Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The location is also frequently complimented for its convenience and proximity to the freeway and local amenities. However, the cleanliness and condition of the rooms are common complaints, with guests often mentioning outdated decor, dirty surfaces, and malfunctioning amenities. The lack of free breakfast and the high cost of breakfast is another recurring issue.

The instant we walked into this hotel we knew it wasgoing to be a good stay. The lobby was inviting, clean and huge. The front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very big and the beds were better than our beds at home! Our dinner in the hotel dining room was delicious, reasonably priced and with great service.
- 3/5
Coffee machine is a joke. No toilet seat cover. Amenities, what/where? Just a square room.
- 3.5/5
Excellent location for our trip through California. Very safe and secure with an on-site security team. Felt very safe leaving our U-Haul in the parking lot overnight. Staff were very friendly. Very clean. Breakfast was not so good. Thin walls in the room. Could hear over guests easily.

Card key system wasn’t operational so front desk had to let you in the room. Wi-fi was weak and would not connect. Had to use my I-Phone as a hot spot for wi-fi access.

Clean room, comfortable bed, great location. Too bad breakfast isn’t complimentary
- 1.5/5
It was excellent and our server Kathy was a delight No elevator service which were told of when checked in. Only to find out it was scheduled to be out of service April 30 May 1st. No notification in advance and had spouse who’s 70 years old with multiple medical issues without access to an elevator that has mobility issues without key cards to access our rooms not working requiring us to walk twice the distances.

The bed was very uncomfortable. It sloped down on one side and was very hard. The toilet continued to run all night. Had to lift the cover off the reservoir every time to get it to stop. For the price we paid, it was not good.

I didn't realize I was getting a suite and it was HUGE! We're hoping to figure out a good excuse to go back to stay.

The Friendly Staff The best part of this hotel is definitely the people. From the second I walked through the front door, the front desk team was incredibly kind and helpful. They made check-in a breeze and really seemed like they enjoyed being there, which made me feel right at home. An Amazing Breakfast I have to give a huge shout-out to the breakfast crew. They were absolutely wonderful! Even when the dining room got busy, they stayed attentive and super friendly. It wasn't just "hotel food"—having a hot, made-to-order breakfast served by people who are genuinely happy to help really started my day on the right foot. The Bottom Line Great Spot: It’s right off the freeway, so it’s super easy to get to. Clean & Comfortable: Everything was spotless and well-maintained. Standout Service: The breakfast team alone is worth the stay. If you’re passing through Redding, stay here. The staff goes above and beyond, and you won't find a better morning vibe than their breakfast service. I’ll definitely be back!

- 5/5
Staff was LOVELY!! Room was clean and we got a beautiful partial view of the Sacramento River.
- 4/5
Room was large, clean and comfortable . The bed was decently comfortable, but, for me, it could have used a mattress topper. Also, it did not absorb movements from the other person(husband) at all. Nice hot shower with great water pressure. The staff were really nice and very accommodating.
- 5/5
Friendly, quick and easy

Half the floor was damp/wet in room. Upon checkout we alerted the hotel staff and they said it happens due to rain. Would skip next time
- 4/5
Great stay for travelers
- 4/5
Great hotel! Everything was clean and new. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but it looked good. Only complaint was that the sound insulation between the rooms was pretty bad. There was a door to the next room in our unit and we could hear everything from our neighbors - coughing, the TV, their microwave, all of it. That was a bummer.
- 5/5
Wonderfully kind staff.

GREAT!

- 3/5
Bathroom reeked of mold Breakfast lady was extremely rude, short with everybody
- 4/5
Property was well staffed.
- 5/5
Easy in and out
- 5/5
The restaurant and bar were much appreciated after a long road trip. Only problem, we paid for our food and bar bill by credit card and it was charged a second time to our room. I brought it to the attention of the girl at check out and she verified we had paid and removed the charge from our room charge. It all ended well.
- 3/5
Room for the most part was clean, but we went to shower, there were pubic hair all over the tub from the previous people. We had also asked for more towels, and the lady who delivered them asked for our other towels in our room, like they never experienced anyone asking for a couple more towels. Staff was polite other than that.
- 5/5
Great place to stay
- 1/5
The refridgerator keeps making random noises and i keep waking up. I dont want to go down to the office and ask to move to a diff room because it will be too much work.
- 1/5
The floor I was in was being entirely remodeled and gave me nausea with the smell. I guess they let me stay in a room that was in that area bc I had a service dog. No parking valet and actually quite rude when you stay park in front of hotel for more than 10mn. Also no help with trolley whatsoever…this place is hell !
- 5/5
Check-in was quick and easy. Room is spacious, comfortable, and clean.
- 4/5
The room wasn’t ready when we checked in but other than that the room was comfortable and pleasant.
- 1/5
The bedding was shabby and I iched all over until I aprayed with hand disinfectant. I have been in old hotels but tgey were cleaned! Everytime I turned the dust from the cover was hard to bear. They had construction on the hallways but why let guests stay if thr dust was not managed?
- 5/5
Clean, friendly, convenient, consistent every time we stay here.
- 5/5
my son and his fiancé just got married this weekend. I wanted them to have a place to stay where they would not be disturbed so got them a room for them at the Hilton Garden Inn. They loved it. They said the room was great. They had fantastic food available, and it was close to everything they needed
- 5/5
Friendly staff, nice accommodations and a happy hour with discounts on food (the pulled pork street tacos were quite good).
- 4/5
Besides construction it was great
- 3/5
Furniture was showing its age. Scuffed up. Bath tub had a stain in it tgat looked suspicious. I prefer a taller toilet. Nice towels and wash clothes and plentiful. Room carpet was nice. In room coffee yucky. Bed comfort mediocre. Nice location in proximity to dining and tge airport
- 5/5
Room could be upgraded.
- 4/5
First, Angelina in the dining area was very sweet and friendly. We enjoyed the convenience, especially in bad weather, to toast our anniversary with a cocktail from the hotel bar. Dinner was delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. Breakfast, however, was a mess. Angelina again was great and made things right. But we have to be honest and admit the food was subpar and not received in a timely manner. They definitely need to look at their morning kitchen staff.
- 5/5
Had a great time, happy hour and the drinks were heaven. The staff was amazing and gave pointers on day hikes.
- 4/5
The TV also didn’t work on a majority of channels it would just flash for a few seconds then say no signal then go back to what was playing. It was quiet which was nice and the staff were super friendly and accommodating our needs with our dogs. We would stay here again!
- 4/5
They are remodeling so I gave less stars. The old ac/heater unit didn’t work well. Room was not upgraded yet so old furniture. Pillows were flat and not Hilton premium. Restaurant was very over priced and just ok. Denny’s would have been better. Sorry Hilton, I know you can do better.
- 5/5
Hotel is going through renovations right now but it didn’t really affect our stay. Hotel staff was super friendly and helpful with everything. Definitely a great place to stay!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff, clean room and efficient temperature controls in the room
- 5/5
Nice clean place to stay
- 5/5
The hotel was nice and staff very friendly and helpful. It was difficult to access the entrance to the hotel because of a very busy roundabout right in front. For someone who is unfortunate enough to arrive at this roundabout during 5pm rush hour, good luck!!
- 4/5
Nice staff and a restaurant on property .close to other restaurants and easy parking
- 2/5
Staff seemed okay with elevator being down. Made no effort to help. 2 weeks down is ridiculous. Made us feel like 2nd class citizens because we booked thru a 3rd party.
- 3/5
Staff is very kind and the breakfast service is wonderful! Facilities were fine, but a bit outdated. Unfortunately, it was a major inconvenience that the elevator was broken all three days, requiring our family with small children to traverse three flights of stairs often.
- 5/5
I love this hotel but it was getting too high for my budget, but by using Expedia I was able to treat myself.
- 4/5
Good location outside city
- 4/5
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our breakfasts service was one of the best we’ve had in years.( server who had been working there a lifetime, who was fit to be in a 5 star restaurant, and I’m not easily impressed) front office employees were knowledgeable and friendly.
- 5/5
This is an excellent place to stay. I got my money worth. Thank you Hilton!
- 4/5
Rooms are very clean and well maintained. My bad for not looking closer…I assumed the continental breakfast was included but it is not.
- 4/5
Very welcoming lobby. Staff attentive. Rooms clean. Pool area needed cleaning and a sign as to where to get towels (we were told they were in pool area but we had to go in exercise room to get them). Rooms clean and easy access to freeway.
- 5/5
Enjoyed the staff who were very friendly, as well as the cleanliness of the room and the overall atmosphere of the hotel.
- 5/5
Lobby is a wonderful first impression. Front desk people were friendly and helpful. Our one nite stay was much better than average.
- 2/5
The front desk lacks friendliness and hospitality. For a Hilton garden inn, I expected more updated rooms. It’s like they are hoping no one wants to visit Redding, Ca. The hotel is across from a McDonald’s and across the way is a Starbucks but certainly the area needs more for hotel guests. Aside from their cute lobby area, the elevator is slow, the room smelled like cigarette, the hallways are not well lit and the bathroom needs updating. Looks like a chic fil a will be set right next to the McDonald’s soon but we had to travel about 10 mins to find one.
- 4/5
The bathtub drain was very slow and the room door did NOT latch when exiting unless you seriously pulled/slammed it. Be very careful when exiting your room. The beds were great and service was wonderful. Room was a nice size as well. Lobby services were nice as well, i.e. free water.
- 5/5
Easy access
- 4/5
Convenient location to get to downtown Redding and less than 5 minutes away from shopping centers and freeways. Clean facility, nice staff, overall good experience!
- 4/5
Other than the breakfast costing extra ($16 per day) everything was great. Free parking, right off the Sac River, close to I5, cold AC.
- 5/5
Big shoutout to the staff of the Hilton. I caught the flu on the first night there, and had to extend my stay. They did a great job of getting me back on my feet in 4 days. Hope I didn't get any of you sick.
- 5/5
Clean, easy check in, friendly staff. Wonderful as usual. This is our 5th stay here and we’ve never been disappointed.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 1/5
For $260.00 a night plus a $50 deposit it was not worth it. And they gave me a wheel chair room at that. Very disappointed. Will never stay there again. I will stay with my Comfort Inn's. They are half the price and way better hotel. And no free breakfast either.
- 5/5
Nice quiet hotel. The hotel was fully booked but no noise. Clean room with plenty of bedside outlets for phones. Across the street from McDonald’s and Costco
- 5/5
Easy to stay at, accommodating
- 4/5
Also the bathroom had no counter or table to put anything down...the small silver tray slanted down so if you put anything on it, it rolled to the floor. Other than that ...great dark out curtains and mattress.
- 5/5
We stay here every time we’re in Redding. We have always had a wonderful stay.
- 5/5
A clean place right by the river.
- 5/5
It was nice. Comfortable bed, it was cold and raining the entire time so the fireplace in the was very nice.
- 2/5
Property and staff were good but water was shut off from 1 pm to 4 pm on 1/12 and restaurant was shut down for Lunch,Dinner and room service till 1/21/24. Very inconvenient and disappointing. Not sure if I will use Hilton Garden Inn or Expedia in the future.
- 3/5
I had a decent stay, the room was perfectly located on the property for my needs,I was in and out visiting family in a nearby care facility, also close to everything. The park like setting is beautiful. The shower was amazing, great water pressure! Downside, as a woman traveling alone, I was not given a map, although I asked specifically about where I should park and which entrance to use. It was dark when I checked in, so it took a bit of work to find my room. Room was mostly clean, but the sheets were icky. I pulled them all off and turned up the heater. No extra blanket either. So yeah, for the price, not a great experience.
- 3/5
I've stayed here many times over the years as I fish the Lower Sacramento river and Trinity river quite often. It's always been good and I like the staff very much. By now, however, the rooms, incl ventilation, probably need a "look over". I stayed in 321, the air quality was very bad, and I got serious problems with congestion.
- 3/5
Rooms need a refresh. Bathrooms need to be renovated. Room service menu is a bit limited and uninspiring. Should have pay for view TV. Didn’t see an in room safe.
- 3/5
The water heater wasn’t working. Our showers were cold.
- 5/5
We enjoyed the hotel except that the coffee in the room did not meet our needs
- 5/5
My favorite hotel when I fly into Redding. The staff are always nice and helpful. The brownie desert is amazing.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay, clean, comfortable beds, friendly staff.
- 5/5
Clean quiet and conveniently located.
- 5/5
Pool was a bit small. Other than that we really liked it.
- 1/5
For a Hilton, you would expect a cleaner room. We had hair in the shower, and dirty tissues stuffed into the tissue box. That’s gross. Pretty low for a company like Hilton. When we asked for a new tissue box, the staff was really nice and got it for us right away…
- 3/5
What we didn't like was that they had a hotel safe and we needed to use it but no one on duty knew the combo so we could use it. We had a very valuable item and needed to lock it up since our room had no personal safe. Maybe for what you charge for the rooms, they could at least supply us a personal safe? Also, no vending machines by the ice machine. Would have stopped by a store if we had known before going to our room.
- 3/5
Staff was very good. They need to change the mattress and pillows.
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 4/5
Room 221 had a very sad view from the window. No blackout drapes. No fan in bathroom. Service staff very good, quick and on the ball.
- 4/5
This hotel was very clean, the staff was very nice & professional. Easy parking & safe, I would highly recommend.
- 2/5
Convenient to the interstate but the property falls short of a Hilton experience. The bathroom was cramped and the sink simply did not drain. Also, the pet fee, $75, is exorbitant compared to comparable hotels.
- 5/5
The room was wonderful and had a view!
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean
- 5/5
Excellent customer service. Rooms in great condition and the facilities were nice and clean.
- 2/5
You could not use the pool, looking out your window. It was filthy, dirty, the bathroom floors were dirty the tub was dirty. The restaurant was a joke. I had to make my own toast couldn’t even get a cup of coffee terrible you doing
- 4/5
I particularly liked the bartender because he let me order a child's hamburger & some fresh fruit. I didn't want the 1/2 lb. -size burger.
- 4/5
nice view of the river on the back rooms
- 4/5
service is good!
- 4/5
Everything was fine.
- 1/5
I prepaid for breakfast with my booking and they wouldn't honor it. Front desk manager is not knowledgeable on the Hilton Honors program, and is completely rude. The swimming pool is tiny. It is posted that it closes at 10pm, but the few people in it at 9 were forced to get out because the employee wanted to go home. Both pool and hot tub were very dirty. You should know: A sign in the elevator said the pool area will be closed beginning May 1, 2023 for at least 6 weeks for renovations. I tried to address issues the day of check-in, and was asked to come back on the morning. I tried telling them I didn't want to sleep there, but had no energy to push back. I did come back in the morning, and the guy working told me to call Hilton. The location is directly by a gas station and nothing else, with easy enough access to main roads. All in all, 0/10. I will be filing a formal complaint with Hilton and including all the photos.
- 5/5
excellent on siting dining
- 4/5
Nice place to stay
- 4/5
The people were are very friendly and it was a nice stay.
- 4/5
the bathroom was outdated . the carpet in hallways needed updated.
- 1/5
I stayed at the Hilton in San Luis/Pismo it was 5 star! In Redding I was so disappointed sink didn’t drain toilet was plugged up! The set up in the bathroom was disappointing. My husband had to take care of the bathroom himself they couldn’t get to it until the morning. They told us there were no other rooms available . I’m still upset.
- 5/5
I've now stayed here many times over several years of fly fishing in the Redding area and it's always a pleasure. Awesome staff!
- 4/5
Comfortable clean room.
- 5/5
Friendly staff at check in, room service was great! Safe, nice and convenient quick overnight stay.
- 5/5
Only an overnight stay, it was convenient.
- 5/5
The staff are just amazing at this location. Kathy who serves breakfast made us feel so special! She knew my name before I sat down!
- 5/5
hotel staff did a great job at check in, the restaurant, and at check out. the room was great, and the dinner and drinks were perfect for us.
- 5/5
Great service all around.
- 4/5
We like the hotel a lot and have stayed there several times. It is, however, looking a bit shop worn in the public areas and could use a face lift.
- 2/5
They offer two free bottles of water because their water tasted like burning plastic. The room was dirty. There was trash under a bed and dirt smeared across a coverlet (on the bed.) The carpet had almost a dozen scattered black marks on it 1-2” in diameter. Was it feces? Not sure what it was but I wasn’t happy. When I informed the staff they were unapologetic and rude. They also kept telling me I booked through a third party app so I was somehow not an actual guest. They did have a great person patrolling the parking lot and it felt very safe but I was dying of thirst the entire time I was there.
- 5/5
The cleanest hotel we have stayed at in Redding. It is old and needs remodeling but it smelled good and the breakfast was cooked to order.
- 5/5
I loved everything
- 3/5
Nice staff, front desk especially at check in.
