Linden Row Inn is a fantastic 19th century building. The layout is unique for a hotel, and it has this fantastic courtyard. Parking is street parking but not that hard to find a spot. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance. All in all, it’s a charming place and an unexpected find. And a super cute hotel cat
- 5/5
We love this place but wish they could get the bar and restaurant open

Great staff
- 5/5
This historic Inn is quite lovely and in a walkable neighborhood with good choices for restaurants. The room was clean, well appointed and very comfortable and relaxing. The courtyards were pretty and would be enjoyable for having drinks and snacks, but those you would have to provide on your own as there is no restaurant on the premises. Overall, an excellent experience in a charming place.
- 5/5
Lots of historic character and charm. Comfy beds.
- 5/5
This is an absolutely gorgeous, wonderful historic inn in Richmond. We booked this hotel at the last minute without knowing anything about it, and we were blown away by how charming and beautiful it is. The interior courtyard was like a secret garden in the city. There's even a friendly hotel cat. We'll be back, and I've already recommended it to several friends.
- 5/5
Super cute and quirky hotel located in the heart of Richmond. Walking distance to Pearly’s which is a top breakfast restaurant and several coffee shops. Parking is convenient but a little pricey. Would absolutely stay again
- 5/5
A lovely, quaint inn! Central location! Clean with a very smooth check in check out process assisted by friendly staff!
- 5/5
Very nice location. Well maintained historic property. You stay here to begin to immerse yourself in local history and culture
- 5/5
So beautiful, safe, and perfectly quaint for solo travel.
- 4/5
My room only got cleaned once during the 3-night stay. The refrigerator in the room made such a horrible, nonstop noise that we had to leave it unplugged. Don't expect to bring leftovers back and keep them cold overnight.
- 5/5
The property, especially the rooms show their age. However, our room was decorated in a way that reminded us of the old South, specifically old Charleston. The bed was very comfy and the AC worked great. Coffee in the lobby was good. Breakfast on the property is ordered then brought to your room. The highlight is sweet Annabelle… the sweetest kitty on earth! We would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Beautiful property that was completely renovated a while back. It now has some deferred maintenance like peeling wall paper and faded buttons on the elevator. Rooms are large and it’s overall very charming. The restaurant on site has limited food options and limited hours (we never ate there) but there is ample choice of excellent restaurants in walking distance. Neighborhood is spotty bit feels safe overall. Transportation is reasonably convenient. Street parking and paid open lot parking can be a bit tricky. Garage parking is a block away.
- 4/5
Great gentleman, was very helpful. Parking and location of the hotel was very convenient.
- 5/5
Had a great stay at the Linden Row Inn. Our room was right off a very cute brick courtyard which was great to relax in when the rain let up. Front staff employees were friendly and helpful.
- 3/5
Room was very spacious, but old carpeting doesn’t give a clean feeling or smell. Restaurant was not open. Downtown is not vibrant. I ended up eating outside the downtown area.
- 5/5
Parking was a little tricky, though there was a parking structure around the corner for us by the hotel guests. The unloading zone was a bit confusing. You are able to park in front of the hotel for 30 minutes if needed.
- 5/5
The room is BEAUTIFUL !! Large! The bed was better than the one I have at home! AC was perfect. (It was 98 degrees outside) very clean! Parking is one block from the hotel but inexpensive. ($10/night)
- 3.5/5
The hotel was a good value. It has a charming courtyard and the room was very clean. We thought the staff was very accommodating. It might have been our individual room, but it was very small and seemed more basic (like a modest chain hotel) than we expected. That said, it was very inexpensive so maybe that should have been the tell.
- 4/5
Quaint but older property which could use updating. Stairs are warped and can be difficult to navigate with luggage and a loose handrail.
- 5/5
Super charming!
- 5/5
The Linden Row is top notch by every measure: architectural richness, location, staff, and overall presentation. We've stayed ever so many times over 30 years.
- 5/5
We loved it here! Beautiful property and extremely kind and helpful staff! We will definitely be back!
- 5/5
The location especially the history of this historic American Inn of Richmond Virginia is one of the coolest I've ever stayed at in america. I put it up there with the Andrew Jackson hotel in New Orleans
- 5/5
Room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and Staff all seemed to be in great moods and happy. We will stay here again.
- 3/5
The hotel was a bit more worn than charming. And while my room in the Main House was Garden Level, the view was of a 4 foot passageway and then a high wall. Staff was friendly, but informal. Was a bit surprised when the desk/doorman, upon retrieving my bag from storage, didn’t offer to carry it 100 ft to my car.
- 5/5
Beautiful, quiet hotel. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Charming courtyard, clean rooms, helpful staff, nice location
- 4/5
A lovely hotel - it’s amazing how a block of handsome 19th century row houses was restored and converted into this comfortable place to stay.
- 3/5
Charming view of the courtyard. Do NOT stay on the ground floor of the "Garden" section, unless you like voluminous plumbing sounds when someone staying on the second floor does anything in their bathroom, or walks around, etc. Also, walls were very thin, so TV playing in the adjacent room is disturbing. Fortunately, it was turned off at a not unreasonable hour.
- 5/5
Really cool place to stay for a bit of Richmond history and very walkable area.
- 3/5
The noise from the footsteps above was quite audible, which made for a less peaceful stay. There were no water bottles provided. While the hotel advertised itself as being downtown, I found it to be a bit farther than expected, requiring me to take an Uber to reach downtown or other locations. I would suggest considering other accommodation options for a more convenient experience.
- 5/5
You have to walk a block to park was the only negative thing about this place. It costs $10 to park. So just be prepared.
- 4.5/5
The history and vibe of the hotel its self. Edgar Allen Poe
- 4/5
Parking was a bit difficult. The two staff members I dealt with were great. My room had very sparse decor, only a couple of small pictures that could have been purchased at hobby lobby. Being surrounded by brick exterior there was a lot of harsh noise in the afternoon during the breakdown of an event, but all through the night it was quiet and peaceful. I would stay here again.
- 4/5
Climate fine. Had to park a block away and it rained.
- 5/5
Other than that hassle, the Inn was a great treat - very atmospheric and comfortable.
- 5/5
Another great stay! Staff always helpful, rooms impeccable.
- 4/5
Linden Row Inn is a historic place to stay within walking distance of many good restaurants, including Perly's--a wonderful Jewish Deli that serves delicious breakfasts and lunches. The room I stayed in was large and comfortable, with a separate sitting area. We had an issue with the bed, which the team immediately worked on, after we told them about it. They were very warm and helpful. Parking is in a garage one block up the street for $10 per entrance. My only disappointment was that we were not walking distance from shops, galleries and the canal, but they were all a short-ish drive away. I would consider staying at Linden Row Inn again!
- 5/5
No parking was frustrating but overall great stay.
- 5/5
Beautiful historical hotel in the heart of Richmond! We stayed in a Parlor Suite, which had 2 large rooms with a fireplace, antique furnishings and floor to ceiling windows letting in lots of sunlight. We felt transported to the Gilded Age! Friendly staff as well. Walking distance to many great restaurants too. Would highly recommend the Linden Row Inn!
- 5/5
Super cute boutique, hotel, vibe. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Charming property grounds, and great room.
- 5/5
It be would have been nice to have a chair to sit in and read.
- 5/5
Charming, historic, great location
- 5/5
I’ve stayed at this hotel several times now and love it for it’s quaintness, location, and the cat that lives on-site!
- 5/5
Very unique and old (historic) property. Slightly run down, but not unclean. Ideal for a downtown business stay.
- 4.5/5
Loved the location. Easy walk to restaurants. Staff friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
The property is in a great downtown location near restaurants and other attractions. Very clean, large rooms, lovely furnishings. The restaurant had closed the week before our stay and we weren’t aware, but great local options were very close by. Otherwise our stay was great.
- 4.5/5
The row of linked townhouses to create the hotel is architecturally clever. The central location is great. The beds were marvelously comfortable. A loading zone near the entrance is available. As with any urban location, the parking is a bit awkward but the garage on the next block was fine and the overnight rate was very reasonable.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel. Friendly staff, and clean rooms, very unique design. Great location, close to many restaurants and sites to visit.
- 5/5
We went for a tournament at the convention center. The location is close, on flat ground. The rooms are gorgeous, bathrooms clean and adequate, and the coffee is available early. I love this place. 10/10 no notes
- 5/5
Love staying here. Clean, excellent staff. Missed the restaurant (being remodeled), but lots of places nearby. Would absolutely stay here again
- 4/5
Very nice downtown location. Compact but very well maintained room. Nice courtyard. Soaps higher quality. Staff friendly. Because older property converted access not great for all people to rooms. Need to climb up and down stairs with your luggage. Room is third smaller than typical hotel. Also no dedicated parking so need to park in street or nearby lot.
- 4/5
Historic property well decorated. Only negative was street noise.
- 5/5
Excellent hotel! Very comfortable beds, super convenient location and incredibly friendly staff, especially Annabelle! Can’t wait to visit again!
- 5/5
Room was clean, amenities good, A/C working well, beds are fabulous, location great.
- 5/5
This is an historic inn. It has some idiosyncrasies but the rooms were clean and quiet, our bed was very comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and in a great location.
- 5/5
Always a favorite! Love the downtown location and helpful staff. I wish the bar/restaurant was still operational. Comfy quarters and appreciate the mini frig in our room!
- 4/5
Our room was large and very clean. The only thing that keeps me from giving a five star review was the noise. All night I was kept awake by stomping and noises of moving furniture around above us. The side wall wasn’t very good at noise insulation either.
- 4/5
Check in staff was not too friendly but room was very clean and good for an historic hotel. Check out was a bit strange with no one at front desk but two men standing by front doors smoking and once done they seemed to be staff or acted like it as they came in but never asked to help me so we left room key in basket as labeled. Parking was nightmare as we reserved public parking soot but was located 2 blocks away and in sketchy area.
- 3.5/5
Location was good and comfortable bed Not as clean as I would expect. The hotel needs some renovation

- 4/5
Clean and quiet Very high bed which was hard to climb into. I’m an athletic 5ft 4in person. Very small bedroom with little room around the sink and no cupboard under it. Creaky floors so noise if people walking around upstairs woke us numerous times. No chair of and description on the bedroom Staff were professional, but not particularly welcoming.
- 4.5/5
Needed a fan because they didn’t want me to change the thermostat.
- 4.5/5
No stopper for the tub

- 5/5
Really cute place. We really enjoyed the stay. A step above a typical chain
- 5/5
Always an enjoyable stay. N/A
- 3/5
The was a toenail in our bed.
- 4/5
Clean, historic type property
- 5/5
We loved the historic nature of the hotel and its proximity to everything we wanted to see in Richmond. Staff was very friendly and Annabelle the cat was a hit with my daughter. I wanted to love everything about the experience but the condition of the hotel was a bit disappointing. There were unpatched holes in the walls and dirty/uneven wallpaper in the room. There were also several areas of the hotel that showed signs of work in progress with plywood propped on walls and a ceiling panel lying on the floor. The guest chair in our room was broken and unsafe to sit in. We would love to try staying here in the future but I hope they give some much needed TLC to the rooms and space.
- 4/5
The inn was clean and the hotel staff was very helpful.
- 5/5
- Great staff - Beautiful Rooms - Very Clean Perfect
- 4/5
The cook did not show up, so we had to go out to breakfast. Just around the block, so not a big deal. I was a little concerned about parking, but the local garage was just $10 overnight, and the staff gave good advice about the how to get in and out. The room was very nice. A property that could only happen in Richmond.
- 4/5
Very friendly staff, beautiful rooms, and really comfortable beds. Water pressure was a little low.
- 5/5
Easily one of the most genuinely charming and historic hotels that I have stayed in, and I’ve stayed in a lot. The rooms were huge, the ceilings high, and the mattresses newly replaced (the old ones were behind the building in an alley, waiting to be disposed). They were so comfortable we actually stripped the bed in our room to find out the make. Also, the people at the desk were very friendly and seemed to take a lot of pride in their property.
- 5/5
Hotel was beautiful and the location was nice. Just a heads up they no longer offer valet parking, so if you’re checking in late at night, be prepared to head to the parking garage around the corner.
- 4/5
Parking in the deck one block away is $10 a day now. The armchair next to the bed needs new stuffing as it does not have much support. Nice bathroom. Spacious room.
- 3.5/5
Wonderful old structure. Good location. It seemed really tired. It could use a little sprucing up. Staff was inattentive and a bit dismissive. It just kind of seemed like unless something happened. It would just sit there and rot.
- 5/5
Classic historical hotel. Recommend staying in the garden area in spring. Very nice staff. Adorable cat Annabelle greets you in the lobby. Safe location. Bed was very comfortable.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Didn't have breakfast there but over all I was very very pleased with everything they had to offer. When I go back to Richmond anytime atleast I know where I will be staying. And that’s the Linden Row Inn. I was extremely satisfied with everything you offered.
- 4/5
Cleaning was very superficial; lots of hair in bathroom and room corners. Windows do not open
- 5/5
Heat and air conditioning was fine. Historic hotel so
- 3/5
The area is cute, walkable to buses, and there’s a sweet lobby kitty. The building is historic, with nice architecture. One front desk staff member was awesome, but the others during our stay were a bit less friendly. None were rude or unprofessional. They gave us fresh washcloths when they weren’t able to clean the room. CONS: The walls are so thin, we could hear all of our neighbors’ conversations, even though they were speaking in a normal voice. Our upstairs neighbors dropped their luggage (presumably) on the floor late at night and it was so loud my partner and I both jumped. We could hear their conversations clearly as well. The furniture, wallpaper, and carpet were well past their prime, and were perhaps last updated decades ago. The sink was cracked, and it took several minutes for the hot water to get warm enough to shower each time. The room ceiling had a crack across it. The old wooden baseboards, doors, and molding appeared as though they had been painted over dozens and dozens of times and still seemed to be aging poorly underneath. One day we asked if we could get our room cleaned even though it was around 1pm; they told us it was probably too late, and indeed, they were not able to get to it. The TV had live channels but no streaming. There’s no gym, pool, or onsite parking. The only amenities were Wi-Fi, a hairdryer, and Keurig. It’s definitely not up to par with other similarly priced accommodations. I suspect it gets by mainly on the historic charm.
- 4/5
Location great. Staff great. Very clean. But under needed updating. The new mattresses were in the walkways. Painting needed attention. Some better decorations as this is really a beautiful property and should shine. Very comfortable bed by the way. Would recommend and will definitely go back to again.
- 5/5
Great location and wonderful historic property!
- 2/5
You could walk to a better hotel
- 4/5
Nice, clean room for a reasonable price in downtown Richmond. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was a little bit of a problem since there was an event going on in the nearby convention center. The lots that the staff pointed us to were full and we had to find another one. Also, the restaurant was closed the day we checked in and they weren’t sure if it would be open for breakfast the next day. It turns out that it was but by time we got down there it had already stopped serving breakfast. But I recommend if all you need is a reasonably priced clean room in a convenient location, which was the case for us.
- 4/5
Loved the location. The history of the area and the beautiful historical details of the inn. Staff was all friendly. Loved the courtyard and how the rooms were spaced out. Like going back in time ? The pillows on the bed were extremely flat. We were disappointed that the on-site restaurant was closed for dinner Sunday and though the receptionist said it would be open for breakfast, it was not. Water machine was not working and there was no water in the vending machine. We ended up purchasing the last bottle of water from the front desk.
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
My husband and I stayed here for the weekend and it was absolutely wonderful!! Quiet and beautiful. The property has an historical essence and the rooms are very nice. The breakfast offered on site (you do have to pay for it) was so delicious. There was also a coffee bar. Will definitely be staying here again.
- 2/5
Hate to down rate but the Inn charged more than double the published Expedia/Hotels for an extended stay- one night. The rate for the day was$144 on Hotels and the Inn charged $299. The staff was courteous and the Inn is charming but the explanation for the one night extension rate was quite simply word salad. So: stay here but do not direct book and definitely do not assume that management will do right on any change. I went from being pleased to being disappointed and it was easily avoidable if the do-right rule was followed.
- 4/5
A very nice historic property located in the center of the commercial city. They now offer several simple breakfast offerings to start you day. The rooms offer comfortable linens and new mattresses.
- 5/5
This was our second time at Linden Row Inn and we loved it!! Would absolutely recommend and hope to visit again in the future!
- 4/5
The history and ambiance and outdoor courtyard. The staff. Breakfast was only “to go.” Also, we ordered in dinner the night before and would have liked the option of sitting in the dining area, which was closed off, because it was too cole to sit at the outside tables.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay.
- 2/5
NO SAFE IN ROOM IN TODAYS ENVIROMENT NOT ACCEPTABLE.
- 5/5
Great location, we are fans of the historic feel, staff are fantastic!
- 5/5
Large and clean room with amusing Edgar Allen Poe themed decorations. Modern bathroom, plenty of pillows. The hotel is a row of old townhouses restored well. Friendly and helpful staff. Didn't have breakfast here. Restaurants nearby. No complaints.
- 3/5
This place is totally fine to stay at. I love the history and I feel it has a ton of potential. I’m assuming with some investment it could be amazing. It was fine for what we needed.
- 3/5
This place is historic and cool in that regard. It’s also totally fine to stay at. Decent location, safe, clean and staff was friendly. With some investment, I think they have a great opportunity to make this much nicer and cool. That said, this served its purpose for a two night stay.
- 5/5
Walkable, shops nearby
- 5/5
Loved the layout of this hotel. A ton of character with a beautiful enclosed patio. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Walkable to all of the attractions on our list.
- 5/5
Awesome, authentic Richmond stay. No reason to stay anywhere else
- 5/5
This is a lovely old building with many historical features that have been lovingly preserved while updating the premises to enhance comfort. Our room was very quiet and comfortable. We had no difficulty finding street parking right out front for a Sunday night stay. Will definitely go back!
- 4/5
Nice enough for the price. Room was clean but run down with places that needed repair. No bedside table or light on one side of bed so only overhead light was available. Price was right and location is great.
- 2/5
Air conditioner good. Bed creaked so badly we had to put the mattress on the floor to sleep. Flood lights shone through windows with difficulty drawing curtains and blinds inoperable. Bath clean and supplied. Furniture worn and needs repair. Hair dryer very old and weak. Noise from below invaded. Nice try for history but not worth the price.
- 5/5
The staff were kind and professional, especially Vincent. The rooms were large and clean, although the windows are in need of cleaning after the winter. The courtyard area is so sweet, as are the balconies and rocking chairs.

Linden Row provides a comfortable taste of early Richmond. The beds are plush, the rooms well lit, with a bathroom that's clean and water warm; the modern comforts we have come to expect. And staff are most friendly. But in this place you are also surrounded by centuries of people and time in the walkway, in the garden, in the depressions in the banister from the thousands of people over the centuries. I will absolutely stay again at my next opportunity in Richmond.

Awesome stay! My wife and I did not know that Richmond was covered in ice during our stay. The only issue that we had was parking. We parked in the public lot (don't get comfortable parking on the side of the street since the City of Richmond is strict with its timing (hourly parking).

Beautiful, charming building hearkening back to an older era. Staff was courteous. Only problem was the rooms are not build to handle temperatures in the teens (single pane glass with tall ceilings). A space heater could have solved the problem, but having none on hand staff relocated me to a room with a shorter ceiling. Given the outdoor corridor it's best to stay here when the temperatures are warmer.

Awesome beautiful excellent location delicious breakfast on China and extremely wonderful hospitality!

The only negative was we got a $30 parking ticket at the nearby garage we were advised to park at. The machine that distributes tickets was broken and we listened to a local who did it was ok to park there without paying. My bad. I would stay him at London Row

Super friendly staff headed by Ms. Annabell, the feline Queen of Linden Row. Great Location and quaint feel to the hotel.

We almost froze to death the first night. The heater malfunctioned while temps outside were in their 20s. It was too late for them to call maintenance so they gave us extra blankets. They attempted to fix the issue the 2nd day, but were not able to so they moved us to another room. The heater worked fine in the 2nd room, but we never saw housekeeping for the duration of our stay.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and spacious room!
- 5/5
The room was great! Two very comfy beds in a spacious room. Everyone was super friendly, and we enjoyed a glass of cava in the parlor. Breakfast was yummy too! Easy to walk many places from there.
- 3/5
Room had no chair-pretty cramped. Pretty sure they werent full so wondered why they dont give that size room but a little nicer?
- 5/5
A hidden gem in Richmond. Rooms are large and clean and staff very helpful. Great private inner courtyard.
- 5/5
The room was very clean, the aesthetic of the inn was beautiful, and the staff was extremely gracious and kind. I will definitely book again if i return to Richmond!
- 5/5
Very cool esthetic of the room with Edgar Allen Poe themed stuff on the wall. Felt very old school, but still all the modern conveniences of a modern hotel.
- 5/5
Clean comfy room. Old property.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
And Annabelle is the best.
- 4/5
Discontinued free coffee at registration desk. after 8am
- 5/5
Cute stay and clean. Loved the hotel cat. Can’t wait to come back for a longer stay.
- 4/5
In my room, the linens were industrial. The tv was inoperable with what could only be described as a tangled mass of cables and electrical wires fastening a junction box of some sort which was hanging askew. It looked like a wiring nightmare which is likely a safety code violation. I did not sleep at all for fear that a fire would start. The small refrigerator never cooled properly. Should she end up in the hands of someone with the financial means to restore her to the glory she deserves, I’d love to come back to see her in all her majesty.
- 2/5
Hotel is old but the room was in need of all kinds of updates especially the locks and the door not what I was expecting, thank goodness we were only there to sleep and leave
- 5/5
Rooms always clean, comfy beds and love the location
- 5/5
Clean rooms, welcoming atmosphere, great location!
- 5/5
Linden Row is my go-to hotel in Richmond and I'm never disappointed.
- 5/5
- 5/5
Everything was excellent. Richmond rocks
- 3/5
You can hear the people in the room above you. Too noisy.
- 4/5
We stayed one night for NYE. Clean Room. Staff was not very helpful when the parking deck was closed but we were able to find street parking nearby. The room lighting was too low for reading. Convenient location.
- 3/5
We expected but didn’t receive housekeeping on Sunday. We did ask staff for towels and they were responsive. So our experience was a mixed bag: big, comfortable but tired room; good interaction with staff; and we liked the location.
- 5/5
Room was spotless. Bed extremely comfortable. Staff courteous and helpful. I hope to visit again.
- 5/5
Yes
- 5/5
Nice quiet hotel, extremely nice staff, enjoyed our stay
- 3/5
Nice building and cute cat. Just some minor things like shower a bit cold and volume on the TV did not work
- 5/5
Very nice!
- 4/5
Amazing place
- 4/5
A/C very good. Fridge very noisy. Silverfish in bathtub. Staff VG, but no water in the room. No hangers! In the closet.
- 5/5
Super cute and affordable place, I will be returning next time I’m in Richmond!
- 4/5
Friendly and effective service at the front desk and in the dining room. Grand room with comfortable bed and a moder bath/shower area. Good linens (i.e., sheets, towels). WiFi worked well. Nice working desk in the room. Wooden floors makes things a little noisy at times. I know no one stays anywhere for the TVs, but come on. I have never stayed in a hotel that does not get CNBC. Plus, all TVs need a timer. Need to do a better job merging appliances (refridgerator, microwave) with the old school nature of the room. Some with not be comfortable with the neighborhood.
- 5/5
This is one of the coolest hotels to stay at in all of Richmond. The staff is over the top helpful and friendly. 10 out of 10 recommend
- 2/5
the room seemed "tired". Everything in the room seemed old and worn out. The bed was fine. The floor in the bathroom was very cold and we could hear the person next door coughing as well as a tv above us that seemed to be on all night. Staff was very nice
- 5/5
While there is plenty of parking in Richmond, the proper location can be slightly confusing as there are a lot of bike lanes.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 5/5
Room was large. Very historic and near everything
- 5/5
The history of the hotel was charming.
- 4/5
Nice stay
- 5/5
We love staying here! The staff is so kind, the rooms are great and the entire hotel is charming.
- 4/5
Definitely overpriced for what the room was. Staff was very friendly.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 5/5
Fantastic bed. Great shower.
- 2/5
I cancelled my reservation due to parking. The hotel doesn't validate for the parking garage that us located "around the corner"; the other option is to look for a space in the street with the hopes you dont get a ticket.
- 4/5
Not their fault but parking is in a garage a block away that only has a 6’6 clearance so inconvenient for trucks.
- 4/5
Hot water and big room. Outdated decor but clean. The AC is sometimes very loud. A lot of good dining options close to the hotel. The breakfast while a little expensive is quite good.
- 5/5
Lovely property!!
- 5/5
Great staff! Charming property!
- 5/5
Nice place
- 4/5
We had an enjoyable stay at Linden Row. Very convenient and well appointed. Our biggest complaint was we reserved I queen size bed. This bed was not queen size, it was definitely full size. We currently have a queen size bed and downgraded from a king size. Overall great historical Inn.
- 5/5
Staff were very nice AND the grounds and building are amazing! The bed was comfortable and the sheets were nice. It was cold out and I had the heat up and it worked just fine.
- 5/5
perfectly located in the middle of it all, this historic hotel has character and a Poe-themed vibe, even with a house cat names Annabelle
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay in such a charming, historic inn. The room was clean and cozy, staff was friendly and courteous and the location was great for our first vist to Richmond.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our short stay at the Linden Row Inn. The rooms were a nice size and had a beautiful historic look to them. The shower was hot and the beds comfortable, perfect for our quick refresh before getting back on the road. The only thing that was a little tricky was getting the luggage up some steps. That wasn’t too bad for us but for anyone who has difficulty with steps or carrying stuff up stairs may have an issue with that. Parking is also not included. We parked at a garage a few blocks away for the electric vehicle charging that was available there. There was a garage that was closer too. The only other thing that would have made the stay even better is a quick bite to eat for breakfast at the hotel. The restaurant was closed the day we were there. It would have been nice to grab a coffee and something to eat and enjoy it in the courtyard.
- 5/5
Great stay, location, & customer service.
- 4/5
The staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. The atmosphere was inviting. Room was comfortable.
- 5/5
There is a parking garage close by for only $10 a day.
- 5/5
This is the most unique and historic place I've stayed! It is so very beautiful. The staff is very kind and very patient. The restaurant in the hotel is delicious.
- 4/5
Unique property!
- 5/5
Amazing historic hotel. Excellent setvice, cleanness, and location. I recommend 100%.
- 5/5
The room was comfortable and clean. Our stay was perfect before our participation in the Richmond marathon! Thank you!
- 4/5
The property was quaint and well maintained for a historic building. If you like a charming hotel versus a big chain hotel, this one is for you. The front desk staff offered suggestions for happy hour and dinner. We walked to the Altria Theatre from the hotel and that was about a 1 mile easy walk.
- 5/5
Great place! Big rooms, classic old Richmond atmosphere.
- 3/5
Room was very basic, and the Bed was Much Too soft
- 5/5
Great experience at the Linden Row. We found street parking readily available. The Inn is unique and lovely, the staff very helpful, and we enjoyed the lovely common areas with friends. Clean rooms. Cozy. Very enjoyable.
- 5/5
The room was nice and spacious and the staff weee very polite and friendly. Location was good and had easy access to all the places we wanted to go.
- 5/5
Clean, interesting and historical. Plus they had a cat!
- 5/5
Great room. Clean, great location.
- 4/5
The staff was so nice and welcoming. The historical charm of the property was great. Walking distance to many restaurants and perfect distance to the marathon start line.
- 5/5
Really great old historic inn. Very friendly staff and convenient location.
- 5/5
Beautiful building. Wonderful staff. We did have constant noise over our head almost all night, which was odd, but other than that, great stay.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Marvelous discovery -- very historic inn cobbled together from seven or so row-houses from 1847. Edgar Alan Poe was reared across the street, and the place is associated with Mrs. Scott, who started the preservation efforts -- now very successful -- in Richmond. To be commended.
- 4/5
Beautiful property and very safe. Clean and friendly.
- 5/5
Parking: not easy, went to the recommended garage, left car and paid via app but I never got confirmation of payment. Got stuck in the garage and had to call the company to have them open the gate...stressful. Coffee could be improved.
- 5/5
The history of the building and location was a highlight.
- 5/5
Check in person was great - room is fine. Very convenient to downtown Richmond.
- 3/5
The condition of the rooms is poor-- clogging bathtub, tiny rooms, framings and cupboards and couches/armchairs going to pieces, uncomfortable pillows, some rusting fixtures, and sound travels between rooms and from outside into the rooms. The service was considerate though- the receptionist at night moved me to a quieter room when I was disturbed by outside noise, and the person at the morning desk was apologetic about the bathroom. I've had similar things happen in a past stay, so I dont think that'll change. I appreciate the receptionists though.
- 5/5
Just what the doctor ordered? Quaint, clean, comfortable.
- 3/5
It was ok. The people were great.
- 5/5
Great climate control
- 5/5

- 4/5
The staff was great! The room needed a few repairs but was still nice
- 2/5
Extremely noisy; parking not ideal;
- 5/5
Everything was great. Staff was friendly and helpful, accommodations were clean and comfortable, and Annabel the cat was adorable.
- 4/5
Clean room, lovely greeting from the evening staff.
- 3/5
This is a nice hotel, but the layout and all of the steps is not very inviting to those with various disabilities. It was inexcusable that there was practically NO breakfast in your bistro on Thursday morning at 9:00 AM, an hour before the bistro was set to close. We had to find breakfast elsewhere.
- 3/5
The staff was nice and helpful. The room needed some work. There were a number of holes in the ceiling. Everything was closed. I understand not having a kitchen staff if there are not a ton of guests but I'm still paying the same price for less of an experience.
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay! The room was clean and comfortable for our long weekend. Hope to return the next time we’re in Richmond!
- 5/5
the cat.
- 5/5
The first roomed we booked was for a queen room graden view. The room was nice and clean, very small and had no fridge. The second night we switched to a king room. The king room was big, had a fridge and microwave. The staff was very helpful with making a new reservation for the second night since we had booked through exp
- 5/5
It was small but cozy, the ac unit woke us up when it kicked on other than that everything was great especially for the price and location. Nice courtyard it was cozy and private.
- 5/5
Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Beautiful property in a convenience location for exploring Richmond.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
This was my first time visiting Richmond, and I really enjoyed my stay at Linden! The room was clean, the facility was friendly. And I enjoyed every second of my stay at this hotel extra special shout out to Vincent who is on staff at the front desk. In fact, the entire staff was excellent, but I don’t know everybody’s name because I would call them all out. In the future when I am in Richmond, I will be staying at the Linden.
- 5/5
Street parking was easy right across the street.
- 3/5
My rating isn’t high for these reasons: When we check in around 8pm the attendant was nice but not overly helpful. We were not explained the parking garage. The TV kept losing signal and not working. The internet is not consistent so if you need it to work it can be very frustrating. We did not get breakfast; this was due to an emergency the cook experienced and I’m not complaining, but we did not get the breakfast on top of our other issues. The attendant the next morning was very helpful and I got some quality time with the cat. I’d likely try a new place to stay next visit.
- 1/5
The parking was atrocious the front desk sent me to a public monthly parking lot where they would not let me stay. I had to wait till after four to park on the street in hopes that I wouldn’t get towed then they double bill me for breakfast and one beer. The hotel desk was very unresponsive to the Bill : said wait a couple hours to the manager came in so they could figure it out.
- 5/5
I am pleased your restaurant is opening up.
- 5/5
Great location, the building has a lot of character and comfortable room, the staff was very friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Every time we come to RVA we enjoy ourselves, and much of that has to do with Linden Row. It's our go-spot. Great location, quaint digs, friendly people and solid accommodations. We've been coming here for years, and it continues to be our favorite.
- 5/5
The aesthetics are just so cool. It’s a very comfortable place to stay in a great location.
- 4/5
Parking is tricky at this property. I would suggest using the open parking lot a block away on Foushee Street instead of the main parking deck two blocks away that was always full during our stay. I had to drive around to fi
- 5/5
Excellent customer service (Ryan at the front desk was amazing)
- 4/5
The staff were all nice. The facility was okay-- we were just there for one nite to catch an early flight out. There was no elevator and we did not receive any help. The person who I think was supposed to help was asleep on a couch in another room-- kind of odd..
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the Linden Row Inn. The hotel room was spacious, the staff were great, and the location is conveniently close to many restaurants. I hope to stay again.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Clean, very comfortable and quiet. Always have a great stay at Linden Row.
- 5/5
Super charming hotel! The room was spotless. Small but had everything we needed. Service was great. We enjoyed our stay! Worth noting that the room did not have a refrigerator, and there is no dedicated parking.
- 5/5
I was absolutely thrilled at the offer to check in early versus just checking our luggage. Service at the Linden Row is top notch, including cuddles from the beloved inn cat. The room we had was incredibly spacious and perfect for our needs. I would definitely recommend it you're seeking more of a historic trip in Richmond.
- 5/5
The staff is very helpful and kind!
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming and the hotel was historical and comfortable
- 5/5
Great historical place! Disappointed we didn't get to meet Annabelle 😿, would absolutely stay again.
- 4/5
This is a historical location, so the bathroom wasn’t as efficient as a modern one. Parking was quite a challenge, and there was some unexplained noise, possibly from water or electricity, that made it hard to sleep at night. Still, the view from the place makes it worth a stay! However, if you’re traveling for business and need proper rest, this might not be the best option.
- 5/5
Great historic property with a charming court yard.
- 4/5
The city has lost its soul but this space is still working on it.
- 5/5
Historic building with cute courtyard
- 1/5
The property is rundown, dirty, and offers terrible service. The room is small and would be more at home in a low-budget hotel.
- 5/5
Hotel is vey nice, rooms are large and clean.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful and funny. Loved the cat. Very comfortable and lush bedding. Great atmosphere.
- 4/5
The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was pleasant and the resident cat so friendly.
- 4/5
There is an adorable cat on property who took a nap in our room for a little bit and hung out with us. She is black & white and kind of looks like the framed photo of Edgar Allan Poe in the lobby. The courtyard especially the fountain is very charming. Bugs were really loud and the age of the architecture made for slightly uneven floors and door frames, but didn’t take away from the experience too much. Would definitely stay there again!
- 5/5
This hotel is the definition of old world charm and is walking distance to the concert amphitheater. Also, there is a very sweet cat.
- 5/5
Large room. Clean and quiet.
- 5/5
Lovely old place with old charm. Comfortable room and spacious bathroom. Super clean. Nice beds and bedding. Easy walk to nearby restaurants. We’ve stayed before and will stay again as a stop on our route. Parking is on street or in a garage a block away.
- 4/5
This property was historical and very elegant. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
- 5/5
Great place in a great location!
- 5/5
Historical feel.
- 5/5
We were only in town for a few days but we absolutely loved our stay at the Linden Row Inn! We interacted the most with the night attendant (I think her name was Jade) and she was very friendly and informative. She gave us a lot of recommendations for food and things to do in the area. The gentleman working when we checked on was also very friendly! Even the maintenance crew was nice. The hotel has so much rustic charm but doesn't feel dingey or musty. It is a beautiful space, the rooms are extremely spacious, and the courtyard area is wonderful! We were traveling with our 15-Month-old son and he had a great time running around the courtyard and had plenty of space to play and explore in the room. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone traveling to the area! It was also really nice to be so close to restaurants and markets.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, unique rooms and building
- 5/5
Suggest giving some love to the common area near the entry. Should be more inviting and should make people *want* to be there
- 5/5
Very nice and quiet. Love Annabelle!
- 5/5
The true gems of staying here are the staff! Every single front desk staff was so kind and helpful. I must single out Annabelle the resident cat too. Best hostess in rva and so polite. The hotel is quaint and quiet and clean. I love escaping the suburbs and enjoying some time in the city.
- 4/5
Nice change from big hotels

- 4/5
Great location for our concert trip. Parkimg was free and easy.
- 5/5
The beds are super comfy and we love to nostalgic feel of the inn. We especially loved our visits with the resident feline.
- 5/5
Had a lovely stay! Clean rooms. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
This is a lovely and historical boutique hotel. Spacious rooms, conscientious staff and great location. Will be even better once they open the restaurant.
- 5/5
Can't recommend Linden Row enough! I have been staying here a number of years now and its always consistent, clean, friendly staff and comfortable. Its the best value for the money in downtown Richmond, and feels like a little oasis there. Its close to Broad St, and has plenty of places within walking distance for food, shopping, nightlife, etc. Parking is right across the street, and safe.
- 4/5
I chose this partly based on being able to eat there but the restaurant was gone.
- 5/5
Very nice stay!
- 4/5
Property was lovely. It was very hot and the ac was unable to be changed from 75.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
This is a lovely historic property with very kind staff. My favorite part was the courtyard in the center of the various buildings
- 5/5
Beautiful old inn. Nice staff. Clean cute rooms. Great French restaurant down the street.
- 4/5
Hotel very historic and clean. The court yard needs to hide the trash cans. It would have been nice if they had pastries with the coffee for breakfast.
- 5/5
The property was very clean!
- 5/5
Linden Row is a beautiful property with historic charm. All the staff were very friendly and they were even able to check my in early. There is a nice sitting room and garden to relax in. My favorite part was meeting Annabelle, the hotel cat. Her and her sister were adopted by the hotel from the local shelter. Her sister didn't care much for the hotel life, but Annabelle loves it. I have a lot of respect for that. They appear to only have one vending machine and do not have any food service. I believe there is a cafe opening at some point in the future which will really bring this hotel to another level. I would definitely choose to stay here again.
- 4/5
Great for our concert stay. Easily walked to amphitheater. The room is big and was well maintained and clean for older building. The parking is a block over (basically across street) but you can park to load and unload.
- 5/5
We love our city! So much so that we decided to be tourists for a weekend. Linden Row hit the spot! A great historic and beautiful property.
- 4/5
The hotel is charming, and the staff is warm and welcoming. I gave the service 3 stars because our room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. It seems they may be short-staffed on weekends.
- 5/5
My room was comfortable clean and attractive. I arrived on the late side and was given clear directions on parking and places close by where I could get something to eat. Staying at the Linden Row Inn added a little historic interest to my short stay in Richmond.
- 4/5
The garden was quite escape to the city. I didnt like the parking situation. You have to park in parking garage and park in monthly to stay overnight or wake up and midnight and pay for the next day. Hotel front desk was sassy about questions we had about the parking. She was defensive. Parking is not through the hotel. Which we knew. We just needed advice. Front desk was lovely otherwise.
- 5/5
It is a unique, lovely, and charming hotel. Old style beautiful furniture with modern bathroom and great (and quiet) air conditioning in the room.
- 4/5
Location is great but would have liked to have known ahead of time about parking and unloading . Typically Expedia notified when I have to pay for parking off property and offers to pay ahead of time. Instructions on where to park were not that clear since there was only one entrance that was labeled monthly even tho you could enter there for daily
- 1/5
The property is well-maintained and exceptionally clean. The surrounding area is safe, quiet, and peaceful, with reliable internet access. However, my experience at reception was disappointing. During check-in, although I presented my ID first, the staff member asked for my surname without first sighting and verifying my identity from my passport. Her demeanor conveyed a sense of arrogance, as if she believed I should feel fortunate to be assisted by her, rather than approaching the interaction as a service-oriented hospitality professional. She did not offer the benefits that this hotel provides to platinum travelers. This attitude was off-putting and left a negative impression upon entering my room.
- 5/5
Very nice, historic inn.
- 4/5
This was a pretty cool and unique hotel. We stayed in one of the garden view rooms and thought it was cute and cozy. This hotel is interesting because the exterior is old and cool but the inside kind of feels like a hotel that could use some freshening up. The AC was loud, bathroom dark, and bed was shaky. For the location, the price was good. It felt safe and quiet. The person working at the front desk seemed utterly annoyed that we were there. She refused to give us restaurant recommendations if the restaurant was in another hotel but also wouldn’t really name any places to go. I mentioned one restaurant we heard about and she just laughed. We had to pry parking information out of her and she just kept telling us to look at the white papers with their curated experiences. The whole vibe was very odd.
- 5/5
Room was super clean and the property was in a great location, featured historical grounds
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful property, huge rooms with high ceilings and an abundance of old world charm.
- 5/5
This place was amazing! Will definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Excellent hotel to enjoy a visit in Richmond.
- 5/5
The garden overlook was our favorite part!
- 5/5
Comfortable, pleasant and clean facilities
- 5/5
I was meeting a friend that I hadn't seen in many years! The staff was welcoming and the Inn was beautiful! We slept great. The room was quiet. We loved the courtyard and sat to talk for hours! We had a little trouble navigating the parking lot but figured it out! The neighborhood was very quiet and we appreciated breakfast and dinner recommendations as well as the the amazing find of Stella's Grocery and a girls dinner night in. Would recommend the Linden Row Inn!
- 4/5
Friendly traditional inn
- 5/5
Very unique with a relaxing courtyard
- 5/5
Unique property, easy check in and friendly staff.
- 4/5
The property is basically good to very good. I was put in an adjunct building with stairs and inconveniences for luggage. The toilet had issues as did the in room fridge that was loud when the compressor was engaged. Friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
I loved the large room, garden area and the precious cat Annabelle!
- 5/5
Lovely set of converted Row houses with updated amenities and bathrooms but keeping the older charm of each unit. There are inside parlor rooms with porches as well as outside smaller rooms rumoured to be the place Edgar Allen Poe wrote the Raven. Lovely seating areas inside and outside in courtyards with fountains, greenery and complete safety. Anabelle the Cat owns the entire place and intermingled with guests of her choosing. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Restaurant is closed but hopes to open next year. Towels, Beds, pillows are high-end. Very nice experience. Parking is sparce out front but 30 minutes loading is plenty of time to check in, then move to a parking garage.
- 5/5
Love the house cat!
- 5/5
- 5/5
Linden Row Inn is a quirky hotel with individually unique rooms in a set of restored row houses. If you like history, you will find it interesting. It was clean and well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Great place to stay in Richmond!
- 5/5
This is in a great location and very charming. The room was spacious. It had antiques.
- 5/5
Nice hotel if going to a show at the amphitheater. Within walking distance.
- 5/5
We loved the room. The beds were super comfy. Everything was extremely clean. The inn is kept up very nicely. It’s a great location. There is a paid parking garage across the street, and I think it was $7/day.
- 5/5
The only confusion we had upon arrival was parking. We must’ve circled the block 6-7 times missing the loading/unloading zone because it was full. The nearby parking garage said monthly parking which didn’t sound like the right place to park. I didn’t know it, but the email with all this info was sent to me 2 hours prior to check in, and due to travel and how busy we were, I wasn’t checking email that close to check in. However once we got a spot in the loading zone, staff handed us directions to the parking garage at check in which ended up being the monthly garage, so that was what confused us as the website doesn’t mention the monthly parking. The wedding party blocked the garage entrance however, so feel wedding parties need be told the garage is for everyone. I would recommend this hotel though, we enjoyed our stay!
- 5/5
Had a lovely stay at Linden Row Inn. Very quaint and cozy. You almost forget you're in the middle of the city. Nearby garage parking was reasonable (~$7/day). Nearby restaurants are within walking distance. The room was clean and had expected amenities. The bathroom could use some extra care (the drop ceiling tiles appeared to have water damage, the shower was dark). Of course it is an old building so some aging is expected. The room we stayed in was restored beautifully though with antique furniture, beautiful fireplaces (non-working), and chandeliers. There is a lovely courtyard to spend time in with the hotel's sweet cat for company. Would definitely recommend.
- 3/5
This hotel has great potential. The people are very nice. However, it really needs to be updated. It also needs to figure out how to have food and beverage. The park situation is a bit of a disaster.
- 5/5
J at the front desk was most pleasant and showed exception customer service. I felt so welcomed!
- 3/5
The staff is lovely, The area is convenient and nice, The hotel is clean, a bit in need of updates. There is no food, no snack, nothing but coffee and a shared water container at the front lobby. BYO! Any food is a 7 minute walk. I felt safe and comfortable.
- 5/5
really clean and organized and love the style of the room
- 5/5
The front desk at check in and check out was wonderful! I didn’t get either staff names, but they were both friendly and nice guys. I loved everything about the Inn. The spacious suite, the outside rocking chairs, and being able to walk to shopping and restaurants. I will definitely be back soon for another city getaway.
- 5/5
This hotel is so cute and quaint but also spacious. The beds were super comfortable and the room is pretty big. The bathroom is nice although the water pressure isn't great. The front desk staff is very nice and we love the courtyards. It's also really well located in a walkable neighborhood. And yes, the cat is adorable.
- 5/5
Great.
- 4/5
Nice location, historic building, friendly hotel cat!
- 5/5
The staff was great and property was unique - not a typical hotel.
- 2/5
Parking Lot is a block away in a dark, not so nice neighborhood. The place was old and smelled. Tv volume not working, no vent in bathroom, dirty flooring, etc.
- 5/5
Love this well-located Richmond hotel. Spotless, comfortable, complimentary coffee and cold drinks. Beautiful downstairs sitting room with rotating exhibits of local artists. We stay here whenever we come to Richmond to visit our daughter and are never disappointed.
- 4/5
Noisy neighbor upstairs

Beautiful property with spacious, comfortable rooms. Garage parking available within one block, 30 minutes checkin/out parking at hotel doors. The staff is fantastic! And there’s a cat.

Loved reading the history and the extra touches in the room like the Edgar Allan Poe book. We enjoyed our stay, hot shower and comfy beds! Easy walk to the amphitheater for our concert.

The staff was wonderful, but the property is not in great condition, and strong smells of smoke and vape in common areas and hallways.

Hotel could use some updating.
