We only stayed here one night - 5/31/26. We needed a stopping point traveling I95 with our Rottie. They do charge an additional $7 per night parking fee apparently even though Expedia listed the room with free parking and they do charge a $75 per fee. However, the hotel and our room were extremely clean - the cleanest hotel I have seen in a long time. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and I am extremely picky. It was easy to get to off of I95. The lobby and dining area were nicely maintained and designed.

Great$ thanks

Awesome stay! Great breakfast, clean room, nice staff
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my time here. I had to stay two nights and commute to DC for a memorial service. The staff was so kind, accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend this location.
- 5/5
Wonderful breakfast spread, immaculate room and super comfy bed.
- 4/5
When I pulled up to the entrance, I saw a lady arriving with a bag of food. I thought nothing of it. When I went to the check-in desk, there was no attendant. I called out, looked around, and in the dining area--no one responded. I thought this is weird, so I waited, and after about ten minutes, the lady I watched entering the lobby with a bag of food was actually the customer service attendant. I'm guessing she left to get food or had someone deliver food to her in the parking lot. She was absolutely unconcerned when she saw the other two customers and me waiting. Very poor customer service. I was too tired to engage with her.

Hotel was nice, clean & continental breakfast was pretty good. Both elevators seemed like they may breakdown at any minute. One of them rattled loudly upon arriving at our floor- every time. I took the stairs after a few times.

The elevator being broke and not working made the stay undesirable.
- 5/5
We enjoyed a quiet well appointed room in spite of a full house, ample parking, a wonderful free and spacious breakfast room and one of my fav amenities....instant hot water from the faucets in the bathroom !

Mattress was great! I didn't like that I was charged for parking

Only one elevator worked. The pool was covered when we arrived. A couple of days later the cover was removed only to reveal brown, scummy water. My reservation said “in season swimming” but this pool needed a major cleaning. Staff friendly.

Also, I tried to cancel the reserv. the day before and they said it had to be thru Expedia. But Expedia said it had to be thru the hotel. Very frustrating

Breakfast was wiped out and not restocked from 07:00-8:00, at the time I was there. I had been counting on the continental breakfast prior to attending a conference at this hotel. I do not know how the breakfast area was prior to or after that time. A large number of elderly tourists were there. Because the people on the tour had prior reservations to stay overnight, you’d think the hotel would have prepared to stock the breakfast area appropriately. I noticed many of the people on the tour were shorted on breakfast, as well. They had to get back on the bus by 8:00am and went without breakfast. I wondered how often this happens at this location. Driving around looking for restaurants was not convenient but was left with fast food or gas station options.

Very clean hotel I didn't like the way the hotel kept trying to charge the card before we arrived cuz we both do booking but overall the state was nice the facility was clean breakfast was nice
- 5/5
Beautiful customer service very nice and clean loved it
- 4/5
IT glitch meant delays in checking in and obtaining room keys. Other than that, a good stay.
- 3/5
Clean rooms, but poor water flow in the shower and very loud hallways. The doors are heavy and make a great deal of noise when closed. I could also hear the elevator ringing constantly when called to our level.
- 4/5
All was good except the elevators. Only one of 2 worked and I felt very uncomfortable riding it as it did not go to the correct floor and shook violently when stopping
- 4/5
The room was nice. Mostly what you expect of a Hampton Inn. One elevator was out of order, and the one working elevator sounded like it might need repair as well. Cracked flooring in dining area that needs replacement. Also, the water in our shower took a good 7 minutes to get warm despite being turned to full heat. Other than those few items, it was a good stay.
- 5/5
Breakfast was awesome. Room was clean
- 5/5
This hotel is recently renovated and feels like a brand new hotel!
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and offered to help without us having to ask, seems small, but that’s becoming more and more rare the days. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was good and the food service area kept very clean! I would recommend and stay here again.
- 5/5
I stayed on the first floor, I could smell the breakfast traveling through the walls. Breakfast was lovely.
- 5/5
Dommage, petit déjeuner basique. Je recommande
- 4/5
Breakfast - would have preferred eggs not to have meat
- 5/5
Room was clean and bright. Staff was friendly and receptive
- 3/5
AC was leaking water. Reported to front desk and we were promised a different room because tech couldn’t fix it. Left for an appointment and when we returned, another staff at the front desk didn’t believe us when we asked for a different room. She went to the room and confirmed it was leaking but said there was no availability. She then contacted the staff from the previous shift and confirmed everything. Finally found another room. It was a frustrating experience and made us feel we were lying. We were tired and wanted to rest but had to wait at the front desk to deal with this issue. The issue was poorly managed and left us with a bad taste.
- 5/5
staff was absolutely the best!
- 3/5
They SIGNIFICANTLY overcharge for amenities - $9 for a bottle of water. OUTRAGEOUS
- 5/5
I was to move into an apartment Sunday. On Sat afternoon the landlord called & said it won't be ready until Monday!! T'Keshia at the front desk was wonderful. She rebooked me for another night--even made sure I didn't have to change rooms. Separate bill....So I could bill the landlord. Just so sweet and accommodating. Made a very stressful situation easy to deal with. Wish I had her for the move in!!
- 5/5
The room was clean. The hotel itself was clean. Breakfast was very good and the area was kept clean by the staff. The fitness center was clean and had good equipment. The stand out of the trip was T’Kiesha (forgive my spelling) she was awesome. She was friendly and attentive. That girl can run a hotel. She was 100/10 in my book. Was an overall great stay.
- 5/5
Your front staff was amazing those three ladies were helpful, attentive it felt like talking and laughing with family. I will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Friendly staff and clean room. Nice continental breakfast too.

Clean room and very friendly staff

We had a quick overnight stay and found almost everything to our liking. The only drawback was that Prime TV was not offered through their steaming services. That wouldn't keep me from staying here again. Overall, a very comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Love this area and the hotel has had major renovations! Great place to stay! Staff is great and friendly

- 5/5
Friendly staff. Modern, clean facilities. Excellent breakfast.
- 5/5
The breakfast had a variety of fruit, oatmeal, breads, hot offerings with eggs, potatoes and some type of meat. They also had the waffle maker and fresh juice. There was also a variety of herbal teas and varieties of coffee. I was very pleased with their selections.
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 2/5
Room was good for the price. Breakfast was limited. Parking was very limited after 8pm as it is a shared space with another hotel & I had to park at the back. Worst of all, a hockey tournament was in suite in the hallway of the 3rd floor and continued until the wee hours of the morning on my shared wall with a puck hitting the wall and hockey sticks scraping the floor. I had to call the front desk and try to see where the noise was coming from
- 5/5
Very nice hotel, clean room, staff was very helpful, breakfast was good.
- 4/5
Room was clean, toiletries in room were perfect. There is a gym. Front desk staff friendly and professional. We had a room on the first floor near the lobby and it was very quiet. The hotel is going thru renovations and the breakfast area was blocked off from the lobby, but the work did not take place until after breakfast. No interruptions
- 5/5
courteous staff, great breakfast, clean room
- 5/5
All of the above
- 4/5
All good. Water for shower was warm but not hot …disappointing
- 5/5
good new facilities
- 5/5
We had a good stay. Room and bathroom were nice. Staff was pleasant to talk with. For a newer hotel found it a little noisy. Maybe because of some of the rude people slamming doors and running hallway. The toilet flushing or people coughing, talking of the room next to us, well thats a design flaw.
- 5/5
The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. Positive experience!
- 5/5
King Suite was great layout and very spacious. Beds comfortable. Hotel was exceptionally clean and front desk welcoming. Great location just a short drive to Short Pump Restaurants & shopping.
- 4/5
I wish I could remember her name, but the woman that was at the receptionist desk was so pleasant! The room was clean. The only negatives were that the mattress was a little hard and the bathroom had a weird smell on the second day.
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff.
- 3/5
Overall average stay. Clean rooms. Biggest issues were poor water pressure in shower and sink and the sink faucet handle not staying in the on position.
- 5/5
Rooms are very clean

Quick and easy check in and check out. Clean and safe room. Comfortable beds and pillows. Clean bathroom. Quiet room. Great location.

I have stayed in different Hampton inns and this one was probably the best one that I've ever stayed in. The room we were in was big. It was very clean. The assistant manager was great. The breakfast was great and it was dog friendly.
- 2/5
Ran out of toilet paper. No tissues. Room never made up.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, very clean and recently renovated.
- 5/5
Very clean and modern. Only criticism was that Housekeeping only came every other day
- 5/5
Clean room, staff very helpful, professional and pleasant.
- 5/5
The only issue we experienced the first morning was that there were people sitting near the front desk for at least an hour, talking loudly. We could hear them at 6:30am in our first floor room. Second morning was not a problem.
- 5/5
We stayed for a few nights while we were visiting our daughter in Virginia. Great location. Very clean, which is a must for me. Nice staff. We will probably use this as our go-to hotel while in Richmond.
- 4/5
Good choice for breakfast.

Great value. Recently renovated. Free Parking. Breakfast included.

That price was verrrrryyyy good for that hotel. I’d stay there every time I come to Richmond!
- 5/5
T’Keisha at the front desk is phenomenal! She went above and beyond to accommodate my last-minute request and make me feel welcome and comfortable here. The hotel is beautiful and in a super convenient location in the area. Great spot!

Very clean. Friendly, professional front desk staff

Excellent property! Will stay here again.

This was a great stop in our way South. We checked in at 1am and were greeted cheerfully. After being up almost 24 hours we were happy to have a clean, comfortable place to sleep. Breakfast the next morning had plenty of options. When I checked out the young lady at the desk was just as friendly as the man the night before. Must be good management to have happy employees. My only note to travelers with children is beware of the shower doors. They are very heavy and slide fast for little fingers to get crushed.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable rooms.

Nice hotel
- 3/5
Only 1 elevator worked and there was a leak in the hall with a bucket in the hall
- 3/5
The hotel was ok. I rented two rooms. It was the little things that didn’t work that bothered me. In one room, the iron, tv remote, and some of the electrical outlets were bad. In the other room the bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way.
- 5/5
Very nice place to stay!!! Loved the pool too!!
- 5/5
Great stay and very friendly, helpful staff, especially at the front desk
- 5/5
Nice, clean, and comfortable.

The room was amazing tv screen had my name on it which I never experienced in any other place
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable. Front desk was friendly and informative- really nice and helpful.
- 5/5
Nice hotel, clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Quality. Definitely recommend.
- 5/5
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
It was a great stay. They look to be just finishing a remodel. I would stay here again
- 4/5
Although clearly still finishing up the work, the newly renovated Hampton was lovely and comfortable. When the lobby and bar are complete, it should be an even better place to stay. The rooms are modern and the walk-in shower was great feature.
- 4/5
Only complaint is that I was locked out the room at one point and needed my key reactivated. Everything else was good. Would return and hopefully get in the pool
- 5/5
Newly renovated room, clean, spacious and friendly staff in the lobby
- 5/5
Expedia messed up my reservation. The GM Alexandra was amazing and handled everything with compassion and understanding. Thank you very much!
- 5/5
Great stay!
- 5/5
Great over night stay
- 5/5
Nice breakfast
- 5/5
Clean and quiet. Would stay again if in Richmond area.
- 5/5
Right now property is undergoing renovations so it is not in its best condition, which is the reason for 4 stars on some ratings. We had no complaints about the business.
- 5/5
The renovations are nice!
- 5/5
The Staff was excellent. Had to deal with water being out and renovation being done in the lobbby and area where they serve breakfast. Overall it was still good.
- 5/5
Despite being in the middle of a renovation the property was clean, the staff was very friendly, and the stay was fantastic.
- 3/5
This includes only advertising the reduced breakfast menu! We paid for the full menu, hot food options, and were VERY disappointed. Again, why should I trust you in the future when you didn't trust me enough to let me know about the reduction in service?
- 2/5
Walked in, The gentleman helping us was pleasant, but it was obvious the place was under construction (this was unknown, no transparency). He was only able to give me one room key due to lack of keys (very inconvenient with a family of four) . The room air conditioner didn't seem like it was working well. I had to pull the filters and clean them myself for better air flow (they were clogged). The sink handle wouldn't stay up (you had to hold it up while washing one hand otherwise it would shut off). The place was a straight up mess! It was very disappointing to say the least. I stayed at a different hotel on the way back (less reputable) that was cheaper and nicer. Like I said very Disappointing.
- 2/5
I can’t say it wasn’t clean or comfortable. What I can say is my breakfast consisted of toast both days (wasn’t informed of the “renovations” limiting breakfast) and they booked my 7 year old and I, who were on a long trip and were exhausted in a room on top of someone’s sweet 16 going on downstairs, and the bass made our room shake like it was getting beat with hammers. Be sure to check that they don’t book you in that room on top of the teen club and make sure they didn’t take out the hot breakfast for some reason I’m not sure of (it didn’t look like they were renovating the breakfast area, just the front desk), and I guess you’re fine. We received no word on any of this in advance. Really unexpected from Hampton Inn.
- 2/5
The room was okay, but the breakfast provided was unacceptable. There was very little on offer (because of construction going on in their foyer, they said), 2 cereals, some yogurts, and stale bread. It was the worst breakfast I've ever seen at a hotel.
- 4/5
I don’t like the situation now. The hotel is renovating so don’t comfortable to eat breakfast.
- 5/5
Hamptons are always nice.
- 1/5
Arrived 1.5 hours before check in time. Attendant was surly with a bad attitude. At 8:00 PM the fire alarm sounded and the hotel was evacuated. The fire dept. arrived but no explanation was given customers. Breakfast was strickly grab and go stuff. No cooked breakfast except oatmeal. At check out I like to return the key cards and check my bill. The attendant was on the phone talking to a person that didn't understand why the hotel wouldn't accept her credit card. Wait for some time then just left the hotel to put our suit casees in our car. Before driving off I went bank inside to the check in desk and the attendant was still talking on the phone. I gave up and left.
- 4/5
Parking lot doesn't have enough spaces. Major construction going on in the lobby. Staff was good.
- 3/5
It would have been nice to know in advance that they were under construction and there was no hot breakfast. I would have definitely cancelled my stay and gone somewhere else. Faucet was almost broken in bathroom. Staff were very friendly but I felt like I was in reno zone, even on the fourth floor.
- 4/5
Because of renovations and no know knowledge of the way cleaning services works.Makes it hard to rate overall stay.
- 2/5
Parking can be an issue because the parking space is shared by two hotels.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel however the breakfast options were limited
- 3/5
If l had known the property was under renovation. I would have never stayed. There,
- 1/5
They would not let me check in without my physical ID, even though I had my work ID, a picture of my drivers license and an email from DMV showing that I requested a new one (misplaced my old one). I have stayed here a bunch of times in the past since work in the neighborhood but live 1.5 hrs away. I won’t be staying again.
- 5/5
The property was being renovated but it was still nice and clean staff was friendly.
- 5/5
One negative and odd thing was the full size fridge that looked new was not working though we really didn’t need it for our one night stay
- 4/5
The stay was very nice. However there was construction going on. It was hard getting through the main entrance. There should have been another way to go in and out during the construction.
- 4/5
It was nice with the exception of renovations being done at the time.
- 4/5
The room was clean and well designed; the bed comfortable
- 4/5
To lock the door, I had to slam it shut. The front desk receptionist explained that the gasket in the door frame was incorrect and needed replacement. This was a security concern. Otherwise, it is a very nice hotel in a convenient location.
- 1/5
Hotel was under construction. They were working very late and very early. Very very noisy. It sounded like they were hammering in our room. The boy working at the front desk was very rude. Went to the desk for help and he was outside smoking. Twice! I had a reservation for three nights. After the first night I tried to cancel because of this bad experience but they would not let me. Not a happy guest
- 5/5
Hotel room on the 4th floor was renovated and in pristine shape. Great stay in a good location. We have stayed here several time and is always a great place to stay.

Convenient for University of Richmond visit. Vallarta Mexican restaurant right across the street that was delicious and had a Mariachi band.
- 5/5
Hotel is being renovated and our room was very nice and huge. The breakfast was one of the best free hotel breakfasts I have had. Beds were comfortable. Very nice stay!
- 2/5
Staff never spoke or greated us. Property was under renovation which made it loud and noisy. This should have been disclosed prior to booking.
- 5/5
Currently upgrading, but the remodel is great! The elevator and hallways are still in remodel process, but my room was updated. The staff was so kind and friendly!
- 4/5
We have stayed here before and have always found our experience to be excellent. The desk staff were particularly good and friendly this time (as before), the room was clean and comfortable and the large TV was especially nice. he shower was very good, as was the bed. One criticism, a small one...the complimentary breakfast was good, but at a VA/southern hotel, I expected to have biscuits, but there weren't any on any of the mornings we ate there. This small improvement would make things nearly perfect for us; otherwise, I guess we will have to go to Waffle House for them.
- 5/5
Overall nice hotel. Some renovations going on but otherwise fine.
- 5/5
Check in was fine and the front desk staff was friendly. Comfortable bed and alot of space. Hotel is under renovations at the moment. Called back after I checked out because i never got my email receipt. Even though I paid there after changing cards. I hope everything gets squared away soon.
- 4/5
Very pleasant but under construction.
- 4/5
Room was very clean
- 3/5
Going through a renovation. Staff had to let us into our room the entire 2 days. Ver noisy due to the renovation.
- 3/5
Key maker was down, credit card machine down, lots of construction everywhere but still charging full price
- 4/5
The property is undergoing a restoration. We were in an older room that was missing tile in the bathroom, and just seemed tired.
- 5/5
Staff at front desk should at least look up and smile when a guest arrives.
- 1/5
Dated rooms , furniture, carpet and bathroom. Noise from renovation was annoying. This hotel was rated as Excellent by Expedia. It is at best a 2 star hotel.
- 5/5
Great property and very quiet.
- 5/5
Overall great stay.
