There was no tea bags even. No facial tissue paper even. Horrible.

However, there are some areas for improvement. The mattress was uncomfortable and we woke the next day with sore backs. There were no encasements on the mattress or pillows. In the bathroom there were soaps but no shampoo or conditioner and no extra toilet paper in case we ran out. (We ran to Target to get some since the office was locked.) Our biggest complaint, however, was that the air conditioner needs fixed or replaced as it ran intermittently and never cooled the room, something that was imperative given the near 100 degree temperature. We kept waking in the night drenched in sweat and throwing cool water on ourselves so we didn’t overheat. The Sundial Lodge has promise. It is affordable and clean with a friendly staff and tidy rooms. But tweaks definitely need to be made before we will stay here again.

I stopped at the Sundial Lodge as it was ~ half way on my trip from OR to CA. Proprietor was very friendly, room was clean and comfortable. What I really liked was the location, after driving all day I wanted to stretch my legs. Sundial Bridge is a nice walk and there are a collection of restaurants within a half mile. I'll be stopping here again.

We paid for queen size room, we received a full size room. I have a king size bed at home and was wondering if this was a queen. The couple in other room told me they had a full size bed also. Room 204 & 205. So we where ripped off. There is also a very busy street and train that runs in the night, not anything they can control.

The room was clean and the service pleasant. My only complaint was that all the in-room lighting was too bright. Having said that, I we were there only one night and it was not a problem. I would stay there again - the location was perfect.

It was an extremely hot day, but the air conditioning wasn't on in the room. Very uncomfortable waiting for the room to cool down after turning it on.

The place is an old motel, two story with small rooms. It is being renovated and our room was freshly painted and carpeted. Bath was newly resume and the room was clean. The parking lot had construction debris and old furniture sitting around. There are no amenities. A nearby restaurant was fantastic. The rooms are generally not handicapped accessible.

A step above a roach motel, but barely. We had a broken, squeaky bed with collapsed springs, dirty carpet, a broken bedside lamp, one of only two bulbs out in the ceiling lighting, a filthy hair dryer, and the room reeked of cigarette smoke.

This was an overnighter stop, in late and out early. It was fine for that. It is an older, but well cared for, property, clean and in good condition. The wifi was weak, but we didn't need it. We got a good price and it met our needs, but it is no romantic getaway.

The parking is a ways from your door, which is unfortunate when you have heavy bags. The space is best for agile people because the bed and furniture are close together.

Run away from this place. It is ran by a family. They lady (mother) is very nice . But it is all a front! My Tv wasn’t working, I asked for them to fix it, but the daughter said no one is around to do “maintenance”.

This property is in very poor condition and is awfully dirty. Our towels were not washed and had black streaks in them. Staff was rude and the facility stunk very badly. Even for the cheaper price this property is not worth the stay by any means.

It was okay clean. It is an old motel. Condition of motel is old. Good parking. Internet connection is very spotty. Connection is slow and comes and goes. At one point we couldn't get connected at all. If you are just passing through Redding to get to somewhere, then staying at this place is okay. If you are staying in Redding for fun, I would choose another place. And if you need internet for work, I would definitely stay elsewhere.

We knew there was no breakfast but there were several restaurants nearby, including Heavenly Donuts a meet 6 minutes walk away. I was also happy to find a small laundry room with coin operated machines, a necessity on a long vacation.

I stayed in room 204. It was clean. I was very careful because I saw the previous reviews. I checked the mattress and sheets for cleanliness. The carpet and chairs were pretty worn down. But other than that the facilities were fine. The only thing that irked me was the check in process was strange. There was a hand made sign asking you to call a number to be let into the office. It rang and rang with no answer. I caught someone going into a staff entrance and they had me ring an unmarked doorbell outside the office. Someone let me in then.

I was passing through Redding and decided to make a stop for a night and to see the Sundial Bridge. The Sundial Lodge is conveniently located nearby. My two criticisms of this room would be that the pillows were not comfortable and the curtains weren’t blackout. Overall, we were very pleased and would gladly return to Sundial Lodge!

We only stayed one night. I'm not real sure the pillow cases had been changed which made me wonder about the sheets, but they had been smoothed and tucked in. The room was carpeted and the carpet is dirty. My white socks turned brown walking on it. Easy chairs were stained.

Just a pit stop en route to our northern home. It is an older motel so it seems a bit tired, but it has been partially updated. Comfortable enough and clean. A bit of sound transference between floors to be aware of but surprisingly quiet.

The Sundial is where I cross over from 'what have I done/ again" to ok! This was my 2nd stay in 2 years. It's a work in progress by the family but at an extremely convenient location and meets all my basic needs. Starbucks and Der Wienerschnitzel in walking distance. QUIET.

reception room smell curry. bedroom was small tight. The bothroom window faces balcony where guesses walk by can see inside shower room. The AC was noisy, it stop and starts and will wake you up in the middle of night if you use it. Not worth the price.

Nice quaint hotel. Very close to downtown. Actually within walking distance of a bunch of cool things, like the downtown area and the sundial bridge. Friendly and quick check in. The room was adequate. Clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

We needed a hotel on our drive from Southern California to Seattle. Redding was the stopping point, but hotels were filling fast because of the Carr Fire. We often try to stay in the mom & pop places. This one was right on the road to the Carr Fire, so the area was full of firefighters. It was a good stay, and we pray for their safety as they fight this blaze.

The check in was friendly and fast. The ice machine outside the office is coin operated, but the gal in the office came out and put in a coin for us without us even asking having seen us walk up with our ice bucket and then turn around a bit bewildered. Room was clean and comfortable.

The front desk lady who check us is was really nice and helpful. She provided us with a wealth of information on things to do while staying in Redding. The room itself was a bit outdated and the bed too firm to get comfortable but it was at least clean and didn’t smell of cigarette smoke.

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights and they didn’t replenish the supplies from the person before us. We had to ask for a roll of toilet paper. The towels were dirty. The bed was comfortable and I liked the shower head but the shower itself was very small.

Called the number I found on google, some east-indian sounding man began demanding money from me and yelled at me about leaving him a large deposit. Looked in my email and found a different number for the motel. Called it and no one answered. Went across the street to a different motel and was rented a room immediately. 20 minutes later Budget Inn calls me back saying, "If you called me, call me back." I couldn't even get into my room that I PAID FOR. Now I have to try to get my money back for this motel.

Arrived at a little past midnight, office was closed. Rang bell and waited, no luck. There was random furniture in front of rooms, homeless man going through garbage. It was sketchy at best. Was unable to check in. Left and found another place to stay.

This place is a joke. They lie to keep your money/deposit. They don't give you anything but a bad time!!!

This hotel was very loud, small and did not feel particularly clean. The sheets didn't even have a fitted sheet, so kept coming up and I kept finding myself sleeping on the mattress--yuck :/ However, was in walking distance to some good restaurants.

Comfortable bed, good internet, quiet. Building needs refreshing. Comforter cover needs cleaning. Quick checkin and out. Helpful staff. This is winter time and room warmed up quickly

Good price, pots of coffee in room. Breakfast started at 7am, too late for us. We like to get an early start.

The room was old and appeared to not have had a good cleaning in a long time. There appeared to be mold growing on the wall in the bathroom.

I enjoyed my stay. Very quiet stay. Plan on coming back someday soon. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Very comfortable and clean room.

First room the bed was wet ( idk if it was bedding or what) talked to the lady at front desk who was awesome and changed our rooms..

We stayed the hotel for 2 nights when visiting the Whiskeytown. We booked a room with queen size bed. However, when we arrived, we were upgraded to a king size bed room with no extra charge. The hotel staff is friendly and the room is clean and quiet. The WIFI is very good as well.

I choose this motel because it was close to the Amtrak Station. I arrived at 4:30am. After ringing the bell To check in, I was in my room rather quickly. The room was clean. The only negative comment would be the internet access. Multiple calls to the front desk, and still no wifi.

We were just wanting a place to lay our heads for a few hours, and the Budget Inn filled that need. It definitely was a no-frills budget place, but our room was very clean and we felt totally safe. The location was good in that it was close to getting back to the freeway and allowed easy access to a couple of excellent restaurants.

The desk clerk (maybe the owner?) seemed drunk or just very weird. He held my ID and stared at me for a long time. I finally asked if he had my reservation or not. The room was basically clean though very outdated. Hard bed. Common areas were depressing. TV was seriously messed up.

Only thing I didn't like was having to pay for ice. Although the Budget Inn isn't in the best part of town (lots of homeless people, so we chose not to leave anything in our car), the room was very clean and comfortable. Fast wifi for streaming movies, and an excellent value overall.
