The only issue I had was that breakfast did not start til almost 7 am and I wanted to put something in my stomach before I had to head out. Otherwise the stay was WONDERFUL

My family & I stayed at the Hyatt House for a volleyball tournament. The location was perfect- several eateries, a upscale shopping center and grocery stories right next door. The free buffet breakfast was full or options and yummy. The only complaint was one elevator was down which was a bummer.

I would not recommend staying at the Hyatt House in Short Pump, Virginia. We have stayed at the Hyatt House in Short Pump numerous times over the last three years while visiting our daughter in college. While most of our stays have been pleasant enough, our most recent two stays were not enjoyable. The hotel has been undergoing renovations for the last few months. This has impacted our last two stays. The noise from the renovations and the reduction in elevator service made the stay less enjoyable. During our last visit we were forced to move rooms by the hotel because of some issue with the water system. When we asked the hotel manager on duty for some consideration for the inconvenience of having to move on short notice, he said the hotel could not do anything since we booked through Expedia. Fair enough, so we reached out to Expedia. Expedia could not get the hotel to respond, so they ended up taking care of the situation. The final straw was an incidental charge by the hotel for something that we did not use that showed up on our credit card statement. We plan to visit the Richmond area many more times in the future, however we will not return to the Hyatt House in Short Pump. I would not recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in Short Pump. There are plenty of other nice hotels to choose from.

This is really not fault on the hotel's part, but the facility was under construction while I was there. The management did everything possible to minimize the interruption, but there was still the inconvenience of having only one elevator for guest use. This will not be a forever thing though.

This location is under construction. The bathroom was outdated and the bed was lopsided, but the room was clean. The elevator was extremely slow and the lobby smelled like paint and ammonia which triggered my allergies

I arrived and was informed that there was construction on the 4th and 6th floors. I asked about noise and the desk person said there would be noise beginning at 7:30 in the morning. the whole point of my stay was to rest in the morning. He moved me, he said, as far away from the construction as he could. It did not work! The hammering began at 8AM and it was right over my head. Could not even drown it out with headphones. I gave up and had to leave. I am reaching out to find out what compensation I can receive for this horrible experience.

Hotel was undergoing renovations and had a leak in the ceiling of the lobby. Staff was really nice though and the room was clean.

The room itself was uncomfortable. The air conditioner barely worked, leaving the room hot most of the time. The bathroom had a sliding door that wouldn’t stay closed, which offered little privacy. It was also very noisy throughout our stay. Hot water was another issue. It took about 20 minutes of running it on high just to get it lukewarm. Both the sink and shower drained extremely slowly. To top it off, the bed was uncomfortable, and the sheets and pillows felt rough and scratchy. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

Room appliance includes air conditioner and refrigerator were very noisy during the night and I haven’t seen such that noisy appliances before. They looked like old .

This hotel is beautiful, staff...welcoming and an "warm" atmosphere. Greeted by Steve at the front desk who was attentive and gave great details at check on. Leaving no room for questions. A lovely place to stay.

This place was breathtaking! Our family of four stayed there. Our favorites were the concierge (so sweet), the history of the building, the game room (with tons of outdoor seating), and the views from our place on the 30th floor. The location was great as well. We felt completely safe in the building with two littles. The only thing we would have changed was the reservation process. $500 deposit and photos with our ids made us uneasy. Overall, this is gem and we will definitely be back!

The hotel was very clean, and a beautiful place to stay. However, we were woken up to the loudest noises from doing construction with no warning that they were doing construction on a Saturday. It was very annoying to the point that we got ready and left.

When I got up the next morning t found two what they call (stink bugs) crawling in the bathroom and I got them up with toilet tissue and flushed them down the toilet and when returning to the bed there was one crawling on the beautiful white blanket on the bed. I hit it with my shoe it fell dead on the floor... this was reported to the front desk and the clean technician verified it... while on the phone with the nurse getting information on my husband who was the reason of my stay, because we traveled the day before 2 hours to the Richmond VA hospital for spinal surgery the fire alarm system rang out and I had to rush and grab everything and leave long before check out time.... also it was major renovations going on in the hotel.... it was just a bad experience under the circumstances, worried about my husband and I ended up with an asthma sitting in my truck in the ice and snow covered ground watching the fire department....

I've stayed at this hotel on several occasions when visiting my daughter in Richmond, and it's always been a pleasant experience. The room with the kitchen is functional. The hotel is conveniently located near the Short Pump Mall. And I will definitely book for a future stay.

I loved the breakfast and the cleanliness! I hated the dumb check in policy. Even if you’re there 45 minutes before check in and the room is ready they charge you an extra fee for “early check in” I can see charging a fee for checking in 3 or 4 hours early but absolutely not for an hour especially if the room is not in use. I’ve absolutely never been to a place where if the room was ready they wouldn’t give it to you. What do they benefit from making you wait for check in. There was even a guy that came in after me and tried to check in 20 mins early and they wouldn’t let him without paying as well! It was ridiculous!!

I think everything was amazing! I really want to give a big shout out to Connor, he really helped us when he was on call at the desk! My friend and I are both visually impaired and he was able to come up and help us with things like the TV and getting to our room when we checked in and just everything and that made it an amazing stay knowing thatthere was somebody there that cared enough to help us out and not just point and tell us to go. On Sunday morning very early. I want to give another shout out to Abby, she was able to get us an extended check out and when I called in the morning because we needed a couple more hours, she was able to accommodate that as well, she will never know how helpful that was to me! There was no pool

The most serious incident occurred one night when other guests entered our room while we were getting dressed. They somehow had a working key to our room. We never received a phone call or any explanation from management. Instead, a bartender came to our door with a new set of keys, saying the front desk sent them. This situation was alarming and completely unacceptable. Eggs were overcooked, you can slice it with knife. The coffee was extremely poor quality—basically warm, colored water where you could see the bottom of the cup. The general manager never contacted us to address any of these issues. Overall, this stay was disappointing and raised serious concerns about cleanliness, safety, and management response.

I had forgotten to bring my makeup remover and was quite surprised that they had a little complimentary makeup remover wipe among the little soap and lotion that they provide. I was pleasantly surprised, and it helped me until I buy some the next day.

Great location for meeting our friends from out of town. It was under renovations and only one slow elevator. Water turned off intermittently. When on had an odd smell. Hair dryer needs replacement switch didn’t work.

The room was in good condition. But the keypad to enter the room kept falling off the door and then when I took it to the front desk and told them I had concerns about it, they said oh nobody can get into the room but the whole keypad was off to the door so he was able to take the battery out to deactivate the lock so me and my daughter did not feel safe.

The hotel was one of the most beautiful ones we have stayed in. The location was great! Of the 2 elevators only 1 worked. For the price of the hotel one would think they would have more modern upgrades, they only had 1 USB plug in the entire suite.

Location was pretty good, at mall and close to many food possibilities The rooms are old, not very clean and our room had black mold where the AC vent is! When I told about this at the front desk, they offered me a free Hyatt loyalty program entry. The gym has loooots of black mold too. 290$ for night in such poor conditions and moldy, smelly room is way too much. After I checked out they tried to book 12$ from my credit card and haven’t replied at my message why and for what.

Hotel is excellent the issue was finding the hotel directions are lacking and the young man I could could k ly tell to to ask the GPR he could not identify anything around the hotel. Good part I found the other Hyatt and the gentleman at that hotel gave me perfect directions.

The hotel looked great and the location was perfect. The only problem I had was that the shower didn’t have enough water pressure and the bathroom floor tiles were loose due to water damage.

Great hotel location. The room was nice with a full size fridge and a small cooking area too. The one complaint is that all night long I heard doors slamming because the room doors slam shut and are pretty loud. Normally we stay across the highway at the aloft. It’s also another great option in the area.

This was my 1st time staying here & it for sure won’t be my last!! Everything about this property was amazing. I love how it has everything you need around it in walking distance, & how you can literally go on a shopping spree & walk your bags back to your room. The complimentary breakfast was amazing it wasn’t your average “breakfast included” meal it was fine dining to me & I’ve never witnessed anything like it before. The staff was amazing even with us having a late check in they gave us no problems what so ever. I can literally go on for hours about how nice & comfortable & convenient this place was. Thank you Hyatt House at Short Pump you’ll definitely be seeing us again !! 🤗🤗🤗

This was my 1st time staying here & it for sure won’t be my last!! Everything about this property was amazing. I love how it has everything you need around it in walking distance, & how you can literally go on a shopping spree & walk your bags back to your room. The complimentary breakfast was amazing it wasn’t your average “breakfast included” meal it was fine dining to me & I’ve never witnessed anything like it before. The staff was amazing even with us having a late check in they gave us no problems what so ever. I can literally go on for hours about how nice & comfortable & convenient this place was. Thank you Hyatt House at Short Pump you’ll definitely be seeing us again !! 🤗🤗🤗

The property was nice—very clean. Staff was very courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was okay. Food was what you expect for breakfast included. Sometimes ran out of glasses, utensils, or juice. Parking could be challenging. No designated hotel parking—had to hunt down spots in mall parking. Not a problem after 7 pm.

I have been staying in this hotel for 20+ years. It is a great location but is starting to show it’s age. Time for a facelift.

The front desk staff was not polite nor helpful. The beds were very old, and uncomfortable. The pillows were soooo bad. Nice room and layout but wouldnt stay again du to comfort level.

Our room/floor was very quiet, clean and well appointed. Desk staff are very attentive and friendly. The breakfast is the best of any hotel we’ve stayed at and the set up is superb. We live in the blue ridge mountains and come to Richmond a couple times a year. This is our favorite spot and really feel comfortable at this hotel.

Staff was wonderful. Sink was broken but they fixed it. Bathroom was dirty but they re-cleaned it. Mattresses were horrible and need to be replaced.

This was not our first time staying at this hotel because we love it being right in Short Pump town center mall very convenient if you have a little children, lots of things to do. But this day was not as pleasant as our other stays unfortunately… When we walked in the room, it was 88° and having MS our bodies do not handle heat like that very well. The room was extremely small, I think one of the smallest rooms we’ve ever had. The heat took forever to drop. I think the lowest it dropped to was 76. There were a lot of basketball tournaments that weekend, so I understand the busyness of everything so we kinda look past it. But I don’t think we will be staying again anytime soon. We will have to take a little break.

Nice place for a quick overnight stop. Plenty to do in the area. We did not stay so much around the hotel because there was a big party going on downstairs. Breakfast was nice with a lot of options.

It was close to EVERYTHING!!!! Food, shopping, gas and major highways. Staff was excellent, Breakfast was good….only one thing was wrong it has no pool. But other than that it’s a very good hotel. And the bed was great to sleep in!!! I was out like a baby lol

It was good very comfortable and nice and clean very polite workers and nice customer service but the only thing was my bathroom slide door was broken that was my only struggle but overall everything was good.

Main furniture uncomfortable though King bed very nice.

Customer service is always great from the staff but in particular during this stay Ms. Deborah, the housekeeper was ver helpful and pleasant.

Perfect location for shopping and food. The staff were excellent and friendly the rooms were clean and comfortable!

We were there for a baseball tournament.

Zero service at hotel. No one came to our room for the 4 days we were there. Had to ask for bathroom towels several times before we got them. Old property that’s not in good shape. One elevator working for a 6 story building so every trip up or down was an unpleasant experience. Wouldn’t stay there again.

I was quite disappointed since we had planned on staying there for seven days, reduced it to six, but would've reduced it further if our plans could accommodate that.

Rooms have a musty smell

Perfect location, walkable to so many great restaurants, shops. Spacious clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Front desk staff always great us when we come in or go out. Great hotel!

When we arrived early we were asked if we reserved with a third party (Expedia), then were told we would receive a text when the room was ready. Shortly after, I received notice my credit card had been charged, but still no text. We waited two more hours, finally returning at 4:00, and were allowed to check in. The new clerk apologized for never texting, but we question if using a third party contributed. Upon check out, the clerk would not provide a receipt stating that I would have to get it from Expedia.

The staff was wonderful and the property is in a really nice mall, but the first night we were kept awake by music literally ALL night long. I called the front desk at 4am to ask if there was a night club in the hotel that might be the source and was told no, and the girl at the front desk said she would check the parking lot. The music stopped about 5am. Unsavory behavior in the parking lot? An inconsiderate guest somewhere in the hotel? We never found out. Also it might be worth noting that at 7:30PM I tried to take a shower and there was no hot water. Again the front desk didn't have an explanation, but by 9pm I was able to take a hot shower. Overall, not a very restful stay.

Liked the proximity to the mall. Did not like that the courtyard area closed at 8pm.

Hotel check in staff was rude. Room was dirty. Furniture damaged. Overpriced for value. Would never recommend to anyone that they stay there.

The rooms were antiquated, the mattress was okay, I didn’t like how they folded the sheets over the comforter. I would definitely stay there again. The staff was nice and I loved that each room had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. It was ver convenient for me and my family.

It was amazing! Our bed was so comfortable! Everything was clean, I needed a couple extra pillows and they were delivered immediately! I've had other hotel chain's tell me that they didn't have any extra pillows! So it was a pleasant experience being able to get 2 extra pillows! Lol The staff were amazing!

Exceeded expectations

Location was great. The only problem I had was not cleaning the room. I was there Monday-Friday and never had my room cleaned. Someone knock on my door Wednesday and asked if I needed anything but that was all. I had to ask for coffee packets daily.

A good place to stay surrounded by all types of stores.

The property is lovely with a nice breakfast. The challenge was that our room was not ready on arrival. Check in is 1600, we arrived at 1630. For this type of property this is now what we would expect.

Was there for my Anniversary, was a great area. All kinds of Shopping and Restaurants. Rooms were nice and spacious.

The room was clean and comfortable, the location excellent to my conference, and walkable to several restaurants, and the breakfast was a good start to the day.

This was our second stay at Hyatt House Short Pump Town Center. The room is well laid out and the bed is comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. Some minor negatives. The lobby, both times, had an odd odor to it, not welcoming. The lighting over the vanity/sink was not bright enough. The chicken sausage was not good, tasteless and tough around the edges. Otherwise, being connected to the mall was a huge advantage over the local competition!

Breakfast was good. Staff was pleasant. I didn't like that this hotel sat in the parking lot of a busy mall. I couldn't enjoy the fire on the patio in the evenings, not only did they shut the patio at 8pm every night but the fire was never even lit. People like to enjoy a fire at night so it makes no sense that they close the patio before dark!

Overall this hotel is nice, it is literally located in the shopping center not the out skirt of the shopping center. Parking could be better, there are like 6 designated hotel parking spots, so if you stay here you are fighting for parking with shoppers. Our room was nice, only complaint was our bathroom sink would not properly drain, so anytime I washed my face or hands it literally took 5 minutes for the water to drain. I made the front desk aware about 2 hours before our checkout so they could send someone after we left, nope sent them while we were out of the room and zero communication that someone was coming so imagine our surprise to walk in and theres a stranger in the room with personal belongings everywhere. The breakfast they offer is okay, standard, could have better options, things tasted greasy or like oil.

An overnight stay to go to the theatre. Hyatt was clean, up to date, and accommodating. We enjoyed it.

The check-in was quick however our keys did not work at first. Staff member was quick to make new keys and brought them up to the room. The room was not very clean. It was dusty and the bathroom had mold on the caulk around tub. Also, there was a hair in the sink. Yuck! Otherwise it was a quick area just to sleep for the night. Glad we only had the one night.

Very clean and quiet. Loved that they allow dogs. We didn't take ours put enjoyed meeting the dog that was staying there.

The A/C did not work well all night. We were exhausted the next day!
