut her self pretty bad on broken glass. During all this chaos that occurred the staff acted like nothing was happening. They were professional courtesy and my stay ways fantastic it’s even near the mall I would definitely stay again 10/10

1. The booking process with Expedia couldn't have been any smoother and easy. I even made a mistake and forgot to change the guests name from the name on the payment info! I thought it was over right there. But Expedia had already expected that type of error and a simple easy correction option was already built into their system. Even after the booking and confirmation were final and I had just this one time let a friend talk me into declining the insurance option for my nonrefundable stay! There were plenty of shops, restaurants gas and entertainment venues nearby. Open even in the middle of the night. Here's where my experience went downhill. If you stay here check EVERYTHING before you use or even touch it. Do not expect staff to be helpful, provide any service or even be available. A broken chair dumped me in the floor almost immediately. There was a leak of some sort seeping through the carpet about 2:00 am. The elevator hasn't worked in at least a confirmed year. There was debris, stains and cigarette burns in the unwashed bedding. No answer from the front desk. The desk clerk at checkout was informed and simply did not acknowledge my presence much less my complaint. ...OH! I almost forgot, the towels did seem to be new and clean. Also there was a bare concrete balcony that did offer some relief from the stale smell and filth.

Run down and rough definitely in need of some TLC. Only one elevator bank was working. Parking is a little tight if you drive a truck or full size vehicle. Bathroom was so small I could barely turn around in the shower. Water was hot though! Pillows were very small. Almost like throw pillows. Overall it was decent but don’t think it’s going to be a windham based on the name.

Pool however had a scum film on top and you could see it. Was going to go for a swim but changed my mind after seeing it. That was my only complaint and I chose this hotel because of the indoor pool.

My visit to Richmond and Glen Allen was perfect. My hotel room was comfortable and the Staff was personable and very helpful. I could not have asked for more.

Microwave was not plugged in. And there was no court for the telephone. I did not think that was safe. We need to have a phone in case of an emergency. We packed up and went to another room.

If you didn’t know this area. This hotel is tucked away behind the main road. The staff are polite, the rooms were clean. The hotel is quiet, great for business travelers.

I have stayed there twice in the last few weeks due to a family member’s medical needs. Both times the elevators were either not working or barely working. It’s scary to not know whether you will suddenly be stuck on an elevator.

But that’s about the end of the positive notes. I am not certain how old this building is but it looks OLD, for such an up and coming surrounding area. One of two elevators was out of service, and the second almost made me second guess using it. In Fact when I tried to on our first day, it didn’t work. So I took the stairs and was HORRIFIED at the condition of the pool area, there is mold EVERYWHERE and I smelled it before I saw it. The stairway itself was filthy as well. I am truly concerned for staff and guest safety on that floor. The water pressure in the bathroom was barely existent. More like a drip than a shower. The water from the sink smelled very pungent. Two of us stayed for 3 days and were given 2 towels one hand towel and one washcloth. Very odd. The AC unit sounds like a freight train, was hard to sleep or stay asleep with the air running. Overall I was not thrilled with the stay. I’ve paid half the cost at a much better kept Hilton. The owners are fully responsible for the poor conditions here, truly concerning.

The hotel was overall clean. The room itself was excellent. The hallways were dated and gave off a musty, wet smell, but it was not present in the lobby area. One of the elevators was out and on the day we left, the other ONE working elevator was hit or miss. We stayed on the 4th floor so walking the steps (up and down) with luggage was not the most pleasant. Also, the ice machine on the 4th floor was broken, the 3rd floor was working but never had ice, so that caused for multiple trips (on the stairs) to the fifth floor. I'd be willing to stay here again if all other hotels were booked, but if another option was available at or near the same cost, I would likely choose another hotel.

Property was nice and clean. However, the elevator did not function properly. I was trapped inside for a few minutes and my wife was also trapped for a few minutes the next day. When she hit the call button, maintenance gave her a 45-minute eta.

I got off but definitely made me a little nervous. Just used stairwell for the rest of the stay as it was just overnight.

We booked a king room with a sofa bed, but were given only a standard king room. The front desk provided a rollaway cot as a workaround, which required us to rearrange the room to make space. Compounding the issue, the elevator was not working and we were assigned a room on the 5th floor, which was difficult while traveling with two children and luggage. The room itself had several clear maintenance problems that suggested it had not been properly checked prior to our arrival. These included a bathroom faucet that broke off, making the sink difficult to use, a cracked refrigerator that made a constant ticking noise that disrupted sleep, not enough towels provided, incorrect time on both the microwave and the clock, visible baseboard damage, and a lamp with no bulb. To be fair, the front desk staff member was polite and tried to assist, but many of these issues point to larger property maintenance and quality control concerns that management should address. Guests should reasonably expect that rooms are properly inspected, functional, and match the room type that was booked. Hopefully management takes steps to resolve these issues so future guests have a better experience than we did.

The room was clean, however the couch and bed were very comfortable. The elevators only half worked and it seemed very unsafe to ride at times. People were slamming doors and children were running up and down the halls screaming and yelling. The experience was the worst we have had overall compared to our other trips.

I was very disappointed during the second half of my stay, the elevator stopped working for three days. Traveling with someone in a wheelchair makes needing the elevator very important. She was stuck in the room for those three days. I was most bothered by the lack of communication. I did not receive a notice or anything that gave information about the elevator and when it would be fixed.. I had to call the front desk multiple times for information and there was no follow through. I stay at this hotel a couple times a year and this is one of tne only times i have been so upset about a stay. I am not positive i will be using this particular hotel again.

Staff was okay. Elevator wasn't working! My wife had knee replacement surgery a few months ago and it was extremely distressing to be told she and I would have to carry our luggage up several flights of stairs!!! Several lights weren't working in our room and only had one towel for the two of us. When we called to ask if they could bring us a bath towel we were told we would have to come and get it! Another trip up and down the stairs. This was unacceptable for a one night stay at around $180.00. Oh almost forgot the $25.00 fee checking in for the possibility of damaging the room or stealing stuff! Really, you charge us before we even check in. You won't have to worry about us us Wyndham again!!

Pretty standard hotel. Strange Twilight Zone vibe here. It was a ghost town with a few people milling around the lobby. The elevator might have been the scariest I've been on. The room was clean, only thing was that the TV was broken. Didn't bother telling anyone because you got the feeling no one would be able to fix it. Anyway, it was a decent price and didn't expect anything great. Would probably stay here again if I was in a pinch.

Heater sounded like truck every time it cut on Let receptionist see the pictures because the owner wasn’t there. We’ll see if they respond. I will not go there again hoping they’ll make it right by if they call us

The room was spotless, housekeeping are very good, good to have breakfast and there is all day coffee,tea, the location is great for the Short Pump. It's also close to where my son lives so is ideal for visiting them.

Something was off with this location. If you don’t look too close, it is great. But when you look at the finer details, you see where the hotel has cut corners and it shows. There was no spa/hot tub even though it is advertised as such. The indoor pool area is NOT safe and it is deteriorating the area pretty quickly. My teenage son didn’t feel well after his swim in the pool. It had strong chlorine smell and burned our eyes the longer we stayed in the pool area. Chipped paint, rusty window frames, and a musty smell in the lobby. Glad I won’t be returning.

Unfortunately when we arrived late Monday night, the room we were assigned smelled awful of sewage. Too late to switch, I waited till the next morning to ask for a different room. The next day, cleaning wasn’t done and we came back to a dirty room and no clean towels. Realizing it was a holiday week and short staff made for a less than pleasant stay. Too bad, as we had a very nice stay back at Thanksgiving.

This is a decidedly average accommodation. Positives include comfortable bed and convenient location, and breakfast staff that was cheery and attentive to the status of the buffet. The buffet itself was meh at best. There are a few things that could use improvement. The general condition of the hotel leans toward time worn- it could use fresh paint and new carpet. The elevators are pretty dingy and the underground parking suffers from seriously inadequate lighting.

Internet connection intermittent. All staff did not speak English. Elevator and ice machine not working. I asked for a room with walk in shower, and room had a bathtub without safety bars.

The ac/heating unit sounded like a plane taking off, luckly I was very tired and could sleep. Room was clean but lighting in seating area , well you need more. Couch had no lights near it.

In addition, the heater in the room was extremely loud, like a generator almost. Sleeping was difficult. I chose the hotel based on the picture of a renovated lobby and the higher price of $192 so we could have a good travel experience. No resemblance to the picture. Had better stays at $100 places, which this place should be. Advice to the franchisees, maintain it or sell it to someone who can run a hotel.

For some reason we were in a handicap friendly unit, the shower hear was extremely difficult to get set up and was in a very awkward spot for anyone who isn’t sitting in the shower. Our room only was given a single towel and wash cloth. We did not ask for more since it was a single night but it wasn’t appropriate for two people. Breakfast was good but could’ve used some variety and better lay out set up. You had to reach over food to get utensils and condiments.

When we got back to our room on the evening of the second day, our bed wasn't made up and the trash cans not emptied. The only thing we could see that was done was that we had fresh bathroom towels. We asked the front desk if they've stopped servicing rooms for short stays and she assured us they have not. She said she'd see if she could find someone who could make up the room but we said to forget it as we wanted to settle in for the night and not wait for a cleaning lady. So the service was lacking. Also, the HVAC under the window was held together with tape that was coming off!! Very un-Wingate like!!

the Manager was not on duty when we checked out. I finally got him on the phone. He said he would check into why we were not notified of the problem and contact me. Finally on Friday (4 days later!) I was able to get him on the phone and was told he was too busy to talk. It is now a full week and I have not heard anything from the manager and he is not picking up his calls. I do not know if the reservation problem is Wingate or Expedia but having the manager ignore it is unprofessional. We had previous stays at this location, but since we no longer feel secure and safe there, it is highly unlikely we will return.

The parking was adequate, and the facilities were ok. The breakfast had a nice variety of options and would probably accommodate just about anyone. It was certainly conveniently located near my venue for my class reunion, which was a bonus. Given the opportunity, I would probably stay there again.

I've stayed here several times. It's our hotel of choice in Richmond, both for It's location and for It's friendly staff, cleanliness and comfort. The breakfast buffet is nice to have too. Good for a free breakfast! And its clean and well stocked! I will always choose here. We stay usually once a month.

Overall good stay with couple of laughable hiccups. Good for a quick late night stop, wouldn’t stay longer than a day or two.

Staff is efficient and friendly. Room was clean, My room had a great view and the windows are sound proof so i could enjoy the view but also the peice and quiet.

Hotel was nice quiet and clean… Th one complaint I had was on the free breakfast. It was not good eggs under cooked no individual milk everyone’s hand had to touch a jug in small frig and waffle machine was not working. And the coffee could be better!!!

Nice place to stay

I’ve stayed here previously and had better experience (property is very worn down but good price for the location and front desk staff is polite). This time though 1. Shower did not have hot water and required multiple follow up visits from maintenance 2. There was a spider egg sac in the corner of the room that we had to go to the front desk to retrieve a broom and then sweep away ourselves 3. The hotel sundry shop ran out of water bottles while 4. The hotel breakfast area ran out of water 4. A group of people were “tailgating” in the parking lot (literally had a grill and pop up chairs set out) who were loud and blocking other parking spots 5. Housekeeping pounded on the door 4 times ( and opened the door once) between 8:30-11:30am on checkout day despite the “do not disturb” sign

The stay was good but the amenities were not that good. The toilet seat was coming off. The room smelled like smoke and we had to by room freshener spray . The coffee machine didn’t work. The ironing was breaking down. The bed was comfortable and we loved the Dove soap products. The tv was in and out and you couldn’t move the screen to angle towards the couch area. Overall it was average but the reputation of the hotel it could have done better. Breakfast was ok but it could has used sausages or bacon with eggs .

The room was nice and well kept, but the overall property needs a lot of TLC.. I am not going to bash every detail, but I expected more. We were traveling and almost made the same mistake in another town with the same chain of hotels but decided to spend our money on a deferent chain and we're much happier..

Many of the rooms were under construction. The main lobby and hallways are dirty and in need of repair. The pictures on Expedia do not accurately represent the property. The rooms are decent and clean.

We got moved to new room after having to go down to front desk, because could not get anyone via hotel phone. Breakfast was limited and not great. Sausage and powdered eggs and a few pastries. Will come to the area again for sure, but will look into staying elsewhere.

The hotel was immaculately clean! The staff was kind and helpful. My bed was comfortable, the shower pressure was great - cleaning was great-all the things I look for in a comfortable stay. Breakfast was plentiful and a variety of foods- I highly recommend this Wingate location!!

I felt that the Hotel is very safe & in a very convenient location for everything The only issue was that the ice machine on the third floor needs to be fixed. Everything else was great. Great breakfast with really great waffles.

The fridge and microwave in the room are a great convenience , and I always appreciate them.

Ok so gave them 5 stars mostly because it was the best sleep I’ve ever had at a hotel. The beds were perfect! And I’m personally allergic to feather pillows, so I was happy they don’t use those. The place was clean maybe a little older in the halls but not much. The rooms were well taken care of. Staff was very friendly even when we had a middle of the night arrival. The pool is really enjoyable. The only knock I’d give them is small. They put out a nice breakfast buffet but the eggs are powdered and kind of gross and the sausage is all dried up and kind of gross. They had lots of other options so it didn’t affect our opinion of them. I’d would recommend them for a comfortable stay!

The door to the lower garage kept constantly jamming, we reported the issue at the front desk. Their solution was to put in a wedge, so the door couldn’t close & get stick however people remove the wedge thinking they should lock the door. Could not reopen

Good, convenient location. Lots of shopping and dining nearby. Clean, some slight wear and tear in specific places but overall very well kept. Breakfast was good and not too far from downtown Richmond. I didn't feel like I was sacrificing or settling compared to if I had booked at a larger flagship hotel.

Bed, breakfast and major plumbing improvements were very nice. Smaller items like worn sheets, outdated lobby colors and marked up bathroom walls needing paint were unfortunately overlooked by management.

The room was clean and everything was fine, except for one unpleasant incident in the morning. At 9 a.m., I was startled by a loud knock on my door, followed by someone trying to open it — it was the housekeeper. As a traveler, I found this quite disturbing, especially since checkout was at 11 a.m. and I still had time to rest. Unfortunately, no one apologized or explained the situation.

Didn't get to stay. Manager cancelled our reservation without letting us know. We get there to check in and he said they were booked. 9:30 at night, me and my daughter get kicked to the curb with no notice. And the manager said I would have to contact Expedia to get my money back. I didn't even go thru Expedia, I went thru hotels.com. So I had to call my bank and tell them these people were holding my money.

The room was very nice. Our only complaint is that the shower door only opens in one direction which makes it hard to adjust the water temperature without stepping in.

I liked the location close to all my favorite shopping places. Just to name a few: Cabela's, Wegmans, Duluth Trading, Skechers, Short Pump close by! Plus I saved money and had a great room with comfy beds! The breakfast was great and the Hostess kept everything filled up!

I for the most part enjoyed my stay. It was quite at night, which I appreciate. There were a few cosmetic issues with the facility (broken window on the first floor). My room was comfy and a good size for the value. I did see one bug (in the bathroom) the morning I was leaving. The shower was nice, but more water pressure would be nice. It would be nice if our key cards could be added to our phones/wallets, and if the cards actually worked in the parking garage in the basement. I went out and returned a little later, and I was force to park in the garage, and walk all the way around and enter through the front instead of using the elevator right next to where I parked, because the door to the elevators were locked. The associate that checked me out wasn't very friendly. Didn't smile, ask me how my stay was, simply just said "you're all set," to let me know I was good to leave. Overall, my experience 3.5/5.

I have stayed at this property for approximately 10 years. I have watched the roads change, construction expand outward and traffic get busier. I have always felt safe in this hotel, in the parking garage and in the building. Breakfast has always been served with a variety of items and staff friendly. This week, I wish the ice maker on my floor would have worked.
