There were roaches everywhere and baby ones in the room. Not a great experience

Everything was good. A nice hotel, clean and in good condition with friendly staff. It is close to a highway so there was some traffic noise if you are a light sleeper.

Also be mindful of area, it’s next to some warehouse, motel 6, and pretty much nothing else, lots of trailer trucks are parked there. Didn’t feel like safest area.

It was HOT. AC would not come on. Could not sleep.

My booking was supposed to have a hot tub. There is no hot tub. There is no facial mask. There is not the things that the website said it would be available.

It was the only room left in the entire city that wasn’t in the ghetto. It wasn’t a horrible place to stay, I’ve stayed in worse. The price for the quality of the hotel is pretty outrageous. There’s not a single reason why any of these rooms should cost almost $200 a night. It was basically a hotel 6. Breakfast was gross, beds were “ok”. The pool was inside and very small. The toilet was clogged after the first use and we had to wait until 10 the next morning when a maintenance worker arrived. I wouldn’t stay again unless we absolutely had nowhere else to go.

The staff was helpful. The bath tub was clogged. The bathroom door wouldn't match or lock. Not enough vegan options at breakfast.

It was nice and safe space to rest over night. The bathroom had a strong ammonia smell probably from the cleaning products. I did not like the smell at all and that’s the only complaints I have.

The bed was super comfortable! The breakfast was really good also. The public restroom downstairs was not clean.

All was wonderful but the star of the show was Bonnie! She was the clerk on duty when we arrived. She saw I was towing a vehicle and came running out for suggestions for efficient parking as she had a full house this night. My hubby then came with a 29’ U-Haul to which she found a safe and large enough space. She even knew she had 14 more guests to check in still and was going to move her personal car to the street to help out. She should be in management or a trainer as her customer service, care for her guests and knowledge of her hotel surpassed any customer service I have experienced.

Great place right off the freeway and friendly staff

These two were the top awful things we have encountered while being there.

The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good. The noise from the proximity to the freeway.

My air conditioner had an issue with the fan that made a noise preventing me from sleeping well, otherwise the place is great.

Very comfortable, clean, friendly staff Shower door opens incorrectly. I had to step into the shower to turn it on and get blasted with cold water because only one door opens incorrectly also, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom.

Front desk was great. The property is a former Ramada Inn and needs the Holiday Inn Express updates.

They didn’t empty or remove trash from the previous people staying , we got 2 rooms , the room with the king bed and spa we found used condom and wrapper that was left , we just cleaned it up before our son who was staying with us on the pull out couch saw it . We were only provided with 1 towel in that room ( but lots of tiny face cloths ) and we had to ask for more regular towels so we could take a shower which they gave us no problem the staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was very nice , beds were very comfy , it would have been better if we didn’t have the used condom and wrapper, the trash can emptied, the tub cleaned and more then 1 towel to start ofc with :).

AC had a hard time keeping up but otherwise the stay was good.

Breakfast at 8:45 on a Sunday morning was too busy and most of the food was gone and coffee was out. No cups for juice. In the room the toilet didn’t flush well and needed to be plunged by me and the ac was noisy. Would get loud and then quiet. Woke me up a few times. Over all I wasn’t too happy. Would not stay again

Check-in took 45 minutes from when I got to the counter. Staff didn’t know how to retrieve my reservation which was booked through Expedia. Then they didn’t know how to make a room key, because they were unable to log into their computer program. The room itself was fine, but with the location so close to the highway, there was incredibly loud traffic noise all night. I would avoid this hotel

Great for 1 night.

Pool was freezing but the staff was amazingggggg! So friendly and beyond helpful. I didn’t get the ladies name but she was filling in for someone. Clean rooms, everything we needed.

Very clean! Courteous front desk. Easy quick check in. Nice big room with comfortable bed. Shower is walk in and plenty of towels for drying hair and body. No pets except service dogs which I like as it’s much quieter. Food was fresh and area clean. Easy drop key checkout. Very impressed!!

Horrible hotel ESPECIALLY because of the price! I only choose bc it had an indoor pool and on paper appeared nice. WRONG pool was like 8 person capacity, the room was awful, cracked tile on floor, bathroom gross. Fridge on floor overlooking trash site for mechanics shop. I meet family there and was very embarrassed to have picked this hotel. The location was awful too. Nothing good to say about this place.

Wasn’t told at check in that my credit card was charged a $50 deposit in addition to the room cost, supposedly it’s going to be refunded? Also, no luggage carts in the lobby - asked and was told they only have one and it must be in use. Several hours later and still no cart in the lobby.

Everyone was very polite! I found the room to be great, the camera was great, the pillows were good, the room size was comfortable, the coffee was ok... I found the air conditioning to be dirty.

Great location to stop on a road trip between CA and Oregon.

The breakfast was good. The biscuits and gravy was our favorite part of breakfast. Coffee all day long we love that. And the front desk was really nice. Everything was very clean. Staff was great.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Redding (9/26–9/28) for a wedding and had such a great experience! Everyone on the staff was super friendly and helpful—gave us awesome food recommendations, tips on where to grab supplies, and just really nice conversation at breakfast. The room was clean and comfy, and overall the whole stay was easy and enjoyable. Would definitely stay here again

Hotel is fine but there is absolutely nothing nearby for food

Room was very comfortable. Check in was delayed slightly but staff was friendly. The elevator is “scary”. Makes loud popping noise like cables are ready to go and door is squeaky. Needs to be serviced I’m sure. I didn’t like being in it.

The hotel was great! The only problem is that there is only one food option for dinner nearby. We had a trailer attached to our car and thus ending up walking under the freeway overpass to reach the place. It was tastly!

Receptionist on check in could be more professional and well groomed . Aside from missing teeth she has zero personalities and didn’t look presentable otherwise the hotel is clean and quiet

Room was extremely clean. Showed a real attention to detail. Was great. Facility had a new and well maintained appearance.

This overall was a good property. We stayed here two different nights-once on the way up and once on the way back. The first room had an insanely too soft mattress that was like a canoe. The second room had decent mattresses. When we came back on the second night, we were informed that the elevator didn't work and that we were on the second floor. I called them because my wife had difficulty climbing stairs and they were able ot give us a room on the first floor- so kudos to them! I really didn't care for the bathroom layout. They had the sink and mirror outside of the main bathroom so you couldn't really use it without illuminating the whole room. The actual bathroom with the toilet and shower had no seat on the toilet so there was almost no place to put your clean clothes while you took a shower. Aside from that, it was great. They have an outstanding free breakfast with many, many options.

We had room 212 and the bed we slept in had a dirty sheet. We had to remover that and just used the comforter. We opted to not tell the hotel staff because we didn’t want any worse treatment.

The property is still under some type of renovation. They should not open until it is complete. The elevator wasn't working, the construction debris was still visible and unattractive. Also, my room (307) smelled of urine, strong enough in the shower that I didn't use it. It was not visible but the odor was strong. The bed and air conditioning were exceptional though. That's why I didn't complain to the staff. They were fine, just the property condition was much lower than I am used to when staying at Holiday Inn Express properties.

Dated bathroom, sticky counter, remote control & dirty coffee maker. Far less room conveniences such as iron board & bags for dirty laundry; limited coffee & tea supplies which were all available 5 years ago. Loud air conditioner & terrible highway noise kept me up all night.

It was a nice stay

We enjoyed our stay at Reading. The room was comfortable. The pillows were good. The mattress was good. However, the shower is a tub step in shower with no texture on the floor of the bathtub so when you’re up taking a shower, you feel like you might slip and the toilet was way too low. My husband and I are in our 70s so these issues are concerns to us. We also enjoyed the breakfast. It was very good.

Pros: Great stay for sleeping over on a road trip. Check in was organized and easy. Room was spacious with comfortable beds and nice linens. Cons: Close to the freeway can easily hear traffic. Refrigerator too small (tiny cube). Elevator was clunky, slow, and warm inside.

The front office lady was not friendly. Supposedly the room was a non-smoking and it smelled really bad like smoke plus it was dirty, we found hair ties on the floor, and a fry beside one of the beds, gross. The microwave had cheese stains on the door. The sink area had dirty stains. Not soundproof, you can hear the street noise very loud. The toilet did not work properly. Over all dissatisfied, did not sleep well due to the pungent smell and loud noise.

The bed was really comfortable. I didn’t hear any noise from outside. I booked 2 rooms different times and they assigned us connecting rooms without me requesting for it. That’s very thoughtful of them.

I reserved 2 rooms with hotels.com. They only showed one. Didn't want to honor the quote for the second room. I had to prove to them that the mistake was on their end. They tried to blame hotels.com. Then they changed my card three times. I had to file a claim with my credit card.

The only issue the bathroom doesn’t have exhaust fan

However, downgraded because Wi-Fi was lousy. You could see the signal strength vacillate from 0 to maybe 2 bars, just a weak signal if you got it at all.

The light bulb in our room was out and the front desk staff could not find a right bulb to fix it. Our room was very close to the front desk, a little noisy.

When we walked into our room it had this horrible body odor smell. I wish I think they I should have taken care of it before we got in there. We had to switch rooms

It was easy to access between going to the Shasta Caves and Waterworks. The staff were very nice, and the hotel was very clean. The breakfast had a lot of hot and cold options.

Location is in a neighborhood that is desolate and there are no dining locations nearby. Rooms are setup in such a way that the wash basin is outside the bathrooms. Breakfast is standard fare for the hotel and nothing special.

Our stay at the Holiday In Express in Redding North was OK. The room wasn't perfectly clean (some hair here and there). The separate sink and toilet/shower spaces were inconvenient. The bed was good enough.

Initial room wasn’t clean, so gave us an upgrade

Picked this hotel specifically for the indoor pool. Arrived and it was not heated and it’s the worlds smallest pool! It was freezing and the kids didn’t last more than 10 mins. We had to pay to go to Water Works and then to the aquatic center. Breakfast was ok. We came down one morning and it was slim pickings. The trash bins are always to the brim. Only positive is that the bed was comfortable. They are seriously understaffed. Booked for 5 people and there were 3 towels. No sheets for the pullout. Called for extra towels and had to go downstairs to get more from the front desk.

Next to the freeway and Harley-Davidson dealership.

The receptionists need to be nicer to everyone not just pick and choose. When customer is not happy with their room staff should be willing to accommodate but instead whine that she is busy and why asking now to be switch room.

Property was clean and new. The towel rack in our bathroom was not anchored very well to the wall, it fell off and my husband fixed it !

We only spent one night. Our stay was comfortable, quiet and we slept well. The beds are soft with a choice of soft or firm pillows. There was a small refrigerator, microwave and single cup coffee maker in the room. The pool is perfect for younger children as it is only 4-1/2’ at it deepest. Our grandson enjoyed cooling off in it after a long drive. Breakfast was typical for a Holiday Inn and offered eggs, bacon, potatoes as well as biscuits and gravy and oatmeal. There is a pancake maker rather than a waffle maker. Our grandson says he prefers the waffle maker. His pancakes looked thin and a bit tough. I enjoyed the cinnamon rolls that are Holiday Inn’s signature breakfast item.

The room smelled odd when we entered. We arrived late, and when I put my head on the pillow at 1 am to go to sleep the pillow smell absolutely horrible. A mix between urine and used feminine hygiene products. It was disgusting and I will never stay at this holiday in express again.

We arrived rather late-about 10pm. Upon our arrival there was a sign that it would be 10 mins before the front staff would return. We were fine with waiting. Unfortunately, the staff we were waiting for were outside smoking pot. Upon entering the building the smell was overwhelming as they were only a few yards away from the entrance. For a non smoking establishment I would suggest that employees are also required to smoke at least 50 feet away from the building and probably out of sight and smell from customers.
