    We were there for family day with the Virginia State Police. The property was close to the academy and had plenty of options for dining close by. The property was nice, the room was clean and the staff was very nice and helpful.

    The place had a great vibe, good location, smelled great, was clean and appealing. The beds were comfortable, rooms clean, staff friendly. Breakfast was very good. Check in took a very, very long time. Please be aware the pool is very cold. I am so glad we didn't have my 6 year-old along for this trip or it would have been very disappointing for him.

    My husband and I came to this hotel after leaving another due to the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of another. It was a breath of fresh air. The elevator even smelled better. Room was clean. Bathroom was clean. Cute little Bluey stickers or the toilet paper and tissues (we don't even have kids and we thought it was cute). The shower was huge and really nice. Definitely wish we would've stayed here both of our nights in VA.

    The room, particularly the bathroom, was very clean. The staff was friendly. It's convenient to downtown Richmond and other Richmond suburbs (Midlothian and Chesterfield). Definitely recommend and will be staying again in the future.

    Rooms were very clean, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was very good with everything fresh. The lady assisting at breakfast was a bit less pleasant rather unfriendly, and you felt watched for every move you made near the breakfast area.

She gave me only one and said she had to keep the other extra blankets in case other guests requested one. I pointed out that it’s a hotel, and it is impossible to believe they didn’t have more than a couple of extra blankets. She refused my request again. She never sent someone up to look at the heater. My husband eventually went down and demanded a new room. We were eventually moved. All of this occurred between 10:45 and 11:30 pm.

    This was a terrible experience. I am amazed that Marriott would allow this dirty uncomfortable hotel under their name. The bed was hard. The pillows were flat. No one would bring us an extra towel. The room smelled like musky smoke. The parking was inconvenient. The pool was unsanitary and not at regulated levels of chlorine. People were camping out in the gym area. Breakfast was questionable. Yogurt and bagels was all they offered. I will never have my children in this establishment again.

    It sounded like acrobatics happening in the room above us, the evening and first thing in the morning!! And snoring from the room around us! Not sure which one, but it was LOUD!! Pool was cold/freezing. During cold seasonal months, pool should be heated.

    The location was good. The hotel was updated and looked nice. Free breakfast included. I was traveling for work and left early in the morning when it was still dark. ALL of their lights in the parking lot were off and it was pitch black! This is an unacceptable safety issue. When I asked the staff about this, they said there was nothing they could do about it. The hotel had a nice look, recently updated maybe? However, water pressure was awful and beds were hard. Wi-fi was only available if you agreed to sign up for an account with Marriott. I was only staying one night for business and I don't usually stay with Marriott so I didn't want to sign up for spam...no wifi for me.

I have stayed here twice, and in both instances an appliance in the room (one time the air conditioner and another time the lamp near the bed) did not work properly. The hotel doesn’t care. They are great at apologizing, but terrible at maintenance. The lamp next to bed has two power outlets and one of them did not work. I tried to use the other one and it appeared to work, but then I discovered that if something is plugged in and it moves even slightly then it will disconnect and this caused a big problem for me. I will never stay at this hotel again.

    We liked that we had a place to sleep. The room was clean. There was a ironing board and iron which we needed. The breakfast was very good and a decent selection of items. The walls were paper thin. The people above us sounded like Godzilla walking around. I could hear the people in the room on the other side snoring. The pool was cloudy looking and freezing cold, couldn't use it, the pool is one of the reasons we chose this hotel.

    This went from a lackluster stay to a downright bad one. Arrived on Friday night, we checked in, which was seamless having already prepaid online. We head up to the third floor and notice we've been assigned an ADA room. Fine, but unnecessary, and there were several other rooms available. The TV did not work. The water pressure was horrible--it was almost laughable and the water had a foul odor to it. With a wedding on Saturday, we woke up and as I began to get dressed, I noticed my clothes were soaking wet. I'd left my suitcase on the floor with a corner under the AC unit, which had poured out water--this was not a condensation leak. Two inches of pooled water was in my suitcase, and my Ferragamo loafers were soaked, with standing water in the heel. I went down to inform the front desk. I spoke with who I believed was the manager Gina. She apologized and said they'd have someone check on it and that she'd provide me "credits" for my stay. I had to rush down to DSW to buy a pair of replacement shoes ($110) prior to the 2 pm wedding. They never came to check on the AC at all--it leaked throughout the second night, which likely means its been in the carpet and likely grown into mold--lovely. They also don't make up the room. Their policy is every three days. I went down at checkout., No credits. Given a phone number to call to ask for manager Gina. It was the local front desk--Gina wasn't in on Sundays. Just a disaster and no assistance.

    Clean room. Busy area if you go anywhere you will hit multiple tolls. Breakfast was just okay but more of a show than a meal. Parking was easy. Staff was incredible.

    Not greeted by anyone even with lack of people in the lobby. Over ten minutes later I saw the young man in charge sitting in a chair with his feet up relaxing with a coworker. After getting his attention he handed me the keys for room #300. As I collected our luggage my wife called and told me that our “room” was occupied. Turned out the hotel assigned us the wrong room. The room was the best offered and looked like a standard room at any truck stop. Doors didn’t shut, dirty towels, thin walls, and a view of their dumpster seemed to be their best room. In the morning we were awoken by pounding on our door saying maintenance was needed. After explaining we had a noon checkout the guy says “Oh” without even an apology then proceeded to pound on every door on our floor extra loud from his annoyance with us I assume. Much more could be said but bottom line ignore any positive reviews about this place and go anywhere else.

    The hotel itself is fine. However, I was charged by Expedia and the hotel for my stay. When Expedia called to rectify, they were told by the hotel that they didn't charge me, even though I have a posted credit card transaction. I will never stay here again!

    When I got to my room the first thing I noticed was the bathroom sink was dirty. I always travel with cleaning supplies so I cleaned it myself. I shouldn’t have to do that being that I’m saying and a hotel with a good reputation. As the night went on and I was ready to go to bed and pulled back the sheets I seen someone else’s hair on the sheets. It grossed me out so bad that I had to sleep in the chair. Horrible experience!!!

    Property was excellent. Upon seeing my hotel receipt though, I found that, with the cancellation insurance, Expedia charged me $48 more than I would have paid if I had booked with the hotel alone. Next time I will definitely check with the hotel before waisting money on something I could have done myself.

    Amazing! Stayed for just one night while traveling through the area. Bright and clean lobby. Front desk associate was sweet, friendly and knowledgeable. Room was comfy, quiet and super clean. Breakfast looked good (mix of hot and cold items), but we just grabbed fresh hot coffee before heading out. We would definitely choose to stay here again if we're ever in the Richmond area. Highly recommend!

Something like this: "I've assigned you a newly renovated room; I hope you find it to you liking! As you get off of the elevator, you'll notice we are still updating other areas of that floor, but it's safe for you. When work resumes in the area tomorrow, there should be no disruption to your rest. Please enjoy your stay and call if there is anyway we can make it your best stay." Now, to close: In the morning, the Desk Staff was friendly, energetic, enjoyable.

    We arrived with a warm greeting at the front desk from a lovely lady named Regina ..we had been driving all night .we were really tired and I promise you Miss Regina was so understanding and got us checked in quickly ..I wasn’t able to Thank her again for making a challenging 6 hours drive there in the rain all the better just by acknowledging and accommodating us with kindness …I will be returning in the near future ..oh and this hotel smells sooo good .

    What I did not like. 1) The room air was very stale. 2) Spider webs up in the ceiling corners near the window. 3) The "light bulb" in the cabinet over the portable coffee/tea pot not working. Notified the customer service desk and was informed a work order was placed...Result: No service render or a follow up on the room during our stay. Suggestion: Management of cleaning service department to perform "extra" room check, especially rooms that have not been use in a long while. My experience in the past has been awesome with Fairfield Inn. I would like to continue to make Fairfield Inn one of my family go to Hotel when we are in town. This time I could not give this Hotel a 5 star. Thank you, Expedia, for all that you do to provide customers the best service.
