We stayed overnight with long drive

Outdoors walkways are so dirty, obviously not cleaned/maintained in a very long time. Staff didn’t seem concerned when I told them it was dirty. I asked for clean sheets and was given 1 blanket. Yuk!

Pubes in the bed, bathroom and shower. Whole room smelled like sweat and cigarettes. Hookers in and out of the hotel most of the evening. This place is actually terrible. Worst hotel I’ve ever seen

Room smells. TV did not get signal. I was told “yeah, sometimes it goes in and out”. Staff very helpful otherwise.

All during the evening the room was vibrating from something under the room? I even mentioned it to the staff at check put in the morning, he had no idea what it was. Staff was friendly at check in and out. Parking was good, lots of room. A/c was working just fine

This place is filthy on the outside. Room was questionable. Dirty filth ring around toilet. They allow everyone to have pets. Cats in the windows. Vending machines broken. Just a terrible experience for me. I guess you get what you pay for.

This property was filthy! absolutely filthy! cracked steps. Dirty outside everywhere. Pets all over the place, cats in windows. This place at minimal needs a total pressure washing. The AC units are very loud. Sound like helicopters flying overhead. The room has a dirty stained toilet and slow draining sink.

The very friendly staff member, Levi, checked me in quickly and made a great recommendation for a Mexican Restaurant. Place was neat, clean, and tidy. Walls are thin, but I had no problem with noise, though with loud or unruly neighbors that could be a possibility. The site I booked through did not state how much for a pet, so I left mine home. It turns out pets are free! Nice clean pool. Great experience.

The rooms were clean, conveniently located, but the toilet did not flush properly to the point I didn’t want to use it.

The room was clean. I think they should invest in different beds, because they seem pretty old. The bed in our room was sunken in. But I had elderly lady, autistic adult and toddler with me so I didn’t want to move rooms. So I laid in the sunken part. Not the staff’s fault, I’m sure that goes to the owner and them investing in new mattresses. But for the price, it was perfect! I would stay again if I needed to!

There was a loud noise like an airplane engine starting, then revving for 60 seconds, then shutting off then repeating nonstop all night. I used AirPods with sleep noise to drown it out but it was too loud! Our room was above the office so maybe a different location would help. The bed was fine. We would have been ok if it wasn't for the noise.

Good stay coming and going 3 weeks apart this time. One night stay both times. Was asked to remember that check out time is *before* 11:00 a.m. when check out time is *at* 11:00 a.m. then at 20 minutes to 11:00 a.m. someone's knocking on the door reminding you you're checking out I guess. Not sure what the rush is since they can't rent the room out again till 3:00 p.m. Guess they just don't want any stragglers. Was on the second floor the first time and the first floor the second, which was much nicer because I could back right up to the door to unload and load. Quiet, never heard any noise from other guests. Stayed at this same motel over 40 years ago and it hasn't been run down in fact it's pretty well maintained. The pool looks good although no one uses it. The TV is pretty small looks like maybe a 32-in where most rooms have TVs that are 43 in and above. Good shower, air conditioning / heating unit worked well. No complaints overall.

The only thing that was good was the staff members they were nice When we first arrived at our room it was super hot like we couldn’t breathe when we enter the place of hot hot it was when we turn on the air conditioning only a small part of the air conditioning was blowing air and the other big part was not it was all clogged with dirt the filters looked clogged from the air conditioning I never felt uncomfortable in my whole life sleeping at a hotel the room never cooled down and I was sweating so bad and at night since I couldn’t sleep I went to the restroom and there was a bunch of big cockroaches crawling around it was so gross I don’t recommend at all also the sheets were itchy like it there were bed bugs or the sheets were dirty I don’t know it was honestly so disgusting and disappointed

1. Did not clean our room - we left our room at 9 am, and they did not clean it, nor did they empty the garbage or give fresh towels. We're 99% sure it was missed. We got back too late to call. 2. Massive dust and hair under the beds - ewww! Everything appeared clean until looking under the bed - I don't believe it had been vacuumed for years. 3. Hotel property - shabby, not good. Garbage and small papers were outside; you could tell where the floor mats had been due to the patches in front of the doors - it was shabby. 4. Location - I'm a man who is comfortable anywhere. However, there were sketchy people around, including the homeless. I helped this one guy who had an old truck to get it started, along with brake issues. Super nice, he was tatted and had been in prison. His daughter was sweet, and he was awesome. Many old, hard men were here. I would never bring my family here. 5. Cost - was by far the lowest around (for a good reason!) The room was kind of acceptable, the staff was kind (though they did not clean our room, and the outside needed to be picked up), and the central location was ideal (except for the homeless). For 95% of travelers, I would NOT recommend this location unless cost is your primary concern and you can handle your surroundings.

Parking was great but the room smelled so strong of Bleach it gave me a headache and even though there was people in the pool she the lady at the desk said that the pool is closed. I asked the next day same thing pool closed, it was only open for a couple of hours for little boys birthday. I'm sorry that's wrong.

Got to the room and discovered the lights didn't work? Some were because of switch issues that were corrected through trial and error, but the main light that should come on as soon as you walk in the door had no light bulb in it!!!! After figuring out how to "light our way" we found that it was a handicap room. Still not a biggie, but ...we couldn't shut the extra wide bathroom door because it interfered with the bed????? Whatever!!!!! Long day, long drive and tired, we went to bed. Next morning I tried to take a shower, but the handheld shower head CAME OFF IN MY HAND AND WATER WAS SPURTING AROUND THE ROOM LIKE A GARDEN HOSE!!!! When we alerted the desk on the phone, she said, (before I told her the problem as to why the shower was broken) "Oh, I bet that nozzle broke didn't it?" At checkout, and four times by phone since, we attempted to speak with the manager. Each time we were told she wasn't in but she would return the call....she has never called, no offer has been made to compensate us for our inconveniences in any manner whatsoever and if this writeup helps someone to contact me and discuss this, I would be very, very happy to hear from you!!!

Oddly, there isn't a sign on the main road indicating the entrance to the hotel (as the hotel is behind several businesses) so at first I thought I was going in the back way. Upon entering the room, I was greeted with an overwhelming smell, close to baby powder but not quite, so I had to leave the door to the room open for about 10 minutes to air out the place. The shower had a pool of water sitting in it which didn't scream clean. And the shower curtain was torn on one side so you couldn't fully close the curtain. The room door had a large gap all the way around it letting in lots of hot air (the poor AC had to work hard) plus all the sounds and conversations from outside (not very quiet). And in the morning, when I woke up, there was a water bug climbing up a wall, and when I moved my stuff off the table, there was another bug. Would never stay here again.

Ok stay for one or two nights. Clean bedroom with minimum supplies, 2 soaps and towel.

Hotel 6 in central Redding definitely won’t stay there again with a 100 deposit that was never mentioned on booking room only at the desk on arrival so 180 instead of 80 and then told buy one person checking in you get deposit back on checking out then checking out that person saying it will take 1 to 5 business days that’s a crock and she didn’t have time to go look at my room I felt like it was a scam in the works rooms very small shower had no pressure and seems like a lot of people live there and seen some shady people pull up and leave late in the night through out the early morning so not much sleep

Unfortunately our stay was disrupted by noise of cars from Kool April Nights. So we drove 3 hours home. Not the motels fault, but the gas station in front! Very disappointing

The heater wouldn’t stop running even though I lowered the temperature on the control panel to 69 degrees. It felt like the tropics inside, so I had to turn on the air conditioner. There wasn’t even a coffee maker to heat water for tea. The only positive thing was the low price.

Decent place to stay the night, there were a bunch of tiny dead mosquitos in the room, but otherwise it was clean.

It's very good for its price and from where I stayed I did not hear any significant traffic noises. The location is perfect.

There was a hole in the wall and a hole in the bathroom door. One of the towels had a bad smell but we just didn’t use that one. We booked a stay for one night and would probably not book for more than one night. I was uncomfortable but my kids didn’t mind.

They need better night staff. The people are so rude and condescending. They will try to hustle you into deposits that weren't apparent up front before booking, then blame it on Expedia. I paid and booked online during a family trip. Upon arrival, they said Expedia shouldn't have allowed me to purchase this room because they don't allow 5 people. I have 3 small kids that fit into 1 bed just fine, and we had just spent 6 days at an Anaheim motel 6 with no issues. So after driving all day, Redding was our half way home point. It was 11p.m. I arrive to the motel I already paid for to have the VERY RUDE men working telling me basically if I don't pay for a second room and split my family up, and pay a $100 deposit for each room, I couldn't stay there! Any time I tried to speak, they cut me off and talked over me and down to me like I'm stupid. I was practically begging them to give me the room I prepaid for as of was nearing midnight at this point and we had been driving all day with 3 small kids and just wanted to go to sleep. They weren't budging and told me it wasn't their problem and put it all off on Expedia. I was able to contact Expedia and get a full refund as well as a $25 credit for the crap we had to go thru. I immediately went across the street to the Comfort Inn where they took us in with open arms for only $20 more. No deposits. No problems with 5 people in one room. It was A MILLION TIMES NICER than Motel 6 and had a hot breakfast bar for the kids.

The room had a cockroach infestation. They crawled into my baby’s portable crib and into his shoes. We couldn’t stay and left after only 20 minutes. They even crawled on my boyfriend’s hand as he was folding up the crib.

There were Cockroaches in our room! It was absolutely disgusting. Then the toilet gets clogged, and I call the front desk. He says he'll be right there. He hands me a plunger and says, I'm not plunging your toilet. So rude!

I ended up in the second room and the flooring wasn't put in properly, the shower was so filthy I wouldnt shower in it, and both mattresses in the hotel had broken springs, so they sloped to one side. I was being stabbed and sinking in in weird places all night. It was awful and I slept horribly. The room was so bad that when I complained to the front desk they said "oh my god they put you in room 234??" They made it clear that that room is known for how bad of shape it is in. If staff is aware that the room is like that, they should not be booking the room until it is in acceptable shape. This experience was entirely unacceptable even for a budget hotel. I want a refund for that night.

You get a little less than you pay for, and the price is cheap. Not providing even a little shampoo bottle was a pretty sad decision made by Motel 6. We always seem to forget about that and regret going there. This hotel was even a little worse than other Motel 6’s we have stayed at. Some furniture was coming apart and the bed and pillow were not even comfortable. Only plus was the smell of bleach upon opening the door. At least the cleaner was liberal with the strong stuff.

I made my reservation through Expedia. This is the fourth Motel 6 we have stayed at on this short trip. We were not told there would be a $100 deposit and we have not been put through near the paces we went through here. This is not the nicest one we have stayed at so was a bit surprised. Had I not already paid for it I would have gone somewhere else.

The front desk staff was helpful, it was the room. It was filthy, black crumbs on the counters, bedding was stained, nothing looked well kept. There was a heavy smell of cigarettes and finally, the vent for the AC was called in dust. Won't waste my money there again.

Unfortunately our room had roaches. The entire room was filthy- like dead bugs everywhere, sticky brown stuff all over the floor.. the microwave was filled with rust. If we hadn’t drove 14 hours we would have left but we were unable to drive anymore. We slept for 4.5 hours and left in the middle of the night around 4:30 am.

There could be some complaints. But the hotel tries to save you money. Like you get what you paid for. The only real recommendation is that I thought the shower area was too small. If I bend down to put soap on my ankles, I would either hit my head on the wall or the shower curtain. If the management sees this, maybe make the shower area bigger, the next time you remodel the hotel.

It started with the terrible service at the front desk. The room had black-stained bath towels, the bathroom sink was leaking water, the guest in the next room was making a lot of noise and swearing, the room smelled strongly of cigarettes, and there were cockroaches in the room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone; it was a terrible experience. We had a terrible stay.

I love that they take dogs, with no extra fee! This is why I always choose Motel 6's on my roadtrips with my dog. The only thing I didn't like was that the door didn't seem to shut all the way, I would have been more worried if it wasn't for the metal clasp thing that helps to double lock it.

The room we stayed in had a big hole in the wall under the bathroom sink, missing floorboards in the bathroom and room. Door frames missing and broke. Holes in the wall in the room. It was a last minute stay and there was no shampoo to was my hair(I’m a woman) I’m not using the bar soap meant to wash your hands on my hair. The only soap there was, was the bar soap to wash hands to shower with. There was someone else’s hair inside the sheets on the bed. Coffee in the lobby was so low quality that you wouldn’t even have made it in your own house, and the he creamer didn’t even help it taste better. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Check-in was sketchy, seemed like a scam, had two bookings under my name, tried to check me in for a week even though it was a one night stay. Have never had these issues before with Expedia but the manager said it was their fault. Sheets in room were dirty with dirt/debris on them.

Very helpful staff! We accidentally left something in our room, and they set it aside for us and also helped us get it shipped back to us. The room was adequate for a Motel 6, and we appreciated the microwave and refrigerator.

Very dirty! Especially the floor so so dirty, even back and forth to bathroom your feet are dirty and turn darker. And feel not safety because homeless in and out at the office taking ice cubes! Not recommended

This was the worst motel experience in my life - cigarrette smells in the room - no soap no shampoo the bed was completely broken down on one side - could not sleep on half the bed - broken down air conditioning with heavy cigarrette smell. Bathroom was not clean - water had a strange smell. The extrerior of the buildings stairwells and walkways were filthy. I can stomach quite a bit but this place was over the top

Check-in was easy. The workers are kind. The room we got was a non-smoking room. It was penetrated with cigarette smoke. They let me borrow febreeze but it was only a temporary fix. The floor was sticky. I asked and they provided some Clorox wipes so I could clean the floor. It was obvious the floor was very dirty. We showered with our sandals on because the shower was very dirty as well. We slept in our sleeping bags on top of the bed.

This was a good stay. Right where I needed in Redding. Easy to get to and easy to park. It is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping, has a pool, and a place to wash laundry (about $5 for wash and dry). My room was spacious and clean. Front desk were nice and polite. Would recommend.

Two beds in the room both mattresses were equaliy terrible with sinkholes in the middle.

Super friendly staff! The area is a bit of a strip mall vibe, the motel is kinda hidden behind a Mexican restaurant. A lot of chain food options right there. The place is a bit run down. The walls are super thin. No shampoo or wash for the shower. Be mindful of transient people hanging out, didn’t have issues but was a bit concerned.

Nothing really to say, it was a room with free coffee in the morning.

The staff was great and accomdated us for all our requests. The 1st problem we had was not the hotels fault. Our neighbor was having a very loud partyso they were disturbing us. The staff immediatly moved us.....but to a room with a broken tv. The 2nd room was sufficient for the evening, and convenient parking, but when we opened the door there was a roach on the floor!! The beds were anything to be desired and when sitting on them your butt touched the boxspring! Was it overall clean? Yes, did we sleep? Yes. Would i recommend? Probably not.

Dirty sheets, stunk like cigarettes and weed. Mud and dirt on floor like it wasn’t even cleaned. Hair in the bathtub and toilet wasn’t cleaned it was disgusting! The front desk guy was lovely but I was worried I would get bed bugs from this place but checked the bed and didn’t see any. Do not stay here!

Good for the price.

I thought room service, like trash dumping and fresh towels would be a service I would receive every day, but it wasn’t. I only got fresh towels when I asked on the third day and dumped my own trash on the fourth day. Apparently there is no room service unless you ask for it, no matter how long your stay there. It’s not a Hilton or Ramada Inn. You get what you pay for.

Great simple accommodation

When booking in, another couple had issues regarding them booking a non smoking room and being given a smoking room. Should have seen that as a sign. We asked to extend the stay for another night because we would be traveling to Sacramento the next day for an appointment and didn’t want to travel more hours back to our home in on the coast. Came back that evening to our things gone and the manager said since we didn’t check back in that day they removed them. I’ve never heard of this being done before. If you have a 2 night stay why would you have to check back in the next day?

Motel 6 is exactly what it claims. Reasonably price, clean, kind and consistently willing to meet your needs. Always worth more than you pay for.

Good central location right off freeway. Room was clean and staff very amenable.

It's an average place. if the bottom floor is all booked up. there are no elevators for people with handicap issues. only stairs

But what wasn’t so good is that nothing is said about 100 deposit until the are getting your room even if you pre register and if you don’t have the cash and put it on your card you are told it could take up to five days

There was used fast food wrappers under the bed and the receptionist was rude.

And next to me, dog barked for hrs. 2nd night; Much nicer, quieter. Safe Well Lite Property.

Lots of outside lighting. The office had security cameras. A little further away from highway ensured a quieter sleep. Liked the 100$ deposit to prevent people staying there from illicit dealings.

It was motel 6. It served its purpose in a road trip. The people there were nice it was simple to check in and out and honestly I slept great? The bed wasn’t the best but I slept really good!! I would stay there again for a break from driving it’s inexpensive and convenient. We felt safe it’s what you would expect

Excellent Motel 6, it's not the first one I've stayed at. It's not perfect but very affordable. I also had a customer service issue, and they did make it right instead of skirting the issue. I was supposed to be tax exempt as a federal employee... They fixed it for me, thanks Tiffany and staff. Best regards.

This was the most disgusting hotel room I've ever stayed in. I touched the mirror and a joint fell out. There were stains and hairs all over the bedding and towels, hair all over the shower, boogers smeared on the wall, some kind of bodily fluid all over the mirrors and TV screen, and just general grime on every surface. The cleaning crew seems to have made the beds and folded the towels and done nothing else for the past 30 years. Genuinely horrifying. Do not stay here.

The shower curtain was 2 inches too short, there was water all over the bathroom floor. It was a soaking MESS!!! The picture quality on the television was almost completely black. You could not see anything. The staff was nice.

The gentleman checking us in was nice. The bed looked clean but had stains on it. No shampoo/bodywash left for guests. Bathroom wall was dirty. There was hairs attached to " clean folded" towels and wash cloths. Requested bottom room but was told it was full. Charged 100 dollar deposit which was ridiculous.

Very convenient, located right next to the highway and a gas station. Perfect for a short rest. However, the motel only provides soap, no shampoo and no hair dryer.

Stay was good, good motel for the price.

Basic accommodation for value price. Close to freeway so can hear the traffic noise. Should add Level 2 charging for EVs.

The stay was terrible people next to me slamming doors all night and multiple people in the room yelling constant in and out

Multiple cops when we arrived someone barricaded with a machete. Room smelled and wasn't clean bed was uncomfortable. Just needed a place to sleep for a few hrs. It did do that.

- Room was clean, yet the bed sheets were very worn and didn’t seem very current. - Didn’t notice I only a hand towel and bath mat, until I got out if the shower. Was too late to get a regular towel!

There was a shortage of maid service, if you needed anything you had to ask, not a problem...had to ask that the floors in my room needed mopped, they were filthy, they did that.

The room was an economy room. Very small with no amenities outside of a mini fridge and microwave. The bed and pillows were horribly uncomfortable. I have stayed at much better hotels for less...

Hard bed, poor lighting, felt unsafe. The room is not well put together leaving an infinished feeling to it. The night shift front desk gentleman was very nice and kind though!

Convenient location and great price. Hard surface room flooring, which is a high value to me. Clean, comfortable. In response to some of the pool comments, pool water is clean and sparkly. The pool itself might need resurfacing, but the swimming experience is great. Excellent and accommodating service when I called the location and at check in.

It was really hot in Redding and the air conditioning in the room barley worked. It didnt keep the room cooled off. Also, i was on a trip with my family and my room was around back over looking a residential part of the motel. I really did not enjoy staying there

We had to stay in a hotel last minute and it needed to be pet friendly. This was a good option for us, and one of the cheaper but still clean ones that we found.

AC unit was overly noisy. Just stop on way to Southern CA.

This hotel gives you the basics and quiet. What else does one need?

Clean and convenient. Everything worked; A/C, heater, hot water, refrigerator, & tv.

The motel was close to the freeway and there were plenty of food options nearby. The employee that checked us in was helpful and even gave us dining suggestions. Redding was just a stop in the way and we were able to rest before moving on with our trip

The staff was unfriendly upon check-in. The towels in the room were dirty, and there was only washcloths. There were no bath towels. The bedding looked disheveled. It looked like it hadn’t been made.

We were canceled by the hotel last minute doe to their dated system that can't check in customers after a certain time in the AM even though it indicates no end time for check-in on Hotels.com. The staff at the hotel we talked to canceled our booking and directed us to Hotels.com to request for a refund. Hotels.com accused us of canceling from our end and said that they were unable to provide us any "flexibility" even though our money was fraudulently taken.
